32. The Terror Trials in Violet's Mansion

31. The Terror Trials in Violet's Mansion

After Matt's immense success of rescuing the Pretty Cures, and the magical heroines drove and forced the Blots away from Pastel Square, the town became lively again. The streets are filled with people and friendly ghosts as they feel happy to be out on the streets and enjoy their wonderful activities. The Wonder Colors are safely restored and secured back into the Case after The Pretty Cures' heroic battle.

At the Pastel Fountain Corner, the tavern of Pastel Square, the place is a lively full house. While a few repairmen are fixing the damages of the tavern, the citizens of the town still enjoyed all the delicious food and tasty drinks at the bar and at the tables. The Pretty Cure team, including Tint and Tone, are having a blast as they eat their gourmet dishes served on their huge group table.

"Mmm! Thiff is weally goob!" Cure Dream said with her mouth full of food she scarfs.

"Easy there Dream," Cure Rouge warns Dream, "you don't want to choke."

"Mmm! This steak is so juicy and tender." Cure White with glee.

"Yum! Yum! I love this burger!" Cure Marine shouted with joy.

"I really like this healthy Caesar Salad." Cure Beauty said as she took another bite.

Everyone on the team loved the food so much that ate every crumby piece off the plate.

"Hey dere Pretty Cures!" Boobert shouted as he approaches the team. The gang heard and noticed his presence. "How's the food?"

"Excellent, Mayor," Matt replied with a grin, "the spaghetti especially."

"I hope you have enough room for desserts, cuz we have a special treat just for all of you."

"Oh definitely," Cure Beat replies to the ghost mayor, "all that fighting really worked up an appetite."

"Great! Boys!" Boobert claps his hands as he calls a few waiters. The waiters came with trays in their hands. And on the trays are glasses of bright colored parfaits. The waiters gave each Pretty Cure team member, including the fairies, a parfait of their own. "Accept this special dessert as our thanks for saving Pastel Square. This is the town's most delicious dessert you'll find. The Pastel Parfait."

The Pretty Cure team is awestruck as they observe the parfait's appearance. Inside the glass contain layers of bright yellow, blue, purple, and pink yogurt with crushed peanuts and walnuts within the cream. On top and within the rim of the glass are a mixture of small fresh berries, and small pieces of citrus and melon fruit. A dot of sprinkled whip cream with a cherry on top is in the middle of the fruit.

The Pretty Cure team is amazed by the parfaits' appearance that they feel regretful to eat it.

"Oh man, it looks so good." Cure Black said as she makes a little drool from her mouth.

"I feel so bad to eat it." Luminous said with regret.

"Nah, don't be kids," Boobert said with a cheeky grin, "This parfait is meant for eating with delight, not to show its looks."

"You're too kind Boobert." Cure Rosetta complemented the ghost mayor.

"Well then, thanks for the food." Cure Bloom happily said as she takes the first bite of her parfait.

Everyone else followed up next as they all took a bite of their own parfait. After taking a bite, the team widens their eyes in great surprise.

"Whoa! This is so sweet!" Cure Ace said with delight.

"Mmm! So good and rich." Cure Pine said in awe.

"This is the best dessert I've ever tasted." Tarte said joyfully as feels like he's in heaven.

"Yum! Yum! So sweet-kuru!" Candy happily shouted.

"I'm glad all of you kids are enjoying it." Boobert said with a smile on his face. "It also happens to be Spectrum Land's number one dessert in the world."

"Really?" Cure Honey asked.

"Of course, why even Queen Chroma loved it too."

"No kidding!?" Cure Lemonade said in surprise.

"Nope, she was also the one who spread the word and gave a great review on the Pastel Parfait."

"It is a great review I believe, because I'll never forget this delicious taste forever-coco." Coco said with a big smile.

"Me too-natsu." Natts agreed with Coco.

"I can't thank enough of you Pretty Cures, including you Matt Oda, for saving our beloved Pastel Square." Boobert said with a big grin, "Is there anything else I can do for you kids?"

"There is." Matt replied as he wipes his mouth with a napkin, "I remember you owe me a favor."

"Ah yes, of course, kid. What would you like?"

"It's nothing much, but maybe you can help us. Another reason why we're all here is that we're looking for a specific object that we need to save Spectrum Land. It's important to the Pretty Cures, and all of our worlds in the galaxy."

"And what is that object you're looking for, kid?"

"Do you know where we can find Pastel Square's Wonder Color?"

But Boobert gasped in fright. And not just him, everyone in the tavern, the customers, the waiters, the bartenders, every single person in the building all gasped and stared at the Pretty Cure team. The team became a little wary after hearing everyone's devasting shock. Even Tone became wary.

"Did I say something wrong?" Matt said in little fright.

"Why is everybody afraid of us?" Cure Diamond said in concern.

"Oh, we're not afraid of you kids," Boobert corrected the team, "it's just that, do you really want to get the Wonder Color so badly?"

"We have to mayor Boobert," Cure Mint replies calmly, "it's our mission to save Spectrum Land and our home world."

"Judging by your reaction, I'd say you know where the Wonder Color is." Cure Beauty stated.

Boobert takes his top hat off and continues to speak, "Oh, we all know where it is kids since I told everybody in this town, but I'm afraid you do not want to go there."

"Why not?" Cure Rhythm wonders.

"Well, Purple Bog is home to the magical Wonder Color Purple. It contains great mystical powers from what I heard. But the Wonder Color Purple is kept in the place where no one would ever dare enter that darn place again."

"Wh-Why? What is that place?" Cure Passion asked.

Boobert first looked at everyone in the tavern who are all still horrified. He took a deep breath and exhales, then he gets close to the Pretty Cure team. "Well…, the Wonder Color Purple is being held secured in…the mansion." The citizens in the tavern all took a deep breath.

"A mansion?" Cure Melody speaks, "Sounds like someone is living the luxurious life."

"Ah, that's not what we meant Miss Pinky. When we say and think about the mansion, we mean that place is…haunted."

The Pretty Cure team blinked in surprise to hear the fact from Boobert. The Cures who are afraid of ghosts and monsters shivered in fright.

"H-H-Ha-Ha-Hau-Haun…Haunted?" Cure Rouge said in great fear.

"Did you say…ha-ha-haunted…?" Cure March said as her body shook in a quaking matter.

"Yeah kids," Boobert replied with a concerned look on his face, "That mansion is a terrifying haunted mansion. And worst of all, there's also a girl who lives in that mansion."

"A girl?" Cure Aqua questioned.

"Yeah, but not just any girl. That girl is actually… a witch. A witch with incredible and scary dark magic powers. And she controls the whole mansion in that scary place. And that witch's name is…" Boobert took a big pause before he answers. He then speaks softly,

"…Violet…"

The citizens in the tavern made a loud gulped.

The Pretty Cure team saw everyone in the tavern terrified just by hearing that name. Judging by the citizen's reaction, the team knows that everybody wasn't lying.

"Is it really…that scary-lulu?" Lulun said in concern.

"Are you kidding little one." said a man in the tavern, "She's the scariest girl I've ever seen in my entire life."

"Yeah," said another man with a deep voice, "she looks so dark, spooky, and hideous like she came out from a horror movie."

"Rumor has it that creepy witch has dolls that can move and have a mind of their own." A woman at the far end of the table stated.

Hearing all those comments from Pastel Square's civilians made the Pretty Cure team cautious. "Are you guys serious…?" Cure Beat said in fear.

"Do we look like that we want to give you a horror story?" Boobert speaks, "I remember two guys entered the mansion, but only one came out alive with bruises, cuts, and scars on him. The other guy never came out again."

"And we're not lying young ones," said the bartender as he cleans a beer glass, "she came into the town a few times, and when we all saw her for the first time, she looked like she's about to cast a spell on us."

"No doubt," said a chunky-size construction worker who is fixing the windows, "that eerie dress of hers with those skulls and bat accessories around her, it was our first instinct to stay away from her."

"I remember how she did weird stuff when she came into our town." said an elderly lady with square glasses, "I've seen her pick algae off the murky river, collecting insects in dark alleys, and plucking reptile skins from nearby swamps."

"It's almost like she some kind of evil enchantress." said a teen girl in her panicking state, "In fact, there's a song about it."

"Oh no, not again." the bartender said in irritation as the girl begins to sing and dance in a crazy state.

"She's an evil enchantress, she does evil dances.

And if you look deep in her eyes, she'll put you in trances.

Then what will she do? She'll mix up an evil brew.

And she'll gobble you up in a big tasty stew.

So, WATCH OUT!"

The teen pants heavily after her song and dance, while everyone, including the Pretty Cure team, was stunned by her wild action.

"Okay…, that's an earworm…" Matt said in an awkward mood.

"Did you make that song up?" Cure Sword asked in little shock.

"Nah, I got it that from a T.V. show about ponies." the teen girl replied.

"And you've been singing that annoying song at least fifty times." the bartender said in great annoyance, "Do you mind not singing that again in this peaceful tavern."

