Past Discretions
A week after their conversation with Professor Xavier, Logan, Blade and the rest of their friends had turned in for bed.
However...while Selene and the others were sleeping peacefully, Logan was turning endlessly in his bed with sweat covering his eyes as he was having a rather dreadful dream: where he was being propelled from a Weapon X transport helicopter in the Canadian Wilderness...and standing above an unconscious man in a burning stable and a little girl calling out 'Daddy' and screaming in horror to what she was seeing...which was the moment Logan had woken up, only to see that he was in the Astral Plane where Charles has appeared before him.
The elderly telepath stated softly. "It's alright Logan. I'm right here with you."
Logan asked softly while turning to his friend and mentor with a remorseful look on his face. "Charles...what have I done?" Before he then stated softly. "Please...you need to show me the rest of it."
Charles stated with a sympathetic expression on his face. "Unfortunately Logan, you've seen all that I can show you."
Logan stated softly with a guilt ridden look on his face. "But...that man...and that little girl!"
Professor X stated while placing a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder. "Are a mystery to us both. We're working with broken fragments Logan...and trying to connect, let alone understand them takes time."
Logan would ask somberly. "But how much time Chuck? There's so much of my past...that I can't remember. And...if I did something to that man and little girl...something unforgivable..."
Charles stated softly. "You're a good man, Logan and I don't believe you would ever cross that line. If you truly wish to see and understand more of your dream...I believe Emma could be of assistance."
Logan stated softly. "All right, once I wake up...I'll ask Frost."
Professor X stated softly before the Adamantium clawed Mutant left the Astral Plane. "Logan...there is one last thing you need to know."
Wolverine asked softly. "What is it, Charles?"
The powerful telepath answered truthfully. "You, Blade and the others will soon receive a visit from...Rogue and Domino."
After he heard Rogue's name, Logan stated softly with a conflicted look on his face. "Rogue."
Charles stated softly. "Logan, I know that you and the others are still upset at Rogue for deceiving you into raiding Kelly's warehouse and exposing yourselves to the public to prove her loyalty to the Brotherhood...but I can understand why she did it."
Logan stated softly. "Charles, she made her choice when she chose not to return to the team!"
Charles countered strongly. "Because you made it impossible for her to stay." Before he added strongly and firmly. "Logan, you honestly don't understand what you mean to Rogue do you? You're like a father to her...and I know for a fact, that you still see and think of her as a daughter to you. She loves you Logan...you're just too blind to see that."
Logan had simply stared in complete shock and guilt, as he knew deep down that everything Charles had just said was true: how he always saw and thought of Rogue as a daughter...and he never stopped to realize how betrayed/hurt she felt whenever he left the mansion...which was what made her join the Brotherhood.
Logan asked softly. "Charles...you're certain that allowing both Rogue and...Domino to join the X-Men will help prevent the future you're in?"
Prof. X stated while nodding his head. "From what I have gathered from the surviving Mutants...yes."
The Adamantium clawed mutant stated before sighing softly. "The others and I will hear what they have to say...and we'll decide from there."
The next morning
Shortly after Logan had woken up, he went straight to Emma's room: where he spotted the blonde British telepath gazing out the window...thinking about a certain redhead and sighed softly before calling out. "Hey."
Emma asked softly, "What can I do for you, Logan?"
He answered honestly, "I've got something on my mind that I can't make sense of...and no, it's not Jean choosing you over me and Scott."
Emma stated as her interest was piqued and gestured for Logan to sit on the chair near the coffee table in her quarters. "All right...you have my attention. Although...I sense that the Professor has already tried to probe into your mind...and couldn't give you the answers you had hoped for."
Once they were seated, Emma asked softly. "Logan, before we get started...are you absolutely sure you want to do this?"
Logan stated softly. "Frost...I need to see what happens in this dream I had last night."
The blonde telepathic mutant stated softly. "Very well then. Just close your eyes and calm your mind."
After the Adamantium clawed X-Man did as she asked, Emma had seen the flashbacks that Logan witnessed last night...along with the little girl screaming before gasping in complete shock to what she saw.
She stated softly with sympathetic eyes, as she saw Logan covering eyes in sadness, "I can understand why this dream haunts you."
Logan stated softly with pleading eyes. "Frost...please tell me you can piece what you just saw together for me."
Emma stated softly. "I'm sorry, Logan...I wish that I could...but I can't. The only advice I can offer you is to simply return to the cabin you saw in your dream."
