(Alex's Pov)
Morning was just a few hours away and Anne was still sleeping, resting her head on my lap now as I just wrote some things down in my journal and I hear the wagon door open and I look to see Sprig walking out. He looked over to Anne and I and he hops over to us, I just go back to looking at my notes.
"How is she?" He asked.
"Tired, but at least she is resting up." I say to him.
"What about you?" He asked and I think a bit.
"I'm tired too but I'm use to not sleeping for a long time." I explained.
"Do you need me to take a watch shift?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Nah it's fine, morning is just a few hours away." I say and write something down.
"You write a lot." He says and I nod.
"I keep notes of lots of things, and to keep me busy." I tell him. I then look to him as he looked to Anne a bit and I raise a brow at him.
"Is something wrong with Anne?" I asked him.
"No, I mean… she's really happy that we are all back… she's really happy to see you, and we're going to get Marcy back." He says and I nod.
"That's the plan pink frog." I joke and look to Anne.
"I overheard you and her talking." He says.
"Oh?" I asked and look to him.
"You aren't mad that I was listening in?" He asked.
"A little but we weren't really quiet." I say to him and he looked to me.
"You know Anne is really going to miss you if you stay." He says and I nod.
"I know, but hey like she said, if her and Marcy have the music box, they should be able to come back and visit, I mean she would want to see her adoptive family too, so she'd be visiting you guys more." I tell him.
"Why would you think that?" He asked. I shrugged at this and placed my hand on Anne's head and rubbed it a bit. I remember her saying that this is soothing to her but after all these years I don't know.
"You've been with her for ten years… I missed out on school so I'm not smart enough back in our world, I mean Marcy was a prodigy back home so she could find a job wherever, Anne probably has some new and better friends… I don't want her to think I'm my old self." I explained to him.
"You mean manipulative and mean and angry and just all-around bossy?" He asked and I chuckled a bit.
"Yea… some days I feel like I am even if I'm told I'm not… I lost Anne's trust because of it… especially when I tried to take over Newtopia." I say.
"But to be fair even though we all didn't know about King Anrdias's plan it was a good idea." He says.
"Yea but… I don't know, I'm just trying to work all these things out, but it seems like I'm just not good enough." I whispered lowly and looked to the flames.
"I think you're doing a great job though; I mean you got all the frogs, toads and newts to work together, that's something no one has been able to do for a long time, plus you found a new continent another temple and you're trying to help your friends." He says and I look at Anne.
"Thanks… you know you aren't really that bad." I say as I punched his shoulder gently.
"I had some growing up to do, I mean I was immature as a kid, I mean we all were kids when you guys first arrived… except for HopPop, Grimes, Ms. Croaker-." He lists off and I smiled at this.
"Yea, we were… so… how are Anne's parents?" I asked him.
"Oh, they are amazing, I don't know if Anne told you this story, but there was this one guy Ned, who would constantly eat at her parents restaurant, and he wanted to try and make a food truck business with their recipes, he basically wanted to show the world their food, he had good intentions but went the wrong way about it… anyway I was trying to sabotage the food truck and Anne comes out to try and stop me, let's just say Anne is a great driver…. Though Ned should really get those breaks fixed, we crashed a lot." He says and I laughed a bit.
"Ouch, bet Mrs. Boonchuy was not happy." I say and he nods.
"She was worried for us, but as she was scolding me, I just couldn't help but smile, and Anne said I was family at that point." He says and I look to him.
"Hmm, I didn't think about that, I mean I was scolded for a different reason I don't think Mrs. B was too fond of me at the time." I say.
"Are you kidding? She's worried sick for you and Marcy, after she got letters back from your parents, she was angry at them." He says and I look to him.
"Letters?" I asked.
"Anne wrote letters to your parents and Marcy's parents close to Christmas time, saying you two were ok and that she's going to try her best to get you two back, your mom wrote a letter back and Mrs. Boonchuy didn't look to happy, she started cursing in Thai, Polly wouldn't tell me what she said, and it got worse when she saw the letter from Marcy's mom and dad… they just left, they still moved even though their daughter was missing, it isn't right." He rants and I place my hand on his shoulder.
