Chapter 24: Initiation

Yosuzume: So. You understand what to do, right?

Shogi: Just go to a communications tower and spread POW's influence across the entire city of Tokyo

Yosuzume: Make sure no information gets in or out.

Tokyo's going to become isolated.

Yosuzume: Tonight this ends.

Flying out I begin heading towards-

It's that same lady from before. She's waving at me as if she was expecting me to have arrived here.

Platinum blond haired lady: "Oi! Yosuzume?"

I nod.

Platinum blond haired lady: "Why don't you come on down here so we can chat?"

Yosuzume: "Hmph. And why would I do that? Because you were once part of the Society like I was?"

Platinum blond haired lady: "Oh don't look at me like that. I'm sure you and I share a lot more in common than you think."

Yosuzume: "Hardly. I don't even recall who you are."

I turn away to continue moving moving forwards.

Platinum blond haired lady: "Ha! Of course you would forget. It's just like they said. You've nearly lost all of yourself. You may not remember me, but I certainly do, Miss Aoi Nishi."

Hearing my human name I quickly spun around.

Platinum blond haired lady: "PRT1RTX.0037c. Why don't you come on down and take a seat?"

I shake my head.

Yosuzume: "Hmph. As if saying that will force me to obey now. I've grown way past my programming. You cannot control me."

Platinum blond haired lady: "Feh. As if I was expecting that to have worked. Would've been boring if it did. You're looking for those Memory Packages aren't you?"

Yosuzume: "And you have one of them?"

Platinum blond haired lady: "Heh. Why don't you come down so we can talk?"

-tch. If it wasn't for the fact I can't even harm her I would've peppered her body with bullets right now. Still if she has information about my past like she is insisting…

Yosuzume: "The Roppongi Towers."

Platinum blond haired lady: "Done. We'll meet up there on the 23rd floor. I'm Kosui Kanon by the way."

Yosuzume: "Kosui Kanon. I'll see you there."

Non POV

The Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. Standing 238 meters tall with 54 floors above ground, 6 beneath, this towering mix-use skyscraper was completed back in 2003. Named after Minoru Mori, the primary focus of this tower was to serve as corporate office space for various corporations and firms. Floors 7 to 48 are dedicated to the businesses and on the 23rd floor one can find both the TMI Associates and Simmons & Simmons.

Well, normally you would've been able to except with the strangulation of Tokyo by Kanon's weeds, the whole of the Roppongi Towers was vastly empty. Flying at the 23rd floor from the outside, Yosuzume fired a barrage of bullets shattering several windows. Flying close, Yosuzume enters through one of the many shattered windows and heads deeper inside the Tower.

Kanon: "Welcome."

In the former Heavenly Queen's right hand is a disk.

Yosuzume: "Is that-"

Kanon put a finger to her lips.

Kanon: "First. I want you to detransform."

Yosuzume folds her arms.

Yosuzume: "And how do I know that disk is the real deal?"

Kanon smirks.

Kanon: "And how do you know that you don't? If you don't detransform right now, I'mma smelt this you'll never recover them all."

Yosuzume: "You're bluffing."

Kanon: "Wanna bet?"

Yosuzume's POV

There's no indicating whether Kanon's telling the truth or not. Either way, I can't risk it. If she is… then by going against her right now, I risk the chance that that disk might be the real deal. I'll have to play along for now.

Yosuzume: "You're lucky I can't just force your hand."

Kanon: "Heh, flattery's not going to get you anywhere. Detransform and I'll tell you everything you need to know."

It's true though. From my last battle with her, I've found that I cannot even harm her. Still, this time things are going to be different, at least I presume so.

Yosuzume: "About my past?"

Kanon: "About your time at the Society, moreover about the events that led you to where you are today."

Yosuzume: "My cyborgization?"

Kanon nods.

Yosuzume: "Very well. And that disk you have in your hand?"

Kanon: "I'll give it to you…"

If I detransform, I'll lose the protection of the Miraculous. Fortunately I've made sure I was fully stocked up on fuel just in case I was ever forced out of my transformation. Outside of.. A couple of nightmares, that has yet to happen.

Yosuzume: "Duusu. Fall my feathers."

I detransform.

Aoi: "Now. The disk-"

Kanon: "Ah ah ahhh. That will come later. First allow me to enlighten you on your past and why you became a combat humanoid."

I held out my hand.

Aoi: "Duusu. Appear before me."

As I have commanded, the little kwami phases out of me. Seeing the little floating kwami, Kanon turns to face it.

Kanon: "Ho? Is that the source of your power?"

Duusu: "Kanon.."

Aoi: "Ignore it."

Kanon: "Right right. Now where should I begin? Hm mm. It all-"

Aoi: "Just tell the important parts. You can leave out the filler."

Kanon rolls her eyes.

Kanon: "Geez. You're no fun."

Aoi: "Fun? I don't understand."

Kanon: "Pff. Of course you wouldn't."

I hear Kanon growl and grumble slightly under her breath.

Kanon: "Roughly 2 years and-"

Kanon shakes her head.

Kanon: "No. That wouldn't be it. September 14, 2011. You first joined the Society after a failed attempt to breach it with your then partner at the time, Yona Doraaki. Heh, unlike with me, you quickly took the effort to forget about your first crush."

Aoi: "Crush?"

Kanon: "Love interest. Had I not intercepted then you never would've joined the Society. Yona… he was smart for what was essentially a gadgeteer spy, it's just too bad that I happen to know ways to force his associates to cough up answers. On that day we officially met and after some simple fucking prodding from the higher ups, you disposed of your former partner."

Aoi: "When you say former partner-"

Kanon: "Of a defunct Agency. It's no longer around and that's thanks to both you and I."

Aoi: "You said that you know of ways to get people to cough up information."

Kanon shakes her head.

Kanon: "Oh no. It was not you who spilled the beans. It was thanks to some loose lip drunkard of a cop called officer Motoya Mosha that I was able to get the jump on that Agency."

Aoi: "I see."

Kanon: "Yes, well within the Society you quickly rose up in acclaim as one of the most productive C-rank members. Why, just by the end of summer the next year there was serious discussion amongst the echelons of the 2nd to top brass of potentially moving you up to B-rank ahead of schedule. Truly you were bringing in the results!"

Aoi: "And then something happened."

Kanon: "Not something. Someone. By the way. Do you still recall that you used to have a family?"

Aoi: "With something that's called a mother and a father and if I recall correctly, I had a younger brother?"

Kanon: "Same here. We both use to have own families. How you would dote on them and how they trusted you. Had you not failed then things could've turned out very differently for both you and them."

Aoi: "So my cyborgization was some kind of punishment."

Kanon shakes her head.

Kanon: "Not exactly, after all. You were the one who suggested it."

Huh?

What could she mean by that?

Aoi: "Explain."

Kanon: "On October 1st, 2012 you vehemently begged drill hairs and VD at the time for a chance to spread your proverbial wings, which they allowed you by giving you the chance to guard their warehouse. I was supposed to do that but Uzumaki had convinced both the Director and Vice Director to let you have a go at it."

Aoi: "Who's Uzumaki?"

Kanon: "Daitokuji Reina. Former head of the Research Weapons and Development sector and ex-leader of us Heavenly Queens. The task was simple. All you had to do was make sure no one unapproved got into the Society's warehouse and if they did, that those little fuckers would be disposed of, ideally by shrinking them down and capturing them or murder if on the off chance they proved to be too savvy."

