And with a long wait I finally finished this chapter, again very sorry for the delay but things have been very hectic for me lately I'm not sure when the next chapter will be released.
This chapter is based on the episode Archie's Weird Mysteries, Attack of the killer spuds, yes that is a real name of the episode, don't take it too Seriously,
One complaint I will say about Riverdale and the latest Archie horror comics is that Archie isn't the main character, he doesn't do anything other than what a side charter would do, (not that there's anything wrong with it) but he is supposed to be the main character I want him to do more, and I wish that more people would write him like he is from Archie's weird mysteries, he's a reporter, he's smart he's intelligent, he actually leads the gang, because nothing is worse than having a main character that doesn't do anything.
Ok now that's out of the way, enjoy the story.
Soon they were teleported to the spot were Dilton gotten signal from, it was a rundown old TV station, with old cars parked Infront, Dilton's was among them.
"This is his car, but where Dilton" said Archie.
"there's another new car here" said Veronica, checking inside the car's glove box "it belongs to a woman" showing the driver's licence.
"He must be in the building" said Betty who was holding her EMF "I'm getting massive readings from this place".
"What are we waiting for, let's go" said Jughead.
With Cheryl and Toni
"Ok I think this thing is working," said Toni
"What are they saying," said Cheryl
"I don't know yet set up frustrated" Tony "let's just wait"
"Sorry didn't mean to sound pushy" said Cheryl "Just feels like it's taking forever that's all"
"Wait hold on I think I've got something" said Tony "yes here it is there's something about cars let's put it on speaker"
They heard veronica's voice "what is an old TV station doing out here"
then they heard Archie's voice "I think it was for some local TV, or so I've heard but they run out of money and they didn't have much to work with so they shut down"
"let's just hope Dilton alright," said Betty
"Wait Dilton there," said Cheryl
"Well safe to say they definitely the good guys since they want to help him" add Toni
They entered the building, it was hard to get through because the doors were covered in strange roots, roots were growing everywhere
"what the hell" said Archie "what happened here," he then starred shouting for him "Dilton, Dilton are you here"
"where is he" said Betty "he couldn't come through the front doors"
"there must be an open window somewhere" said Veronica "maybe if we spilt up we can find him better"
"I'll go this way" said Jughead walking off to a room
"Jughead wait" said Sabrina "don't spilt up, we don't know what dealing with"
"she's right" said Bo "that's the first rule when dealing with something you have no clue about, you stay tougher and study it, have you leard nothing from what I told you"
Veronica saw something in the corner of her eye, down the hallway one of the doors was open, she could see that something looking like a person standing in that room.
"hey Dilton is that you" she said "guys there someone there"
They started to walk over, jughead was about to leave the room until he tripped over a root and landed face first into a wall covered in roots, he dropped his axe in the process that's when the roots started grab onto him, covering his mouth so he can't scream and pulling him away.
The others arrived at the open door, "Dilton is that you" said Archie
there was no reply so they stepped in, to their horror, it wasn't Dilton, but that was probably a good thing that it wasn't him, because it was actually a random dead man standing there with roots going through his head and his arms, legs and other parts of his rotting body.
"oh my god" said Veronica "I think I'm going to be sick"
"what happened to him" said Archie "What is this"
"It must be the roots" said Sabrina "they must be feeding off human energy"
Archie went to have closer look, Betty turn her head around "hey where's jughead" she said
As Archie turned around to look, the dead root man turns his head and grabbed Archie buy the arm.
"aahhh, help me" Archie screamed in fear
Bo got a machete out of his bag and chopped off the man hand, he then cut off the root man's head
"ah, god I didn't know it would do that" said Archie "Ew gross" said Veronica did you really have to chop off his head
"better safe than sorry" said Bo
"ok can we please find Jughead and Dilton and get out of here" said Betty
They all agreed, but as they started to leave the room, roots grew across the door, cutting Bo and Archie away from the girls.
