Chapter 2

Concerned, that was probably the best word to describe how Anne Shelly a maid of the Claes family, she the daughter of the house Katarina Claes personal maid if you wanted to be specific, had been feeling ever since her mistress had woke up after hitting her head she had been acting quite strangely, yesterday she had gone off somewhere and hadn't come back until sunset looking very happy and this morning she had politely asked Anne, not demanded asked and politely asked at that, to brew her a pot of her favourite tea, along with some sweets.

Anne had done as ordered, but had ordered Audino to hide the second cup, she wanted to see what would happen if she turned up one cup short and to her surprise Lady Katarina had politely asked her to get the other cup to which Audino handed her the cup to which Lady Katarina happily thanked her for.

After that Katarina politely asked Anne if she could wait outside her room while she did something private and to let her know if her mother or father were approaching, Anne of course obliged but she was still worried.

''Audino, listen in would you'' Anne ordered, her pokemon companion nodded and flapped its ears to indicate that she was listening.

Inside the room Katarina had called Ralts out and was pouring the two of them cups of tea ''I hope you like this, it's my favourite kind of tea, be careful though it's hot'' Ralts took one of the cups and after blowing on it a few times drank from it, to Katarina's delight Ralts loved it, the two had a great time drinking tea and eating sweets, but eventually the two had to get down to business.

''Alright Ralts from this day forwards we need to start training and building up our team'' stated Katarina, Ralts nodded ''that's probably the best way to avoid my doom'' that alarmed Ralts ''don't worry Ralts that's not coming for a long time and we might be able to avoid the bad endings altogether!'' Ralts nodded determined ''now there's a lot to plan around''

After coming back from catching Ralts and vaguely answering questions about where she had been Katarina had gone to the Claes library to see what other pokemon she could find in Sorcier and found a big heavy book called 'The World Encyclopaedia of Pokemon' and while she hadn't finished the book it told her that their were several pokemon that either didn't exist in this world or they didn't know about for example they knew about Feebas, Seadra, Karrablast and Shelmet but they didn't know about Milotic, Kingdra, Escavalier and Accelgor.

Now that wasn't to say Sorcier didn't know about any of the pokemon you acquired through trade in the games like Gengar and Golem but it seemed like they now evolved the normal way, but that wasn't the only thing Katarina came across the other thing she found out about was something called Terastal.

Terastal seemed to be the equivalent of magic in this world, it was apparently a power that Nobles and a few commoners had that gave pokemon crowns which allowed them to shine like gems and would change the type of their pokemon, Noble kids were tested when they turned thirteen, which was when they would gain this power, to see if they had could Terastalize their pokemon and if they could what their Tera Type was, Katarina hadn't been tested yet but since the game Katarina had magic she was certain she could Terastalize she just didn't know what type she would have, but that was something she could focus on later.

''Since your a Psychic Fairy type that means you've got a weakness to Ghost, Poison and Steel types, so it would be best for us to get a Ghost, Dark, Ground, Fighting or Fire type, but that would also mean making up for their weaknesses'' stated Katarina, to which Ralts nodded ''so what kinds of Pokemon should we get? A grass type might be a good option but I'd have to learn to take care of one- oh, I just had a great idea! I'm going to go and start my plan Ralts, talk later ok'' Ralts nodded and Katarina rushed out of her room to carry out her plan,

''Audino did you hear anything out of the odd when you were listening in?'' Anne asked, Audino thought for a moment before shaking her head, other than one word but other than that everything sounded normal to her so she nodded, Anne sighed in relief and started to follow her charge with Audino beside her.

''Audino are you sure you heard nothing out of the ordinary?'' Anne asked as she and Audino watched Lady Katarina dressed as a farmer hoeing a patch of earth, Audino again shook her head confused, Anne just sighed ''I see'' she then stepped forward ''Lady Katarina what in the world are you doing?''

''I'm training Anne'' stated Katarina.

