Chapter 5 Execution

"Ahhhhh now this is nice," said Leone as she sat down in the hotspring. "Nothing like taking a good bath after a long day of training."

"You said it," agreed Mine, all of the girls excluding Najenda. "Today was crazy, I wasn't expecting so much work to make our own special moves."

"Don't worry it's worth it," said Sayo. "You guys need to get the basics down and after that your own unique ability will be a lot easier to master and a lot easier to use."

"Is that what you're trying to do with the boss?" asked Akame

Sayo thought for a moment. "Somewhat, the training we're doing is a lot different and I wasn't going to be all secretive but Najenda asked to keep it a secret. She wants to surprise you guys."

"Really I can't wait," said Leone imagining what crazy power the boss was going to come out with. "I can't wait to see what she's got."

"I think you will be pleasantly surprised, she is working very hard to complete it, she's even working right now on it as we speak."

This surprised the girls, "She is?"

"Yep," said Sayo as she remembered Najenda working on her training. "She's quite determined to get it, I've only stopped her if I felt she was pushing herself too hard, other than that she has made excellent progress."

The others let the news sink in, before Leone slammed her fist together. "Then that just means we have to work even harder, we can't let the boss leave us in the dust." Akame nodded in agreement.

"Great," said Mine "That means more back pain for us."

"Pfft. What kind of back pain do you have?" Teased Leone

Mine got a tick mark. "What does that mean?"

Leone smiled. "Well I'm just saying with how small your chest is, back pain really ain't much of an issue for you."

"WHY YOU GRRRRRRRR." Mine was tempted to jump at Leone. "Just you wait, you won't be laughing when I get boobs bigger than yours."

"Like that'll ever happen." Leone couldn't imagine that happening.

Sayo took this though a little too seriously. "Becareful Mine you don't want to make them too big or you might have some issues to deal with, so be careful with your nen."

"Huh, my nen?" said Mine as she connected the dots. "WAIT are you saying I can use Nen to make my boobs bigger?"

"Huh did the guys not tell you, I know they told Lubbock and Bulat." Sayo then saw she had all of the girl's attention. "Sigh Yes you can use Nen to make your boobs bigger."

Mine jumped for joy at the news. "Yes."

"No way, how?" said Leone, now a little nervous as she saw how Nen has made the impossible possible before.

"Mine don't jump in the bath and sit down." Mine sat down eager to listen. Sayo then continued. "Allow me to explain. Enhancers and Manipulators can both do the job so depending on your category you can have an easier job depending on how you do it. Enhancers can use nen to not only enhance but to also enlarge certain parts of their bodies, this also includes the breasts, Manipulators can simply manipulate their bodies to get the same results, just manipulate the tissue and glands in your body to make them bigger. Mine, since you are an emitter both options are viable to you, Leone and Akame can do something with the enhancement route and Sheele can use the manipulator route like me. Though I warn you girls to not go too crazy with this, cause there can be problems with growing them too big or growing them too quickly. Also you can't go bigger than your frame or else that will cause even more problems."

Mine bowed. "Please teach me."

"Oh teach me as well." said Leone

"I would like to know as well." admitted Akame

"Sure," she then noticed that Sheele hadn't said anything. "Sheele would you also like to know as well."

Sheele looked at Sayo. "Oh sure, I wouldn't mind learning, but why did Tatsumi and Ieyasu tell Lubbock and Bulat this and not us, they don't have breasts."

Sayo laughed a little. "They most likely didn't tell them exactly that, they most likely told them the male version."

"The male version?" said the other girls.

Sayo's face slowly turned into disgust. "You see my mentor was a master of Nen but he was also a bit of a pervert, When he first started training us, the first thing he told us how he used Nen to make the perfect body. Handsome face, big muscles and the thing he loved to say the most was that he had a giant dick."

The girls looked kind of shocked before Leone laughed. "You serious?"

"Yep, I was about ready to leave if he didn't mention how I could use nen to slim down, gain no fat, eliminate back pain, and make my monthly friend painless."

"Wait," said Leone. "Did you just say you don't get any cramps when you have your period?"

"Pretty much."

All the girls bowed simultaneously, "Please teach me."

"Sure," as she had them stop bowing. "I'm just surprised that you guys didn't think of this stuff when we first explained how much you could change your body with nen."

"I guess we just haven't quite yet grasped with how much we can do with nen," All the girls turn to see Najenda walking towards them. "I hate to ruin your bath time but we have a job to do. Dry yourselves off and get dressed and meet me in the main hall."