Logan stated softly. "But that's just it...I have no idea where that cabin is."
The blonde telepath replied. "From what I could tell...that cabin was in the base of two mountains."
After Logan had left Emma's room, he asked Hank, Kitty and Bobby to help him find any related to mountains in the library: where Bobby simply looked up the two mountains on his laptop and Logan immediately recognized a photograph of the mountains he saw in his dream...which Bobby identified as Twin Summit Peaks that was located north of the Canadian border.
After learning the name of the mountains and their exact location, Logan entered the garage...where he saw Blade, Selene and Amelia leaning against their own custom made motorcycles that Forge had made for them at their request.
Blade asked casually. "Where do you think you're going, Logan?"
Wolverine stated simply. "I've got some personal business that I need to take care of."
Selene asked softly. "Would your 'personal' business' have something to do with a cabin somewhere in the Canadian wilderness?"
Logan asked with a surprised look. "How did..."
Amelia answered for her lover with a smirk on her face while touching her right ear. "That's the advantage of being a vampire, Logan: enhanced hearing. Blade, Selene and I can hear what you and others are doing or saying from our quarters."
Logan stated simply. "My business in Canada doesn't concern you."
Blade would counter while scoffing to what his friend and co-leader just said. "Not our concern? Logan, after you and the others involved us in your fight against both the Brotherhood and the M.R.D and made me the co-leader of the X-Men, everything you do is our concern!"
Selene stated after her brother. "We're not moving until you tell why you're going back to Canada!"
Logan softly with somber eyes. "Last night...I had a horrible nightmare...where I did something...something unforgivable."
Amelia asked softly as she, Blade and Selene turned to each other shocked and speechless to what they just heard. "Logan...are you saying?"
Logan stated simply. "That's just ii, Amelia...I don't remember. That's why I need to go...to find out if I did."
Blade stated softly. "Then we're coming with you."
Selene stated softly. "We have history in the Canadian Wilderness...and nobody knows that terrain better than the four of us."
Amelia added after her adopted sibling and mate/lover. "Plus...you'll probably need someone to make sure you don't do anything stupid or crazy while we're there."
Logan simply stated with a smirk while mounting onto his motorcycle and putting his helmet on. "All right...let's ride."
Meanwhile, at the Brotherhood hideout
Rogue and Domino were having a drink together at the table, with the marked female mutant looking at her girlfriend with love, thinking about how she was the first one to touch her heart for the first time in years.
"Like what you see, Dom?" Rogue asked a bit seductively.
"Yeah, Marie, you." Domino said before they touched their bare hands together before quickly separating as Quicksilver came out of his secret room, went to a sleeping in his underwear Blob and told him that it was his turn before going back in before Blob stood guard at the door. Domino leaned in and whispered to her girlfriend. "I'll go to the roof and you listen in on Quicksilver, then come straight to me once you get some information."
"Got it, love. I'll be right there." Rogue whispered to her lover before they secretly held hands before Domino went to the roof.
When her girlfriend was out of sight, Rogue walked past Blob and into the door before watching Blob for a second and leaning towards the crack in the wall, listening in on Quicksilver.
"I've earned your respect, father. I've proven myself over and over. But what you're asking me to do is nearly impossible, especially now that a blood-sucking raccoon is co-leading them." Quicksilver said to his father with doubt.
"So you're saying you don't have the guts to do it?" Magneto asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I mean, I'd still like to have my blood in my veins, but of course I can do it. But after we pull it off, I expect to be welcomed back to Genosha." Quicksilver told his father.
"1 step at a time, Piatro." Magneto told his son before breaking contact.
Rogue heard all she needed before heading up to the roof and walking up to Dom, who embraced her girlfriend. "So, what did you find out, sweetie?"
"Quicksilver was talking with Magneto and as usual, he wants to prove himself and be welcomed back to Genosha. And whatever Magneto wants him to do, it involves the X-Men since I heard Quicksilver refer to Blade." Rogue answered.
It was then that Domino knew that she and her girlfriend needed to get away from the Brotherhood or else they'd end up doing something they'd regret that would very possibly get them imprisoned in an M.R.D facility and potentially separated from each other, maybe forever, and Domino wasn't about to let that happen. "Then let's get out of here and head to the X-Mansion, Marie."
Rogue smiled before sharing a passionate kiss with her girlfriend. "You're making the right decision, Dom: choosing the X-Men over the Brotherhood and Magneto."
