"What could be the cause of a massive mosquito outbreak plaguing our nation this year?" A man on the radio asked, "We'll ask Mr. Caff, a mosquito expert, who has written several books on this subject."
A new voice took over as the view shifted to a green elephant can, as it was being filled by the iconic Caped Baldy using his sink.
The mosquito made his entrance, "Thank you for having me today. These mosquitos belong to an entirely new species, therefore I honestly know nothing about them."
The owner responded harshly, "Oh, come on! What good are you?! Get em' off my show!" he faked a cough with his wrist and returned to his natural poster, "I mean how interesting, let's take a look at our map--"
"Man, City-Z is right in their path." The baldy interrupted, "Now we've got a mosquito plague to deal with?" he walked over to his cactus and crouched to water it.
The man on the news continued, "We interrupt this program with breaking news. A large swarm of mosquitoes has been sighted in City-Z, mummified remains of attacked farm animals have also been found. If you encounter a large swarm of mosquitos, it is strongly suggested that you flee immediately." throughout his message, the carcasses of farm animals were presented on screen, their lifeless bodies resting on the floor with their bones and flesh exposed.
Saitama poured his elephant canister over the small cactus, he wore a yellow shirt and green shorts, equipped with tan sandles. His eyes narrowed behind him from the sound of a mosquito, almost immediately after, Ben arrived behind the scene.
"Hey, Saitama? Did you listen to the news reporter about the mosquito outbreak?" He peered over to the balcony, and the man turned his head to face the teen.
"Yeah, I'm not trying to think too much of it, though. Just as long as it doesn't bother me, I'll be alright." He shifted his attention back to his cactus.
The Omnitrix wielder held an expression of boredom as he glanced down at the man, then snapped his fingers forward, catching the annoying mosquito mid-air.
"Thanks for that." The baldy replied, and the brunette could only sigh as he leaped off the balcony.
"While you're busy, I'll be handling this mosquito situation on my own, I'll meet you back when it's over."
The man paid no attention to his words, too busy focusing on watering the pot in front of him, "Alright, have fun, and don't get bit."
The teen merely rolled his eyes, pulling over his hood as he placed his hands within his pockets, and carefully listened to the atmosphere around him.
A swarm of mosquitoes flew from afar, thus grasping his attention, he followed the location of the road from there.
Never thought this would be my life someday.
"This is an emergency evacuation warning! Threat Level: Demon."
A dead crow lay on the concrete ground, its carcass revealed a fleshy back with plucked feathers surrounding it.
A shadow loomed over the bird, revealing it to be a 19-year-old boy, he had gorgeous blonde hair, the background of his eyes were painted pure black while displaying yellow irises. He seemed to be a cyborg, however, as shown from his cybernetic neck and arms, but he still wore a sleeveless white shirt, strong belt, blue jeans, and brown boots.
"No resident is to go outside under any circumstances!" The reporter called again, as the cyborg glanced at the mass of mosquitos from afar. "Please remain indoors! I repeat, no resident is going outside!"
The shadow loomed over the cyborg's face while his irises shined through.
"Target acquired." He murmured under a grim voice, glancing at the huge mass of mosquitos infiltrating the city.
Shattered glass echoed at a store, a man stepped through the entrance carrying an open crate of supplies, he turned out to be a robber.
"Thanks to that warning, they're all empty." He chuckled deeply.
He wore red shoes with white pants and a dark grey shirt, long, messy blonde hair ran down around his head with a dark blue winter hat situated on top, a smirk filled his face while wielding a crowbar over his left shoulder.
"Like someone is actually gonna die from a mosquito bite!"
He tilted his head to his right, staring at the gorgeous supplies he robbed.
"What's the harm in losing a little blood if I get to walk away with all of this?" Suddenly, a huge trail of mosquitos shook him as they flew through, knocking off his hat in the process.
He turned his head around and stared up to witness the hat being carried off through the sky.
"Was that the wind?" he asked no one, until the mass of mosquitos reappeared behind the man. They circled him, first starting off with his shoes and quickly making their way up to his full height.
"What the--?!" He choked, the swarm suffocated the robber as he desperately tried to swat them away, only to be covered in their grasp as he continued to yell in horror.
The mosquitoes swarmed his body, revealing only the robber's eyes and mouth as he screamed in agony, the pests quickly consuming his blood. As the swarm died down, they left nothing but a dried body of rotten skin attached to bones and clothes.
