Part XVIV: My Love, My Life
Purpledolpin05: Time for another couple one-shot, this one is going to be centering Rodissiuss and his wife/soulmate Rina. So this ought to be interesting to read of since I consider Rona (Rodissiuss/Rina) to be one of the bittersweet favorite ships (along with Phil/Keely since they never got together in the end I still feel bitter about it, but I like to think that they get their happy ending). Moving on, Rina, would you mind doing the disclaimer?
Rina: Sure. Purpledolpin05 doesn't own Disney, any of the characters, or the OCs that belong to her friend. She only owns her OCs, so enjoy.
"3, 2, 1! Action!" the Authoress counted, before the camera started rolling.
"Good day, everybody. I'm your host, Jones." Jones waved at the camera.
"Glad to have you back, Jones." Tracy ruffled her brother's hair as she smiled.
"I'm Jay, that girl there is my future wife Tracy." Jay pointed at Tracy having a banter with Jones.
"Jay, you have never even actually dated her. It's getting delusional. Like Chad's chances with Audrey." Carlos commented.
"Well, at least Jay has a chance with Tracy before Chad does with getting back with Audrey." Evie shrugged.
"And I am Lou, your fellow Woodchuck." Lou gave a friendly smile.
"C'mon, are we gonna spy on the ships or not?!" a tiny voice chirped, the camera moves down and we see Doy (short for Dewey) holding hands with January, his little friend.
"Why are they here?" Carlos asked.
"We're the interns." Doy replied.
"Aren't you two too young to be interns?" Jay asked.
"Yes, yes we are." January grinned.
"You're lucky I love you as much as Feisty loves you kids." Jay was hesitant but agreed.
"Aww," Tracy giggled, watching Jay interacting with the tweens/kids.
"So you're into strong but sensitive guys?" Evie asked, elbowing Tracy.
"Hey, nothing is wrong with being in touch with your emotional side." Tracy shrugged.
"Yeah, Carlos is easily emotional. I'm surprised you didn't like him in that way." Jones added.
"I refuse to date younger men." Tracy replied.
"Then what kind of boy do you like?" Doy asked, using his cute charms.
"I'm more or less attracted to guys with tanned skin, dark eyes, cute smile, amazing hair…He has to be great with kids, like a fatherly or big brother figure." Tracy started listing out, starting to blush as she twirled with a bit of her hair.
"Jay." Evie nodded.
"What?" Tracy paused.
"You want Jay." Carlos grinned like a Cheshire cat.
"Or Roman." Jones pointed out.
"Thank Hades." Jay sighed in relief that he seemed to fit in his crush's requirements.
"Well, not exactly. Remember the time she had a huge crush on Milton back in 9th grade?" Lou reminded.
"WHO THE-?" Jay roared.
"Language!" Evie, Lou, Tracy and Carlos reminded. Jones started honking a bicycle horn behind Jay to not let the younger children from hearing what Jay was about to yell.
"IS MILTON?!" Jay demanded, his eyes were twitching.
"So I'm guessing me and Janoy will be hosting today's show while our other friends are still chatting?" Doy whispered over to the authoress.
"Sure. Chatting. Let's go with that." the authoress nodded, handing January a note.
"Today's kopal (couple) is…Rod and Rina." January announced.
"So cute." Doy giggled.
"At least she's reading and speaking better now." Lou pointed out, she had snuck away from Carlos, Evie and Jones preventing Jay from rampaging to find this 'Milton' guy Tracy used to like.
"Wait, where's Cece?" Doy asked.
"Carlos locked her and Jay inside the planetarium." Lou replied.
"Let's see what's gonna happen with Rod and Rina!" January grinned, waving at the camera. "Hi grampa Rod!"
"So I can't call Rodissiuss 'Rod' while January can?" Oliver asked the authoress from behind the Rec Room.
"She's my granddaughter. She can call me anything she wants. JUST MARRY HER ALREADY, ROMAN!" Rodissiuss laughed, turning to Roman.
"CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING?!" Roman got defensive.
