Chapter Forty-Eight: Prometheus

"Now Remnant has two sentient beings that are the dominant species, Humans and Faunus. While humans are the more prevalent of the two it is the Faunus that have a greater advantage due to their animalistic features." The Doctor continued as the screen changed again to showing a single figure. "Now we still aren't sure when and where the two species diverged from a single species but what we do know is this divergence is what caused the world we have today." Above the single figure arrows split off to two more figures. "One known as Homo sapiens and the other known as Homo animalice. As you know Homo sapiens or Humans have remained unchanged for the most part since their evolution, however Homo animalice continued to evolve to incorporate other animal features giving us our current Faunus species with its many variation." Multiple arrows split from the second figure into more figures. The screen advanced to show a rabbit Faunus. "Now naming the Faunus is simple it is simply, Homo, as they are a bipedal race followed by they type of animal they take after, such as this specimen here; Homo-lepus Californicus. It is quite a simple form of naming but it is effective. Now Miss Belladonna your classification would be…"

"Homo-panthera Pardus." Blake cut over the doctor in a monotone clip, her eyes narrowing. "I'm aware."

"Excellent I was counting on you knowing but I have run across a few that are unaware of what they should term themselves as." Stein grinned, "You have no idea how distressing it is that they don't even know why I'm dissecting them. Such a disappointment." Blake's eyes shot open wide as Weiss flinched away again from the man Yang's anger flared again causing heat to once again build below her skin.

"Y-y-you god damn bastard!" Yang spat grimacing again as the Doctor applied voltage to her.

"That was four thousand volts Miss Xiao Long. The next will be stronger." The Doctor warned. "Now then, the 'Hunter Initiative' was to make a safeguard for the continued existence of humanity, to do this we need to study our enemy. This task proved very difficult as they don't last long in captivity and their bodies disappear within hours of their death making it hard study their blood and DNA. We began nearly thirty years ago and it took twelve years to fully catalogue the DNA of just three Grimm species, Beowolf, Ursa, and Boarbatusk. Then we began to test our ability to manipulate them." The slide advanced showing a gruesome picture.

It was of an infant or more like the body of an infant that had its limbs twisted and distorted in a gruesome nature, one hand looked like a wolf claw while the other was human only with the fingers webbed together. It's legs where bent like a dogs the bones straining against the flesh. The face of the child was mutilated beyond any discernable features, half wolf half human mashed together. "As you can see the early test subject were less than desirable." The Doctor said as more pictures of mutilated bodies, some mid dissection were placed on the screen. Blake felt her stomach lurch as she looked away, beside her Weiss screwed her eyes shut tight against the horrible images, Yang leaned over the side of her chair loosing the contents of her stomach on the floor.

"It took years for any type of successful integration. Though through trial and error we discovered that Faunus DNA was much more suitable to our needs due to it's already flexible and unstable nature. Certain species did respond better than others so it was mainly trial and error at first. " The Doctor continued ignoring the girl's reactions. "This one; Subject five-zero-nine, was the first one that actually made it to a the age of five before it went clinically insane due to its Grimm nature." The picture was of a small boy that was deformed but still looked more Faunus than an animal. "Smashed it's skull in against the wall trying to escape." The next photo was of the same little boy on the floor of a cell, blood and brain matter strewn across the floor. Yang heaved again at the picture and Weiss's tears rained down her face as she shook her head at the gore, Blake swallowed hard against the bile rising in her throat.

"It took several more tries for us to finally balance the right mixture of Grimm and Faunus DNA to get more suitable candidates." More pictures, though these were less deformed or not at all, but after each one showed the gruesome death they suffered when they went insane. "Sadly they all lack that certain quality we were looking for, the ability to be the apex predator." The Doctor sighed, "Except for one. Eighteen years ago we succeeded on making the perfect predator or what would have been the perfect predator if the facility had not been compromised."

