Fake Hatred - Ashe x Sejuani

Sejuani downed the remains of the large jug before slamming it down on the wooden counter. She was instantly hit with a wave of nausea and headache. Why was she doing this? Her match had ended terribly, with her teammates feeding to the enemy team. Not only that, but one of her opponents was her former Battlesister, the Frost Archer, Ashe.

Sejuani growled at the memory of the way Ashe had looked at her during the match. Sejuani had been under heavy attacks by Samira, Rengar and the Frost Archer herself, which made her reluctantly flee to her team's turret in order to preserve her health. But when she turned back and locked eyes with Ashe, Ashe's gaze held sadness, wistfulness, and maybe even sympathy for her.

Sejuani grew angrier. She hated being cared for. To her, the way to succeed was to be the strongest. The strong survived while the weak perished. Prove to be strong and everyone else would fall in line. But having others offer you sympathy proved that you needed help, it made you weak. Sejuani grit her teeth and swung her jug at Gragas. "Oi! Another round!" Gragas looked at her with disapproving eyes. "Coming up." He responded quietly. Sejuani continued to think about Ashe, which only made her angrier. The way Ashe seemed to take pity on her wasn't the only thing she was angry about.

Ever since young, Sejuani envied the life Ashe lived. she had a mother who gave a shit about her. Her mother never cared to ask how she felt about the way she treated her. It was always about getting stronger and letting the weak die. Although Sejuani had sworn to herself she wouldn't be the cruel dictator her mother was, she was eventually moulded into what her mother was.

That was another thing Sejuani envied Ashe for. Although she knew Grena to be cruel and brash in her ways, Ashe never turned out to be like her mother. She thought for the best solution for her tribe, she never left a person behind to die. She was everything Sejuani had wanted to be but couldn't. And Sejuani never wanted to admit it, mostly to herself, that she had never wanted Ashe as her sister. She had fallen for her, and she hated it.

Sejuani's rage had reached its peak. She looked at the counter impatiently. "Gragas, where the hell is my drink?!" As soon as she hollered her words, a jug came sliding to her. Gragas looked at her disdainfully and muttered something about wishing he was something else than a bartender.

Sejuani took another swig of her drink. This would be her last drink of the night before she clocked out. As she finalised her decision, a figure dressed in a familiar blue cloak took a seat beside her. She looked to see who it was, and she nearly spat her drink. Luckily, she took a forceful gulp before turning toward the person again with narrowed eyes. "Frost Archer." She growled, and Ashe turned to her and muttered her greetings in response before turning back to what was in front of her. Sejuani kept quiet as Ashe ordered her beverage, but didn't take her eyes off of her.

Ashe began to shift in her seat, albeit uncomfortably. Sejuani's anger amplified further. She was ignoring her on purpose. She slammed a hand on the counter and growled, "Look at me, you traitor." Ashe turned to her slightly and asked in reply, "Is there something you want?" She asked, tapping a finger on her mug nervously. "You know what I want, I want to kill you for betraying me on that night." Ashe turned to her. "I never meant to betray you, what you did was wrong, those people didn't deserve their homes to be burnt." Sejuani slammed a fist on the counter. "I thought you would understand my actions! I thought you were on my side, you were my fucking Battlesister!" Before Ashe could reply, a figure came behind Sejuani and put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, can you shut the fu-" Poor Yasuo ended up suffering a fist to the jaw, and he crumpled to the ground.

Gragas intervened and said, "No fighting in my bar!" But Sejuani was all riled up and was spoiling for a fight. She kicked her chair aside and grabbed Ashe by the neck part of her cloak. "I'll end your miserable existence and finally get rid of the pain you've given me." Sejuani growled as Ashe stared into her eyes with fear and concern. Before Sejuani could do any more harm, something hard hit her and she blacked out.

Ashe stared at Sejuani's crumpled form in horror before staring at the culprit. "Did you have to do that?" She asked. Darius shrugged. "Better than trying to talk with a drunk." He replied disdainfully before returning to his seat. Ashe sighed and stared at Sejuani again before looking around.

"Will anyone help carry her to her quarters?"