"Wait, the camera isn't showing anything to look at." Doy noticed.
"Oh right. I forgot. Bring out your grandpa Rodissiuss. I forgot this is a rather different Couples Session." The authoress walked into the Artifact room and bought out a 'book' carved out of stone.
Because the authoress has NO idea how to revive the unliving, Hades wasn't letting any ghouls loose for the time being until Lunar July or Halloween.
"This is the Stone of Truth, it shows memories of the person who touches it." The authoress explained, handing the Stone of Truth to Rodissiuss.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt." Rodissiuss thought for a moment, before nodding. It took a while for Riker to convince his dad to be on today's episode, but all January needed to do is ask once and got an immediate reply.
~ Couple: Rodissiuss Andrews x Rina Kwon (OC) ~
Year: 1991
Rodissiuss Andrews (30 years old), a famous superhero and nicknamed 'The New Captain Atomic', couldn't believe it when he managed to meet the most wonderful woman ever. He never imagined he would meet the love of his life; let alone, the fact she could love him back amazes him the most.
He had a rough childhood: he came from an old-money Superhuman family. His father was one of the most successful entrepreneurs of the Superhuman world, his mother came from a wine-making family from Japan. Despite looking like he had it all, Rodissiuss knew his family was far from perfect or a happy family.
His father, Robert, was known as a serial womanizer and wasn't fully into commiting himself into a relationship. Their parents met through an arrangement marriage by their families. His mother's family had a dark secret, and that would be the Kato family were also one of the most influential black mafias to both the Superhuman and Normo world. Sadako (his mother) is a strict tiger mom and would punish her son if he does not succeed. She knew that her husband was always seeing other women outside, but never hesitated to sabotage, even kill, his mistresses.
So yeah, Rodissiuss came from a seeming perfect but extremely abusive family. But that never stopped him from trying to be a better person his parents couldn't be.
He heard a door knock, before his best man and his best friend, Frank Chimokuri walked in.
"Hey Rodi. It is almost time for your wedding. You don't wanna keep your bride waiting." Frank commented.
"I know. It's just…I was hoping they'd show." Rodissiuss gave a weak smile. "I sent them the wedding invitations and all..."
His parents disapproved of him falling in love and marrying a half-Normo. Despite being half-Super, having Normo blood is considered "Filth" and "disgusting" by his old-fashioned mother. His father has more Normo mistresses than his mother could count.
When Rodissiuss announced his engagement to Rina, his mother was more than outraged and demanded him to marry one of the Super families' daughters instead. It wasn't easy, but for Rina, it was worth it.
"Wait, I see two people walking over." Rodissiuss turned to leave, when his friend stopped him.
Could it be his parents?
"Hello Rodissiuss, I haven't seen you in months." An elderly man greeted him, Rodissiuss felt his heart sank a bit.
"Uncle Rory." Rodissiuss went to hug the elder couple.
"Aunt Maurine." Rodissiuss smiled at a woman with red hair.
Rory Jameson was his old butler back at the Andrews family, while Maurine was one of the housekeepers but babysat Rodissiuss when he was a boy. Maurine was extremely motherly and caring, so Rodissiuss had always thought of her as a second-mother.
"Congratulations on getting married." Maurine smiled over.
"Thanks. Are my parents gonna be here?" Rodissiuss asked with a hopeful tone.
Maurine and Rory looked at each other, before sighing.
"Madam is busy with a conference today with another winery. While Mr. Andrews is on a business trip." Rory explained.
[Translation: Your mom is home drunk and sober or destroying household properties; your dad is out on a 'business trip' with another mistress of his that is probably half the older man's age]
"Figures. They always miss out." Rodissiuss sighed, even on the happiest day of his life, his parents still wouldn't show.
"Dude! Why are you still here?!" a young Asian-Latino burst through the doors of the small beach villa. "The wedding begins in 15 minutes, and if you aren't gonna marry Rina, then I will!"
"Who is this young lady?" Maurine asked.
"This is Rina's friend, Aries. They are like sisters." Rodissiuss explained to the couple.
