Chapter 13: A Stars Emergency

One month later...

It's been a month sense I upgraded my huntress attire, and four sense my weapon started to get worked on. In this time the village has been increasing its defenses.

After a while people began noticing our traps have been tampered with. There's also been increasing sightings of Grimm.

Myself, pops, and a small hunting party went out to see what could be causing this. What we found was concerning to say the least. We discovered that there's a small, or maybe medium sized bandit camp on the other side of the forest.

We did a little bit of scouting, and found out they were using fake white fang gear. They disguised themselves as the fang to try and cover their tracks. As well as increasing Faunus/Human tension.

We ended up informing the Atlas military so they can come deal with them. There's a big problem though a massive blizzard is coming in, and it'll be hitting us around the same time as they show up. We try to warn them, but they think it'll be of no issue.

Those fools in Atlas clearly don't understand how bad blizzards are outside of Atlas, and Mantle. In prep for the blizzard we've been stocking up on fire dust, and food as well as bottled water just in case.

When blizzards come through the whole town chips in so no one dies. The towns a close nett group with only around a hundred of us living here.

Sense I've been prohibited to go out hunting tell the blizzard passes I've been spending time with my mum learning some forging, and going over what I can do to prevent the fall of beacon, or at least make it not so horrible.

I can't just go up to Oz and be like "Hay I've got magic and I know the future!" ya that wouldn't end well. He might think I work for Salem or something. I honestly can't do much because I'm just some random girl.

I mean I got silver eyes so he'll want me on his side. Though if I'm gonna work with him I'm not gonna work for him. Honestly I'll probably try to get team RWBY and JNPR on my side.

I wonder what team I'll end up on. I hope I'm on a decent team, or maybe one of the main teams. Though that might mess up cannon, gods this is all a pain.

I'll think about team stuff when I get there no use worrying about it now. Probably see if I can get Torchwick arrested earlier will probably help. Though Neo will probably spring him, or one of Cinders pets.

Actually if I can get Cinder, and her two pets in the spotlight that might mess up their plains. Probably not enough to stop the fall, but it'll make it harder for her.

Also somehow dropping hints of Mt. Glenn, and the tracks to stop the breach would be great too. There's lots of factors to consider i mean if I can get down to amber I maybe able to heal her, but that's a big maybe.

Honestly all of this is extremely stressful. If I could just tell them what's gonna happen it might be easier, but knowing Oz and Ironwood from the show they'll react into both extremes.

One would got full dictator, and one would be complacent. Honestly it's no wonder Oz is losing so badly considering how stupid the show makes him. I honestly really hope he isn't that dumb in ... well real life same with Ironwood.

It also gets me thinking. I want a life here a nice long hopefully happy life. Shouldn't I find someone to love? That also begs the question. what am I into?

I haven't felt any attraction to any girls or boys in the village. Eh it's something to ponder considering my hormones are starting to get the better of me. I want to cuddle someone! Is that so bad?

Anywho I got stuff to work on, and some preparation to complete.

Three days later...

Today's the day the blizzard will be hitting us. I don't know why but blizzards move super slow in Atlas. I remember in the show a snow storm trapped team RWBY and Co. for only a day and they thought it was bad.

Well apparently true blizzards make that storm look like a nice cloudy day in comparison. These blizzards can last up to a few days at least and two to three weeks at most. Even Grimm go into hiding during them.

That aside that also means todays the day the Atlas military personnel are arriving. I'm currently bringing in some extra wood incase we need it.

I go inside and put it in a pile in the corner. "There you go Mum this should be enough for a couple weeks if needed."

She looks from the couch where she's stitching up blankets. "Thanks sweetie can you do me one last favor, and go get your Pops from town?"

I smile at her. "Of course Mum I'll be right back." I go out the front door, and head into town.

After a few minutes of walking around I find him locking up the guard house. "Hay Pops ready to head back, and chill?" I giggle as I see him almost trip.

