Hours were turning to days and weeks, each one coming up blank. Kyle was unknowingly getting drawn deeper into Phoebe's manipulation to the point that he started becoming withdrawn from his family. Phoebe was hurting Kyle even more often now, sometimes even for the sake of doing it. Bruises were starting to multiply on his body and he'd even obtained another bite mark on his stomach this time.

Kyle had never known her to be this evil, but he couldn't even see that she didn't love him as much as he loved her. She didn't care how much she was hurting him, or even what impact this was having on his life, she loved the power she now had over him again. The control she had was at an all time high for her, she got whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted, and Kyle didn't dare question her again, he'd thought better of it after the third or fourth bruise.

Kyle had started covering up even more just so his brothers wouldn't get suspicious of the bruises starting to cover his body like tattoos. More recently he was getting them when he refused to have sex with her. She would find the bruises that hurt most and put pressure on them while getting her own way. Kyle hated every second of it, she knew that, that's why she started doing it more.

Phoebe's new favourite game was brainwashing Kyle against his brothers. With him hiding the truth from them, she found it easy conjuring lies about them, making out like they were the ones using him. They didn't even see what was going on, they were too busy with their own lives to be paying attention to Kyle's and she loved it.

Braxton House

Kyle's POV

"Hey Kyle, the girls are going out for dinner, so we're going to Angelo's. You coming?" Brax asks, not noticing me glance over at Phoebe, who glared right back at me.

"Uh, no. I'm not really feeling up to it today, but you guys go have fun." I mutter, knowing I could do with a break, but it was clear I wasn't going to get one.

"You sure, you missed out on the last one?" Brax says.

"I'm sure." I quickly nod before I change my mind.

The beatings wouldn't be worth it and I know it would be a lot worse than anything I'd got so far. There were only so many times I could be punched in one spot before it became unbearable to live with for days after. Phoebe has been getting rough lately, especially when I refuse to sleep with her. Oh god, I just hope she doesn't get pregnant from this, I would be trapped with her for life!

"Okay, well I need to go and pick Casey up before we meet Heath at the Surf Club. You know where we'll be if you change your mind." Brax says, grabbing his keys from the side before walking out.

"I need a song written out, come over and do it." Phoebe says as she chucks a pen down on the table.

"But it's your song, you said I was never to get involved." I say as I look over at her.

"And I said I need it written out, so get over here and do it." Phoebe orders, so I slowly stand up before walking over to the table, sitting down before reading over what she'd written so far. "It's great, isn't it?" She grins, and I just stare back in disbelief.

"You've written a hate track against my family." I frown, not even believing that I had just read the things she had written. "Why are you being so mean about them?"

"Grow up, Kyle, it's not about your family." Phoebe rolls her eyes.

"So it just happens to be about another family of three brothers who bully their fourth new brother?"

"Exactly." Phoebe nods, looking very pleased for herself. "I think it's the best one I've been able to write so far. This place really gives me some great ideas."

"You're making out like my brothers are horrible to me when they're not. They've never hit me or even called me evil names. They've never even lied about me or to me. Why are you saying this stuff?" I ask.

"I've just been picking up things that I've seen and managed to write that up. If I observe things more around here, maybe I'll be able to create a whole album."

"I can't let you use any of this, it's not right. You've lied about what they're really like."

"Stop being so pathetic, that song could be about anyone and you don't need to be so defensive about it. Your brothers don't care about you as much as you care about them, start getting that through your thick head." Phoebe hisses.

"You don't know what you're talking about." I mutter, not understanding why they all couldn't get on with each other for the sake of having peace within the family.

"Is that why Casey and Denny have moved out, why Heath and Bianca were looking at houses in the city to move to. I wouldn't be surprised if Brax and Ricky are looking at moving away as well." Phoebe says.

"Wait, Heath and Bianca are moving to the city?" I frown, this was the first I'd heard of it, and they wouldn't tell her and not me.

"Oh, they didn't tell you? I guess they didn't think it was important for you to know. I'm going out, be here when I get back and make sure that song is finished." Phoebe sternly says before marching out of the door.

All I could think about was why Phoebe knew about Heath moving away when I didn't. Surely Heath wouldn't keep it a secret from me, there's no reason for him to. It wouldn't be the same without him around the place, although I couldn't imagine Heath living in the city, he wouldn't be able to leave the surf behind. I really hoped that was the case anyway.

"Kyle?" I hear from beside me, glancing up to see Heath stood watching me.

"Just the person." I mutter, standing up to face him.

"Geez, you're the only person who's wanted me around today." Heath says, and I wonder if Bianca sent him away as she was busy with school a lot at the minute. "What's up?"

"Is it true you're moving to the city with Bianca? And if it is and you didn't want to tell me yet, then that's fine, I just want to know why I wasn't told sooner when I thought we were on good terms." I rambled, knowing it was only because I was nervous about his answer.

"What're you talking about? We're not going anywhere." Heath frowns, looking just as confused as I now felt.

"You're not moving away?" I ask just to double check.

"Nope, I don't plan on leaving this place for a while yet. Why, you planning on getting rid of me or something?" Heath jokes.

"No, I just heard you were looking for places in the city with Bianca and wanted to check with you to see if it was true." I replied.

"News to me." Heath says, staring at me for a few seconds.

"What?" I ask, knowing he wanted to say something.

"Are you okay, you've just been acting weird lately?" Heath says.

"I'm fine, and it's great to know you're not moving away." I smiled lightly smile, relieved that he wasn't leaving them, but I couldn't understand why Phoebe said they told her they were.

"Who even told you that we were leaving?" Heath asks, and I could sense that he wasn't happy about that rumour being started up, so I wonder if it's best to tell him, but I couldn't lie to him.

"Phoebe said she saw you both looking at houses in the city and that you said you were thinking about moving there. Maybe she got her wires mixed somewhere." I say, hoping he wouldn't go and confront her about it else the fallout would be just as worse.

"Well ignore her, you're not getting rid of me. She better not be telling other people we're moving either, we've got enough people on our case about having another kid soon." Heath huffs, walking to the fridge to grab himself a beer, handing one over to me on his way back to the table.

"So you don't want another baby soon?"

"No, we're not ready for another one yet, not after Rocco. I don't know what people don't understand about that either. Anyway, enough about that, when are you going to hang out with us again?" He asks, and I knew they were getting suspicious of it now.

"I'll come next time, I've just been helping Phoebe out with songs for her gigs. It stresses her out, so I like to help." I reply, hating that I just lied to him, but it was clear Phoebe was never going to leave the Bay. I was stuck with her now whether I liked it or not.

"Great, make sure of it." Heath says, grabbing his wallet before heading back out.
