Be My Valentine!
Part XVII: Something More
Purpledolpin05: Well, guess it's February again, the time of the year where I update this one-shot series. This one is focusing on Bob and Jenny, one of my favorite KTPs, although it's considered Teen ships now since Jenny is turning 13 and Bob is 15 in my AUs (17 if we follow the Elite Force timeline, but I detest the 'cannon' version, because Jenny and Bob would have had an Adam/Sakura age gap). But back to review shout outs:
To The Dreamer With A Passion: Thanks for the review, Jones curses a lot. That's a given fact. Hope you will like this chapter.
To TKDP: Thanks for the review. Scarion for life! I'm still unsure who Mal's father is, but I don't really think it's Hades (Persephone will be angry at her husband if that happens, she's already turned Hades's ex, Minthe into a mint plant. Yeah I ship Hades/Persephone so it will affect what I think of Hades/Maleficent.) I hope you will like this Bob/Jenny chapter.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters from Disney, or my friends' OCs, I only own this story and my OCs. Enjoy.
Year: 2019
"Is the camera rolling?" Evie asked as Carlos checked the camera and nodded, before he rushed over.
"Hello fellow readers, welcome to the third year of the Be My Valentine! segment series, thanks to everyone who tuned in over the past few years. I am Tracy." Tracy waved at the camera.
"I'm Evie Queen, and this is my partner Carlos De Ville." Evie winked at Carlos who blushed.
"Ugh, this is one of my least favorite days of the year." Jones gagged, before Tracy giggled at her brother's statement.
"My name is Lou, your fellow Woodchuck!" Lou saluted at the camera.
"And my name is Jay. I'm Tracy's boyfriend." Jay smiled at the camera as he wrapped an arm around Tracy.
"No, we're not." Tracy snarled as Jay smirked at her, causing her to blush faintly.
"Like I said. I hate being the single guy who has to live with these lovebirds." Jones turned to the camera before he spoke in a quiet tone. He identifies himself to be asexual, or demiromantic asexual at most.
"Ok, so who are we spying on this year?" Evie asked, squealing a bit.
"I sincerely regretted letting Evie and Keely Teslow from 'Phil of the Future' spend time at the Yule Gala last year." The authoress shook her head. Maybe Keely (from Phil of the Future) affected Evie's behavior of 'assisting' people to get together. While Carlos and Phil Diffy have to deal with their crushes/girlfriends meddling attitude. Carlos was more tolerant towards the meddling, while Phil was hesitant and sometimes reluctant to give in.
"It's Phil, Phil of the future~ He's a twenty-second century man!" Tracy started to relive her earliest childhood memories of watching Disney shows before she started to sing along.
"It wasn't that bad. Remember when Keely, Lou and I tried to matchmake that one couple a few months back with the help of our new protégé Destiny (from Bunk'd)?" Evie reminded.
Random Flashback…
"I'LL NEVER LOVE AGAIN!" one woman, Barnabia, was sobbing hysterically as Evie, Keely (now an adult), and Lou comforted the girl as they watched a police car driving the girl's soon-to-be ex-fiancé away to jail.
Apparently, the girls accidentally got the boyfriend jailed for believing he stole an expensive ring (which was Emma's family ring whom she lost by accident) and decided to call the cops (because Lou needed to back Emma up)
"It's ok. Let it out…" Destiny Baker offered a tissue. "If it helps, he was a dirtbag anyway."
Cues more hysterical crying from the lady.
Flashback ended
"Ever since then, Barnabia became a nun and joined the convent." Jones raised his eyebrows at the girls.
"Don't look at me, I was out of the meddling job, because I was busy with school." Tracy shrugged.
"Ok, who are we snooping on today?" Lou asked.
"Let me check the envelop. Drumroll please?" Evie smiled, as Carlos started drumming the table.
"Jenny and Bob!" Evie announced.
"I knew it! They are endgame!" Lou grinned.
"They're too young." Tracy commented.
"Sis, Jenny is turning 13 by autumn, and Bob is already hitting growth spurt. Heck, even Spin is already hitting puberty and his new look puts Jamie and other young girls in a lovesick mode." Jones replied. "Face it, sis, your midlife crisis days are near."
"Who gets midlife crisis at 21?" Lou questioned, both her and Tracy are of the same age.