Aoi: "I failed, didn't I."

Kanon nods.

Kanon: "To put it bluntly, yes. At the time it came as a shock to the higher ups at th Society. Your traps and machinations- the security bots you had deployed and the various contraptions you had set. Not one of them could slow or even stop the intruder who would later best you."

Aoi: "And this intruder?"

Kanon: "A detective. Just a young teenager boy, 13 years of age. But all was not lost, thank the fucking lord! Haha! Despite everything, it didn't all turn out for a shitshow."

Aoi: "So what happened?"

Kanon: "That detective. He managed to rough you up real good! You weren't just some weak little girl. At the time you had been training to be one of our military personel, so you were quite fit but it was to no avail against him. He beat you, got your membership card-"

Aoi: "My what?"

Kanon: "A card that denotes your rank within the Society allowing you clearance to certain areas as well as different perks. As a result you were panicking. Your perfect track record had become tarnished by one lowly detective and for your failure you were to be reprimanded."

Aoi: "By turning me into what I am today."

Kanon shakes her head.

Kanon: "That was later, 3- 4 days to be exact. On October 12, 2012 you would become what you are now, but we can wait until we get to that part. See, under any other typical circumstance your points would've been deducted. For each contributions you give to the Society, you gain a certain amount of points. Gain enough and you'll be eligible for promotion. Fail us however.."

Aoi: "This must've been a great failure."

Kanon: "Not at first, or it wouldn't have been if it wasn't for him."

Aoi: "What do you mean?"

Kanon: "That detective who bested you. He was eventually shrunk down, turned into a shrinky. By all accounts his disposal should've been imminent but instead even when he was but a meager cm tall, he still bested you."

…

Aoi: "Wait, what?"

Kanon: "I know, right? It's so ridiculous. So utterly fucking ridiculous that it's actually kinda funny if you think about it. A little ant manages to topple a mountain."

Kanon hugs herself.

Kanon: "How embarrassing. For this second failure, one to a shrinky there would've been serious concern about your placement in the Society."

Aoi: "Wait. How do you know about that?"

Kanon: "Ho? Is that something you recall?"

Aoi: "No I-"

Kanon: "In case you want to know, I didn't quite know it at the time."

…

Kanon: "I had help. One of our other members had informed me."

Aoi: "I see."

Kanon: "Yes, well if that were it then for such a pathetic show of performance all your privileges would've been put on hold."

Duusu: "For that?!"

Aoi: "Silence."

The magic of the Miraculous erases my kwami's mouth, rendering it unable to speak.

Aoi: "Continue."

Kanon: "Huh. Didn't know you quite had it fucking in you. You're nearly as cruel as I am. Anyhow, where was I again?"

Aoi: "You were talking about that shrinky detective."

Kanon: "Ah yes. So that little dipshit detective manages to cause you major pain despite being a shrinky. Other than my little informant and me, no one else knows about this. Come the next day we get a report that the Vice Director's Arachne had been utterly trounced by a sole shrinky, the same detective who had came in to Yabaize the previous day. That ditzy clutz who always follows Miawa around.. She took care of it, took care of the problem by just eating it but there was just one problem."

Aoi: "He beat his way out? But no. Erika was still with us. I remember. If she really was beat up, she would've needed-"

Kanon: "Tsk, tsk. I was under the impression that you had nearly forgotten everything. Are your memories coming back a lot faster now?"

I nod my head slowly.

Kanon: "Well that's quite fortunate. No fucking serious. It would be a bummer if I had to explain every nook and cranny."

Aoi: "By the way. Why are you telling me all of this? What's it to you?"

Kanon: "Fufufu. You'll find out. You'll find out very soon. So Mr. Dipshit detective gets eaten but he gets out. Then on October 12, 2012 all hell breaks loose. At this point because there was now ample evidence that the shrinky you failed to exterminate could've been dangerous if left unchecked, your disciplinary actions were to be increased. For this mishap. Your shrinky privileges were to be revoked and the profits you brought back home were to be reduce to a 4th."

Aoi: "A 4th."

Kanon: "Mind you this was only suppose to be temporary. A quarter of a year. You also would only be receiving a 4th of the points that you would normally get for any contributions made. By the way, I did mentioned that I have a younger brother.. Or more accurately I used to have one. What about you? Do you still recall the values of your family?"

Aoi: "I… mom was an accountant. Dad was a.. defense attorney? No wait. An officer of the law- er, chef?!"

Kanon raises an eyebrow.

Kanon: "Pweh? Even that's gone? Your mother was an accountant, yes and your father worked as a street vendor. As for your siblings, you had one younger brother; Nataka. Oh how you would dote on them. Your parents would dote on you but then again, they had no ideal what it was that you did at the Society. Had they known.. Hmgh hmr hmm… Ah. Now Nataka. He had his suspicions. You relayed that well to us but thankfully with some tough loving percussive persuasion from you, you were able to get him to see the error of his ways."

Aoi: "And I did this how?"

Kanon: "By roughing the little dickhead up. It was about, I don't know. November of 2011? Anyways, you brought him in in order to test the Society's rejuvenating technology after you almost over did yourself and killed him."

Aoi: "I see. So he must've been very important to me. Nataka. I'll remember that."

Kanon: "Yes, well that's enough fucking around in the past. Now it's about time I tell you about that day that would alter your very course."

October 12, 2012. The day that this form was activated. At last I can find out about why I became like this. Here goes.

Kanon: "Through a series of events one leading to another, that little detective had regained his full stature. He of course had some help of his own. Both from some of the escaped shrinkies and our shrinky slaves as well that now oversized pea brained assistant of his, Oriku Narue. Together along with some ordinary high schooler, Kyon the 3 of them bested 2 of the Heavenly Queens. Mizuho and Tetsuko. Narue didn't participate directly with the detective's battle against Mizuho, but because of her actions, that little detective was able to breach past our securities and regain his full size along with his compatriarchs. It is at this point that it can no longer be denied that this detective is actually a threat to our operations, moreover Reina's been sorely disappointed with you. So much was put on your shoulders and she expected much. But like the cunt you are, you failed and so realizing what this could possibly mean you ran."

Aoi: "I ran?"

Kanon: "Or, at least that's what it looked like. Or more to it, what I heard. I don't very much know the details myself. Perhaps you were trying to run away. Or was it that you hoping to make some last minute preparations in order to finally get the jump on that detective who had humiliated you. In any case I had cornered you along with another researcher, Saki Kojimiwa. The Director, in her foresight had foresaw that one of you, Saki most likely, would try to circumvent your punishment and so I was tasked to intercept you two. You were then brought before us Heavenly Queens along with Miku, Erika and Miawa to determine the appropriate punishment for your failures. And then that's when you did it."

I did what?...

So far everything she says makes it sound like I must've either attacked or-

No!

Aoi: "I requested it. Didn't I."

Kanon claps her hands.

Kanon: "Yes. Color me fucking surprise you did. And do you want to know the reason for that is?

Of course I know. There's only 1 logical answer to this.

Aoi: "Revenge."

Kanon: "Yes. So your request gets approved and for all your efforts it amounts to nothing. Oh well you first re-emerged as our first combat humanoid you actually managed to get that detective some serious trouble but in the end he turned you to scrap metal. How sad it was really, but at least I had no part in that."

