After the incident succeeding Mosquito Girl and her minions, what followed next is another day in the life of a powerful bald man and a shapeshifting alien teenager, watching TV in the latter's apartment.
"AHHHHH!! How is this possible?! Could she have checked my call history without even asking?!" Yelled a male's voice from the screen, as another replied, "Damnit! We've lost the alien's location!" and the duo within the room were watching the whole spec unfold in total boredom.
Saitama rested by his side, as he grabbed a potato chip from his bag to consume it, with the Omnitrix wielder sitting cross-legged beside him. His eyes were shut and his watch shining a low light of green.
Saitama grabbed a cup of tea and sat closer to the TV, as he slouched down to fit with the small table separating him and the movie.
The light could be seen through the baldy's eyes, as if he was playing the movie within his own mind. From outside, a yellow light shined from the latter's complex, as he pulled out the disc for his movie. "Man, I gotta admit, stalkers really are scary."
The green light from the Omnitrix finally died down as the teen opened his eyes and stood up, "I know how you feel dude, trust me, I've been there." he responded.
This left the bald man to feel a bit worried about the shape-shifter's health, considering he himself has not felt the stress of being surrounded by the media.
In the morning, the hero was fiddling with the clothes in his closet. Come to think of it lately, I've been feeling eyes on me from somewhere too...
His face deepened, head lowered, clearly he was somewhat aware of the environment around him.
He continued to adjust his clothes. I mean, I've defeated a lot of villains in the past... maybe among them, someone still holds a grudge against me.
The view shifted to a building far from his apartment, then going back to him. It's no big deal if it was just someone with a mere grudge... but, if that anger turned into some kind of warped love or twisted obsession like it did in that movie... how am I supposed to handle it?
A shadow passed by the man with a burst of speed, and Saitama's face swapped to frustration as he turned around to catch the suspect, only to find his worked up room. "Man, this is place is actually getting pretty messy after all."
On another roof away from the hero's apartment, a bulky telescope viewed the complex from afar. A familiar cybernetic figure could be seen through the cover above the scope. It has been three days since I personally started investigating the secret of Master Saitama's power.
Of course, it was the cybernetic fan-boy Genos, who was taking notes on his observations while the advanced scope caught sight of the closet. I have yet to gain any information about my suspensions, though, and time is beginning to tick.
He lifted his head up, "Is he covering his tracks? So that nobody can find out? Either way, hopefully I manage to come up with a proper idea soon..." the blonde teen closed his notebook, with the word 'Compus' colored in blue at the bottom.
Later that day, the heroic duo strolled by the streets. Saitama was dressed in his classic hero outfit, while Ben held his hands inside his pockets, hood over his head.
Genos glances at the two as he reveals his face behind a tree trunk, this only caught the baldy's attention as he turned to catch him in the act, but the blonde wielded the stealth necessary to avoid it.
The Omnitrix wielder could only roll his bored eyes, more than aware that the older teen had been spying on them for days now.
The cyborg still stalked the two from afar. As I suspected, he is on guard, I must hurry...
The shape-shifter gave off a slight snicker, while Genos continued to follow the duo, instead now he stood behind an orange wall.
If only he knew I could still sense him. Ben lightly chuckled to himself, with the baldy in front paying no attention to his surroundings.
The blonde's optics were now focused on a restaurant sign that read: "Jonasama" His systems referred to it as a family restaurant of sorts.
Investigation, Day 4: He is dining out along with a friend for the first time. Something to consider, perhaps the secret in his power lies in his food.
The teen pulled out his notebook and wrote down his acquired information. Within the fancy drink bar, the heroes were patiently waiting as everyone else. The baldy held a menu in his hands that displayed all sorts of delicious, high-quality food.
The brunette on the other hand, wore his headphones underneath his hoodie as he laid back with a peaceful smile. A woman with short black hair walked up to the duo, wearing a dark, magenta red dress. Although she seemed rather interested in Saitama's choice to read the menu.
"Right now we're running a special on all of our steaks, they're really good, what can I get you two?"
She asked nicely, the Omnitrix wielder opened his right eye as he lowered his headphones and hoodie, "I'm alright for the time being, I might maybe choose to make an order later."
The woman smiled back as she nodded, and Saitama turned his head to face her, before lowering the menu and digging into his left pocket to take out his wallet. Of course, the rather low amount of currency he was equipped with made it so he couldn't really afford a good meal.
"Uh, I guess, give me whatever turns out to be the cheapest."