"Anyway, are we ready to play the clips?" Carlos cleared his throat.
"Sure, whatever. I just remembered I need to go for a Prank class." Jones decided to excuse himself.
"But you can't just leave me here!" Tracy protested as she glanced at Jay winking at her.
~ Bob Banks x Genevie 'Jenny' Yao (daughter of Yao and Princess Mei) ~
Bob glances over at his longtime crush, Bree from a distance. It's not like she would like him back, he was much younger than she was, and she is already in a relationship with someone else. He would admit that Bree was his first crush and found her to be the prettiest girl he ever saw when he laid eyes on her back when he was just an 11-year-old boy.
He's not a kid anymore, he's 15 now, and according to his friends, puberty hit Bob like a bus. He was starting to look like his big brother Albert when he was a teenager.
Bob had started (or trying) dating other girls closer to his age so he can forget about his crush on Bree. Clearly feelings don't fade away that easily.
"Hey Bobby Burger." Someone tapped on his shoulder, before he looked over and find his friend Jenny. She had just finished her tuition class (and listening to her tutor, Jessie ranting about her ex-boyfriends) and walked out of the tuition class and saw Bob sitting on a bench outside.
"Hey Jenny-Jelly." Bob gave Jenny a smile.
"What happened?" Bob asked, worried of his longtime friend.
"Well, I guess since today is Valentines' Day, and Spin and Jamie will be joining Jones, Cyd and her mentor Pim Diffy for a 'Prank-Fest'. I guess I just feel kind of left out." Jenny took a seat next to Bob.
"Is this about Daniel again?" Bob asked in a teasing tone.
"Well, can you blame me for crushing on him? He's cute, friendly and he's got the prettiest eyes." Jenny sighed to herself.
"I know how you feel." Bob nodded.
"You like Daniel too?" Jenny raised her eyebrows at him. She never pegged him to be in love with Daniel Davenport as much as she was in 'crush' with the older teen.
"No, I like Bree." Bob snorted.
"Oh yeah, remember back when we were younger, and you like Bree and I like Daniel, and we used to joke about having double weddings in the future. Me with Daniel, you with Bree?" Jenny smiled in reminisce of their preteen years, daydreaming about marrying their crushes when they're older.
"Looks like we'll be left out then. It's pretty clear to me that Daniel is very happy with Harley. I mean, Harley is a great friend too, so I am happy for both of them." Jenny nodded.
"Seems so. Bree is happy with Sebastian, and I know I should be happy for her too." Bob smiled a little.
"Ugh, this is super boring." Jenny broke into a chuckle after a few seconds, before placing down a book she was reading aside.
"You mean Valentines' Day or your book?" Bob asked her.
"Oh no, the book is fantastic. It's Valentines' Day that is boring." Jenny replied with a sassy tone.
"I agree, I am usually all about the flirting, but on this particular day, us single people are usually left out." Bob nodded.
The two teens were interrupted by Pim Diffy (Jones's and Cyd's mentor) showing some of her students how to either prank or get a date.
"Ok, let me show you how to get a date. First, you give him the leg." Pim stretched out a leg to trip a man who was walking over.
"Now that he's fallen for you, you sweet-talk him." Pim explained to her students before yelling at the man. "Hey, you. Freckles. Pick me up for a date tonight!"
"I am learning SO MUCH from you!" Spark smiled at her mentor, finally someone who was as aggressive in the love department as her!
"No way! I would never go out with you!" the man frowned at Pim before he quickly scurried away.
"The results may vary." Pim shortened the class segment.
"That was AWESOME!" Bret and Chet cheered, before Chet marched over to Jenny.
Jenny was aware that Bret and Chet had developed a crush on her for a while now, she likes them both as friends but she finds their crush on her slightly creepy sometimes.
"Hello Jenny~" Chet winked at Jenny.
Bob clenched his fists, for some reason, having other guys (even his friends) flirting with his friend always made Bob incredibly angry or upset for some reason.
"Not interested, Bret." Jenny rolled her eyes.
"I'm Chet." Chet frowned.
"and I'm Bret!" Bret corrected.
"Fine. But call me." Chet mouthed as he went back to follow Pim, Cyd and Jones prank other obnoxious lovebirds.
"Wow, they both really like you." Bob teased.