"Our main facility for breading the test subjects was in Dragnaire using the cover of a Dust refining plant and sadly one day a large scale containment field breach made it unsafe and it was abandoned with the test subjects allowed to live, a mistake that should not have been made. I away from the facility at the time with Lord Schnee and was unable to make sure proper protocol was followed. At the time I didn't put much thought into the loss of the facility as once it was safe we could go in collect the corpses and use the data they provided, however it seemed that someone else had plans of their own."

"The containment field breach was not an accident as it originally appeared at first but the direct results of sabotage from a Huntress hoping to destroy the project on the orders of my former partner. She took the final subject from the facility and raise it as her own." The Doctor gave an annoyed sigh, before continuing on. "The final subject took was developed from a very unique strain of DNA that took years to collect.." The slides advanced. "This is Homo-canis Rufus." Weiss' eyes snapped forward at the name, a Red Wolf Faunus, Ruby. "Of all the Homo-canis genus it is the Rufus species that is the most rare. Characterized as strong, quick, extremely protective and very vicious, Homo-canis Rufus made for a great base for our genetic tests and was our perfect creation. It saddened me when I thought we lost such a perfect predator but after eighteen years I couldn't believe that it was still alive and even thriving." Stein smiled wickedly Weiss making her shudder. After second the Heiress processed his words.

"What are you talking about?" Weiss asked looking up at the man. "Ruby is a Faunus but not a creation of some project."

"Oh but there is where your wrong." Doctor Stein smiled, "This Ruby you speak of is none other than Subject six-zero-five, the very last test subject." The screen flicked to show a picture of Ruby.

"Ruby!" The three girls exclaimed at once.

"This is a live feed of six-zero-five who is being held in one of our cells currently." Stein explained. Weiss focused on the girl on the screen, her heavy combat gear had been removed leaving her in her black top and black compression shorts. Her black and red locks fell over her face and eyes, a red tipped ear on the top of her head twitched at an unheard sound. She stirred a bit more before silver eyes slowly cracked open.

"Ugh." Ruby groaned as she slowly sat up. "Wha...?" She looked around confused. "Where am I?" Weiss' eyes darted over the girls form checking her for any wounds. Besides a few cuts from the fight earlier she seemed fine which made a wave of relief spread through the Heiress. That was until she spotted a black ring around her wolf's neck then panic and fear set back in.

"Take that off her neck now!" Weiss yelled pulling at her restrains, she had to get out of there now and to Ruby she had to stop what was about to happen next.

"Why would I do that?" Doctor Stein asked wickedly. He pressed a button on his table. "You may begin the test now." Weiss snapped her gaze back to the screen.

"Hello?" Ruby was asking on the screen looking around, "Yang? Blake? Weiss? Is anybody there?" From somewhere off the screen Weiss heard her own voice scream out and Ruby looked around in a panic, "Weiss! Weiss where are you?" Ruby yelled searching desperately for her mate. Suddenly the wolf seized up and fell to the ground clutching at her throat.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HER?" Yang roared pulling at her restraints. "YOU FUCKING BASTARD I'LL KILL YOU!" Seeing her sister in pain caused Yang to lose control as wave of heat poured off her.

"Leave her alone." Blake yelled as she clued in to what was going on, her own eyes finding the collar around Ruby's neck.

As Ruby finished convulsing the Heiress' voice once again screamed out and the wolf struggled to raise to her feet, "Weiss." She called out hoarsely only seize up again as the collar sent more shocks into her body. This time when the electricity stopped the wolf just laid there limply as the screams sounded out. "W…W…We-Weiss" She struggled to roll over panting hard only to cry out in pain as the collar went off again.

Weiss felt her heart breaking with each shudder of Ruby's body, her own tears poured from her eyes as she watched the crimson wolf cried out in pain. "Please stop this!" She screamed pulling at her restrains, the metal cutting into her skin, "She's not who you think she is she's just a girl. Please stop you're hurting her!"

"This is the only way to show you what she truly is." Stein smiled at the screen.

