Chapter 8: Tuxedo Mask
Gohan's dreamscape...
A crowd marched toward a princess and a prince. Many swords, spears and pole arms were held by the crowd as they made their way to the two, shouting about how they should take the fight to the Moon Kingdom. Obscenities saying many disparaging things about both prince and princess filled the air. The prince, who looked much like the representation of the voice in Gohan's head, had his sword at the ready.
The voice of the princess distracts the young man for the moment. Her face is obscured by darkness, an indication that Gohan has no idea about her identity. The woman in the white dress shouted one phrase at the prince.
'Find the Legendary Silver Crystal'
Gohan woke up after hearing this phrase. The boy took a deep breath as he looked over at his brother on the other bed, sound asleep. As he felt that there was no need of waking Goten up, Gohan got up and looked outside the window of their bedroom. The moon shined down as the saiyan looked out into the night sky.
A feeling of restlessness overcame Gohan, as he felt that these dreams are getting more and more frequent. One thing was for sure, he had to find this crystal, but had no idea where to begin. The few leads he had turned out to be fruitless, which didn't help matters according to him. The saiyan resigned to going back to bed, as he knew he could get at least a few hours of sleep before his usual morning exercises.
Gohan walked his way down the street after finishing his morning routine. Sharpner flagged him down during his walk and decided to join him for the moment. The twosome walked down the street, both boys conversing about the crazy things that had happened lately. The half-saiyan couldn't really tell his friend that he had been attacking the monsters causing the events so decided to play dumb and say phrases about the senshi taking care of the problem.
A bump was felt by the spiky haired teen as he was conversing with Sharpner. Gohan looked down and saw that Usagi was on the ground and complaining about being hit by a brick wall. The girl looked up and locked eyes with the saiyan. The girl glared at Gohan as he had a blank look on his face.
"I always run into you don't I," Usagi shouted at Gohan.
"Well I think you need to watch where you're going. You could get seriously hurt," Gohan advised at the girl without any malice whatsoever in his voice.
The saiyan reached out his hand to the girl. The young woman refused and stood up on her own two feet, her anger dissipating nonetheless. Gohan noticed after she was on her feet that she was with three other girls this whole time. One was Makoto, the second was Rei and the girl furthest away was Ami.
"Hello Gohan," Makoto greeted as she knew that Gohan meant no ill will to her friend. The young man smiled at Makoto and returned the greeting.
"Hey Makoto, how was your first day yesterday?" Gohan asked.
"It was good. Your mom's tough but I think I can manage if I bake her some cookies or make something for her," Makoto said, pointing out her skills as a cook.
"I can attest to how strict his mother is," Ami pointed out.
The statement got Gohan's attention, to which Usagi felt slightly sad. A part of her wanted to talk to him a bit, but Makoto and Ami kept his focus. Rei however was indifferent since she only saw him at the Hikawa Shrine a couple of times.
Sharpner however couldn't help but feel a bit envious. The blond haired teen had his share of admirers at school, and several girls were interested in him. In his mind however, Gohan was the number one popular boy with him at number two of the freshmen class. The tinge of jealousy was not enough to show however as he observed his friend.
Gohan decided to turn his attention to Usagi and couldn't help but smile a bit. The bun-head girl looked slightly confused, but her smile crept up as if she had no control over her expressions. Gohan said a simple farewell, with him and Sharpner walking away. Not before Sharpner gave a wayward look toward Rei, who didn't even pay him any mind.
Usagi felt her face turn slightly red as she blushed a bit. This was noticed Makoto, who started laughing. Rei also noticed the change in mood to the young woman as did Ami.
"Why Usagi, I think you like him," Makoto pointed out teasingly.
"What..no,no. Why would I like a guy like him. Sure he's not really a meanie, but he's still a jerk," Usagi huffed at the tall girl.
"I think Gohan is the furthest thing from a jerk myself," Ami pointed out.
"He might not be. Though his friend definitely gives off the aura of arrogance," Rei pointed out eloquently.
"Oh you mean the long haired blond boy. His name's Sharpner and yes he is a jerk of the worst kind," Usagi pointed out.
"Ok Gohan, what's going on?" Sharpner asked as the two young men strolled along toward Juuban High.
"What do you mean?" Gohan responded.
"Come on now Gohan. I see the way those girls looked at you. The meatball headed one especially. She did look rather sad when you had your small talk with the brunette and Goten's babysitter. Though the pretty one with the private school uniform is probably a cold fish," Sharpner pointed out.
"The brunette is Makoto and she's working at the butcher shop with my mom. As for Rei, she's a priestess at the Hikawa Shrine. That's the one in the private school uniform. As for Usagi, we just keep bumping into each other for some reason and Ami you already know," Gohan told his friend.