Aoi: "No part in-"

Kanon: "Whoops! I've already said too much but don't you worry."

Aoi: "Don't worry?"

Kanon: "Ah. You're too slow on the uptake, aren't you, you metallic hunk of metal. Well thanks to that detective you had lost everything. Your pride, prestige, privileges and even your own humanity, albeit that one was on you entirely. Haha! I honestly wasn't expecting you to make that silly blunder. What an idiot."

Aoi: "An idiot… (sigh) So. Who's this detective?"

Kanon: "You Chijinda."

Chi-ji-n-da…

Ch-iji-nda…

ChijindaChijindaChijindAndajindAchjinDa~!

Kanon: "Huah?! Did that bring back another memory? Of course it should've. He's the one who ruined you. But of course he can't share all of the blame."

Aoi: "What do you mean?"

Kanon: "Pfft. You really are an idiot. All those traps and machinations you set up? The security bot that should've made short notice of him? And how about the fact Erika needed to go take a shit shortly after she ate the little trepid detective?"

Duusu: "You. You did all of this."

Since when?!

I never authorize Duusu to be able to speak so how does he have his mouth ba-

Kanon: "Fwah~! I was hoping you wouldn't spoil my fun you little kwami."

Duusu folds his arms and shakes his head.

Duusu: "Of course I wouldn't expect anything much out of you."

Kanon raises an eyebrow.

Kanon: "Oh? So you know me."

Duusu nods.

Duusu: "Quite."

Aoi: "That's enough. Whether Kanon had any part in my downfall from the Society or not is irrelevant at hand. What I want to know is WHERE IS HE!?"

Duusu: "A-Aoi?!"

Huh?

What just went over me just now?

Aoi: "Ahem! What I meant to say was what happened after that?"

Kanon: "After that… Hm. I don't know."

Aoi: "You don't know?"

Kanon: "No seriously I don't and that's about the only thing left I have to tell you."

Aoi: "I see."

Kanon: "Oh! There is but one more thing."

Aoi: "And that is?"

Kanon: "Remember when I said you used to have a loving family? Well against my peers wishes I went and took them as collateral."

Aoi: "You.. you took my family?!"

Kanon: "Aww. What's it to you?"

Aoi: "They're my family, my property, mine."

Kanon: "Oh hush yourself. Geez, so what if I stole them from you. No big deal. Besides I was only borrowing them for a moment. Heh. For someone who just learned they lost their family, you're taking this with much stride. So what is it to you then? Do you not even value them?"

Aoi: "Value? Of course I do. They're mine."

Kanon: "Yeah but you're acting like the only value they fucking have of substance is that of a pebble or a french fry."

Kanon rolls her eyes.

Kanon: "Sheesh! If they really are important to you, then start acting like it. Or is that you've forgotten the value they hold to you? I'd say you're not even upset. You're just going through the motions!"

This. Now this was something Aoi couldn't deny. What did she feel inside to this revelation?

Aoi: "I…"

Kanon: "Like a fucking record player on repeat you double timing slut. But here. I'll tell you one more thing that will-"

Aoi: "I do not comprehend- no. That's irrelevant. You've told me everything I need to know."

Duusu shakes his head.

Duusu: "She hasn't."

Kanon: "You're right, little shit. I haven't. Don't you wanna know what happened to that detective afterwards? That Chijinda?"

…

Aoi: "I do. That is important, moreover what happened to my family? You said that you gave them back to me so how come-"

Kanon: "You killed them."

…

Aoi blinks then slowly steps backwards. 1 step, 2 steps..

Aoi: "I- no. This has to be a mistake."

Aoi places both hands on her ears.

Aoi: "I did not I did not I did not I did not I did not I did not I did not-... No… What proof do you even have that I eliminated them? How do I know you're not lying?"

Kanon: "Aw. Are you mad? Furious?"

Aoi shakes her head.

Aoi: "Hardly. I don't even know what that word means."

Kanon: "More like you've forgotten what it meant to have fury!"

Aoi shrugs.

Aoi: "Could be. At the very least I'm a bit surprised at myself for wasting such an asset. It's unfathomable to me. Ah yes. Chijinda. Since he had a part in causing me to become what I am, I need to deal with him as well."

Kanon: "So he can learn what it means to cross paths with you?"

Aoi nods.

Aoi: "His punishment is nigh. I will find him and kill him with my own two hands. But first; the Disk. Give it to me."

Kanon: "Ah yes. You're still driven by revenge against that shitty detective, but don't worry. You won't have to worry about that."

Aoi: "What are you-"

Kanon: "Because Chijinda You is no more."

Kanon grins. Of course in Aoi's current state she had no ideal that her face expression was a smile.

Kanon: "Haha! Yes. I, Kosui Kanon managed to do what none of those other fuckwads at the Society couldn't even managed. I killed Chijinda! And as for that assistant of his, Narue's sleeping at the bottom of the ocean with the fishies."

Duusu: "I-impossible! You couldn't have done this alone. Narue's a towering 73.03m giantess! You had to have had some help somewhere. Not to mention-"

Kanon: "Pff. Talk all you want, ya shit. How does it feel, you hunk of metal? After coming all this way only to discover that the target of your obsessive revenge has been taken from you, stolen? Oh, but you can't even process what it means to be angry right now. You're just that broken. Oh and about that Disk you wanted?"

Aoi: "Give it to me."

Kanon: "Oh I'll give it to you alright. Over my dead body!"

At that very instant Duusu flickered out of Aoi's perception.

Kanon: "What!? No!"

With a sudden flash, Kanon had attempted to skewer Aoi only to discover that she had suddenly vanished along with her kwami Duusu. This ambush… while they talked Kanon had surrounded the room they were in with vines. Unless that miserable blue mongrel was teleported out, there was absolutely no way she should've escaped.

Aoi's POV

For a brief moment while I was talking to Kanon, my kwami disappeared. This could only be possible if he dismissed Transceiver, the sentimonster that Duusu created in order to allow smooth communication between the both of us and since one of the first commands I gave him was to not dismissed that sentimonster…

Of course ever since that incident back on December 28, 2012 I've started to realize I may need to take some precautions. What if I got into a situation where I couldn't quite escape from? And my control over the sentimonsters I create for myself are practically non-existent so then I'll need to address this possible scenario. Teleported to my base in the Azabu-Juban Station in a brief moment Duusu reappeared before me.

Duusu: "So. How'd I do?"

Kanon still has one of my memory Disk, at least that's what I presume. Since I can't pry it from her hands, I'll have no choice but to kill her. But that's going to be a problem.. Unless.

Glancing over at the opened box on the countertop table I ponder my options for a moment.

Aoi: "You know what to do."

Duusu: "Right."

Aoi: "Duusu. Spread my feathers."

With a flash of navy blue I transformed into my Miraculous form. I then pick up 3 of those strange triangular devices within the box and following their instructions, deploy them. As soon as I stepped inside their area of influence, Duusu appears.

…

Yosuzume: "So that's what this little triangular device does."

Hm.. If this can separate me from my power source in a manner of speaking then…

Flying outside I find one of Kanon's vines and as a test run I place a couple of these A.P.H generating devices around encircling some of Kanon's vines.

Yosuzume: "I see."

The vines within the APH field are attacking the ones outside, which means those vines along with Kanon are not the same entity. In other words there may be a possibility for victory this time around. I quickly head back into the Azabu-Juban Station into my office where I had deployed my first APH field test run. Picking up one of those APH generating devices I turn to address my kwami.

