Be My Valentine!
Part XXI: A Little Bit of Luck
Hi, sorry for being inactive for a while, work has been keeping me busy lately, and last year has been very eventful with ups and downs in my life and lost a few important people in my life (my academic advisor Mr. K who was like the friendly uncle to everyone, my grandfather, Cameron Boyce). Anyway here is a new chapter for our Valentine's day installment. (I make it a habit to update this story annually on February) Onto disclaimers: I do not own Disney or any of the characters, I only own my OCs. Enjoy
3, 2, 1! And…Action!
The camera started rolling, as we see a stage with a few teens standing on stage.
"And we're back with another February edition of "Be My Valentine!", I'm your MC, Lou." Lou waved at the camera.
"2019 has been a long year. I mean, my grandpa died. I got diagnosed with mild scoliosis, Cameron Boyce died." Jones sighed a bit.
"QUIT TELLING EVERYONE I'M DEAD!" Carlos De Ville yelled, rushing into the stage so he can smack Jones in the head, while the glassed boy laughed.
"Sometimes I can still hear his voice." Jones faked a sad smile, ignoring Carlos.
"Enough with the teasing. I'm the other MC, Evie Queen." Evie waved at the camera with a smile.
"And I am Jay, wait, where is Feisty?" Jay asked, trying to look for his crush.
"She's busy today, she mentioned to me that she's helping Jenny out for earing her rope tying badge." Evie replied.
"Anyways, this time we will be looking into Jay and Tracy for this Valentine's day." Jones frowned.
"You sure hate Jay, huh?" Carlos raised his eyebrows.
"Eh, I can never understand why would he ever like my sister in a romantic way." Jones gagged. "My sister is the grossest human being I know alive."
"REALLY BRO?!" Tracy yelled, rushing into the filming set after removing some tied-up ropes from my torso. Long story, but Jenny joined the girl scouts and her attempt of getting her rope tying badge, and convinced Tracy to help her out.
"Hey sorry I am late." Tracy apologized.
"No worries, we're just getting started." Carlos replied.
"Hey, Feisty." Jay flashed her his brightest and flirtiest smile he could muster.
"Anyway, shall we roll the clips?" Evie asked, interrupting.
"Yup, I have been a proud shipper of Jay and Tracy since the first day they met." Carlos nodded.
"Same, she's been rejected by almost every guy at school back when we were in middle school." Lou nodded.
"This Valentines' Day story takes place in the Ghostwriter and the Lone Ranger AU, so Roman doesn't exist there." The authoress added.
"JAY, I SWEAR IF YOU EVER DO ANYTHING TO MY SISTER-!" Jones pointed at Jay (like that meme of a lady yelling at a cat), before the clips started rolling.
~ Couple: Jay x Tracy Chimokuri/Li ~
It was once again, Valentine's Day. The most romantic day of the year.
It was after class of another Friday at Auradon University. After graduating from Auradon Prep, almost everyone went to further their studies in Auradon University, a prestigious university nearby. It was great that
"No it's not. It's a day of rejection and heartbreaks." Tracy corrected.
"What makes you say that?" Mal, her classmate, questioned.
"I'm someone who has been rejected and/or friendzoned for a very long time, so I pretty much gave up at the idea of pursuing a relationship on this particular day." Tracy shrugged, tucking her books into her bag.
"Dreams are broken, what's said and done, Ben is my sister's Loyal Son." Jones quoted from his poem to Ben and Tracy as he walked by, snickering.
"I SAID I WAS SORRY!" Ben winced a bit, before shouting over.
Long story, but back in middle school, Tracy had a crush on Ben and tried to confess, which the young prince assumed she liked him as a friend and responded she is like his mom, always looking out for him. I'm not sure about you, but that is like the WORST version of rejecting someone.
"I still cannot believe we need to go to a Tourney game today. I have better things to do. Like making a remix out of the snoring tapes of Max, Jones and Carlos snoring in my room." Tracy joked with a smile.
Jones, Carlos and Max are a trio of friends who often hang out in each other's rooms to play video games or even sleep over. So often, there are people who question if they're all dating. Unlikely since Jones is asexual, Max is a disastrous flirt, and Carlos is currently dating Evie.