"Uh, sorry…"

The Pretty Cure team looked at each other with confused looks on their faces. They even shrugged.

"But anyways kids," said Boobert as he continues to speak, "all we're trying to say is that Violet girl is a dangerous person that you do not want to meet her."

Every Pretty Cure warrior and the fairies became very scared after hearing the citizens' comments. But Matt makes a concerned thought thinking different about Violet. "Wait, how bad can that girl be?" Matt asked, "I mean, how do you know she's really spooky and cruel?"

"Well kid, I know this because I've seen her do it. One year ago, me and the citizens saw her out on a big street when she encountered a stray cat face-to-face. That fluffy orange cat was so adorable to us civilians until that Violet used her dolls, and they pulverized that cat. That fluffy creature was dead as a doorknob, and we were horrified by her action. And a month ago, when me and one of my citizens were making a deal of a businessman to open a store, she appeared again right behind the biz guy. And to make matters worse, she used her dark magic powers and sucked up the man's life. His skin was dried as a bone. We don't know why she did those horrific things, but she showed all of us that she is a true-blue scary witch."

"It's all true." said the bartender of the tavern, "We've seen it, and we stayed away from her for our own safety." Every citizen nodded in complete agreement. Matt looks away from everyone and thinks in concern.

"So, Pretty Cures," Boobert speaks in concern, "are you still going to her mansion, and meet that scary Violet?"

There is no response from the Pretty Cure since they are a little worried now that heard everyone's point of view about Violet. But the silence broke when…, "Yes! We have to." Cure Lovely speaks up. The team heard and looked at her. "I am a little scared when you told us about Violet and the mansion. But if we let fear stop us, then we can't move forward. And if we can't move forward, we won't be able to achieve anything and save Spectrum Land. I know it's not a good feeling to be scared and run away, but running away won't solve anything. Fear, of course, is a feeling that convinces us that we shouldn't risk our lives for something dangerous or scary, but we must face our fears. In fact, sometimes fear is what makes us stronger. We are scared of something terrifying, but if it is someone's life on the line, then that fear becomes courage. What I'm trying to say is, you may have told us about the daunting things about Violet and her mansion, but saving Spectrum Land, the galaxy, and all our family and friends we love is more important. And losing those people we cherish and care is that fear that turns and builds our bravery. And that feeling is what a true Pretty Cure warrior would understand and do."

The Pretty Cure team understood and stared at Cure Lovely, but all the civilians in the tavern were awe-struck and a little stunned by Lovely's speech. The ghost mayor too was surprised. He took a big sigh and speaks.

"Well…, I guess we can't stop ya." Mayor Boobert said in concern. But Mayor Boobert smiles at the Pretty Cure team. "Okay kids, I'll take ya to the mansion."

"You mean it!?" Cure Rhythm said with a grin, "Thanks Mayor Boobert."

"Ah! But first!" Boobert's shout caused the team to jolt. The mayor then rubs his index and middle fingers with his thumb back and forth. "Pay up guys." The team became quizzical from Boobert. "This food is not for free, ya know."

"Eeeeehhh!?" the Pretty Cure team shouted in shock.

"B-B-B-B-B-But I thought this food is free." Cure Happy said in horror.

"And we don't have the money." Cure Peace said in a panic.

"No money, then you kids have to do the dishes." Mayor Boobert gave the team an angry stare to the Pretty Cure team. The team became a little frightened by Boobert's mad look. The ghost mayor kept staring at the team madly… "Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Boobert laughed happily as the team became quizzical again. "Oh boy, I'm just teasing kids. It's on the house."

The team makes a sweat-drop on their heads. "Uuuhhh…ghosts…" Matt said in exasperation.

---

After eating their meal from the tavern, the Pretty Cure team left the place and followed Mayor Boobert as they all walked down the streets of Pastel Square. After a few minutes of walking, they all arrived a gray brick wall where there are two iron gates. There were heavy chains and barbwires wrapped around the gates as if it's being locked for restriction.

"Welp, here we are kids." Mayor Boobert stated.

"Woah, look at those chains and wires." Cure Pine said in little surprise.

"It's like this gate is not passable to anyone at all." Cure Sword commented.

"You bet kid." Boobert agrees to Sword, "but actually, the reason we wrapped the gate liked this is so that Violet girl won't get inside into our town. Just through these gates is a path that leads to her mansion. But we always keep these gates locked up not to for that Violet girl to come in, but to prevent anybody going to her. But no matter how hard we locked it tight, that Violet girl uses her dark magic and unwraps the chains and wires, and she unlocks the gate."

"Wow, she's that powerful?" Cure Diamond said in concern.

"Did she destroy the chains and wires every time she enters the town?" Cure Sunny pondered.

"Nah she didn't," Boobert replied, "in fact, and odd as I say, whenever she heads back to her mansion, she locks the gate, and wraps it with the same chains and wires again."

"Huh, I wonder why she locked the gate back after she visited Pastel Square?" Cure Aqua questioned.

"Ah, who knows." Mayor Boobert replied and shrugged. Matt then makes a curious thought after what Boobert said.

The ghost mayor then floats near the gate and stands in front of a large padlock. He took his top hat off his head as he searches for something inside of it. A few seconds later, Boobert pulled out a rusty key from his hat. He put his hat back on his head, and then he uses the key to unlock the padlock. Click! The lock opened, and the ghost mayor unwraps the chains and wires from the gates. Once the chains and the wires are completely off, he opens the gates and shows the Pretty Cure team the way.

"Well, this is all I can to do for you kids." Mayor Boobert speaks, "The rest is up to you."

"Thanks Boobert," Cure Fortune said, "and no matter what, we're going to save Spectrum Land and get that Wonder Color."

"Oooohhh…Do we have to?" Cure Beat said scarcely.

"Jeez, quit being baby." Cure Muse said in annoyance. Beat makes a mean look to Muse.

Without any minute to waste, the Pretty Cure team passed through the gate and walked down the dirt path.

"Good luck kids!" Boobert cheered with little concern, "And be careful."

Tone looks at the team, especially Tint, as he shouts, "We'll be waiting for your return. And remember: you have nothing to fear but fear itself."

With those last words of courage, the Pretty Cure team continued forward leaving Pastel Square and heading towards Violet's mansion.

After a few minutes of leaving lively town, the Pretty Cure team entered a dark forest as they continued down the dirt path. With only the light of the full moon as their source of guiding light, and the trees, bushes, and sky looking dark, the scenery looked horror as the team became a little frightened.

"Now I'm terrified." Cure March said in a big fright.

"Me too." Cure Beat said and agreed as she shivered her whole body.

"Don't worry girls," Cure Honey speaks trying to calm the frightened girls, "We're all in this together now. If anything happens, we all got our backs."

"Yep," Cure Rhythm agrees, "and if wasn't Matt's heroic and courageous deed, we would not be here in this forest and be together as a team. Right, Matt?" Rhythm winks at Matt.

Matt makes a little blush on his face. "Okay girls, okay…" said Matt trying to overcome his shyness, "I appreciate your honest praising towards me, but I think I had enough. Let's all focus the task at hand, and find that—" Rustle!

Suddenly, Matt and the Pretty Cure team flinched and blinked when they heard a loud noise coming from a nearby bush. Everyone became wary and raised their defenses.

"What was that?" Cure Sword wondered in little fright.

Everyone looked around to see what caused the noise. Even though with the moon's light shining in the dark sky, it is still too hard to see anything.

Rustle!

"There it is again." Cure Muse noted.

"But where is it coming from?" Cure Fortune wondered as she shifts her eyes side-to-side.

"Hang on, I have a flashlight." Matt said to the Pretty Cure team. He searches into his bag and then pulls out a hand-size LED flashlight. He turns it on and shines around the area of what's making the bush bustling.

Seconds passed the time, and so far no sound. Everything became quiet except the howling night wind.

"Well, whatever is making that noise, it's gone now." Cure Rosetta commented.

All the Pretty Cure warriors dropped their guard and calmed themselves.

Matt scratches his head in concern and then turns around to the team shining his flashlight toward the warriors' feat. "Well, let's get going girls." Matt said to the gang, "We won't get to the mansion if just stand and here and…" Suddenly, Matt blinked and spotted something in a bush just behind every Pretty Cure warrior. Matt squinted his eyes for a better view. Matt sees in the bush are two small glowing red lights. Matt widens his eyes quickly, and he then shines his flashlight to the bush. With a better view from the light, Matt sees two eyes scrunched aggressively. Matt jolted. "Girls! Behind you!" The girls quickly turned around by Matt's shout and looked. Something popped out of the bush and leaped onto the team. The girls dodged the attack. Matt shined at the creature, and the light showed a ferocious wolf. "A wolf!" Matt shouted. The wolf growled at the team as it is ready to attack again.

"Eek! Where that wolf come from?" Cure Peace panicked in fright.

"Uh-oh! Look!" Cure Pine called and warned everyone.

Suddenly, a few more wolves appeared along with the first wolf. All of them are growling ready to leap at the Pretty Cure team. The heroines, Matt, and the fairies brace themselves for the anticipation.