Sharpner took in everything his friend told him. A small epiphany reached Sharpner as him and his friend got close to the school. The boy became positively giddy when the little epiphany turned into a big revelation. The blond started laughing the more he thought about the info that he uncovered. Gohan heard this laughter and curiosity got the better of him.
"What is it Sharpner?" Gohan asked with a slight tone of being annoyed.
"You like her don't you," Sharpner taunted jovially.
"Who?" Gohan asked.
"You, you, you. I saw the way you smiled at her. Gohan, Gohan, Gohan my boy," Sharpner said as he felt he got something about his friend.
"Oh shit...you mean..." Gohan replied.
"You like that little bun head," Sharpner told Gohan.
The saiyan stopped in his tracks as they reached the front of the school. Gohan wasn't really trying to keep a secret, but this little revelation was enough to stun him. Pondering what was uncovered, Gohan smiled at his friend. Sharpner knew that he was right.
"I hit the nail on the head didn't I. C'mon you know I did," Sharpener taunted at his friend.
"You might be right….what about you and Rei. You did say she was pretty," Gohan countered.
"Gohan, Gohan this isn't about me...Gohan. Can you put in a good word for me with her?" Sharpner said. Gohan took in a breath and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Sorry Sharpner, you are on your own with her," Gohan replied before walking through the front gate. The blond headed friend of the saiyan tried to plead with him as he followed him, but Gohan was ignoring him for the moment.
The two had gotten inside the school. Sharpner had finally stopped his pleading and returned to a more dignified state. The two of them would not be alone however, as they were joined by Erasa. The blonde girl had a tablet in her hands and seemed eager to show the two young men something she found interesting. Gohan stopped and watch the screen as the girl tapped onto a thumbnail. The video was a live interview with Bulma and it seemed to be one concerning the missing archeologists at the North Pole. The set looked like something of a morning talk show.
"Why hello Dr. Bulma, glad you could join us this morning on Tokyo Today," the interviewer said.
"Thank you Misako," Bulma returned. The two women took a few seconds to get more comfortable.
"Now tell me Dr. Bulma. The leader of the missing team of archeologists, Dr. Shibata, is an old friend of yours from Kyoto University. Am I correct?" Misako said.
"Yes he is. Him and I were partners in chemistry classes and I had made contact with him and his family throughout the years," Bulma explained.
"Then it must sadden you that he went missing on the famed Endymion excavation site near the North Pole," Misako said.
"Yes, yes it is. I hope that he will be found and returned to his family," Bulma sadly replied.
"It was also known that there were writings found at the excavation site of the ruined palace. Something about a Legendary Silver Crystal. Could you elaborate on that?" the interviewer asked.
"Only that it's a legend. You know what they say on legends though. There is usually a grain of truth to them," Bulma replied.
"I'd imagine such a jewel would be worth an astronomical price. The historic value and the value of it as a precious stone combined would make it practically priceless. What would you have to say about that stone?" the interviewer asked.
"Only if anyone were to find the crystal, it could be the key to his disappearance. If anyone has any information about the crystal, or the whereabouts of Dr. Noriyuki Shibata and his team, please contact the Japanese Government. Or better yet the UN. His family wants either him found or at least some closure. The families of his team are desperate for help as well.," Bulma replied with urgency.
More of the video was to play, but a warning bell tolled. Erasa hurriedly shut off the tablet and the three ran to their classroom. Gohan couldn't help but think about the consequences of his family friend mentioning the Silver Crystal live on air as he went to class.
The following night the sailor senshi were inside the closed arcade with Luna sitting on one of the cabinets. The moonlight shined onto the kitty as she looked around to the four girls. The cat was nervous as she thought a little on what she was going to say to the senshi.
"We have a situation Sailor Guardians. Dr. Bulma's plea for her friend could have grave, unintentional consequences. Why I do not doubt that it comes from a place of sincerity, it could give ideas to the Dark Kingdom," Luna told the senshi.
"You believe that our enemy has him and his team?" Rei replied.
"It may be so. If they did there would be little chance they would be alive," Luna lamented to Sailor Mars's question.
"At least it proves that she isn't in league with them. At least I think it does anyway. Our enemy wouldn't have that kind of compassion," Makoto pointed out.
"I do feel for her. No wonder she wants the crystal," Ami added.
"She's losing a friend to something, or some people that is so horrible. I don't know how I'd feel if something were to happen to you all. Or my family," Usagi pointed out in sadness.
"Why it is horrible to think about, it's not the only reason I had all of you come here today. I believe I have a strong idea on who Tuxedo Mask is," Luna said, which shocked the four girls.