Up in the sky, a red hue could be faintly spotted within the swarm, and a humanoid figure floated inside. A woman with pale skin, crimson eyes, and bright armored clothing representing the design of a mosquito. She was covered in fancy black marks and lining, making up for her sleek design, along with other equipment such as a mosquito's tail just above the back of her waist, wings, mantis-like limbs, and what appeared to be a hat reminiscent of the latter's face.
She licked her lips from the taste, as her tail shined red, signaling the blood flow up her body. Once the swarm removed itself, she spoke up.
"Come on, that wasn't nearly enough blood to satisfy my needs." Her voice sounded feminine and vicious.
Lifting her head in glory, she made her next demand, "Now, go get some more for me..."
While staring at the lifeless sky, the woman failed to notice a familiar green pair of eyes, having witnessed the commotion. Her senses suddenly screamed, causing her expression to widen.
"Target has been acquired..." A dark, teenage voice called out as his cybernetic palm glowed a bright yellow. His blast struck her from behind, but not managing to fully strike her, seemingly only to catch her attention.
Mosquito Girl glared at the party crasher below with a dissatisfied facial expression, the cyborg carefully analyzing the situation in front of him.
"I see, you make the mosquitoes suck the blood..." He aimed his optics at the mummified corpse of the dead robber on the floor, "...and take it all for yourself... you must be controlling them using some sort of signal..."
The light now revealed his entire face up and front, he appeared oddly attractive, but obviously didn't seem pleased with the sight in front of him.
"That would explain their mysterious behavior. So if I were to get rid of you, their leader, would the swarm disperse as well?"
The woman merely giggled in delight, an evil smirk formed on her face, "Our next meal is here, go drain that bull dry..." she commanded, as her minions followed her bidding and chased after the blonde.
Before they could reach him though, a green light flashed before them all, "HEATBLAST!!!" and scorched the swarm with a single fireball. The cyborg turned around to spot the origin of the voice, but was surprised at what stood before him.
A bulky humanoid creature composed of cracked reddish-brown rocks with streams of plasma veins shining underneath, he had enlarged firey hands and bright feet ending in an oval-like shape with two toes, with one sharp pointy toe sticking out at the back. His head appeared to be made of nothing but large fire as the mask of a skull appeared through, a circular symbol with a steel grey outline and a green hourglass in the middle was placed on his chest.
The Pyronite's right arm stuck out straight with his palm wide open, leaving the blonde to stare in awe at the sight. He'd never seen a monster attack another member of its kind before, so he was unsure as to whether or not this was just an accident or if the fiery beast actually intended to help him.
"Sheesh, as if this day wasn't already a pain to deal with back home, now I gotta put up with this annoying chick."
The look over his face expressed his boredom, voice sounding like a man speaking through scorched vocals, but fueled from a mixture of gasoline and fire.
"I find it odd to see a monster attacking its own allies, care to elaborate as to why you're assisting me, creature?" The robotic teen asked, his left eyebrow raised in question.
The alien lowered his arm, placing his hands over his hips, shifting to a more relaxed tone.
"Just trying to get on with my day, had it not been for those buzzing piles of crap, I'd be feeling a lot cooler right now. Plus, I have no beef with innocent civilians. As such, it makes her my only problem."
Genos doubted it at first, but he could sense the walking campfire had no murderous intent to kill, which left him rather curious.
After all, every monster behaved relentlessly and acted without a second thought, not to mention their twisted biology. This creature was different in both anatomy and mindset.
"I have scanned your motives closely, and I can presume we're on equal terms when it comes to handling this threat, so I will allow you to join forces with me in order to eliminate it."
Heatblast nodded in approval, he knew the teen understood his goal, and he made a mental note not to screw anything up in the process.
The Celestialsapien amplification grew at a faster rate as he trained, pushing him beyond his limits, so he needed to adapt to it in order to avoid going overboard with his powers.
Mosquito Girl gasped at the sight in shock, not only were her minions burned to a crisp, but no less done by the hands of another monster!
The duo returned their attention to the hybrid, who only giggled at their serious expressions.
"You really think you can just kill off my little ones along with me so easily?" She relaxed her head on her shoulder. "Well then, GO ON AND FIGHT ME!!!"
The hotheaded duo sent another shot of fire at the women's direction, leaving behind a towering cloud of smoke hovering over the city.
Back on the bald hero's balcony, he finished watering his cactus and rose up to place his canister somewhere else, but not before his attention collected the sound of a loud blow to his west.
He could see smoke rising, far above all the houses in the city, remembering how the events originated with the news.