Domino shook her head while looking closely into her girlfriend's beautiful green eyes. "I'm not choosing the X-Men, Marie, I'm choosing you." Before they began passionately kissing for a while.
Later in Canada
As Logan, Blade, Selene and Amelia rode into the Canadian Wilderness...they were completely unaware of the surveillance cameras secretly filming them and how the footage was being studied by a group of scientists and computer technicians in a top secret facility, where the officer in charge activated his radio headset as soon as they recognized the Adamantium clawed Mutant and his three vampire allies. "Dr. Cornelius? We have a situation."
After the officer informed him about Wolverine, Blade and the two vampiress lovers, the lead scientist in charge of the facility had sprinted into a room, where he stepped on a platform that activated a holographic projector...where a hologram of the Professor appeared.
The thought to be dead mad scientist asked respectfully. "Yes?"
Dr. Cornelius answered professionally. "I apologize for contacting you on such short notice, Professor, but I thought you should know that Weapon X has been spotted in Zone 53: the Nord property."
The bald headed Mutant hating scientist stated softly after hearing that disturbing revelation. "We have always suspected that this would happen."
The orange haired scientist stated softly before cut off. "Sir, Wolverine needs to be eliminated now, before he fully..."
The Professor had strongly objected. "No! Wolverine represents a substantial investment during the Weapon X Project. We're nowhere through with him yet."
Cornelius stated strongly. "Then we should've captured him a long time ago!"
The Professor countered professionally. "As you no doubt know, he's far too dangerous to be brought in alive and important to kill."
The orange haired scientist stated strongly. "But if he's starting to remember who we are and more importantly, what we did to him."
The Professor stated with a cold grin on his face. "There's no need for concern Doctor...especially since there's two old faces who wish for a rematch against our 'old friend'."
Dr. Cornelius smiled in return, as he knew whom it was the Professor was referring to and stated. "Professor, there's one last thing I thought you would like to know: Wolverine isn't alone. The three vampires we encountered while hunting the Hulk are with him."
The bald headed mad scientist stated as the grin on his face grew wider. "That is rather good news, Dr. Cornelius. Very good news indeed."
After the Professor had terminated the holographic projection from his end, he slowly turned around to face two Mutants that were standing a few feet behind him: Sabertooth and Lady Deathstrike!
The bald headed scientist stated softly. " Oh, Sabertooth."
The towering clawed Mutant asked while growling in an intimidating manner. "What is it, Professor?"
The mad scientist replied while showing the holographic pictures of Wolverine, Blade and his siblings. "Four old friends are returning home."
The moment they saw the photographs...Sabertooth and Deathstrike had smiled evilly, as they had been waiting for the opportunity to face Logan and his vampire allies after they defeated them, Red Omega and Deapool with the unexpected help from the Hulk.
The Professor stated plain and simple. "I believe you and Deathstrike know what to do."
The Japanese clawed Mutant replied. "With pleasure, master."
Sabertooth replied. "Gladly."
Meanwhile at the X-Mansion
After hearing the doorbell ring, Bobby answered the door while eating an apple...and stared surprised he saw Rogue and Domino standing right outside.
The brunette stated softly with her blue/gray skinned girlfriend behind her. "Hey Bobby. Are Logan or Blade here?"
Before he could answer, Hank had stated softly. "I'll take care of this, Bobby. Why don't you finish helping Kitty in the library?"
Bobby stated weakly. "Um, yeah. I'll do that."
After the young blonde had walked away, Rogue stated while sighing softly. "Hank."
The blue furred Mutant replied softly. "Rogue. Miss Domino."
Rogue asked softly, "Are Blade and Logan here?"
Beast stated softly. "I'm sorry Rogue, but Logan and Blade aren't here and neither are Selene and Amelia. They left for Canada earlier this morning."
Domino asked softly. "So that's who those 2 women are. And since they're with...Blade, I'm assuming that they're... vampires, too?"
"Right you are, miss Domino." Hank said with an impressed tone.
"Well, when will they be back?" Domino asked.
Hank replied honestly. "In all honesty, I have no idea when they'll be back."
Rogue asked softly. "Would it be alright if we came in?" Before Hank could object to their request, the young brunette stated softly. "Hank, please. Dom and I didn't come here to cause trouble. We just need to speak to Logan and Blade."
After remembering how Charles stated that Rogue and Domino were important to preventing the nightmarish future he was currently trapped in, Hank sighed softly before replying with a soft grin. "Please, do come in." He said politely before stepping aside and allowing Rogue and Domino to enter the Mansion, while they did while smiling and holding hands.