Jay's on a scholarship for Auradon University, he did apply for Sherwood Forest University earlier, but by forgetting to attend the orientation day he basically lost his scholarship and he forgot to inform the campus that he was going to take a gap year.
It was a great coincidence that everyone they both knew from high school were going to the same campus, so it was a relief to see everyone at the same place again. Even though everyone is now studying different subjects and going to different places in life, but it is always great to see and catch up with each other every now and then.
Tracy was studying as an English Language major, while Jay was studying Sport Science. They don't see each other often but they always find time to catch up with each other.
"Besides it is important to come and support your boyfriend." Evie teased, nudging Tracy by the shoulder.
"Evie, Jay is not my boyfriend." Tracy frowned, hiding her blushing cheeks.
"No good friend would just simply give up his favorite beanie for you like that." Mal commented, raising an eyebrow.
"Look, I am just here to provide moral support for our friends who are also on the Tourney team. And roast the other team during the half-time show." Tracy winked back.
"Do you think we should head over to the pre-match party? Jones just texted me that he, Carlos and Max are planning an epic prank against the other campus's mascot." Tracy checked the phone messages on her phone.
"Is this going to be any bit like the time all the kids stole mascots from all over Auradon and you had to be present for the PTA meetings?" Mal raised an eyebrow.
A while back, all the kids thought it would be funny to team up in pairs and steal mascots from other schools all over Auradon, neither one of them knew that everyone else was doing the same thing. In the end, it resulted in master thievery of all mascots and Tracy had to be involved in helping them talk things out with the other headmasters and education ministers to not send them to military school.
"Is that why you're bringing January and Jayden to the party too?" Evie teased.
"I have to, I promised them to give Jay their good luck charms." Tracy replied, motioning to two little kids walking in front of the three girls.
"You guys sure behave like a married couple. Which is ironic since Ben and I are the only ones that are engaged so far." Mal raised an eyebrow and stated.
"That's why I love my brother, he's the only one I've got." Tracy smiled back. Boys come and go but family is forever.
"Aww, thanks sis." Jones gave his sister a side hug.
"Anytime, baby bro." Tracy ruffled his hair.
"Can we get back to the romance part?" Jay asked, continuing the video.
Meanwhile
Jay was at the pre-match party that his teammates host every time before they had to go for a match. Today, their first game of the semester is against the Olympian Demigods from Greece. Which to be honest, is not a fair game at all considering half the team members from Olympian Institution for Demigods are literally demigods with supernatural strengths and abilities.
"Good luck for the game." Some girls were trying to flirt with him.
He is used to having girls flocking over him, it used to be a habit of his to just flirt and get with girls he meets. But all that seemed to change after he met Tracy Li.
She is smart, sarcastic, not afraid to speak out, caring, compassionate and always there to keep him on his feet. She is not as pretty as girls Jay has met or dated, but Jay liked her for who she is on the inside. And he's thought long about it, and he has decided that he will confess to her if they win the game today. He just hopes that Tracy will accept his feelings. I mean they've confessed to each other a few years ago, but they never acknowledged if they wanted to date or not, Tracy wasn't the type to rush into relationships. And he respects that.
"Feisty, you made it!" He spotted hos crush/friend walking in with their kids (that they often babysat, so often that sometimes people mistake them being a married couple with children) along with Mal and Evie.
"Papa." January cheered as she ran over to hug him.
"Hey, how's my little girl?" Jay laughed.
"I'm so glad you could make it today." He turned to his friend.
"Well, how could I not? Jayden and January have been excited to watch your game for weeks. And I promised you I'd show up, right?" Tracy gave him a smile. There was always something about Jay that she liked, even though it was still surprising that they make the unlikeliest of friends.
"OMG, that Jay likes kids too? That is so hot."
"I know right? I want him to have my babies."
Tracy overheard a few girls swooning over Jay, and some being a bit too excited to say the least than others.
'They're all so pretty. What am I compared to those type of girls around?' Tracy started feeling insecure about the way she looked. She has never been the naturally beautiful type, and is often insecure and unsure of herself whenever she is surrounded with beautiful people.