''Training?'' Anne asked and Audino tilted her head in confusion ''I'm sorry, but I don't really understand how this is training''

''This training will help me learn how to raise a grass type and should help me to train a ground type if I get one'' Katarina explained, before giving a little pray as she remembered her grandmother from her last life.

Anne meanwhile just watched her dully ''I'm not sure if that's how it works Lady Katarina'' she said deadpanned with Audino face palming, before they both straightened up ''ah, but this is important Prince Gerald is here to see you''

''What!'' Katarina exclaimed ''but why?''

''He's here to officially propose to you of course'' said Anne.

''Oh, oh right'' said Katarina, she forgot about that, Anne quickly grabbed her by the arm.

''We need to hurry and get you ready'' she said hurriedly.

But before either of them could move they heard footsteps coming from behind them, they turned to see Prince Gerald accompanied by his Eevee and his manservant who didn't have a Pokemon with him, he was also accompanied by her father and his Rhyperior and his Copperajah, her mother was with just her Salamance since her Seadra was confined to water

and their head maid Joana with her female Indeedee, her father chuckled to himself looking slightly embarrassed while her mother fainted and Joana had to catch her, while Salamance glared at Katarina with intimidate ability causing her to jump as Prince Gerald approached her.

''Good Mourning, Lady Katarina'' he greeted a bit shakily, he clearly wasn't expecting this.

''Good Mourning, Prince Gerald'' Katarina returned ''I'm sorry that you had to come out here''

''Oh that's alright, so what are you doing out here?'' Gerald asked.

''I'm training'' Katarina answered.

''Training?'' Gerald asked.

''Yes, starting a farm should teach me how to look after a grass type and it should also teach me how to look after a ground type if I get either one of those'' said Katarina, which caused Gerald to put a hand to his mouth which scared Katarina for a moment.

''Ah that's an interesting way to look at this Katarina'' Duke Claes.

''I agree, thats such a unique way to prepare for a grass and ground type'' said Gerald with a smile ''but aren't you worried about bug types?''

''I don't mind bug types, I actually like a few of them'' said Katarina with a shrug, before looking down as she felt something rubbing up against her leg, it was Gerald Eevee who was nuzzling up against her leg ''oh hello there, sorry I didn't greet you did I?'' Katarina cooed petting the small fluffy Pokemon which caused Eevee to start nuzzling into Katarina's hand ''oh your such a cute fluffy little Pokemon aren't you'' she was so focused on petting Eevee she didn't hear what Gerald said.

''Miss Katarina?''

''Oh yes'' said Katrina, Gerald then took her hand and kissed it, Katarina froze as she realised what just happened as Gerald smiled looking very happy, his Eeevee cheered looking just as happy as its trainer was, while the maids around them congratulated them and Duke Claes cried happily.

Later Katarina was sat having a late night tea with Ralts, she had a forlorn look on her face, Ralts could sense her emotions and took her hand to try and comfort her ''oh don't worry Ralts I'm ok'' said Katrina, but Ralts didn't look too convinced ''oh right you can sense emotions, sorry I'm just a little worried and I'm just thinking some things over, we're going to have to work harder than we did before'' Ralts gave a small cry looking determined ''thanks Ralts I'm glad I can count on you''

Suddenly there was a knock at the door ''Lady Katarina, your father would like to speak to you'' said Anne from the other side, Katarina returned Ralts to her ball before giving the go ahead.

''Is everything alright Katarina?'' Her father asked concerned ''Anne told me you were having her stand guard outside to tell you if anyone wanted to come in''

''Oh I'm sorry father, I was just having… me time?'' Katarina said hesitantly, Ralts was her advantage and she didn't want anyone to know about Ralts yet ''and I didn't want anyone to interrupt''

''Well as long as your happy Katarina'' said Duke Claes ''anyways I've got some big news, since your going to be married that will leave us without and heir since your marriage will make you a Princess, so I decided that I would adopt someone from a distant family to act as our new heir, so Katarina I'd like you to meet your new younger brother'' a boy was then ushered into the room, he looked a lot like her farther, with the same hair and eye colour ''Katarina this is Keith he'll be your new little brother so please be kind to him''

''I-It's nice to meet you'' he stuttered.

