Hello, bots and cons. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Young Justice: Their War, Our World. In the last chapter, the Machination members Bludgeon, Poison Ivy, Flamewerx, and Thunderclaw gained three new members in Gotham City: Black Mask, Firefly, and Blaze. Now, I mentioned that the Firefly and Blaze used in this story are the ones from the 2004 Batman show. They've also gained a third Gothamite ally in Black Mask.
Now, back to the action! It's time for a certain beast to come in!
*Happy Harbor. Mount Justice. 9:00 am*
It had been fifteen days since Perdita had to retake the throne of her country, but still couldn't find a stand-in. However, the League and Team were finally discussing what to do with Red Tornado. "So, how will we get Red Tornado back?" Dick asked.
Batman sighed. "We're still coming up with a plan, admittedly. The Machination haven't involved him in any missions after the second Battle of Happy Harbor."
"Then we've got to find him!" Wally exclaimed, munching on some pretzels.
"Technically, this is a League matter." Green Arrow reminded.
"I don't think that matters since the Decepticons are working with humans and formed the Machination months ago." Kaldur retorted.
"Very well." Batman brought up a holomap. "We've detected a strange energy signature in Northern India. It just so happens that Mayor Hill was attacked there as well."
"Why was your city's mayor there in the first place?" Superman asked.
"Trying to prove to Gotham's citizens that there's less to be afraid of since I was brought back to life." Batman said, unintentionally making Wonder Woman shudder a bit at the reminder. "He said he was attacked by a gorilla wearing a red beret. We want you all to investigate."
"No problem." Conner smirked.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the main entrance. "Seems we have a visitor." Black Canary commented.
"It's a friendly face." Green Arrow smiled as he walked back in with Crimson Knight in tow.
"Hello, my friends." Crimson Knight smiled under his helmet.
"Crimson Knight!" Neola smiled.
"What're you doing here? I thought were in Vlatava with Perdita." Wally said.
"I was. I was there for thirteen days until we both deemed that I wasn't really needed as she has new, loyal bodyguards." Crimson Knight explained. "So, whatever mission you guys are embarking on next, I'm in."
"Awesome!" Neola cheered.
*Northern India. The Team. 19:00 pm*
The Bioship landed in the Indian Jungle and the Team, plus Crimson Knight hopped out. "Okay, let's review mission parameters." Aqualad reminded.
"KF and I will take the east end." Robin said.
"Superboy and Miss Martian will take the south." Aqualad added.
"Done." Superboy and Miss Martian said at the same time, causing them to look at each other and smile.
"I'll take Zatanna and Techwerx and search the west." Artemis smirked.
"And I'll go search northwards with Crimson Knight." Aqualad finished.
"Sounds solid to me." Crimson Knight readied his sword.
"Let's do it!" Robin shouted and the teams ran off while the Bioship camouflaged itself. A little later, Robin and Kid Flash were chatting with each other. "You think Crimson Knight will join the Team?"
"I hope so. That guy's cool and he helped Perdita." Kid Flash smiled. "However, I can't help but think back to when Red Tornado let me and Blurr go to save Perdita when she was in the hospital."
"Maybe that means his will is stronger than Morrow's programming." Robin added.
"That's a good thought." Kid Flash began actually thinking when suddenly, they were attacked by mutated vultures. "What the hell?!"
"They've been mutated with Kobra Venom!" Robin exclaimed as he stopped a vulture from digging into his flesh. However, there weren't only two, but six of them.
Artemis, Zatanna, and Techwerx were being besieged by giant, mutated tigers. "Etativel!" Zatanna lifted one of the tigers up and flung it back, allowing Artemis to fire a couple stun arrows at a couple others. Techwerx fired shots from her newly made Stun Blaster, only knocking the tigers out.
"Those aren't the standard tiger." Artemis commented.
Superboy and Miss Martian were dealing with a mutated pack of wolves. Primarily, Superboy was being attacked by the white wolf while the others focused on the Martian. Superboy's shoulder was being bitten into by said white wolf.
"Superboy!" Miss Martian screamed as she pushed some of the wolves off her, but it wasn't enough as they came right back at her.
Finally, Aqualad and Crimson Knight were dealing with a combo of mutated bears and cobras. "I have not seen these kinds of markings before." Crimson Knight slashed at a bear that roared at him, but he wasn't intimidated in the slightest.