"Shut it, Bobby!" Jenny snarled, elbowing his shoulder.
"Kinda weird, isn't it. We're all growing up so fast. I mean I am in 9th grade, and you're in 7th." Bob commented.
"Hey, tell you what. Since neither of us have dates, wanna hang out? You and me?" Bob offered.
"You mean as friends?" Jenny asked, before keeping her book into her sling-bag.
"Sure." Bob nodded as Jenny agreed.
"Wanna go for a ride? I swear, I am much better at this now." Bob asked, offering Jenny a helmet.
Lately, his older brother Albert taught Bob how to go for motocross racing, because it was clear nobody trusts Bob on driving an actual car yet.
"Isn't that what you said before you crashed a unicycle into the water fountain?" Jenny raised an eyebrow.
"Hey, I was 10!" Bob defended himself. "Are you gonna keep reminding me about that incident?"
"Yup, for as long as I live." Jenny smirked.
"Ok, fine." Jenny shrugged, before accepting his offer, before sitting behind him.
"I hope you don't accidentally shove me out of the bike." Jenny commented.
"Have some faith in me, ok?!" Bob frowned at his friend, but blushed a bit when he felt Jenny's hands around his waist.
A while later…
Bob and Jenny found themselves walking about a park, because it was a better place to be than the mall with all the couples.
"Nice place." Jenny nodded in approval.
"I wonder why there are no couples here." Bob asked.
"GET BACK HERE, YOU COWARD!"
"I AM NOT A COWARD, I AM A STRATEGIC WARRIOR!"
They saw Jordan Hook and Jones sparring, with Spark and Cyd cheering them on.
Apparently, they rented the park to use for a sparring session.
"Now I can see why." Jenny blinked as they watched Jordan throwing spiked nunchakus at Jones.
"Taste my fury!" Jones announced as he fired some arrows at the young Hook's direction.
"GO JONES!" Bret and Chet cheered.
"GO JORDAN! YOU GO GIRL!" Spark whooped loudly.
"Wanna keep walking to prevent ourselves getting shoot?" Jenny asked.
"You just read my mind." Bob nodded, before they both scurried away.
They both started to talk, about school, life, how their friends are lately. Until Jenny started talking about how fast they were growing up.
"Yup, what seems rather unfair to me is that all three of you guys: You, Jamie and Spin, are now so good-looking ever since you all hit puberty!" Jenny groaned.
"Oh come on, don't sell yourself short. I mean, you used to be kind of cute when we were kids. But now, you've grown into a pretty girl!" Bob told his friend.
"You think I'm pretty?" Jenny asked, slightly surprised.
"Yeah! You've always been pretty!" Bob nodded, before regretting his words. "I mean that as a friend!"
"Thanks, I guess. And as a friend, I think you're quite good-looking when you're not being a bumbling flirt." Jenny complimented back.
Usually, they are polar opposites. Bob was the Brawn while Jenny was the Brains. But they are both slow at learning in school, so they often meet up at tuitions. Usually they would only get along on rare occasions, such as teasing Jamie and Spin that they are both meant to be.
"I will take that as a compliment." Bob shrugged. He took a glance at Jenny.
She has definitely changed over the years. She has grown into a pretty girl; her short hair was messily chopped into a bob (huh the irony!) and Bob would be lying if he says he does not think Jenny has one of the prettiest big brown eyes he's ever seen on a person.
Weird, why was his heart fluttering inside him? She's been his friend all his life. What was with that?
Jenny looked over at Bob, before observing how much he's changed now that he is older. His hair is still blonde and looks shiny under the sunlight. He was taller now, and slightly bulky (because he has been exercising more now that he was on the Tourney team), and not to mention, Jenny always found Bob to have pretty blue eyes.
Weird, why did her heart race at the thought? Ugh, gross. They were friends for ages, this is nothing, right?
"So, we were making Valentines in class the other day." Jenny began, before taking out a card. "Here's one for you, Bob."
"Really? Thanks!" Bob grinned, before he hugged his friend.
"Too tight, personal space!" Jenny hissed, pushing herself away. She has been recently give The Talk by the older girls (Evie, Tracy and Lou) about personal space.
"Sorry." Bob apologized, before reaching for his pocket. "I got this for you. It's a hairclip. I thought you might like it."
