30. Matt Oda's Rescue Mission
Inside the cabin of Wicka's Boat Taxi, Matt, the fairies, and Wicka all became concerned and disappointed about the Pretty Cure girls. To Coco and the other fairies, they never felt so defeated that all their Pretty Cure heroes have been captured. The fairies feel so powerless without the magical heroines.
"This is so horrible-coco," Coco said in a great depression. "I'd never expect that all of our Pretty Cure heroes would be captured."
"If only I was a bit faster to know the truth and reach the girls in time," Matt said in disappointment.
"Don't blame yourself-natsu," Natts said, trying to Matt feel comfortable. "You did your very best. You even sacrificed the Wonder Colors to save them."
"But still…, in the end…we lost our magical friends."
"Nozomi…Karen…Everyone…" Milk said in great sorrow.
Wicka, who's at the front desk, took a deep sigh. "Some mix-up this turned out to be," Wicka said in concern. "It feels like I'm the one who is at fault here. Being captured by that scoundrel Scribbelle and letting her deceive the Pretty Cures. I feel so ashamed."
"You shouldn't be Wicka," Matt corrected her. "The Blots would've got us and the Wonder Colors if it wasn't for you. That little trick with the smoke bomb, that was pretty clever."
"Indeed," Coco speaks up, "we didn't know we were standing right next to a secret hatch and used it as a hiding place from the Blots-coco."
"It was the only thing I could do in return for rescuing me," Wicka replied. "To tell the truth, that secret hatch is used to keep my money safe and store supplies."
Matt comments, "Well, one thing's for sure, if you didn't react quickly and shoved all of us into the secret hatch, Scribbelle and her henchman would've got us by now."
"May I ask?" Milk speaks up. "Where did you get that smoke bomb-miru?"
As she raised one of her eyebrows, Wicka replies, "Curious that you asked, but odd how I reply. The other day was I cleaning some shelves in the backroom when I heard a knock at the front door. I walked toward the door and opened it. I then looked outside to see who it was, but there was no one in sight. As I looked around for the person, I found a small package with a tag on it on the floor. I picked it up and read the tag says, 'Be on guard. The Pretty Cures will be on your way. When in a dire situation, use this to escape.' The person who sent me the package was anonymous, but I unwrapped the package and received what I knew was a smoke bomb." Wicka then makes a deep sigh. "I was going to use it to save the Pretty Cures, but that slimy Scribbelle got to me first before the warriors arrived."
"Hmm…, I wonder who the sender of that package was-ropu?" Syrup wondered.
"That doesn't matter-miru," Milk said in sorrow. "Without the Pretty Cures on our side, there's no way we can save Spectrum Land. What are we going to do-miru?"
A moment of silence was in the air until Coco came up with an idea. "I know!" Coco said out loud. "The International Pretty Cures. They can help us-coco."
"That's a great idea, Coco," Syrup replied. "With that many Pretty Cures, we can rescue our other Pretty Cure warriors-ropu."
"Well then, what are we waiting for?" Natts speaks to everyone, "Let's head back to Earth-natsu."
"No can do," Tint regretfully replied.
Everyone heard Tint's sorrowful response and pondered. Tint took out her magic paintbrush that she uses to create the link portal between Earth and Spectrum Land. To Tint's dismay, the paintbrush's appearance is all gray.
Tint continues to speak. "This paintbrush I used to get to your world is useless. Since the Prism Diamond's power is gone out for some time, the power to go through other worlds has stopped. So, there's no way we can go back to your homeworld now."
Coco, Natts, and Syrup feel hopeless now that they can't return to Earth.
Wicka then speaks up with a question. "I'm curious to know is how could that pink fairy turned into a human, like Mr. Matt here?" she asked.
Milk calmly responds, "By the power of the Blue Rose-miru."
"The Blue Rose?" Matt asked.
Milk replied with a nod. She then briefly explains the Blue Rose's power how she received it and turning into the Milky Rose. Besides Coco, Natts, and Syrup, everyone else in the room became a little amazed.
"How interesting…" Wicka replied. "To think a fairy can turn into a human by a magical item."
"But can you still transform into Milky Rose-ropu?" Syrup asked.
"I'm afraid not-miru," Milk answered in sorrow. "I wanted to get the Wonder Color Case back, but in my haste, I dropped my Milky Palette. Without it, I can't become Milky Rose again-miru."
Coco, Syrup, and everyone else feels powerless since they can't do anything without the Pretty Cures.
But Matt felt very depressed when he remembered what he said to the girls earlier when the team arrived in Purple Bog. "Do not worry, girls. We're all in this together. And if anything happens, I, Matt Oda, will be right by your side. That's what a gentleman does." Matt remembered.
A moment of silence and careful thinking is clouding in Matt's mind. After thinking for some time, he scrunched his eyebrows, makes a firm look face, and he quickly stands up. The fairies and Wicka noticed Matt's active stance.
"Guys!" Matt called out to everyone in the room. "I'm going to Pastel Square." Everyone blinked by Matt's command. "I'm going to save the Pretty Cures." But that last statement Matt said gave the fairies and Wicka a little shock.
"Wait! You mean… you're going on a rescue mission all by yourself-coco!?" Coco said in great shock.
"That's crazy, Matt!" Syrup said in surprise. "You can't mean that-ropu!"
"Yeah, it's preposterous-miru." Milk said in fear.
"Call it what you want, but my mind is made up," Matt said calmly. "I'm willing to do everything I can in my power to rescue the girls, because…I owe them…"
"Owe them?" Tint asked.
Matt sighed at first, but he continued to speak. "Maybe I'm just a person who got involved in this mess, but those Pretty Cure girls treated me like I'm someone special. At first, I thought…maybe…I wasn't worthy of the team, but they saw something in me. They said I had this 'Pretty Cure Soul' in me. And, if what they said is true, then maybe I'm not just an average person. Those girls treated me like I am officially part of the team. But I think it's more than that. They see me more than just a gentleman. They respected me like I am their very best friend. And if that's true, then good and best friends will never leave each other behind until the very end." Matt took a deep breath and exhaled. "So, I'm going to rescue those sweet and kind girls. I'm not going to let some heinous villains hurt them, like what happened before…"
"Before?" Natts said and noticed, "Before what-natsu?"
Matt heard Natts, but he shook his head and waved his right hand fast. "Uh, it's nothing."
Natts make an awkward look after seeing Matt's ignorant response.
Matt Oda then walks up to Wicka, who's behind the front desk as he makes a demand. "Wicka, is there a way to get to Pastel Square?"
Wicka didn't respond immediately but stared at Matt one for a second. She then speaks, "There is. I have this old yet reliable boat I used to carry my passengers to Pastel Square. It's still in good condition, but…"
"But, what…?"
"Are you really willing to risk yourself and saving those young girls, Mr. Oda?"
"I have to do something. I can do things by myself, but to save Spectrum Land and the galaxy, I need the Pretty Cures powers and strength to restore the Wonder Colors." Matt makes a fist of justice. "Take me there Wicka, before it's too late."
"But, Matthew!" Milk shouted to him. She then also approaches to Matthew next to his feet. "You're not a Pretty Cure. You don't have any magical powers or super strength-miru."
"Maybe not, but I can't just sit here and do nothing. Our homeworld and the other planets, including yours, are dying as we speak. If we want to save Spectrum Land, we need to take a big step forward toward bravery. Besides, I made a promise to them that if anything happens to them, I will be there. And I swear to keep my promise."
"But Matt, you don't know what you are dealing with," Syrup said in great concern. "These aren't your everyday criminals back on Earth, they're evil dark-magic beings that seriously give you a horrible bruise-ropu."
"Syrup's right," Natts agreed, "You don't have any weapons or magic spells that will defeat those Blots-natsu."
"And yet, I've still got this," Matt responded with a wink and tapping on his forehead. "But listen everyone, I'm sure the Pretty Cures have taught you all well what it means to be bold, smart, and honest to be a special person or fairy. During the last few hours hanging with the Pretty Cures, I learned what it means not just to be a hero, but how to become a better person. Listening to the young ladies' stories taught me that if you face your fears, take a big step, and believing in your heart, then you can accomplish almost anything.
I may not be a Pretty Cure, but one thing I know is that I'm doing this because it's what my mind and my heart desire. You do the right thing, not because you have to, but it's also what you want to. And what I want to do is save them in return. I'm sure you fairies wish to do the same thing because that's how you feel. Am I right?"
Coco, Natts, Syrup, Milk, and Tint all looked at each other with little concern on their faces. But in the next second, the fairies' faces turned into a confident look.
"Matthew Oda is right," Coco speaks, "the Pretty Cures have done so much kindness to us. Now it's our turn to save them-coco."
"Right!" Syrup agreed, "Standing here and panicking isn't going to get us anywhere and saving Spectrum Land-ropu."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Milk said with a confident attitude, "Let's go to Pastel Square and save the Pretty Cures-miru."
"My, my…," Wicka said in a little surprise, but she also grinned, "what a bunch of spirited and determined fellows." Everyone turned to Wicka after her comment. "From your behavior and attitude, Mr. Oda, I'd say you're not going to give up until the very end." Wicka exits from the front desk and approaches the side door. "Follow me everyone, the boat is out this way."
Everyone did as Matt and the fairies followed Wicka out of the cabin.
Once outside of the cabin, everyone continued to follow Wicka as they all went around back came upon a boathouse. The boathouse looked big and old, but sturdy enough to hold for a few more years. Wicka opened the door to the boathouse, and everyone stepped inside. Wicka then turned on the lamps inside the boathouse, and appearing in the light is a big wooden boat with a big and powerful motor hanging on the stern. The boat is about two yards wide and five yards long. It also contained six-seat benches in a column from the bow to the stern.
"Wow," Tint said in a little surprise, "it's big enough to fit at least fifteen people on it."
"Thirty-one to be exact, including me being the driver," Wicka corrected to Tint. "Yep, it may look old, but it has enough energy and support to transport my passengers to Pastel Square. But soon, I'll have to put this good O' reliable out to pasture."
"But if this old boat is going out of commission, where and how you'll get a new boat?" Matt asked.
"I'm not really sure. With all the havoc going on and those Blots about, it'll be hard to buy a new boat." Matt and the fairies feel a little disappointed to hear Wicka sell her only boat transportation. "But right now, let's head to Pastel Square before it's too late. All aboard."
Matt and the fairies stepped into the boat and sat on the benches. Wicka is the last person to step inside the boat. She sat next to the motor as she gets the engine on. By pulling on the motor a few times, the motor started to run. Wicka grabbed the steering handle and accelerates the motor to move the boat out of the boathouse. Once outside of the house, Wicka guided her boat as everyone on it floated down the river and headed to Pastel Square.