Ruby's panting was reduced to barely audible wheezes, her chest heaving in sharp ragged rhythms her hand clutching at the collar trying to free her from it and the pain. Silver eyes that once sparkled like sterling were now dulled to a sheet of gray, where there was once life were now hollow and empty. "We… Weiss…." Ruby breathed, "H-h-help." Her voice was broken as once again more electricity poured through her body as the fake screams filled the cell.

"STOP PLEASE!" Weiss begged for Ruby's life.

"But where nearly there." Stein laughed as the young girls body slumped to the ground. "This should do it."

"NO!" Weiss screamed as Ruby's body convulsed again. Only this time when it stopped something had changed. This time instead of silver eyes opening they were red. Blood red.

The wolf snarled as she stood eyes flaring as they took in the room, nails lengthen and sharpened, her canines now more pronounced than any of her teeth, her tail bushed out and twitched in erratic ways. All three girls stopped screaming at the man and watched as their leader paced back and forth like a wild animal. Weiss watched as her wolf snarled and clawed at the walls bringing back flashes of the time they had fought the White Fang Lieutenant and Ruby had ripped his head free of his shoulders.

"This is subject six-zero-five." Doctor Stein smiled proudly, "The first Grimm Faunus hybrid, Grimmorious Lycanus. The true apex predator faster than a Beowolf, stronger than an Ursa, and sturdier than a Boartusk. This is my greatest work, the 'Prometheus' " His smile widened as the wolf on the screen slammed her fist into the cell wall causing it to dent. He pressed a button the podium, "Send in the first subject." A door opened on the side of the cell opened and a screaming man was pushed into the room.

"Gods no, please no!" The man screamed as he saw the wolf in the corner of the room, "No, no I didn't mean it, it was a mistake I didn't mean it." The fake scream sounded out again and the wolf focused in on the man causing him to screamed louder and pound at the spot where the door had been. Red eyes flashed and the wolf pounced slamming her full body weight against the man burring her claws into his skin making him scream more.

The wolf didn't stop her attack as she tossed the man as if he weighted no more than a pillow against the far wall causing the sound of breaking bones to fill the air. But the wolf still didn't stop as she pounced on her prey tearing into him with sharp claws as Weiss' fake scream still sounded out. Blood filled the air with each swing of her claws as the man fell silent, his body shredded into a bloody mess. The wolf stood looking for any new threats, seeing none she began to stalk her cage pacing back and forth. The live feed was cut and the girls were left staring at the spot where they had last seen the wolf.

"Ruby." Weiss sobbed as she hung her head. She couldn't believe what she had just seen but yet the images of her girlfriend tearing about that man were burned into her mind. She replayed the moments of when she had seen Ruby attack someone when she had been threatened or in danger, each time they had wondered if Ruby was losing herself to the nature of the wolf but now the Heiress couldn't help but wonder if the girl had been losing herself to the Grimm inside. She didn't want to admit it but the proof was there, she had seen it herself; Ruby Rose was part Grimm.

"You fucking bastard." Yang growled as she came back to herself, the heat had died down when she had watched her sister tear apart the man, the heat was still there but now instead of a raging inferno it rippled and simmered just below the surface of her skin waiting to be set free. "When I get out of these restraints I'm going to rip your fucking spine out through your slimy mouth then shove it so far up your ass it resets itself." She seized up again just as she finished but this time she didn't cry out but just continued to glare at the man as he pressed the button.

Once he released the button the Doctor sighed, "Six thousand volts Miss Xiao Long, we're going to start to approach lethal numbers shortly." He shook his head, "And as for your threat, you obviously lack any anatomical knowledge so please refrain from making any threats that involve that."

"Fine, how about I just punch you in the fucking face until your skull caves in." Yang growled, "That I know I can accomplish." Again the Doctor pressed the button and the blonde seized up.

"Eight thousand volts." The Doctor calmly replied, "Care to try for ten?" Yang remained silent and just glared at the man. After a few minutes of them just staring at one another the Doctor shrugged and turned to look at Blake. "Well know that I have the 'Prometheus' back I guess it's time I begin trying to make another. What do you say Miss Belladonna, care to donate your body to the cause? After all panthers such as yourself are hard to come by. I'm sure I could make better use of it than you currently are."