''Y-you too'' Katarina replied.

''Alright, well he's had a long trip here, you can meet him more tomorrow Katarina'' said Duke Claes before guiding Keith out of the room.

Afterwards Katarina resumed her secret tea party with Ralts ''what do I do?'' Katarina asked with her head in her hands, Ralts petted her shoulder she could feel how uneasy her trainer felt and then hugged her ''thanks Ralts'' Katarina hugged her back before something struck her ''wait you've just given me an idea, thank you Ralts'' Ralts smiled she could feel Katarina starting to ease, she just hoped everything would work out ok.

The next day Katarina burst into Keith's room, Ralts had given her the idea to lavish Keith and show him love and affection like he had never seen before, it was the perfect plan besides she always wanted a little brother and Keith's fate in the game was just too cruel ''hey Keith it's a beautiful day why don't I show you around'' she said.

''T-Thank you, Miss Katarina'' Keith stuttered.

''Keith we're slibilings now call me Katarina or Kat or sister or big sister or something'' said Katarina ''whatever your comfortable with''

''Y-your sure?'' Keith nervously asked.

''Of course we're family now'' said Katarina ''I don't mind besides I've always wanted a little brother so I insist''

''A-alright sister'' said Keith which made Katarina beam brightly.

Katarina then proceeded to show him around the manor, she did this really quickly because she really wanted to show him around outside, she started with the training fields, it was where her, or their now, mother and father trainer there Pokemon, Keith looked around in amazement, Katarina then took him to her garden which was placed quite close to Tom the Gardeners.

''These are eggplants, those are tomatoes and I also set up some posts for berries, there are Oran Berries, Sitrus Berries, Pecha Berries and Tamato Berries'' explained Katarina.

''Wow and your the one who tends to this garden?'' Keith asked pointing at Katarina's space.

''Yeah I am, I'll let you have some when they're grown'' said Katrina with a smile.

She then took Keith to the creek, the two could see there reflections in the crystal clear water ''fish and water type Pokemon live in this creek, you can even fish in it'' Katarina explained.

''Really you fish?'' Keith asked amazed.

''Sure do, just haven't caught anything I want to keep yet'' stated Katarina ''now come on little brother, I'll take you to my favourite place on the estate'' she then pulled Keith to the large tree in the garden ''the view from the top is amazing!''

''So you also climb trees?'' Keith asked amazed.

''Sure do, have you ever climbed one?'' Katarina asked, when Keith shook his head Katarina smiled ''then I'll show you how'' Katarina then started to climb up the tree, which was easy considering how much she loved to climb trees in her last life, but then after she thought she saw something she slipped and fell and landed on something… soft? Looking down Katarina saw she landed on Keith ''No! Please don't die! I just got a cute little brother and he's gone, oh why did I have to kill you with my butt!''

''S-sister?'' A meek voice asked, Katarina looked down and saw it was Keith who was in fact alive.

''Oh, your alright thank goodness!'' Katarina cried hugging him.

The next day Prince Gerald came to see her, apparently he had heard that she fell from a tree and had come to see if she was alright, she was of course so the two ended up having tea together, Geralds Eevee was rather exited to see her weaving between her feet like an affectionate cat, it was currently sat in Gerald lap who was taking a sip of tea.

''I was so surprised to hear that you fell from a tree, but I'm also happy to see that your alright'' said Gerald.

''I wasn't hurt because I landed on Keith'' said Katarina sorrowfully ''he only had minor bruises, but I feel terrible for it and I'm usually good at climbing, mother was very angry at me''

''Speaking of, your parents seem more affectionate since the last time I saw them'' said Gerald.

''Oh yeah, that happened because of a little confusion, you see mother thought Keith was fathers illegitimate child and the two nearly got a divorce, but me and Keith straightened out the story and father talked to her and now the two are very lovey-dovey with each other'' explained Katarina.

''I see, that's good to hear'' said Gerald with a small chuckle.

''So how have you and Eevee been?'' Katarina asked.