Yosuzume: "Listen very carefully Duusu. I need you to create a sentimonster that'll allow me to teleport."

Duusu: "I can do that, but as soon as you exit this field that sentimonster that allows you to teleport will cease to exist.

Yosuzume: "I see. In that case we'll just teleport this field around with us wherever I go."

Duusu: "And how do you plan on doing that?"

Yosuzume: "By making sure that the Peacock Miraculous will never leave this field."

Duusu: "You mean-"

Yosuzume: "I don't need you to prevent me from leaving this field. I just need you to create a sentimonster that will make it as though I've- the Peacock Miraculous specifically has never left this field."

Duusu: "Even if I do that, there's a chance something disastrous might happen once you leave."

Yosuzume: "Which is why you'll create another sentimonster. One that make the current position of the Peacock Miraculous undefined."

Duusu nods.

Yosuzume: "Under these circumstances and with this device, can you manage?"

Duusu: "I believe I can."

Yosuzume: "I'll be counting on you then."

Duusu's POV

Today's January 27, 2012. 3 weeks earlier…

Location; Aoi's office located within the Azabu-Juban Station

Aoi: "I've ordered you not to destroy that sentimonster that allows us to interact in a meaningful way. Now that I have discovered there are forces out there which can pose as a threat to me even in my Miraculous form, I know I need to prepare myself in case I'm ever in a situation that I can't win. Hence why from now on here's an addendum to that command. You shall continue to not dismiss that sentimonster except under the following criteria:"

There was no other way around it. Knowing Kanon, of course she'd try a sneak attack. Without hesitating and because I had previously been ordered to as the result of the magic of the Miraculous forcing me to obey the commands of the holder of the Peacock Miraculous I dispel Transceiver's amok.

When a command is issued to a kwami, other than the APH field, each command is absolute. For example, when Aoi commands me to be silent the magic of the Miraculous forces me to obey. It erases my mouth, however in turn that means I can't verbally warn her of incoming danger. Should she then order me to speak, my mouth reappears. Commands can also have conditions. By her orders I am not to dismiss Transceiver except in the scenario where in order to get her to safety, Transceiver's dismissal is necessary in order to ensure the safety of Aoi. Once I've secure a safe location for Aoi I am then to recreate Transceiver.

Like ordering a kwami to not speak unless spoken to. Under that command our mouths disappear except when someone else speaks to us and then only then do our mouths reappear but for a short time.

Of course sometimes our holders order us kwamis to do stuff that is flat out impossible and whenever that happens, we are not forced to obey orders which we cannot do. An example of this is when Aoi tried to command me to answer her after I had completely exhausted myself with the destruction of the APH generating machines back on December 28, 2012. Because I had been completely exhausted to the point where I had lost all my energy and was essentially knocked out, the magic of the Miraculous was not able to force me to obey her commands at the time until I had recovered enough strength to do so.

As soon as Yosuzume had stepped into the APH field she had generated via the strange triangular devices, a pulse of navy blue appeared before her eyes. Duusu.

Yosuzume: "So that's what this little triangular device does."

Formulating a hypothesis in her mind, as soon as Yosuzume had fled outside of the APH field she had generated, Duusu despawned. There was just one thing she was curious about. Those vines that Kanon controls. Are they hers are…

Yosuzume: "I see."

The answer to that is no. Heading back to the APH field inside her base, Yosuzume begins to explain her plan to defeat Kanon to Duusu.

Yosuzume: "Listen very carefully Duusu. I need you to create a sentimonster that'll allow me to teleport."

Duusu: "I can do that, but as soon as you exit this field that sentimonster that allows you to teleport will cease to exist.

Yosuzume: "I see. In that case we'll just teleport this field around with us wherever I go."

Duusu: "And how do you plan on doing that?"

Yosuzume: "By making sure that the Peacock Miraculous will never leave this field."

Duusu: "You mean-"

Yosuzume: "I don't need you to prevent me from leaving this field. I just need you to create a sentimonster that will make it as though I've- the Peacock Miraculous specifically has never left this field."

Duusu: "Even if I do that, there's a chance something disastrous might happen once you leave."

Yosuzume: "Which is why you'll create another sentimonster. One that make the current position of the Peacock Miraculous undefined."

Duusu nods.

Yosuzume: "Under these circumstances and with this device, can you manage?"

Duusu: "I believe I can."

Having explained the basis of her plan to Duusu quickly created 2 more amoks using the feathers he had been carrying.

Duusu: Schrodinger. I am Duusu, the kwami of the Peacock and your creator. Set the position of the Peacock Miraculous to undefined. Definer. The Peacock Miraculous has never left this APH field. That is the statement defined.

Yosuzume: "Is it done?"

Duusu nods.

The city of Tokyo is now covered with weeds, Kanon's weeds. Other than a few safe havens every single scrap of Tokyo Japan is covered by the cruel queen's vines. Sitting atop a throne fashioned from chiseled ivory, Kanon sipped a small triangular glass of martini.

Kanon: "Swim swimm. Hahaha! Ya better swim like your fucking life counts on it, dickwad!"

And of course within Kanon's glass cup are several shrinkies all desperately swimming for their lives in desperation and utter fear. Of course given Kanon's reputation, some don't bother and simply allow themselves to get swallowed. There is no hope for them after all. Kanon licks her lips.

Kanon: "Which one? Which one? Huah~ Shall I eat you and have you cunt sucker die a slow and agonizing death by my stomach acids? Ooh! I wonder how it will end. C'mon. Take a dip. It's like having a nice warm jacuzzi, an ocean really! Come on in. It's nice and warm and oh who the fuck am I kidding?"

Naturally the shrinkies inside of Kanon's drink don't believe her for one second.

Duusu: "Yo bitch!"

Hearing this Kanon causally gets up with her martini still in her left hand and turns around to face the little strange flying blue creature.

Kanon: "You're a kwami, aren't you? Duusu is it? Where's that hunk of metal? She has to be somewhere nearby. I'mma pulverize her to the ground and take you as my slave as well!"

Duusu: "Hmph. So you're well informed. Indeed. Aoi's nearby but you'll never get to her."

Kanon: "Oh yeah? And what makes you so sure?"

Kanon sneers.

Kanon: "Have you forgotten? I know all about her past as an ex-member of the Advanced Society hence I know all of her tricks and what's she capable of."

Duusu nods.

Duusu: "True. Prior knowledge would give you a benefit to combat but the past doesn't define us. Misjudge us and you're going to find yourself in a world of hurt."

Kanon rolls her eyes.

Kanon: "Blah blah blah. You talk too much. Listen here you little shit. Once I kill Aoi, I'll be your new master! This world will become my fucktoy!"

Duusu rolls his eyes.

Duusu: "No, I don't think so. In fact, I'd say today's going to be your last day. You. You took Aoi's humanity and twisted her into this mechanical abomination."

Duusu: "Whether or not you did is irrelevant. We are going to pound your ass to the ground and recover all of Aoi's humanity! Maybe then she won't be such a mindless killer."

Shaking his head Duusu places one stubby arm on his forehead.

Duusu: "Hmph."

Duusu flies behind Kaon"

Kanon: "I doubt that. She still took part in all of our experiments back at the Advanced Sciencees Society. With glee I may add and you know what? She enjoyed every fucking last second of it. Gah! Do you know the thrills you can get? Your girl's just a dirty little bitch just like me."