"It's ok Ari. He's just waiting for his folks to show." Frank explained.
The young lady happens to be the maid of honor, Aries Nigel. Rodissiuss knew her as Rina's 'sister' as they both grew up in the same small town up until Aries moved away.
"Alright. But just so you know, your Uncle Ambrose is already out there and he looks pastier than normal" Aries pointed out.
Ambrose was the closest thing Rodissiuss had to a constant fatherly figure, and they had to lie to their Normo guests that Ambrose was Rodissiuss's distant uncle.
"Yeah, you better hurry. I think your father-in-law and that man Boris Diaz are gonna start wrestling arms before the reception." Haruto, one of Rodissiuss and Frank's friend from university, pointed out.
"Sweet! Elderly wrestling!" Aries grinned.
"Seriously?" Rodissiuss and Frank frowned.
"Hey, back at the Old Folks' Home I used to volunteer, most elderlies there are just quiet, or keep pestering about when their kids are visiting." Aries snorted in response.
"Rodissiuss, Frank! One of the younger guests, Glenn Crushman (The Crusher) just challenged one of the other guests, Seth Sheldon (Silver Sheild) to an arm-wrestling contest." Frank's date, Doris popped her head in.
"Seriously? Glenn could have challenged me!" Aries rolled up her sleeves, ignoring the fact she was supposed to be a picture of elegance and grace. "Coming through!"
"Seriously? On my best pal's wedding?!" Frank groaned, following Doris and Aries to prevent further damages.
"I cannot believe you're gonna get married." Maurine smiled, tearing up.
"I cannot believe you managed to convince some of the guests here that there are no Supers present." Rory Jameson nodded.
"I had to. For the sake of our identity, and to protect some of the guests for their own good." Rodissiuss shrugged.
"Pst! Hurry up. The wedding is about to begin. I finally got the crowd to settle down." Frank poked a head out of the door, before he and his date Doris offered to escort Maurine and Rory to their seats.
"So, when are you getting married?" Rodissiuss teased his best friend.
"Oh haha. You know I just broke up with Janet last month." Frank frowned over. He briefly dated his college girlfriend Janet Smythe for a few years until they broke up. She was always demanding and controlling, and to be honest, Rodissiuss found Janet to be very clingy towards Frank, obsessed even.
"We know. We threw a huge disco party the night you two broke up." Haruto chimed in, before Aries burst out laughing.
"You said it, Toto!" Rodissiuss offered a hi-5.
"Now you can go out with Doris." Haruto grinned.
"What? No! She's amazing, but we're friends." Frank denied, blushing slightly.
"Yeah, she's one of my friends, and she's super awesome." Aries nodded, as she warned, "So if you break her heart, I can rearrange your ribcage."
"Ari! We have to go and pick up the bride!" one of the bridesmaids, Clarine Kelly (dating Haruto Leighton) hissed over.
"Oh right." Aries nodded, before saluting at Frank, Haruto and Rodissiuss, "Catch y'all on the other side of the aisle!"
"Ready to get married?" Frank asked Rodissiuss.
"I've been waiting for this moment my entire life." Rodissiuss nodded, before he stepped out of the beach villa and outside lies the wedding ceremony, with Ambrose filling as the wedding officiant.
Meanwhile…
Rina Kwon was waiting inside her room. Today will be the day she gets married to Rodissiuss. She has been in love with him when he first rescued her from a fire in her orphanage for both Normos and Supers many years ago.
Little did she know that she might meet him again as an adult and became friends with him. He was so much different than she expected. In the media, they always make him seem like any other stereotypical superhero: famous, egotistical, prideful.
She heard a gentle knock on the door.
"Hey." Her father, Gao Min-Jun (or just known as Dr. Gao) walked in.
"Dad." Rina smiled at her father.
"You look beautiful." Gao smiled over, hugging his daughter. He just found out he had a daughter and met her a few months before. He dated Aiko (Rina's mom) but left for college when he was younger, so he never knew or heard from her again.
"Thank you." Rina nodded.