He looks at me with annoyance. "I don't know where this pun phase of yours came from." He grumbled under his breath.

He stands up taller, and looks at me. "Yes yes I was just making sure everything was locked up let's head home." He said with a sigh.

We start to head back to the house, and just then I see, and hear a bullhead going into the woods from overhead. "Huh I guess that's the military. I really hope they can get out of here before the blizzard hits."

Pops looks sternly at where the bullhead went. "I agree. I still think they're far to confident if they're only sending one bullhead worth of fighters to deal with at least two dozen bandits." My blood runs cold as I hear.

BOOM

We both nearly fall over as we look towards the woods, and see a massive amount of smoke. My stomach does a whole flip then drops at what I see next.

Emergency Quest!

A god has gotten bored, and decided to spice things up.

Notice

Failure of this quest will have dire consequences.

Objective 1: Save ???

Objective 2: Keep ??? Alive

Objective 3: Return ??? to your home, and send them back to Atlas.

I can feel my heart about to beat out of my chest when I read that. I can barely keep myself from shaking.

I look at my Pops, and he looks troubled. I look back at the smoke, and grit my teeth. "Pops I'm going to look for survivors."

I blink forward, and begins running as fast as I could. "IRIS WAIT" I can hear my Pops yell at me worry in his voice.

I look back over my shoulder. "No I'm not leaving someone out there to die! I'm fast enough to get there, and see if anyone is alive before the blizzard hits. Now go home I'll be back." I start using my blink every couple of seconds to increase my speed, and not waist too much stamina.

I manage to get to where the smoke was coming from in a few minutes. When I get there I see the bullhead from earlier in pieces, and bodies of both bandits and Atlas soldiers.

I swallow the bile crawling up my throat at the sight. I can hear some shouting, and gun fire as well as some melee fighting. I head towards it as I approach I see a Atlas soldier get stabbed, and another get shot.

There's three bandits left, and only one Atlas soldier left. I blink up to a branch just above them so I can jump in. Then I stop for a moment once I see who the soldier is.

??? POV ten minutes prior

"Alright everyone make sure your gear is ready, and be ready for anything." A white haired woman said standing at the front of the bullhead.

"YES MA'AM!" All the soldiers saluted before double checking their weapons and gear.

Looking out the window the white haired woman could see a village they're passing over. Looking closely she can see two residents walking though the snow.

"How close are we to the destination?" The white hair woman asked the pilot.

"Roughly nine minutes out. We could take them by surpri-." The pilot was cut off as the sensors began going off.

"Shit everyone br-." But before they could finish a explosion rocked the whole bullhead. It slammed through several trees, and crashed into the snow.

Five of the twenty soldiers where dead from the explosion, and crash landing with another six injured. The nine remaining scramble out of the crashed ship, and form a perimeter. With the injured getting out, and attempting first aid.

The white haired soldier dazed, and with a weaken aura got up from the cockpit. The pilot was dead, and the communicator was destroyed. They couldn't call for backup because the blizzard was scrambling their scrolls.

After trying what she could to get anything working she gave up and climbed out of the ship. With a limp her aura only activating during the crash. After she climbed out a shot rang out, and killed the soldier next to her.

All hell broke lose after that. Bandits wearing white fang masks rushed them, and they all started to get separated.

After a few minutes of fighting it was just her, and two other soldier versus three remaining bandits. She was on her last bit of aura as that crash took a lot out of her. The two soldiers try to rush the bandits, and hopefully get out of this alive.

She see the smiles the bandits have, and her spine has a chill crawl up it. "WAIT DON'T-." It was too late though the two soldiers hit the bandits, but their auras protected them.

She looks in horror as the last of her fellow soldiers die. One gets stabbed though the chest as the other gets a bullet to the head.

The three start closing in on her probably to kill her or worse. When a black figure appears before her, and says. "I've got you stay behind me!"
