"Midoriya Izuku, you had been declared missing on April 15th. You have been missing and presumed dead for 5 months, kid".
"What?"
Izuku gulped, his eyes wide in shock. He had been missing?! For five months?! He glanced at his mother for a moment, noting the lingering sadness in her eyes, before looking back at the officer. 'No, this isn't just time travel like Shoto and I previously thought. It's like we jumped through dimensions into an alternate universe. Our knowledge might not be correct in some cases'.
His eyes were drawn to Inko as she sniffled a little. "You were last seen rescuing Katsuki from the sludge villain. After that, you disappeared", Inko said sadly.
From there the first officer picked up. "You were reported as a missing person on the wee hours of April 19th. I am Officer Sansa, the leader of search that was conducted across Musutafu for the next three days. You had disappeared without a trace. A... camera recording from Aldera was investigated from April 18th", he stopped sneaking a glance at Inko. He shivered remembering the furious screaming at the police station after the recording had been viewed. Izuku didn't miss the flash of unkempt anger which flashed in his mother's eyes. "'If you want to be a hero so badly, you have a way. Take a swan dive off the roof hoping that you will get a quirk in your next life'", he paused, waiting for Izuku to recognize the words. A flash of realization passed in the boy's eyes, before it turned into a glare. The air shifted causing Sansa gulped in fear under the intense stare.
"What did you do to Kacchan?", Izuku hissed in anger. Sansa looked at his partner, before looking at Inko. The three of them hadn't missed the protective edge to his voice.
"W-Well, you don't n-need to worry about him, we-", Sansa's partner was cutoff as Izuku's glare bored into his soul now.
"I won't ask again, officer. What. did. you. do. to. Kacchan?"
"I filed a case of suicide-baiting, quirk discrimination, and attempt to murder with unlicensed quirk use multiple times", Inko responded stonily. "Katsuki deserved that after what he did".
Izuku pinched the bridge of his nose. 'Kami! Things are worse than I previously thought'.
"He was tried in a juvenile court, before being sentenced to eight months of juvie", Sansa added, quite surprised by the worry in the boy's eyes.
Izuku didn't miss the tight tone in which Sansa spoke. "You aren't telling the entire truth, Sansa-san, are you?"
The officer shifted uneasily. 'Does he have a lie detector quirk like Naomasa? He was surely listed quirkless'."He won't be allowed to take any entrances for any of the hero courses ever". Sansa watched quietly as Izuku leaned back into the couch, the look in his eyes definitely signaling that the boy's brain was running for something.
"I.. I see, Sansa-san. Thank you for informing me", Izuku responded, still in shock at the revelation of what happened to Katsuki. "Where is he being held now?"
Inko looked at her son worriedly. She didn't understand why Izuku cared for Katsuki so much. That boy had baited him into committing suicide, bullied him relentlessly, always looked down on Izuku for his quirklessness.
"The Tartarus Juvenile Prison", Sansa responded. He felt unnerved by the green eyes staring into his yellow ones. Before Izuku could respond with something, his partner held up his hand to stop.
"We aren't here to discuss what happened with Bakugou Katsuki, Sansa", he stated in irritation, before looking at Izuku. "I am officer Gori. Do you where you were for the past five months, Midoriya Izuku?"
Izuku contemplated on going back to the previous topic, but the stern look from Gori wasn't helpinig him. "I don't remember", he answered with a sigh. "I-I do remember the sludge villain taking Kacchan hostage, and All Might coming in and saving me. I left the scene after Death Arms scolded me for my idiocy. I-I don't know anything after that. I woke up a few hours ago on the banks of the Naka river about a mile from here".
Gori looked at the boy for any signs of deception. A few moments passed in silence, Gori nodded. "All right, we will leave for now... But, you will have to come to the police station to record your statement. I believe it can be done day after tomorrow. There will be a more in depth interrogation along with a co-worker of ours to help us with a few things", Sansa said as he stood up, before turning to Inko. "If you need something, please free to call us".
Gori nodded at Inko, before walking out of the apartment. He caught Sansa eyes, and nodded slowly at the question. The boy had been kidnapped by the villains. And had been possibly tortured to the point that his brain had forcefully repressed the memories.
Izuku fidgeted sitting across his mother, not exactly knowing how to start his conversation. Inko was going through the same dilemma. Inko didn't know what to start the conversation with, which didn't refer to his time held in captivity, while Izuku wasn't sure how to avoid the potential ticking bomb related to Katsuki. He had never seen his mother so pissed off.
"You have grown", Inko said as she indicated to Izuku's muscles. Izuku looked down, frowning as he hadn't noticed that. They weren't as built as he had in the future, but they were more well built than what he had back in the at that time.
"Yeah", Izuku murmured in a low voice, quickly trying to cover the scar which went horizontally against his right hand, the one he received because of the surgery after the Sports Festival. 'Crap! How did Shoto and I not notice my scar? I may have a hard time explaining this. I need to call Shoto as soon as possible or we are doomed'.
Inko nodded slowly before wiping the tears away. She didn't know where Izuku had been held for the past five months, but she knew for a fact that Izuku had suffered a lot. Even if the officers didn't tell her, she knew that Izuku had been kidnapped by villains.
"I..uh... I am glad you're back Izuku", Inko murmured quietly and hugged her son. Nothing mattered her more in this moment, than her son being in her arms again. Izuku awkwardly put his hands around his mother, and hugged her back.
I am not the Izuku you know, Mom. Izuku thought to himself quietly. He and Shoto were in an alternate reality, not back in time. A reality where Midoriya Izuku was..no is still missing, and Kacchan received a horrible reality check.
"Izuku.. why don't you watch some tv while I make some really good katsudon for you?", Inko asked with a large smile on her face. Izuku nodded slowly, and watched Inko happily walk away to make Izuku's favorite dish once again.
Izuku flopped on the couch, quietly taking out his mobile phone, tapping on Shoto's contact number and typing in a quick message.
IM : Sho, I have been missing for five months, and Kaachan's in Tartarus Juvie.
Izuku didn't have to wait for long. He could picture Shoto's shocked face by reading the reply.
ST : You have been what? And WHY is Katsuki in Tartarus?
ST : Ah! Dammit! When do we meet up again? I am pretty sure you won't be able to come around for a long time.
IM : I will inform you. We need to keep the Eri plan on hold for now.
IM : Track Touya down.
ST : ...Understood.