All the girls began to move as they grabbed their towels and walked inside. Akame grabbed Sayo's hand. "Huh? Is something wrong Akame?" Akame, slightly nervous, asked a question. One that surprised Sayo.

All of Night Raid, including the three hunters, were in the meeting hall. "We have a new target, a serial killer plaguing the city," said Najenda. "Zank the Beheader."

"Zank the Beheader, who's that?" asked Tatsumi

"Oh yeah you guys aren't from this country," said Mine "Zank was once an imperial soldier who was a guard at one of the prisons and he was their executioner. He spent years cutting off the heads of the prisoners, day after day he kept cutting, and eventually he began to enjoy it. Soon the prisoners weren't enough. He then killed the warden and escaped with his teigu."

Tatsumi's eyes shined. "Teigu, you mean a nen weapon."

"That's your response, shouldn't you be scared or creeped out?" said Lubbock

"Let's be honest here Lubbock," said Bulat. "I doubt there are many things that scares someone as strong as Tatsumi."

"Either way," said Najenda, getting the meeting back on topic. "Zank has killed several people, some of those he has killed were a part of the elite imperial guard, so he's quite strong and needs to be dealt with. He's too much of a problem for us to ignore. We need to eliminate him." All of Night Raid nodded.

"Don't worry we'll help out as well." said Tatsumi.

"You just want to see his weapon," said Sayo, calling out Tatsumi. "But you're right we'll help."

"Yeah we can't let some crazy mad man keep killing," said Ieyasu. "I'm more than willing to help out."

"Alright then," said Najenda. "Then the mission is to eliminate Zank the Beheader."

Tatsumi soon found himself down in the city on a mission, he was currently sitting on a bench in one of the streets, but he felt that something else was going on, as he saw both Sayo and Akame were glancing at him. 'Just what the hell is going on?' he thought as he remembered when they decided to split up, both Sayo and Akame practically rushed him. 'Are they fighting or something?' as he noticed that both of them were also acting weird to each other.

Sayo was trying to scan the area but her mind was elsewhere. 'What the hell am I doing?' She roared in her mind. 'Why am I acting like this? I've known Tatsumi for years, he's a good friend. A really really good friend, right?' she didn't know any more. 'Why did Akame have to ask me that question, I mean I know why but,' Sayo slapped her face. 'Now is not the time for this, now I need to focus on stopping a serial killer. I can think about my feelings later.'

Akame was looking at her snack and sneaking glances at Tatsumi and Sayo, 'I don't like this. I don't know what exactly I should do but I can't let these feelings just bottle up, I might end up like Merraid, but will this ruin my friendship with Sayo or what about the other girls, will this cause problems with them.' She thought as she innerwardly panicked. The most she showed outwardly was a few twitches.

Tatsumi saw Akame twitching and then looked over and saw Sayo's mind racing face. 'Neither of them have their mind on the assignment at all.' Tatsumi gave them both a look before standing up. "Okay, I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick."

"Be careful," said both Akame and Sayo at the sametime earning a bit of an awkward silence as Tatsumi walked off.

After he left neither of the girls said a word for a moment until Akame tried to be professional. "Have you located anything, I'm still not the best with En."

Sayo concentrated for a moment. "No, I can't focus."

"I'm sorry," said Akame. "I shouldn't have said anything earlier."
"No, that isn't your fault, to be honest I'm kind of thankful for it now that I think about it. For a long time I've been traveling with Tatsumi I forgot how much I had a crush on him, and when you asked about it, it brought back all those feelings. If you hadn't done so I might have lost him and I don't want that." she said as she realized how many feelings Akame's question brought out.

"I like him as well." said Akame with confidence. "For years I have been fighting and he's been the first person that has ever made me feel this way, he's the first person that I can imagine living many years together with. He's the first one to make me truly feel safe." Sayo heard Akame's words and could tell that she meant it. The girl has been through so much in her life, life and death situations every day and Tatsumi was the first real thing that made her feel safe. "Sayo where do we go from here?" asked Akame.

Tatsumi found a nice wall to pee on, after he was done he hesitated for a moment. "Should I head back so soon or should I give them some time, maybe they're talking right now." He said when suddenly he saw movement in the corner of his eye, he activated Go and saw that Nen was coming from a person down the street. 'That must be Zank, he's using some sort of power on me, wait why is he covered in nen and why does it have a small feminie shape.' Tatsumi then figured it out. 'This must be the teigu's power, it allows him to change what his target see's. He must be trying to take the form of Sayo or Akame. Okay I'll play your game.' Tatsumi closed his eyes and activated his En and tilted his head down so that his hair covered his eyes. Tatsumi then followed Zank as he ran down the street until he stopped.