"Dude calm down… did she get a letter from my dad?" I asked and he nods.
"He's worried, at least he cared for a while, but… I don't know I guess it's because it's been years, he… just stopped writing and visiting Anne." He says and I moved my hand away.
"Your parents are confusing." He says and I laughed.
"Yea… they are… that's probably why I acted the way I did; I mean now that I'm older I get some of what they did but honestly, they just weren't happy with each other… I once thought that they were forced to stay together because they had me… just a drunk mistake." I mutter the last part.
"But dad was nice in his own way, he just didn't know how to raise a family and it was scary, I mean my parents are younger than Marcy's and Anne's so I don't blame him… it just hurt when he left me with mom." I tell him and I look to sprig.
"Don't tell Anne I said that, she doesn't know that." I mutter to him and he zips his lips.
"I swear I won't." He says and I nod.
"But I will say maybe you need to talk to her about that." He says.
"One day, maybe after we get Marcy back and we've rested up but… not now." I tell him. I see the sun coming up and I feel Anne shift a bit and I look down to her and Sprig goes back to the wagon.
"Hmm." Anne mutters and I look at her and removed my hand.
"Morning." I say to her and she looked up to me then quickly shoots up from her spot and almost hit me but I moved my head out the way from hers before we both got hurt.
"Shit, did you get any sleep?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea, I ended up passing out after you." I lied to her and she looked to me.
"Did you really?" She asked and I nod.
"Yep, just woke up a few hours ago." I tell her, which I would argue isn't much of a lie but it's better than nothing.
"Breakfast time." Sprig says as he comes out with Polly and we start making breakfast. After we finished and cleaned up the area, we began walking and I keep my guard up still and we get to an abandoned field.
"Hey we're close to the library." Polly says and I look to them as they hurry on over to this small hill in the ground.
"Oh right… we can't get in unless we go through the sewers." Sprig says and I scratched my head.
"Isn't in on like a timer? Grimes told me about this place." I say to them.
"Well… we may have broken the timer." Anne laughed and I look at them.
"How… you know what, I don't want to know." I say.
"Let's just say Sprig wanted an adventure and not read books, but yea, that's actually it." Polly says I chuckled at this.
"Hey, you're super strong maybe he can open the door." Sprig says.
"Dude, let's try it." Anne says as she looked to me and I looked back to the library entrance.
"I can try I doubt it would work." I tell them.
"Do it, do it, do it." They chant and I roll my eyes and head down to the door and look at it. I try to find any opening to put my hands through but I couldn't find one so I grabbed my sword and put it between the door and the wall and started to pry it open.
"You can do it." I hear and I was able to pry the door open just enough to get my hand through, so I put my sword back in its sheath and I put my hands in and pulled the door open more getting it open enough to fit through.
"Damn that door is a bitch." I say as I moved back and cracked my back a bit.
"The fact that you could get it open is awesome." Polly says and I nod to her and I smiled. We all go into the room and I see plenty of books that were on the ground all over the place and I pick one up.
"Dang, I forgot how much of a mess we made." Anne says and I laughed a bit and opened the book.
"Oh, this could be good for making new weapons." I say as I turned a page.
"Oh, yea there is lots of books here." Sprig says and he hops around and I look to Anne as she picked up a book and then looked to me. she looked back to the book and I looked around a bit and I could hear Polly cheer as she found some books and I look to the side a bit as I looked around the small library and I look through the books a bit.
"Looking for something in particular?" I hear and look to Anne as she stood next to me.
"Trying to see if we could find anything on the core… just anything." I mutter as I grabbed a book and looked to it.
"I don't think we could." She says and I nod.
"I doubt we can but it would be great to find anything." I say quietly and put the book back in its spot and look at Anne.
"We can look around." She tells me and I nod as we look around the library a bit. I found some books I might like and I see Polly walking around with a stack of books and I see Sprig reading something. I look to the back of the library and I open a few books here and there but nothing about what was going on.
"Hey Anne I think I found something." Sprig says as he hopped over to us and I look down to him.
"Didn't that pot say something about mother olm?" He asked.
"Yea, it did." She says as she grabbed the book.