The cat then jumped off of her arcade cabinet and one of the machines on the floor moved. The girls followed their feline friend down the stairs and into the headquarters with the ornate looking supercomputer. The senshi couldn't help but be taken aback by the technology on display. Sailor Moon however looked over on the terminal and saw a beautifully decorated rod. The wand had a glowing crescent moon at the head as it radiated the same color as moonlight.
"That is the Moon Stick. Take it Sailor Moon," ordered Luna.
Usagi smiled as she reached down and took the wand into her hand. She felt the power coming from the magical weapon and made a mental note to use it during her next battle. She thanked Luna for the item, to which the cat responded favorably . The girls and herself decided to watch as Luna started tapping buttons on the console.
A video popped up onto the screen. An image of young Gohan popped up, at the scene with Android 16s head and the whole body of Perfect Form Cell. The girls couldn't believe what they saw as Cell crushed the robots head. The senshi watched in awe as little Gohan changed from Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan 2.
Usagi saw the look in the eyes of the little boy especially. The change in hair style and the lightning from his aura aside, she saw someone who was truly angry and wanted to cause as much harm to the sadistic bug droid as possible. She noticed a little screen popping up with the current Gohan as the little boy went on his rampage with the Cell Jrs. She and the other three senshi were taken aback by the violent nature of little Gohan's attack.
"You think Gohan is this little boy from six years ago?" Usagi asked Luna.
"I want to say yes. I'm almost certain that this Gohan and our Gohan are the same person. Watch the video to the end Usagi," Luna replied.
The senshi watched the destruction of the little versions of Cell with a mixture of awe and disgust. Then the video went to the fight between Perfect Cell and Super Saiyan 2 Gohan. The stalemate between the two did put a sense of awe into the girls.
"This Gohan doesn't look like he's even trying," Ami pointed out during the exchange.
"I'm glad you noticed Ami. Though it will get graphic later. Just trust me on that one," Luna replied to the genius.
Indeed the video got graphic after Cell caught Gohan with a punch. Gohan replied with a gut punch, followed by a hard uppercut. The girls couldn't help but be shocked as the creature tried to get up, but going back onto his butt as the damage done kept him from trying anything. The purple blood streaming down both sides of Cell's mouth was particularly unsettling for the group of girls.
The scene went to the cyborg leaping to the air and firing his Kamehameha, and the little half saiyan countering with one of his own. The senshi watched in awe as the blast of the little boy overpowered the bug man's and hit him with ferocity. When the blast leaves the atmosphere and the group dig themselves out of the sand, a heavily damaged Cell with bits of his head and close to half his body was missing.
"I think I'm going to be sick," Rei said as she covered her mouth. The cats gave her a bag to which she threw up inside said bag.
The video continued into the creature's regeneration, powered up into a supremely bulky form and the kick to which one would say the nastiest scene of the Cell Games played out. The girls watched with mouths agape as Cell threw up Android 18.
"I recognize her," blurted Makoto, causing Luna to pause the video.
"Go on," urged Luna.
"She's one of the butchers at the shop I work for. And Mr. Turtle, the bald one with no nose. He has hair now, but I'm sure that it's him," Makoto added.
"That is Ms. Son's business partner," Ami added.
"So we have a lead after all. It's coming together more and more," Luna said just before she directed the senshi to watch the screen. The cat unpaused the video and watched as Cell devolved into his second form.
"Ok the form he was in was weirdly handsome. The form he's in however is just gross," Usagi quipped, causing the other girls to look at her strangely.
"Please pay attention," ordered Luna, which caused the guardians to look toward the screen.
The girls watched as Cell inflated like a balloon and Goku having to step in. Tears welled in all four senshi's eyes, but none more than Usagi's. The bun-headed girl was not one who tolerated such suffering. The girls cried along with Gohan on the screen as he pounded his fist into the dirt.
"That boy….he didn't deserve that at all..."Usagi said through her tears.
"Why didn't those 'men' do something about it?!" Rei shouted.
"One of them did, Rei. The boy's father," Luna retorted.
"Fine, but why couldn't the other men! That one with the damn spandex could've done something! Or the other one with the purple hair! Why not the noseless one!," Rei shouted.
"They probably felt powerless Rei! Now you will tone it down!" Luna scolded the senshi of fire.
"I...I'm sorry Luna..," Rei replied, her anger subsiding due to shame. Though she felt that she had a point, she did watch as the noseless one comforted the young Gohan. The girl resigned to keep her mouth shut since she knew she was out of line.
The scene shifts to the part where Cell gores Trunks in the heart with a death beam. The senshi were horrified at the swift and brutal nature of the young adults death. The vile laughter permeated the background as the skies cleared, revealing his perfect form once again.