Sejuani woke up with a pounding headache. What hit me? She wondered, rubbing her sore head, feeling for a bruise. As she did so, she heard a familiar voice say, "You're awake." She looked up to see the person she least wanted to see at the moment. "You, what are you doing here." Sejuani growled, trying to sound as menacing as possible. Ashe gave her a wistful look. "You always had anger management problems. It was, and still is, one of your greatest flaws." Ashe chuckled, causing Sejuani to pink slightly at the sight of the Frost Archer's smile before she forced it to leave. "You didn't answer my question." She replied, causing Ashe's smile to falter for a brief moment.

"I came to check if you were alright." She said quietly. "I don't need help from a traitor." Sejuani growled before getting up from her bed, heading for the door and opening it. "So if you please, go back to your barbarian." Ashe got up as well. "Please, Sejuani, at least let me properly check if you have any injuries from your little, incident." Sejuani was seriously considering just running out of her own room. Anything to get away from this annoying yet lovable archer.

"I've already checked myself. I'm fine." She responded coldly before gesturing toward the doorway. "Now leave before I make you." Ashe took a step towards her former Battlesister. "If there's anything you should have learnt from me, sister, it is that I don't back down easily." "Don't. Call. Me. Your sister. That pact was broken ever since you betrayed me." Ashe took another step towards Sejuani, causing the latter to tense slightly. "Sejuani, this whole time I've regarded you as someone close to my heart, do you not do the same?" She asked, attempting to soften the warmother's hardened exterior.

"I have never had a place for you in my heart." Sejuani replied bitterly while her mind yelled at her for her cold words against the Frost Archer. "Even so, I would still save you in any dire situation." Ashe said, again attempting to complete her objective.

Suddenly, the door slammed shut and Ashe felt a strong force shove and pin her against a wall. Towering her was the Winter's Wrath herself. Her expression held no rage, but Ashe could tell that she was pushing her limits. She should be thankful Sejuani hadn't decided to just kill her right there and then.

"What are you trying to do, Frost Archer?" Sejuani whispered. "I just-" Sejuani cut her off. "You just want to get me to open up by saying what you would do for me. And for what, so that I'll spare you and your pathetic clan from the inevitable?" "N-no, I did this because-" Ashe was cut off by Sejunai suddenly punching the space right next to her head.

"Stop. Trying." Sejuani's voice had dropped to a dangerous whisper now. Ashe should heed her advice and just leave. "Or I will not hesitate to- mmf!" This time, Sejuani was the one cut off when Ashe wound her arms around her neck and pulled her in, soft, pale pink lips colliding with hers. Sejuani's eyes widened in surprise while Ashe's closed. Despite trying to resist at first, Sejuani's mind succumbed to what it desired the most and she melted into the kiss.

Soon, Sejuani's arms snaked around Ashe's waist, pulling her closer and deepening the kiss. Ashe's tongue had managed to enter Sejuani's mouth thanks to Ashe capturing Sejuani's lips while they were open, but Sejuani easily pushed it out and dominated the kiss, her tongue engaging in a passionate dance with Ashe's. Ashe latched onto Sejuani, her legs attempting to wrap around Sejuani's hips. Sejuani made sure Ashe's legs were interlocked around her before lifting her up and pressing her against the wall to ensure she wouldn't clumsily drop the Frost Archer.

However, every human being needed oxygen, and Ashe and Sejuani were forced to part in order to replenish their supply. As their lips parted, a thin string of saliva formed, still connecting their mouths to each other. As the two gasped for air, Sejuani came to her senses. What was she doing? Ashe was married, she couldn't do this. Hurriedly, she undid Ashe's legs around her waist and set her down. "Sejuani?" Ashe asked, a tone of concern evident in her voice as the Winter's Wrath went for the door.

"It's time for you to leave." Sejuani responded coldly, opening the door. Ashe just gave her a confused look, resulting in her grabbing the Freljordian queen and trying to gently pull her out. "But Sej-" Ashe was cut off by the door closing on her.

Sejuani sat on her bed, placing her head in her hands. What is happening to me? She asked herself in despair. She continued to just sit there, trying to figure herself out. Meanwhile, Ashe smiled to herself as she walked to her own quarters. She may not have fully won Sejuani's heart, but at least the Winter's Wrath knew what she felt for her. Someday Sejuani, Ashe thought to herself. I'll be with you one day.