"Groowwll!" A wolf howled and jumped toward the team.

A wolf is about to pounce on one of the Cures, but Cure Passion uses a round kick and knocks the wolf back.

"I don't know if they're hungry or mad, but we got to fight to keep ourselves alive!" Cure Passion informed the team.

It was then all the wolves jumped and started to attack the Pretty Cure team. "Here they come!" Matt shouted and alerted. Every warrior began to fight back.

It wasn't long until the wolves were no match for the magical girls as the furry predators were beaten up by to the bone. The wolves whimpered and forced to run away. They disappeared into the woods never to come back again. With the wolves gone, the Pretty Cure team exhaled in relief.

"Wow, that was scary." Cure Diamond said with her heart beating a little fast.

"I hope we don't see those carnivores again." Cure March said in little concern.

"Well, now that's settled, let's continue to the mansion." Tint stated to the team.

"I was a little afraid you'd say that." Cure Rouge said with little fright.

The team then continued down the road and headed to Violet's mansion.

---

A half hour passed and soon the Pretty Cure team entered deep within the dark woods. With Matt's flashlight, he is in front of the team and led the way. As everyone kept walking down the path, the group became warier as they observe the surroundings of the forest. The trees are dead and have no leaves on them, but they have scary faces on them due to the rotten and decaying bark. Crows are also perching on top of the trees as their beady eyes stare at the team. The area became so scary that everyone in the Pretty Cure team is shivering a bit in fright. Just then…, KRR-BOOM! Thunder roared, and lightning flashed in the dark night sky. Everyone, even the fairies, jolted and jumped in a big fright.

"EEK! I'm scared!" Cure Blossom cried in fear.

"It's alright, I've got ya." Cure Sunshine said as she hugs Blossom in comfort.

"Now I feel like I'm really in a horror movie." Cure Beat said while being scared.

"It's going to be alright," Cure Rhythm said trying to cheer Beat up.

"I know that everyone's scared right now," Tint speaks up as she is a bit frightened, "but we got to keep moving and get that Wonder Color. Let's go."

Every Pretty Cure warrior, the fairies, and Matt are still scared, but they all nodded and kept pressing forward down the road.

It didn't take long until after a few more minutes the team encountered and stopped in front of a tall iron fence with gate doors. A few members of the team gulped in fright, but they need to press onwards. Matt and Cure Mint volunteered to open the gates since they're not afraid. Once they fully opened the gates, the team stepped through and got a glimpse of something horrified shivering everyone's body.

In their view is none other than the enormous dark mansion Mayor Boobert warned. The mansion is sitting on a hill with a long trail of steps leading to the estate. The mansion is three stories tall, and it is significant to cover at least one or two acres. There are a plethora of windows on the sides of the mansion, but only two windows, on the top level, lit up from the inside and glowed in a dank purple color. There is even a massive garden on the right side of the mansion in everyone's view. Once the Pretty Cure team got a full scan of the creepy mansion, lightning struck and flashed two to four times around the mansion. The lightning scared everyone.

"So…, that's Violet's mansion." Cure Beauty said in little concern.

"Wow, now I'm really really really scared." Cure Rouge said in great fear.

"Now I feel like I'm those horror movies." Cure Sunshine said in concern.

"Well, to me, I feel like I'm in that video game now." Matt said to the girls.

"Let me guess, that same Italian guy you've mentioned." Cure Muse said cheekily.

"Yeah, but it was a different Italian guy, and he had vacuum on him."

Muse kept staring Matt as she feels awkward from him.

"Well team," Cure Moonlight speaks up, "it's now or never. So, let's move."

Everyone else, including the fairies, agreed with Moonlight even though they all feel a bit terrified.

The team then walked up the flight of steps as they approach the mansion's two big front doors. Matt, being in front of the team and near the doors, volunteered to knock on the door a few times. There is no response for a few seconds, until…

"Come in…"

The voice of a little girl is called out from the other side of the doors. The team heard and became a little startled. Matt, still being brave and doing a gentleman's job, he decides to turn the knob and pulls open one of the front doors. Matt left an opening crack after he opens the door. Matt peeks inside and shines his flashlight inside the room. A few girls also peeked inside with their frightening looks on their faces. "Hello…?" Matt asked. Matt uses his flashlight to search the dark room to see if any threats are waiting for him and the team. He discovers that there are no threats and tells the Pretty Cure team everything's okay to go inside. Matt opened both doors letting him and every Pretty Cure warrior and the fairies inside the mansion. Once everyone stepped inside… SLAM! The doors suddenly closed behind them and jolted the team. Everything went pitch black except for Matt's flashlight still shining.

"Ah! It's dark in here!" Cure Sword said in fear.

"I'm scared! I'm scared!" Cure Happy panicked.

"Relax girls, we're right here." Cure Rosetta said and cheers them up.

"Welcome Pretty Cures." the same little girl's voice speaks, "Heroes of Spectrum Land, you've entered the most exciting yet scariest places of your lives." Suddenly, all the lights in the room lit up in a flash. The team discovers they are in the foyer of the mansion. "You are now in Violet's Mansion."

Everyone got a good view of the foyer as everything looked dark and spooky. There are two levels of the room with two big staircases, one on each end, leading up to the next level. There is a huge crystal chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. There are also a few portraits of dark plants and people hanging on the walls.

As everyone kept observing the whole room…, "I see you've all made it here… in one piece that is." The same little girl's voice speaks again.

"Huh? Who said that-desu wa?" Ribbon pondered in little fright.

The team tries to find the source of the voice.

"Hey look." Cure Peach said and points.

Everyone looked where Peach directed and spotted a puppet doll dressed in ragged clothes sitting on the floor and in front of everyone.

"It's just a ragged old doll." Tarte explained to the team.

"Ah, I think it looks cute though." Cure Peace said with a grin.

"Heh, heh, heh, heh…, heh… Is that so?" But the team suddenly blinked when they heard the voice again, and it came from the unmovable doll. "How kind of you Blonde to call me cute. But you furry rat, calling me ragged and old…" The Pretty Cure team became warier when doll then started to move a little. And in that moment…, "that's not very nice!" The doll lifts her head up and makes an evil grin.

The team jumped in shock to find out that the doll is alive. But the group became even more shocked when suddenly more dolls appeared, dressed in ragged clothes and maid outfits, as they all made an evil smirk onto the team.

"Whoa, look at all those dolls." Cure Marine said in little fright.

"They don't look friendly to me." Cure Diamond warned the team.

"Are you Violet by any chance?" Cure Beauty asked the doll.

"Me? Nah, you're talking to the wrong one." the doll replied with a cheeky and evil grin. "I'm one of the three's Mistress's loyal servants at your service."

"One of you three-kuru?" Candy questioned.

In a snap, two more maid dolls appeared one each next to the first doll. The team is still wary of the dolls.

"Please to meet you…, mortals. I'm Iris." The doll said as she is dress in a royal light purple gown. She has long eyelashes and has purple lips, but she makes an evil look.

"Do…stay…with us. I'm Periwinkle." The second doll said as she is dress in dark purple, ragged and dirty clothes and has long black hair covering her face with openings of her hair revealing her eyes. She looked like the folklore Yurei.

"And I'm Lilac, Violet's main servant and right-hand doll." The main doll bowed at the Pretty Cure team. The team bowed in response, but they are still scared. "And once again, welcome to Violet's mansion."

"Uh…, thanks for letting us in?" Cure Melody said in concern.

"Well, the reason we came here is that we're looking for something important for our mission." Cure Passion stated.

"I'm assuming you're here for the Wonder Color Purple, Cure Passion. Or Setsuna I assume?" Iris said with a cheeky and evil tone. The team blinked when Iris knows Passion's real name.

"Wait, how do you know her real name?" Tarte pondered in a little surprise.

"Violet and all of us dolls know everything…, Tarte." Periwinkle said as she stares with a terrifying look.

The fairy of the Sweet Kingdom flinched. "Hey! You know my name."

Lilac noticed Matt's presence, and she grins with an evil look at him. "Ah, you must be Matt Oda, the young gentleman that saved the Pretty Cures."

Matt blinked. "Yeah, that's right." he said with little shock, "How do you know that? I didn't even see or meet any of you dolls back in Pastel Square."

"So you know all of us?" Cure Lemonade asked.

"Yes, indeed…, Cure Lemonade…, or…Urara…" Periwinkle shyly but evilly said and grins. Lemonade gasped a little that the Yurei doll knows the warrior's name.

"But anyways…," Lilac spoke up and got the team's attention. "You Pretty Cures want the Wonder Color Purple so you can save Spectrum Land, right?" The team nodded and said "Un" in response. "I knew it. We are glad to take to the Wonder Color and the protector of the color." The team thought it's a piece of cake, but Lilac interrupts their moment "But first, you must pass a certain test created by Violet."

"A test?" Cure Sword said quizzically, "What test?"