"What the hell," said Veronica
"crap" said Sabrina "whatever this thing is, it trying separate us"
Bo was looking around for another way out, spotting the door near by "we will try and circle back to you,"
The girls could hear groans from down the hallway
"we can't stay here" said Sabrina "we have to keep moving"
"alright then" said Bo "try and find Jughead and the other kid while you're at it"
So they went their ways, Archie and Bo went throe the side door, but it just led them to more roots, while the girls went back were they last saw jughead.
"Jughead, Jughead" said Betty who then spotted his axe on the ground and picking it up "oh no, something bad must have happened to him"
"Where would he have gone," said Sabrina
Veronica turned ahead and screamed, one of those dead corpse root things was walking straight towards her, she pulled out her mini crossbow and aimed it at the thing.
"stop or I swear shoot" she warned the thing but it wouldn't listen, so she fired one hitting his neck the other one went straight into his head, it fell down dead was good this time, Veronica covered her mouth in shock "oh God that was worse than I thought"
"Veronica I know this is hard for you but we don't have time to waste" said Sabrina
Soon another one appeared however this one look exactly like the one Veronica shot, only without the clothes and more green skin
"what the hell, I just killed that thing" said Veronica
"oh no, it worse then I thought" said Sabrina
"Meaning what" said Betty
"Whatever this thing is" said Sabrina "it can make copies"
"So that means..." Veronica started
"there are way more then we thought" Betty finished
"ok lets run" said Sabrina
"what are they talking about, why do they scream so loud" said Cheryl
"Do we really want to know what they screaming about" said Toni
"probably not" said Cheryl "it would be terrifying"
"Still be nice to know what was going on though" said Toni "next time I put cameras on them"
Cheryl laughed at this "yeah we'll give them brooches and badges with secret cameras inside"
They laughed at this more until they heard more screaming
Bo and Archie we're running for their lives, avoiding roots and the zombies.
"What do we do" said Archie
"just keep moving" said Bo as he slashed a root with his machete
Bo was busy fighting off a zombie, Archie had his own problems a root had wrapped around his foot, Archie pulled out his cutlass and quickly cut it off but soon he realised a zombie was approaching him
"oh god" said Archie pointing his cutlass at it "get back"
However Archie tripped over backwards and landed on his back, the zombie was still heading towards him, archie kick the zombie in the leg and it began to fall in his direction so Archie pull up his cutlass upwards and runs the zombie right through its chest.
"oh god" said Archie, but it was no time to morn now because another one was coming around the corner, Archie tried to push the coupse off him but he was too heavy, and Bo was too busy with his zombie so Archie pulled out his revolver and shot the zombie 3 times, 2 into the chest 1 in the head.
Once the other zombie fell down dead, Archie started to get out underneath the zombie body, Bo had just killed another zombie and after woulds went to help Archie "are you ok"
Archie breathed really hard, but he was able to say "yeah just you know, just took a lot out of me"
"best get used to it kid and fast" said Bo "and it's time we run for it now"
They opened the nearest door and went inside and that's why they could hear someone nearby, it was behind a damaged wall with a massive hole in it, they pecked through, guns at ready, that's when something ran by then hid behind a nearby desk, Bo got ready to shoot but Archie stopped him.
"wait don't shoot, that's Dilton" said Archie "Dilton it's me"
Dilton came out of hiding "Archie, what are doing here and who's that"
"it's a long story, let's get you out of here"
However more zombies started to enter the room, "Dilton hide now," said Archie
Dilton didn't think twice of doing just that, as zombies came in Bo and Archie fired their guns through the hole in the wall, they got some of them but more were coming
"I'm going in there" said Archie
"are you sure kid" said Bo
"yeah I am" said Archie as started shoving himself though the hole in the wall, however the roots covered it up as soon as he got through.