Meanwhile, back at Sage Mark's treehouse, the old sage reads a history book to learn more about the enemy he, the Pretty Cures, and everyone else, they are facing. As he slowly but skims through the pages of the book… Knock! Knock! Knock! A knocking on Mark's door was sound off, and Mark heard it.
"Come in," Mark called, and he faces toward his front door.
The door opened, and inside came…
"Yo Mark, what's up?" said Hue with his head inside the house first.
"Ah Hue, good to see you again," Mark replied with a grin on his face.
Hue stepped inside the treehouse and closed the front door. He approached Sage Mark and gave a report. "Just wanna let you know that the Blots have increased their patrol and strength," Hue noted. "It won't be long until the Blots start to get serious."
"I see…" Sage Mark replied with a little concerned tone of voice. "But we shouldn't worry too much. The Pretty Cures are now in Purple Bog, trying to obtain the next Wonder Color. And their strengths and wits have increased as well."
"Well, that's good news to hear."
"By the by, how's the Queen and everyone else doing?"
"Things are looking and sounding grim over at the prison, but everyone has high hopes for the Pretty Cures to successfully save Spectrum Land."
Sage Mark hummed in response and stares away from Hue. Mark then rubs and smooths his beard as a concern thought came into his mind. "What I'm a little concerned is Tint. She had a dream about the Queen's loyal servants after seeing a flash from the Wonder Colors the Pretty Cures collected."
Hue raised one of his eyebrows in a little surprise. "So that means her memories are returning thanks to the power of the Wonder Colors."
"Indeed. It won't be long until she finally realizes who she really is."
Hue makes a little grin on his face knowing about Tint's current condition.
Back at Purple Bog's swamp river, Matt, the fairies, and Wicka continued down the river to reach Pastel Square. As the gang on the boat kept floating down the river, the area became swampier as more open water and trees appeared. They are entering a murky bayou.
"I'm really worried-miru," Milk said in little fright. "I hope the girls will be alright-miru."
"Don't worry, I know they are," Matt said with little confidence. "The Blots may have the Pretty Cures, but they can't rule Spectrum Land without the Wonder Colors. So, we still have a little advantage on them."
"Matt's right," Coco agreed, "If that's true, then there is hope that we will save the Pretty Cures and Spectrum Land-coco."
Matt and the rest of the fairies nodded in agreement.
"Heads up!" Wicka called out to her passengers. "We're approaching Pastel Square."
Matt and the fairies heard Wicka and then looked around to see where the town is. The moment everyone on the boat was coming up around the river's bend, there, in a small distance, is the town Pastel Square.
"That must be it," Tint said and confirmed.
"Hang on girls, I'm coming," Matt thought in his head.
In a few seconds, the gang on the boat is approaching the wharf of the town, however…
"Oh no…" Wicka said in little fear as she spotted something at the waterfront. She then put the motor to a complete stop.
Matt and the fairies knew why Wicka got scared as they too see at the wharf are a small group of Meany Blots who are on guard. The evil black humanoid blobs also carried spears and blades as their weapons.
"Oh great, Meany Blots-miru," Milk said in disappointment.
"There's no way we can defeat them-ropu." Syrup worried.
"But we have to get into the town to save the Pretty Cures," Matt demanded.
"Yeah, but we don't want to get caught," Tint noted. "How are we going to get past them?"
Matt thinks for a moment, and then he turns to Wicka. "Wicka, is there another way we can get into Pastel Square?"
"There is," Wicka replied calmly. "There is a small dock on the far side of the town. Hold on." Wicka turns on the motor and guided everyone on the boat to another path on the river.
As the gang kept floating down the detour river path, they came upon some trees in the water with their thick branches and limbs close to the river's surface. The gang on the boat went into the trees and kept moving forward.
In a matter of moments, the group got out of the trees and arrived at a small wooden dock. The dock is leading to a stone walkway with two massive buildings on both sides of the path. Wicka slowed the boat down and carefully docked. Matt and the fairies then exited the boat and stepped onto the wooden dock.
"Well, this is all I can do for you, youngsters," Wicka said in relief.
"You're not coming along?" Tint pondered.
"I could, but I'm too old to handle any dangerous situations. I leave the rest to you. But I wish you the best of luck, and please be very careful."
"We will, Wicka," Matt replied calmly, "and thanks for the ride."
"My pleasure." Wicka grinned, and then she turned the motor on as she parted off from dock and heads back to her cabin. "Take care, kids."
"Thanks Wicka!" Natts said with a smile. "You be careful too-natsu."
As soon Wicka disappears into the trees and out of the gang's sight, Matt and the fairies turned around looked at the scene. A stone path between a row of houses is leading further into Pastel Square, but the streets are quiet as a ghost town.
"Well, this is it," Matt said in little fear. "Are you guys ready?"
"We are born ready-miru." Milk replied with little confidence.
"C'mon team, let's go save those Pretty Cures."
Everyone agreed with Matt's decision, and the gang ventured into the streets of Pastel Square.
Minutes passed as Matt, and the fairies embarked further deep into Pastel Square. The streets are narrow, and the buildings are big and tall. The gang looked around every corner and bend, making sure no Blot is in sight. Fearing and anticipating what's coming up around the next corner, Matt and gang are fully prepared and on guard for their safety. Then they came upon a vast opening leading to a big opening zone.
"Hey, I see something up ahead-ropu," Syrup noted.
"What is it?" Matt asked.
The gang is coming up close to the opening vicinity. As soon as they all arrived, the group got a glimpse of the scene. The place has a majestic fountain spouting water all around it. The streets are paved with smooth asphalt with classical street light posts on the sidewalks. There are a plethora of two-story buildings down on every road, and each structure consists of a small iron balcony on the second floor. All the buildings looked like the French-quarter style. There's even a red trolley, not operated and parked, on the street.
"Whoa, such a cool place-miru," Milk said in a little surprise.
"Wowzers, it feels like I'm in New Orleans," Matt commented.
"Huh? What's New Orleans-coco?" Coco wondered.
Matt heard him, and Matt gives Coco a weird look on his face. "Uh, I'll explain that later," Matt replied. "But right now, let's find those Pretty Cure girls."
Every fairy agreed with Matt, and the gang continued the search for the kidnapped Pretty Cure girls.
Matt and the fairies started walking down a street that looked quiet and didn't have a lot of Blot guards. The further they walked down the road, the gang looked around at the buildings that are lit up inside, but no civilians are in them. The whole town is deserted.
"Where is everyone-ropu?" Syrup worried.
"I betcha the Blots already kidnapped the residents here in Pastel Square-miru," Milk suggested.
"Well, stay on guard," Matt warned the fairies. "We're still wanted that we have the Wonder Colors."
Suddenly, Tint makes a jolting freeze and gasped. Everyone else heard her. "What's the matter?" Matt asked. Tint pointed very fast. Everyone looked, and the gang all gasped.
Far away in their sight, they see two Blot patrollers with flashlights coming towards the gang. The two Blots continuously wave their flashlights to see if there are escaped people or intruders prowling about. As the Blots kept approaching, Matt and the fairies had to think fast.
"What do we do-natsu?" Natts quietly panicked.
"Back up," Matt responded and commanded. "We'll take another route if we head back."
The gang started to turn around and retraced their steps by taking a detour. However, the moment the gang turned around, another Blot with a flashlight came out from an intersection that is not far from the group. While the third Blot looks around for any people, Matt and the fairies panicked as they are trapped.
"We're surrounded!" Tint panicked.
"What are we going to do-coco?" Coco frightened.
"I don't want to get caught again-miru." Milk said in fright.
Matt looked all around the area to find a place to hide from the patrolling Blots. He then spotted alleyway not far him and the fairies. With no time to waste, Matt acted fast. "Quick, follow me," Matt commanded. He leads the way, and the fairies followed him from the rear.
Matt and the fairies hid behind a couple of trash can barrels to avoid being spotted. Once the gang hid, the three patrolling Blots came together and gave the report of their guard route. The black minions told each other there is nothing out of the ordinary. As the Blots are distracted, Matt and the fairies are still hiding and quietly watched the Blots.
"Whew, that was close," Tint said in relief.
"They almost saw us-ropu," Syrup said and almost panicked.
Matt then makes another command, "Let's back into the shadows, until the Blots are gone."
Everyone agreed with Matt's decision as they all slowly and quietly walked backward away from the Blot patrollers. Step by step, the gang sneakily stepped in the shadows of the alley. The moment Matt took another step back…
Squish! "Yeeooowww!"
Matt and the fairies jolted in fright and turned around to see who screamed. Stood in front of them are Tone and Tarte rubbing his injured tail.
"That really hurts," Tarte said in pain.
"Tarte! Tone-miru!" Milk said with glee.
Tarte and Tone looked up and noticed Matt and the fairies' presence. "Matthew, Coco, Natts, Syrup, Milk, and Tint," Tarte said in a little amazement.
"What are you doing here?" Tone asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," Matt replied.
"Gwop-po?" Suddenly, Matt heard one of the Blots' voice, and he turned around. While hiding, Matt noticed that the three Blot patrollers heard Tarte's scream. The blackguards were curious to know what caused the noise, and one of them decided to check it out. A Blot is approaching the gang in the alley.
"Oh no!" Tint panicked again. "He's coming!"
"What are we gonna do?" Tarte said in fright.
Matt had to think fast as he looked around the vicinity. He discovered that the alley leads to a path around the corner. Matt reacts, "Quick guys! Follow me." Matt leads the way as the fairies followed him from behind. Matt and the fairies went around the corner and deeper into the dark alley as the Blot comes closing into the alley.
As soon Matt and the fairies made the turned from the corner, they all turned shocked to find out that they come across a dead-end of a building's backside.
"Oh no! We're trapped!" Tone panicked.
"Now what do we do-ropu?" Syrup said in a panic.
Matt turned around to see the Blot's flashlight ray approaching and coming near the corner of the alley. Matt panics and breathes heavily, not knowing what to do now.
"Guys," Matt calls to the fairies, "I'm afraid I'm at my wit's end."
"No, this can't end like this!" Tint cried and shivered in fright.
It seems the gang's rescue is going to be a failure, but…
"Psst! Kid!" Just then, a manly voice shouted out to Matt and the fairies. The gang heard and looked around to find the source. They kept looking around the alley's vicinity until a door of a building creaked opened in their sight. Popping out from the door is a thick white hand that's waving to the gang to come forth. "In here, kids. Hurry!" Matt and the fairies didn't have any time to ask who's calling them, so they dashed inside the building and closed the door.