Gohan powered up, but as what happens in the video over and over again, Vegeta charges at Cell. Moments later the prince is down and Gohan has a broken arm. The two have their epic beam clash, to which the senshi looked at in awe. The moment where the Prince of Saiyans makes up for his mistake arrives, and the little super saiyan completely destroys the creature. The moment arrives when Gohan falls and becomes black haired. At the event where Yamcha lifts him up, Ami requests that the video be paused.
"Why…..that's Mr. Turtle. That's Yamcha Turtle. I met him the day before school started with Gohan and Goten," Ami pointed out.
"You mean you got to spend the day with him," Usagi pointed out.
"Why yes, I did talk to him some while I babysat Goten," Ami said with a smile before she recounted the day she had with them. From the judging of the cookies, to the day at the park, she recounted the tale with a smile. Usagi felt that she had to listen because she couldn't really yell at Ami for anything. Nothing romantic happened during this day, but Usagi couldn't feel but just a bit jealous. Though all personal stuff went to the side when Luna called her girls to attention.
"From what I've seen and from what I can formulate from all of your input today. I'm more sure than ever that this Gohan has grown up and became Tuxedo Mask. I just hope he still fights the bad guys ," Luna told the girls.
"Luna, he's always helped us out," Usagi told the cat.
"I know, but he could be using you to get what he wants," Luna told Usagi.
"I don't think so. I think he wants to help. Why not let him know that he and the cute little version of him don't have to fight the bad guys without help anymore. He probably bears a huge weight on his shoulders knowing that he was the one to defeat Cell and save the world. Yet nobody believes him!" Usagi pointed out, not believing that Gohan, or rather Tuxedo Mask, was evil.
Luna stood still for the moment. A thought played in her mind about what Artemis said several years ago. The cat had a smile creep up onto her face as she remembered the moment.
'It could be a comfort to the boy, knowing that at least some people knew the truth about what happened. Even if he wanted to keep this a secret, I'm sure if a few knew the truth, it could be of benefit to him'
"Well Usagi. If he is on the up and up...remind me to thank him one day," Luna told the girl to the surprise of the senshi.
"May I speak up?" Rei asked politely. Luna nodded to the senshi of fire.
"I apologize for my outburst. I was out of line and I am truly sorry. I will offer no excuse," Rei apologized humbly.
"Apology accepted Rei. Your passion got the better of you. I'm sure you have your reasons as to why you chastised the men in the video. However, it is never good to let your feelings control you. If you ever need to talk, all of us are here for you," Luna replied. Rei smiled as she felt that now she was not alone.
"Thank You Luna. Perhaps I will take you up on that offer when we are not so busy with senshi business," Rei told the cat. The girls embraced the senshi of fire, who returned the group hug as best as she was capable.
"Now, we have to find him and the crystal. It won't be easy to do both, but I believe we will manage," Luna said. The senshi nodded and they all left headquarters, talking about what strategies they could employ.
That same night, at the D point castle on the North Pole, Zoicite pondered about the very transmission about the Silver Crystal from Bulma on Good Morning Tokyo. The general began to formulate a plan as to how he could use this opportunity for favor from Queen Beryl. The man had been studying about how modern humans use the airwaves and he knew that if he could get himself on TV in disguise, he could plant certain suggestions into the minds of many humans.
"Well now, I know just how to use the power of television and media to the Dark Kingdom's vision. I will get the crystal and hand it to our great ruler," Zoicite said to himself as he finished articulating his plan in his mind.
The next afternoon, a black haired female talk show host is seen with a taller blond woman with
ponytail. The audience clapped as the two women, dressed in business suits fitting toward females with skirts, started the show.
"Today, we are here to talk about the Legendary Silver Crystal. Our guest is Dr. Izuno and she is said to be a foremost expert on the subject," the host introduced.
"Ah, the Legendary Silver Crystal," Dr. Izuno looked into the camera and her plan came into motion. Many of the viewing public were hypnotized somehow by this woman in the ponytail.
"We must find the Crystal. A great reward will come to the one finding the artifact. I would suspect those Sailor Senshi and that Tuxedo Mask fellow might either have it, or know where it's hidden. Look for the crystal and bring it to this station," Dr. Izuno suggested to the public.
People were roaming the streets, searching for the powerful jewel. Gohan couldn't help but notice the people acting like zombies as they looked through all sorts of things. The thing that caught Gohan the most by surprise was the people who were bound and gagged at the shop. The saiyan removed the gag on one of the patrons.
"The Silver Crystal. I need the crystal," the woman said in a zombie like manner. Gohan promptly put the gag back on the woman and looked over at 18 and Krillen. The two of them watched over the trapped people to make sure that they wouldn't make a mess out of the shop looking for the jewel.
"Gohan, it's been like this for the last two hours," Krillen explained.
