The Interest of Love - Having my Baby
The turn of events have been profound since the night Soo Young and Sang Su met half way on the Hill of Oblivion…. The " What if's" became the "The What Are's".
Reviewing their 8 year journey of mis steps and mis cues that each were equally responsible for their choices. Their fears and misconceptions held them back from pursuing a journey that is normal and ordinary for many….. "Isn't that what Love is…..Two people going through everyday life together" ….This simple explanation of what Love is….. set in motion the events that followed.
Sang Su's and Soo Young's passion for each other was no longer bottled up but allowed to overflow.
The communication to each other that they couldn't find the words to express their true feelings became filled with expressions of love and adoration
What life once felt like a chain unable to break free from the shackles imposed on them for simply being born poor… now filled with opportunities never imagined and instant wealth like winning the lottery.
During the four years that Soo Young stayed away from Sang Su her painting's reflected the emptiness that resided in her….. the scenes she painted without Sang Su with her filled her life with regrets. Thinking that she could find happiness in knowing that her actions would allow the love of her life to have the life he was meant to have came to fruition with there first eye contact after four years….. Life and happiness without each other was meaningless.
Sang Su on the other hand as hard as he tried to place her out of his mind …. Traces of her filled his mind …. The unconditional love for her was locked in his heart and the key to open it was only her presence.
The new found abundance of opportunities that have been laid at their feet since they committed to each other. The Chairman of KCU wanted to have a press conference to introduce the new faces of KCU bank…. What Soo Young found fascinating in her new role was that the day before while signing their new contract … she had a flashback to the day she had to serve coffee to those considered VIP…. That day Mi Kyung's father ….. Park Dae Seong wanted to get a closeup view of the man his daughter was pursuing…. Because of his VIP status the bank officials did as he wanted. However, this day the roles were reversed it is Mi Kyung being instructed by the Executive Director to serve coffee to the Chairman and his VIP's Soo Young, Sang Su and their Manager Jang Tae Soo. Life has a unusual way of correcting itself.
At the press conference The Chairman introduces Soo Young and Sang Su
Chairman: I called all of you here….. to make an introduction and also to make a solemn promise that KCU is committed to being the number one bank in meeting the needs of their customers. Soo Young and Sang Su which many of you have seen their faces on billboards ,magazines and talk shows have agreed to help in this endeavor…. I need to add Soo Young and Sang Su know banking in that both have started from the ground floor….. Since they are also a new family they both understand the many needs of young families today…. Soo Young almost has a giddy smile on her first being introduced first ….. but she knows without Sang Su by her side none of this would've happened. They answer questions from the reporters which were more concerned about the story behind Soo Young's art work.
With this new contract… their 15 minutes of fame has been extended…. Soo Young and Sang Su are now required to be on all brochures and pamphlets and videos , whether training or promotional marketing for the bank. Sang Su has been transferred to HQ as VP of General Consultation Team… Soo Young declined to be a Bank employee but remains contract spokesperson….. she has hired additional clerks to help with the Future Happiness Cafe for those days she needs to be away.
Further evidence of their change in status…. Mr Kim who was instrumental in highlighting the romantic scandal that was happening at the Youngpo Branch by video recording the altercation between Jong Hyun, Kyung Pil and Sang Su. He had the audacity to imply that Soo Young was nothing but a slut whereby Sang Su nearly punched him out. Now he is forced to bow wherever Soo Young appears at HQ and he avoids Sang Su at all costs.
With Sang Su at HQ Mi Kyung finally has her conversation with him that has been four years in the making.
Mi Kyung : Sang Su….. now that we're both here ….. can we talk or are you uncomfortable doing so

Han Jeong Im: Sang Su hasn't changed since he was a baby…. After you leave here go to the pharmacy and get one of those pregnancy kits… only way to find out if you are… if you are…. My grandchild needs to be taken care of
Soo Young's mind is now filled with both happiness and worry… could what Sang Su has been waiting for be happening…. Her thoughts turn to: If I am pregnant…. will I be a good mother?….. How could I be… I have no idea what to do… Will I hurt this baby like I hurt Sang Su…. Soo Young stop this kind of thinking… Find out and then tell Sang Su…. As long as your together , everything will work out….. your glowing for a reason
Soo Young goes to the nearest pharmacy and purchases several pregnancy test kits, just to make sure. Her hesitation in wanting to know…. Makes her wait until Sang Su goes off to work… she doesn't want to see that disappointed look on his face if she's not.
The three to five minutes waiting time for the two red bars to appear, almost seem like an eternity… she walks around their new home with all the upgraded furnishing that their new found wealth has brought them… these changes were overwhelming as it is…. If she is pregnant what changes will this baby bring them. After the five minutes expires she walks up to the counter where she laid it and looks, and looks and looks again…. Two red bars are glaring back at her….. to make sure she takes the test again …. Same results…. Third time is the charm …. Two red bars.
Knowing that she is very pregnant her worries turn to Sang Su : We have a photo shoot…. If I tell him before…. Neither one of us will be able to do it… Let me tell him at where it all began … we'll have a very romantic dinner, just the two of us.
To her surprise, photographer Pak Se Kyu is once again being used to bring out Soo Young's and Sang Su special qualities
Pak Se Kyu: Today guys we have to show the public what a growing family goes through….. Soo Young … that great figure of yours will have to be altered somewhat….. you're going have to wear a baby bump… Will you be able to show how a young pregnant mother feels like …. Sang Su as a new expecting father you think you'll be able to handle those emotions
Sang Su: I just can't wait for that day
Soo Young can't believe today is the day for this kind of shoot: I'll get myself mentally prepared for it.
After the shoot Sang Su keeps talking about how great it will be when he becomes a father
Soo Young: Sweetheart….. since you're in such a good mood and I'm craving Pork Cutlets can we have dinner out tonight… I kinda want to reminisce about that night we went up The Hill of Oblivion… that night was the start of how everything good that has happened to us started