"Archie, Archie can you hear me" said Bo "are you alright"
"yeah I am" said Archie, but of couse that's when more zombie arrived "spoke too soon"
Archie tried to fire off his handgun, but of course it was unloaded and Archie didn't want to get up and close with these guys, so he's got his shotgun from his magic pouch and fired.
The zombie fell down after the hit, Archie fired again hitting another one behind it, he quickly reloaded and shot the 3rd and final zombie but it wasn't quite dead yet so he had to shoot him again, Archie didn't like the fact that he wasted another shot, but now he's got to get Dilton out of here.
"Dilton, Dilton are you here"
"yeah I'm here how do you get a shotgun or here for this matter" said Dilton
"it a long story" said Archie turning back to where the hole was, he yelled out to Bo "hey I found him he's alright, we're alright"
"OK that's good then can you find a way out" said Bo
"I guess we can what can we do about these roots though" said Archie "we can't leave them here for anyone else to get them how do we kill them"
"most likely" said Dilton "they're all attached to a big brain
"what" said Archie confused
"is that him talking" said Bo "what is saying about a brain"
"Well all roots have to be connected with something, so whatever's causing all this there has to be a brain of some sort" said Dilton
"So how do we destroy it then Dilton" said Archie
"well I don't know about that" said Dilton "now can I ask why you're here or at least how you find me so quickly"
Archie sighed "ok Dilton this is going to sound insane, but me Betty, Veronica, and jughead were chosen to fight the supernatural of course when we heard that you're in danger we came straight here"
"OK then" said DIlton "why didn't you tell me sooner"
"I wanted to, I even said that you should have been one of us"
"Wait, one of you guys" said Dilton "like a monster hunter"
"well sort of, not all of them are bad" said Archie
"Are you two gonna talk all day" said Bo "or are you going to get moving"
"right sorry" said Archie "if only we could find whatever this thing is and destroy it"
"well, it should be somewhere underground right" said Dilton "I mean these are roots so it makes sense"
"ok then, now we need to find the basement" said Archie
"I think it's down the hall" said Dilton "I saw it passing by"
"Bo" Archie said to the wall "we are going to the basement, we think we have a shot of stopping whatever this thing is"
"Wait hold on I don't think we should go out by yourselves" said Bo
"We will be fine" said Archie "will just have a head start that's all look just go get the others and will meet you at the basement, where is it at dilton"
"down the hallway, to the left, its a metal door with the basement written on top"
"ok did you get that" said Archie
"yeah I heard it" Bo replied
"ok we will meet you there" Archie said turning to Dilton handing the shotgun to him "can you handle one of these"
"well yeah, I shot one once"
"really when," said Archie, but then realised the situation they were in "ugh never mind tell me later"
Bo went back the way he came, Hopely he can find the girls and Jughead in time.
Meanwhile with the girls they were having trouble with more root zombies they were fighting them off the best that they can, Betty was using jughead axe, Sabrina was using her wand and Veronica was using her revolver
"aahh," said Betty as she chopped off a zombie hand off "how long are we gonna keep on like this"
"I know. I know I'm trying to figure this out" said Sabrina
"well you better think fast" said Veronica "I don't think we can hold on much longer ...ah"
Soon Veronica was surrounded in the zombies they grabbed her, "Veronica no" shouted Betty
Betty and Sabrina couldn't do anything because they were dealing with their own zombies.
The zombies put her against a wall and let the roots take control, as roots grew around her eyes shut and she went blank, then a horrifying smile came on upon her face as she was stuck in some sort of trance
and then another root sprouted from her creating another clone of her the other two were shocked by this
"Great now I thought one Veronica wasn't bad enough," said Sabrina
"Is she alright" said Betty more concerned
"well, there's no roots spreading out of her head" said Sabrina pointing to the Veronica in the trance "so she should be fine, for the moment"
"so, she not dead yet," said Betty
"No, they must need her alive so they can drain her" said Sabrina "after a few days then she will be dead, and she will be another zombie"
"Oh god" said Betty "and let me guess that's what going to happen to us"
as more zombies pouring through the doors, Sabrina and Betty prepared to attack, Betty threw jugheads axe at one of the zombies hitting it right in the head, then she pulled out her sword and prepared for the next attack, while Sabrina was using fire spells from her wand to burn them to a crisp.