Tatsumi stopped when he was a few feet away from Zank. Zank smiled as he readied his blades, 'time to take his head' Before Tatsumi charged, kicking Zank in his stomach sending him to the ground. 'What? he hit me?' Zank held his stomach. "How, I should have the appearance of the one you love most?"

"Ohh is that your power," said Tatsumi as he raised his face and showed his face slowly opening one eye. "It doesn't work if I keep my eyes closed," 'So that's what he looks like' as he finally saw Zanks true form and noticed the thing on his head 'And that must be his teigu, interesting, must affect the mind in some way.'

"Oh it can do more than just mess with my victims mind," said Zank standing up extending the blades on his wrists.

"Mind reading, huh that's a new one." said Tatsumi as he kept his mind empty as to not give Zank the advantage and it clearly worked.

Zank became surprised as he faced down Tatsumi. 'What the hell, he was able to instantly clear his mind within seconds. I was wrong this isn't some dumb kid, he's trained.' Zank grew a big smile on his face. "That will make killing you all the sweeter."

Tatsumi grabbed his sword and slowly brought it out. "You don't seem so down after I eliminated two of your abilities."

"My teigu, The Spector, Has five different senses giving me the ability of extreme observation, giving me more than enough information to see your movements and turn you into a shrunken head." said Zank showing no sign of worry.

"Man you sure do talk a lot." said Tatsumi as he already sent out a few of his Nen scales to surround Zank.

"Talking is one of my hobbies," Zank's smile left his face as he jumped out of the way. "What the hell was that?" he said as he looked at an empty space, but in reality he dodged one of Tatsumi's scales. "Something displaced the air." He then looked at Tatsumi who was now surprised and then noticed his strange sword. "Oh I get it, you have a teigu as well, you just tried to attack me."

"I just wanted to make this quick." Tatsumi got into a battle stance. 'Interesting i wonder how well that eye works, let's toy with him for a bit.'

Zank laughed. "Toy with me," he charged Tatsumi. "That's a riot." Tatsumi sent several scales at him, which to Tatsumi's surprise he dodged again and attacked Tatsumi directly, with Tatsumi's skill he didn't have any trouble countering Zank and sending more scales at him. "What are you a one trick pony," said Zank dodging again.

"It's like he has advanced En," said Tatsumi, confusing Zank. "I'm toying with you, I could have ended you several times already, I want to measure just how well that spector of your's works." Here let me show you our gap.

"Bring it- Huh?" Zank was confused as Tatsumi disappeared and a huge slash appeared on his chest. "AHHHHH" Zank gritted his teeth due to the pain and turned to see Tatsumi standing behind him. 'Such speed, he really could have killed me at any time.' Zank was now trying to figure out a way out of this mess when suddenly an arrow was shot at his feet. Zank looked up in time to see Akame jump down in front of Zank pointing her blade at him. "Akame, I've wanted to meet you for years."

"I wanted to meet you as well," said Akame. "So I can kill you." Akame blinked for a moment, before slightly turning her head to Tatsumi. "Why didn't you kill him."

"I was going too but I was kind of curious on how his teigu worked, oh it allows him to read minds, observe people's movements to an insane degree and change his appearance to that of someone you know." explained Tatsumi. "But he did say it had five abilities so there should be two more, so you should have an easy time dealing with him."

"Understood." said Akame as she powered up her nen coating her sword in nen that began to turn black. "I will end this with one strike."

"One strike you say." said Zank as he looked up at Sayo then back down to Akame and Tatsumi, realizing this might be the end. "Hey Akame how do you deal with the voices?"

"Voices?"

"Yes the voices, the ones that dig up from hell itself, the ones that you have murdered, the ones who hold grudges against you, ever since I became an executioner I've heard them, they've become especially loud, but how do you-"

"I don't hear any voices," she said cutting him off. "I have never heard any voices."

Zank was now genuinely shocked by this. "What? You're an assassin, I thought out of everyone someone like you would understand. How sad it seems I was mistaken." He activated his teigu showing Akame the person she cared for most.

Akame activated her nen and as she did the image of her sister shifted to Tatsumi and then cleared enough to see Zank charging at her. Her eyes glowed for a moment, "I said one strike." Akame decapitating Zank with one quick clean strike.