Soo Young : today during that photo shoot… I wasn't faking it…. I'm pregnant… I'm having your baby ….. what do you think?
Sang Su left almost speechless then blurts out: Why would you want to walk up this hill…. I'll carry you the rest of the way
Soo Young: don't be silly… I'm fine….. I'm going to get big…. So I'll need the exercise
Sang Su: you really are pregnant
Soo Young: here's the other two sticks to confirm it… Are you happy about it… I've been worried ever since Ma thought I was

Sang Su: We have the money…. What's more important than yours and the baby's safety….. you have to think of the baby first….. say if the baby gets sick and needs to go to the hospital….. are you going to take a bus, flag down a taxi or wait till you get a hold of me. It's not that expensive .

The remaining months of the pregnancy , business as usual continues… Soo Young continues to paint for the Gallery….. but also begins painting the baby's room with bright colorful characters from fairytale books. The growing family KCU bank campaign continues, Soo Young no longer needs the baby bump since she now has one of her own. Sang Su gets further recognition with propose changes meant to make the branch offices more efficient.
With all the promotional posters and pamphlets throughout the KCU HQ….. Mi Kyung is in a constant reminder of her past….. what was real and what wasn't….. During a training seminar that Kyung Pil was required to attend….. she notice his pensive stares at her. During their last encounter she was rather dismissive of him in that he was just another ex… but he did hold the distinction of being her first love. The passion they had for each other before the breakup … she has never experienced since, especially with Sang Su whom never showed her any.

The stalemate ends with an agreement to wedding ceremony fitting the stature of the Park family.
The elegant wedding befitting a chaebol princess does happen… Mi Kung is wearing a designer dress especially made for her and those in attendance are the whose who in the Korean business circle…. Shim Kyung Sook was adamant that her best friend Han Jeong Im and her family be invited. A very pregnant Soo Young and Sang Su agreed to accompany her. When the bride and groom are instructed to do their first dance and then everyone else is asked to join in.
Sang Su stands and reaches out his hand: My beautiful bride and mother of my child to be… we've never had our first dance

Soo Young: Would you mind if we sat down… this extra weight is hard on my legs
As they begin walking to their seats , Soo Young feels the baby kicking and then feels the liquid rolling down her leg
Soo Young: Sang Su…. I can't believe this is happening now
Sang Su: What's the matter
Soo Young: My water just broke….. we need to go to the hospital
Without any hesitation, Sang Su picks Soo Young up into his arms and begins carrying her to their SUV…. Jeong Im seeing what's happening follows suit
Sang Su : Ma call the obstetrician and tell him where on our way….. Soo young's water just broke
At the hospital the nurses begin the delivery procedure… monitoring her contractions and her level of pain discomfort
Sang Su: Is my wife alright … the baby isn't due for two more weeks
Nurse: babies seem to follow their own schedule… but she appears to be alright….. are you wanting to be in the delivery room when the baby arrives
Sang Su: I'm not missing this
Nurse: fine let's get you suited up
Soo Young : Are you sure the baby is fine
Nurse: The baby is fine… tell me when the pain gets to be to much… I can give you and epidural that will lesson your pain
Soo Young: will it hurt the baby… I'll endure what ever pain as long as the baby isn't hurt
Nurse: First time mother…. Right…. The epidural won't hurt the baby
Soo Young grabs Sang Su's hand….. the pain in her eyes begins to appear
The Obstetrician arrives and comes to assure both Soo Young and Sang Su that everything is going smoothly… the contractions are 1 minute apart signaling that the baby is ready to be delivered…. The Pain gets intense so the doctor puts and epidural into the IV giving Soo Young some relief to the pain she's experiencing.
Doctor: Soo Young remember what we've been practicing on with the breathing and pushing …. Sang Su you're her coach … keep her focused and this should be over quickly…. Soo Young are you ready… take a deep breath and push as hard as you can
Soo Young takes a deep breath and screams as she begins to push: Oh this really hurts…. Sang Su we're never having sex again this hurts to much
Doctor and Nurses smile: First time mother….. don't worry dad….. she'll forget everything

Soo Young nearly exhausted takes that last deep breath and screams at the top of hers lungs pushes with what ever she has left….. The doctor pulls the baby out cuts the unbiblicalcord and then sends the placenta to be examined. The Nurse takes the baby boy and removes the white cheesy film that covers him
Sang Su leans his head down gives Soo Young a kiss: Are you ok…. You did good
The nurse brings the cleaned baby boy all bundled up and gives him to his dad…. Who gently lets his head rest against his shoulder. Soo Young looks and smile seeing one of their new moments that is embedded in her mind
Soo Young : Sweetheart….. let me hold our son
Sang Su gently places their son onto Soo Young's chest as she gives him her first kiss: Sang Su… he's beautiful isn't he?
Sang Su: Just like his mother
Nurse : We are going to have to take this pretty boy and do our normal examination and then he'll be brought to your room to see if he will breast feed…. Have you decided on his name yet?
