Time Bomb
Logan and Blade were in Charles' chamber, meeting with him in the astral plane. "Logan. Blade." He called out before his 2 temporary leaders opened their eyes.
"Charles." Blade and Logan said together.

"We take it you found something?" Blade asked.
"I have. And what I'm about to ask you both to do...will go against everything that myself and Noah Van Helsing have ever taught either of you." Charles said with regret, knowing that neither Logan or Blade would like this. "But it is essential that you succeed."
After Charles told Logan and Blade what he wanted them to do, they walked out of his chamber with looks of doubt and regret on their faces.
Meanwhile
After the Mutant Response Division had captured Toad without any trouble, they had thrown him in his personal cell...but before the guards could even walk away, Quicksilver had appeared and thanks to his super speed, he had knocked the guards out in a mere second!

Domino asked while playing a game of pool with Rogue, who had grown even closer with the marked mutant due to being in a secret relationship because of the gift that Domino had given her. "I take it Toad's still in MRD custody?"
Quicksilver nodded while handing the photo he had taken of Toad to Blob. "Yep, I left his useless ass there."
Both Avalanche and Blob had high fived each other in complete joy. "Yes/Finally! We're free of that bumbling idiot!"
Even though Rogue was...somewhat glad that Toad was no longer part of the team, especially since he had tried to spy on her and Domino before his arrest when they were trying to...get closer together, she felt bad a little bit for leaving him in prison and asked softly while taking her turn at the pool table. Domino asked with an intrigued look on her face, along with Rogue as she drank from the plastic bottle of water on the billiard table. "A deal?"
Avalanche asked just as intrigued. "What sort of a deal?"
Pietro answered while sighing softly and shaking his head to what he was about to say. "He's...going to act as my eyes and ears in MRD custody."
As soon as she heard that, Rogue had sprayed the water out of her mouth in great shock and asked while coughing, with her girlfriend softly patting her back. "What?!"
Avalanche asked with an equally shocked expression on his face, along with Blob. "Toad...acting as our eyes and ears in prison? You've got to be joking."
Quicksilver stated with a serious look on his face. "I wish I was...but I'm not. He actually proved himself useful...since he gave me the name of a Mutant who might be worth recruiting."
Domino asked after her younger girlfriend recovered from shocking news of Toad being their 'inside man' in MRD custody. "Who's the Mutant?"
Pietro answered while cutting to the chase. "Toad said this Mutant is called Nitro, because apparently he can make really huge kinetic explosions. Because of his powers, the Mardies call him the 'Living Time Bomb'."
Even though both Blob and Avalanche were fascinated after learning how powerful this Nitro was...Rogue was completely against the idea of recruiting a very unstable Mutant with a dangerous power like that and nudged Domino to follow her so they could talk in private.

"If that's true, we gotta try to stop him. I know Magneto wants powerful mutants, but I don't think even he would want a very unstable mutant like Nitro anywhere near his island, especially if he felt like he was a danger to it and every innocent mutant on it." Rogue said with great concern for all the innocent mutants on Magneto's island.

"Don't even think about that, Emma. Jean is out there somewhere. I know that Selene and I don't know her as well as Blade, you or anyone else here, but we all have to believe that she's out there somewhere." Amelia said, trying to comfort Emma, as she knew from experience that it wasn't easy to lose someone who loved you with all their hearts.
Emma, thought still having small doubts, was comforted by her vampire friends' words and smiled a bit. "You're right, my friends, I'll just have to keep looking for her and hope that sooner or later, Jean will be found. And I want to be there when she is and be the first person she sees."
"We'll make sure of that, Emma. We promise." Selene said with a smile before she and her Amelia hugged the blonde telepathic mutant.
"Thank you, my friends. But I'm afraid that I now have to focus my attention on other matters." Emma said with a bit of disappointment before Logan and Blade entered the chamber.
"We need you to find those Brotherhood clowns." Blade told Emma, who quickly did just that.
After Blade and Logan gathered everyone, Ororo asked. "What's the emergency?"
"The Brotherhood broke into an MRD base and kidnapped an innocent mutant." Logan answered.
"So this is a rescue operation?" Hank asked.
"Sort of. We're going to free him from the Brotherhood and then give him back to the MRD." Blade answered with regret.
"What?! But that goes against everything that the X-Men have ever been taught." Selene said with disbelief that the X-Men were about to go against everything that Charles had ever taught them.
"We said the exact same thing to Charles, Selene. And he told Logan and I that if we don't do it, half the world's mutants are gonna be wiped out by what this unstable mutant can do." Blade said, still regretful.
After the Brotherhood had attacked the MRD facility where Nitro was being held...they quickly found and met the powerfully unstable Mutant, who begged them to stay away from him and struggled to keep his powers under control. After getting him out and away from the base, they took him to a heavily guarded underground base that had data on every registered mutant, which they planned to destroy to send the MRD back to square one.

