Be My Valentine
Part XXIV: Final Days with A Friend
Welcome back to another 2021 segment of 'Be My Valentine!', this chapter is more of a friendship/slight romance chapter but Valentines Day is all about sharing love to different people (loved ones, friends, family, someone you're interested in)
Disclaimer: I do not ow any of the characters from Disney or my friend wrenlyn's (previously known as TeamTLKandBaltoCrew) OC Bandit, I only own my Original Characters. Enjoy.

"Welcome back to another segment of Be My Valentine, I am your temporary host of the day, Regina." Regina Andrews waved at the camera.
"And I am Lou Hawkhauser, this is my fellow Woodchuck fangirl Evie and our honorary Grizzlies, Carlos and Jay." Lou shook hands with Regina.
"Hey, what happened to my sister-in-law and Jones?" Regina noticed the absence of the Chimokuri siblings. Regina is one of Rodissiuss's 13 children and she has taken a liking to her eldest brother's girlfriend.
"Oh, it's the Lunar New Year. Tracy and Jones have to take the day off to spend time with their family." Evie explained.
"And Jay is sulking because…?" Regina glanced at a sulking Jay.
"He wasn't invited to tag along to meet their family members." Carlos explained.
"Uh maybe it's a better idea for Jay to take the day off. He's reminding me of Lou the time she mentioned to us about her crush on the caterer at her family reunion." Evie pointed out, concerned of Jay's wellbeing.
"Eh I have long since moved on from that crush." Lou hissed defensively. I mean she's dating Josh Wilcox now so she is no longer as heartbroken at the mention of her former crush than she used to.
"So what do you guys normally do when you host these segments for Valentines' Day?" Regina asked.
"We would take a look at how other couples are spending Valentines Day, sometimes it would be friendship but usually it's romance." Evie explained.
"So basically you guys are stalking couples?" Regina raised an eyebrow.
"We prefer to think of it as spreading and sharing all love and joy on Valentines' Day." Carlos rephrased.
"Ok, so who's the couple of the day?" Regina asked.
"Says here it's someone called Rory and Jordan." Jay responded, trying to keep his composure. Which can be hard since he was looking forward to spending time with and meeting his girlfriend's family, not stuck here with his other sister-in-law (Tracy ends up with both Roman and Jay).
"Huh, my brother Rory with Jordan? I have always liked her." Regina grinned at the mention of her older brother.
"Dibs on rolling the clips!" Carlos grinned as he started to play the clips onto the screen.
~ Couple/Friendship: Jordan Hook-Carter (daughter of Captain Hook) x Rory Andrews (son of Rodissiuss) ~
Year: 2015, sometime after the events of Descendants 1 and prior to the new VKs arriving at Auradon Prep
(Jordan and Rory are aged 16)
It was just another average day for the Isle of the Lost, only that the King (Oliver Diaz) had recently declared that a few new students from the Isle are handpicked to attend Auradon Prep. Jordan Hook was one of the said students.
Jordan Hook was minding her own business, spending the last few days she has left on the Isle of the Lost on her own.
She wasn't that keen on the idea of spending the occasion with a date or a looting partner, or breaking up with previous partners like her friends were.
She found a really cool audio book on tape while she was scavenging through the new junk from the mainland the other day and can't wait to finish listening to it.
Until she heard someone tapping on her basement window.
"Rory? What are you doing here?" Jordan asked, noticing a boy her age crawling into her basement/room.
"Hiding." Rory whispered, before quickly shutting the window. Rory is one of Rodissiuss's (who plays the role of Shan Yu) many children, and is one of Jordan's close friends.
Rory is perhaps one of the most attractive boys on the Isle (along with his siblings who are all born ridiculously attractive, guess they have all the good looking genes), which makes him an easy target for many admirers to swoon and chase.
"Did Rachel Diaz try to ask you out, again?" Jordan mused. She knew for a fact that the snotty eldest daughter of Morgana the Sea Witch had a huge crush on Rory.
"Yup, along with a few other girls." Rory nodded, helping himself down to sit on the floor.
"Pretty ironic that you came to my room like how we met the first time." Jordan Hook raised an eyebrow at him, before she sat down as well.
"I swear, I didn't know where I was going and you came across me in my grieving stage of life." Rory responded defensively.
