Nobody moves, for a moment the world stands still. Harvey puts his hand on his stomach and when he looks at it all he sees is blood.
"oh my god, Harvey..." says Donna who sees the blood rushing off his stomach.
Harvey falls backwards as his legs give out. Mike gets to him in a flash and catches him before he hits the ground with full force. He slowly leads him to the ground and carefully lays him down.
"Hold on Harvey, you need to hold on." He then takes off his jacket and wants to put it under Harvey's head to make him more comfortable, but quickly realizes that he has nothing else to stop the bleeding.
"Shit" he curses. "We need an ambulance" screams Mike.
"Huntley please, let them help him" he looks up at Huntley who still has the gun in his hand.
"I suggest you shut up and leave him or you'll be the same in a few seconds"
"No, no I have to put pressure on the wounds"
"I don't care what you need to do, get away from him"
"Mike..." Harvey says gasping for air "do what he says"
"ssshh, hey I won't do that, then he should shoot. But then he'll either be dead himself in seconds or have to give up."
"You son of a bitch" screams Huntley
"Harvey" calls Donna and tries to get to him but Stephen stops her. "Don't touch me" Donna snaps at him "Harvey!" she screams in her tired voice.
"Hold on, buddy. You need to hold on," says Mike while petting Harvey's forehead and hair, trying as best he can to hold the stomach wound together. But there is so much blood that Mike is afraid of losing consciousness himself.
"What the hell did you think? Why did you do that?"
" should I have watched him shoot you?" Harvey asks taking short breaths
"isn't it exactly what you told Donna?: Mike shoots back
"That's different… she's different. This whole think is my fault"
"The hell it is, I found it out, I told you. If I had…"
"you were doing your job" says Harvey
"so were you"
"Mike...listen..." Harvey gasps. "NO Harvey, don't talk. You need to stay calm, you need your strength" "Please Mike..." Harvey coughs and blood comes out of his mouth. Mike picks him up a bit with his free hand so that the blood runs out. But he can't turn him to the side, otherwise he won't be able to hold the wound well. He can only hope that the blood which is coming out of his mouths doesn't get worse. „Mike…" Harvey raises his hand slightly so that Mike takes it in his and squeezes it. Mike listens. "You need .. to take care of your family and Do... Donna" Harvey gasps one more time for air which Is getting harder with every second.
"I will, but on Donna you'll have to do it yourself"
"Mike please, promise me. I need to know... she'll be okay" He looks at him with pleading eyes
Mike nods "If I have to, I'll do whatever it takes to make sure she's fine. She'll be ok, I promise!, but you need also to promise me to fight, so you can do it yourself"
Harvey closes his eyes unable to keep them longer open.
"No, no, no, no, no, hey. You can't do that, Harvey stay with me." He slaps Harvey's cheek lightly so that he opens his eyes again. "Just a moment Mike"
"NO, you can do that later! Huntley please, let them in. Take me so you can make sure they do not get you." Mike pleads
"You have no idea how much I am enjoying this" he says laughing, which infuriates Mike even more.
"I'm so tired Miked" Mike squeezes Harvey's hand slightly.
"I know, I know that buddy, but you need to hold on a little longer. Harvey, we need you. You don't get to do this. Don't you dare! Donna needs you. Lucy needs you" She loves you... sometimes I feel like she loves you more than me, her own father" says Mike with a smile.
Harvey smiles too, it's barely visible, but Mike notices "I love her, too." Harvey coughs again but there is no blood coming out, not more than the last minutes. He closes his eyes "Harvey hey" Mike shakes him slightly. "How's Donna?" asks Harvey trying to look at her.
Mike looks up at Donna, who is still being held by Huntley. "I'm fine Harvey, don't worry, just focus on yourself ." Donna couldn't hear Harvey's whisper but him looking at her tells her everything and she knows what he wants to know.
"Good" Harvey says. He looks one last time at Mike and says "Thank you, Mike for everything. Just so you know, I would do it all over again." He says looking at Mike with his tired eyes "Me too" says Mike as tears run down his cheeks. Then Harvey closes his eyes.
"No, no, no, no, Harvey, Harvey stay awake, com on buddy, you need to stay with me. We need you, I… I need you" but Harvey doesn't move an inch. His eyes are closed and he releases his hand from Mike's, which he was holding.
"Harvey" Mike screams in desperation. Donna is so shocked she can't get a word out. She just stares at Harvey. She can hardly breathe, 'Harvey is dead, omg Harvey is dead.' She then suddenly bends over and throws up. Huntley, who doesn't seem to expect this, pushes her away, causing his gun to fall to the ground. Mike, who sees everything, reacts at lightning speed. He runs to the door and opens it faster than he thought it'd be possible. Huntley grabs his gun and wants to shoot, but the police are quicker and he falls to the ground.
"We need help here. There are three injured," shouts a police officer.
First paramedics rush to Harvey, who everyone assumes is already dead. The others take care of Huntely and Donna.
"He is alive" says one paramedic. "His pulse is very weak and you can hardly feel it, but it's there."
Mike closes his eyes in relief"
"Mike" screams a voice and throws themself at him. It's Rachel who hasn't been able to stop her tears. "Hey, Hey look at me" Mike takes her face in his hands. "I am allright, I am okay" he says reassuringly and kisses her.
Rachel turns then to Donna who is being treated. "Omg Donna, I am so glad you are alive" she cries. Donna says nothing, she's just crying and trying to get rid of the first responders to go to Harvey who is being carried out of the file room as he needs emergency surgery as soon as possible.
"I need to go with him" says Donna but she is stopped. "No, we have to clean the wound well and close it so we don't take any risks. "I don't care" she screams.
"Donna, I will go okay, he is not alone" says Mike and storms out of the room.
The paramedics don't want to let him at first, but then he's allowed to go with them.
In the ambulance Mike's praying to everyone and everything for Harvey to be okay again. He now is also unable to stop his tears, he's so afraid. Afraid to loose again someone he cares about that much, some he loves.
Mike's thoughts and praying is stopped abruptly as Harvey's heart stops beating…
