Lvl 1 - a shield that can mitigate damage from the front, and heal minor injuries.
Lvl 5 - Wielder can take five percent of damage for those within five meters.
Lvl 10 - Wielder can negate one attack every twenty four hours.
All in all I think for what I've been doing I'm growing decently. For not hunting Grimm I've leveled up quite a bit I've gotten very few quests Which I can accept.
My DEX is now equal to a huntress in training so that's great. I need more strength but building up my skills should probably be a bigger concern.
I haven't gotten any new skills related to sewing or anything from my class which confuses me. "I wonder?" 'Assist'
I sit there for a few seconds I begin to think that Azzy is gone but then.
"Hello this is Azzy how can I assist you today user?" Azzy exclaims.
'Ah yes Azzy I was wondering why haven't I gotten any new skills from my class, or from doing things like I've read other systems do?' I ask.
"Ahem to answer in order you don't receive new class skills tell every twenty levels. For the other side of things this system doesn't baby you like the others do. You may be able to get stronger far faster than any normal person, but everything else is all on you. The skills you do have that aren't class specific are for weapons to help show your progress on mastering them. Your Silver Eyes are an exception and Artifacts are their own separate thing. Basically if you ignore your class and your artifact your just living a normal life with numbers and a super growth rate. I mean there's also the gods/goddesses watching you but that's besides the point." Azzy explains.
'I... huh thank you for the explanation Azzy.' I say in astonishment.
"Your welcome user have a splendid day!" Azzy says.
I guess my practicing with sewing hasn't been useless thank the goddesses.At least I know the world won't have to magic up some excuse to keep me nerfed because I broke the power scaling, or gods forbid they buff my enemies.
After shuddering at that thought I get up from my desk I got recently. I also got a bigger bed for my room so that's a plus. But that's all besides the point because today is the day.

This is what I've been waiting for, but this is a first. I've never had bonus objectives before, and I wonder what the ??? Is all about. I sigh and head downstairs to see my pops.
When I get downstairs my pops is relaxing in a chair looking over some papers and drinking some tea. "Hay pops when are you gonna let me go hunting with you?" I walk over and rest my head on his shoulder.
"When I think your ready why is my teaching getting boring or something Iris?" Pops looks at me with a cheeky grin.
I pout at him. "you know that's not the case it's just. I need to get some experience fighting Grimm before I need to go to an Academy."
He visibly sags at me saying that." Have you thought about where your going to enroll?" He says with a sorrowful expression on his face.
I look at him with an apprehensive smile. "I'm thinking of Beacon Academy over in Vale. It's not the closest but I think it's far better than Atlas."
He sighs slightly and looks fully at me. "Are you sure you want to go all the way over there Iris? I know Atlas is more militaristic, but it's closer to home."
I can see in his eyes his hesitance to let me go so far from home. "Yes I'm sure Pops I'm not a little girl who'll get hurt. I also don't want to join the Atlesian Military which is a requirement now. Plus I kinda want to see other parts of the world that's not just our amazing snowy village." I say hugging him.
I feel him shift a bit and hug me "Ok Iris if that's what you want then fine I'll support you." He says while patting my head.
I feel him start getting up so I let go and I take a step back. "Let's go out back and I'll put you to the test to see if your ready to go hunting." He says with a sigh.
I go and grab my saber from my room and toss on some training cloths, and then head out back where he's waiting for me. I almost trip over my feet when I see him wielding his actual weapon "Riphean".
It's a powerful trident that can shift into a shotgun and can push out fire dust from the top like a flamethrower. It has a deep red coating with silver and black striped handles.
I walk up to him a bit nervous questioning why he has is actual weapon on him for once. "Um pops wh-" I get cut off when he suddenly swings right at me. I get a cut on my sleeve but it doesn't hit my skin. I skid to a halt and look at my pops in surprise. "What was that for!" I yell.
He stands up tall and flourishes his weapon and levels a glare at me. " You asked when you could go hunting with me. I replied when I think your ready. So show me your ready don't hold back anything and prove your ready." He moves forward ready to strike.
I unsheathe my saber and get ready for a uphill fight. The only advantage I have over him is that I still haven't been using my semblance I training with him. After all it can take years to find ones semblance some never find it.
I move forward and duck under his swing and try to land a hit but he swings his blade up bring his blunt end to block my attack. He then kicks me away and trys to hit me with a thrust.

I managed to use my blade to block the strike, but I can hear my blade creek and whine under the stress of the hit.
I parry his attack off to the side and try to move around him to get a hit off, but he simply moves with the the party to gain momentum and brings is trident around for a heavy swing.
I see he could still hit me if I duck under the swing, and I highly doubt my blade would survive that hit. Thinking fast I do the only thing I could and jumped over him. I bring down my blade to try and hit him in the head, but he reacts fast enough to bring his arm up to block.

I continue over him but before I land he slams the back of his trident into my back and sends me flying a few feet.

I grunt as I hit the ground and roll to my feet. I knew his weapon would hit hard but holy crap, and that was the blunt side too.
I see him twist his trident a bit before pointing it at me, and I know what's coming next. I decide screw hiding my semblance I'll lose if I don't use it here. I began running forward waiting for him to shoot. *BOOM* The moment I saw the barrel flash I blink behind him and land a hard blow to his back.

He stumbles forward a step in shock as he felt himself be hit from behind, but I don't let up and get three more hits in before he swings making me back up.

He huffs and smiles. "That was impressive now don't get cocky." As he finishes talking his face morphs back into a scowl.
I shiver this is the most damage I've ever done to him, and it looks like he's starting to take this more seriously. I'm going to need to be more careful and clever I know the same trick won't work twice.
I sprint forward ready to dodge any attack he might throw with a blink. I see him ready then-

I whimper as I shakily get up and look at my pops. It looks like he's putting more effort into this fight than any others we've had before. I knew his Dex stat far surpassed mine. I just didn't realize it was this vast of a gap. I can't even see his attacks coming if he get serious.
I grit my teeth and stood tall ignoring the throbbing pain in my back and stomach. I moved forward with more reservations this time.
I see him ready his weapon again and fire a blast. I dodge out of the way with blink then use it again to close the gap and get a hit in. He moves his trident in the way, and blocks my attack. Then he parries the attack and goes to sweep me with the other side. I blink to his side and try to hit him again and barely graze him.

I click my tongue and back step another swing. This is really tough he's faster than me if I'm not careful he could end this with one blow.