''Well I've had a lot on our mind lately'' stated Gerald.

''Oh how come?'' Katarina asked.

''My Eeveelution ceremony maybe coming up soon'' said Gerald ''during my birthday and I'm not sure what to evolve Eevee into''

''Hmm that is a tough decision'' said Katarina.

''Yes, I'm not sure if I want to evolve Eevee into a Jolteon or a Flareon, what do you think Katarina?'' Gerald asked.

''Hmm, well if it was me, I'd let Eevee decide'' said Katarina.

''Eevee decide?'' Gerald asked.

''Yeah, I mean Eevee is going to be the one who's going to be stuck in this form, so I'd like to let him choose'' said Katarina.

''Hmm, how would you do that?'' Gerald asked.

''I guess I'd show Eevee all the forms and ask which one he liked the best'' said Katarina.

''Thank you Katarina, now I know what I'm going to do'' said Gerald.

''I'm happy to help'' replied Katarina.

Later on Katarina and Keith were walking through the garden after having watched their parents do a training session with their Pokemon, this was something Noble Parents also did with their children to try and teach them some methods of raising and training Pokemon.

''Wow that was amazing, Mother and Father have really impressive Pokemon don't they'' said Katarina to which Keith nodded ''by the way Keith do you have any Pokemon?''

Keith froze when she said that ''u-umm, w-well I do have a Golett'' he said softly.

''Really?'' Katarina asked excitedly ''can you show me?''

''Umm, I really shouldn't'' said Keith, but Katarina was giving him the biggest puppy dog eyes she could, so he pulled out an Ultra Ball and gently threw it, but Ball released a burst of light which dispersed revealing the Golett.

''Wow, that is so cool!'' Katarina cheered going up to the Pokemon.

''Sister, be careful around Golett!'' Keith cried, holding up the ball to try and return it, but before he could Golett jetted forwards to Shadow Punch Katarina, fortunately Katarina managed to dodge by a hair and fell back on her butt looking at Golett scared ''Sister careful, it's currently in a berserk state!'' Keith then tried to return Golett again, but he missed again, because Golett jetted forwards to try and Shadow Punch Katarina again, but Katarina managed to dodge again, getting to her feet Katarina began to run off with Golett following her, Keith turned back and ran towards the house to get his mother or father or possibly one of the servants, ideally the Head Maid Joana.

When she was sure she was a fair enough distance from Keith Katarina pulled out Ralt's Luxury Ball, she wasn't sure if Ralts could beat Golett but it was better than doing nothing, she threw the ball and in a burst of light Ralts appeared ''Ralts no time to explain the situation, get ready we need to battle something'' Katarina said quickly and as she finished saying that Golett burst through a bush in front of them, Ralts quickly got in front of Katarina protectively ready for battle.

Golett jetted forwards with Shadow Punch before Katarina could give an order, but Ralts acted quickly and teleported both of them out of the way before Golett could strike ''good thinking Ralts'' said Katarina ''now use confusion!'' Ralts then fired a ray of blue light which hit Golett in the back caught by surprise the attack knocked Golett over, but Golett quickly pushed itself back to its feet.

''Good work Ralts now surround it with Double Team!'' Katarina ordered, Ralts quickly did as ordered and surrounded Golett with doubles of itself, Katarina smiled it looked like this was going to go like it did with Mightyena, she was about to ordered Ralts to attack when Golett started stomping on the ground, Katarina's eyes widened as she realised what it was doing ''Ralts quick use Teleport and get out of there!'' Ralts did as ordered and Teleported to the side just as several stones flew from the ground which hit all of Ralts Double Team dispersing them.

'So it knows Stomping Tantrum that's just wonderful' Katarina thought to herself ''alright Ralts change of plans Teleport around it and use confusion''

Ralts quickly went to work Teleporting around blasting Golett with blue beams of light, Golett meanwhile formed Shadow Balls in its hands and tried to fire it at Ralts, but Ralts disappeared with Teleport before the attack could connect and kept hitting Golett over and over again with Golett taking significant damage, Katarina was worried that Golett would rebound, but eventually Golett collapsed defeated.

