Indigo League Part 7: The Grass Field
Ash was at Pokémon Center getting his Gengarite worked on
"Ok, Gengar, what would you like to wear the Gengarite with?" Ash asked
"Gengar Gengar." Gengar said gesturing his face
"You mean you wanna wear it on a mask?" Ash asked
"Geng." Gengar nodded
"Alright." Ash said as he turned to Nurse Joy. "My Gengar wants to wear it in a mask, please."
"You got it." Joy said affirmatively as she left with the Gengarite
"Ash." A voice said
Ash turned & saw Delia & Professor Oak
"Mom, Professor." Ash said happily
"Hey sweetheart." Delia greeted with a hug
"What are you doing here?" Ash asked
"We came here to cheer you on." Oak said
"Did you know that Gary lost?" Ash asked
"Yes, but it'll be best for him to see every path has a few bumps along the way." Oak said
"Well, I'm glad you're here, I was just having Gengar's Mega Stone worked on." Ash said
"Gengar." Gengar said
"That reminds me, a couple of your Pokémon wanted to come with us to see you." Oak said as he pulled out a Poké Ball & a Dream Ball & sent out Ash's Jigglypuff & Clefable
"Jigglypuff." Jigglypuff said
"Clefable." Clefable said
"Hi Clefable, hi Jigglypuff." Ash greeted
"Jigglypuff Jiggly!" Jigglypuff said happily as she jumped in Ash's arms.
"Clefable." Clefable greeted as she hugged Ash
"I'm glad to see you too." Ash said as he hugged them back
"Ash, we have finished working on your Gengarite." Joy said as she gave Ash a black eye mask with the Gengarite on the forehead part
"Thanks Nurse Joy." Ash said, giving the mask to Gengar
"Gengar." Gengar said as he put on the mask
"Looking good, Gengar." Ash said giving him a thumbs up
"So, Ash, do you know who's your next opponent?" Delia said
"Well, her name is Jeanette Fisher & I'm facing her in the Grass Field." Ash said "Speaking of that, I have to get going, my match is gonna start any minute."
"Alright, but before you go will you like to take Jigglypuff or Clefable for your next match."Oak said
"I'm going with Jigglypuff." Ash said.
"Oh? & why's that, my boy?" Oak said curiously
"Well, Jigglypuff has a couple of techniques we'd been working on & I think now's the time to use it in the match." Ash explained
"Ooh, sounds very exciting." Delia said with interest
"Gengar, Jigglypuff, return." Ash said as he returned his Pokémon & left. "Wish me luck."
At the Grass Field
"Ladies & gentlemen, the fourth round of the Grass Field is about to begin. On the green side we have Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." The announcer said
"Let's do this." Ash said
"Right." Meowth nodded
"Pika." Pikachu nodded
"& on the red side we have Jeannette Fisher from Crimson City." The announcer said
A red carpet from the doorway & a girl with dark purple hair, blue eyes, wearing a light red kimono with a long dark green skirt came walking in.
"I am honored." Jeanette said
"Trainers, select your Pokémon." The referee said
"Butterfree, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Butterfree
"Free Free." Butterfree said
"Ash is using his Butterfree." Oak said.
Just then Serena's Butterfree came out of her Poké Ball
"Free Free!" Serena's Butterfree cheered
"I guess you want to cheer on your mate, huh?" Serena said
"Free." Serena's Butterfree nodded
"Go, Beedrill!" Jeanette said as she sent out her Beedrill
"Bee." Beedrill buzzed
"Battle begin!" The referee said
ASH VS JEANETTE
"Butterfree, use Psybeam." Ash said. Butterfree fired a streaky blue beam with pink circles in it from his antennas
"Beedrill, dodge it & use Fell Stinger." Jeanette said. Beedrill dodge the attack & it's arms glow pinkish purple & hit Butterfree.
"Now, Sludge Bomb."
Beedrill fired multiple brown blobs of explosive sludge from its mouth
"Use Quiver Dance." Ash said
"Free." Butterfree said as he glowed white & dodged the attack leaving behind afterimages of himself.
"Use Poison Jab." Jeanette said. Beedrill's arm glowed purple & charged at Butterfree.
"Use Psychic." Ash said.
"Free." Butterfree said as his eyes glowed blue, telekinetically stopped Beedrill in its tracks, & lifted it up in the air
"Now, use Air Slash."
Butterfree wings glowed light blue, fired saw disc-like energy blades, & hit Beedrill
"Beedrill, Electroweb." Jeanette said. Beedrill released a web of yellow electricity from its mouth & trapped Butterfree.