The Blot patroller appeared and arrived on the scene from the corner. Using his flashlight, he looked around the dead-end alley. But all the Blot sees is trash cans, garbage boxes, sides of the significant buildings, and emergency stairways. The Blot became confused and assumed that maybe it was rats that caused the noise. With that in mind, the Blot shrugged and returned to the other Blots. He left the alleyway and disappeared.
Once the Blot patroller was gone, Matt and the fairies came out of the door they hid and looked out to see if the coast is clear. With no Blot in view, the gang is safe and stepped out in the alley again.
"Whew…! That was close," Tarte said in high relief.
"Too close if you ask me-miru." Milk said while she is a bit scared.
To be sure, Matt peaked around the corner of the alley and looked out into the streets, making sure there are no Blots. The coast is clear.
"We're all good, everyone," Matt stated calmly. "Looks like the Blots left."
"That's a relief," Natts said. He then turns to Tarte. "But I'm surprised Tarte that you are here-natsu."
"Yeah," Tint speaks up, "so are you Tone. What happened here, and how did you guys manage to escape?"
"Well, let's just say my escape was fortunate," Tarte stated. "All because of Tone."
"Yeah," Tone agreed with a little concern manner, "You see, it all happened when I just arrived in Pastel Square…" Then Tarte and Tone's flashback came into their heads as Tone's continues to explain.
'I came to Pastel Square to study about this place. The only problem is, once I arrived, the whole place is deserted, and I didn't know why. I looked to see if there were any signs of residents. There was nobody, the hotels, the shops, and the cafes…nothing. Not one single soul in sight.'
'I kept looking around until I encountered a Blot who didn't see me. I freaked out and hid somewhere safe. I was terrified until I heard a girl's cry. Curious to know, I followed to where the cry was coming from. As I got close, I then spotted the source and another problem. There I saw all the Pretty Cure girls and the fairies trapped in cages on pulling wagons. And all the Blots including that pink menace Scribbelle is surrounding the team.'
'I heard them talking, so I quietly and sneakily flew closer and hid from being spotted. And this is what they said:'
"You'll never get away with this!" Setsuna shouted angrily as she holds onto the cage's bars.
"On the contrary, kid, I did, and I will again," Scribbelle mocked and retorted.
"What do you mean?" Aguri questioned as she has a pouted face.
"Your young man friend still has the Wonder Color Case. He has to give it to me."
"What!?" Hime said in surprise, "Why would he give you what you want?"
"Because Miss Princess, I have what he wants…you."
Scribbelle snickered a little, and then she started laughing evilly. The Pretty Cure Team felt utterly hopeless. With their magical and transformation items confiscated and trapped like mice, there's nothing the heroines can do. The fairies are also felt sorrow and sulk.
'I was really shocked and horrified. I never thought the Pretty Cures would get captured by a general Blot. Just when I was about to get help, I overheard that Scribelle talking to one her Blot men.'
"Alright boys," Scribbelle ordered the goopy henchmen, "Take these pathetic frilly kids to the tavern. They'll be very suitable over there to be my perfect slaves." The Blots saluted as they about to push and pull the caged team to their destination.
'The caged fairies are the end of the train of wagons, but I thought to myself, if the Pretty Cures can do anything if they believe in themselves, then so can I. With that said, I dashed and sneakily got to the caged fairies. Once I arrived, the caged fairies noticed my presence.'
"Tone!" Ribbon quietly shouted. "What are you doing here-desu wa?"
"Shh!" Tone shushed Ribbon, "I'm going to get you outta here. How do I get yourselves out?"
"There's a latch on top of each cage that's held down with a peg-dabi." Davi explained, "Pull it them out, and we can escape-dabi."
"Right, I'm on it." Tone replied.
"Get me out first since I'm on the top," Tarte commanded.
'I heard Tarte's plea and quickly went to his cage. I then spotted the peg holding the latch and try, with all my might, to pull the peg out of the latch. Slowly but surely, the peg started to move out of the latch. But suddenly, the wagon tripped and rolled over a little pothole on the road, causing the wagon to tumble a little. But that little tumble caused not me to lose my balance, but the whole caged with Tarte in it too. The cage then toppled off the wagon and crashed landed on the road. The crash impact caused the peg to loosen which opened the lid to Tarte's cage. He is free, but he and I felt a little hurt from the landing.'
'However, the Blots and Scribbelle heard the crashing sound as they all came to a halt.'
"What was that?" Scribbelle questioned firmly. "Check it out." The Blots nodded and investigate the noise.
'Tarte and I try to recover from the crash.'
"Hey, you okay?" Tarte asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Tone replied as he rubs his head.
"Gwop-Po!"
'Suddenly, we heard a Blot and turned to it to notice that we are being spotted. Without hesitation, we made a daring escape and into the alleyways of Pastel Square.'
"Run! Don't look back-lapi!" Flappy shouted.
"Hurry! And find help-nya!" Hummy called out.
The Pretty Cure girls noticed Tarte and Tone's escape. Scribbelle noticed too, but she saw her Blot minions are starting to go after them.
"Let them go, guys," Scribbelle halted her minions. The Blots heard her call. "They're no big deal. This way, they'll find that weak gentleman and bring the Wonder Colors to me." The Blots understood Scribbelle's words. She then ordered her Blot minions to continue carrying the captive Pretty Cure team to tavern destination.
'We hid in a safe place. And after watching the heroine team being taken away, we looked at each other and nodded in agreement. Tarte and I then continued down the streets and alleyways as we escape and search for you, Matt…'
"…And that's how we got here, and you found us," Tone said as he completes his flashback story.
"Well, the one good thing I liked from you is that the girls are still alive," Matt said with relief.
"Yeah," Tint agreed, "but the problem now is where the tavern is in this town."
"Did you get a clue where the girls and the tavern are in Pastel Square-coco?" Coco wondered.
"In our great rush to escape from the Blots, unfortunately not," Tarte said in little remorse.
Natts crossed his arms. "We really need to rescue them, but where can we find that tavern-natsu," Natts said in concern.
"If only we can find someone who knows Pastel Square very well," Tone suggested.
Taking from Tone's advice, Matt agrees to with Tone's thought as he thinks and looks around for clues and leads to find a resident of the town. He then came up to a cracked window as a reflection of himself appeared on it. Matt stares at himself for a few seconds…
"Hey, there boss man!" A white-body person appeared in the window with Matt's reflection.
Matt jolted in a big fright. He didn't scream but quickly turned around and have his fists tight prepared to fight back. Matt assumed the white-body person is right behind him. But to Matt's little surprise, the man wasn't behind Matt. He looked back at the window with the white man on it.
"Oh, ho, ho…, I love doing that," the man laughed as he speaks in a New York accent. "Sorry kid didn't mean to scare ya." the white man then came out of the window and makes everyone frightful looks on their faces.
Appearing before Matt and the fairies is a ghost. A spectrum who has bulgy arms and legs, a hefty stomach, his height about the same as Matt's, he wears a magenta bowtie and a dank purple top hat, his nose is big and round, his eyes are round and big, and he has a snickering grin on his face.
"Please to meet ya fellas," the ghost said as he raised his hat.
"A gh-gh-gh-ghost-coco!" Coco said in fright. Tarte, Natts, and Syrup are also getting the shivers by seeing the phantom in their sight.
"Don't panic, Coco," Tone speaks. "He's a friendly ghost."
"Really-ropu?" Syrup asked.
"How'd you know he's a kind ghost?" Tint asked Tone.
"As a fairy who studies all about Spectrum Land, I read and learned that Pastel Square is home for docile ghosts," Tone replied with a grin on his face.
"That's right, bub," The ghost replied with a wink. "And I'm not the only friendly ghost here. Every ghost in this lively town is friendly as far as the eye can see. Or it was. I'm Boobert, by the way, and I'm the mayor of Pastel Square for many years. At your service." Boobert then took a bow.
"Boobert huh?" Matt replied as he speaks to the ghost mayor, "Nice to meet you. I'm Matthew, you can call me Matt for short. And these are Coco, Natts, Syrup, Milk, Tint, and Tone." Matt then makes a curious look on his face. "So, what do you mean it was a lively town. What happened here? And why Blots are patrolling the area?"
Boobert replies calmly and worriedly, "Well kid, Pastel Square is home to the finest pastel artwork and wild parties here in this bright town. But then one day, those nasty and gruesome Blots came over to our town and conquered our home. Everybody in this town has fled away to safety while a few have been captured by those disgusting and yucky black blobs. I called every ghost in this town to make sure the human citizens are secured and safe from those black goons."
"So that explains why this whole place is deserted except for those Blots," Tint commented.
"Yep, and if it wasn't for me, that Blot guard would've caught ya and took ya guys for prisoners."
"That means you're the guy that helped us and hid us into safety," Tarte stated.
"That's right, little guy." Boobert winked at Tarte, but then he makes a concerned look to Matt and the fairies. "But what are you kids doing here? This place is dangerous now that those treacherous Blots are about."
"We can't turn around and go back," Tint speaks firmly, "The reason why we are here is that we're rescuing our Pretty Cure friends. They need our help."
"Pretty Cure, you say? You mean the legendary heroines who come to save our home planet Spectrum Land?"
"Yeah, only this time they've been captured by Scribbelle and her cohorts, and we've come here to rescue them. Have you seen them?"
Boobert taps his round and big chin as he thinks. "Pretty Cures… Pretty Cures… hmm…"
Matt speaks and clarifies, "Right now, they look like girls in their civilian form. They each have their own colorful clothes on, but together in a group, they look sort of like a rainbow mix."
"Ah! Now I get ya, Bub. You mean those poor sweet girls that were trapped in the cages by the Blots?"
"Yes, that's it!" Tint exclaimed, "Exactly from Tone's statement."
"Yeah, I saw dem, but there's no way for those cute gals to escape in those tough cages," Boobert said in little sorrow. "I couldn't believe those are the Pretty Cures that are supposed to save Spectrum Land. They look like they're in a real sticky jam."
"Which is why we came here to rescue them," Matt exclaimed. "According to Tone, that Blot General Scribbelle said they're being taken to a tavern for her slaved workers. Do you know where the tavern is?"
"The tav you said, kid?" Boobert raised his right eyebrow in a little shock. "Yeah, I know where it is, and it's the only and biggest tavern we've got in Pastel Square. But the tav is about three miles from here. How are you supposed to get there with all these Blots roaming at every street and block?"
"Yeah Matt," Syrup agrees with Boobert, "This place is now packed with Blots. We'd be sticking out like a sore thumb if one of them sees us-ropu."
Understanding and acknowledging Boobert and Syrup's warnings, Matt thinks of a plan of how to slip passed the Blot guards and patrollers. He then slowly walks in a small circle while he thinks.