"Pot?" I asked.
"Oh, right I forgot to mention that when we had gotten back to the human world, I might have lost some sleep and decided to rob a museum." Anne says and I stare at her in shock and she looked to me.
"So yea this book." She says and opens it.
"Frogdangit, I can't read this." She says and I look at the pages.
"Oh, it says 'Head to the caves in the abyss and you will meet with the mother of all olms, they know the prophecy better than anyone.' I read to them.
"Yea but what abyss?" Polly says as she comes by and I think.
"I think I know where, Andrias had a drill in one abyss but we destroyed it and he hasn't tried anything yet." I explained.
"I don't think it might be important if he didn't go back to it." Anne says.
"Maybe he was in the wrong spot… but we can try right?" I asked and Anne nods.
"After we finish up the robots we can head there and see if we can find anything." She says and I nod at this and we took the book and headed out. I made sure to close the library door and we head back to Bessy and we begin to walk for a bit as the Planter kids rode on the snail. I was reading the book more and I look over to Anne as she kept looking forward. I looked back to the book and scratched my head a bit when I get to a drawing in the book. It shows our three gems and some giant eye.
"Hm." I chuckled a bit but I made a note of it in my journal.
"It's funny." I hear and look to Anne.
"You became the one thing you didn't want to be… a nerd." She says and I laughed at this and nod.
"Yea… I guess I have." I say and I stay quiet and set the books in my bag. A few days would pass by until we get to the valley and I see what looks like giant robot heads and I watched as Anne and the Planter kids just walk into the so-called building and I look around a bit. I follow them into the building and Polly gets to work by taking the robots memory chips and I watched her as she got to work.
"Hey Polly has this; we can rest up a bit." Anne tells me and I nod a bit.
"Ok." I say and we go and take a seat and I watch the screen a bit. numbers and letters would pass by on the screen and I keep my eyes on it for a bit.
"You, ok?" Anne asked and I nodded and looked to my journal again and wrote some stuff down.
"You write a lot." She says and I nod.
"I heard that just writing things down could help with stress, anger, and just any emotions really, I think it's best if I do this." I mutter and I draw a bit in the book.
"Marcy said something about that once." Anne says and I look to her.
"Don't worry, we will get her back." I say and place a hand on her shoulder.
"So can you teach me how to read this?" Anne asked as she pointed to the words and I think a bit and I nod.
"Sure, but I want to know about the museum." I say and she laughed.
"Ok so, basically, I was doing a crap ton of research and I didn't sleep enough like I should have and we went to the museum well there was a vase or pot thing that had a frog like the planters on it, standing on two legs holding something and well let's just say we decided to rob it from the museum, thank god Doctor Jan was cool about it and all she actually helped us, along with Terri." She says and I nod at this.
"It was written in amphibian but we only found the word olm to be familiar from Marcy's journal before we were transported back to the human world." She says and I nod as I show her how to spell things out. I then handed her and Sprig some papers as I taught them the alphabet, and they would write some sentences down.
"Oh, oh let me see your book, I just want a blank page." Anne says and I look to her then to my book and I nod as I opened it to a random page, I didn't pay any attention to where I opened the book for her, she was looking at the page a bit and I was about to ask if she was stuck on something but she started to write something down but then closed the book and handed it back.
"You can only read it when you find it, after the other pages are filled." She says and I look to my book and I nod a bit at this and looked to Sprig.
"GOT IT!" Polly yelled and I look to her and we all get up as she put the last of the Memory chip in her bag.
"We can head out now, it was easy." She says as she cracked her knuckles and I nod.
"So, what made you interested in robotics?" I asked her as we walked and they rode on Bessy again.
"When I was trying to fix up Frobo, I just… wanted to bring him back after Andrias destroyed him… but I ended up finding these girls online who work on robots and I studied with them, they taught me all I know, and I taught them some things too." She explained and I nodded at this. I look to the sky a bit as I placed my hands behind my back and thought a bit.
"Seems like even you have things figured out." I spoke quietly and looked to see Anne talking to Sprig as he and her were walking ahead of us.