Duusu: "Perhaps that was true in the past and maybe that's how she truly is. But at the same time, had she never joined this Society… no. I can't say that. Kanon: "I'll rip you apart just like I killed all those other poseurs."

Kanon: "What?! Again? Grrr. Just where did that little bitch run off to this time?"

Yosuzume's POV

I've been teleported right outside of this building, just below the floor space of the 30th floor, the floor where Kanon is currently.

Kanon: "C'mon! C'mon! Stop hiding you little bitch."

It's impossible to even damage her and if she gets a good grip on me, I'll be destroyed. Sure there's that kwami's sentimonster that's teleporting me around but considering those last couple of close calls I've had, I'd say I'd best not rely on it.

A couple of vines lunge at Yosuzume.

Yosuzume dodges and weaves around the vines.

Yosuzume takes out a smartphone and begins typing on it

Kanon: "There you are!"

Yosuzume flees.

I see one of them nod. Thus that confirms they are aware which can only mean they're being forced into this losing battle, or at the least against an opponent they can't beat directly."

She must've placed me as the subject of some rumour! That's why those vines are chasing after me. Taking a glance at my arsenal I see that I only have 20 more freeze rounds left. Using them now would be pointless. There has to be a better way to shake them off my tail.

Yosuzume crashes into a glass window on the 22nd floor. There's a heavy steel door in this room.

Yosuzume throws a smoke grenade right behind her.

I quickly exit the room through the heavy steel door which I do not destroy.

Yosuzume: "Duusu, fall my feathers."

I'm at a T-section hallway. I begin running to my left and then to my right, 2nd left, 3rd right, right again. Now that I've transformed, those vines shouldn't-

Kanon: "Yes. Haha. His desperate pleas were wonderful. Now you're going to die just as well."

Kanon: "Ah, I see that you tried to place me as the subject of a rumour. Heh. So you've finally figured out how my new powers work, but alas. See? They're not attacking me."

I spit to my side. By now Kanon's weeds have strangled me so badly that I only have 1 Hp left.

Kanon begins reaching for the Peacock Miraculous.

Kanon: "You can't beat me! There's nothing left in this fucking world that can stand to a Queen like me."

Kanon grabs the Peacock Miraculous.

Kanon: "Hehehe eh wahahaha! Yes, now thE mIraCulouS! is Mine! gaHahaha!"

I roll my eyes.

Yosuzume: "Are you sure?"

Kanon looks closely at the Peacock Miraculous in her hand.

I've been teleported away from Yosuzume thanks to Schrodinger. All of Tokyo's covered by Kanon's weeds but with this horrendous device, her reign can be put to an end.

Duusu: Schrodinger. Focus on teleporting me for now. I need to place these APH generating devices all over Tokyo.

While I'm inside these APH fields, my nature to phase is halted. There's only a limited amount of these APH generating devices. If I have to make an estimate…

There's simply not even enough to cover all of Tokyo, but maybe I don't have to.

Duusu: Schrodinger. Where's Aoi right now?

Schrodinger: She's at the airspace between the 29th and 30th floor space of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower.

Duusu: I see. Teleport me back there. I'm going to set these devices and rip that power source right out of Kanon!

Oh. That's right. Schrodinger's power is to set the coordinates of a selected target to undefined which means it has no actual control over what destination point the target is teleported to. I start to head outside of the Azabu-Juban Station. As I make my way there I am attacked by Kanon's vines. Looks like I was right. I've been placed as the subject of a rumour hence why these vines can target me and my phasing nature is halted right now soI'll have to weave my way through.

Duusu begins weaving through Kanon's vines which are chasing after him!

Grr. These vines are so persistent

Duusu randomly throws 3 APH generating devices in 3 random direction!

Kanon had caught a glimpse of Duusu and more importantly of the small triangular device the kwami had just finished placing onto the ground. A triangular formation and she was caught dead in the center of it. Suddenly the ground started shaking. Not just the ground but the very building itself.

Random Yakuza mook: "Uh… I don't know about you guys but I think we really should be getting of here."

Random Yakuza mook 2: "Not if I get out of here first!"

With Kanon's goons brushing past each other in order to make it to the elevator or the stairs, Duusu quietly gave Yosuzume an X-potion. By now Kanon had returned to normal but there was no time to be concerned about her. Flying out of the building, Yosuzume could hear the sounds of metal, glass and concrete being torn apart like tissue paper. When she had flown a considerable distance away from the Roppongi Tower, Yosuzume turned around to face a gigantic weed with shades, red lipstick and blond hair? Well upon a second glance at this gigantic plant creature which was the size of the Roppongi Tower Yosuzume could see that the blond hair was actually a bunch of florets, false flowers or more specifically a cluster of flower buds that resembles a flower but is actually a collection of flowers. Dangling in its right hand- er, leafy grasp was the ex-Queen of cruelty, Kosui Kanon.

Gigantic Weed: "You… "

Kanon: "Uggh.."

Kanon blinked her eyes. She was coming to. To everyone present it was obvious that this gigantic weed was legitimately pissed off!

Gigantic Weed: "You tricked me, used me…"

Kanon rolls her eyes.

Kanon: "Yeah and? What are you going to do about it? Spread a rumour to tarnish my reputation, Miss Rumour Weed?"

The Rumour Weed shakes her head.

Rumour Weed: "No. You clearly don't even care about your reputation you piece of work. There's no point in wasting time on dirt like you."

Yosuzume: "Hold the phone, miss Rumour Weed."

Rumour Weed: "Yes?"

Yosuzume: "I still have some unfinished business with hers truly."

Yosuzume fires a couple of rounds into Kanon's forehead.

Yosuzume: "Keep her there like that."

Rumour Weed: "Hmm… Okay."

Kanon rolls her eyes as I continue to unload my munition into her forehead.

Kanon: "Great. So this is how I go out in the end. How lame."

Rumour Weed: "Pfft. It's more than you even deserve."

Kanon: "Wha-"

Before Kanon could say another word the Rumour Weed simply popped her like a grape with her right leafy hand and at the same time another bullet from Yosuzume's muzzle had struck her bringing her Hp down to 0. The deed was now done. With Kanon no longer alive thanks to the combined efforts of both Yosuzume and the Rumour Weed, the two nodded at each other.

Yosuzume: "That concludes my business with you."

Yosuzume begins flying away-

Rumour Weed: "Not so fast!"

The Rumour Weed tries to grab Yosuzume only for the combat humanoid to just simply flicker away.

Rumour Weed: "-tch. Cheapskate."

There was simply no point in dealing with that teleporting hunk of metal. Even if she did managed to catch her, she'd just teleport away again.

Rumour Weed: "Oh well."

With the entrails of the Cruel Queen splattered everywhere, the Rumour Weed wiped her leafy hands having looked pleased in her act. And then that's when the Rumour Weed had noticed it.

This place- no, this world. She was no longer in Bumblyburg or even the Great Idea's universe for that matter. Still looking around at the clearly frightened populace some who were even beginning to prostrate themselves before her like she was some sort of-

Shogi: Oh Yosuzume was it?

Rumour Weed: "You may begin worshiping your new goddess."

The Rumour Weed cackles savoring the people's fear. She especially took notice of some of the rather small ones, only about a cm in height. Her vision was just that good.