Matt then speaks, "Well…, if every Blot is out on the ground and streets patrolling their own area, then getting passed them will be risky. We need another approach to where we won't be seen so easily." That's when Matt blinked and then looks at the fire escape ladders. Finally, an idea struck into Matt's head. "Which is why there is another way."
"What is it?" Tint eagerly asked.
Matt pointed to the fire escape ladders. "Hey Boobert, can you lower the ladders to us?"
"Sure thing boss man, but why?" Boobert replied and wondered.
"Trust me…"
Boobert shrugged and makes a confused look, but he did what Matt asked. He then flies up to the lowest level of the fire escape ladders, and then he lowers the ladder to the ground. With the ladder down, Matt gets near it as he grabs the ladder with his left hand.
He then looked at the fairies. "Follow me, everyone," Matt commanded. Matt then started climbing and ascending the fire escape ladders.
The other fairies followed Matt up the ladders. "Where are we going?" Tarte asked Matt.
"You'll see," Matt replied.
The gang, with Boobert involved, kept ascending the fire escape ladders until they've reached the rooftop of the building. Once everyone arrived at the top, they all got a good look at all Pastel Square's roofs.
"So, why are we up here-miru?" Milk asked.
"I tell you now," Matt said with little confidence. "The Blots are always patrolling on the streets, I assume. Therefore, the only place where they at least expect us to find us is on the rooftops. So you see, we can use these rooftops to get to the tavern with less chance of being seen. Plus, with all those streetlights on the ground blinding them, it'll be hard for the Blots to spot us up here since we're in the darkness of the night."
"What a stroke of genius, Matt," Tone said with a smile.
"Yeah, I never thought of it like that-coco," said Coco. "But you Matt have come up with a great idea from that mind of yours-coco."
"I like ya kid," Boobert said with a cheeky grin. "You sure know how to teach an old ghost new tricks."
"With that being said, let's get to that tavern," Matt commanded. "Boobert can you lead the way?"
"Of course kid, but you got to remember, one slip and you could break a bone. You understand me, kid?"
"Loud and clear mayor. And I'll be extra careful."
"Great, follow me everyone."
Boobert then flies and guides the unlikely heroes the way to the tavern. While Tint, Tone, and Boobert can fly, Matt and the other fairies sneakily walk and run over the buildings' rooftops and jump over the small gaps to the next building's rooftop. The Blots kept patrolling the area without noticing Matt and the others on the roofs.
The team kept on going until Boobert comes to a halt making the team stop.
"Boobert, what's wrong?" Tint asked.
Boobert pointed out the situation. In everyone's view, there's a huge street, about a ten yards gap, and another row of buildings on the other side of the road. There are two Blots guards, facing away from each other and about thirty feet apart, standing on the massive street.
Boobert begins to explain, "The tavern is on the other side of this big street. We need to get across. But I don't see how you Matt kid and little young ones are going to reach the other side."
"I can turn into a giant passenger carrier bird if that's okay-ropu?" Syrup suggested.
"You can do that?" Tone asked in a little shock.
"Sure, I can transform into a giant bird for some time-ropu."
"Well, you better not," Matt said. Syrup blinked in shock and confusion. "If you do that, then it's easier for the Blots to spot you in the air. The bigger you are, the more you stick out like a sore thumb." With that in mind, Syrup agreed Matt's point of view as he makes a sweat-drop on his head.
"Well, we need to get across," Milk stated. "But how-miru?"
"There's no way we can reach to the other side with just one big leap," Tarte said in concern.
Matt wasn't giving up. He then puts on his thinking cap again as he looks around the rooftops to solve the situation. In a few seconds, Matt spotted a pole with a thick rope tied on the top of the pole. He then follows the rope that leads to another pole on a rooftop. The rope line from the pole from Matt's end to the other pole had a downward slope that's not too steep.
"Hey Boobert," Matt called out to him as Matt gets near to the pole. Boobert heard Matt, and every fairy and the ghost mayor followed Matt. "What's with this line?"
"Oh, that's one of those banner line poles," Boobert stated. "The thick and sturdy rope holds the banner posts or decorations whenever we trim the town on a certain celebratory event."
Matt then examines the thick rope with his right hand as he rubs on it. "How strong is this rope?" Matt asked.
"I'd say it can hold the weight of a 200-pound anchor. Why'd you asked?"
After that statement, an idea struck to Matt's head again. Matt quickly grabs his messenger bag and takes a piece of cleaning cloth. He then ties the fabric to the strap of his messenger bag. Once the cloth is securely fastened, Matt then detaches one of the straps' end hooks from his bag. He tosses the strap over the rope and then reattaches the hook onto his bag again. Matt made his messenger bag hooked onto the rope. Matt made sure the cloth is precisely underneath the strap. He held tightly onto his bag.
"What are you doing Matt-ropu?" Syrup asked.
"We're going to glide across the street," Matt explained.
"Of course!" Tint said in surprise, "Using your messenger bag like a zip line carrier, we can get across the big gap with ease."
"Matt Oda, you really do have a brain," Tone complemented.
"Are you sure it's safe-coco?" Coco asked in concern.
"I'm pretty sure," Matt replied, "but I can't wait and do nothing. The girls need our help now." Matt turned to the fairies. "Hop onto me, everyone."
The fairies heard and nodded as Tarte and Syrup got onto Matt's back, Coco and Natts got into Matt's bag, and Milk hopped onto Matt's head. Tint, Tone, and Boobert can fly over the big gap. Matt took one look at the other end of the rope before he takes off. Matt then grips the strap of his bag tightly and takes a quick deep breath.
"Hang on…" Matt warned the faires. The fairies gulped.
Matt then quickly got his feet off the roof. In an instant, the whole gang started sliding down the rope line at fast speed. Tint, Tone, and Boobert flew and followed behind Matt. Matt and the fairies held tightly as they continued to zip line down to the other end of the rope. As soon as the gang got close to the other end, Matt sticks his feet out to embrace and prepare a landing. Matt finally landed safely on the roof and grabs the pole to stops himself. After the safe landing, Matt and the fairies exhaled in relief.
"Wow, what a ride," Tarte said in a little shock.
Matt detaches one of the straps' hook to unhook the strap from the rope and then reattaches his strap back onto his messenger bag again. Matt then unwraps the cloth and puts it back into his bag.
"Everybody okay?" Matt asked for everyone's safety.
"Yeah," Milk replied, "but I think that was fun-miru."
"Seriously-natsu?" Natts said in exasperation.
"Nice job Matt," Boobert said with a grin. "Now that we made it, let's continue."
Matt gives a thumbs-up, and the fairies nodded. Boobert led the way, and Matt and the fairies followed him.
Matt and the fairy gang kept following Boobert as they continued to sneakily run over the rooftops. Just then, Boobert came to a halt as Matt and the fairies caught up to him. They all stood next Boobert.
"What's up?" Tone asked.
"Look over there," Boobert said and pointed.
Everyone did look, and there in their view, they see the massive building on a corner of a street. The building is three stories high, and two stories wide. The building's structure is made from everlasting wood. On it has a huge neon lights sign depicting a mug of root beer and a glass of milkshake. There were rows of square windows on the first floor and a few arch windows on the second floor. Lanterns were lit inside, and there is noise coming from inside the building.
"That everybody is the tavern," Boobert explained. "It's called the Pastel Fountain Corner."
"So that's the tavern," Tarte said in curiosity.
"But…, where are the Pretty Cures-coco?" Coco wondered in fear.
Matt acted as he looks for something inside in his bag. Once he found it, he pulled out a small, gray, and hand-size binoculars. He puts it in front of his eyes and adjusts its focus and depth. Once fixed, Matt got a view of the inside room of the tavern. He looked around inside the tavern until…
"There they are," Matt called out. Matt sees the Pretty Cure girls in his telescope view.
"You see them?" Milk said to Matt, "What's going on? What's happening-miru?"
Matt explains the situation inside the tavern, "I see Nozomi, Makoto, and Miki right now. They have chained collars on their necks, and the Blots are controlling the girls. I also see Scribbelle too. She's sitting in a high chair, and of course, she's using the girls as her slaves. Nozomi is fanning her, Miki is massaging her shoulders, and Makoto is serving her drink. Our friends look miserable too, I have to say."
Hearing from Matt's point of view, the fairies became very scared and worried.
"We need to help them." Tint demanded.
"But how-ropu?" Syrup replied and panicked a little. "All those Blots and that Scribbelle are in there-ropu."
"There's no way we can defeat all them-coco," Coco said in fear.
Every fairy looked at each other in great concern. Matt then hummed, grabbing the fairies', including Boobert's, attention.
"What's up, kid?" Boobert asked Matt.
Matt explains, "In my view, the Blots and Scribbelle are putting the girls in a cage that's in the back of the room. I can't see the back very well, but it's my hunch that's where the girls are locked up." Matt then puts his binoculars away and then makes a curious look on his face. "Boobert, is another way to get into the tavern than using the back door?"
"Yeah kid," Boobert replies as he points on the tavern's roof. "On the roof, there's a hatch that's used to get the hot air out of the tavern. You can get in by going to the back of the tavern and climb up the ladder."
"Hmm…" Matt replied as he is intrigued. He thinks again for a moment. After a few seconds of thinking, he turns to the gang and speaks. "I got another idea, everyone."
"You do again, Matt?" Tarte said in awe.
"Yes, but we need is a diversion."
"A diversion?" Tone said in question.
"Yeah, we need someone to distract the Blots, especially Scribbelle, as I make my move from the roof's entrance. If one of you guys can get Scribbelle and the Blots' eyes away from me, I can sneak in and rescue the girls with ease."
"But how are we going to do that?" Tint wondered, "Scribbelle knows us, and she'll capture us in a split second when she sees us."
"Hey, I've got something-coco," Coco said with a grin.
"What is it?" Matt asked.
"Well…" Coco explained the plan to Matt and everyone.
In the tavern, The Blots are enjoying a drinking party while Scribbelle is enjoying her drink as she sits and relaxes in her comfy high back chair. She evilly smirks, and she looks at the captive Pretty Cure girls, who are in a huge metal cage, as the girls looked gloomy and powerless.
"Ah, cheer up pretties," Scribbelle said with a mocking tone. "It's not so bad once you get to used to serving the Blot King and me." Scribbelle takes a sip of her drink before she speaks again. "Who knows…? You might like it. The king might reward you if you join on our side."
"Forget it!" Iona shouted in anger. "That's not going to happen in a million years."
"More like an eternity to be precise." Kanade corrected as she has an angered face.