"I'm still figuring out my life, trust me I'm not sure if I want to just make robots, I want to make lots of things." She says and I look to her.
"Like work with all types of electronics?" I asked and she nods.
"Yea, maybe I could help advance this world, just imagine if I could make phones here." She says and I chuckled at this and nod.
"That would be great to see." I say and scratched my head a bit.
"So how was Anne?" I asked her.
"She just hid her emotions sometimes in her work, we did lots of things to keep her mind off, of getting us home, she was tiering herself out with all that worry." She says and I nod.
"She loves you guys; I mean you are her family." I say and I look at Polly who nods.
"She missed you and Marcy, but I think Sprig told you all that." She says and I nod at this.
"Hey want to hear about the jerk Sprig and I scared?" She asked and I nod.
"Heck yea I do." I say.
"Polly, no." Anne says and I look at her and then back to Polly.
"Aww come on, we didn't get arrested, plus the dude was a jerk." She says and I look between the two.
"Ok I need to know this now, tell me." I say to Polly.
"Two against one Anne, I have to tell." She says and Anne groans.
"Fine." She says and I look at Polly as she smiled.
"So, this guy asked Anne to prom right-."
"Shit dude you went to prom?" I asked and Anne looked to me.
"No, she didn't." Sprig says and I look at Anne and then to the ground.
"Sorry I didn't… I just." I stopped before I could say anything bad or hurt Anne's feelings in anyway.
"He was a massive jerk, kept bothering me when I told them I didn't want to go and when they came to the house Sprig and Polly made him run screaming by telling them about how they could hide the body in plain sight and no one would care if he went missing." Anne says and I look to all three of them.
"It's true, scared him so much he ran from the house." Sprig says and I laughed at this.
"This is so good; I wish I could have seen it." I say as I walk up to Anne.
"You probably would have done the same thing but with more knives in the area." She says and I laughed and nod.
"Yea, I think I would." I looked to the lands a bit before we get to some cliffs and I see the old drill we destroyed long ago.
"Over here." I say to them and point to the drill.
"Do you see anything?" Sprig asked and I shook my head but we all went down the cliff and I looked around the area a bit.
"Is there any entrance?" Polly asked and I kept looking around.
"Calamity Gems found." I hear and we turn quickly to see some robots.
"What the fuck."
"I THOUGHT YOU SAID THEY WERE GONE?!" Anne yelled as the robot blasted their lasers at us and we dodged the blasts. I grabbed my sword and before I could swing a robot had come up to my face and hit me square in the jaw making me fly backwards about ten feet.
"ALEX!" I hear and I get up just to have the damn thing get on top of me.
"Stop." I hear and look to see the robot move off me and I look up to see Darcy.
"Mar-mar?" Anne asked.
"Ah if it isn't Anne Boonchuy, how long has it been? Ten years?" Darcy says and I glared at them.
"Marcy." Anne says as she tried to go up to her.
"ANNE STOP!" I yelled and she looked to me then back to Darcy. Darcy then began to laugh and they looked to me.
"So, Sasha, how are you? Didn't think it would take you this long to come back here but I'm guessing we were right about this location." They say to me.
"Fuck you." I tell them and they laughed at this.
"Nothing else to say? Oh well doesn't matter, I'm just wondering how little Boonchuy here got back." Darcy says as they go up to Anne. I was about to go and block Darcy from getting near Anne but the robots stopped me. I watched as Darcy walked around Anne.
"Hmm last I remember you weren't all that smart, so how did you get back Anne?" Darcy says.
"I don't know…I really don't." She says.
"I think you do… I know it has to involve your powers, but you didn't have to box… was it, Sasha?" They said and I look to Darcy as they looked back to me.
"Seeing as she got her powers back, but how?" She says and I glare at them.
"Not talking hu?" She says and snapped her fingers. The robots grabbed my arms and then pinned me to the ground.
"ALEX!" The Planters and Anne yelled and I look up to Darcy as she put her foot to my head and I felt something pat my body and I tried to move.
"Well, what is this? Trying to be like little Marcy and taking notes?" Darcy says as they waved my journal and I look up.
"Don't-."
"I don't think you know me to well to know that I don't care." Darcy says as she flipped through the book and they laughed.