"I think your mom would have been proud. You look so much like her." Gao added.
"I miss her…" Rina mumbled out.
"Me too…" Gao sighed, before offering an arm. "Are you ready?"
Rina took a deep breath, before she accepted her father's arm. "Yes."
"Rins! Uncle Gao." Aries rushed in. "the wedding is starting and if we don't get this over with. Rod's Great-Uncle Ambrose is gonna yell a lot of colorful words at that Boris Diaz guy for eating all the breadsticks. Which is ironic since he is a comic artist."
"Easy there, Ari." Rina giggled. "You look lovely."
"Not as lovely as you." Aries grinned cheekily, before adding, "You do know your 'baby sis' here is always a call away if you need some quality Sister Time."
"This is odd, I don't remember having another daughter." Gao looked at Aries. "Are you one of my kids I never knew about?"
"Heck no. at least, I hope not. I am adopted." Aries replied defensively.
"Anyway, here is your bouquet." Doris added, giving Rina a bouquet of flowers.
"One more thing." Gao carefully covered Rina's face with the veil. "Now you look like a bride!"
Outside…
Rodissiuss stood by the other side of the aisle, waiting for his bride to show up.
After a few seconds, the pianist started to play to Here Comes the Bride, all the guests stood up and await the arrival of the bride.
One of the flower girls, Bernice (an 8-year-old shapeshifter) hummed along as she skipped down the aisle, throwing flowers. The taller boy around the same age beside her, Greg Damien (The Great Defender), blushed a bit when she gave him a smile.
Rodissiuss could have sworn he felt his heart stopped when he saw Rina walking down the aisle with her father by her side.
Her long raven hair was tied into an elegant bun, and she wore a sleeveless white gown. She was absolutely beautiful.
"Take care of her." Gao spoke to Rodissiuss, before patting his shoulder and went to sit with the crowd.
"Hi." Rodissiuss gave her a small smile, after removing the veil to look at her face.
"Hey." Rina smiled back shyly.
"Ladies, gentleman, boys and girls. Today we are gathered here to witness the marriage of Rodissiuss Eric Andrews and Rina Kwon-Gao in holy matrimony." Ambrose began. "Now before we begin, those who do not think this couple should be together may speak now."
A quiet silence.
"I think that would be a no." Aries spoke out, before Doris and Clarine shushed her.
"If that's the case. Rodissiuss Eric Andrews, do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife. To love and to cherish, in sickness or in health, til death does you part?" Ambrose turned to Rodissiuss.
"I do." Rodissiuss nodded.
"very well. And do you, Rina Kwon-Gao, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love him and always cherish him. Til death does you part?" Ambrose continued.
"I do." Rina smiled.
"Then by the power vested in me, I hereby pronounced you both Husband and Wife. You may now kiss the bride." Ambrose declared as the newlywed started to kiss.
"I always cry during weddings!" Horace Diaz started to sob.
"So do I!" Doris nodded, before blowing into a handkerchief Frank loaned her.
"Get a hold of yourself." Gao commented, glancing at Horace crying a river.
"You're crying too." Boris pointed out.
"of course, I have the right to cry, it's my daughter's wedding!" Gao hissed back defensively.
"ABOUT TIME!" Aries and Frank whooped loudly.
"EWWW!" Bernice and Greg gagged loudly, to them it was still the age of Cooties and Germs.
"I love you so much, Rina. You are the most special person I have ever met." Rodissiuss leaned his forehead against Rina's.
"More special than your best man?" Frank pretended to be hurt.
"Sorry, Frankie, I gotta side with my wife for this one." Rodissiuss apologized.
"And now time to throw the bride's bouquet! ALL THE SINGLE LADIES HUDDLE UP!" Clarine cheered, before all the ladies gathered in a huge huddle.
"Good luck, ladies." Rina giggled, before hurling the bouquet.
And the lucky lady who caught the bouquet is…Doris, and standing next to her was Frank.
"Oh my gods…" Doris flushed red.
"DORIS IS GONNA MARRY NEXT!" Rodissiuss declared, as everyone laughed.