"Yeah, ever since that stupid show with that woman in the ponytail happened," 18 added.
"I'll go make sure that Mom's ok," Gohan said. The couple nodded and the teen went upstairs to his apartment.
The biggest surprise was yet to come. Gohan went into the apartment and saw that his mother was rummaging through the drawers. The place was a mess, uncharacteristic of the Son Matriarch. Gohan watched as the woman searched everywhere. The saiyan had a very good idea on what she was searching for and knew that he had to do something.
"The Legendary Silver Crystal. Must find the Legendary Silver Crystal," uttered Chichi.
"Mom, snap out of it please," Gohan said as he placed a hand on her shoulder and looked eye to eye with her.
"I must find the crystal!" exclaimed the mother with a vacant look on her face. Gohan held her for a minute and urged Chichi to snap out of her delirious state. The woman struggled against her son, but Gohan's sure grip and his determination was able to get through the programming of the blonde woman's message.
Chichi blinked as she came to her senses. She found herself face to face with Gohan, who kept asking if she was ok. Gohan then placed his mother in the chair as she began to get her bearings.
"What happened?" Chichi asked the young man.
"Well mom, you were in some sort of trance and tried to search for a crystal," Gohan explained.
Chichi recalled and then she remembered the moment she blacked out. The Son matriarch couldn't believe that a simple video could make her do such things.
"Don't worry Mom, I'll help you clean this place up," Gohan offered. Chichi smiled and then the two of them proceeded to clean up the mess.
The senshi noticed the people out in the streets as well. The manic search of the populace for the Silver Crystal had the girls worried. Luna was able to get their attention and had the girls run with her back to the arcade. The senshi ran down the steps into the secret headquarters. Luna leapt up to the center console and started tapping keys. Within seconds she could pinpoint where the signal came from.
"The TV station! It seems the enemy has learned how to use mass communication to enact their plans," Luna said.
"We need to get to the station," Rei pointed out.
"That we do. Who knows, we may even find Tuxedo Mask there. When this is over we need to get answers out of him, one way or the other," Luna pointed out.
"I know he will help us out," Usagi said.
"One things for sure. We will find out which side he is on," Luna told Usagi. The girls transformed into their senshi selves and ran out of the arcade.
The senshi did meet resistance about 20 feet into their journey. A huge group of people blocked the street, which caused a standoff between the mob and the senshi. The girls were hesitant unleashing their power against the hypnotized people. Usagi gripped her moon stick and secretly wished Tuxedo Mask would come by to help.
Gohan jumped out from the top of one of the buildings and proceeded to engage the crowd. The Saiyan in the Tuxedo knocked out most of the crowd in a high rate of speed, using strikes to various pressure points. Sailor Moon and her crew watched as their ally was able to take care of the hypnotized people with little to no injury.
One of the people charged at Gohan. The boy was ready to knock him out, only for Sailor Jupiter to jump in front and knock out the young man. Tuxedo Mask smiled as he then turned his attention to the group.
"Sailor Senshi follow me. We need to get to the station," Gohan told them. Sailor Moon followed him without hesitation. Seeing the need for the senshi to follow the bun-headed one, Luna urged them to run after them. The girls needed little convincing as they tailed the Moon Senshi and Tuxedo Mask.
Gohan and Usagi hid in a corner, while the senshi hid in another nearby corner close to the TV station. The lone boy of the group looked up towards the top of the station and closed his eyes to concentrate. Though he could feel no ki inside, he did feel a barrier keeping him from trying to sense the enemy.
"Hmm, I can't say that the Dark Kingdom isn't clever," Tuxedo Mask said to Sailor Moon.
"Why do you say that," Usagi said quietly
"I can't sense their energy, but I can feel something blocking me from doing so. We may have to go in blind," Gohan said.
Meanwhile in the other corner, Mercury had a visor over her eyes and a small computer in her hands. She basically confirmed what Gohan had said to Usagi. She saw a barrier over the station, which kept any intelligence from entering her computer like it had blocked Gohan's ki sense.
"It seems our enemy is learning," Mercury told the other senshi.
"In that case, we may have to coax the enemy out in some way," Mars pointed out.
"Fine by me," uttered a rather eager Sailor Jupiter.
The three of them ran toward the building, to the surprise of Gohan and Usagi. The saiyan cursed at what he saw was overeagerness from the three girls. Sailor Moon heard Gohan's groans toward them and placed a hand onto his arm.
"They are strong," Usagi told the saiyan.
"Yes, but they could get themselves killed," Gohan replied.
"Then we need to rescue them don't we, Gohan," Usagi said, though she covered her mouth when she mentioned his name.