"We'll show you what we mean…" Periwinkle said with a creepy grin, "but first…"

"Have a whiff of this gorgeous flower." Iris said she and all the other dolls pulled out a specific flower.

And the flower all the dolls brought out is a white flower that has round petals with a point end tip. There is also a yellow stigma in the center of the flower. Every doll that has a flower stretched out their arms to let the Pretty Cure team sniff the flowers.

"Here, smell it with your heart's desire." Lilac said calmly.

"Oh wow, how nice of you." Cure Happy said with glee. Happy then takes a good whiff of the flower. After she smelled the flower, she makes a calm grin. "Ah, what a beautiful fragrant." She is in a daydreaming moment due to the flower's fragrant.

But Happy gasped. The other team members flinched of Happy's reaction. "Happy! What's wrong?" Cure Sunny asked and panicked.

All of a sudden, Cure Happy started to feel dizzy, and her body moves wobblily. "Wow…, that smells really nice…" Happy said as feels hazy. "I feel like… I'm gonna… take a nice rest…" Then Happy collapsed to the floor.

"Happy!" Cure Peace screamed.

"What did you do to her!?" Cure March said anger.

"Woo…" Just then, the team heard Cure Peace groaning. "Why do I feel… (Yawn)… so tired…?" Peace said as she is feeling drowsy. Then she slowly and gently lays her body on the floor.

"Peace! What happened!?" Cure Berry shouted in concern.

"Uuuhhh…," Cures Berry, Peach, and Passion hears Cure Pine who's now feeling woozy. "I feel so… so… lightheaded…" Then Cure Pine fell her body to the floor.

"Why…" Then the team heard Shiny Luminous who's feeling dizzy. "Why do I feel… sleepy…?" Then she became unconscious.

"Luminous!" Cure Black shouted in panic.

"What's wrong!?" Cure White asked in fear.

Just then, more warriors on the team started to feel dizzy and unsteady, including the fairies.

"What's going on?" Syrup asked in fear, "Why is everyone feeling weird-ropu?"

Then Matt blinked and realized something. "Wait a minute…" he speaks. He looks at all the flowers the dolls brought out. After staring at the plant, he says, "What are these flowers?"

"Flowers?" Cure Blossom pondered. She then starts to analyze the flowers too. She got a good look at the flowers, but she gasped as she got some of the other members' attention, who are not sleepy, including Matt and Tint. Dreaming and gaining knowledge to be a dream botanist, Blossom states the fact of the flowers to the whole team. "Oh no! They're gardenias!"

"Gardenias?" Cure Marine questioned.

"These kinds of flowers contain and spread a chemical aroma that causes people and creatures to fall asleep. And since these dolls brought out so many of them, the chemical aroma is increasing it's strength and smell around us."

"Oh no. Not good." Cure Sunshine said in little fear. But then she starts to feel sleepy. "I'm about to… to…" Then she fell to the floor asleep.

Soon every Pretty Cure warrior, including Matt, the rest of the fairies, and Tint, started to kneel to the floor and feel very sleepy.

"Stay awake Matt." he said to himself. "Stay awake. Staaay…Awaa…" He then fell fast asleep as he falls to the floor and drops his flashlight.

"(Yawn)… Good night, everyone." Cure Rosetta said as she falls asleep.

Everyone fell fast asleep except Cure Lovely who is barely awake. She tries to fight the gardenia's sleepy aroma with all her might. "I can't give up…" Lovely said weakly, "I mustn't. I… I… I…" Then Lovely falls to the floor only with her eyes barely opened to see.

Once every one of the Pretty Cure team is on the floor sleeping, the dolls all put the gardenias away. They all stared at the unconscious Pretty Cure team. Step. Step. Step. Then someone else appears and walks up to the sleeping Pretty Cure team. With only Lovely hardly awake, she got a glimpse of the person looking before the sleeping team.

It is a young preteen girl with pale skin that has dark purple eyes, magenta eye shadows, and long purple hair. She wears a Hugme Lolita Gothic dress that has crisscross straps and bows in the front, high-heel dark boots, a bat-like headband, and skull earrings. She stares coldly at the sleeping team. Lovely couldn't move due to her sleepiness, but she feels surprised.

"Well done, everyone." The young girl said in a cold tone and Britain accent.

"Thanks." Lilac replied. "Shall we move on and test their skills?"

The girl in Lolita Gothic clothes didn't respond quickly, but she makes a cold and evil grin. "Yes…" she evilly replies. "We'll give these certain Pretty Cures, including the gentleman and fairies, placed in specific challenged rooms in my mansion. Will see if they can overcome fear without a full team." She then places her left hand on her hip. "Make sure you all given them a good fright."

"Certainly," Lilac replied, "we'll make sure if they are the true heroes or just a bunch of scaredy cats." Lovely is about to fall asleep, and at that moment, she heard from Lilac, "Your wish is our command, Mistress Violet."

When Lovely heard that name, she feels shocked, until the gardenia's aroma chemical finally conked her out. "Violet…" Lovely said before she falls asleep.

Everything went black for the Pretty Cure team.

Time passed as Cure Lovely is still asleep. But then she regains her conscious and slowly awakes. When she is wide awake, she looked around the vicinity.

In Lovely's view, she is in a large room full of portraits. Many portraits are hanging on the walls, and each picture depicted a different person from little boys to elderly women. Every portraits' face had a concern or serious look on their faces.

"Where am I?" Lovely wondered as she kept looking around. Just then, she heard someone moaning. Lovely looked and saw who it was.

"Wow, I was out like a light." Cure Princess said while waking up.

"Princess!" Lovely said in shock. Princess heard and sees Lovely.

"Uh, Lovely. I'm glad to see that you're okay."

"Me too."

"Hey, what happened?" Then Lovely and Princess heard another voice. They looked, and it is Cure Honey rubbing her head.

But it wasn't just Honey waking up, Lovely and Princess see Cure Fortune, along with the Max Heart trio, the Suite Pretty Cure team, and Tint. There is also the fairies from each respective team are waking up from the sleepy chemical.

"Wow, was I really conked out." Cure Rhythm said as she is waking up.

"You can say that again." Cure Black agreed.

As soon as everyone recovers from their deep sleep, the team got a thorough glimpse of the whole room. The team sees the portraits hanging on the walls, yet there is a door to enter and exit the room.

"Look at all these portraits-popo." Porun noted.

"So many of them-daze." Glassan said.

"Why in the world does room contains a lot of portrait paintings?" Cure White wonders.

Cure Muse gets a closer look at a portrait. "I don't know, but these pictures make me feel a bit scared."

"More importantly, where is everybody else?" Shiny Luminous wondered.

"We must've got separated after we fell asleep from those gardenias those dolls given us." Tint stated.

Cure Fortune looks around the room and spots a door. "Hey, there's a door over there." Fortune stated. "Let's get a move on everyone." The team agrees with Fortune…

"YoU'Re NoT GoINg anYwhEre!"

Suddenly, a creepy voice spoke as it spooks the girls and fairies. The heroines and the fairies looked high and low in finding out who or what made that horrible voice.

"Who's there?" Cure Melody shouted in fright.

There was no response at the moment, until… Rattle! Rattle! Rattle! The girls and fairies suddenly noticed that all the portraits in the room started to shake, and then give off a ghostly aura. "The paintings… are… moving…" Cure Princess said scarily. Every Pretty Cure girl and fairy became very wary and frightened.

"YoU mOrtals bEttEr SuRVivE fOR YoUr LIveS BefORe iT'S tOo LAte. BECaUse IF YOu dON't… wE wiLL…"

Just then, the portraits started to shake more and give more ghostly aura. It was then in the next second…

"HAUNT YOU!"

The ghosts in the paintings popped out of there portraits and scared the team.

"GHOOOOOOOSTSSSSS!" Cure Beat screamed. The Pretty Cure group shouted in tremendous fear.

"Let's get out of here!" Cure Honey commanded.

The Pretty Cure group dashed to the door and try to open it. But to their horrid dismay, the doors to the room are locked. "I can't open them!" Cure Melody shouted in fright. Melody kept trying to open the doors, but no dice.

But while in deperation of escaping, Beat felt something tapping on her shoulder. She looked…

"Peek-A-BOO!" a ghost woman said.

Beat screeched again grabbing the other teammates' attention. The Pretty Cures and the fairies all turned white as more ghosts appeared in front of the team. The Pretty Cure group screamed again.

Everything's quiet until Cure Blossom wakes up. When she's fully awake, she looks around. In her view, she is in a large room that contains nothing but mirrors. Every mirror looks different, and none of them have two that are identical. Some mirrors are big and small, some have a fancy frame, and others have ordinary frames, and some are circular and rectangular. A lot of mirrors are hanging on the walls while a few are leaning the on walls and sitting on the floor. Cure Blossom kept looking and sees the mirrors.

"Where am I?" Blossom ponders, "And what's with all these mirrors?"

Just then, Blossom heard someone moaning. She turned and looked, and she sees Cure Marine waking up from her deep sleep. "Oy, what happened?" Marine said while rubbing her eyes.