Her thoughts got cut off halfway when Jones, Carlos and Max burst into the party,
"YOU STOLE A FLEECE?!" Tracy went pale as soon as she saw what the boys have stolen.
"Is that the Golden Fleece?! That is just as much of an offense as stealing historic artefacts." Evie asked.
"They talked me into this." Carlos raised a hand to try to defend himself.
"Relax, it's not the same fleece. It's just one that is painted to look like the one from the legend." Jones clarified.
"Hey Jay, do you have any plans after the game?"
"You can call me anytime."
"Good luck at the game."
"Hey Jay, you can call me anytime." Tracy mimicked one of the snobby girls before she lets out a frustrated quiet scream and just punched an actual hole for one of the inflatable tents for that one stall selling merchandise of their campus Tourney stars next door.
"If you like him so much, you should just tell him." Her sister Lonnie told her.
"Yeah, the sooner you date, the less likely you will deal with girls throwing themselves at him." Lonnie's boyfriend, Aziz of Agrabah, nodded.
"I can't tell him that. Admitting I have feelings for him will make me lose this guessing game we have." Tracy explained.
"You two have a weird thing going on. You like him, and we all know he likes you back. Why are you both still not a couple is beyond explanation." One of their friends, Jane stated.
"So you're not worried for today's game at all?" Tracy went to talk to Jay.
"Of course I am; those Demigods do not mess around when they're at their A-Game." Jay replied, subconsciously playing with a bracelet.
"Well I am wishing you the best of luck so that you can kick the other team all the way to Tartarus. Not literally of course." Tracy smiled over.
"I know I will be lucky, because I have this little lucky charm right here." Jay held up his hand, before Tracy saw that he was wearing the bracelet she made him back when they first met. It was a friendship bracelet though, and it was something Jay still cherishes to this very day.
"You still kept it." Tracy tried not to sound surprise.
"Of course, it was because of your bracelet, I won the game. With hardwork, teamwork and a little bit of your luck."
"Oh come on, we all know I don't have the best luck most of the time, remember the time I tripped and pantsed Harry Hook?" Tracy joked as Jay laughed at her joke.
"Hey, game starts in half an hour, we should get into gear."
"Good luck." Tracy waved him off.
"Thanks." Jay smiled back.
CRASH!
"OH COME ON?!" the merch shop attendant yelled when the golden ram from the other school had knocked over the store, with Jackie and Chloe the 8 and 7-year-old siblings riding the sheep like a pony.
"Good job kids!" Jones cheered.
"Wow, even if he didn't do it here, I feel like Jones still causes as much damage as he does." Carlos commented.
"Still it is funny." Jones laughed as his sister nodded.
"How did you steal a golden fleece?" Evie asked.
"The lesser we know, the better." Lou stated as Evie and Jay agreed.
Time skip to after the game because I am that lazy of a writer but somewhere in the middle, Tracy offers all the guys a drink during half-time break.
"Congratulations to Auradon University's Fighting Knights! You all did well for the Tourney game against the Olympian Demigods. That was a great match." The announcer declared.
"You taught your team well, Mr. Jenkins."
"No, it was all their work. I may be their coach, but they are the ones with potential and they play as a team, Mr. Phil."
Both coaches for Auradon University (Coach Jenkins) and Olympian Institution for Demigods (Coach Phil, best known as Hercules's trainer) shook hands after the match was over.
"And we could not have done it without our star player and MVP: Jay Faizan!" the announcer turned to Jay. "Now, Jay, you have come a long way since you first moved here from the Isle and you rose to fame for your amazing sportsmanship talents. Now some of our fans would like to know if you are single."
"Thank you for the compliments. But to answer that question: Yes, I am still single. But I am sorry to disappoint you all that I already have someone special that I like." Jay answered the interviewer's question.
"Ooh, is it the uprising Hollywood starlets Shan Yuko and Yuki? Rumor has it that you used to date them."
Wow that is one nosy news reporter.
"No. But can I make n announcement?" Jay asked, before calling out. "I would like to dedicate this winning to the most special, most caring, and the prettiest girl I have ever met. Tracy Li."
This definitely piqued everyone's attention. Everyone turned their gaze to a surprised and flustered Tracy. Did he just confess his crush on her on live international broadcast?