"Cool! Thank you!" Jenny grinned, before pinning the hairclip up her bangs. It was a pretty powder pink hairclip with a cute bunny.
The two smiled at each other, before they tried to ignore the new fluttering feeling of their hearts.
"I remember, the night you said 'Let's go for a ride', I didn't want the night to end.
Would be we more than friends?
Yet little did I know before, we would be something more…"
-'Something More' by Aly and AJ-
~Clips Ended~
"Wow, they are so cute together. Even though it's still too early for them." Evie grinned.
"Stop smiling, you're reminding me of Little Suzie from Phineas and Ferb." Jay commented, as Evie punched Jay's shoulder.
Tracy laughed in amusement at Jay being hissed at,
"I think it's so cute how they're starting to feel something for each other." Carlos nodded.
"I won the bet." Lou announced, "I told you Bob would ask Jenny out! PAY UP!"
"What?" Tracy paused, before watching Evie, Carlos, and Jay forking up 10 dollars from their wallets and paying Lou.
"We made a bet of who is asking who out first." Carlos explained.
"Ok, normally I am against you people shipping my kids together. But I ship Bonny too." Tracy giggled.
"Wanna fork up some cash?" Jay asked.
"Nope. I wasn't involved in the bet pool. I'm staying out!" Tracy declared.
"Who are we snooping next?" Lou asked, clearly happy that she won some money over their Shippings Gambit (as Jones calls it).
"Ok, let me see…" Carlos checked on an envelope the authoress handed over.
"Jordan and Kaz."
"Wait, isn't he dating Maya?" Evie asked.
"Poly-relationship, anyone?" Jay joked.
"I mean, come one, we have a Love Pentagon, which consist of Kaz and the four girls shipped with him in a violent-romantic way: Jordan, Spark, Cyd and Maya." Jay claimed.
"I'm guessing this is off-screen, since Jordan may have feelings for Kaz." Carlos suggested.
"But this is weird, considering Timeline told me Jones and Cyd would end up being parents to Tyson." Evie stated.
"WHAT?!" Tracy yelled, before she went to grab a bazooka from her bag. "TIMELINE, TIME TO EXPLAIN!"
"I need to go and check on her, to prevent her from destroying anyone." Jay offered to check. But everyone knew it was an excuse for Jay to try and kiss Tracy and get rejected. Hey, he likes to play the long game with Tracy.
"Oh, the irony." Lou giggled.
"Gotta jet. Call me?" Timeline paused his conversation with Principal Powers (over school stuff) before he ran off to avoid being pummeled to death by a kid.
"It is so frustrating how when two people are meant to be together, but are too clueless to do anything about it!" Evie crossed her arms, looking at the screen where Bob and Jenny were chatting earlier.
"I know, right. it stinks!" Carlos agreed.
"Seriously?" Lou watched between Carlos and Evie before she sighed. Those two are so clueless about their feelings for each other.
Wow, looks like I am early this round. Bonny is one of my favorite ships, and here we see some developments of Bob's character growing up. Jenny is starting to like the mature but still shows his kid side once in a while version of Bob.
Chapter Talk: -
1 I bought in some characters from Phil of the Future (2004-2006, yes, I was in preschool when I watched the show). Pim Diffy would be one of the people who inspires Cyd and Jones to prank. Or teach Spark how to flirt aggressively. Keely Teslow could be a potential backup host for Be My Valentine, since she loves to meddle in other's love life. So, I felt like adding in some flashbacks of Evie, Lou and Keely's matchmaking mishaps.
2 Bob is slowly starting to move on from his crush on Bree, and Jenny is doing the same for Daniel. So that gives them personal growth for themselves. Bob starts focusing on himself and tries dating other girls (personal headcannons) and Jenny is focusing more on her friendships and her studies than focusing on which guy she wants to date. Of course, Jenny is still 13 and Bob is 15, so they won't fall madly in love overnight. Love takes time to grow and develop. [Sakura: is that why it took me and AD over 6 years until we dated?]
Also, in late 2018, marks the official date Adam and Sakura (now a young adult) official start going out as a couple. But they are still Adura-ble and awkwardly friendly to each other.
Next couple: Jordan/Kaz
Anyway, that is all for now. Thanks for reading, feel free to tell me what you think. Have a nice day.