Meanwhile back in Canada
After eventually finding the location of the cabin and looking inside, seeing marks that matched Logan's claws, Logan and his vampire friends had turned to their left...where Logan stared in deep surprise/shock, as spotted the girl from his dream riding on a horse...whom had a look of horror on her face, which slowly changed into a hateful glare as she recognized Logan and screamed in great ire. "You!"
Before Logan, Blade and the two lovers could even react, the teenage girl had created a huge psychic blast that sent large sized boulders flying in their direction! Luckily for Blade, Selene and Amelia, they had managed to avoid the rocks...but unfortunately, Logan wasn't that fast and the teenage girl continued to bombard him with rocks/boulders and slamming into the snow covered soil before encasing him in stone and dragging him inside her cabin: where she demanded to know why he murdered her father...only for Logan to tell the girl, Christie Nord that he couldn't remember anything.
However, before Christie could interrogate Logan further...that was when Sabertooth and Deathstrike had suddenly appeared: with the Japanese clawed Mutant had knocked the teenage girl unconscious with a powerful roundhouse kick to the back of her head...while Sabertooth simply approached Logan with a cold and sadistic grin on his before throwing him out of the window!
Once he was freed from his rocky 'prison', Logan had groaned as the force from the throw had left him slightly disoriented...before glancing up to see Deathstrike pouncing down at him with her nail like claws out and was fortunately saved by Blade, who delivered a cartwheel kick that struck Deathstrike underneath her chin and left her stunned long enough for Selene and Amelia to land a tag team flying kick to her chest, which sent her skidding close to the cabin as Sabertooth walked out through the front door.
Blade stated while growling softly with his eyes slightly glowing green through his shades at the sight of the two surviving members of the Weapon X Team. "You."
Sabertooth stated with a dark grin on his face, along with Deathstrike. "That's right Daywalker. Miss us?"
Selene asked, as she and Amelia were slightly taken back to see Sabertooth and Deathstrike still alive. "How are you two assholes still alive?"
Amelia added after her lover, "Bruce defeated the two of you, along with your teammates Red Omega and that annoying idiot Deadpool!"
Sabertooth stated while chuckling softly. "Well, you're only half right vampire bitch: your buddy the Hulk did defeat me and Deathstrike, but fortunately our healing factors saved us...along with the surviving agents of Weapon X."
"Figures. Logan told me how you and he were very similar to each other in almost every way. Guess I should have remembered that included healing factors!" Blade said with a growl while getting out his sword and unleashing his right hand claws.
Deathstrike added after her surviving teammate. "Ah, we see you've been making great use of the gift that the Professor gave you. That is good." But now, we have a score to settle with you vampire scum as well as Logan-san! Now, die!"
It was then that the fighting began, with Logan and Blade fighting Sabertooth while Selene and Amelia took Deathstrike. The 2 vampiress lovers were using their graceful moves and teamwork to deal several blows to the nail-clawed mutant despite Deathstrike getting in some hits and cuts on them herself. It seemed like an evenly matched battle until Selene and Amelia landed a tag team punch that stunned her long enough for them to grab her arms and used their strength to pull them off, making the sadistic japanese mutant scream in pain before she and her arms were thrown into the rushing river.
But it was the fight between Blade, Logan and Sabertooth that was the most interesting: as Sabertooth was punching his long time rival, the clawed mutant was seeing more of the fragmented memory.
Flashback, some time ago
Wolverine, named Weapon X at the time, had been assigned to hunt down a mutant named Nord but had found that he had a little girl named Christie that he hadn't been told about. And while communing with Sabertooth, who was his partner at the time, Nord attacked Logan and after throwing him in the barn, while inadvertently causing a fire from a lantern in the process, warned him to stay away from him and his daughter, which Logan had said that nothing would make him happier than to do so. But that was when Sabertooth attacked Nord with an electric blaster and after a fight with Logan, who tried to save the mutant father, was knocked by his rival. Logan then went to save Nord from the burning barn but heard Christie calling out to her father and as the barn was coming down, Logan saved the little girl as the barn finally came down. After Logan was sure that the unconscious little girl was alright, he went back for Nord but found that he was gone and so was Sabertooth.
Flashback end
After Logan fully remembered what happened, he came to the conclusion that Sabertooth was responsible for that night and the people he and Deathstrike worked for. "You did this! Why?!"
