Wish Upon A Shooting Star-Ch 3
As Derek and Reid met the rest of the team up the street from Penelopes apartment he couldn't help but smile, Reid glanced over at his best friend and shook his head as they walked over to join the others. Dave looked at his smiling step-son and asked, "what's got you smiling son?", Derek said, "ohhh, nothing, nothing at all", Reid then said, "Penelope lives right there" as he pointed the large apartment building.
JJ said, "ahhhhh so that's what's got my big brother smiling at a crime scene huh?", Emily sighed and said, "I've got to say that love totally agrees with you Morgan", Derek said, "Em I" and Hotch said, "JJ I need you and Emily to go interview people in that building" as he pointed to Penelope's apartment building, Derek sighed and then looked at Hotch as him and Reid were instructed to talk to the officers to see if their was any new details on the latest kidnapping.
Emily and JJ felt bad for Derek becuase they knew that he wanted to go see her again but they followed Hotch's orders as the four of them turned and went their separate ways to get started working on the case. A few minutes later they were standing in front of the final door and when they knocked a blonde woman opened the door and said, "yes, can I help you?", Emily said, "I'm Emily Prentiss Hotchner and this is Jennifer Reid and we're with", she said, "wait, Reid as in Spencer Reid?", JJ said, "yes, he's my husband".
Penelope said, "he's a very nice man", JJ said, "that he is, he's one of the best men I know", Emily said, "you're Penelope, right, Penelope Garcia?", she nodded her head and said, "yes but how did you know that?", JJ said, "Derek and Spence were talking about you earlier". Penelope's eyes widdened and she said, "t t talking about me?", Emily said, "nothing bad I promise, they were just talking about the interview they did with you that's all", hearing that seemed to calm her down a little.
JJ said, "can we come in and talk to you for a minute?", she said, "yeah sure" and then stepped aside and watched as they walked through her front door and headed over to the living room where they all three sat down on the couch. Emily said, "the reason we're here is that there has been another kidnapping and it was right up the street so we're interviewing everybody in the surrounding area to see if they've seen or heard anything over the past few hours".
Penelope said, "no sorry, I didn't see or hear anything, I was on my computer", Emily said, "on your computer?", Penelope said, "yes mam", Emily grinned and said, "please call me Emily or Em", she nodded her head and said, "okay Emily". JJ said, "and you can call me JJ if you'd like", Penelope smiled and then said, "okay JJ' as the three women sat in silence for a few seconds before Penelope said, "oh, my computer" as she stood up and walked over to the desk and stood with JJ and Emily.
She had told them that she worked at as a waitress to make money but that her real love was the computer and as JJ and Emily listened to her it was oh so obvious that she was highly intelligent and the way she was talking about computer languages was blowing both of their minds. JJ said, "wait, so you're like a hacker, right?", Penelope nodded her head and said, "yes, wait and I in trouble?", Emily shook her head and said, "not at all, it's just that everything you've described sounds amazing".
JJ said, "soooooo if we asked could you I don't know, maybe pull up surveliance camera footage for us?", Penelope said, "yeah sure, it would only take a few minutes" as she sat down and they watched in awe as her fingers flew across the keyboard. A few minutes later she said, "okay this is from the area you described as the seen of the abduction", the trio watched as minute after minute passed with nothing happening and then suddenly a black van pulled up and parked in the alley and a few minutes later the latest victim walked by it, they watched as the door opened and she was pulled inside the van and a few seconds later the van pulled away.
Emily said, "is their anyway that you can pull up the back of the van so we can get the license number?", she said, "I'll see what I can do" as again her fingers flew across the keyboard and soon in front of them was the liscense plate. Emily pulled out her cell and hit a number and after a few rings she heard, "did you find something Em?", Emily smiled and said, "yes, yes we did, get Derek and Spencer and meet us at Penelope's apartment", Hotch said, "we'll be there as soon as possible" and as Penelope watched Emily put her cell back into her pocket she inwardly smiled, she smiled knowing that she would be seeing Derek again.