Gohan was flabbergasted, though it was only for a split second as he couldn't help but smile. The little bun-head was sometimes entertaining to him. The smirking Gohan looked over toward Sailor Moon out of the corner of his eye.
"Can you keep up, Usagi," Gohan said.
"Why yes I ca...oh crap," Usagi replied.
"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. I've known about you ever since the discovery of Sailor Jupiter. Now are you coming or not," Gohan smirked. Usagi nodded and the two of them followed behind the three other Sailor Guardians.
When the senshi went to the front of the building, there was a lone female figure standing at the door. The figure was none other than Dr. Izuno. The blond female smirked at the three sailor guardians, though she did not seem to notice Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, who are still approaching the building with a more stealthy demeanor.
"Where is Sailor Moon girls," the Ph.D asked the girls.
"Why is that any of your business?" asked Sailor Jupiter.
"Hmm, very well," Dr. Izuno replied before transforming into her, or rather his true form. The General in the white uniform was revealed to be Zoicite. A green energy crackled in his hand as he readied himself for the fight between him and the three Sailor Senshi.
Gohan was about to jump in, however he felt a little something tug at his pants leg. The saiyan looked down and saw that it was Luna grabbing his pants with her teeth to try and get his attention. The feline let loose as Tuxedo Mask gave his undivided attention to her.
"Let them handle it for now. I think it's a way for you to see their abilities for yourself," Luna told Gohan.
"Hmm, it seems that you trust me," Gohan said quietly.
"Don't misunderstand me, I'm keeping my eye on you," Luna whispered.
Gohan looked away from Luna to focus on the fight. The cat got the reason why as the both of them felt that if they talked too much, the element of surprise would be lost.
The three senshi and the General stood at a standstill for the moment. The standoff didn't last long however as Mercury threw the first attack with her Shabon Spray. Zoicite waved his hand and dissipated the mist effortlessly. Jupiter used her Supreme Thunder and Mars used her Akiyo Taisan, but both attacks missed their mark because of the general's speed.
Zoicite then threw a few green energy balls. A couple missed, but one struck Sailor Mars and put her onto the ground. The senshi of fire was able to get to her feet, but knew that shots from the general were not to be taken lightly.
As the battle went on, Gohan's phone buzzed. Zoicite was too busy fighting the senshi and only the saiyan can feel the vibration. The saiyan reached into his pocket and saw a text from Bulma. The billionaire sent Gohan the building plans for the TV station. As Gohan read the plans, Luna and Usagi looked over his shoulder.
"I can get into the building while the girls keep him distracted," Gohan said to the two of them. The boy then showed the cat and the Sailor Senshi where the control room was in the TV station.
"Hmm, as good of a plan as any. If we can shut down that signal, the people will snap out of the Enemy's spell. Go for it," Luna said to Gohan. The boy nodded and ran past the fight scene. Then he flew up to the floor that the control room sat and crash through one of the windows. The takeoff did ruin the stealthy position of the cat and Usagi.
Zoicite looked over and saw the senshi and her feline companion. The man smirked as he was able to stave off the attacks of the senshi one by one. However, he never saw Gohan, only heard the glass shattering. The general took out a pocket device about the size of a smartphone and showed the screen.
"I guess I need to mash this button on the screen here. It will steal the energy from all those humans," Zoicite said before he mashed the button. The tower glowed for about ten seconds, but before it could accomplish the task set before it, the glow disappeared. The general was shocked by what happened and looked down at his device. An error message flashed across the screen. The general smashed the device in response, knowing now that he couldn't drain all the energy from the humans.
Gohan in the control room breathed a sigh of relief. The young man knew that he just adverted a large scale cost for humanity. However, the door slammed shut behind him. Rolling his eyes, he extended the palm of his hand to the front with the fingers spread apart and a ball of ki formed. Before he could blast it however, several monsters came at different angles toward him. Gohan moved so fast that all they could hit was an afterimage. The flabbergasted youma looked up, only to see the blast of Gohan coming at them and eradicating the entire group. The blast went through the wall and through an outside window before shooting upwards toward the sky and into space.
"Well done Tuxedo Mask," congratulated a voice. The saiyan turned around and it was a floating Nephrite, with around 30 monsters of various shapes and arm weapons on both sides of him.
"Hmm, you should've brought more," Tuxedo Mask taunted.
"You arrogant little bastard!" spat Nephrite in disgust before giving the order to charge. The monsters came at Gohan. The afterimage ability that the saiyan had came in handy as some of the monsters cut through the illusions. The saiyan then attacked with strikes from odd angles, each one eradication a creature.
After the first seven another one did a downward strike toward him, only for the saiyan to catch it. Others charged at the boy, but he responded by chopping the arm axe off of the youma and leaping away. The monster screamed in pain as it held the appendage with the missing weapon. Gohan then used the monster's weapon to cut through it, causing it to split apart before turning to ether.