"Because you didn't have the guts to." Sabertooth answered with a snarl. "I had to clean up your mess."
Logan then cut up a tree branch and hit Sabertooth with it, sending him back and onto the ground, allowing Blade to punch him in the midsection with unimaginable strength that wasn't normal for a vampire, as it was enough for Sabertooth to cough out blood before spin kicking him away before pouncing on the sadistic mutant and using his claws to slash him and cut him repeatedly, making Sabertooth bleed a lot before he healed, kicked Blade off of him and get back to his feet before he pinned Blade to a tree.
"Hahahaha! Feels good, doesn't it, Blade? All the rage of the inner animal and monster inside you just begging to be let out. Come on, Daywalker, embrace what you are. LET THE MONSTER INSIDE YOU OUT! IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY LIVE WITHOUT FEAR! LET YOUR INNER ANIMAL OUT! EMBRACE WHAT YOU ARE INSIDE!"
"Never." Blade hissed defiantly as he glared with hate at Sabertooth.
Sabertooth growled at this defiance and grabbed Blade by the throat. "You will embrace what you really are, Blade, 1 why or another. I'll see to that!"
But that was when Logan stabbed his claws into his rival's back, making him roar in pain as he let go of Blade as Logan turned him around, allowing Selene and Amelia to empty their bullets into Sabertooth before Christie, who had recovered, used her power to hit Sabertooth with a rock before pinning him to the tree before making the ground send the tree into the river, with Sabertooth on it.
As Logan went to Christie, who was exhausted after using her powers, Blade, Selene and Amelia hugged before they looked and saw Christie smile at Logan, implying that she'd forgiven him for that horrible night, making them smile as their mutant friend had gotten some closure.
Sometime later
Blade, his vampire sisters and Logan had returned to the X-Mansion before they were greeted by Emma and Hank. "Welcome back, my friends." Hank said with a smile.
"Good to be back, Hank." Selene said, happy to see her new mutant friend again.
"So Logan, did you find what you were looking for?" Emma asked.
"Some of it." Logan answered before smiling sincerely at the blonde telepathic female mutant. "Thanks, Frost."
"You're welcome." Emma said with a smirk before she turned serious.
"Something wrong, Emma?" Blade asked with a raised eye through his shades.
"Yes, Blade. It appears we, more specifically you and Logan, have 2 long expected visitors waiting for you in the living room." Emma answered before she and Hank walked them up to the living room before the 3 vampires and their metal-boned mutant friend saw Rogue and Domino, sitting on the couch.
"I believe these 2 have some important information for us about Magneto and the Brotherhood." Hank said with a serious look on his face.
Blade and Logan then walked up to the 2 lesbian mutant lovers before crossing their arms. "Listen to me, you 2: normally I'd put you both in holding cells for what you both did, but Charles told me that you both were important to stopping this war. So, for his sake, as well as the entire world's, I'll hear you both out."
"But if we think you're both lying, you're both going into holding cells and after that, straight to an M.R.D facility. Is that clear?" Blade asked with a warning tone of voice.
"Yes. But you both will give me your word that when we tell you everything, Dom and I stay here and out of holding cells and no one in this mansion never even thinks about tryin' to take her away or hurt her." Rogue demanded while glaring at Logan.
"Same thing goes for Marie, Wolverine. I don't care if you and Blade are the leaders of the X-Men, the Avengers or the entire fucking planet and I especially don't care if you have those damn healing factors, if any one of you even look at her wrong, I won't hesitate to hurt any of you to protect her. Got it?" Domino asked with a threatening tone of voice as she held Rogue close to her, much to everyone's confusion.
"Understood, Domino. Now talk." Amelia told them both.
Meanwhile
Deathstrike, who had put herself back together with Sabertooth's help, and Sabertooth himself, were giving their report to the Professor, who had told them that Wolverine and the 3 vampires were going to have to be dealt with soon before breaking contact.
After Sabertooth, who still wanted to make Blade even more like himself now that he'd seen the Daywalker's inner animal rage, and Deathstrike, who wanted revenge on Logan, Selene and Amelia, walked into the hallway, they saw Maverick, who was walking his own way. "Hey, Maverick, quite the daughter you got. She's definitely someone we'll wanna look at."
Maverick stopped in his tracks as Sabertooth and Deathstrike passed him before saying. "Daughter?" He asked, revealing that he was Christie's father, long under the control of Weapon X.