"Suit yourself," Scribbelle mocked. "I was going to offer you some refreshments for your loyalty, but seeing and hearing you act like that, I changed my mind."
Every Pretty Cure girl stared in great anger at Scribbelle and her Blot minions. There was nothing they can do. The rest of the fairies are locked in cages too as they are stacked on a table and shelf. And all the transformation items are locked inside a chest that's on top of a barrel. Feeling disappointed, the girls feel that there's no hope for them to save Spectrum Land.
"I would never think I'd be this hopeless to be in this jam," Nao said with sorrow.
"Yeah," Akane agreed as she feels worried, "it's like a miracle has to happen for us to get us out of this mess."
"(Sigh)…Where's Matthew?" Urara said in little grief, "I hope he didn't abandon us for his own safety."
"Don't think like that," Yuri said in a firm tone. "Matt's bound to come and rescue us for sure."
"How do you know?" Erika asks.
"Because he's not only a gentleman, he's part of the team. And being part of the team means being a good and true team player." Yuri then calmly grins to everyone. "And…, from the way I see in him. He's a young man who never gives up easily."
"Yuri is right, everyone," Tsubomi agreed. "We must believe in Matt. I know he will come to our rescue."
"Gwop-po!"
Suddenly, a Blot guard called out, grabbing Scribbelle and the Pretty Cure team's attention. "What is it?" Scribbelle asked in an evil and little annoyance manner. The Blot guard then waves its hand to let something inside the tavern. Coming inside and through the swinging front doors, are two young men and a young teen boy. Following behind the three guys is a Blot with a spear holding and pointing at the men.
The first man had white skin with brown hair. He wears a white long-sleeve button shirt, long blue pants, and white and blue shoes. The second man has tan skin with beige hair who wears a red long-sleeve shirt with a greenish-brownish vest over it, dark long blue pants with a belt around his waist, and wears hiking boots. Lastly, the young teen boy has white skin with light brown. He wears a long-sleeve dark brown shirt on the inside with an orange double pocket shirt on the outside, and he has a red tie around his neck. The young teen boy also wears long gray pants and brown slip-on shoes.
The Blot explained to his general about the two men and the boy. "So, you found these three guys walking down the streets like they're looking for something?" Scribbelle said as she repeated what the Blot told her. The Blot replied with a nod. Scribbelle then became suspicious and curious about the three guys. She then gets closer to them. The three men noticed her presence before her.
"What are you doing in my town, and who are you?" Scribbelle asked with a demanding tone.
One of the Pretty Cure girls noticed the guys realizing who they really are. Komachi saw as she speaks, "Hey.., isn't that Na—"
"(Shh!)" Syrup, who is the young teen boy and sees the Pretty Cure girls in the cage, shushed Komachi warning her not expose Syrup and the two men's disguises in their human forms.
No doubt to Komachi that she knows Syrup is the boy while Coco is the man with brown hair and Natts with the beige hair. The other Pretty Cure girls noticed and realized the two men and the teen boy.
But Nozomi, who sees them, became surprised as she says, "What the…!? Co—" Slap! Suddenly, her friends Rin and Karen covered Nozomi's mouth from exposing Syrup and the two men's real identities.
Scribbelle continued to talk in a commanding tone, "So who are you guys?"
"We were passing by and just looking for a place to stay for the night," Coco said in his manly voice.
"A place to stay, huh?" Scribbelle said in a sarcastic tone. "Well, here's the thing. This is my town and my rules. So, I'm giving you two options. One, you can stay here and be my eternal slaves forever, or two, get out of town and out of my sight before I turn you guys into prisoners."
"Come on ma'am, have a heart," Natts said in his manly voice. "I'm sure a pretty girl like you would give us a spare chance for us to stay here at least one night."
Scribbelle then blinked in surprise when Natts called her 'pretty.' "You think that I'm pretty?" She said with little shyness.
"Of course dear," Coco said with a confident grin. "I mean, who doesn't like a girl with such a cute look."
Scribbelle's face became redder by reacting to Coco's sweet but insincere compliments. "Gee, I'm not that cute," she said timidly.
"And I've to say, that hairstyle of yours really makes it attractive."
"Oh, really…, gee… thanks." Scribelle now became infatuated by Coco's words.
Syrup rolled his eyes, and Natts looked to the side in little grief. All the Blots, including the Meany Blots, stared at each other in confusion, but then they all got involve and started to enroll the scene. The Pretty Cure girls, including the other trapped fairies, observed the scene and made disgust faces.
Outside of the tavern, Boobert watches Coco and the other fairies in their human forms, getting Scribbelle's attention. For sure, in his mind, Boobert then quickly flies and dashes to the top of the tavern's roof. On the roof, he meets Matt, Tarte, Milk, Tint, and Tone, who are near the hatch.
"She took the bait, hook, line, and sinker kid," Boobert said with a grin, a wink, and a thumbs-up.
"Alright," Matt said with a grin, "now we make our move."
Matt then points to Boobert first. Boobert saluted, and then he went through the roof and opens the hatch from the inside of the tavern. Once the hatch is unlocked, Matt then pulls it. There is a bendable metal stand to hold the hatch open. "All clear," Boobert called Matt and the fairies. Matt nodded, and then he slowly crept inside through the hatch and into the tavern. The other fairies followed behind him.
Once inside, Matt steps on a supporting platform near the roof of the tavern. After the fairies got inside, Matt closes the hatch on the roof. Matt then laid his body on the platform and crept quietly. The fairies crept their tiny paws quietly, and Boobert floats cautiously not to be seen. The gang crept slowly until they've reached the other end of the platform and a ladder. Matt climbs down the ladder, and the fairies followed him behind. The gang arrived on the second floor of the tavern, where the floor contained boxes for drinking supplies, barrels of alcoholic drinks, and extra sitting furniture such as chairs. Matt and the gang crept closer to the floor's parapet as they checked and looked at the situation. In their view, they see Coco and the other two guys still distracting Scribbelle and the Blots.
"Coco and the guys are doing very well," Tarte stated.
"Yeah," Matt agreed, "I didn't know that those three can also change into human forms beside Milk."
"Now you know-miru," Milk said.
"So, what now?" Tint asked.
Matt explained to the team, "I'll move in closer to the Pretty Cures while you fairies back me up to prevent any alarms and noises that'll spot me. Boobert, you'll be my guide around this tavern. Is everybody clear?"
"Yes," Everyone agreed.
"Just be very careful, Matt," Tone said in concern.
"Don't worry," Matt replied in a firm tone, "you just be careful yourself." Matt then turns to Boobert. "Boobert, is there another way down to the base floor beside using the stairs?"
"There is kid," Boobert replies. He then flies to the back of the storage floor, where he showed Matt and the fairies a pulley and an open square hole. "You can use this pulley to get down to the floor without being spotted. This leads into the back of the tavern's dining room."
After hearing from Boobert, Matt first checked through the hole to make sure no Blot is standing near the ropes of the pulleys. When no Blot is in sight, Matt then grabs the two ropes as he hangs himself over the hole. He finally starts descending through the hole and onto the base floor. Matt quietly and landed safely on the floor.
With Matt on the first floor in the back, he then lay his body up against the wall preventing him from being seen. He creeps along the wall until he reaches the corner. As he slowly peeks his out around the corner, he got a glimpse. In front of him fortunately, are the trapped Pretty Cure girls who are watching Coco and the other's diversion. Matt also noticed the bartender's counter just a few inches away from him. Acting fast, Matt quickly got behind and ducked at the bar.
Once he is safe, Matt needed to call the girls' attention, but he doesn't want to shout or frighten them by surprise. Matt looked around the counter until he spotted a bowl of lemons on the counter's shelves. Matt knew what to do. He grabbed a lemon and prepares to throw it at the girls. He aimed at Hibiki's back of her head since she is close to Matt. He flicked and threw the lemon and hit directly on Hibiki.
"Ow…" Hibiki said in pain. She turned to see who or what hit her. To her amazing surprise, she sees Matt, who is waving at her. "Ah! Matthe—"
"Shh!" Matt shushed at Hibiki. She realized and then quickly covers her mouth, not create a loud noise.
Matt looked around to see if there weren't any Blots near the trapped Pretty Cures. The coast is clear, so Matt crept quietly to the cage. Hibiki got close to Matt.
"Boy Matt, I'm so glad to see you," Hibiki said quietly.
"Me too," Matt replied, "but I need you to do me a favor." Matt then whispered into Hibiki's ear.
After Hibiki heard Matt's request, she turned to the other Pretty Cure girls. She taps Kanade's shoulder, grabbing her attention. Hibiki then quietly whispered into Kanade's ear. Kanade widens her eyes after hearing Hibiki, but then she passes the message to Ako, who is next to Kanade. Ako heard Kanade's words, then Ako passes the message to Ellen. After Ellen, she gives it to the next Pretty Cure girl. Soon every Pretty Cure girl listened to the secret message.
It was then that four Pretty Cure girls in a line cover the front of the cage, and two Pretty Cure girls each on the sides. The six continued to stare forward toward the Coco and the other human fairies, Scribbelle, and the Blots. The six girls created an obscure wall while the others turned around and meet Matt eye-to-eye whispering.
"Matthew Oda, good to see you again," Nozomi said with joy.
"We knew you come for us," Aguri said a grin.
"Don't be happy yet," Matt said with little concern. "I still need to get you guys out of this cage. Is there a lock?"
"Yeah, over here, Matt," Honoka replied and shows the lock.
Matt followed Honoka to the side of the cage, and they both came across the door to the cage. Honoka pointed to a padlock on the door. Only one disappointment for Matt is that the lock is a combination lock.
"Drat, I don't know the numbers to this lock," Matt said in grief.
"Now, what do we do, Matt?" Rikka said as she kept her stance forward and not moving her body.
Matt thinks for a second. He then analyzes the cage and its bars. That's when a theory came into his mind and speaks, "The bars on this cage isn't that durable. Perhaps you break out of this cage with your Pretty Cure powers."
"No-can-do, Matt," Nao said regretfully. "Scribbelle took all of our transformation devices."
"Yeah, including Mepple, Mipple, and Porun in their transformation item forms," Nagisa said.
"Flappy and Choppy as well," Mai followed up.
"Where are they?" Matt asked.
Karen pointed out for Matt. Matt looked. "You see that chest on that barrel at the wall?" Karen told Matt, "They're all in that chest, but it's a long walk from here, and you'll be out in the open."
"You're going to get caught," Inori said in little concern.
"Don't you worry, girls," Matt replied calmly. "I made it this far. You young ladies just be quiet while I'll get your devices."
Everyone felt very worried about Matt, but they all slowly nodded, acknowledging Matt's plan. "Be very careful," Yayoi warned him.