Gohan then went on the offensive, slicing his way through the monsters with the youma's axe. Another ten fell to the fighter before Nephrite decided to step in. The general brandished a sword and slashed at Gohan, who blocked it with the axe. Another monster, with a cannon for a hand was charging a blast at the saiyan, while the remaining minions came at Gohan to attempt to overwhelm him.
The monsters never got to Tuxedo Mask however, as two blasts came and destroyed two of them. The monsters stopped in their tracks. Both Gohan and Nephrite looked over to the saiyan's right and there stood two little fighters. One was Goten, as Chibi Tuxedo Mask. The other was slightly taller than Goten, minus the hat with black spandex, purple ninja wear, black belt with a gold spiral buckle, white gloves, and white boots with yellow toes.
Gohan smiled as he took advantage of the distraction. The warrior pushed up to take Nephrite out of balance. The teenager then punched the general in the gut causing him to double over. The two kids then charged at the monsters and started attacking. In short order, the two tiny heroes took out the weak minions of the Dark Kingdom with various punches and kicks.
Though the monster's had been destroyed, something happened. A powerful, dark energy arrived outside. One which all three saiyans could feel. The evil in the aura was enough to chill much lesser men and women to the bone. Gohan felt that terror and had a flashback into his dreams. He saw a woman, cloaked with evil energy kill what looked like the image he saw when he spoke to the voice in his head.
"So I take it you know she is here. You and the senshi are doomed," laughed Nephrite as he spat out a little blood.
Outside the tower, a dark pink portal appeared. What came down was a demonic queen, with a necklace of various rocks adorning her collar bones. A black tiara with a light gray stone on the top, dark purple strapless dress, long crimson hair, spikes coming out her bare shoulders. Eyes of blood red glared at the senshi as she stood beside Zoicite.
The general smirked, knowing now that the senshi were most likely over their heads. The three senshi attempted their attacks, but Beryl dissipated them without so much as a word. She didn't even have to wave her hand as they stopped just short and rendered harmless. The woman then raised her wand and all the senshi, even Sailor Moon were forced down onto the ground. The pressure that came when Beryl raised her staff was so great, that it had felt that gravity itself was trying to crush them.
The senshi were trying to rise, but the sheer weight of the spell kept forcing them down. Moon in particular was screaming as the weight hit her particularly hard. Luna stood as close to Usagi as she could so that she could coach her.
"Fight it Sailor Moon!" Luna urged.
"I can't," the girl cried.
"You must!" Luna shouted.
Usagi tried to lift herself to her feet, only for the powerful curse to redouble it's efforts to press her back down. While Usagi, cried out for Tuxedo Mask, Luna decided to damn the hero for not being there.
Gohan felt the dark presence and knew that this one was different. Fear however, gave way to focus as he glared at a Nephrite who was rising to his feet. The snickering general was revealing in the fact that his commander was dealing with the senshi.
"You will have to choose, fight me, or help those girls," snickered the long haired brunette.
This led Gohan to have a little smirk. Little did the general know that Gohan was never fighting at anywhere close to his full power for anything that the Dark Kingdom threw at him. The saiyan knew what he had to do and clenched his fist.
Gohan hit Nephrite in the midsection so hard that his physical form was eradicated. Only a short, loud yell echoed throughout the building as the general disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
"I choose option 3," Gohan said before noticing a stone drop on the floor where his enemy stood. The saiyan reached down and picked up the dull, brownish, green stone. The saiyan then placed it in his pocket.
The two little heroes were shocked to see Gohan kill the guy. Sure, the fellow was evil and tried to enslave the world to the whims of that evil queen outside, but they knew the saiyan as such a gentle person. Gohan then turned to the two and smiled at them.
"Goten and," Gohan said before he removed the helmet of Chibi Tuxedo Masks ally. Lavender hair and blue eyes was a dead giveaway to the teen.
"Trunks," Gohan said with little surprise.
"Look you two, what you saw," Tuxedo Mask tried to get out.
"It's ok, the guy was evil right," Trunks got out through the shock.
"Yes, now the senshi need our help. You can follow me or go home you two. I won't be angry with you either way," Gohan told the two little half-saiyans.
The two little guys swallowed their shock and gave their own hard looks at Gohan. Trunks put his helmet back on and strapped it to his chin. Tuxedo Mask, who handed him the helmet the moment prior, nodded at the two. The saiyan then blasted the door down and the three of them left the building through the windows.
Beryl was loving the fact that she was holding the senshi down with her curse. Try as they might, none of the girls could get off of the ground as the magic attack bared down upon them. Zoicite floated above the battle and laughed as the women suffered.