Yosuzume: Yes?

Rumour Weed: "First order of business. You'll keep me well fed. Those who do not will be- !"

The Rumour Weed starts coughing.

Rumour Weed: "Wha? What's going on?!"

Shogi: I managed to install POW to the Japan Radio Tower.

Yosuzume: I see. Excellent work. Come to the usual. Your reward will be waiting.

Rumour Weed: "No.. No! Where is it?! How can this be!"

With no rumours to sustain her the Rumour Weed quickly shriveled up and died. Shogi's sentimonster POW had done its work of ceasing all forms of unverified information from spreading about or passing through the airspace of Tokyo, Japan and that's when Yosuzume had found it. A cd, lying dead smacked where Kanon's remains would've been. True to her words though she hadn't intended to, Yosuzume's prize awaited her now that Kanon was dead.

Yosuzume's POV

Picking up the disk I see that there's no physical harm on it. Strange. If this thing really contains a portion of my humanity, of my memories as a human, then why didn't she just toss this away or even damage it? Perhaps it's not a matter of why but of if.

Looking around I see the remains of Kanon's syndicate army.

Yosuzume: "If you want to live, follow me."

I raise my high bore laser emitter and melt the nearest bystander.

Yosuzume: "This is not an offering. You will do as I say now."

Half an hour later…

It didn't take much of anything. With but a simple show of force I was able to get all of Kanon's former goons to swear their loyalty to me. It was either that or I would melt them all to their bones. As for that disk that I found, turns out it was nothing more than an ordinary disk. Kanon was just bluffing so I guess that means items which are dropped by bosses are exempt from being destroyed. Makes sense I guess. Still, it's not like this key item which turned out to be an ordinary disk isn't without its use. Since it's an empty disk, I can use it to try out something that I've been pondering recently:

What happens if I copy the contents of a memory pck to an empty disk?

It's a thought worth experimenting on..

I shake my head. I don't understand why I'm contemplating this.

Anyways first there is a simple manner of business to which I must attend to.

Yosuzume: "You!"

I snap my fingers calling to attention the 3 ex-members of Kanon's yakuza syndicate that I had brought into my office.

Yosuzume: "Find all of these machines scattered throughout Tokyo. If I'm not mistaken, the bulk of these devices should be along the path from Azabu-Juban to the Roppongi Tower."

I show them the APH-generating device and dismiss them. Can't have those machines up and running about, lest my kwami harbors thoughts of rebellion against me. I of course destroyed the APH-field I had set off in my office first and as a result, Duusu was reabsorb back into my Peacock Miraculous. And so, provided I don't see Duusu again unless I detransform, I ought not to worry about those APH fields.

I nod.

In the meanwhile, I think I'll take a look at Kanon's hideout. Perhaps I'll find what I am looking for there.

Taking a step outside my office and through the subway station I motion to a couple of thugs.

Yosuzume: "Come with me. We're going to ransack your former boss's hideout."

Since they used to work for her they would obviously need to know where to meet up with her. We entered Kanon's lair located at the Glistening Compass headquarters. Considering that her base was here, I wonder what the connection is? If I were to harbor a guess, I'd say Kanon must've been a high-ranking official of the Glistening Compass or more likely its founder… which is strange considering that all available records indicate that the Glistening Compass is a non-profit charity organization of goodwill and Kanon, well she has no good will. Something else must be going on here.

After transversing Kanon's base and losing roughly 35% of Kanon's former thugs who in this case would now be mine or roughly 473. A small number to be sure but with their contributions, I did not have to waste my time going through this death trap labyrinth. Of course none of those traps would've been able to hurt me and now that I know where they are, I can improve on them. After all, I'll be adding this place to mine as well once I've figured out its layout. Additionally I have managed to find another disk which is restricted. Assuming this pattern remains true, this must be another one of my Memory Pcks.

Yosuzume: "And now for a little experiment… interesting."

I've managed to clone the contents of this restricted disk onto the empty cd. Of course for some reason the restriction has also been copied. Now that I have entertained that inquiry of mine, it's time I viewed its contents.

Yosuzume: "Duusu, fall my feathers."

Actually on second thought, why am I even detransforming just to absorb the contents of these disks? If these things were truly meant for me, then it shouldn't matter what form I take. Miraculous or not I am still the same person.

Aoi: "Duusu, spread my feathers."

After transforming back I reach for the original restricted disk. My hand touches it and-

Now I'm at the hospital.A young female doctor and a male nurse come in.

Doctor: "Greetings-"

Doctor: "Oh. My bad. You must still be in shock. Don't worry. You're in good and capable hands. We'll take care of you."

I slowly nod my head.

Nurse: "Hey uh, I don't mean to pry but could we have like a name or something?"

The doctor and the nurse. They look very concerned.

Now there's black bile on my hospital sheets. I must've vomited it out. I feel weak, sick even. There's a knock on the door. A couple of teenage girls step in.

My hearing.

It rings out.

Pretty soon all I hear is silence and my vision.

It's faltering, like I'm trying so damn hard to stay awake.

I blink.

Now I'm at a totally different hospital. Out of the corner of my eye I see a gold-plated plaque. It says something about dedicated to- by the Society. The Advanced Sciences Society. I must've been transferred over. They must've taken me in. For the following weeks to come, I live with them and life. It's decent.

Yosuzume blinked her eyes a couple of times. What an experience that Memory Pck was. With 3 of them collected so far all that remained were the remaining 4.

Yosuzume spins around to find herself face to face with some woman in a business suit. Yosuzume leaps back and begins to point her 7mm Luger at the intruder. The woman simply smirks.

Business woman: "Go ahead. Shoot me. You'll find that I can't actually die."

Yosuzume lowers her gun.

Yosuzume: "What are you, another supernatural entity?"

The business woman shakes her head.

Business woman: "Not exactly."

Yosuzume: "Wait. I know you. You're that news anchor woman, Tania Katashi."

Tania: "In a manner of speaking I am. By the way, Did you enjoy that gift I gave you? Oh, you must not understand. I'm talking about those machines you used to defeat Kanon."

Yosuzume: "Those APH-generating devices?"

Tania: "Oh that's what he's been calling them? Hm. Has he truly forgotten or is he trying to forget, I can't tell. Ah! My bad. Here I go, talking to myself again. Still what a sight that was! And that huge weed that came out afterwards.. Of course no one could have defeated it."

Tania's voice suddenly dropped to a whisper.

Tania: "Not unless they had some supernatural help. Or maybe something entirely anomalous…"

Yosuzume's POV

Wha-!?

My Miraculous.

I'm detransforming on my own? Without even saying the words of detransformation? How is that possible?!

Duusu: "You!"

Wait. Why is Duusu chasing after Tania? And that expression on his face. I don't understand it.

Tania: "Whoa! Hold it there little buddy. Don't you recognize me?"

Tania begins running around the conference room while Duusu gives chase.

Tania: "The form may be different but I assure you it's still me. By the way. What do you think of my new body?"

Duusu: "Of course I know it's you. Damn you son of a bitch!"

Wait. Do these 2 have some sort of history together or something.

Tania: "Hey. Right now I'm a bitch."

Tania's eyes roll over to her right.

Tania: "Or more specifically this body's a cisfemale. That is how they say it, right?"

Duusu picks up a nearby knife and hurls it at Tania.

Tania dodges.

Duusu quickly picks up the knife and presumes chasing after Tania.