"Freeeee!" Butterfree yelled in pain as he got shocked
"Now use Solar Beam." Jeanette said
"Beeee!" Beedrill buzzed as its wings glowed faint yellow
"Quick, use Tailwind." Ash said
"Freeeee!" Butterfree said as he created a swirling whirlwind by flapping his wings, which blew the Electroweb away & freed himself. The Electroweb was sent flying & captured Beedrill, causing it to cancel out the Solar Beam
"Beeeee!" Beedrill buzzed in pain as it got shocked & cancelled out the Solar Beam
"Now, use Air Slash once more." Ash said. Butterfree fired Air Slash & hit Beedrill which caused it to faint
"Beedrill is unable to battle, Butterfree wins." The referee declared
"Beedrill return." Jeanette said as she returned her Beedrill. "Go Scyther!"
Jeanette sent out her Scyther
"Scyther!" Scyther said
"Butterfree, use Aerial Ace." Ash said.
"Use Aerial Ace, Scyther." Jeanette said
Both Pokémon became surrounded by light blue streaks & clashed each other repeatedly
"Use Double Team." Jeanette said. Scyther glowed white & created multiple copies of itself.
"Use Swift." Ash said. Butterfree's wings glowed yellow & fired multiple yellow stars from them.
"Use Air Slash." Scyther & its clones' scythes glow light blue & fired saw disc-like energy blades from them which cut through the Swift & hit Butterfree.
"Use Stun Spore." Ash said. Butterfree flaps his wings & released released orange sparkling powder from them
"Scyther, Defog." Jeanette said. Scyther released a clear white wind from its wings which blew away the Stun Spore back at Butterfree & caused him become paralyzed
"Butterfree, return." Ash said as he returned Butterfree before smiling "You did good, take a long rest."
"& Ash recalls Butterfree, which Pokémon will he use to defeat Scyther?"
"Free." Serena's Butterfree sighed
"It's okay Butterfree, there's no need to be sad." Serena assured "Besides, you don't wanna see your mate get hurt, do you?"
"Free Free." Serena's Butterfree responded as she shook her head
"Alright, Jigglypuff, I choose you!" Ash said as he sent out his Jigglypuff
"Jigglypuff." Jigglypuff said
"Jigglypuff's a wise decision as Bug-Type Moves aren't very effective against her since she's part Fairy Type." Oak said
"& we get to see those techniques Ash told us about." Delia said excitedly
"Clefable!" Clefable cheered
"Remember what we practiced on, Jigglypuff." Ash reminded
"Jiggly." Jigglypuff nodded
"Use Rollout." Ash said. Jigglypuff glowed light pink & rolled in place
"Ash starts off with Rollout, but Jigglypuff isn't moving from its place. What could Ash be planning?" The announcer said
"Scyther use Slash." Jeanette said. Scyther's scythes glowed white & charged at Jigglypuff.
"Here it comes, Jigglypuff." Ash called out.
Scyther got closer & closer until it got close enough
"Now!" Ash said as Jigglypuff dodged the attack & rolled around the field at blind speed
"Wow, look how fast Jigglypuff's going, I can't even keep up with it while taking a picture." Todd said
"Now, I understand, Ash had Jigglypuff use Rollout while staying in place to increase the speed of her Rollout attack." Oak said "That must be one of Ash & Jigglypuff's techniques."
"Try to keep up with it by using Agility & use Fury Cutter." Jeanette said. Scyther chased after Jigglypuff at fast speed. Then it's scythes glowed light green & tried to hit Jigglypuff, but she kept avoiding the attack at blind speed.
"Alright Jigglypuff, attack." Ash said. Jigglypuff bounced off a wall & rolled into Scyther hard which caused it to stumble back & crash into another wall.
"Scyther, are you ok?" Jeanette asked
"Scyther." Scyther said as it stood up & shook it off
"Then use Air Slash." Jeanette said. Scyther fired Air Slash at Jigglypuff
"Dodge it & use Flamethrower." Ash said. Jigglypuff dodged the attack, puffed up, & shot fire from her mouth
"Use Double Team." Jeanette said as Scyther used Double Team & avoided the attack
"Jigglypuff, use Rest." Ash said
"Puff." Jigglypuff said as it fell asleep
"Now's our chance. Scyther, use Cross Poison." Jeanette said. Scyther & its copies' scythes glowed purple charged at Jigglypuff, & when they got close enough.
"Jigglypuff, Wakie Wakie!" Ash called out
A fiery explosion occurred & when the smoke cleared, Scyther had fainted & Jigglypuff was awake & unharmed. Everyone was stunned, shocked, & surprised.