In Zank's final moments he noticed that the voices had finally stopped.

They soon gathered the rest of night raid and made their way back to the hideout with a brand new teigu as they were heading back several thoughts were going through two girls' minds and they weren't the only ones. Tatsumi then decided to get a little work done on the project Sayo asked for before going to bed, as he worked, he wondered 'Who did I see, I activated my nen so quickly I couldn't see exactly who I saw, I guess I have been working in the forge too long if I can't even tell who is the one I care most about in the world. I never really knew my parents and my longest friends I've had were Ieaysu and Sayo, now Night Raid as well. I don't have many friends but I care for all of them.' Thought Tatsumi before getting slightly annoyed. "Why am I even letting something like this get to me. I never worried about stuff like this before. You know what, I'm going to take a break and take a bath."

Tatsumi left the forge going to his room to gather his things when he heard something in the kitchen. "This is why you woke me up in the middle of the night," Tatsumi recognized the voice. Ieyasu. He glanced inside to see Ieyasu talking to Akame and Sayo. "Look I don't know why this couldn't have waited til morning, besides I'm really not interested in a teigu, I have a weapon already."

"This has nothing about you getting a new weapon," said Sayo. "We just need you to use this teigu for a few moments and we need you to use it on me."

Ieyasu was now confused. "You want me to use this on you….Why?"

Sayo was slowly turning red. "Look can you just do it. I need to settle something with Akame so can you just please use the damn eye thing."

"Okay calm down shesh, but how do you even know I can even use this thing?" as he took the teigu.

"This teigu enhances someones observations and allows them to manipulate what a person sees, chances are you need an Manipulator or a Emmiter to use it, and we just need you to use it for a few seconds."

Ieyasu sighed "Okay but shouldn't we run this by Tatsumi first, he is the weapons guy."

"NOOO" said both girls firmly causing Ieyasu took take a step back.

"Okay, okay, i'll do it, I'll do it." as he put it on his head. "It's way too late for this." He activated the Teigu and for a moment all of his blood left his face and raced down to his pants as he was now looking at the girls in their underwear.

"Ieyasu is it working?" asked Sayo

"Huh? Oh sorry, I uh accidentally zoomed in and skin looks weird up close." he lied to try and avoid a beating as he saw Sayo giving him a skeptical look.

"Wrong one," said Akame. "Try a different ability."

Ieyasu tried again but actually zoomed in this time and then tried again and felt a target on Sayo, "Uh I think I got something, do you see something."

Sayo couldn't answer as Ieyasu disappeared and was replaced with Tatsumi giving her a glowing smile. "Tatsumi," she said as if she was dreaming.

"Tatsumi?" Ieyasu gave her a confusing look. "Oh I guess I activated the illusion function. I wonder if I can make you see something else. OW" he said as the Teigu gave him a slight headache forcing him to take it off. "That kind of hurt, guess I'm not compatible." He then looked up to see Sayo smiling and Akame pouting. "Uh everything alright?"

Sayo turned around and blushed. "Yep everything is perfect."

"Good then could someone give me an explanation." said Najenda. Tatsumi was so focused on what was going on in the kitchen that he didn't hear Najenda and Bulat. Bulat put a finger on his lips telling Tatsumi to be quiet and to move back a bit so Najenda could step forward. "I couldn't sleep and remembered there was some paperwork I forgot and then when I was feeling snackish I found you three in here playing with our newly acquired teigu."

"Hey don't look at me they woke me up for this." said Ieyasu earning a glare from Sayo.

"I'm sorry boss," said Akame with a respected bow. "We needed to use it for a moment."

Najenda looked between Sayo and Akame and got a feeling she knew what was up. "Ieyasu, would you mind giving us the room."

"Keep it," said Ieyasu as he made his way to the door. "I'm too tired anyway, I'm going to bed. You guys and keep test the new teigu if you want but I'm going to go catch some Zs" as he walked out, not even noticing Bulat or Tatsumi as he walked to his room.

Bulat watched him leave. "He's not the most observant one is he?" he whispered to Tatsumi

"He has his moments," whispered Tatsumi before turning his attention back to the kitchen.

"Okay what really is going on here?" asked Najenda. "I know for a fact something has been going on, Akame. I've known you for years and you have never acted like this before, at first I thought it might have been the new training but now I know for sure it has to be something else."

Akame looked down to the ground a little sheepish. "Tatsumi," she said quietly. "I love him."

