"So Ben you have a kid?" Red said ignoring Kitty's gushing

"Yes, sir I have a daughter that's 5 weeks old. And when my sister and brother-in-law passed I adopted their two boys they are 5 and 8 right now."

"So what about the child's mother?"

"Molly's mom killed herself 8 hours after she was born," Ben said sharing a look with Jackie "Annie is Andi's mom she has custody until we can get the house finished,"

"How is she taking your relationship with Jackie"

"She loves Jackie and is very happy that Jackie and I found each other." Ben smiled, "Andi and I were high school sweethearts but she was never interested in a permanent relationship. Even after she got pregnant she made it very clear that she was leaving me the baby and taking off"

"Kitty lets let the lovebirds get some rest and head to the hotel. You can call and check on the kids" Red said

"but Red"

"It's okay Mrs. Forman you two head out. I am gonna get some sleep and Ben is gonna go home and get some rest." Jackie said, "isn't that right Ben?"

And now

Jackie was sleeping soundly when Ben arrived the next morning. Smiling he sat her bag by the door and slid into the chair next to the bed. He watched as she slept. He took her hand in his and drifted off in the chair. He was brought back by Jackie talking softly.

He looked around and saw she was talking to a nurse. He smiled and squeezed her hand softly to let her know he was awake. She glanced over and smiled.

"Hey sleepyhead" she giggled

"Morning kitten"

"Miss Burkhart" the nurse growled irritably

"I have said all I have to say to you now go away and send in a different nurse."

"Listen here you little bitch you are getting your bath so shut up and act like an adult"

"I swear to god if you lay a hand on me I will scream bloody murder now get out of my room"

The nurse glared at her and quickly grabbed Jackie's arm. Ben shot up from the chair and shoved the nurse aside just as Jackie screamed. Three nurses and the doctor flew into the room seconds later.

"What the hell is going on here!" the doctor exclaimed

"That nurse assaulted Jackie so I shoved her away," Ben said as security showed up. He was trying to calm Jackie down.

"Remove her from the room and bring her to my office. Everyone else gets out" the doctor said

Ben tried to step away but Jackie had a death grip on his arm. "Kitten it's okay you are safe but I need to move so the doctor can look you over."

"NO" Jackie shouted. Ben kept talking as he removes her hands and moved to the other side and took her hand again.

"I am right here baby I am not going anywhere" Ben soothed her as he kept rubbing circles on her hand "that's it, sweetheart, just like that"

Jackie finally started calming down. The doctor hesitated before asking to look her over. She nodded and he quickly looked her over noting the scratches from the nurse. He cleaned and covered them before leaving the room.

Jackie pulled Ben to sit next to her on the bed. Holding him tight.

"Did you get ahold of Dr. Abbey?"

"Yes," Ben smiled, "she will do your session here later today. I also got ahold of the Dean and explained what was going on. He recommends taking an emergency leave for the semester and possibly take this year off. He has promised to hold your scholarship if you decide to take the rest of the year off. So if you want I can stop at the house in Point Place while we are there and take a look at it. My family has already agreed that if we decide to stay they will finish the house up for us. Don't make any decisions right now just think about it."

"Okay," Jackie said laying her head on his shoulder. "So what time do you have to leave?"

"Right after your session with Dr. Abbey," he said. "Sorry sweetheart"

"It's okay at least it's only for a few days,"

"Longest days of my life though," He said wrapping his arms around her.

Jackie smiled and settled herself into his arms drifting off to sleep again. Ben watched her sleep hoping that returning to Point Place wouldn't be a set back for her. He smiled to himself as she snuggled closer as she slept. He let a soft sigh as he relaxed and drifted off himself. That was how the Formans found then an hour later when they arrived.

Kitty noticed the bandages and pulled Red from the room to the nurses' desk to find out what happened. Red followed silently behind his wife.

"Excuse me," Kitty said arriving at the desk

"Yes," the nurse said not looking up

"Eyes up here," Kitty said, "I'm Kitty Forman and would like to know what happened to Jackie,"

The nurse's head shot up as she looked at woman, "Sorry ma'am. Give me just a moment and I will check her file."

Kitty waited impatiently. The nurse pulled up the file. "Dr. Lino has a mention in here about an incident but it says he will explain what happened when he does rounds. He should be checking on Jackie in about half-hour or so if you want to go to her room and wait."

"Thank you," Kitty said walking away

Kitty and Red, headed back to Jackie's room deciding it would be best to wait there. They walked in and noticed Jackie was awake now.

"Jackie dear how are you feeling,"

"A little sore but okay besides that,"

"That's good," Kitty smiled, "Dr. Lino should be coming by soon,"

"So Jackie I wanted to make sure it was okay with you beforehand. I am going to call Eric and have them get the den set up for you so you won't have to deal with stairs. Would that be okay?" Kitty said

"That's fine," Jackie said thoughtfully, "you should probably give them fair warning about my injuries and what happened. I am not sure I want to have to explain it to them. and if at possible see if maybe the gang could hold off visiting me until Monday if they insist on visiting. I don't want to see them unless I have Ben to back me up. Eric is fine but I would like Ben there before I see the rest of them."

"I will talk to them we want you as comfortable and stress-free as possible," Kitty assured her

"Thank you," Jackie smiled.

The four of then sat chatting until the doctor knocked and entered the room.

"Miss Burkhart I am very sorry about the incident this morning. We terminated the nurse and had police come and collect her until you decide if you want to press charges," Dr. Lino said, "I assure you nothing like this has happened before and it will hopefully never happen again."

"Incident?" Red asked

"One of the nurses got aggressive and pushy earlier Ben had to force her back," Jackie explained

"Oh my that's horrible," Kitty said.