"Wait there are two veronicas now" said Cheryl
"That should be a band name" said Toni "anyway I want to know who this Bo guy is"
Then they heard gun shooting and a man's voice "looks like you'll get your chance," said Cheryl
Bo come onto the scene shooting up the zombies with his magnum, "looks I got here just in time," he says sarcastically "hey, where's Veronica"
The girls just looked back where Veronica was, still sitting there with roots covering her and an odd smile on her face.
"dear God" said Bo "what happened"
"Veronica got attacked by the zombies" said Betty "they put her next to the roots and well that happened"
As they approached her again her clone came out by the side door and stared to talk "come be one with us"
"dear God what is this" said Bo as he aimed his gun at the clone "two Veronicas"
"wait hold on don't shoot her" said Sabrina "her clone might be still connected to her"
"Then how do we save her then," said Betty
"Take off the roots on her" said Sabrina "that might do it"
Betty ran to Veronica and started cutting the roots with her dagger, Veronica's clone seemed angry "don't touch that"
Bo and Sabrina had to hold her back as Betty cuts the roots, when she cut the final one the clone veronica disappeared and the real Veronica started to wake up
"ah, what happened" said Veronica "ew, did I have throes disgusting roots on me"
"if I say yes, would that be a bad thing" said Betty
This didn't help Veronica's mode, Bo got to the point "you in a trance Ronnie, and then a clone came out from you or something like that, what happened again"
"when the roots took hold of Veronica, she went into a trans and made this weird smile and then a clone came out of the roots" said Sabrina
"Yeah I'm still not getting it" said Bo
"Wait that was a clone of me," said Veronica
"Is that's what happening to jughead," said Betty
"Most likely" said Sabrina "if only there was a way to stop the roots"
"ok, well that friend of yours" Bo said pointing to Betty and Veronica "he says that the roots are connected to some sort of brain and it would be in the basement"
"Of course, that makes sense" said Sabrina "since these are roots the brain will be located underground"
"Like mushrooms," said Betty
"OK let's go" said Bo
They turned towards the hallway to try and find the basement
Back with Archie and Dilton
"So where did you get this" said Dilton holding the shotgun in front of him
"It a very long and complicated story and do you really want to hear this now," said Archie
"well, it's that or talking about what these root things are" Dilton responded
"OK the start this off there's a secret monster hunting base in Riverdale" said Archie "under the old mansion"
"Fascinating so many things I've never knew about under our noses" said Dilton "so why exactly you and the others were chosen"
"Because um, well I'm a monster" said Archie "like literally a monster"
Dilton just stared at Archie "Like one of those things"
"no nothing like that" said Archie "my monster form is diffident; I have to drink a liquid to turn into my form"
"ok then, why" said Dilton
"honestly you should be the one testing me out not the others" said Archie
"others?"
"The witch and warlock society yes that is a real thing" said Archie, he then pulled out the chain under his shirt "but they did give me the sweet necklace"
"is that the liquid you have to drink" said Dilton as pointed at the crystal bottle,
Archie nodded his head in response "ok then, how far off now"
"just down here I think" said Dilton he pointed at the that had the word basement on top
"Archie, Dilton, your all right" they turned around to see the others, Betty who was Infront ran up and gave them both a hug "thank god you are both alright"
"so, this is Dilton" said Sabrina "hi I'm Sabrina Spellman"
"hello" said Dilton "so how are you involved in all this
"Well for starters I'm a witch" said Sabrina "and I'm the reason why friends are here today"
"And I know we haven't been properly interduce but I'm Bo" said Bo holding out his hand to shake which Dilton accept it, although when he did Dilton hand was feeling bit sore afterwards.