"Marine! Are you okay?"

Marine heard and sees Blossom. "Blossom! I'm glad to see you."

Then Blossom and Marine heard more moaning. The two looked, and they both see Cure Sunshine and Cure Moonlight waking up along with the Pretty Cure 5 and the Smile Pretty Cure teams. Their fairies, from each respective team, are also waking up from the gardenia's sleepy chemical.

"Oh man," Cure Sunshine said while feeling a bit drowsy, "was I knocked out."

"Is everyone alright?" Cure Moonlight asks.

"I think so." Cure Aqua replies, "But where are we?"

"I guess we're in a room full of mirrors." Cure Mint answers as she looks around the room.

After the girls and fairies are fully awake, the gang looked around the whole area. There are so many mirrors like Mint stated, but what got them concern is… "Does anybody know where the door to this room is?" Cure Sunny questions. Sunny's question got the gang in alarm as they realize there is no door to the mirror room.

"This isn't good." Cure Rouge said in concern, "How can there be no door to this large mirror room?"

Cures Happy, Blossom, and Milky Rose walk up to a mirror, each of their own, and stare at their reflection. They are feeling worried about not exiting the room. "We need to get out of here." Milky Rose demanded.

"You're right." Cure Happy agrees, "But, how do we get out of here if there's no way out?"

"I'm afraid I can't let you girls and fairies out." Cure Happy's reflection… speaks…?

But Happy flinched in surprise when she witnessed her reflection talked right back at her. Then Happy's mirror image makes an evil look on her face, and its hand popped out of the mirror and grabbed onto Happy's hand. Happy screamed in fright. Her screamed alerted the other Pretty Cures and the fairies' attention. They all witnessed that Cure Happy's reflection is grabbing onto Happy's hand.

Happy tries to break free from her reflection by pulling away from her. But instead, she pulled her own reflection out of the mirror. Cure Happy fell to the floor, but her hand is free. When Happy looked up, she gasped in total shock. The rest of the Smile Pretty Cure gasped in fright.

Stood in front of Cure Happy is her double self only she's all dress in black and has a dark pink diamond on her head with bat wings on it. "Hi there Happy." The doppelganger says, "Remember me?"

"It…It…It can't be…" Cure Happy said in great fright.

"That's… That's… That's Happy's copy and dark form!" Cure Peace shouted in shock.

"Bad End Happy!?" Cure March said in terror.

"But how?" Cure Beauty said in concern.

"Bad End Happy?" Cure Blossom wondered. But she jolts when something grabbed Blossom's hand. She looked and sees her reflection in the mirror staring evilly at Blossom. "What the…?"

Then Blossom's reflection comes out of the mirror as her double appears to wear a black dress with a large white coat on her. "Long time no see, myself." The replicant said.

"Blossom Mirage!?" Blossom screamed, "No way!"

The other Cures became wary of what is happening. Cure Dream becomes scared, but then she shivers when something grabbed her shoulders. She looked and sees…

"I missed you Dream." Her reflection said. Her copy image is half-way out of the mirror, and she appears with a similar dress as Cure Dream only the dark doppelganger is all dark and black.

"No! Dark Dream!?" Dream said in shock.

But then suddenly, each mirror brought out a dark copying reflection to each respective Pretty Cure. All the evil and copying shadows stare evilly at the Pretty Cures.

"Dark Aqua!" Aqua screamed.

"Bad End March!?" March said in shock.

"Sunshine Mirage!?" Sunshine gasped.

Every Pretty Cure warrior is terrified to see their old and dark selves again.

"The evil sides of the Pretty Cures-desu!?" Shypre panicked.

"But, how can this be-coco!?" Coco wondered in shock.

"Yeah, they all defeated them-kuru!" Candy stated in fear.

"Heh, heh, heh, heh…," Bad End Peace giggled, "You don't get it?"

"As long you all have a dark side in your hearts…" Dark Rouge speaks.

"…We will continue to exist." Marine Mirage finishes.

"This can't be happening…" Milky Rose said in great distress.

"But it can…" Milky Rose jolted when she hears a similar voice like her. She turned around, and Milky Rose became shocking scared when she sees her doppelganger self only she's in dark clothes and thorny roses on her hair.

"Are…you…?" Milky Rose said in great fear.

"Yes…," her dark double replied, "I'm Dark Milky Rose. I'm you, but your dark self." Then she and the rest of the dark clones got into their fighting stances. "Prepare to battle!"

The Pretty Cure and fairies became frightened and worried, and a battle broke out.

Cure Heart remained quiet and kept on sleeping, until…

"Heart! Heart! Heart wake up!" Cure Diamond shouts and tries to wake Heart.

Heart hears her comrade, and Heart wakes up and regains her conscious. Once she is fully awake, Heart sees not only her DokiDoki Pretty Cure comrades, but the Pretty Cure Splash Star duo, Fresh Pretty Cure, their respective fairies, and Matt Oda who are awake and looking at Cure Heart.

"Whew… Glad you're awake." Cure Sword said in relief.

"What happened?" Cure Heart asks, "And where are we?"

After Heart's question, she and the team looked around the area. The gang analyzes that they are in a large study room. There are a few bookshelves that are full of textbooks and encyclopedias. A round wooden table with a typewriter on it. A few paintings hanging around in the room. A fireplace and a clock hanging above the fireplace. A large rectangular rug depicting a creepy spider. A mirror hanging in the back of the study room. Two comfy chairs aiming toward the fireplace. A wooden study desk with a lamp, paper, and pencils on it. And a crystal chandelier hanging on the ceiling. There are a lot of furniture objects in the whole study room.

"It seems we're in some kind of study room." Cure Egret noted.

"No doubt about it." Cure Berry agrees, "But why are we here, and where's the rest of our team?"

"I guess after we fell asleep from those gardenias we must've got separated when those dolls took us and split the team when we were unconscious." Matt stated.

"Well, we better find our teammates and find that Wonder Color." Cure Ace demanded.

Everyone agrees with Ace. The group looked around the room, until…

"Look!" Tarte speaks up and pointed, "There's the door."

"Great, now let's go." Cure Sword said. She then approaches the door. She turns the doorknob, but… "What the…? It's locked."

"Locked!?" Dabyi said in surprise, "But, how can that be-byi?"

"Here, let me try something." Cure Passion speaks as she approaches the door. Passion then quickly did a powerful round kick and attacked the door. But with a powerful Pow!, the door didn't budge, nor it cracked. "What? That's impossible."

"Hold on, I got something." Cure Peach said. She brought out her Cure Stick and performs her attack Love Sunshine Fresh. She aims her magical attack toward the door as the beam of her attack makes contact. But after Peach finishes her attack, the door remained spotless and stood still. "Eh!? Not even a scratch or a dent?

"Then we're in no ordinary room." Cure Rosetta stated in little concern. "We're kind of trapped."

"Then the only way out of here is to find the key to the door." Cure Pine stated.

"Agree," Flappy speaks up while in his Crystal Commune form, "Start looking for it-lapi."

Everyone nodded with Flappy, and the team looked for the key to the door. While everyone is searching high and low and every nook and cranny for the key, Matt Oda and Cure Bloom stumble upon the bookshelves and analyzes the books. They each picked out of book and looked through the pages.

In Bloom's view, she reads a book that contains horror stories. Frightened as she reads the inscription, its story noted about vampires, demons, and zombies. "Oh man, now I'm going to have nightmares." Bloom said as she shivers in great fear.

But for Matt, he reads a book only it contained medical information such as ailments and dispersal disease. He even read a section about different herbs and animal body parts are used to create potions for healing. Curious to know, Matt looks back at the same shelf where he got the book he currently holds. There he sees a couple more books entitled medical and illnesses on them. "Odd," Matt speaks to himself, "if they say that she's a witch, why does she have these medical books?" Matt then puts the book he holds back into the shelf, but then he spots something on the top of the bookshelf. He grabs it and holds a newspaper with a front-page news cover on it. On the news article stated: Robbery Occurrences Increase! Be on High Alert. "Thefts?" Matt read and pondered. He also discovers that the newspaper is from Pastel Square, and it was dated a few months ago. Matt became even more concerned and curious.

But while Matt is busying researching the clues he discovered, the girls and fairies looked high and low for the key to the door. But so far, they got zero results.

"Nothing! I can't find the key." Cure Diamond called to her team as she looks around the fireplace.

"Me neither." Cure Egret followed.

"Then…, are we trapped in here forever?" Cure Peach said in fear.

"Nah, don't be silly." Just then, the team heard a voice. Suddenly, a hole opened from the ceiling, and a projector appeared. The machine turned on and projected Lilac on the screen and on a blank wall. "There's no reason for you to panic, I mean not yet anyway." said Lilac from projector's speakers.

"Lilac?" Cure Pine said in a questionable mood.

"You can get out, only one condition: You must solve and pass ten tricky questions in this escape room."

"An escape room?" Cure Bloom wonders.