"Guess I could try and check it out." He set his canister down and placed his hands within his pockets, rolling over the edge of his balcony as he made his way towards the road heading down the dust cloud.
Heatblast propelled the cyborg at Mosquito Girl, who launched his fist forward but proved to be too slow, as the monster effortlessly dodged his blow and raised her arms to strike back. That was until she was rocketed upwards by the flaming fist of the Pyronite, who grabbed the teen by the leg midair and swung him towards her again.
The blonde caught the woman by the throat with his left hand and used his opposite to sucker punch her face, sending her downwards as his alien ally delivered an axe kick on her stomach right as she dropped in front of him, striking the ground as she recoiled and flew off until her legs were grabbed by the blonde.
She gritted her teeth and attempted to strike, forgetting about the flaming alien as he swatted her face, leaving a black burn mark on her cheek. With another blast, the teen catapulted himself forward and swung the girl onto the concrete pavement once again.
Before she could even think, Heatblast dropped mere inches away from her, and the shock bounced her off ground as she was grabbed by her face and thrown backwards onto the floor. The blonde teen landed on her chest with his elbow, causing her to lose her air from the combined forces of her natural enemy and what should've been her ally.
She could not recollect her thoughts as her arms were pulled by the alien behind her, lifting her off the ground before pushing her forward harshly and being upper cut by the cyborg, her front teeth cracked as blood spewed out.
The teen delivered a kick to her face, swinging her to her left as she could barely even contain her legs, only to then be struck by the Pyronite's fist as it knocked her over face-first onto the floor. The cyborg grabbed her legs and leaped off the ground, before tossing her down like a meteor as she was treated with another elbow strike to her chest, blasting her forward as her body continuously hit the ground before rolling on her back.
"Had enough yet? You seemed prepared to bug out just now." The Pyronite smiled, though the blonde teen paid no thought to him, strictly focused on his target.
Mosquito Girl grunted as she tried to move up, and the cyborg readied his cannon, prepared to extinguish the nuisance once and for all. The alien in question raised his finger up in a moment of confusion.
"Uh, dude? Do you really think killing her on sight will--"
Both were interrupted as another swarm of mosquitoes shielded the hybrid and flew away, just as the blonde fired another sphere of burning energy at the mass, summoning another blast.
"--nevermind..." Heatblast mumbled, lowering his hand, and just sighing as he glared at the mass of pests circling in the air. Meanwhile, up at the sky, the woman's injuries began to heal as she licked her lips in satisfaction once again.
"The towns people may be hiding, but there are plenty of animals left to feed on..." She smirked, and her army had now begun to ravage the forest, "That's it, little ones! Come here and store your fresh juices into me!" she shouted.
Heatblast gave off a dumbfounded face, "Okay, that is just wrong." the cyborg, meanwhile, was locked in his own thoughts while witnessing the colossal ball of pests.
So many... if she has been collecting blood from the whole town, as well as the surrounding area... then this may be more than just a simple food source for her... I need to put an end to this as soon as possible!
Right as the cyborg charged his cannons, however, a voice from behind signaled the duo's attention.
"Woah, what is that supposed to be?" The nostalgic, plain voice of the classic bald hero alerted them, the cyborg's eyes widened at the sight. The Pyronite was left to stare at the man with a tired face as he slapped his hand over it.
"It took you this long to realize the entire swarm of mosquitoes eating the entire town? Just how addicted are you to your hobbies, dude?!" The alien asked loudly, in turn startling the man as his expression shifted to complete horror.
"Wait, so you weren't lying about the mass of mosquitoes?!" The baldy whimpered, already stumbling back in fear.
"You there, evacuate, that swarm is conscious. If it senses you, it will attack." The cyborg glared at the newcomer, not wanting to face casualties in the midst of such a catastrophe.
"Seriously?" The hero asked awkwardly, his face was now left in a mix of confusion and concern.
"That's bad news, we should get--"
A sickening laughter caught the trio's attention, as all three heads turned to face the devastation unfolding in front of them.
"--ah, crap." Saitama finished, his attention still set on his worst nightmare.
Heatblast could only groan in annoyance, left with no reason to value his own life anymore.
"Well..." He started, as the swarm prepared itself to collapse on the three, "...shit." and finished with a murmur. Right then and there, the army struck down on the city with the force of a billion pests.
Then, a source of bright, golden light erupted. It inflated the swarm until it burst as the explosion scorched them and the city across. Once the incineration cooled, what remained of the landscape were the remnants of a decayed wasteland.