''Alright, you did it Ralts'' Katarina cheered, with Ralts sharing her trainers exitement.

''Katarina! Where are you!''

Hearing her father calling out to her, Katarina quickly returned Ralts to her Ball and called back ''I'm over here!'' Soon enough Katarina heard the rustling of bushes and soon enough her mother and father along with Keith, Anne and Joana, came out of the bushes with there Pokemon ready for battle only to look stunned when they saw Golett laid on the ground unconscious.

''K-Katarina did you do that?'' Duke Claes asked stunned.

''Huh, oh yes father I defeated Golett'' said Katarina quickly.

''How?'' Duchess Claes asked with a raised brow.

''I-I'm sorry mother, I'm not sure what you mean'' Katarina said shakily.

''How did you defeat it, it's a relatively strong Pokemon and you do not have a Pokemon, so how did you defeat it?'' Duchess Claes asked.

Katarina gulped she had no idea what to say to get out of this one, but thankfully she didn't need to say anything because her father spoke up and said ''I don't really think that matters at the moment Milidiana, Katarina's just went through a rather harrowing experience and us interrogating her is not going to help her''

''Yes, your right of course dear'' said Duchess Claes before kneeling down and hugging her daughter ''I'm sorry dear, I'm just glad your alright, your not hurt anywhere are you?''

''No mother, I'm alright Golett didn't manage to hit me'' said Katarina.

Keith then stepped forwards and returned Golett before turning to Katarina teary eyed ''I-I-I'm sorry, I-I'LL stay away from now on'' said Keith, but before he could do anything else Katarina hugged him.

''It's alright Keith it wasn't your fault, I was the one who pushed you into calling Golett out, this is all my fault'' said Katarina.

''It's also my fault'' said Duke Claes ''I should have told Katarina about your Golett and how it's been in a berserk state for a while''

''B-But I should stay away, Golett hurt my brothers and could have hurt you too!'' Keith sobbed ''I should stay away from as many people as possible because all I do is hurt people!''

''Then instead of isolating yourself you need to start training to control Golett, I think Golett thinks everyone wants to hurt you so that's why it acts out to stop people before they hurt you, you need to teach Golett that not everyone going to hurt you'' said Katarina ''and you've seen how good mother and father at training their Pokemon and I'll help anyway I can too, I know they'll be able to help you in no time and soon enough you, me and Golett will be able to be together without a problem and I'll always be their for you Keith I promise''

With that Keith started to sob but Katarina could tell that they weren't sad sobs but more so happy ones, the dam of emotions he had been holding in had burst and he needed to let it all out, she gave him another hug which Duke and Duchess Claes joined her in hugging Keith tight while Anne and Joana, as well as the Pokemon smiled and watched the scene happily knowing that the Claes Duchy was in for a much brighter future.

There are going to be some what I hope are significant changes, the the whole Terastal thing, hope you didn't mind that, and I may give some of the cast different pokemon types, for example I'm thinking of making Gerald an electric type user in this fic, not sure yet though and the cast will have some different Pokemon, though there are going to be some things that stay the same.

You may have noticed Katarina didn't catch anything this chapter, that's because I don't really know what pokemon to give her I'm definitely going to give her Gourgiest and the Pochi reference, I know I said she is meant to be Diantha in this fic but I'm not sure how much of her team I want to give her, because yeah it is one of the weakest champion teams, so I'm hoping to fix it up and give her a better team, there are definitely pokemon I like on it but overall not that good you could likely beat it with types of pokemon, down bellow I've listed a few I thought of giving her tell me what you think and if their are any I missed I was trying to think of Pokemon that truly fit Katarina.

Nidoqueen, Rapidash, Lapras, Tyranitar, Miltoic, Lopunny, Serperior, Mienshao, Haxorus, Aegislash, one of the Kalos fossil Pokemon, Morpeko or waiting and give her a Pokemon from generation 9 this includes regional forms.