Ben's face left but a bored deadpan as he turned over his hood and headphones, simply sitting back in comfort at the well-made product of the seat.
"The 150 gram steak?" She asked.
"Uhh, no." The baldy's eyes were set to the lowest possible option he could think of, "This." he placed his finger over a simple plate of fries.
The woman followed his choice, "So, a side order of french fries?" she looked over to him, and could tell how little he was thinking.
Fortunately for her, the teen in front of the man lifted his right wrist and snapped his fingers to get his attention. "Huh? Oh, yeah. That's all."
The woman left quietly with the same, calm smile she greeted the duo with. The baldy placed his wallet back into his pocket, "Aw, man. Looks like it's time to get a job again." this actually caught Ben's attention.
"Wait, have you really been living in an apartment for 3 years without even applying for a job to support you?" He asked.
"Yeah. Damnit all." The bald hero groaned weakly, and this left the shape-shifter in a small fit of confusion, how could someone survive for that long without even being able to afford proper food?
In a counter behind the duo's table, Ben faintly spotted the familiar blonde cyborg drinking from a cup as he eyed the duo, and the younger teen could tell how determined he was to uncover the baldy's origin behind his overwhelming power.
"There you go, enjoy!" The young woman from earlier placed down the baldy's plate of fries, and two cans of ketchup and mustard. Saitama could only stare at the plate in mild irritation.
"Seriously? That's all I get? This is 300 yen?"
He lifted his head up, "Hey, uh, Ben? Do you have money on you?" a slight hint of concern enveloped his voice.
The brunette opened his eyes, bending forward to speak, "Well, no. I don't really know how yen works to begin with, and since I don't need saturation of any sort, there's really no point in purchasing food." this left the man to sigh in defeat.
"This really sucks, today just isn't my day, huh?" He responded, and that definitely caught the blonde's attention, as his optics zoomed onto his master's plate.
Is that it? If his scanning didn't make it clear, he took a sip from his cup in order to avoid looking suspicious, obviously failing to realize Ben was already aware of his shenanigans.
The bald hero then left to use the restroom, and as the cyborg stopped eyeing him, his optics sharpened once again.
After Saitama returned and made it back to his seat, he looked closely at his food upon realizing that the soft thick fry from before had been stolen.
"You gotta be kidding me..." He mumbled, and looked over to the Omnitrix wielder, who was still resting by the seat. "Ben, did you take one of my --?"
"No." He retorted bluntly, "I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings, I've been doing nothing but listen to music this entire time." and this response only left the bald hero to glare closer at his fries.
The young woman from before walked by the duo, as Saitama got up to ask. "Excuse me, miss?"
"Yes?"
"Well, I'm missing a french fry." He said plainly. The woman's face showed a little bit of concern, as she looked closely at the tray.
"Yeah, one in particular. See, there was a really long soft fry on top of the pile, I went to the restroom for a little bit. Then, when I returned, it was gone."
Ben lowered his headphones and hoodie as he stood up, causing the two to glance at him.
"In case you're wondering, Saitama, I can confirm she didn't take your fry. Even though I was attached to my music, I still sensed a very fast pace of movement drifting by me when you left, that might've been the one who took your french fry." Though, deep down, he knew the identity of the culprit.
This left the two to gasp quietly, and Saitama put his index finger up his chin.
"I was right after all! Someone really is stalking me today!"
The woman's nervousness was noticed by her short whimper, but was alerted by the teen placing his right palm over her shoulder. "Don't worry about it much, ma'am. This isn't a major problem for either of us, it's just some idiot trying to spy on us for a prank."
She turned her head to face him, "O-Oh? Is that it, then?" she asked, leaving the young brunette to nod as he took his hand off her shoulder. She walked off patiently, although Ben did feel a bit bad for frightening her like that, she appeared to be new to her job.
The duo sat back down, and the young hero could read the older teen's thoughts from afar.
He makes a special trip to a chain restaurant, there he makes the bold choice of ordering only french fries. This clearly means something, no normal person would ever dream of such behavior. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that this is a special food. A unique fuel that holds the secret to Master Saitama's power.
In his hand was a small plastic bag with the same french fry that was taken earlier.
It appears normal, could it just be a secret ingredient? No. He placed a green glove over his hand, holding the french fry with his index finger and thumb.
"Analysis reveals, this is nothing but an ordinary french fry." His eyes sharpened, "Perhaps there is no secret to his diet after all." pulling out his cellphone, he transmitted the info. "I will send the data and have it analyzed further in the laboratory."