Miraculously, the infrastructure survived with the only collateral damage being the leftover burned concrete. To no one's surprise, the blonde teen stood in his natural pose with an open palm, unaffected from the city-wide blast.
"Since you could speak, I assumed you at least had human-level intelligence... but you were just a bug..." He expressed annoyingly, that was until a familiar voice from behind notified him of his mistake.
"Note to self: Don't fire a city busting nuke with your comrade right beside you." Said the iconic Heatblast, leaving the cyborg to turn and witness the Pyronite holding a fiery sphere in what was supposed to be the baldy's spot.
To the teen's shock, the sphere was absorbed by the alien's hand, revealing the bored bald man casually standing unharmed in the same position as before.
"Thanks for the help, Ben." His tilted his head to his friend, a faint smile formed on his face, causing both hotheads to widen their eyes.
"For real?! I'm supposed to keep my identity a secret, damnit!"
He slowly lowered his head and covered it with his hands, letting out a tired groan as the baldy simply snickered in response. The blonde cyborg on the other hand was left stunned, he didn't get how such a lifeless man with no time to take things seriously was friends with a magma monster bearing a human name.
It confused him, to say the least. But his concentration snapped one final time as the sound of the annoying Mosquito Girl enveloped the area around them, revealing the same pesky insect in a new fleshed out appearance.
Her design was now situated in blood red skin, with brighter lines covering her body, and she appeared sharper than before. Her exoskeleton grew fancy and armored, she now had long, pink flaps of hair spread out in a variety of directions behind her head.
"You IDIOTS! I no longer need the tiny ones! I mean..." In a flash, she disappeared without a trace and sliced three whole buildings to pieces with a mere swipe of her reinforced claws, "...look at how strong I've become!"
The teenage cyborg gasped in fright at the havoc she inflicted, as the evolved Mosquito Girl glared at the trio with the face of a lunatic. Another flash, she appeared right behind the blonde and readied her claws, but her attack only struck the air around her upon seeing the teen swiped by a golden trail.
She was about to yell out in anger, until an intense rush of pain shot into her spine, she could barely even shudder her as her head creaked to the right. There she spotted the supposed "monster" having lodged his fist within her back, burning through both sets of armor she was equipped with.
Blood pooled and disintegrated as it made contact with the Pyronite's heated hand, as the latter himself no longer bothered to hold back, simply pulling his arm right out. This left the insect to shriek in agony, the flesh inside her stomach had begun to boil violently, the very muscles and bones around her back were melting.
Still, she attempted to fly off and faced the trio before the signature palm of the bored man was placed right before her very eyes, not even having the time to process what she was anymore, the baldy's palm struck and bent her face in a very uncomfortable way.
Then, once it slapped her off, the mosquitos' body blew to bits as her blood sprayed near the buildings and concrete floor around. The midst of the clouds was cut in-between, releasing the beautiful light of victory onto the trio.
The man's hand was steaming from the strike, as he placed both within his pockets, "Mosquitoes, they suck!" he smiled brightly. Finally feeling a level of satisfaction upon defeating his ultimate enemy.
This left the teenage cyborg with a mouth hanging wide open, which would've dropped had it not been for his metallic skin. Heatblast bent forwards a little, upon witnessing the man leave behind a trace of mass destruction with the only weapon being the palm of his literal, Fucking, Hand.
"Wait a minute, sir!" The blonde cried, just as Saitama attempted to leave, while he faced the cyborg in mild confusion.
"Please, tell me your name." The teen's eyes were filled with desperation, and the man could see that. "Oh, it's Saitama." He answered casually.
"Thank you! I will learn how to be your disciple soon, sensei!" He shouted with determination, turning around and blasting himself off into the sky.
"Well, that happened..." The baldy's voice remained careless as always.
He turned around to face the direction upon which he traveled from, but stopped just before he could even take a step.
"Wait... did he just call me sensei?" He asked, glancing over at the alien. The Pyronite was still stuck in a trans though, mouth hanging wide open with his back hunched over a little.
A green light shined before his eyes, and the Omnitrix wielder stood back in his place. His eyes were still glued at the bloody mess in front of him, a slap, that's all it took to take down a catastrophe this wide.
Even a feeble strike from this plain and simple man delivered enough damage to blast away an entire continent if it managed to connect.
As his left arm shined, he snapped his fingers once again, another bright light of the latter's hue consumed the city. All the carnage unleashed from the outbreak was cleaned up.
At the same time, Ben disappeared along with Saitama, not even bothering to communicate as he entered the living room and fell face-first on the soft seats of the couch.