"I heard those." Matt speaks as he got everyone's attention, "It's those puzzle-solving rooms. Each time you solve a puzzle in a specific room, you get a new puzzle until you get the key which is the goal. You have a certain time limit before the game is over."

"You know those-fupu?" Foop asked.

"I tried it a few times with my friends back in my home country. Beat them twice."

"Ah, so somebody knows how this game works." Lilac speaks, "Just like he said, solve all the clues in this room, and you'll get the key and win. But there is one catch, and you'll need to use your wits at your full percent. As the clock keeps turning, your lives will be on the line." The group becomes wary of what Lilac meant. Then on the projector's screen, Lilac brought up a piece of raw meat in one hand, and a hand-size black and purplish spider on the other hand. "You have thirty minutes to solve and flee the escape room, because if you don't…" Then Lilac brings the meat closer to the spider, and when the meat is in range of the spider…

Chomp! Munch! Chomp! Chomp! Munch! Slurp!

The spider ate every piece of meat leaving the bone meatless. The girls, the fairies, and Matt became stunned of fear.

"And that's what going to happen to you." Lilac finished speaking and kept a calm grin. "This is just one of these carnivorous spiders I'm showing, but your lives will be devoured by ten thousand-fold of these creatures. I'm sending you the first clue right now." Then a letter fell from the same hole where the projector popped out and headed straight to the floor. Cure Rosetta picked it up, and everyone else noticed. "As soon as this projector ends, the clock hanging above the fireplace will start the countdown. Remember you have thirty minutes to survive and escape your fate. So good luck…," Lilac smiles and waves goodbye, "because you'll need it." but, she makes an evil grin.

The group made a little fearful look on their faces. Then the projector stopped projecting the screen and is lifted back into the hole of the ceiling. The hole on the roof also closed. Once the projector is gone, tick tock tick tock the clock above the fireplace started to move its second hand. The countdown begins, and the team jolted.

"It's on!" Cure Pine said in fright.

"Quick! Open the letter!" Tarte shouted, "What's the first clue?"

"Kyu-AA!" Chiffon cried.

Cure Rosetta pulls out the paper and unfolds it revealing the first clue. Rosetta says the first clue out loud, "I'm tall when I'm young, and I'm short when I'm old. What am I?"

"What?" Cure Bloom said in confusion, "What's 'tall when it's young, and short when it's old?' What kind of clue is this?"

"I don't know." Cure Egret replies to her comrade in concern, "Is it a balloon?"

"But a balloon rises and lowers itself from its air." Cure Passion noted, "it does not get tall or short."

"Be calm everyone." Matt said in a firm tone, "We can do this. The answer to this clue lies within this area. Just look around and think hard."

And everyone did exactly what Matt commanded. The group searched the whole study room. Then Rosetta spots something and widens her eyes in realization. "I've got it!" Rosetta shouted to the team.

"What? What is it?" Cure Sword said while panicking a little.

Rosetta pointed the only candle hanging on a wall. "A candle!"

"A candle?" Cure Berry ponders.

"Yes, just like the clue says. It's tall when it's young and solid, but if you light its wick, it's short when it's old and melts."

"Yes Rosetta!" Matt shouted in a proud tone, "That's it! Hurry to the candle."

The group did as they approached the candle. Matt grabbed the candle and inspects it. He then discovered the candle's wax has a hollow space that contains another piece of paper. He shakes out the paper and opens it which reveals another clue.

"Hurry Matt," Cure Bloom said in concern, "what does the next clue say?"

Matt reads the next clue, "A row of certain color books is what you seek, A certain order must be placed to make them unique."

"A row of books huh?" Cure Ace ponders.

"Guys!" Tarte called out to the group while looking at the clock, "We've only got 25 minutes left!"

Everyone begins to panic a little. "We're going to need a miracle." Matt said in alarm.

The Happiness Charge, the Suite, and the Max Heart Pretty Cures, their fairies, and Tint are surrounded by many ghosts that popped out of the portraits. Creepy looking, the girls and the fairies all have a frightened look on their faces. Cure Beat is definitely in a tremendous fearful state.

"EEYAAHH! GO AWAY!" Cure Beat screamed as she crouches and covers her head.

"I'm terrified!" Tint cried in fright.

"WooOoOooOOooOOOooo!" a ghost shouted in a haunted scream.

"WhAt'S tHe MAtTeR?" said another ghost, "YoU sCAred?"

The group started to shiver as if ghosts are now their new phobia, until…

"Of course I'm scared, but I'm not giving up!" They heard, both the team and the ghosts, and turned to see Cure Melody in great confidence with a little intimidation look on her face. "It is frightening that you try to scare us, but no matter what I'm not letting fear get the best of me. As long as my comrades are right beside me and believing in me, I'm not scared and alone." Melody turns to Beat who is stopped shaking in fear after hearing Melody's courageous words. "That's why Beat you're not alone." Melody offers her hand to lift Beat up off the floor. Beat receives Melody's hand and stands up. "We are here with you. It's okay to be scared, but that shows us you need help, and your friends are here to protect you. We're in this together, through thick and thin, ghosts and monsters. Right, Beat?" Melody winks at her teammate.

When Beat heard Melody compassionate words, and her kindness and loyalty to Beat, the guitar-playing Cure smiles and makes a tear in her eye. "Right Melody." Cure Beat happily and sadly replies, "I was scared, but with my friends right beside me, nothing will stop me, not even my own dark fears." Cure Beat then makes a confident and firm look on her face. "I will fight to the very end."

"Me too." Cure Honey said with a wink, "I was scared too, but with or without my Pretty Cure pals, I will never stop or let fear stand in my way. Just like Melody said, 'fear' increases our courage and will power for those who want to save their friends and families."

"I agree." Cure White said, "I got to admit it, I was scared too. But with Black and Luminous or without them, I always believe they are next to me supporting me, or I believe in myself knowing that what to protect the most precious friends and family that I love more than fear blocking my path."

With those positive statements, the group then all made firm and fighting stances at the ghosts. The phantoms then became a little wary. "So you see you invisible freaks…," Cure Lovely said with confident attitude, "you're the ones who should be scared now." All the ghosts then made a worried look on their horrific faces.

"Wow…, they're better and braver than I thought." Tint said in little surprise.

It is then, the Pretty Cures perform and chant their magical attacks. In a flash, the bright and powerful Pretty Cure attacks blown all the ghosts away. Once the group finished their attacks, they looked around the room. The Gallery is lit up by the bright candles, and the portraits that had a person inside of it are back into the paintings. Everything's back to normal as if the people never popped out of their canvases.

"Did we do it?" Cure Princess questions.

"Well done girls…" the group heard and turned to the source. They all see a ragged white sheet that's moving by itself. At first, the ghosts are still alive, but when the sheet flipped over…, "You Pretty Cures are much braver than we thought." Periwinkle said with a cheeky grin.

"Guh, Periwinkle?" Black said in little shock.

"What do you mean 'we?'" Fortune asked.

Just then, more ragged sheets appeared and risen from the floor. At first, the girls and the fairies became wary again, but the sheets reveal to be all the dolls the Pretty Cure team met earlier from the foyer.

"You guys?" Tint said in shock.

"There's no need to fear," Periwinkle speaks softly and calmly, "You have passed this test with ease. Showing your courageous determination is just perfect enough to tell us that nothing, not even fear or your phobias, will stop you girls from completing your mission. Maybe you have what it takes to challenge Violet, our Mistress."

"Thanks for our acknowledgment," Cure Black speaks as she is a little irritated from the dolls deceitful trick, "but where are our other teammates?"

"Don't get angry at me. I have good confidence your friends and comrades are doing just fine. In fact, I'll show you the way to your pals and the Mistress's room at the same time." Then the door of the room opened by itself. "Follow us, and don't worry… You pleased us, so we won't hurt you."

"Um, okay…" Cure Rhythm said in an odd mood.

"I hope this is not another trap." Cure Beat whispered to Cure Muse.

"Me too." Muse quietly replied.

"Oh, it's not." Periwinkle whispered to the two Cures. Beat and Muse jolted by Periwinkle immediate presence. "Alright, you two. Enough stalling; the mistress and your friends are waiting." Periwinkle leads the way, and the Pretty Cure group followed her.

Back in the mirror room, the Pretty Cure 5, the Heartcatch, and the Smile Pretty Cures, with their fairies, are battling their dark clone selves. Because they're the dark versions of the real Pretty Cures, the dark doppelgangers have the same power and attacks just like the real deals.

"Why do you even bother to keep fighting for the sake of everyone's lives." Blossom Mirage speaks while fighting Cure Blossom. "Ever since you're little and now, you are always so introverted and intimidated to others around you. You always lived in fear thinking people will treat you as someone weak. You were called the weakest Pretty Cure warrior." Blossom remembered and blinked after hearing what her dark double said. "Do you still want to live in fear like that forever?"