Blake said nothing but glared at the man who dared to put her team through this hell. If Yang didn't kill him she certainly would. The Doctor went to speak again only to be interrupted by the building shaking. "Now what?" The Doctor gave an annoyed growl as he pressed the button. "Rourke report." He snapped out.

"We're under attack." The Captain's voice replied, "The White Fang some how found this place, they're attacking with everything they have."

The Doctor snarled as his fists clenched, "Damn that old bastard, he must have discovered our location and kept it in his files. Why didn't Torchwick warm me of this? Surely that bullheaded fool would have told him if he was attacking such a target." With another snarl the man turned towards the door, "Excuse me ladies, it seems we have some unruly animals that need to be dealt with." As he pulled open the door he gave them one last smirk, "Don't go anywhere, I still have plenty planed for us."

As soon as the door snapped shut Yang started to once again pull at her restrains. "We are getting out of here." She growled.

"It's pointless." Weiss muttered under her breath making the two girls look at her. Her head was bowed as tears dripped from her eyes, "We're trapped in this damn room, that monsters has Ruby, he's going to come back here and do whatever he pleases because that's how he is. We are all going to die slow and painful deaths because I dragged us here to try and protect someone that isn't even probably here." The Heiress looked up at them, "It's point-"

"Shut the fuck up Schnee." Yang snarled as her eyes flashed crimson making Weiss flinch back. "Just because you don't think there's a point doesn't mean I'm going to give up." The blonde continued to glare at her, "He has my baby sister and if you think for a damn moment that I give a fuck about him saying Ruby is part Grimm then you're dead wrong because Ruby Rose is my sister and there is nothing in this world that will make me stop caring about her. I had honestly started to think that you were the same but I guess I was wrong."

Weiss blinked before her own face twisted into anger, "How dare you. You think that I stopped caring about Ruby just because that monster that monster says she's some experiment of his twisted mind? You think I'd stop loving her just because she might be part Grimm? How dare you even begin to accuse me of such."

"Then why are you just giving up?" Yang shot back, Blake was about to try to defuse the situation but then she say what Yang was trying to do. She was trying to snap Weiss, the person who had the most experience with the Doctor and more knowledge of how an SDC facility was laid out, to stop mopping and start thinking on a plan to get out their current predicament. "If you really care about Ruby then you'd be trying everything you can think of to get out of this room and find her."

Weiss just glared at the blonde, "Null Dust has one weakness; extreme heat. Since you're the only one here who could possibly generate enough of it and not be burned by the melting steel you'll have to be the one to break us out."

"How much heat?" Yang raised an eyebrow, she could generate enough to melt normal steel but that took a lot out of her so she hopped it wouldn't be much hotter.

"About four times more." Weiss replied before tilting her head to the side, "But if you are able to concentrate it in one spot it might be feasible. Think you can do it?"

"I think I can manage." Yang smirked, "Sorry Blake but you might get a little warm."

"Just get us out of here." Blake shook her head leaning as far as she could towards Weiss. Yang nodded and closed her eyes focusing on her Aura letting it flow and encompass her wrists before igniting it in a full blaze.

As the two girls waited for any results from the blonde Blake turned to face the Heiress, "We're going to need directions to our weapons when we get out of here. Any guess as to where they will be?"

"Close." Weiss explained, "Most holding facilities like this aren't that large, that is if we are in a holding facility. If we're not in a holding facility then they'd be on the floor with the armory which is usually on the ground floor. If I had to guess I'd say we're not in a holding facility based on the fact of how heavily guarded this place is. The 'Leviathan' holding facility was only staffed by a few guards and personnel to look after Winter. This seems two well staffed to be there."

"So they moved your sister to a new place?" Blake asked as she glanced over to Yang, she started to see the manacles begin to glow.

Weiss sighed, "Yes it appears they moved Winter some time ago. I was tricked by that doll to come here when it already knew Winter wasn't here."