"Hear this, 'Dear Anne-."
"STOP!" I yelled and she looked to me and smiled.
"I cannot tell you the truth-."
"I SAID STOP IT!" I yelled and Darcy laughed as they flipped the page.
"Oh, what is this? You found another temple?" They asked and they took their foot off my face and the robots lifted me up and I look to see that the other robots had everyone else in a hold.
"Oh, isn't this wonderful another continent, another temple, more power?" Darcy says as she come right up to my face. The many eyes on the helmet looking at me and I looked down before they grabbed my face making me look at those eyes.
"Even Marcy didn't know of this, and yet you were able to find something new." Darcy says.
"It was dumb luck." I mutter and they laughed at this.
"How's that back doing ya?" They say and I wanted to punch them in the face but I was held back.
"Fuck you, you're nothing but a bunch of dead fuckers that can't deal with the fact that immortality is a stupid concept." I tell them and they laughed.
"Immortality a stupid concept?" My dear Sasha, we are God at this point." They say.
"No, you aren't, you're not a god at all." Anne says and Darcy cracks their head and looked to them and laughed.
"You haven't been around as long as I have… now tell us, did you find any other continents?" Darcy says as they back up and look through my book.
"Stop reading that." I say getting pissed and they smirked at me.
"What's this? 'I wish I could truly be me, but without Anne or Marcy I can't?' Oh, dear Sasha, Marcy didn't think of you as a friend, you made her feel worthless, why do you think she hasn't tried to stop us? She's having so much fun in her fantasy world that we gave her… give it oh I'd say seventy to sixty years and she'll be apart of the core soon enough." They say and I get mad. I was furious as I was able to get out the robots grip and I punched Darcy in the face and they laughed and looked at me and then punched me back and one of the robots pulled at my arm and it hurt like hell but I didn't show it.
"Hmm, too strong I see." They say and then look to Anne.
"Hurt her." Darcy says and I look to Ann as she yelled in pain as one of the robots pulled her arm backwards.
"STOP YOU'LL BREAK HER ARM!" I yelled and Darcy made me look at her.
"That's the point dumb, dumb." She says as she pats my cheek and then she snapped her fingers and the robot stopped.
"Now are you going to tell me what I want to know?" She asked and I looked to Anne then back to Darcy.
"I don't know, I swear." I tell them.
"So sad… but I think you're lying." Darcy says and snapped her fingers again and Anne screamed and I shut my eyes tightly.
"OK, OK THERE IS ANOTHER TEMPLE!" I yelled and the screaming stopped and Darcy let me go.
"Where?" She asked.
"I don't know, I have been trying to find it but I swear I don't know where." I tell them and they look through my book.
"Got any more books?" She asked and I look at her.
"You haven't just been writing in this thing for the past ten years, now where are your other books?" She asked and I looked to Anne and the others.
"In… Wartwood, I left them in Wartwood." I tell them.
"Hmm, robots bring them with us." Darcy says and we all get cuffed and I get thrown to the ground.
"Come on get up." Darcy says and I lift myself up from the knees and then onto my feet. We start walking towards Wartwood and I was walking next to Anne.
"Why would you tell them?" She whispered mad and I shut my eyes but kept walking.
"Alex." She says getting angry.
"I wasn't going to let that robot break your damn arm." I whispered getting mad myself.
"Who cares, what if they do find the other temples then what?" Anne says pissed and I shake my head.
"I… I just didn't want you to get hurt." I tell her as a robot shoved us to walk faster. I looked to the Planter siblings as they walked next to Bessy and I look to the ground.
"Alex." She says and I just kept quiet.
"I fucked up." I say and looked to Darcy as they walked ahead of everyone.
"What?" Anne asked.
"I wasn't all truthful with you when you asked me about what I've been doing for the past ten… well five years." I tell her.
"Tell me now, if my family is in danger-."
"I know I know it's just… complicated, ok? you have to understand I didn't even tell Grimes or the other Newts." I whispered and looked to the ground as we walked.
"What is it, Sasha?" She asked and I shut my eyes tightly. She was mad she has every reason to be.