"As for you Peace," Bad End Peace speaks with an evil look, "You're also scared and shy around other people. You're afraid and thinking how people will criticize your hard artwork." Cure Peace widens her eyes in shock after hearing what her dark copy said. "So, you're okay to continue and have that fearful side of you forever?"

"Cure Rouge…," Dark Rouge speaks to her real self, "You may be the Cure of Passion, but you're a real chicken when it comes to ghosts, right?" Cure Rouge gasped after hearing her dark doppelganger. "You stand tall and look tough to others, but when it comes to phantoms and specters, you freak out and become immobilized. Do you want to keep that feeling forever?"

It was then that not only the doubles are just the dark sides of the Pretty Cures, but they show and reveal the fear side from the real Cures. The real Pretty Cures and their fairies became a little scared.

"Isn't it pathetic?" Dark Lemonade speaks evilly, "How can a hero save an entire world if they have a fear problem that you had for a while?"

"Pah-lease…," Marine Mirage mocked, "even it isn't the 'scared' fear you all have, you still have the 'defeat' fear within you. Like you Cure Marine, you hate to lose to your big sister. Am I right?" Cure Marine gasped a little understanding of her past envy self.

"A hero can't save the world if they let fear, even the slightest, stand in their way." Bad End Happy speaks. "You're just like us counterparts appearing before again. I wonder why?"

"Perhaps, we're exactly like you but much worse." Dark Milky Rose said evilly.

The real warriors are speechless knowing that their dark doubles speak the truth. The evil doppelgangers smirk evilly and stare coldly at the heroes.

"We knew it." Dark Aqua said, "As long as your dark and secret fears reside in your hearts, you'll never let it go and concentrate on saving Spectrum Land."

The Pretty Cures then drop their fighting stance and begin to feel defeat. The heroines are thinking that if they have a phobia problem, they'll be a nuisance to the whole team by slowing everyone down.

"We know we can't defeat you guys like last time," Blossom Mirage speaks in a calm but evil manner, "but you can't get rid of us. Because, we all represent that dark side of the real you, and we all carry that fear in your hearts both light and dark." But Blossom Mirage then offers her hand toward the heroines. "But there's no reason to continue to fight. Just admit defeat, and all this struggle will be over. All we want to do is help you by letting us keep you safe. Meaning letting your fears keep you safe. Fear, after all, makes us protect us from harm. What do you say?"

With Blossom Mirage's offer, every doppelganger offered their hand to the Pretty Cures. At first, a few Cures are about to take their hand…

"I still won't do it…"

Everyone heard and turned to Cure Blossom who made her decision and spoke. "Yes, it's like you said, I'll never get rid of this shyness within me." Blossom stated, "But that doesn't mean I should give up. I know I can't erase my dark and fear self, Blossom Mirage," Blossom then smiles at her dark double, "but I want to acknowledge you."

Mirage Blossom blinked. "Me? But why?"

"Because you made me who I truly am. If I was all outgoing and never afraid of anyone at all, I might be a nuisance to people I know and around me. I mean nobody wants to be around a person who's always annoying happy and standing next to them all the time. Kind of like Marine…" Cure Marine is not pleased as she puffs her face. "But showing my intimidation and shyness is like showing that I'm harmless and kind to others. People and my friends will not see me as a troublesome person. So, I'm proud to be who I truly am. This fear of introversion will never disappear, but it can show it's bright potential to others." Cure Blossom then smiles to her dark double. "Blossom Mirage, thanks for being there for me and making me who I am now." Blossom Mirage became speechless.

After witnessing Blossom's wise words and courageous action, the other Pretty Cures did the same thing.

"Bad End Peace," Cure Peace speaks to her dark counterpart, "You may be my dark self, but without you, I wouldn't ever have any friends." Bad End Peace becomes confused. "If I weren't such a crybaby, my friends Happy and the others would never come to the rescue. I wouldn't have them as my true friends. And if I was aggressive and strict to others, well…, that would've much worse because I would scare them and never have any friends. They say you need to make changes, but some things are not meant to change, like being who I am. I am a crybaby, but that's who am I, and I always will be. Just like Blossom said, being scared and shy is a good thing to let other people know that I'm no threat." Bad End Peace didn't say a word but is surprised.

"And Dark Rouge," Cure Rouge says to her evil doppelganger, "I'm always afraid of ghosts, but as long as there is a light of courage within me, whether it's bright or faint, I'll never let fear beat me. And as long as I have my friends believe in me, I'll do anything to protect my precious friends. And that's why I'm known as the Cure of Passion because saving my friends, my family, and all the innocent people is my main priority than letting phantoms and specters get in my way." Dark Rouge became mesmerized by Cure Rouge's words.

Milky Rose speaks to her evil self, "And I may not win Coco's heart yet, but all I can do is give my full support and respect to protect and keep Coco's smile go on forever. You are my dark-self representing my jealousy to Dream, but I will use that jealousy to keep Coco safe as well." Dark Milky Rose didn't say a word.

It was then that all the real Cures' accepted their fear and continue to smile no matter what stands in their way. Their fairies are proud of the courageous and honest effort and determination. All the dark doubles didn't say anything but are awed by their real selves.

"Are you sure about all this?" Dark Lemonade asks.

Cure Lemonade nods in response, and then she speaks, "Remember Matt Oda? He's not a Pretty Cure, but his biggest fear is that he didn't want to lose us because we're his best friends."

"Even though we just met him, his fear of losing us increased his courage." Cure Aqua stated.

"So, we're all trying to say is that our darkness and fear will always be with us, but it gives us the energy and the light to be who we are." Cure Happy said with a grin.

Every dark copy heard the Cures, and then they all make smiles to their real selves.

"You girls sure wised up." Bad End Beauty noted.

"We admit defeat." Dark Mint calmly speaks, "But just don't forget we will show up and take over your side."

"We know that." Cure Sunshine said and winked.

"After all, you're part us." Cure Moonlight said and winks.

It is then mirrors appeared behind the dark doppelgangers. The dark counterparts then entered the mirrors. Both the dark copies and the real cures touch their hands on the mirror in symmetric reflection. Both the dark and light sides of the Cures kept smiling.

"Take good care of Coco and the others." Dark Milky Rose says with a grin.

"You can be sure of that." Milky Rose said with a wink.

"I'm proud of you Tsubomi Hanasaki." Blossom Mirage complemented. Cure Blossom grins and her eyes sparkle. "I'll see you around."

Then all the dark versions of the Cures then backed into their mirror reflection. The mirrors are then floated back where they are hung initially or laid on the walls. Then the mirror room lit up bright enough to see the whole area.

"My, My…, well done Pretty Cures." A familiar girl's voice got the group of Pretty Cures attention. They, including their fairies, turned to the source, and there they see Iris standing at the opened door made from the room's wall.

"It's Iris." Cure Peace stated.

"And look," Cure Aqua speaks, "a section of the wall opened."

"A hidden door." Cure Moonlight said, "That's why we couldn't find the exit to this room.

Iris steps inside and toward the gang. "I got to admit, you girls are stronger than you appear." Iris says, "I expected you girls to overcome your fears from your dark selves, but I never thought you could befriend your evil sides. That wasn't part of the test, but I'm amazed by that movement. It proves that you truly are the Pretty Cure heroes that will save Spectrum Land."

"So, I guess that means, we passed, right?" Cure Rouge asks. Iris smirks evilly, but she nods in response to Rouge.

"Hold on," Cure March speaks up, "What about the others? Where are they?"

"Now, now…, don't worry." Iris said calming the group down. "They are fine. In fact, they are outside waiting for you guys. Come young ones, I'll show you the way."

The small group of the Pretty Cure team doesn't know if they can trust Iris. But if they passed their and Iris's test, then the gang should follow Iris to find their other teammates. So, everyone followed Iris and are exiting the mirror room.

Cure Blossom is the last one to exit the room. But before she leaves, she spots a mirror close to her. She doesn't see her reflection, yet she stares at the mirror for a moment. Then Blossom grins at the mirror. "Thank you…, Blossom Mirage." Blossom said. She then leaves the mirror room.

Back in the large study room, the remaining Pretty Cures, their fairies, and Matt are panicking as they just receive their ninth clue. With only six minutes remaining from their time limit, their lives are about to get killed.

"What's the next clue!?" Cure Diamond shouts in fright.

Cure Egret reads the clue, "Turn me on for I show you a guide, for a better view I will provide."

"What's something you can turn on for a better view?" Cure Berry said while she is worried.

"We're running out of time!" Cure Bloom shouted.

The group thought hard and looked around the study room for the answer that fits the clue. Being pressured by the time limit they have left, sweat was dripping from their heads. They kept looking until Cure Diamond found the answer.

"I got it!" Diamond speaks up, "The lamp! There on the desk!"

The gang rushed to the lamp and turned it on. The light from the lamp showed shadowy signs on the desk depicting "L.B.D."

"L.B.D.?" Cure Sword said in confusion, "What does that mean?"

"Remember," Cure Ace speaks, "The clue says it's a guide. So, 'L.B.D.' must be a guide to something."

"But what!?" Tarte panicked.