"They've been mutated by Kobra Venom, a dangerous mutagenic substance." Aqualad informed as he threw a cobra back. "Whoever's doing this must have a steady supply." He then mentally called Miss Martian to open a mental link. "Everyone, converge on me and Crimson Knight. We have a lead."
Soon enough, everyone was with Aqualad and Crimson Knight. "What did you find?" Robin asked.
"These electric fences lead somewhere. We encountered them when we fought off giant bears and cobras. Plus, they had inhibitor collars like those used at Belle Reve Prison. The control facility must be nearby."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Kid Flash asked rhetorically. Before he could run forward, he was stopped by Artemis.
"How bout using your head?" Artemis deadpanned.
"Hold on!" Superboy spoke up in a hushed tone. "I hear something. Four airborne engines are approaching." Right after he said that, Toxwing, Screamvolt, Hellcrest, and Frost Vortex all landed ahead of the Team and transformed to robot mode.
"This is where the Kobra Venom signature is coming from." Toxwing pointed out.
"Are you sure?" Screamvolt asked.
"It has to be." Hellcrest answered.
"Then let's crack this open." Frost Vortex grinned as he fired an ice grenade which froze the inside of the facility. "Okay, let's fish out the contents." The four Decepticons walked over and tore off the roof, seeing Monsieur Mallah and the Brain frozen solid. "Who wants collector's items?"
"Stop joking around, Frost Vortex. We've got to get these two to our new Ice Box." Hellcrest deadpanned.
"Oh, you're no fun, Hellcrest." Frost Vortex groaned as he picked up the two characters still frozen, transformed into vehicle mode, and placed them in his cargo hold. With that, they took off.
"We have to look inside." Miss Martian voiced when she was sure the four Decepticons were out of earshot.
"Dleihs Taeh." Zatanna generated individual heat skins around each team member and they went into the destroyed and frozen facility. What they found were a dozen collars and several vials of Kobra Venom. "That was the Brain, wasn't it?"
"Yes, and the Decepticons just took him and Monsieur Mallah to god knows where." Kid Flash groaned.
"While we did not really find out what was going on here, we can, at the very least, free the animals here." Aqualad said softly.
Later, the Team had removed the collars off all the animals and they went off, except for the white wolf, the Black Bear, and a brown and black Cobra. "Every other animal has gone off, why not you three?" Superboy asked.
"Perhaps they taken a liking to us." Miss Martian smiled.
"Can we keep them?" Superboy's eyes lit up a little.
"First the sphere, now these beasts? We seem to have a habit of taking strays." Kid Flas commented. "Well, the wolf's gonna need a name. How's about Krypto?"
The wolf growled. "Pass." Superboy said with a small smile.
"The bear here has taken a liking for me. I will name him Bjorn." Crimson Knight declared. The newly named Bjorn nuzzled him.
"U-Um... The cobra is just staring at me." Zatanna said nervously.
"I think it's waiting for you to name it." Robin guessed.
"Ah, o-okay... Belinda. D-Do you like that?" Zatanna asked. Belinda responded by slithering up to her and touched her nose with it's forked tongue which made her giggle.
"Well, I would like to join your team, if you'll have me." Crimson Knight said.
"Of course we'll have you!" Techwerx cheered.
"We're always welcome to have new members." Artemis added.
"Welcome aboard, Crimson Knight." Aqualad held out his hand.
"Shane Landers. That's my name." Crimson Knight revealed as he shook Aqualad's hand.
*Mission City. Squawktalk. 23:00 pm*
A neon blue and silver robotic eagle with guns on the back was perched on a street lamp, overlooking the human crowds. "How can these creatures even be useful to us? So fragile." Spreading his wings, Squawktalk flew to another part of the city.
Landing on another part of the city, he located an abandoned warehouse and landed on the floor of it. "Then again, I am following orders from Soundwave and Lord Megatron."
Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Young Justice: Their War, Our World. Superboy finally has Wolf and Crimson Knight has officially joined the Team. Superboy isn't the only one to get a pet. Crimson Knight gets a bear which he names Bjorn and Zatanna gets a Cobra which she names Belinda. Before that however, Monsieur Mallah and The Brain are frozen and captured by the Decepticons. Now, Wolf and Bjorn are male while Belinda is female.
At the end of the chapter, Squawktalk has made his way to Mission City. Now, Mission City is a location from the 2007 Transformers film. As usual, if anyone has any ideas for this story, please let me know in the comments/reviews, or personally PM me.