"Hey where's Jughead," said Archie
The others looked at each other "we couldn't find him" said Betty "and its best we don't"
"what do you mean"
"When we were trying to look for him" said Betty "Veronica got attacked by one of the root things then she went into a trance then a clone of her popped out of one of the roots"
"wait, these roots can make copies of the zombies" said Dilton "I guess that explains why there so many"
"So why can't we find jughead" said Archie
"Because it might be a possibility that the clones are still connected to the host," said Bo
"So, if we kill is clone, without cutting him loose from the roots, that means we could kill him," said Sabrina
"Oh right" Archie seemed disappointed "but we will find him afterwards right"
"of course, we will" said Veronica "we never ditch him like that"
"look I hate to even want to bring that up" said Bo "but shouldn't we get a move on"
"right, it this way" said Archie pointing at the door
As they opened the door it looked pitch black, so they had to use flashlights to see, guns at the ready, step by step they went until they saw a strange glow, something was down there.
"We need more light" said Veronica
"hold on I've got this" said Sabrina she reached into her bag pulled out a crystal whispered something and it calls the crystal to float in the air and lights up showing the rest of room
Now they so more clearly the roots were everywhere, on the walls and the roof, they were contenting into the wires of electricity, in the middle of the room it was like a big pod, something you see in plant shows, it seemed to be the cause of the roots,
"look at what it's doing" said Dilton pointing to the root entering the wires "it's probably manipulating in the sound system, making those weird signals I heard at the school"
"So that's how it gets his victims" said Archie
"wait a minute" said Betty pointing at the pod "is that a potato"
"oh my god" said Archie "she's right"
"hold on, the thing that's been trying to killing us is a giant magical potato" said Veronica "seriously who writes this stuff"
"alright enough talk let's do this" said Bo readying his pistol
Unfortunately, the roots since their presence, and more zombie clones started to form from the roots
"Of course, there's more" said Sabrina sarcastically
Betty turned her head towards the top of stair case "I think there more coming down"
"OK we need to destroy that thing any ideas" said Bo
"if we pull down those wise down, it might be able to fry the thing" said Dilton
"Sure, but we need make sure there's electricity running through them first" said Sabrina
"I can do that" said Dilton "I do it all the time at home"
"I'll keep the zombies up top at bay, whatever that means" said Betty
"ok then, who's going to pull the wires down" said Bo
"I'll do it" said Archie
"Archie" said Veronica "handling live electricity wires is dangers, what if it kills you"
"I'll be fine Ronnie," said Archie
"How you going to get up there that high up" said Veronica
Archie got the crystal bottle on his chain necklace under his shirt, then he looked at Dilton "Hey Dilton, please don't freak out ok"
"no, of course not" Dilton said in response although he was little bit nervous
Archie drank from the bottle and then he turned into the monster, the transformation becomes more quicker now, Dilton just stood there in awl
"Archie are you alright" said Dilton
Archie in his monster form nodded in response "yes I am" he also said in a strange voice nothing like usual voice
"Guys let's hurry it up" said Betty as the zombies coming down the stairs
Everyone springs into action Sabrina, Veronica and Bo started fighting the zombies in the basement while Dilton get to the fuse box to try to turn it on.
Archie on the other hand was climbing the wall (which was much easier thanks to his claws) then on the celling like a monkey, climbing his way right over on top where the big potato was sitting.
However, things were going bad fast, as Betty was slashing highway through the zombies one of them look very familiar he had the same crown hat as her dear best friend, "oh no, Jughead not now" she help her sword back preparing to swing but she couldn't bring myself to do it, "guys hurry it up, no judge had please don't make me do this"
the others were getting over run by the zombies, the more they killed the more popped out of the roots, the big potato knew when It was getting threatened as Dilton was turning on electricity, but one of the zombies grabbed him from behind, it started getting the roots on him, Dilton was fighting the urge to go limp and letting the roots control him like a puppet, he pulled down one of the switches this lets electricity flow through the wires.
