Missing (Part 1)-
Jack watched from their perch on the stairs as the Overland family talked to the sheriff. They kept their voices quiet, but Jack could still hear what was being said. Jake was taken by an unknown figure on his way back from work.
Jack stood and walked up the stairs and into his room, eyes turning dark and hard, and they grabbed a bow and quiver full of arrows. They scaled to the roof and let themself drop onto the ground at the back of the house. Jack darted out into the forest, ready to find and save Black Ice, even at the cost of their own life.
.
Black Ice opened his eyes, looking around the room dazedly. His blue eyes widened as he focused, he knew where he was. He tried to sit up, but pain pierced his entire body. He threw his head back and screamed as it felt as if his body was being smelted.
His powers emerged, wishing to protect their Holder, but that only made the burning worse. Ice and frost exploded outside the black-haired boy as he fell unconscious.
.
Jack stopped at a small village for the night. They have been searching for their brother for three days now, non-stop. They paid for the cheapest room and put their items inside before collapsing on the bed, exhausted.
They closed their eyes and snapped them open moments later as a freezing cold and icy agony tore through them. Jack gasped and sat up, clutching at their chest and bending over in pain.
The pain disappeared just as it came. They opened their eyes after catching their breath and froze. Frost layered the walls and ice clung to their bed and clothing.
Jack swallowed and stood, stumbling as their legs gave out and collapsing to the ground as a freezing numbness filled them. The ice grew and Jack could see their breath. Ice and frost merged and covered the room, almost like a protective shell.
Jack felt exhaustion collide into them and drifted off into darkness before they knew what was happening.