Najenda was a little surprised along with Bulat who quickly put his hand over Tatsumi's mouth that went wide open at the news. "I see," said Najenda. "You are growing up and you finally found someone you like. How about you, why did you have Ieyasu use the Teigu on you." she said to Sayo.

Sayo was quickly turning red. "When Akame asked me if I was interested in Tatsumi, it made a lot of feelings and emotions come up. I mean he's been my friend for years and now I realized I truly do care for Tatsumi as more than just a friend. Though when Akame mentions that when Zank usee his teigu, she saw the person she cared most about in the world, Tatsumi. I wanted to make sure and prove that I also cared for him as well."

Tatsumi's eyes went wide as he heard all of this, his mind went blank and he had no idea what to do. He turned to Bulat who only shushed him and pointed to the kitchen as Najenda was about to speak. "I see, a lot of feelings are coming up. I have no right to tell you who you are supposed to love or how you should feel but as the commander of Night Raid, all I ask is that you make sure this doesn't mess with the job and I ask the same to you Sayo but as a friend, I also ask that you two don't fight over this and try to find a way to deal with this in a civil manner." Both girls nodded and agreed. "Good then how about we call it a night and we can talk about this more in the morning." The girls nodded and left the kitchen as Najenda left she wondered. 'Where did Bulat and Tatsumi go?'

"WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?" asked Tatsumi as he rolled on the ground of the outside training area.

Bulat couldn't help but give a hardy laugh. "As funny as this is, you should probably keep it down or else you'll wake everyone up."

Tatsumi looked up at Bulat with tears in his eyes. "You got help me out man, what do I do?"

Bulat smiled. "Well you could always come over to my side, I'll treat you right." as flowers appeared around him only for them to wilt as Tatsumi brought out several nen scales. "I'm kidding, but in all seriousness, I don't know if I can help you out too much. Even though one day I do wish to find my dream man, I don't have too much experience with romance, and I've never had two guys who liked me at the same time before. So the most I can say is follow your heart and let it guide you on your journey of love."

Tatsumi gave Bulat a deadpan stare. "Really is that the best you got?"

"Okay then how about this, don't fuck up or else you will have a girl that has a one kill sword and a girl who can shot arrows faster than a machine gun on your ass." said Bulat giving Tatsumi haunting images of both Akame and Sayo coming after him.

"I'll do one better." they both turned to see Najenda walking towards them. "You break either of their hearts and I don't care how much stronger you are. I will find a way to shove my metal fist up your ass." as she covered her fist in Nen to prove the point.

Tatsumi liked his odds of fighting Najenda but couldn't deny he was somewhat scared. 'Yep master was right, nothing is more scary than a pissed off woman.'

"Though I do have a question for you Tatsumi," she said in a calm voice getting the boy's attention. "You said Nen can do all sorts of stuff, manipulate the body and mind, correct, do you have any abilities like that?"

Tatsumi was a little surprised by the question. "No, I don't really have anything like that. My master wanted me to have an ability like that, mainly because he's paranoid and doesn't have a lot of trust, but I refused. I wanted my ability to allow me to have the most flexibility in and out of combat. That's why I chose Hexeyed scales when I found out I was a Transmuter."

"Hexeyed?"

"Hexeyed are a rare form of dragons, that are nomadic and hard to find. My master liked the idea and helped me capture a few. Basicly the reason the Hexeyed are so hard to capture is because their scales have a bit of a hexagon shape to them allows them to morph their scales to their environment, but what stands them apart from other similar species is that these scales are immune to intense heat, electricity, and waterproof. In a nutshell I'm able to use those scales to form different shapes and sizes, I'm also able to use them for blacksmithing as well, they're really handy if I need a specific tool that I don't have on hand. I wanted to focus on them mainly and my special tool belt I can conjure to hold several items at once, so I don't really have anything that allows me to manipulate others."

Najenda accepted it as it fit Tatsumi. "I see, sorry then."

"No worries, I won't lie, there are several people out there who are more than willing to use Nen for terrible things. So I don't blame you for thinking I may have used something like that on Akame. Trust me I'm just as surprised as you that two girls like me at the sametime." said Tatsumi.

Bulat and Najenda look at each other before looking at Tatsumi. "It's late, how about we all go to bed." Tatsumi nodded and decided to forget the bath and just go straight to bed.

Bulat stayed back with Najenda for a moment. "He does realize that Mine and Leone like him as well, right?"

"This could be a mess." said Najenda as she thought of all the chaos with the girls going after him. "I hope we win before they rip each other apart."

Unbeknownst to the two one girl had heard and seen everything.