As soon as they were turned on, Archie grabbed on the wires left his weight do everything else, wires broke with the electricity alive with power, it landed on the big potato, frying it up and completely baking it.
The zombies all of them stop in that tracks and then began to fall over, the roots begin to shrivelled up, turn brown and die away, the same thing happened with the zombies, they soon disappeared into nothing, when jughead's one disappeared Betty to the big deep breath.
Dilton hand was still in the switch box, was still in a weird trance, and due to the wires being broken the fuse box began to explodes with sparks, shocking him.
He then fell to the ground everyone rushed to him, "Dilton are you alright" said Archie as he was turning back to his normal form.
"He's not breathing," said Veronica
"Move, I've got this" said Sabrina, getting out some dust from her bag she blew some on him and whispered some words and then a glow happened on Dilton's body
Dilton was breathing again, he started making moaning noises,
"he's alright" said Sabrina relived that her spell worked
"Thank god for that," said Betty
"Um guys, what's happening" the others looked at the staircase, there was Jughead alive and well.
"Jughead, you're alright" said Archie as ran to his best friend and gave him a hug
"Woah, yep I'm alright" said Jughead "just confused what happened"
"You got kidnapped a big potato by its roots, and then a zombie clone popped out," said Veronica
"What?" he replied
The others just laughed at this point, until they heard someone else voice, "excuse me, but what the hell is going on"
It was the woman who owned the other car, as she was pulling dead roots from hair and clothes "what happened to me, why I'm covered in these disgusting things"
"good thing we didn't kill her clone" Veronica said to Betty
"What was that," said the woman
"Um nothing" said Betty "Sabrina can you do your thing"
"sure" Sabrina said as she cast a spell wiping her memory, the lady just stood there in a trance, "OK when she wakes up tell her lie so she would believe it"
"What should we say" said Veronica
"anything you like" Sabrina replied
Betty walked up to the woman "um, ok you were driving then you got lost, then you found this building, he went inside hit your head and you been in a coma ever since"
"Yes, that's what happened" but the woman in a trance "oh I should probably go to the hospital"
"Yes, you should do that just drive to the hospital" said Veronica "and explain everything that happened to you"
"Yes, I'll just do that" she said "I'll go to the hospital"
She then turned went back up the stairs and started heading back to her car
"that's awesome" said Dilton "when can I try mind control"
"Mind control?" said Betty "it's um, I'll tell you later"
"Yeah, this is going to be a lot of explaining to be done," said Veronica
"OK enough chit chat" said Bo "let's go"
Cheryl and Toni had just finished listening to Archie and the others
"Wow that was insane" said Toni
"I know right" said Cheryl "does that mean Dilton a part of the group"
"If that is true, I wonder who else will get in" said Toni "maybe us"
"Maybe we should get our own team" said Cheryl
"Our own team" said Toni confused "but who would want to join and why"
"I might know someone" replied Cheryl
when the gang were teleport back to Riverdale, walking back the rest of the way to their home, they were very quiet until Archie broke the silence
"hey jughead" said Archie "I know I don't want to bother you with this and I know you probably don't wanna hear this, but what happened at TV station yeah I got it now"
"Get what now" said Jughead
"Taking a life" said Archie "when you do it like a part of you disappears"
"Yeah, definitely not like in the movies" said Veronica "have those guys do it without crushing their soul"
"Probably by doing it over and over again" said Jughead grimly
"let's not talk like that jughead right now," said Betty
"But it's true isn't it" he responded
"Maybe It is and maybe it isn't" said Archie "how to do this again but one thing is for sure is that we are doing together"
he then put his arm around and said 'together' the others put their arms out to you but it handles other hands it also said together and they raised their hands in the air it made them all smile and laugh a little bit, then they said goodnight and they went their separate ways back home.