Saitama roamed the streets in an irritated passion, "Who the hell ate my damned french fry?! And why, out of all of them, did it have to be my favorite fry?" he stopped walking as his face shifted to that of a slightly concerned look.
"Wait, no, don't tell me... was Ben right when he said I actually have a stalker?!" The man began to turn to separate angles in his attempt to catch the culprit.
Back at his house, the baldy was crouched behind a mail box as he glared at his apartment.
Thieving bastard! I am so gonna catch you and kick your ass! I'll hide right here until he walks by, and then jump up and confront him! The area around is deserted, so it'd make sense that I'm the only one around.
In other words, logic would dictate if someone shows up at my house, that person has absolutely got to be my stalker! No, just my french fry thief, for sure! And I'll be right here waiting to catch him red handed!
Though all that played in the background was nothing but the mere wind around him.
Huh, no one's showing up. The bald hero failed to notice the yellow optics scanning him from above.
Master, what are you up to? You've been stuck in the same position for 2 whole hours now. Genos was huddled on top of the railing on the road above. Is he engaging in some sort of visualization exercise?
"He's engaging in catching you in the act." The familiar voice of the Omnitrix wielder startled the cyborg as leaped forward onto the railing and turned, shocked to see the younger teen in his place, arms crossed and eyebrows raised.
"What are you suggesting by that? Do you know Master Saitama enough to understand what he's even planning?"
The brunette could only groan quietly as he lowered his head, pinching his nose, before facing the fanboy again.
"Listen, you know that I'm basically his roommate, alright? But I've been hanging out with him for much longer than you have, and I can confirm that you have been stalking him this entire time."
This left the blonde's eyes to widen, how did this boy know so much about his master?
"If I may ask, what can you tell me about Master Saitama's hidden power, I for one do not know you so well."
"I can tell you that he does not appreciate being studied by someone he only met days ago." Ben was aware of the fact that the cyborg did not know of his secret identity, which was probably something he'd reveal another time.
The two teens stood there in an awkward moment, until the brunette let out a sigh, turning around to walk off.
"Just don't try anything stupid, okay? You've already pissed him off quite a lot today, even if it is over something as small as a french fry."
Genos' phone suddenly rang as he lowered himself under the railings, placing his phone over his ear, "Analysis complete, good, I appreciate your help doctor. Understood, I'm returning to base now."
He placed his phone back into his pocket, and glared over the railings one final time.
Later in another town...
"Damnit, no one showed up..." Saitama placed a note inside a massive mailbox, until he turned behind him from the sound of a man's scream.
Civilians were fleeing in fear, while witnessing a ginger-haired young man dropping to the floor with his face covered in a white pasting, which then evaporated as it left the man's skin dried up and dirty.
A small chuckle resonated in front of the poor man, a taller male figure stood before him as he desperately itched his face.
"I'll make you all dry as dead leaves..." his voice sounded like a proud gentleman, he stood tall and lean with wavy blonde hair, a well-moisturized face under a pink mask sheet and long fake eyelashes, he wears an open, long sleeved black jacket with red frills appearing from the inside that extend to the bottom to form a skirt, and his left wrist was incased in a large red tube of cream.
Other civilians were scattered on the floor with the same dead faces, barely breathing, and the shadow of the infamous Caped Baldy himself walked over to them.
"I'd suggest you be careful, because I've had a pretty annoying day, and that's made me pretty frustrated."
"That shiny head..." The villain's face deepened in annoyance, "I finally managed to meet it again!" he smiled evilly. The bald hero was left in confusion, as the villain pulled out a long pink pole with two spiky magenta sacks.
"Come now, you don't remember me?" The bald man stared carefully at the criminal, attempting to pull back any past memories.
"Six months ago you beat me with a mere punch, I am Men's Esthetician Man, the notorious wanted Class-B criminal!"
Saitama lowered his head closer in an attempt to understand what exactly the villain planned.
"The shock of being defeated by you made by lush skin completely dry out, ever since I've kept to a strict training moisturization regime! All the while I've been on a constant look out for you!"
The baldy let out a small gasp as he hinged back. "Then you're--"
"That's right, you remember now? And wouldn't you know it, as I kept searching for you I turned into an even more powerful monster than ever before!"
"Ah, so that's what happened..." His tired voice represented his growing boredom in life.
"I searched for you everywhere! I knew that if I kept causing incidents you'd end up showing sooner or later!"
This left the bald man to pay close attention to the floor in mild annoyance, this day had been a boring pain in the ass for him, and it wasn't made any better from a random no one drifting by for a fight.