As everyone ponders about this strange guide, Cure Passion noticed the drawers she sees on the desk. Then Passion's mind begins to hit her. She looked back at the lettering clue and the drawers again, when… "I've got it!" Passion shouted and got the others' attention. "The left bottom drawer!"

"What?" Cure Peach questioned.

"It's telling us to open the left bottom drawer. The letters are acronyms. 'L.B.D.' is short for 'left bottom drawer.' That's what it's saying." To confirm her statement is correct, Passion opens the drawer she assumes, and she discovers another letter. She grabs it and opens it.

"Way to go Passion!" Cure Pine cheered.

"No time to cheer!" Cure Diamond shouted in concern, "It's the tenth and last clue. What does it say?"

Passion then reads the final clue as it states, "Time is the essence for this vital phrase stands: When you see my face, the key is below my hands."

"A face and hands?" Cure Heart wonders.

"Hurry you guys!" Raquel warned the group as he noticed what's on the clock, "Only three minutes left-quel!"

The group then looks for the answer to the final clue as the team sees portraits and statues of different people.

Bloom goes to a portrait depicting a high-class gentleman. "Here's a man with a face and hands," Bloom speaks, "but I don't see a key."

"I found this statue of a knight." Pine told the group, "but I can't find the key."

The gang kept looking for the key, but it is nowhere in sight. Everyone looked at every object that contained a person's face and hands, but there still is no key to be found. Somehow, the group felt the final clue is a very tough safe to crack.

"Anything!?" Diamond said while being scared.

"No!" Berry replied back in fright, "We can't find the key."

"But we searched everywhere that has a face and hands." Egret stated.

"Is this it?" Sword said while being scared, "Are we going to die?"

"No! I'm too young to die!" Bloom cried.

"Me too-lapi!" Flappy agreed.

"GAH! I don't want to be devoured!" Peach screamed, "I'll never eat another donut from Kaori again!"

"Seriously…" Tarte said in exasperation.

Chiffon begins to cry, but Passion tries to comfort the baby fairy.

"Everyone! RELAX!" Matt shouted very loudly as he started the Pretty Cure group, "Listen, the more we panic, the more time we waste. We can all do this. Just be like me. Take deep breaths and look again with careful thoughts. I know you can all this, ladies. You're all great Pretty Cure heroes, but you won't be great heroes if you keep panicking. If you let fear and anxiety take over your minds under stress, then you all lose your focus and start making mistakes. We can do this everybody, we just have to be calm and let our minds work together. We made it this far from the clues we solve, and we will solve this final clue together."

"Matthew…" Ace said in little awe.

"Okay girls, take a deep breath, and then start looking around calmly."

And the Pretty Cure group did. Once they are relaxed, they tried again and looked around the study room to find the answer that relates to the last clue.

But then, Heart spotted something that hit her. She noticed the clock hanging above the fireplace. When she analyzing the clock, with the pendulum swinging, very carefully… "I'VE GOT IT!" Everyone else heard Heart. Then Heart goes to the clock and opens the case. She then tries to pull out the pendulum from the clock, and she did… "The key!" Indeed, the pendulum's pole revealed to have a key's teeth. The truth is the key is disguised as the clock's pendulum.

"Way to go Heart!" Matt shouted with joy.

"Hurry up!" Sword shouted "Fifteen seconds left!"

Heart noticed, and she immediately heads for the doors of the study room. Heart places the key into the door's keyhole and tries to undo the lock.

Tarte shouts states the countdown, "Eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two—"

Click! Door's lock opened, and the doors swung outward.

At the same time… DIIIINNNNGGGNNNGGGNNNGG!

The moment the clock started ringing, indicating time's up, holes on the ceiling appeared, and an enormous group of carnivorous spiders fell and landed on the floor. The flesh-eating spiders spotted the girls, the fairies, and Matt.

But the Pretty Cure group scurried out of the room by exiting through the doors. The spiders chased after them. Sword and Matt are the last ones to exit the room, and as the two got outside… WHAM! The gentleman and the idol Cure slammed the doors shut trapping the spiders inside the study room. Once the gang is safe, they all collapsed to the floor panting in exhaustion.

"Jeez! No more!" Cure Berry complained.

"That… was… very… close…" Cure Sword said while in complete exhaustion.

"Stick a fork in me, I'm done…" Cure Bloom said while panting.

After the gang catches enough of their breath, they all stand.

"Heart," Rosetta speaks, "well done solving the final the clue. How did you know?"

Heart smiles and replies, "Well, we first read the clue by the wrong meaning. Remember the clue stated 'time is the essence?' The face and hands in the clue didn't mean a person's face or hands, it meant the clock's face and hands. And below it's 'hands' is the pendulum which happens to be the key I expected."

"Clever thinking Heart." Peach complemented, "I guess Matt's smart thinking rubbed off on you."

"Actually, I should be thanking Matt for shouting at us." Matt blinked from Heart's words, "If he didn't stop us panicking when our lives about to be eaten, then we would've never escaped the room. If our fear kept us from concentrating, then we would never achieve anything if fear is in our way. So Matt, thanks for the big help." Heart winks at Matt.

"Aw gee…" Matt said shyly, "It's just… I couldn't focus when all of you guys kept shaking and shouting in fear. It was a terrible distraction. I had to take action and make sure you guys are calm and safe. My thinking skills take a lot of time and silence to get to the answer."

"Well Matt, either you helped or not, you're still our most reliable teammate to us Pretty Cures." Egret happily said.

"Yep," Berry agrees, "like I said, you're a true and perfect gentleman."

"I definitely agree." Just then, the group heard Lilac's voice and turned to her who is standing next to the gang. They were a bit startled by the doll's sudden appearance. "I'm really amazed you've made it alive and successfully solve all the ten clues. You guys got guts and brains."

"Maybe next time gives us a challenge that doesn't involve our lives on the line." Bloom said in irritation.

"Yeah," Sword agrees with anger, "Do you know how stressful and scared we were when our time was almost up?"

"But you all passed the test, right?" Lilac speaks keeping her calm mood. Everybody blinked at Lilac. "The test was to handle and endure any stressful and fearful situation that's in your way. It's like you said, if you let fear and deep anxiety get ya all the time, you'll never achieve anything because it's a distraction in your mind. But you all kept your cool, and successfully survived the trial. Ergo, you passed and have my deepest gratitude." Lilac bows for acknowledgment. "Mistress Violet will be very pleased by marvelous efforts."

"Well thanks for the compliment," Tarte speaks as he is a bit irritated by Lilac, "but where our other friends anyway?"

"They are safe and still in one piece. In fact, they are all waiting for you."

"Well, can we meet them?" Peach asked.

"Certainly, follow me, kids."

Lilac then leads the way as the group followed the doll. As the gang followed the doll, Matt and Rosetta, who are behind everyone, whispered to each other.

"So that's what an escape room is." Rosetta quietly speaks to Matt, "I thought that was fun despite our lives on the line."

"Well, I think that's the last time I go into an escape room again after what we experienced." Matt said in distress.

After a few minutes passed, Lovely and the rest of her group kept following Periwinkle until they all arrived back at the foyer again.

"Hey," Lovely speaks up, "We're back to where we started."

"That's right," Black agrees, "But where are the others?"

"Hey guys!" Lovely's group heard and turned to the source. Appearing and coming close to the first group of the Pretty Cures is Blossom, who called, and her group with Iris leading the group.

"Thank goodness you guys are okay." Beauty speaks.

"Is this everyone?" Mint asks.

"Almost." The two groups heard another voice and turned to the source. And there they see Heart shouted and her group, with Lilac guiding them, approaching to the rest of the gang.

And everyone's back together as a full Pretty Cure team.

"I'm glad everybody is safe and sound." Ace stated in little relief.

"And it looks like we each passed all the tests that Violet gave us." Honey stated.

"That's 'Mistress Violet' for you guys." Iris speaks up in a demanding tone and startled the team, "You have no right to treat our master like she's nothing."

"Speaking of," Lovely speaks up, "now that we passed your tests of fear, shouldn't we see your master?"

"But of course, Pretty Cures." Lilac replies keeping her calm and evil mood. Lilac then looks up to the roof and says, "Master?"

"Indeed Lilac," said Violet in hollow and echo voice, "Well done Pretty Cures, you shall now meet me in my quarters and face me as your final test."

The Pretty Cure team heard and became wary by the echoing voice. But then and suddenly, the stairs started to move on their own. The stairs stretched and climbed up all the way near the ceiling and where there is a wall with drapes over it. But in the next few seconds, the curtains pulled away from each other revealing a big and creepy looking arch two-door. The heroes and fairies became more cautious.

"Just up the stairs and behind those doors… is none other than Mistress Violet waiting for you… mortal beings." Lilac stated calmly and evilly.

"So behind those doors…" says Tint being a little scared.

"…Is where Violet lives." Matt, being a little frightened, finishes Tint's statement.

The Pretty Cure team is curious but a little scared of what anticipation awaits behind the doors and Violet.