Duusu: "You. Grrr. Wayzz, Trixx, Pollen and even Tikki."

Duusu slashes at Tania who barely manages to block the blow to her windpipe in time.

Duusu: "You tortured my friends, had your goons experiment on them.."

Overwhelmed by Duusu's onslaught Tania fell on her buttocks.

Duusu: "Damn you."

Duusu shakes his head.

Duusu: "I didn't want to think- no. I didn't want to believe it but it was true after all."

Duusu punches Tania.

Duusu: "I'll kill you! I'll kill you I swear!"

Tania: "How? No matter how many times you kill me Duusu, there will always be more of me. You can't beat me."

Duusu: "Shut up!"

Duusu begins to thrust the knife into Tania's throat however before the little kwami could even penetrate the skin, I called out.

Aoi: "Duusu. Stop."

Pointing my high bore laser emitter at myself I fired.

Duusu: "Wha- What are you doing?!"

Aoi: "I don't know what your history with Tania is but if you insist on disobeying my orders, I will melt myself."

Duusu: "But-"

Aoi: "Leave her be."

I see Duusu exhale.

Aoi: "I have business with her."

Duusu: "Grr…"

Duusu throws down the knife it was carrying and phases through Tania. Once it gets to the other side, it spins around to face me with its stubby little arms folded and its eyes burrowed. Lowering a hand I pull Tania up.

Tania: "Ah. Thank you very much."

Aoi: "Don't thank me. I don't even understand what that word means."

I help Tania over to the conference table.

Aoi: "Now. Let's talk."

Tania: "Okay."

Aoi: "First thing I want to know is, why did my kwami attack you? What's your history with it?"

Tania: "Ah that. Hatred."

Aoi: "Hatred?"

Tania: "Yes, there's no doubt about it. Me and Duusu go a long way back, not this body particularly but over the iterations he has come to know me. We are like best buds."

Duusu: "Shut up."

Tania: "Oh he hates, that's for sure."

Aoi: "Hold it."

Tania: "Hm?"

Aoi: "How do I know you're not lying?"

Non POV

Tania smiled as she took out a small circular disk.

Tania: "I'm handing this over to you. Now, what is your name?"

Aoi: "Sarah."

Immediately the small circular disk in Tania's hand shattered. Dropping the remains of the broken disk Tania simply pulls out another from her breast pocket and places it on the table.

Tania: "Try melting it."

Aoi fires her high bore laser emitter at the disk on the table.

Tania: "You'll find that no matter what you do, this disk is impervious to all manners of physical harm."

Aoi: "Even magical?"

Tania nods her head.

Tania: "Even anomalous. That is simply its property. However… Duusu is your master."

Immediately the disk shatters. Tania pulls another one from her breast pocket.

Tania: "This one is for myself. Oh don't worry. I have plenty more of these left but as for lives… I'm afraid this is the only one I've got."

And again the disk shatters. Without even hesitating Tania pulls out another one from her breast pocket.

Tania: "Another one for myself in case you're not convinced. Try saying a false statement."

Aoi: "This is not a Miraculous."

Nothing happens.

Tania: "Ah. You have to be more specific otherwise it won't work."

Aoi: "I have the Snake Miraculous."

Once again the disk in Tania's hand shatters.

Aoi: "Hm…"

Tania: "By the way, these disks only shatter when the entity to whom they are bound to tells a falsehood."

Aoi: "What if they are not aware of that falsehood?"

Tania: "In that case they won't break. They only shatter when whoever they are specifically bounded to tells a lie. Now with out of the way, let's begin our exchange."

Tania pulls out 2 more of the lie-detecting disks from her breast pocket.

Tania: "This one's for you…"

Tania sets down one of the lie detecting disks and slides it over to the wielder of the Peacock Miraculous.

Tania: "And this one's for me."

And places the second one in front of herself.

Tania: "Now. Let's talk. If you answer my questions, I'll answer yours but I need you to promise not to kill me afterwards."

Aoi: "Deal."

Tania: "First. What is your name?"

Aoi: "PRT1RTX.0037c. Wait. Why is it shaking?"

Tania: "Ah. Did I not explain that? Here. Let me give you an example. My name is Tania Katashi."

Aoi: "Yours is also trembling as well!"

Tania: "That's because what I just said is a technical truth."

Aoi: "A technical truth?"

Tania: "Moreover it's a paradoxical statement. It's true and yet at the same time it's not. I am Tania Katashi and yet at the same time I'm not."

Tania: "Now… Aoi! I take it you and Duusu have gotten acquainted with each other. How long's it been?"

Aoi shakes her head.

Aoi: "I refuse to answer that question. Ask me another one."

Tania: "Okay then. What are you supposed to be exactly?"

Aoi: "Let me see… at present what I can confidently say for certain is that I am the current holder of the Peacock Miraculous. By the way; how many questions do you have left for me?"

Tania: "Not much."

Aoi: "Be more specific."

Tania raises her ring, middle and index fingers of her left hand signaling 3.

Tania: "Do you know about the Advanced Sciences Society?"

Aoi shakes her head and Tania laughs.

Tania: "Ha! Please. Just answer me with your words, not with your body language."

Aoi: "Yes, I do. Now answer me in the same manner as well. Do you really only have 3 questions left for me?"

Tania: "No. More like 5. Next question. What is Duusu to you?"

Aoi: "My slave."

Tania: "Is that all?"

Aoi: "Nothing else to it."

Tania: "Since you worked at the Society, there's no doubt that sooner or later you would've learned about hers' truely, Kosui Kanon. The cruel Queen. As the former Queen of their counterintelligence and espionage department, Kanon is also the only member of their Heavenly Queens who already had a criminal past before joining their ranks. She is, well as of the moment was the leader of several crime syndicates. It would be accurate to say that she is the oyabun or kumichō. Now with her death this leaves behind a power vacuum. What are you planning to do about that?"

Aoi: "I… "

Tania: "You don't have to answer that one if you don't wish to. My only hope'll be that you'd at least be a much better leader than she ever was. Heh. Give a girl like that supernatural powers and of course she'd mishandled it."

Aoi: "Wha-"

Tania: "But of course. How else would I have been able to route out the Miraculous again?"

Aoi: "Again?"

Tania: "It's been so long but now I've finally confirmed it! They are in this world too. Oh don't worry about yours. It wouldn't be very cost effective for me to even dare of stealing it. I'd simply waste too many resources that way and besides I think we can work out a business arrangement."

Aoi: "And if I refuse?"

Tania: "Then it's simply no matter to me. I have plenty of time… plenty of potential hosts. Sooner or later you will lose your Miraculous and I'll continue our experiments anew."

Aoi: "Experiments?"

Tania: "Yes. I am a part of the Foundation."

Aoi looked with confusion.

Tania: "Ah. I see. Perhaps you've forgotten about us. During the Society's days we were one of their main suppliers and amongst their collaborators, we were one of the few who knew their true designs. I mean like, how else do you expect an organization like the Advanced Sciences Society to survive for as long as they did? Do you think they managed all on their own? No!" Duusu: "And so you're the ones who kept the full extent of their crimes against humanity obscured from the public. That's why they hired you."

Tania: "Partially. After their fall as per our agreement we hid and even provide the means to expunge their records and you know what? With our own technologies it was very simple. Just a little drink and those around you forget about the crimes you have committed. It was a very prosperous business arrangement. The same however cannot be said of Kanon. Even after all this time, she refuses to change. A complete menace who's only ambition is to be a complete bitch."