"I know where the other two temples are, I never thought I would need to tell anyone because well… damn it you were gone and I couldn't save Marcy… I went missing from the group for a few months, I just told them I was out scouting and it took longer than expected." I whispered and I see Darcy turn around and grin at us with that weird creepy smile.
"Oh, do my ears deceive me? did I just here what I think I did?" they asked as they stopped everyone and they came up to me.
"I knew you were lying." They said.
"I just can't remember where; I need my notes back in Wartwood." I lied and they pick me up by my shirt.
"DON-."
"SHUT IT HUMAN!" Darcy yelled as they looked up to me.
"Is the rebellion still in Wartwood?" Darcy asked and I shook my head at this.
"Where are they?" They asked.
"We split-."
"DO NOT LIE TO ME AGAIN!" They yelled as they threw me to the ground.
"I followed your calamity stone; I know where they are you idiot." Darcy says and they smirk.
"The old remains of Toad Tower, hehe, don't worry though we have everyone already locked up for treason, wait until we execute them all, and I'll make sure you get the front row seat… Sasha." They say to me and I look at them before they kicked me in the gut and I stayed down.
"STOP THIS, MARCY I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!" Anne yelled and Darcy looked to them. As they did, I got up and tried to tackle them but a pair of robotic hands grabbed me.
"You humans, so emotional… it's a pity to your kind, where as we don't care." Darcy says as they grabbed Anne.
"Marcy doesn't ever want to come back after you two betrayed her… poor thing just wanted you all to stay friends, how was she to know that the box would work, and you turned your backs on her." Darcy says.
"THEY DIDN'T!" I hear Sprig yell and I look to him and so did Darcy.
"Hmm, can't believe that one of my sons' old friends had a family, and all they have left is a worthless being like you." I hear and look up as it was only one voice and not multiple.
"Can't remember that stupid frogs name but it doesn't matter, we got back the box and she is long dead… made Andrias the way he was, just like these two made Marcy who she is now." They say and I glare at them.
"Marcy please you have to listen to us-."
"She's not here at the moment, but if you'd like I could leave a message for her, though then again she doesn't want to talk to either of you." They all say and I get back up before I feel a flaming blade close to my neck.
"So, what was this about you knowing the locations of the other temples?" They asked.
"You wouldn't even be able to go in them even if you tried." I tell them.
"And why is that?" They asked.
"These temples are far different than the first three we went through, plus Marcy's temple can detect what isn't there." I tell them.
"And you know this how?" Darcy asked. I keep silent and they put the blade close to my eye.
"Tell me now or you lose your eye human." They state to me and I look at them and take a breath.
"Brains is not what is needed in Marcy's temple, being smart won't work, but the temple itself can detect a foreign body… it did it to me." I tell them.
"Ah so you have been there, I'm guessing it saw you weren't really a boy hu?" They laughed and I glare at them.
"No matter I can have an entire army waiting on the other side and we can take Marcy back easily, now… where is it located?" They asked. Again, I didn't speak.
"Alex." Anne says and I look to the side a bit with my eyes before something hot was pressed into my eye I gripped my teeth in pain but as it was pushed deeper and deeper, I screamed in pain as I felt a hand grab me and pushed the blade deeper until it was ripped out.
"GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!" I yelled as I went to cover my eye. I didn't feel blood but of course it was a flaming hot dagger that just went into my eye. I looked up and my vision was fucked to all hell and I glare at Darcy.
"TELL ME WHERE IT IS!" Darcy yelled before they put the dagger close to my other eye.
"TELL THEM ALEX!" Polly yelled and I look to Darcy and took a few breaths.
"GOD, DAMN IT TELL THEM!" Anne yelled and I look to her. Just as Darcy was about to stab my other eye they stopped and I look at them.
"It's on this continent, is it?" Darcy asked and I nodded slowly.
"Where?" They asked again.
"Under… under the old university." I tell them.
"Of course, how could I miss this…. Oh well." Darcy says and they look at me and then put their hand under my chin.
"Hmm, eye damage… you'll be just like that Toad Grimes." They say to me and then shove my face to the side and I stopped myself from going completely to the ground. I feel Anne place her arms on me and I shoved her off as Darcy ordered the robots to head to the old university and I watch as they look to me.