"Weiss, you wanted to protect your sister, there's nothing wrong with that." Blake tried to comfort the Heiress. "Now what about Ruby?"

"I'll find Ruby." Weiss gritted her teeth, "You and Yang need to head towards the hanger and secure our exit out of here."

The sound of metal being sheered apart filled the air as Yang ripped her wrists free of the steel manacles, "Well then let's get going then shall we?" She leaned over and using both hand she applied all of her strength to free her ankles. The blonde quickly repeated the process of ripping open the steel traps on both Blake and Weiss. The blonde then grabbed the their collar around her neck and ripped if free glaring at the offensive object as she tossed it carelessly to the ground.

"Yang." Weiss looked up at the blonde before giving her a soft smile, "Thanks for snapping me out of it."

Yang rested a hand on her shoulder, "Let's go get Ruby back." With a nod from each of the girls they all headed towards the door only for it to open again.

This time standing in the doorway was a young woman with light green eyes and silver hair, "Oh excuse me, but I'm going to have to ask you to please return to your seats until the Doctor has finished dealing with the White Fang." She gave the three girls a bright smile as she gestured back to the seats.

"Who the hell are you?" Yang growled as she stepped in front of Weiss and Blake.

"Oh how very rude of me, allow me to introduce myself. I am Klon, I am the Doctor's assistant." The girl, Klon continued to smile brightly at them. "Now please return to your seats and await the Doctor's return."

"Like hell." Yang snorted and started to push past the girl only to stop when the girl placed a firm hand on her shoulder keeping her in place.

"I really must insist Miss Xiao Long." Klon spoke again only this time her voice turning cold. "If you resist I will resort to physical force."

Yang looked down at the hand on her should then back at the girl, "You know I'd really like to see you try." The blonde challenged.

Klon frowned, "If you insist." In an instant the girl tighten her grip on Yang's shoulder and with a twisting motion she tossed the blonde into the far wall causing a dent and cracks to spread along it.

"Yang!" Blake cried out starting to plan her attack the girl only to stop when she heard the blonde cough.

"So that's how it's gonna be huh?" Yang gave a chuckling cough as she opened her eyes, the crimson inferno raging in them. "Alright then let's dance bitch." The blonde pushed off the wall and hit the girl with a mighty right hook sending her crashing though the wall behind her. "Blake, Weiss you go find our weapons I'll deal with this bitch." Yang walked up to the hole as Klon started to push her way though the debris that had fallen on her, "Weiss find Ruby quickly."

Weiss nodded and started running down the hall as Yang took her stance, Blake stepped towards the blonde, "Are you sure?" She asked not taking her eyes off the hole in the wall.

"Go." Yang nodded, "I'll catch up." Blake hesitated for a brief moment before nodding and took off after the Heiress.

"You really shouldn't have done that Miss Xiao Long." Klon sighed as she pulled herself back through the hole. "Now I'm going to be forced to retrain you." In a burst of speed Klon quickly closed the distance between the two of them and once again tried to grab Yang and put her in a submission hold.

Yang dodged the grab and set two quick punched into the girl's side making Klon grunt in exertion before they disengaged retreating a few feet from each neither taking their eyes off the opponent. Another shake of the building triggered the next engagement. Yang threw the first punch only to have her wrist snatched by Klon who as soon as her hand grasped firmly twisted to the side pulling the blonde slightly off balance allowing her leverage Yang off her feet and tossing her once again only this time into the ground breaking the tiles on the floor. "You're quite skilled Miss Xiao Long but I'm afraid I have the advantage here." Klon smiled as she kept her grip on Yang's arm while applying pressure, "You see your brawler style cannot hope to break my grappling. The Doctor had me train again Ursa's and Beowolves until I could hold them for extended periods of time." Yang grunted in pain as she tried to find a way out of the hold. "Struggling is futile."