Both teens met back when they were children. One night after attending his mother's funeral, a distraught and devastated Rory went out to mug a few people to numb the pain. That was, until he stumbled into Jordan's room by mistake and basically needed someone to hug and talk to.
"Yeah I know; you were such a cry-baby." Jordan teased him a little.
"No plans for the day?" Rory asked his friend.
"Not really, I was gonna listen to an audio book." Jordan motioned to her earphones and CD player on her bed.
"So is it cool if I just hang for a bit?" Rory asked, musing at her.
"Eh, you always hang out in my house anyways." Jordan waved a hand dismissively at him.
"I thought you were supposed to hang out with Cyd and Maya today?" Rory remembered.
"They cancelled on me last minute. They both had plans today: Maya is spending her last days breaking up with that Aiden Tremaine, and Cyd has to spend the day to dump some guy she used to have a crush on." Jordan grumbled in response, before adding, "Heck, even Experion is spending his last few days on the Isle with Scarlett."
Usually, she would be more than glad to be away from her nosy sisters. But the thought that she has to leave them behind to go to Auradon seems rather bittersweet to her.
"What's that in your hand?" Jordan noticed her friend was carrying a bag with him.
"I managed to finish this before I came out this morning." Rory took out a photo album from his bag and handed to Jordan. He looked quite pleased and proud of how his pictures turned out. Rory always had a passion for photography, along with public speaking, mystery solving and criminology.
"Can I see it?" Jordan asked, before Rory handed the photo album to her.
Jordan started to look through the pictures he took of the Isle with his previous camera. There were pictures of him and his family members, pictures of him and their friends. Even pictures of his little sister Rainey cackling and winning a noodle eating contest with her werewolf friend Wyatt.
"So did you got the chance to enjoy your morning before your run-in with your stalkers?" Jordan joked.
"Unfortunately, yes. I was gonna spend a few minutes to talk to my younger siblings when I overheard the Tremaine girls calling out to me." Rory nodded, shuddering at the memory of his crazed fangirls chasing after him.
She stopped at one picture. It was a picture of the two of them smiling. She remembered that picture, Rory made them take a photo together when the two of them won a 3-legged contest last year.
"I remember this one. I just thought you looked really happy and cool when we won." Rory responded, looking over her shoulder. Their eyes meet before Rory looked away with a loud cough.
"Dust." Rory responded, pointing at some cobwebs in Jordan's room.
"Can I take this picture to Auradon with me?" Jordan asked out.
"Sure, you can have that." Rory nodded, as Jordan carefully placed Rory's picture into one of her books as a bookmark.
"Are you up for a video game day instead?" Jordan suggested, motioning to her video game console.
"Shouldn't you be packing for your new boarding school?" Rory asked.
"Eh I think I am more in a gaming mood right now. Besides I can't exactly bring it to Auradon with me." Jordan responded, before asking, "you in?"
"You know it." Rory gave her a lopsided grin.
-Pause Screen-
"Wait, is that what they actually do whenever they hang out?" Evie asked, as the hosts watch Jordan and Rory play alien strangling games.
"Yeah, Jordan has violent thoughts. This is why Jones likes to hang out with her." Carlos shrugged a bit.
On the other side of the building
"I suddenly feel terrified, and I don't know why." Skylar Storm shuddered uncomfortably.
Back in the Studio
"Yeah, isn't Jordan just the coolest?" Regina grinned, she liked Jordan and approved if Jordan ever ended up dating her older brother.
"Does anything interesting happen?" Lou asked.
"Eh sometimes you don't need all the grand romantic gestures, it's all about who you're hanging out with and making the most of the little moments." Regina spoke out.
-Resume-
After playing video games and chatting for a few hours, it was almost time for Rory to go back home.
"Y'know, I'm gonna miss you when you leave." Rory spoke out.
"Why? Because you don't get to hang out in my room to hide from your fans anymore?" Jordan asked.
"Kinda, but also because you're my friend, Jor." Rory flashed her a smile.
"Speaking of which, I got you this. Think of it as my farewell gift to you." Rory dug out a small box from his pocket. It was small enough to fit…a ring.
"No!" Jordan gasped, looking horrified and disgusted. She then proceeds to kick the box out of Rory's hand.
