So… I got a review and a couple of messages asking me to continue this. I've written a chapter below, but I'm unsure whether I should continue with it. Let me know what you guys think? Remember I've bsed this off the TV show more than the books as it's been a while since I read them, and I've watched the TV show about 7 times through…

Another quick note, the characters are aged up to 18 (Lucy) and 19 (Lockwood and George). It's kinda weird otherwise…

Enjoy!

Chapter 2

The cab ride was awkward, I could feel Lockwood's fingers brushing mine every now and then on the seat between us, but the cab driver kept looking back at us through the rear view mirror, so we stayed silent. I turned to look at him, but he was already looking at me. I smiled shyly at him, and he smirked back and shot a look to the cab driver, before he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to my lips. I leaned in and allowed the kiss to linger, stopping myself from following him when he pulled away. The driver cleared his throat loudly and Lockwood rolled his eyes, before pulling back

"Rude" He mumbled under his breath and I held in a chuckle

"Only a little" I whispered back and he sent me the smile. You know, the smile that makes his whole face light up? That makes my stomach turn in the most pleasant way? That smile.

As soon as we were out of the cab he grabbed my hand and took off running, pretty much dragging me behind him. I noticed Flo and George up ahead and I was surprised that he kept hold of my hand, even as he slowed us to a walking pace as we got closer

"Look at the smile on him, this won't end well" I heard Flo say, and I flushed. Was he smiling because of me?

"You're late" George accused

"Sorry, things got a bit… Weird" I shot a look at Lockwood, and he just winked at me. I felt myself flush, so I was grateful for the dark cover of night. But the suspicious look Flo shot us told me that we weren't exactly being subtle

"Did you get Dulac's book?" George asked and Lockwood answered before I could

"Yeah, of course we did. Now, what's the plan?" He asked, his hand slipping from mine, and coming around to sit quite low on my back, deepening my blush. God damn it, Lockwood. Everyone would know. Were we telling people? Did he want to keep it a secret? Did I want to keep it a secret? I wasn't sure. We really needed to talk after all of this.

Flo explained the plan and led us to her boat; a little Pontoon on the river. It was cute if I was being honest, but I'd never tell her that, I had this intense feeling that she didn't like me

"Why were you holding hands with Lockwood?" George asked me quietly after we had set off. I looked to see Flo and Lockwood in the cab of the boat, going over a map. He looked up and caught my eye. He smiled then looked back at the map

"What do you mean?" I asked, turning my attention back to George

"Come on, Lucy" He rolled his eyes "I'm not blind, but the looks you're giving each other makes me wish I was" He grumbled

"Just… It's nothing… We kissed-"

"You what?!" George shouted, grabbing the attention of the other 2 occupants of the boat

"George" I hissed and whacked his arm, avoiding looking into the boat cab "It was a plan, we were trapped in the Black Library and we needed a way to get out wth no weapons" I rushed

"And kissing was the right way to go about that, yeah?" George was looking at me like I was mad

"We pretended to be a couple of teenagers finding somewhere quiet" I covered my face. Saying it out loud made me feel so stupid! I should have just gone along with whatever cock-and-bull plan Lockwood would have come up with

"And it was a genius plan" I almost cried when Lockwood piped up. We hadn't heard him approach "The guy had a golden rapier and it looked bloody sharp. I doubt we would have made it out without a fight otherwise" Lockwood sat down opposite me and George, so I peeked through my fingers to see him smirking at me. I pulled my hands down and composed myself. I wasn't some wishy-washy girl chasing after a boy. I was an agent for Christ sake!

"It worked. That's all that matters. Now what's the plan when we get in?" I asked, just as the boat started to slow

"Wait, this is it? It looks deserted" George frowned up at the abandoned looking building across the water. He was right, it looked almost derelict!