"All my life, I always thought I would end up with a cheerleader, but I found someone better. I ended up with a soccer mom." Jay started to make a small joke.
Most people would assume since he is a star jock, he would naturally end up with a pretty cheerleader like most of his teammates do. But Tracy has always been more of a soccer mom, considering the fact that she is the motherly type among the kids she often babysits.
…Is he calling me old?
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING OLD?" Tracy misinterpreted what Jay was saying before she tried to take off her shoe to aim it at his head.
"No that is NOT what I mean. Put that shoe down!" Jay panicked, realizing that his words might have caused a misunderstanding. "Let me explain myself."
"I really like you, Feisty. I like you for who you are, and I really like being beside you. For the last 4 years in fact. We've been through a lot together for the last few years, and I was wondering if you would do me the honor of becoming my girlfriend?" Jay began to confess to her in a sincere tone.
Ba-dum. Tracy's heart skipped a beat when she heard him say that. He really said it. He wants to her boyfriend.
Ack, they still have an audience around them. She noticed that some of the girls seemed upset/disappointed/angry that Jay's choose Tracy.
She really wants to accept him, but does not want to make it obvious that she likes him too. Well there is only one thing left to do.
"JAY FAIZAN, THIS IS THE MOST HUMILIATING MOMENT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!" Tracy stormed in front of him yelling, before she rushed to give him a quick hug, pulled away, giving him a fake glare and ran off.
"So was that a yes or a no?" one person questioned.
"That's a yes. If my sister didn't like him, she would have fired the cannon at him." Lonnie raised an eyebrow and replied.
"Go after her, Jay." Ben grinned, encouraging his friend to go after Tracy.
Jay ran out of the stadium and found Tracy standing behind the stadium, trying to hide herself.
"Hey." Jay approached her with a smile.
"Hi." Tracy seemed embarrassed about the way she handled his confession on live broadcast, but was still glad to see him.
"I really didn't mean to run out like that, but you really caught me off guard." Tracy explained, blushing.
"I know; I guess it was wrong for me to just jump in on you like that. But I'm glad that you accepted me." Jay nodded slowly.
"Are you wearing lipgloss?" Jay squinted, eyeing her mouth.
"Yeah, Dizzy has been using me as her makeup practice dummy. Why? Do I look bad?" Tracy tried to cover her mouth.
"No, of course not. You look really pretty that's all." Jay blushed, shaking his head.
Another awkward silence between the two.
"So uh…would it be ok if I can kiss you?" Tracy asked, breaking silence.
Did she just…Yes, she did.
"I thought you'd never ask." Jay winked at her before they both leaned in to kiss each other.
"Hey look! I found Jay and Tracy." A voice called out, as they saw January and Jayden watching the duo.
Jones followed the younger kids out to look for them before his face turned to a disgusted expression. "OH GROSS! THEY'RE SNOGGING! Ugh I need to bleach my eyes."
"I'll take it that it went well?" Mal smirked.
Tracy and Jay seemed taken aback by their friends crashing in, but they shared a smile.
Guess this is the new start for the two as a couple.
~Clips Ended~
"Dang, Tracy." Lou smirked over.
"It's not real. Ok? In one world it is." Tracy yelled, trying not to blush.
"I take what I can get." Jay shrugged, still happy.
"That's still a very cute couple." Evie squealed loudly.
"So what couple will we be watching next time? I need to end this quick before my eyes invert themselves." Jones shuddered.
"Let's see…Dr. Gao and Aiko." Evie read out loud.
"So we're just covering almost every person my sister is gonna end up being related to via marriage then?" Jones asked.
"Kinda. Gao is Roman's grandpa." Tracy turned to explain to everyone else. In my AUs, Dr. Gao from Lab Rats is the biological father of Rina (Rodissiuss's wife) and didn't know he has a kid with his old flame until she was almost married.
"Well this has been fun, we hope that you've enjoyed this chapter." Carlos smiled.
"Thanks for reading, feel free to fave, follow, or leave a review down below and tell us what you think of the chapter." Jones nodded.
"Have a nice day, everyone." The six hosts wave at the screen, before Jones runs past the cameras and out of the filming room.