Matt then stepped away from the cage and hid behind a huge crate from being seen by the enemy. While hiding, Matt calls quietly out to Boobert. "Boobert, Boobert…, you there?" he called.
Boobert then appeared from the second floor with his head through the floor. "I'm here kid, what's up?" Boobert asked.
Matt waves his hand to bring Boobert closer. The ghostly mayor floats and gets near Matt behind the crate. Matt then explains, "I need to get that chest that's sitting on that barrel." Matt also pointed to the target for Boobert to see it.
"I can get for ya, kid. I can pick it up and bring it to ya."
"No, don't. You might be a ghost, but no offense, your large body may stand out including your ghosting aura appearance. There might be other Blots around here in the shadows that we can't see yet. If they see a part of your ghost aura light taking the chest away, then they'll sound the alarm. I'm the only person here who doesn't give out light and blends in the shadows. I'm going retrieve that chest myself with great caution. Is there a safe approach to get to that chest?"
Boobert looks around to help Matt's problem. He then spotted the enormous supporting wooden pillars that hold the second floor's level. "There is one way, kid," Boobert replies as he points to the pillars for Matt. Matt turns and looks. "You can use those pillars as hiding spots, and those Blots won't see you. They all lead down to the chest."
"That's good enough for me. Tell the fairies, Coco, Natts, and Syrup about my plan, and they will back me up and keep the Blots distracted. You mayor keep your head low."
The ghost mayor makes a worried look on his face, but he gives Matt a thumb's up. Boobert, returns to the second floor via through the floorboards and meets up with Tint, Milk, and the other fairies again. Once Boobert informed Tint, Tarte, and the others, he stealthily heads to Coco and the other human friends, via from the floor, telling about Matt's plan. The three human fairies heard replied with an 'okay' nod.
Matt takes one good look at the chest before he makes the first step. He takes a deep breath and exhales. Matt then moves away from the crate and gets behind a supporting pillar. By peeking around the pillar's huge cylindrical shape, Matt sees Syrup and vice versa. Syrup made sure he would move only his eyes and not his head and body for Matt so the Blots wouldn't turn around to see what Syrup is looking at. Matt signals Syrup with a thumb's up. Once Syrup sees Matt's cue, Syrup only replied with a quick wink for understanding.
Matt then makes his boldest move again. He crept quietly to the next pillar and hides from the Blots and Scribbelle not to be seen. He does the same process from pillar to pillar, getting him closer to the chest.
But while Matt is on the move, a Meany Blot, who is sitting at another far end of the tavern, was eating a bowl of fruit until he got a glimpse of Matt Oda. The Blot gasped to see Matt getting near the chest of the transformation items. It was about to call out to Scribbelle, "Gwop-p—" But suddenly and fortunately, Tarte, Milk, Tint, and Tone appeared and stopped the Meany Blot's shout. The fairies covered the black minion's mouth and restrain its body.
With the Meany Blot silenced, Matt gets closer to the chest undetected. He walks to the next supporting pillar, but…
Creak!
Matt flinched when he stepped on a loose floorboard. Syrup and Natts widen their eyes in a surprise reaction from Matt's slip-up. A Blot nearby heard the sound and is about to turn around.
Syrup reacts fast. "Hey, all of you, Blots," Syrup said in a firm tone. He got every Blot's attention, including the one who is about to turn around. "You think you can win and conquer Spectrum Land? I beg to differ." The Blots got a little irritated by Syrup's insult. "I mean c'mon, I heard the Pretty Cures got a hold of four Wonder Colors, and you got none." A Blot then argues to Syrup as a verbal fight starts. Syrup's distraction worked, and Matt feels a little relieved.
With Coco sweet-talking to Scribbelle, Syrup insulting the Blots, and the fairies holding the Meany Blot tightly, Matt then continues and gets closer to the chest. Within seconds he is a few feet away from the chest. The Pretty Cure girls are in their suspenseful state to see Matt Oda within reach of the chest.
Within inches, Matt takes a leap of faith as he quietly gets near the chest. The chest has a latch that opens by sliding it sideways. He pulls the latch and unlocks the chest. He looked inside to see a bag with a rope tied on it. Without taking the bag out of the chest, Matt unties the rope and looks into the bag. Matt grins a little to see all of the Pretty Cure girls' transformation items. Matt then reties the bag and takes it out of the chest.
Tarte, Tint, and the others kept and restrain the Meany Blot from escaping and yelling. The Blot tries to break free as he kept squirming and rolling around to get the fairies off of him. During the struggle, the Blot kicks the bowl of fruit, sending it into the air, and then… CLANG! The bowl landed near where Matt is standing, causing everyone in the tavern to jolt in surprise.
When Scribbelle heard the loud sound, she starts to turn around to see what it was. The Blots slowly started to follow-up. But when Coco noticed the situation, he quickly made a bold and yet regretful move. "SCRIBELLE!" Coco shouted as he also grabbed everyone's attention. He grabbed Scribbelle's head to turn towards Coco's face, and then…
SMOOCH! Coco kissed Scribbelle on the lips.
Everyone became shockingly disgusted. Matt thought 'Oh, Lord!' in his mind. Nozomi, Miyuki, Rikka, and a few others became mesmerized and stunned by Coco's action that the girls turned into white statues.
The kiss ended as Scribbelle became surprised but gleeful. "Wow…," She said in a giddy mood, "That was…that was…"
Scribbelle looked away from Coco for one moment and noticed something. She looked at a window that shows a reflection in the room. Scribbelle widens her eyes when she sees what's in the reflection…
Matthew Oda holding the bag from the chest.
Matt noticed his reflection presence as he flinched in surprise. "YOOOUUUU!" Scribbelle shouted as she quickly turned to Matt. When Matt is spotted by her, and the Blots turned around and see him, Matt quickly makes a daring escape. "GET HIM!"
Every Blot scrunched their faces as they all leaped toward Matt and try to catch him.
A wild chase came to light as Matt ran as fast as he can to avoid getting caught. He held the bag of the transformation items very tightly, not letting it slip out of his hands.
"Run, Matt!" Setsuna shouted.
"Don't look back!" Iona screamed.
"Watch out!" Tsubomi yelled.
Matt kept running away as he makes quick hard turns to escape from a Blot's catch. Not one Blot has touched Matt Oda yet. He even jumped on top of the tavern's tables and stools to get over the Blots.
"How did you get inside and past my guards!?" Scribbelle shouted in anger.
"You fell for our trick, that's all!" Matt shouted and replied to Scribbelle as he kept dodging the pouncing Blots.
Suddenly, Matt is about to run into a surrounding wall of Blots. With other Blots coming from his back, he is completely cornered. "Oh no, Matt!" Yuko panicked. But Matt reacted fast.
"Coco! Coco!" Matt called out.
Coco heard and sees Matt. In a flash, Matt throws the bag of the transformation items to Coco. The fairy man sees it, and he catches it firmly.
Scribbelle and the Blots see Coco with the bag as Scribbelle became shocked. "What!? You're on HIS side!?" she said in astonishment.
"Unfortunately, yes," Coco replied calmly.
"Wha…Why you…Give me that bag!" The angered Scribbelle then leaps onto the human Coco.
Coco quickly runs away and escapes from Scribbelle. But she and the Blots give chase after Coco. When Coco is about to get caught, he quickly tosses and passes the bag to Natts. When Natts was in the same situation, he throws it to Syrup. Then Syrup throws it to Matt. Soon it became a hot potato game to keep the bag from getting caught by Scribbelle and the Blots. It's a riot in the tavern as Matt and the gang kept on running away with the bag while the Blots are on the gang's tail.
"C'mon Matthew! Give us the devices!" Megumi shouted in a plea.
"Matt! Throw them over here! Throw them over here!" Love screamed.
Matt would hand the devices to the Pretty Cure girls, but with the Blots surrounding the cage, there is no way Matt can get near the girls. All Matt and the human fairies can do is keep running until they see an opportune moment.
Bad luck struck again as Syrup, who has the bag, is trapped in the corner of the tavern. The Blots come closing in on Syrup as he panics in fear. Just when he thinks there was nothing he can do…,
Swipe!
Milk suddenly appeared and grabs the bag making a daring escape. The Blots reacted and see the pink fairy getting away. The black minions went after Milk as they gain upon her. When Milk panicked and is about to be caught, Tarte came leaping out from the side and grabs the bag. He scurries fast to escape from the Blots as the goons were surprised and went after Tarte. But it wasn't long until Tint and Tone appeared too and aided in the chase to help Matt and the rest of the fairy gang. Boobert, who is outside of the tavern, watched in fright from a window as he didn't want to get involved in the mess.
"What are you doing, you good-for-nothing pieces of slobs!?" Scribbelle yelled in great anger. "Get them and the bag! Don't let them slip by you!"
The crazy chase kept going on forever until ill-fated luck struck again, but for good. Matt and fairies are trapped to a wall with a table up against it. Cornered for sure, there's no way to get around the Blots as they all surround the rescue team.
"Oh, perfect…" Matt said in disappointment and fear.
"Oh, no!" Miki said with fear.
"Matt, Coco, Tint, Natts!" Komachi shouted in terror.
"Tarte! Milk!" Love shouted in fear.
"Tint! Tone!" Mai cried.
Scribbelle then appeared from the Blot crowd and in front of Matt and the gang. She then points to Coco with a scrunch on her face. "You tricked me, mister," Scribbelle madly said. "You know this young man that I want him. Who are you?"
Coco, Natts, and Syrup stared at each other in concern, but in their minds, there was no reason to hide the truth from Scribbelle.
"Well Scribbelle, there's no reason for us to deceive you anymore," Coco said as he shrugged. Scribbelle makes a quizzical look on her face after Coco speaks. "You see, we're not humans. We are…"
Poof!
Coco, Natts, and Syrup reverted to their fairy forms. "…Fairies-coco."
Scribbelle turned to shock when she witnessed Coco and the other fairies' true self. "You mean…I kissed…a fairy!?"
Scribbelle then became disgusted, and she spits out the germs from the fairy Coco she kissed. Matt and the fairies became revolted a little by Scribbelle's action. After she finishes spitting, she wipes her mouth clean and stares furiously at Matt.
"You man have really ticked me off, and I'm really steamed," Scribbelle said in great anger. She then snaps her fingers. She ordered a Blot to bring a spear for the Blot general and aims at Matt. "I'm going to kill you for being such a nuisance to me." Matt sweats as the spear is close to his neck. He held the bag behind his back, not letting it go. However, Scribbelle smirks, "…But I wouldn't have to." Matt makes a confused look at why she said that. "You saved me the trouble of finding you, and you foolishly walked right into my hangout."