"Scyther is unable to battle, Jigglypuff wins." The referee declared
"What the heck was that!?" Gary exclaimed "Did Jigglypuff just use Self-Destruct?"
"I don't think so, if she did use Self-Destruct, she would have fainted by now." Oak said, quite surprised
"It's another one of their techniques, Ash calls it Wakie Wakie." Serena explained "Once an opponent attacks Jigglypuff while she's using Rest, she explodes when the opponent is close to her. But the technique can have a damage recoil."
"Wow, that's impressively amazing." Delia said
"Fable." Clefable agreed
"Scyther return." Jeanette said as she returned Scyther. "Go Bellsprout."
Jeanette sent out her Bellsprout
"Bellsprout." Bellsprout said
"Huh?/Jiggly?" Ash & Jigglypuff said confusingly
"Why is she going with a Bellsprout?" Serena wondered
"Talk about desperate." Gary said
"It may look weak, but I wouldn't underestimate it." Oak said
"Bellsprout, use Sunny Day." Jeanette said
"Bellsprout!" Bellsprout said as it summoned a brighter sun
"Jigglypuff, use Flamethrower." Ash said as Jigglypuff fired Flamethrower
"Bell." Bellsprout said as it swiftly dodged the attack
"Whoa, it's fast." Serena said surprisingly
"That's Bellsprout's ability, Chlorophyll." Oak said "Its speed increases when the sunlight is harsh."
"Guess we're gonna have to fight speed with speed." Ash said "Use Rollout."
Jigglypuff charged up Rollout & rolled towards Bellsprout at blind speed, but Bellsprout kept dodging the attack at swift speed.
"Bellsprout, Poison Powder." Jeanette said. Bellsprout released purple sparkling powder from its mouth & hit Jigglypuff.
"Jiggly." Jigglypuff winced as she became poisoned
"Use Sing." Ash said as Jigglypuff prepared to sing
"Use Wrap." Jeanette said. Bellsprout released two vines from its leaves & wrapped them around Jigglypuff & covered her mouth.
"Mmmm Mmmm." Jigglypuff muffled
"Now, Venoshock." Jeanette said. Bellsprout fired multiple dark purple blobs of poison from its mouth & hit Jigglypuff which caused her to faint.
"Jigglypuff is unable to battle, Bellsprout wins." The referee declared
"Jigglypuff return." Ash said as he returned Jigglypuff "Muk, I choose you!"
Ash sent out his Muk
"Muk." Muk said
"Here's a move that you won't be able to dodge." Ash said. "Muk, use Shadow Punch."
Muk launched a black & purple fist-shaped aura from his fist & hit Bellsprout
"Hm, you managed to get a hit on Bellsprout, but you're gonna have to do more than that. Use Stun Spore." Jeanette said. Bellsprout released orange sparkling powder from its mouth
"Use Minimize." Ash said. Muk glowed pinkish-purple, shrank down, & avoided the attack
"Now use Haze."
Muk regained his size & released thick black smoke from its mouth.
"Jump now."
Muk jumped high above Bellsprout & blocked the sun.
"What?" Jeanette said in shock
"If we're gonna deal with Bellsprout's Chlorophyll Ability, then we'll just have to block the sun & attack from above." Ash said "Muk, use Fire Blast."
Muk fired a 大-shaped blast of yellow-orange fire from his mouth & hit Bellsprout which caused it to faint.
"Bellsprout is unable to battle, Muk wins. So the match goes to Ash of Pallet Town." The referee declared
"& there you have it, Ash Ketchum has won all four rounds & will be moving on to the final rounds." The announcer said
"We did it, Muk." Ash said happily
"Muk." Muk said as he hugged Ash
"Alright, Ash won." Serena said happily
"I'm so proud of him." Delia said proudly
"It was a terrific battle." Oak said
With the Gym Leaders
"I guess he picked up a few things from you, huh Koga?" Blaine said
"Indeed." Koga nodded
Unbeknownst to everyone, a woman with silvery-blue hair & silvery-blue eyes, wearing a yellow spaghetti strap cropped tank top that reveals her flat midriff, white knee-length pants with yellow beads, & yellow high heels & a black cat-fox-like Pokémon with crimson eyes & yellow rings on the ends of its ears & tail & on each side of its four legs were watching the match from afar
"Silver's nephew is quite the trainer, wouldn't you agree Umbreon?" The woman said
"Umbreon." Umbreon agreed
Hey Everyone, I hope you like the chapter. Sorry for taking so long, I was quite busy & Tev & I were talking about some things for the future sequels.