Duusu: "Heh. I see that's one thing we agree on."

Tania: "Yes, well I may have been the one to probe her to fuse with the Rumour Weed but even before that she constantly ignored my instructions to stay low. Her appetite for cruelty and wanton destruction knows no bounds."

Tania flexes her fingers.

Tania: "I know this'll sound harsh but all things considered, it's much better for everyone that she is dead. Now let me answer some of your questions. By now you must've realized that my Foundation is responsible for both allowing Kanon to fuse with that plant monster but also for the same technology that allowed you to separate those 2. Is there something else you'd like to know?"

Aoi: "Yes… no, first I'd ask you another question."

Tania: "Go ahead."

Aoi: "You seem quite familiar with the Miraculous. What's your experience with them?"

Tania: "Well you're not mistaken in your analysis. It would make sense for you to conclude that. Indeed, I am familiar with them, had some of my subordinates perform experiments on them.

Aoi: "And their results?"

Tania shakes her head.

Tania: "I'm afraid that's something you simply don't need to know."

Aoi: "Answer me this then. You said that your Foundation is responsible for providing the liquid substance that erases everyone's past knowledge of-"

Tania: "Amnestics. The substance you are referring to are amnestics."

Aoi: "Your Foundation was also the one who gave Kanon the means to supernatural.."

Tania nods her head.

Aoi: "But also the means to strip it away."

Tania: "Yes."

Aoi: "Considering that your Foundation is capable of doing all 'this, is your Foundation also responsible for getting my sentimonsters to rebel against me?"

Tania shakes her head.

Tania: "No."

Aoi: "Do you know what or who is?"

Tania: "Unfortunately I am not at liberty to disperse that piece of information with you."

Aoi: "Next up I'd like for you to explain about those devices that your Foundation gifted me."

Aoi opens up her chest cavity to pull out a APH-generating device.

Aoi: "This thing, this APH-generating device. What exactly does it do?"

Tania: "That device you have in your hand is an Amaleous Plsszyar-Ottoman Haerman phenomenon generator, or in other words a reality tearing contraption."

Aoi: "Reality tearing? So are the fields created these contraptions-"

Tania: "Tears in reality. To be more specific what our Apers Reality Renders do is the exact opposite of what the Scrantom Reality anchors do. They mess with hume levels in order to generate a field where binary values are toggled."
Aoi: "Explain."

Tania: "Okay. Think of it this way. Currently you hold the Peacock Miraculous. This would make you the holder or master of Duusu, pick whatever way you want to interpret that. If you were to enter one of those A.P.H fields, you would both simultaneously be and not be the current master of the Peacock Miraculous. Moreover Duusu wouldn't necessarily have to obey you while in those fields."

Aoi: "Wait. But that doesn'-"

Tania: "Are you Duusu's master?"

Aoi: "Yes."

Tania: "And a yes can be switched to a no."

Aoi: "..."

Tania: "Of course not every statement is a simple yes or no reality."

Aoi: "So there are things which these A.P.H devices can't toggle."

Tania: "Yes. For example, one thing that our Apers 2.0 devices can't do is toggle your personality. You are you, whether your inside or out of our Amaleous Plsszyar-Ottoman Haerman phenomenon fields."

Aoi: "...How about we just call them A.P.H fields from now on."

Tania: "Fair enough."

Aoi: "Wait!"

Tania: "Yes?"

Aoi: "You said that these A.P.H fields toggle binary statements- er, values."

Tania: "Mm hm."

Aoi: "What happens if one of these lie detecting disks is placed inside?"

Tania: "In the event that were to occur, they would be repelled by the A.P.H field. Of course if they were already inside when the A.P.H field was generated, they would be rendered inert."

Aoi: "I see."

Tania: "Yes. It's best to tell a lie first to see if you're in one and if so, keep moving until your lies destroys it. Then you'll know you're not in one anymore."

Aoi: "Okay, now I have 3 more questions left for you."

Tania: "Go on."

Aoi: "I am currently on a quest to recover all of my missing memories. So far I have collected 3 of them, 3 Memory Pcks if you will. I was wondering if you'd happen to know where the rest of them are. Well do you?"

Tania shakes her head.

Tania: "I'm afraid I don't quite know what your talking about. Even if I did, I'm under strict orders not to reveal too much for you."

Aoi: "By whom?"

Tania: "Her name is Mnemosyne. That is as far as the permission she has granted to me to reveal."

Aoi: "I see. Finally, what is it that your Foundation does? I mean, besides provide the means to cover the Society's tracks, what else do you do? What's your main focus?"

Tania: "Ah. Well in distants pasts what we used to do was sequester anomalies."

Aoi: "Anomalies?"

Tania: "That which defies the general consensus of reality or what's presumed to be real. We would capture them and study them in order to protect society and reality from the harms which they would entail. Of course that was back then."

Aoi: "And now?"

Tania: "Heheh. Well ever since our merging with Marshall, Carter and Dark, our motto has been updated to mean Secure Contain Prosper although personally I think it really should be Salvage Conscript Profit as that is exactly what we are doing now. Would you be interested in joining us? We have high perks and with someone of your calibur we'd be more than willing to lend you a hand or two on your search. Well?"

Aoi shakes her head.

Aoi: "No. I'm good. I'll manage."

Tania: "Alrighty. Well with our interview done, it's a pleasure knowing you, Aoi."

As the two of them got up to go there separate ways, pulled out her walkie talkie.

Aoi: "Intru-"

Bang!

Tania: "There's no need for you to do that."

Tania then pointed her Taurus PT 24/7 at herself.

Tania: "Heh. Well this run's been fun and there's not much point in keeping this body around any longer."

Bang!

Aoi: "Okay. That was weird. Did she just kill herself? Eh, not my problem."

Duusu: Hmph. Don't think you can fool me, Dr. I know you can hear me so remember this. The next time we meet I will personally rip you limb from limb and I'll take that cursed medallion of yours and stuff it where no one else will touch it again!

Tania: We shall see about that, Duusu.

Aoi's POV

It's been about a week since I killed Kanon. Ever since then I've commandeer her bases of operation and made them by own. After reviewing their standard procedures I've decided that today is the time I've made some major announcements.

Aoi: "Duusu, spread my feathers!"

With my transformation complete I make my way to the podium where I had scheduled my big announcement.

Yosuzume: "My people. My most beautiful and useful people. Today I have come to officially announce myself as your leader. You cannot resist me. You cannot fight me or even hope to win but if you follow me- obey my every orders and I will let you live."

There's murmuring amongst the crowd.

Yosuzume: "Not only that but you will prosper! Unlike your previous boss, I will not torture you without just cause and certainly without no value to it."

There's chattering amongst my crowd now.

Yosuzume: "Yes. Those who are loyal will receive many benefits. You want money? It shall be provided. Women, children all manners of sin! They are yours! You only need to swear your loyalty to me… and if I feel like it, I may even gift some of you a portion of my special power."

Random goon: "Those creatures you create?"

Yosuzume: "Yes. Do you swear your allegiance to me?"

The goon nods his head. So do many others.

Yosuzume: "Excellent, excellent. Now our first order of business is we will no longer be forcing our children members to prostitute or sell their body's for labour or sex."

Random thug: "Wha-"