"All the clues add up now..." He lifted his head up, "It was you wasn't it?" a grim facial expression formed over his face.
The villain chuckled, "I doubt even you could manage to keep up with the smoother, softer me." he proclaimed proudly.
"Ohhh... maybe not him, but rather me..." A chilling, eerie voice called from behind the criminal, quite literally freezing him in place.
Saitama broke out of his trans to witness ice spikes emerging from the ground and overtaking the criminal, whose mask fell off as he lightly whimpered in horror.
The ice rose just below his neck, his fear left him with the only ability to stutter and flinch excessively, barely able to move his head. He did his best to remain calm, carefully turning said head to the right, the corners in his managing to peek over at the sight.
There stood a blue humanoid moth at two meters in height, with four wings and two antenna-like wing folds that fold up into a poncho-esque robe with a hood, making him appear phantom-like. His skin is overall black with a thick blue patching on his slender chest, which also appeared as colorful ice from the back of his neck running down his shoulders, it was also displayed on his upper and lower legs, as well as his wrists.
His face is colored greyish-blue while his eyes and mouth are covered in black, and they meet at the center of the face. He has a black marking on his head that extends over his scalp, causing the remaining blue parts of his forehead to appear in a Y-shape. His eyes are a bright green, like the rest of the other aliens, but with smaller darker spots floating within.
His mouth appears in a frown showcasing four bluish-white teeth, he has three pointed fingers and a thumb on each hand, along with three sharp toes on each foot, two at the front and one at the back for steady balance. The Omnitrix symbol is attached to his chest.
The Necrofriggian's voice was ghostly, cold and deep. His lack of proper lips revealed his straight, solid teeth, and eyes whom petrified the criminal. Then, with one good slap behind the head, knocked the B-Class threat out cold.
In Dr. Kuseno's laboratory, Genos was studying his findings from earlier, "Main ingredient: potato, calorie count: 24, sugar: 1.8 grams, carbohydrates: 4.2 grams, sodium: 0.035 grams, protein: 0.32 grams."
The blonde teen stared into the bright monitor in an attempt to figure out what ingredients were needed to grant Saitama his overwhelming power, but ended up falling down on his left knee in defeat.
"Damn! It is just an ordinary french fry! He has a normal diet, it is no different than that of an average person."
Genos' face was filled with frustration. I have not discovered a single clue necessary. Is it possible that Master Saitama could be a cyborg just like me?
He lifted his head up in determination. "I have considered the data, just one thing left to do..."
Back with Saitama, he glared angrily at the frozen criminal in front of him. "I don't care how many times you've come back to challenge me... I can handle it! Lemme just give this piece of advice; don't you ever go around stealing other people's french fries ever again!"
Big Chill stared at the bald man with a deadpanned face, the latter having gone invisible in order to avoid any unwanted attention, though he made a mental note to revive the dried citizens later.
"Ehh, not to be offensive, but I believe you might've overreacted a bit too much on that french fry earlier..." The alien said, even though he was perfectly undetectable to the senses, that did not stop the baldy from glaring at him annoyingly.
This left the blue moth to slap his face, letting out a frustrated groan as he levitated behind the man.
If I continue being a hero, I'm sure this won't be the last time someone will hold a grudge against me.
The Caped Baldy in question ended up stumbling across a ginger cat licking itself, and lowered his hand to greet it in person.
But again, no animal enjoyed his presence, and the feline ran off. He heard the invisible Necrofriggian from behind snicker, an irritated look covered his face as he got up and left with a scoff.
That's my fate, can't really be avoided I guess...
This time he was eating at a cafe. Another shot, he was outside, peacefully walking under the sunset.
I just need to change how I think, right? I need to start thinking positively, I have to believe that there are people in this world who will appreciate what I do. He raised his fist and stared at it. People who know that I'll be there to help.
Birds flew over the trees, the bright sun lowering every passing minute.
I became a hero three years ago, I'm not saying that I desire fans or anything, but it'd certainly be nice if someone finally noticed what I've been doing around here.
He stared at the golden sky. Oh yeah, there was that one guy that wanted to be my disciple.
This turned out to motivate the man in some way, he did seem to appreciate what little recognition he got for his efforts. And especially from Ben, hope he's still having fun reading my thoughts all day.
Genos clenched his fists. Investigation: Day 5, I have prepared myself for the worst.
He stood in front of the baldy's apartment door, prepared to make contact as he took a deep breath, "Sensei, sir!" and the door opened.
"You actually showed up..." Came the familiar voice of the bored, powerful hero.