"That gangway will take you to the back of Fothergill's" Flow emerged from the helm and started tying the boat to the dock so we could get out safely "There's no entrance from the street, but there's a hatch into the basement. It's unlocked. I've made sure" She eyed us all separately, her gaze turning slightly suspicious when it got me to "Get in. Get out. Get back"

She was right; The hatch was unlocked. I felt bad for George having to stay back, but Flo needed an extra set of hands, and we all knew it would have to be him… It always was, and I felt awful. I vowed to myself to be the one to stay back next time

"Come on" Lockwood hissed and I realised that I had been standing there while he got the equipment into the basement. I took his outstretched hand and he helped me in. Good job he did, because my boot got caught on the hatch door as I stepped inside and he was there to catch me as I fell

"Sorry" I grumbled and looked back towards the door with a hate-filled glare, as if it was the doors fault, and not my incredibly clumsy self

"You sure you didn't do it on purpose?" He asked, and my head flew around to look at him

"What?" I frowned and he looked down between us. I followed his gaze and saw that we were flush against each other, my hands on his chest to brace myself, his gripping tightly at my waist. I shoved him away and scoffed

"Don't flatter yourself" I rolled my eyes and turned away from him to close the hatch door "We have a job to do" I reminded him and he let out a hum

"Well… You didn't actually have to kiss me earlier" He commented and I sighed and turned to face him

"What do you mean?" I crossed my arms across my chest

"We could have faked it. We didn't actually have to kiss" He shrugged and started pulling our gear out of the bag George had brought. I was struck with absolute mortification. We really didn't have to kiss… Moreover, I didn't have to kiss him. I had basically forced him into it

"I was going for authenticity in case he'd come around the corner… And you didn't have to kiss me back like that" I huffed

"Like what?" I could hear the smirk in his voice and it made my blood boil. He was taking the piss!

"Like you couldn't get enough of me" I growled and he paused for a split second

"Now who's flattering themselves?" He scoffed, but I knew I'd hit a cord

"The way you lifted me up against that bookcase, says otherwise" I smirked, taking the belt he handed me, but not putting it on just yet

"You're tiny. I wasn't going to inconvenience myself to go along with your plan" His voice was hard as stone and I held in my laughter as he held out my rapier to me

"You couldn't keep your hands off me, Lockwood" I reached out for it, but he didn't let me have it, instead, it fell to the floor with a loud clatter and I found myself pinned against a support pillar while he loomed over me, my gear belt falling to join my rapier on the floor

"You think you have me all figured out" He hissed and I relished in his soft breath washing over me

"Oh, I do. You don't scare me, Anthony" I smirked, and he groaned, before latching his lips to mine and pushing me roughly against the pillar

"Push me some more, I dare you" He growled against my lips and I felt my heart race at the challenge. I pushed him back so our lips parted, then attached myself to his neck. I relished when he let out a strained groan and one of his hands left my waist and smacked against the wall beside my head

"See, you can't help yourself" I chuckled against his skin and he tensed up. I thought I was winning, until I heard the voices on the other side of the door.

We made quick eye contact, then we were moving all of our equipment to the other side of the room, putting on our belts as we went, making sure we were ready and had our rapiers to hand. We hid behind a pillar and a barrel just as the door opened. I crouched down next to Lockwood, using his leg to steady myself

"Luce" I heard him hiss through gritted teeth. I looked up at him and he had his head back against the pillar, his eyes squeezed shut. I frowned, then realised where my hand was; dangerously high on his thigh. Oh! I moved my hand slowly towards his inner thigh and he jumped, then looked down at me in disbelief, so I smirked up at him. Oh how the tables have turned. This time I couldn't keep my hands off of him, despite the precarious situation we were in. His hand flew down and covered mine, stopping any further movements it would make.

"Give me a second" We were pulled out of our little moment by a gruff voice coughing

"On the other side of that door, there's about 30 blokes who'll kill you" I looked to Lockwood in shock. Was he talking to us?

"2 sets of footsteps and I caught a glance of a rapier back there" Yep. He was talking to us. I looked down to see that my rapier was indeed sticking out "You've got 3 seconds to come out" Lockwood took a deep breath, then pulled me to stand by the hand he was still covering. He walked us out from behind the pillar to meet the man who had outed us "Jesus, you're just kids" He grumbled

"Actually we're not kids. We're DEPRAC Agents, as I assume, are you" Lockwood took a step in front of me, taking over his leadership role, and I let him. If I had been paying more attention, he might not have even known we were here. Instead, I was focused on riling up my bloody Boss!

So I am trying to focus primarily on Lucy and Lockwood, and I wasn't sure whether to just skip to after the whole thing with the Bone Glass, but I thought I'd add this little bit :)