"That's two to zero Sashy, I'll take great pleasure in ripping you apart." They say as the robots then took us to Newtopia. We were locked up in a cell in the outer parts of Newtopia, since we couldn't exactly get into the town itself when part of the walls had been destroyed. I sat down and felt my injured eye a bit and hit the wall with my fist not even making a dent in it.
"Darcy took the Memory cards." Polly says and I lay my head on the cool wet walls.
"Not like it would help us anyway." I mutter.
"What is wrong with you?" Anne asked and I look to her.
"You were all bad ass and not taking shit from anyone now look, what happened to you?" She asked and I look down.
"I can't… it's nothing." I mutter.
"Alex." Sprig says and I look to him then back to Anne and Polly as they all looked at me.
"What was I supposed to do?" I asked.
"I don't know, beat them up?" Polly asked.
"And hurt Marcy? I felt bad for even punching that thing… it's still her body, I just…" I stopped and placed my head back on the wall.
"Dude, I don't think Marcy would care if she gets bruised up a bit if it was to try and help get that damn helmet off of her." Anne says.
"I don't know that… you don't know that; I don't want to cause her anymore pain…" I say to them.
"Is what that thing said getting to you?" Sprig asked.
"It doesn't matter, they can't get into Marcy's temple, and Anne can't even go into her own without all three of us." I tell them.
"Why though? You know all this but aren't telling us anything." Anne says and I look to them.
"When I went into my temple it wasn't physical." I tell them.
"Yea you said it was mental." Anne says as she takes a seat next to me and took a look at my eye.
"Right… I was able to go in the temple for a bit but the doors didn't open to me but gave me some writings… Marcy can't be controlled by that thing because it knows when you are basically lying… Marcy wasn't good with telling the difference between the truth and a lie when it came to Anne and I… then Annes… I don't know it just said something like 'the heart needs two to help in its quest'… I just I was hoping we would never need it." I tell them.
"Was there anything else in Marcy's temple?" Anne asked and I shrugged.
"I have no idea… I couldn't stay for long." I tell her truthfully and she nods.
"I just… I'm sorry I." I tried to speak but stopped and Anne gently touched my wound and I hissed a bit at the pain and she moved her hand away.
"Sorry." She panicked and I nod a bit before I see a Newt come over to us as they held something in their hands.
"Master Darcy says this is for the injured one." They say and Anne takes the supplies and I looked to the ground as the newt left the room and I looked to Anne as she showed me the bandages and medicine.
"Hm… cut my back up and don't give a damn, cut my eye and send a gift." I mutter and kept my head to the wall.
"Does it burn?" Anne asked as she looked at me and I shrugged.
"It's warm." I mutter.
"This day is just confusing hu?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea… I'm still a liar." I whispered.
"You aren't… I get why you would want to keep that a secret… I shouldn't get mad at you for doing that." She says and I chuckled and then kept quiet as she dapped the medicine on my face and I hissed in pain and back up.
"Fucking hell that burns." I say as I look to her.
"Sorry." Anne tells me as she moves the rag away and I shake my head.
"What else are you keeping from us?" Sprig asked.
"Lots of things, but trust me, you don't want to know, Darcy would do anything to get that information." I tell them. Anne places the rag to my eye again and I hissed again.
"Leader of the toad army and rebellion but can't handle this?" She asked and I glare at her and she placed the rag back.
"Fucking hell." I mutter and she looks to me.
"It fucking hurts." I mutter.
"I know… I know." She says and wrapped the bandages around my head and to cover my eye and I look at her then to the ground.
"So, what is going to happen?" Polly asked.
"Darcy might head out to the temple themselves… and a small army… they have to let Marcy go on her own." I tell them.
"But they don't know how to go through the temple." Sprig mentions.
"They have my journal… so they have somewhat of the information." I mutter and shake my head a bit.
"Damn." Anne says and I look at her and then back to the ground.
"I'm… tired." I mutter and I feel Anne rub the back of my head a bit.