"What do you mean?" Matt asked in a firm tone.
"I mean, you brought the Wonder Color Case to me, didn't you?"
Matt blinked in realization, knowing that Scribbelle is right. But Matt knew he couldn't leave it behind at Wicka's or to Boobert if they would be spotted by the Blots and capture them. He knew he had to bring the case along with him.
"Yeah, I have it. But I wouldn't give it to you, not even the slightest choice."
"And why is that?" Scribbelle asked curiously.
"You didn't release the girls when I gave you the case. So, why should I give it to you again if you're going to backstab me one more time."
"Matt's right," Tint agreed, "You deceived us really bad, and we're not going to fall for it again."
"Well, this time, I have a deal that will guarantee that you hand over the case…for good." Scribbelle said evilly. Matt and the fairies listened. "If you give it to me, I will let not only the girls go, but you guys as well. But, if refuse, then say your prayers for the last few seconds as I and my faithful cohorts will pierce, slice, and chop you into pulp." To prove Scribbelle's point, every Blot held a spear and a knife in their hands.
Matt and the fairy gang are in a big panic now. The fairies are shaking in fright like they are in a horror movie.
"I really don't want to die," Tint said in a huge terror.
"Matt, you're the brains," Tarte said as he shivered like a blender. "What do we do?"
Matt breathes heavily but tries to remain calm as he looks around the whole tavern finding a way to escape from Scribbelle and the Blot troops. He carefully looked around as he moves only his eyes from corner to corner of his eyeballs. Just then, he spotted something above his head.
Hanging just over Scribbelle and the Blots is a holding platform that contains a pile of bags of flour. The platform is attached by a rope and a pulley wheel. Matt followed the rope's line as it ended to its tied knot on a small wooden pole that's holding the platform. The pole is just behind Scribbelle and the Blots.
"Well mister, what is it going to be?" Scribbelle said with an evil stare.
Matt didn't reply instantly, but he felt something metallic from his right hand while holding onto the bag behind him. Using the back of his fore and middle finger, he feels what the metal object is while touching it. Matt feels a small rectangular blade with a short wooden handle on it. It made him realize that behind him and on the table is a butcher's knife. Matt then slowly grabs the butcher's knife handle, and he starts to reply to Scribbelle.
"I hate to say this Scribbelle," Matt speaks, "but no matter what, my answer is final. I'm not letting you criminals win."
"So be it…" Scribbelle said in an angered mood. She and Blots aimed their weapons at Matt and the gang. The fairies panicked and shook in fear in a quaking matter. The Pretty Cure girls and the captive fairies have horrified looks on their faces as they watch Matt and the fairies are about to get killed. "Any last words, mister?"
"Yeah, two words…" Matt firmly holds onto the butcher's knife, and then… WOOSH! Matt quickly flicked and threw the knife. Scribbelle and the Blots see the blade and swiftly dodges it in its path.
Scribbelle is about to say something insulting to Matt, but…, "Heads up!" After Matt said that, Scribbelle and the Blots turned and looked to see where the knife is heading.
The knife then landed on the pole and cut the rope. With the rope line sliced off from the pole, the platform with the bags of flour began to fall. Scribbelle and the Blots looked up and see the dropping platform. The Blot gang screamed while Matt and the fairies brace for cover.
KAA-BLAAM!
After the crash, a vast and dusty cloud appeared from the flour. It obscured everyone's view.
"Pretty Cure!" Matt shouted.
After a few seconds, the dusty flour cloud started to disappear. Scribbelle and the Blots were covered with flour while Matt and the fairies have a few spots of flour powder on them.
"That's it!" Scribbelle yelled in huge rage, "I'm gonna…!" But she blinked when…, "Wait, where's the bag?"
To the fairies and the Blots' surprise, Scribbelle is right. The bag that Matt had disappeared, and it is nowhere nearby.
"What did you do to it?" Scribbelle wondered.
"Oh, nothing much…," Matt replies calmly. But he cunningly grins, "Except you should be the ones saying the last words now."
Scribbelle makes a confused look. "Huh? What do you mean?"
"Dual Aurora Wave!"
"Luminous! Shining Stream!"
"Dual Spiritual Power!"
"Pretty Cure Metamorphose!"
Scribbelle flinched in great surprise when she heard those words from the Pretty Cures girls. "No…," she said in great fear. Also, every Blot made frightened expressions and shivered in colossal fear.
"Change! Pretty Cure Beat Up!"
"Pretty Cure Open My Heart!"
"Let's Play! Pretty Cure Modulation!"
Tarte, Tint, Coco, Milk, and the other fairies, including the captive ones, smiled to see this miraculous, phenomenal event happened. Matt smiled calmly and has a confident look on his face.
"Pretty Cure Smile Charge!"
"Pretty Cure Love Link!"
"Pretty Cure Dress Up!"
"Pretty Cure Kururin Mirror Changing!"
"Pretty Cure Kirarin Star Symphony!"
Scribbelle and the Blots slowly turned around to the transforming girls. The Blot gang kept their fearful looks as they stare at the girls.
"It…can't…be…" Scribbelle said in fright.
Then a bright and huge aura sphere appeared and surrounds all the Pretty Cure girls. It kept expanding bigger as it pushes and cracks the cage's bars. As the cage is on its last, durable strength… BOOM! The prison cage broke as pieces of the bars went flying everywhere. Everybody braced for protection from the impact of the flying bars. Once the parts of bars stopped flinging around, the magical light slowly disappeared as everyone, Matt, the fairies, and the Blot gang looked. The minute the light faded, Matt and the fairy gang smiled for great happiness, but Scribbelle and the Blots gasped in horror.
Every girl has now transformed into a Pretty Cure warrior.
"Alright!" Cure Sunny shouted with joy.
"We're back and ready to roll," Cure Melody said with a grin.
"It feels good to be out of that stuffy cage," Cure Rosetta said as she stretches her arms.
"Yay! Cure Marine is in the house!" She extremely shouted.
"Take it easy, Marine," Cure Blossom said as she calms Marine down.
Scribbelle mouth dropped in shock, but she shook her head and snaps out of her surprising state. "But how!?" Scribbelle shouted, "How did you…!?"
"It's all because of Matt," Cure Fortune replies with a confident mood. "You were too rash and impatient to get the Wonder Colors that you let yourself defenseless."
"Fortune's right," Cure Moonlight agreed with her as the Pretty Cure warrior of the moonflower explained. "You see, Matt knows how to use his quick-thinking skills and adapt to the situation very well. When the bags of flour landed on you and created a dusty cloud, he used that golden opportunity moment. He shouted to us to grab our attention, and the bag of our transformation devices was flying at us out from the dust. In truth, when you Scribbelle and your minions were blinded by the flour fog, Matt threw the bag to us within the powdery dust he was inside."
"And because of him, we got our transformation devices, and we are Pretty Cure warriors again," Cure Heart stated in proud confidence.
Once Scribbelle heard every word from the Pretty Cures, she dropped her head as she shakes her whole body in a complete rage.
"Well Scribbelle," Matt speaks calmly with his arms crossed, "how does it feel to be outsmarted and deceived, like what you did to me? What goes around, comes around, they say."
Scribbelle didn't reply for a few seconds, but then, "…Shut up…" She suddenly and quickly turned to Matt as she holds the spear. "AND DIE!"
Scribbelle thrusts the spear towards Matt as he quickly covered himself from the attack. Just when Matt is about to get pierced… CLANG! Scribbelle's spear came to a sudden stop as a yellow butterfly chain wrapped and halted the spear. Scribbelle looked and sees Cure Lemonade using her Prism Chain as she pulls hard to stop Scribbelle's attack.
"Don't you dare hurt Matt Oda!" Lemonade shouted.
Lemonade pulled and whisked the spear away from Scribbelle, leaving her unarmed. Scribbelle turned angry as she is about to give an order to her Blots. But suddenly, Cure Ace appeared behind Scribbelle. The general Blot sees Ace, however… BAM! Ace did a round kick and knocked Scribbelle flying into a big barrel of ale. She crashed into the barrel and is soaked in ale.
Scribbelle got up as she is boiling hot like an exploding volcano. Scribbelle yells, "In the name of King Splat, GET THEM!"
Every Blot heard her raging order and charged to the Pretty Cures. The magical heroines charged to the Blots as a fight broke out. A fierce brawl is on the scene, but the Pretty Cures are defeating the Blots with ease.
As the fight went on, Matt Oda frees the other captive fairies that are locked in the cages. He pulls the pegs out of the latches and opens every single cage. The other fairies are free.
"Thanks, Matt-desu wa," Ribbon said.
"Yeah, you're a real friend-kuru." Candy said with joy.
"Ah, no sweat," Matt replied with a grin. "Now, let's get to safety."
But suddenly, a Blot with a knife came leaping forward toward Matt's back and the freed fairies. Tint, Tarte, Milk, and the other fairies noticed the incoming Blot. "Matt! Look out!" Tint shouted. Matt turned around and sees the Blot ambushing him. He covered himself for protection again.
"Sapphire Arrow!" Abruptly, a drill-like water stream popped out from the side and hits the Blot. The black minion disintegrated after the watery attack collided and exploded with the minion. Matt witnessed the scene in front of him, and he looked to the side to see who saved his life. There he sees Cure Aqua smiling at him as her watery bow she held disappears.
"Are you alright, Matt?" Aqua asked.
"Yeah, thanks Aqua," Matt replied in little relief.
Milk appeared before Matt and Aqua as she speaks to Matt, "It's a good thing you saved the Pretty Cures. Otherwise, they wouldn't save you-miru."
"Point taken," Matt replied as he rubs the back of his head.
Then Aqua appeared before Milk, and the pink fairy noticed her. "I do believe this is yours," Aqua said. She then hands Milk her Milky Palette.
"The Milky Palette! My transformation device-miru." Milk then turns into Kurumi, her human form, before she receives her device. "Thanks, Aqua." Aqua smiles for her close friend.
Kurumi quickly activates her device as it makes magical sounds. "Skyrose Translate!" she called. In no time, Kurumi transformed into Milky Rose. Milky Rose turns to Matt with a grin on her face. "And thanks for everything, Matt. You just leave this to us." Matt only winked and gives a thumb's up to the Cures before the two heroines went back into the battle. Matt then escorted the fairies to safety and protection.
The battle kept going, but the Pretty Cures are successfully defeating the Blots. This fallout made Scribbelle really upset. "Grr! Fine!" She yelled, "Time to call some strong reinforcements. Meany Blots attack!" And her strong and conniving Meany Blots grinned evilly and attacked the Pretty Cures. The magical heroines see the incoming strong Blots as they fight back and shield themselves.