Yang ground her teeth as she pushed off of the ground lifting herself and Klon up slightly, the pain lancing through her body was insane but she just used it to fuel her semblance, "I will never stop struggling, so long as there are people who depend on me." Yang growled as she used all of her might to push herself away from the ground and tear her arm free of the grapple.

Once she was free she started after the girl throwing jabs and punches in fast combinations. Klon tried her best to keep up with the brawler's attacks but her grappling style relied on large openings from slow opponents to but them in submission holds but Yang's attacks came in two fast for her to follow. After a particularly hard upper cut that sent Klon staggering back Yang paused her attacks looking at the girl in confusion. She knew her attack weren't as strong as she hit with Ember Ceilca but that attack should have shattered the girl's jaw.

After shaking her head Klon looked at the blonde and smiled, "As you may have guess I am not a normal girl Miss Xiao Long. I am the clone of the Doctor's late assistant Sylvia who died during the attack on the Leviathan Facility. I have been trained in grapples and holds in order to subdue my opponents receive minimum damage so the Doctor may perform experiments on them." The girl smiled brightly, "I have been instructed to make sure that you are unharmed as the Doctor wants to test the limits of your semblance. Now please either surrender or be forced into submission."

Yang gritted her teeth and triggered the knuckle guards on her gauntlets and took her stance, "Like hell I'm going to let that nutcase anywhere near me or my team."

"Force it shall be then." Klon sighed as she took her own stance.

"Bring it bitch." Yang growled. The two faced off neither moving until in the blink of an eye both exploded into a flurry of movement. Blows were traded back and forth as Klon tried to grab Yang and put her into a hold but was forced to let go each time one of the blonde's fists swung toward her arms threatening to break her bones. On Yang's side she was trying everything in her power to land a solid blow on the girl but her opponent slide around the heavier attacks that would have done serious damage, the blonde was forced to admit she was good but she had fought tougher opponents that moved much faster than her. She was forced to settle for smaller hits and jabs but she knew that each hit hurt none the less.

The building rumbled as the two girls jumped away from each other both breathing heavily. Yang had both of her sleeves torn off at some point as well as several long scratches from where Klon had dug her nails in hoping to get a better hold. Klon on the other hand had several cuts from where Yang's fists had broke through her skin as well as a few burns from where the heat the blonde produced clipped her.

"You are quite impressive Miss Xiao Long, quite impressive indeed." Klon panted, "I'm afraid however I'm going to end this now." Yang smirked but before she could respond Klon vanished.

The brawler felt two arms wrap around her shoulders and her neck while two vise like hands grasped the front and back of her head, "Don't worry Miss Xiao Long I'll only paralyze you, the Doctor prefers his subjects alive." Yang's eyes widen as she felt her neck begin to twist, the blonde knew she had only a few seconds react before she was incapacitated.

Twisting her body in the same direction that the girl was wrenching her head Yang kicked herself up off the ground and brought her fist smashing into her temple with all her might, as her fist connected Yang flared her Aura. The girl was flung away at great speeds before slamming into the wall. Yang panted hard as the adrenaline surged through her. She had only covered the theory on how to prevent someone from breaking her neck but had never actually tried it as if someone did it wrong during practice it could end up badly for her.

She turned her gaze on her opponent hoping that she didn't get up this time, blood seep from the wound on her temple causing the blonde to doubt that she would. Only when Klon twitched and started to stand did Yang know she was wrong.

"Very well done Miss Xiao Long." Klon coughed wiping the blood away from her face. "I must admit I didn't think you'd actually be able to prevent me from subduing you. Now let's-" Klon stopped talking as blood started pouring from her mouth. The girl swayed before she collapsed to her knees, her eyes shining with shock and confusion.

"What?" Klon coughed out before she leaned over and more blood spilled from her mouth. "But, but my body should be much more sturdy than a human. Why is this happening?"