"Good luck, because I fear my kids need mental help from your kids." Rina joked.
"NOT FUNNY!" Frank and Doris got defensive, before looking away and blushed.
"Well, Rina ain't lying." Boris commented, seeing the future briefly through his eyes.
"Remember, if you have a daughter and I have a son, we're becoming in-laws together." Rodissiuss walked over to loop an arm around Frank's shoulder.
"Yeah, it's definitely an ambition." Boris added, seeing another future vision.
"Is this about becoming grandpas together, again?" Frank chuckled.
"Yes!" Rodissiuss nodded.
"Oh you will all be surprised." Boris chuckled.
"What did you see?" Frank asked.
"I cannot tell you." Boris shrugged.
"Oh come on!" Rodissiuss and Frank groaned.
"Boys will be boys." Doris commented.
"Fine, you will birth your husband 13 kids." Boris told Rina.
"13?!" Rina and Rodissiuss looked at each other, before blushing bright red.
~ Flashback Ended~
"You two are so cute together." Evie grinned, still crying a bit over the wedding.
"While it was sad that even his parents didn't show up, at least people who cared for him most were there for him." Carlos crossed his arms.
"I know, she was the love of my life. Forever will be." Rodissiuss smiled to himself.
"She is pretty." Doy commented.
"The prettiest." Rodissiuss nodded.
"Not really. Janoy is prettier!" Doy replied.
"Oh, really?" Rodissiuss chuckled, amused.
"That is so Roman-tic." Carlos nodded.
"Is that why you named your son Roman?" Lou asked.
"Oh no, Roman and Riker were both conceived when Rina and I were having our honeymoon travelling around the world, and around the time we were at Rome, Italy." Rodissiuss explained.
"DAD! NOBODY NEEDS TO LEARN ABOUT MY BIRTH HISTORY!" Roman blushed red.
"Fine. I can give you the book about the Birds and the Bees." Rodissiuss replied.
"DAD!" Roman groaned, blushing in embarrassment.
"We do now." Lou giggled.
"Can we go to Italy someday?" Doy asked January.
"YAY!" January cheered happily.
"PERVERT! HOW DARE YOU WANT TO ELOPE WITH MY DAUGHTER!" Roman pointed accusingly at Doy.
The planetarium door opens as Tracy shoved Jay (all tied up) onto the floor.
"Looks like I win Isle Wrestling!" Tracy cheered.
"That is a woman." Roman commented with a smile.
"Normally I would hate your comment. But she is so awesome." Jay nodded, agreeing.
"So which couple are we gonna see next?" Doy asked.
"Bernice/The Great De…De-Fan-Doy!" January read out loud.
"De-Fan-Doy. Good one." Jones laughed.
"Sweet, I ship Grenice!" Tracy grinned.
"I knew they'd end up together." Rodissiuss nodded.
"By the way, you guys can go for a break for the next chapter. Because the Fearsome Foursome are gonna subbing in." The authoress added.
"But why?!"
"Fine by me!" Jones grinned. "I am gonna be playing video games with my peeps and homies."
"Cyd, Spark, Jordan and Maya." Tracy listed Jones's video game buddies.
"No. I invited Oliver, Skylar, Kaz, Connor (Gamers Guide), Luke Ross and Carlos." Jones pointed out.
"I will tag along!" Evie claimed, holding onto Carlos's arm. She is not going to let Carlos get distracted by other girls.
"Do you even play video games?" Carlos asked.
"Of course. I'm not just a pretty face." Evie scoffed, seemingly offended.
"I guess I have some spare time to hang out with Josh." Lou quickly texted her boyfriend.
"So…does that mean you wanna spend time?" Jay asked Tracy.
"I have midterms in 2 weeks." Tracy frowned, smacking Jay's head with her Psycholinguistics notes.
"So I guess this is all for today?" Doy asked.
"Uh huh. Bye-bye!" January waved.
"Can't wait to see the next episode already." Lou told Tracy and Evie.
"Bye! Have a nice day!" everyone turned to the camera and waved.