Two blasts came out of nowhere and struck Queen Beryl in the back. The demonic monarch stood her ground, but the blasts singed her back and made her wince slightly in pain. The break in concentration lifted her curse off of the senshi for the moment. The senshi struggled to their feet as Gohan made his way to Sailor Moon.
Usagi looked up and saw Gohan there. The girl smiled at Gohan, as her faith was placed in him to return. Gohan then encouraged her to get to her feet, while the two little companions were keeping Beryl busy.
"Sailor Moon, you have to show this woman that you are not weak," Tuxedo Mask encouraged.
"But nothing my other senshi did could harm her. What makes you think I can?" Usagi cried.
"Because your power is the light in the darkness. Evil people like her can't stand the magic you have. You are stronger than you know. That much I believe," Tuxedo Mask told her.
"What are you saying?" Usagi replied.
Gohan took a deep breath. He watched as Beryl tried to attack them only for them to dodge each attack. Trunks in particular was being rather cheeky as he flipped her off, and shook his butt. A relief he had when he decided to have his pants on and not 'Moon' the evil queen.
Beryl however caught them with the same gravity curse she put on the senshi. The two little one's crashed onto the ground. Though they struggled to their feet, they managed much better than the senshi as they rose to the air slowly.
"I believe in you, Sailor Moon," Gohan said.
Usagi was shocked to hear this from the powerful saiyan of all people. This, to her at least, was the boy who destroyed the monster Cell, which looked more right by the minute. The young girl then rose slowly to her feet and gripped the moon stick tightly. She closed her eyes and concentrated, causing the crescent moon to glow brightly. She made a circle with the wand from feet to above her head.
"Moon Healing Escalation!" she chanted as she spun around. She then put her wand forward and a spiral of light shot out of it and went straight for Beryl. As the queen turned her attention toward the attack, Zoicite jumped in front and took the blast. Beryl caught the general as he lost consciousness.
A scowl came onto the queen's features. The pain on her back from the two child heroes, along with the facts that she has a general knocked out and another one was eradicated, the commander of the Dark Kingdom would consider this a defeat.
"Enjoy your victory, Sailor Moon. I will find that crystal and destroy you. Along with your Senshi and you three little devils," Beryl scornfully spat as she created a portal and retreated with Zoicite.
With the senshi victorious, but feeling rather beaten, the three of them lost consciousness. Gohan would've went and checked on them, but Sailor Moon fainted with exhaustion and he caught her in his arms.
"So...warm," Usagi said as Gohan held her hand.
Chibi Tuxedo Mask and his little ally looked at the girls and checked up on the girls. The two of them saw that they were non responsive and thus Trunks pressed a button on a watch like object on his wrist.
"Hey Mom this is Tru….I mean Saiyaman," Trunks spoke in his communicator.
"Hey sweetie, how did the battle go," Bulma asked.
"Well we aren't hurt, but the senshi could use some help!" Trunks urged.
"Will do!" Bulma said. Moments later a personal cargo vehicle approached from the sky. She then stopped the vehicle in mid air and the thrusters went upwards. The woman then lowered herself slowly down to the scene. The blue-haired genius came out of the craft and ran her way to the Sailor Senshi. Two people then exited out, Krillen and the Cyborg known as 18.
"Well these girls have seen better days," 18 said.
"Yeah, I think we will have to get them to the lookout," Krillen said, worried about their condition.
Krillen took Mercury, while 18 picked up Mars. Goten carried Jupiter, and Gohan had carried Moon to the vehicle. Luna ran with the Z fighters so that she would not let anyone take them without her watching them. The senshi were securely strapped in their seats by the fighters, then each fighter jumped into their seats. Though the two groups were mostly seperate, Gohan was together with Usagi, who's head was laying on his shoulder.
Luna ran up the ramp and leapt onto the seat beside Tuxedo Mask. She watched as Gohan kept an eye on her and made sure she was ok. Tears formed in her eyes when she heard the saiyan keep telling Usagi that she was going to be fine. She choked them back though as she had something to say to the saiyan.
"Gohan...thank you...for everything," Luna told the saiyan. The boy heard the cat and gave a smile toward her. In some way, Gohan knew that this wasn't just a thanks for this incident. Gohan however simply nodded at the cat before turning his attention to Sailor Moon.
The craft then shut it's cargo door, and lifted toward the sky. The thrusters then went horizontal as soon as it was above all of the buildings. The cargo plane/car then took off to the sky, toward the Lookout.
Meanwhile, a figure in a sailor fuku and a red eye mask showed up onto the battlefield. The girl was accompanied by a white cat, with a crescent moon on it's forehead. The girl smiled as the craft went away from her eyesight.