"Relax, it's not romantic! It is NOT romantic, drop your hatchet!" Rory responded, opening the ring box to reveal…a mood ring.
"It's a mood ring I found." Rory clarified.
Well that sure was awkward. She almost chopped off her best guy friend's hand over the idea that him was proposing to her.
"Ror, you know you could have just given it to me without the box!" Jordan huffed in response, putting down a hatchet. She has a fear of romantic commitment ever since her parents got divorced a few years ago.
"Yeah, but the box is safer than the chances of me losing your farewell gift." Rory stated.
"Oh, well that was very…thoughtful of you." Jordan smiled, taking a look at the mood ring. She's always had a thing for mood rings, and she's got a dozen of them she's collected over the years.
"You're welcome. So this means you've finally succumb to my charms?" Rory smirked over, flashing his friend his signature devil-may-care smile.
"Oh please. Don't get ahead of yourself. I'll take the ring, but I am not promising anything." Jordan scoffed, ruffling his hair. She then puts on the mood ring. A perfect fit.
"I know." Rory nodded, "I'll miss you, Jor. Don't forget about me while you're there with the prissy royals, ok?"
"How could I ever forget you?" Jordan responded in an amused tone, "You're one of the best friends on the Isle and the few people here who get me. I don't really hate you."
"Bye Jor, I'll see you tomorrow before you and the other classmates leave." Rory opened the window, about to leave.
"Yeah, sure is gonna be a bummer to leave here." Jordan nodded, she will miss her home even if she didn't often get along with her family members. "Now leave before your family finishes off your share of dinner."
"Oh, before I forget." Rory turned around, before he leaned in to hug the pirate. Jordan wasn't expecting Rory to hug her (he was never the affectionate type) and felt her heartbeat quicken before she returned the hug.
"Wow, you sure are tiny." Rory made a remark while he was hugging his friend.
"Get off me before I break your legs." Jordan hissed.
"Bye Jor!" Rory waved before he made a run for it.
Jordan turned her gaze from the window to her mood ring. Its colour was violet.
Outside…
Rory sighed to himself, knowing he once again let his chances of telling his crush he has feelings for her slip away. He's had a crush on Jordan since they were 13, but doesn't wish to ruin the friendship they have.
But…I guess some things are better the way they are without rushing to change them.
Maybe Rory is meant to be just friends with Jordan.
~End Clip~
"Huh, so what was what Rory was doing on Jordan's last few days left on the Isle." Regina made a remark once the video ended.
The Andrews sister was mildly disappointed that there was no confession but still happy for her brother nonetheless.
"Well they sure look good together." Jay made a comment.
"Aww, aren't they just cute together? Just ditch Kaz already and date my brother!" Regina cheered at the screen.
"Yeah that's not happening anytime soon." Evie pointed at Bradley (Jordan and Kaz's futyre son) who was sitting in the waiting room outside.
"Well your dad might be a horrible guy, but I'm sure my brother would welcome you gladly into our family." Regina snickered.
"How many future fankids are there?" Carlos asked.
"There's a lot of them." The authoress responded from behind the camera. But I don't think the Hosts are ready to learn of the crack ship fankids just yet.
"That sure was a nice segment." Lou nodded. While she personally ships Jordan with Kaz but she keeps her options open for any potential future pairings.
"Thanks for having me over today." Regina gave her co-hosts a little curtsey, "But I have to leave now, I have plans."
"Oh, like a date?" Evie perked up with interest.
"Yeah…kinda." Regina plastered a smile before she left the venue.
"Ok, have a safe trip back." Lou waved.
A few seconds after Regina had left…
"Yeah, who will be our next lucky couple?" Evie started to open the envelope for the next couple, before Jay gave a little drumroll.
"The paper gave me 3 names instead of 2." Evie pointed out.
'Yasmin (the Skater Girl), Ryan Walker, Ranger Andrews'
"Who even is Yasmin?" Lou asked.
"Yasmin is the name of the skater girl Ryan had a crush on in Mech X4." Carlos explained, he's watched the series before and found the concept of technopathy quite interesting.
"And Ranger is one of Regina's siblings." Jay pointed out.