"Get some sleep." She tells me and I nod and closed my eye. I don't know how long we had been here, we would just wake up and be given some form of food and just sit in silence for god knows how long. That is until Andrias and Darcy came to us.
"Well, seems we finally got the leader of the rebellion, oh hello Anne." Andrias says and I glare at him and he looked to me with a smug look.
"Dropped your guard for a short while there… your friends weren't much of a challenge." He says and I was going to punch him but I stopped myself.
"Anyway, let's bring them with us, this should be fun." Darcy says and the cell is opened and we were grabbed by two robots but Sprig and Polly were left in the cell as Anne and I were taken out the makeshift cell. We were taken outside the jail and to the outdoors, we were taken to the university and Darcy shoved me to get to the entrance of the temple.
"Show us how you got in." They say and I glare at them and take a breath as I go up to one of the books and look to find the right one and I pull it out. Though most people would think that the shelves would move for a secret entrance but no it wasn't like that. Instead, what happened was, the book illuminated a bit and a key comes out. I grab it and closed the book then looked around and went over to the old statues and popped the book from the one Newts hands. I inserted the key into the newt's hand and turned it, the floor shakes a bit and the floor opens a bit with some flames showing on the side and I take a breath.
"Hmm… interesting." Darcy says and I shake my head as I grabbed one of the torches before Andrias took it from me.
"We need that as we go further in." I say and take them down the stairs in the floor. They followed me and some words would appear and I see Darcy looking at them as they walked.
"Think you can pass this test? Bring two companions to see how you will succeed." Darcy says and I look to them.
"Think you can pass the test, don't bring two brains to see how you will succeed, they made a mistake." I tell them.
"Hmm I doubt it, I wrote this." Darcy says and I look to the side.
"The temple changes?, at least this one." I mutter as I am shoved a bit by the robot and I glare at it then start walking.
"And if you wrote this how do you not know what to do?" I hear Anne ask.
"Lots of Newts in this mind, not everyone speaks up." Darcy says.
"Unless they want to sound like smug bitches." I mutter and Darcy appears in front of me and smirks.
"You have it all wrong dear Sasha." They say and grabbed my face and moved the bandages and I move my head away before they could take it off.
"Did some damage hu?" They laughed and I glare at them. We get to the entrance to the temple and Darcy looks to Andrias and nods. He takes the helmet off and we are shoved into the temple door as it locks behind us and I go bang on the door.
"FUCKING PRICK!" I yell and looked around a bit. The temple didn't flash red like last time and I look to see Anne helping Marcy up as she woke up.
"Hmm?" I hear Marcy mumble and I keep my eye on the door.
"What's going…. Anne?" Marcy says and I look around and read what is on the wall.
"'Though foreign bodies are not allowed, the three gems alone are allowed?' This is a load of bullshit this makes no sense at all" I say and shake my head at this. I then look to Anne and I see Marcy looking at us.
"Sasha? Anne… what's… where are we?" She asked and I shake my head and went to grab my journal but I groaned as I remembered that Darcy took it.
"Fucking god damn it I don't have time for this." I say and go to grab one of the torches on the side.
"Wait hold on Alex." Anne says and I look to them both.
"Look it seems this temple does mind games too and I'm not about to get… fucking." I mutter and I look to see Marcy looking around.
"We need to talk to Marcy though." Anne says and I look to the side.
"Fine." I mutter.
"What is going on?" Marcy asked as Anne helped her stand completely.
"Look, Da-… the core is wanting you to gain your powers back-." I tried to explain.
"They have the gems though." Marcy says.
"Yes but Alex found other temples if we were to lose our gems powers." Anne says and I look to Marcy.
"Ale…. Oh god I'm sorry I just-."
"It's fine, I know… look I've just been… I've been looking into how to gain my powers back to try and get you away from that thing but it's not enough, somehow the core was able to track us with my powers and it's just shit… anyway this is your temple." I say point blank and she looked to both of us.
"I'm still confused but… what do I need to do?" She asked and I shrugged.
"When I came here myself it tried to… eh… let's just say I wasn't able to get to the door." I mutter and looked around a bit to find any new writings.
"Alright… let's do this." Marcy says and we all nod as we looked around the temple walls.