"Quicksilver...I think we should just go and drop him off at the next closest MRD base."
Quicksilver asked while turning to his second in command. "Are you crazy, Domino? This guy could prove to be a fine addition to the Brotherhood and even Magneto's army."
Rogue asked while scoffing at how selfish Pietro was being. "Are you friggin' blind or somethin', Quicksilver? Look at him, he can't even control his powers and you saw how unstable he is and what his powers just did. We can't recruit someone..."
But she was unfortunately cut off, as Avalanche had coldly shoved her aside and Quicksilver replied just as coldly. "Sorry Rogue, but we didn't come all this for nothing. Toad said this guy's power is powerful...and we're going to show him to someone who will definitely like having him. But don't worry, we'll help him out, but not with humans."
Meanwhile
Logan was driving the X-Van, that Blade, Kitty, Selene and Amelia had tagged along in, to the destroyed MRD base before Kitty phased out of the van and Logan stopped before he and his vampire allies got out as well. "What happened? Are we too late?"
"Looks like we are." Selene answered before contacting Emma. "Emma, please tell us that the trail hasn't turned cold."
"No, Selene. I've already found them at an airport 20 miles from your position. And...they have a telepathic mutant with them."
"Is it Jean?" Blade asked with a bit of hope.
"Unfortunately no, Blade. This one's a pathetic amateur. I'm taking the Blackbird and I'll come to pick you all up once I've gathered the others. But we must hurry, because I know just where they're taking this Nitro."

"That was before." Quicksilver countered. "And how could he not be impressed with me after I blew up the MRD archives? Plus, wait till he sees Nitro."
"Oh I think Magneto would tell you the exact same thing we've been tryin' to tell you, Quicksilver! Nitro is far too dangerous and unstable to be around any crowded place, especially on Genosha!" Rogue said with a glare, knowing that even Magneto would agree with her and her girlfriend.
But suddenly, the airplane's engines were getting frozen... before Kitty phased in and quickly got to Nitro. "Hi, Rogue. Hi, Ms Domino." Before she phased herself and the unstable mutant out of the plane and into the Blackbird.
"Domino, do something!" Quicksilver ordered.
"Um, I know I don't like the X-Men, but if they're taking him back to the MRD, I say let them! Because all this is clearly just so you can try to impress Magneto and get back on Genosha!" Domino said with a glare.
"Fine then, I'll do it myself!" Quicksilver said before quickly taking 1 of Domino's guns and shooting the Blackbird down by the engines!
"Prepare for impact!" Hank told everyone, who did just that.
"Iceman, we need a landing strip, now!" Blade told his mutant friend.
"Already on it, Blade." Bobby said before he quickly used his power to make a big enough block of ice to land on, which worked as the Blackbird safely landed. But the process exhausted Bobby a bit.
"Impressive, Bobby, I didn't think you were powerful enough to make an ice land that large." Selene, who caught Bobby in her arms, said with a smile.
"Well, I'm not usually around this much water, Selene." Bobby said, smiling back.
"Well, remind yourself to practice that a bit more once we get back home." Amelia added with a smirk.
Once the Brotherhood landed, Wolverine and the others battled Quicksilver, Blob, Avalanche, Psylocke...while Rogue and Domino simply kept watch over Nitro and asked for help once he could no longer hold his powers back, with Emma easily defeating the other telepathic mutant. Fortunately, before the battle begin, Emma had told Logan and Blade about Psylocke trying to shut off Nitro's power but because she never tried to shut down someone's powers before, it didn't work, as his power was slowly turning back on and the unstable mutant was very close to unleashing a far more power blast. But fortunately for both the Brotherhood and X-Men, Storm had used her powers to create a shield to contain the explosion before gently laying him on the ground.

"You don't know how close, Quicksilver. You and your clowns would have been on Genosha by now and if that unstable mutant had set foot on Genosha, his power would have wiped out half the island and every mutant on it!" Blade said while getting in Quicksilver's face and showing his vampire traits.
Quicksilver, while knowing that he could probably take Blade in a fight, was still very afraid of him due to Rogue telling him who he was and what he could do with his sword. "You're... Blade, right? The...Daywalker and vampire hybrid?"
"Yes. And we're taking that Mutant back to the MRD! Got a problem with that, Pietro?" Blade asked with a hiss.
"No." Quicksilver said while looking away.
"Excuse us, traitor." Selene said with a bit of venom in her voice at Rogue as she and Amelia carried Nitro away from her and Domino.
But the unstable mutant looked at them, silently giving the 2 female mutants his thanks, which Rogue and Domino nodded to before Logan and Blade walked past them without saying a word, but Blade did nod to them, as he had heard everything that Domino and Rogue had said thanks to his vampire hearing.
After they took Nitro back to the MRD, the unstable mutant walked in while Logan, Blade and Hank looked on with regret for Nitro's fate. "We did what we had to, my friends." Hank said softly to comfort them.
"Yeah. But it doesn't make it any easier." Logan said with disappointment that he actually helped the MRD.
"Nitro knew that his power was far too unstable for him to be around others. And since shutting it off didn't work, there was probably nothing anyone could have done to help him without giving him to the MRD." Selene said to her surrogate brother.
"I know, Selene. But it doesn't change how we're feeling right now, even if what we did was the only way." Blade said sadly before they all walked away to head back home.
Meanwhile, at the Brotherhood hideout