"Uh yeah I have a Mech X4 fanfic I never fully write, but long version short Ranger has a crush on Ryan." The authoress explained.
A few moments later, someone all too familiar to the hosts and authoress ran through the walls.
"I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED." Caitlin announced with a big grin. She's a big LGBT shippings fan, but it's her Adult Rated fanfics and fanart that horrifies everyone to no end.
"Oh no, who let Caitlin get in here?!" Carlos freaked out.
"And we were just starting to get used to all the peace and quiet!" Evie face palmed.
The authoress pressed a Red Alert button as Caitlin was pulled away by Mighty Max security officers, and everyone starts to run while they can.
Meanwhile…
Jordan Hook was in front of her laptop, having a face call with her friend Rory.
"Hey Ror, how are you?" Jordan greeted her friend.
"Doing good. Same old." Rory shrugged, just glad to see his friend again.
"So did you get the parcel I sent you?" Jordan asked.
"Yeah. I haven't opened it though." Rory holds up a parcel. "It's heavy. What did you send me? Rocks?"
"Just open it." Jordan frowned at his dry humor.
Rory starts to open the parcel, and gasped.
"Is this a new camera?" Rory asked, taking out the camera from the parcel.
"Not exactly a 'new' camera per say, they're very expensive here." Jordan corrected, "It's a second-hand one I got off cheap from one of my classmates."
"I love it, thanks Jordan." Rory smiled fondly at the camera.
"Should I leave you alone so you and your camera can spend more quality time?" Jordan mused at her friend.
"No. But I'm glad you actually called me." Rory nodded.
A dog barks as Jordan made way for her pet Bandit to come sit on her lap.
"Who's this little fella?" Rory asked, noticing the new guest.
"This is Bandit, she's a German Shephard-Rottweiler. I adopted her from the animal shelter a few months back." Jordan smiled, rubbing Bandit's belly. "Bandit, this is my old friend Rory. Rory, Bandit."
"Nice to meet you." Rory waved over from the screen.
"She can be a little rough around the edges sometimes, but she's a sweetheart." Jordan added.
"Oh, you mean just like you?" Rory quipped in, before he blushed.
"What?" Jordan paused, feeling her checks turning pink.
"Uh nothing. I just said Bandit is pretty like you." Rory stated. "So uh wanna play video games online instead and rant about how awful the games are growing?"
"Oh totally." Jordan grinned, as the three of them spend the rest of Valentines' Day chatting and enjoying each other's company.
I've always wanted to write a Rory/Jordan chapter, and the few interactions I have written for them is usually in stories like "A Promise to Fulfil" or "Worst 16th Birthday Ever" when Rory appears as Jordan's new friend after Oliver, Kaz and 'Connie' went to Centium City. The next chapter is gonna be fun.
Chapter Talk: -
1) It's the Lunar New Year on Valentines' Day this year, so I incorporated the Lunar New Year with Tracy and Jones being on leave to hang out with their family members for the day. Don't worry they will be back next chapter.
2) Rory has a crush on Jordan, but the feelings are one-sided for him because he is aware that Jordan isn't really the type who wants to date anyone at the moment. And he is perfectly fine at keeping their relationship platonic because it won't ruin their friendship. Rory has an interest in photography, and Jordan likes mood rings. What better Valentine's day (or friendship) gift to one another? Also I did a research on what mood ring colours represent, and violet refers to "having intense feelings, that can range from happiness, excitement and other strong feelings like romance"
3) So yeah Ranger's chapter is up next, and it will be an emotional ride for the love triangle mentioned above. Unfortunately, this means Caitlin might either break in and try to be the host for next chapter or she will try to meddle in as much as possible.
4) While it's not really mentioned, but Regina has a huge crush on Xiumin from EXO and her Date Night plans are often just chilling in her bed and watching music videos of her celebrity crush.
Caitlin: I'LL BE BACK NEXT CHAPTER
Evie: gods, please don't.
Jay: yeah she tried to break into my room the other day and convince me to leave Feisty and start dating Carlos instead *shudders*
Carlos: I think we can all collectively agree that Caitlin scares all of us.
Lou: yeah no questions there.
Carlos: anways, thanks for reading. Feel free to leave a review down below and tell us what you think.
Evie: See you next chapter, and have a nice day.