Due to Meany Blots' strong strength and quick agility, the Pretty Cures can't fight back. But after Matt saw the situation, he scrunched his eyes and knows what to do. "Looks like the girls need some extra power," Matt stated. He pulled out the Wonder Color Case and opens it. He then calls to the magical and colorful orbs, "Wonder Colors, help the Pretty Cures."
After Matt's request, the Wonder Colors came out of the case, turned into magical aura streams, and sent flying to the Pretty Cures. The fragment streams of the Wonder Colors went into every Pretty Cure warriors' body. The magical orbs granted an extra power-up to the Pretty Cures turning their outfits and hair into green, yellow, blue, and red.
With the aid of the Wonder Colors, the Pretty Cure feels the extra power from the magical orbs as they are pushing the Meany Blots back, making them scared. "Thanks again, Matt!" Cure Egret shouted with a smile.
Different magical attacks were summoned and used from the Pretty Cure warriors.
"Pretty Cure Yellow Emerald Saucer!"
"Pretty Cure Red Sparkling Baton Attack!"
"Pretty Cure Blue Fantastic Piacere!"
"Pretty Cure Green Twin Stream Splash!"
In a matter of seconds, a portion of the Meany Blots disintegrated into ashes.
Scribbelle becomes very, very infuriated. She was about to pull out her reliable weapon, the magic paintbrush she battled from Clay Outpost. She speaks in great anger, "Well! If you want something done right, then—"
But suddenly, Cure Peach, covered and glowing in yellow color, came up behind Scribbelle as the Blot general got startled by her sudden appearance. "This is for deceiving Matt Oda," Peach said in anger. She quickly landed a hard punch on Scribbelle, sending her flying into the fray and screaming in agony.
Scribbelle collided into a small group of Blots as the black minions feel the pain from Scribbelle's collision. They all try to recover, but the moment the enemy stands on their feet, a few Pretty Cure warriors appeared in front of them. A fist brawl broke out as Scribbelle and the Blots are being pounded with bruises all over on them.
The intense brawl kept going as the Pretty Cure warriors are beating the Blots to a pulp. It was then in a few minutes that all the Pretty Cure warriors gave one last 'POW!' as they send every Blot and Scribbelle flying into the air.
The enemy burst out of doors and crashed through the windows of the tavern. They were scattered all over the streets of Pastel Square. After the Blot gang landed in pain, most burst into ashes while a few remained on the ground in total agony.
Scribbelle landed roughly and hard on the cemented road. All torn up, beaten, and a little messy from the ale and flour, Scribbelle slowly tries to get up. Tap! Scribbelle gasped and looked up to see the Pretty Cure warriors stared aggressively, with some of their arms crossed, at Scribbelle. Matt, the fairies, and Boobert came outside of the tavern and looked upon the scene.
The powerful impact and crashing noise have also drawn some of the hiding citizens of the town, peeking out through their slightly opened doors and windows. All the Blot patrollers appeared on the scene and are horrified to see Scribbelle's defeat.
"So Scribbelle," Milky Rose speaks with a firm face, "ready to give up, or you're thirsty for more?"
Scribbelle got on her feet while she wobbles and limps in pain. Still aching from her brutal pain, she kept her angry look as she pants and stares at the Pretty Cures. Every warrior is still giving an aggressive look on their faces.
"Grrr…, Blots! Retreat!" Scribbelle yelled and ordered.
Every Blot replied with a nod slowly. One Blot manages to get up and sluggishly draws and black portal back to the castle. While the injured Blots slowly walked in pain into the portal, the rest of the Blots escorted and help their comrades.
Once every Blot went into the portal, Scribbelle gets near the portal and stands close to it before entering it. She looked back at the Pretty Cure team one last time. In her mind, she felt completely humiliating again to be defeated by legendary warriors twice.
"I swear you frilly brats…," Scribbelle said in great anger, "(Pant)…that King Splat and I will destroy you guys…for good!" And when she looked and pointed at Matt Oda…, "And you young man…," Matt blinked, but he kept his cool with a firm look on his face and a tight fist. "The next time I see you or meet eye-to-eye…, I will slit your head off!" Matt didn't react, and he kept his firm look. "Until next time Pretty Cures…, especially you…
…Oda…"
Finally, Scribbelle exits the scene as she goes through the portal, and it disappears. The Blots are out of Pastel Square for good.
Once the Blots are gone, Matt falls and sits on the road in complete exhaustion and relief. He also exhaled in relief. "Whew…! That really was a close shave for me," Matt said as he feels fatigued. "All that adrenaline rush burned up a lot of my energy."
Then the fairies appeared before the sitting Matt. He noticed their presence.
"Way to go Matthew-desu." Shypre complemented with a smile.
"You showed everyone you are strong and stayed in perfect harmony-nya," Hummy said with glee.
"Indeed, what an extraordinary feat you did-daze," Glassan said happily.
"Kyu-A!" Chiffon screamed in joy.
"Chiffon!" Tarte shouted in great happiness and appeared.
He and Chiffon are thrilled and hugged together in a great reunion. Tarte's eyes were covered with tears to see Chiffon again unharmed.
Tarte turns to Matt as the fairy speaks, "They are right, Matt. You're no ordinary human who can achieve this difficult task. I think all of our homeworlds will respect your heroic deed and actions."
Matt smiled in response to all the fairies. Then Boobert, the ghost mayor, appeared and offered his hand to pick Matt up off the ground. Matt took Boobert's hand as the gentleman got onto his feet.
"I gotta admit kid," Boobert speaks, "You sure have guts and brains to do this noble task. You'll be in Pastel Square and Spectrum Land's history books forever."
"Aw, I'm not that famous or important," Matt said in little shyness.
"Matthew!" The gentleman heard and coming towards Matt with a big hug is Cure Happy. "We knew you can do it! I'm super ultra happy!" Cure Happy cheered.
Then every Pretty Cure warrior came in close to Matt.
"Way to go, Matt Oda-sama!" Cure Marine shouted as she appears and hugs in the back of Matt. The two Cures then stopped hugging Matt.
"Yes, you are brilliant!" Cure Blossom complimented.
"We will forever remember this moment and your name," Cure Aqua stated.
"Indeed," Cure Mint said with a cheerful smile.
"You are more than awesome," Cure Melody said as she winked and gives a fist bump on Matt's shoulder.
"You are a Pretty Cure Hero," Cure Muse followed up as she bows gracefully to Matt.
"Outstanding work Matt, and you did it!" Cure Princess shouted with great joy.
"YEAH! High-Five!" Cure Bloom shouted as she, Princess, and Matt all did high-fives.
Cure Black jumped onto Matt's back as she quickly gives him a scratch on his head using her knuckles. Black then gets off Matt on her feet. "Matt, you little scoundrel!" Black said with a smile. "You're the best!"
"I agree," Luminous said with a smile. "Thank you for everything you've done to all of us." Matt smiles to see Luminous's graceful and happy look.
"Matt…hew…" Cure Berry calls to him in her attractive mood. Matt heard and turns to Berry. Berry gets close to Matt's face and… Smooch! kisses him on the lips. Matt became startled, but everyone else didn't become surprised. They were all awed to see Berry's gratitude to Matt. Berry ends her kiss as she begins to speak, "you truly are a perfect gentleman."
"Whoa, that jolted me a little," Matt said in a little surprise.
"And what's wrong to receive a kiss from a perfect Pretty Cure girl?" Berry winks at Matt. Still a bit startled, but then Matt smiles at Berry.
Cure Moonlight then appeared before Matt Oda. She then hugs Matt all over his upper body. "I'm very proud of you, Matthew Oda-sama," Moonlight gracefully speaks as she makes a lovely smile. She then stares at Matt's face. "Everyone here is very proud of you, Matt. You have proven yourself you are more than an ordinary person who overcomes a difficult task. Us, Pretty Cures, must protect our people and friends we loved from any danger. We are chosen to be legendary warriors, given from a prayer. But you Matt Oda, you chose this path not from a plea, but from your own heart. You have shown us that there are wonderful people who can become amazing people to overcome the impossible. And you're one of them. You have my sincere thanks and honest gratitude."
"Aw shucks Moonlight, you're embarrassing me," Matt said as he blushed.
"Thanks again for saving us," Cure Peace said as she hugged Matt.
"Yeah Matthew, thanks!" Cure Lemonade said as she hugs Matt too.
Everyone smiled around Matt Oda until they all heard soft voices. The team looked around and see people and ghosts of the town slowly popping their heads out from hiding. They all whispered about the Pretty Cure team they witnessed.
"Who are they?" Cure Sword wondered.
Boobert blinked in realization as he floats high and shouts, "Don't afraid, everyone! Those gruesome Blots and that pink menace are gone for good. These are the Pretty Cure warriors that defeated them. You can come out!"
When every citizen heard Boobert, they all came out from hiding and have happy faces. The citizens of Pastel Square got close to the Pretty Cure team. The people of the town are delighted to see the legendary warriors at present.
Matt smiles to see the citizens are safe. Boobert then floats near Matt's side as he speaks close to him. "Matt kid, I owe ya," Boobert said. Matt grinned and winked back at the ghost mayor.
While everyone on the ground is gathered, the same stuffed owl back from the entrance of Purple Bog sits on a rain gutter. It watches the citizens celebrating with the Pretty Cure team. It glowed its eyes in a purplish color as it continues to stare.
In another area and room, the living dolls watch the town and the Pretty Cure team via a portal.
"That young man is incredible," said a living maid doll.
"I know," agreed from a doll in Lolita Gothic clothes, "who would've thought that square guy has great potential."
"Master, you think they're ready for your scary test?" said another maid doll.
The girl in Lolita Gothic clothes sits in her high chair. She watches on the portal as she replies, "I thought at first they aren't worth my time since they were captured by that stupid and arrogant Scribbelle. But without that man, those girls would still be in a fix and wouldn't show their true powers of a Pretty Cure warrior to me." She then makes an evil smirk. "This is going to be fun. Very well, as soon as they arrive at my mansion, we will see how well their Pretty Cure spirit can pass my test."
Author's Notes
I hope you like this long and thrilling chapter.
This chapter also remarks on a lesson for all of you viewers. The lesson is that heroes aren't people who are famous or important, like superheroes, cops, or soldiers. Heroes are people who do the righteous thing for their families, friends, nation, love, and their own hearts. As the Matt Oda character described in this chapter, he proves a square (traditionalist) can overcome the obstacles in his path when he uses his own skills and knowledge wisely. Heed this lesson if you can, and you can do the right and heroic thing to others just by being yourself and who you are.