Yang shook her head as she let her arms fall to her side, "You body may be more sturdy but your organs are still just as susceptible to indirect attacks." The girl looked up at Yang in confusion. "I've been training with Blake on how to directly flare my Aura in a specific direction, originally it was meant to help me learn how to shield against her former partner's attacks but we figured out I can use my as an offensive weapon as well since I have an abundance of it. I figured out a while ago that you lack an active Aura and when I hit you last time I triggered my own attacking you internally. When I did that I ruptured several veins in your brain, that you survived through it shows you really are more sturdy than a normal person." Klon coughed again sending more blood to the ground, she doubled over catching herself with one hand while the other was in front of her mouth being covered in blood. "Unfortunately, even a body as sturdy as yours still relies on its organs." With that the blonde gave her one last look before turning on her heel and started down the hall towards where Blake and Weiss had gone.

"N-n-no." Klon cried out as she fell into the pool of blood one arm trying to push her up while the other was reaching towards Yang, "I have never failed the Doctor. I w-w-wil-will not fail now."

"It's over Klon," Yang glanced over her shoulder before striding away, she head a small splash as Klon collapsed into the blood finally bleeding out. "Hang on Ruby, we're coming."

"That sure was a lot of them." Taiyang sighed as he wiped his brow. They had been fighting for hours along side the students of Beacon. Injuries as been abundant but somehow they had prevented the horde from reaching Vale with no causalities.

"Sure was." Qrow nodded in agreement as he slumped against a rock his scythe resting against his shoulder. He reached into his pocket looking for his flask only to have his hand grasp nothing, "Uh?" He glanced down to where he kept his flask only to find a hole torn in the pocket. "Well shit." He groaned knowing his flask could be anywhere in the field.

"Don't complain brother, it's about time that you stopped drinking." Raven said as she walked to stand between the two men. Her red eyes survived the battlefield as a few of the students mopped up the remaining Grimm. "Good to know the student quality hasn't dropped throughout the years."

"Ma'am?" A voice called out behind Raven making the woman look over. The girl that stood behind her was Coco Adel. The fashionista had quickly ascertained that Raven was in charge of the battle as not only the Vale forces responded to her commands but the Hunters as well. "We've cleared out the east front as well as most of the west end. It's just a small fry left over."

"Good work Miss Adel." Raven nodded at the girl, when she saw the girl had yet to move the woman sighed, "Go ahead and ask your question Miss Adel."

"Not to pry ma'am, but are you Yang's mother?" Coco asked.

Raven sighed, "I know I cannot lie to you," Seeing Coco blink Raven chuckled, "I'm more than familiar with your family's history and the legends that surround it." The woman turned to face the girl, "To answer your question, no I am not Yang's mother. Her mother was Summer Rose, the woman who nurtured her, protected her and raised her. I merely gave birth to her." Raven sighed and shook her head, "I am not a good person Miss Adel and in all likelihood once my team and I retrieve Yang and her team I will once again leave to continue my own agenda."

Coco looked at the woman for a few moments before she nodded, "I can't say I understand ma'am but for what it's worth, I think she would like to get to know you." With that the fashionista turned and left leaving Raven alone with her team.

Raven gave a heavy sigh before turning to face Qrow and Taiyang. "We can leave the rest of this to the students. Our next mission is to secure Leviathan as well as retrieve Team RWBY then bring them both back to Vale. Ozpin as provided me with the location of Leviathan and it's likely that RWBY will be there as well. Are you two ready?"

"Ready." Qrow nodded as he shifted his scythe into its traveling form.

Tai nodded as he hefted his great ax on to his shoulder, "Ready."

In a smooth motion Raven drew her sword and cut a portal open behind her. "Then let's go."

A/N: And the march towards the end continues, only a few left, three maybe four, depends on how the next few chapters pan out. Anyways there it is, the truth about Ruby. There were a ton of you who guessed something was up with our little wolf pretty early on but hey if I don't confirm it then it's all speculation. So I guess at this point I explain why Prometheus for Ruby's code name. So the Doctors name is Stein as in Frankenstein, Frankenstein is also called the Modern Prometheus. I think I'm freaking hilarious, but I digress.

With that: Thanks for everything you do, share your thoughts, and as always stay fresh you funky peeps.
