Chapter 15: The North Pole
Usagi walked down the street, slower than usual. Anyone who looked close at her could see that she did not sleep the night before. The girl walked to the usual spot in the park, where a clock tower and her boyfriend Gohan awaited. The saiyan was reading a physics book, but after seeing his girlfriend in her groggy state place the book inside his bag. Walking up to the girl and placing his arm around her, he smiled a bit when she leaned her head onto his chest.
"You ok Usako?" Gohan inquired.
Usagi just leaned into his chest, silent as she never was before. Gohan lifted her head up and looked into her eyes. The boy saw that those eyes were puffy, another sign of her lack of sleep. Her normal energetic self seemed non-existent at that point.
"Gohan, I….I...couldn't save them," Usagi tearfully said.
"Couldn't save who?" Gohan replied.
"Those...officers," Usagi said as more tears came out of her face.
"Usako...was that what happened last night with you?" Gohan questioned gently.
"….Yes…." Usagi said with a nod.
"It was her first time….seeing death," a voice said.
Gohan looked down to see Luna, her guardian cat. The saiyan started an attempt to find the words to say to his girlfriend. The boy brushed strands of her face as she looked at him with curiosity despite the fatigue.
"I wish I can say some magic words to make it go away. My time on Namek shook me so many times. When I wasn't angry, or hunting for dragonballs, I saw much death. Time helps numb the pain, but that pain never goes away. All one can do is remember what we are fighting for, and to make sure their deaths are not in vain,"Gohan replied with as much empathy as he could.
Usagi managed to dry the tears up a little. Her boyfriend's words were absorbed into her mind as she knew he was right. The girl managed to steel herself enough to break away from his embrace. She looked eye to eye with Gohan and with a determined look, nodded at him.
Luna couldn't help but keep her attention to the couple as they walked toward their respective schools. The cat also heard what Gohan had said and knew that deep down, the Dark Kingdom needed to be finished. Beryl has fallen, but Luna knew that was not the final victory. Metallia still remained at large after all and Vegeta was still under Dark Kingdom control.
The day went and night came. Gohan stood on top of the roof as if he were waiting on something, or someone. The boy looked to the night sky as he awaited whatever he was waiting for, contemplating everything. From the look of his girlfriend that morning, to a mental message that Piccolo gave him a short time before.
Gohan had just eaten dinner with his family, though the mood seemed solemn. The teen saw that despite having his usual appetite, Goten didn't speak all that much about school like he usually does. In fact, the younger half-saiyan didn't say much of anything.
Chichi was worried about her little son, as she voiced as much to Gohan after Goten excused himself. The eldest son gave a small nod to his mother, and went into their room. The little one looked at his brother, who's sadness was written all over his little face. Gohan walked up to him and squatted down to his height.
"What's the matter Goten?" Gohan asked.
"Gohan...have you seen dead people before?" Goten answered with a question.
"Yes Goten, yes I have," Gohan answered with a serious inflection in his voice.
"We couldn't….couldn't….save them," Goten said.
"I couldn't save those that died either. But we could bring them back with the dragonballs," Gohan told his brother, which seemed to cheer him up a little.
"You mean it!" Goten replied.
Gohan gave a simple nod to the little brother. The little guy jumped into the arms of his brother, who returned the hug in kind. Before they could get any further, a voice spoke into the head of Gohan.
"Go to the roof Gohan, I'll meet you in a few minutes," the voice said.
"Ok Piccolo, will do," Gohan answered mentally.
The two brother's broke their brief embrace and Gohan stood up straight. The boy smiled at his brother as he walked out of their room.
Gohan stood there and awaited his former mentor. The wait wasn't long however as the green skinned Namek in the blue gi, white cape and turban flew toward the butcher shop rooftop. The alien landed right in front of his former pupil. The saiyan smiled as he saw his friend and the two walked toward each other.
"Gohan, I want to ask you something," Piccolo said.
"Go on," replied Gohan.
"The enemy has received a key loss in one of their queens. I assume Usagi told you about the death of Beryl," Piccolo said.
"She told me as I walked her to school. How did you learn of her death?" Gohan asked.
"After we returned to the city, I spoke to Artemis. He told me everything….even Sailor Moon's reaction to the dead officers," Piccolo said putting emphasis on the last part.
"Usagi felt terrible. I tried to calm her down and I would like to think I succeeded on some level," Gohan added.
"Hmph, well what I want to say is….I think it's time we bring the fight to the Dark Kingdom's doorstep," Piccolo earnestly spoke.
Gohan stood in silence for a moment. Then a smirk, not unlike a certain possessed prince, crept it's way onto the half-saiyan's face. A part of him always wanted to take the fight to them, as he knew he had to eventually.
"Are you sure of this?" asked a voice.
Both Piccolo and Gohan looked over and saw the voice belonged to Artemis. The white cat was accompanied by Luna and the two cats trotted their way to the namek and the saiyan. Gohan looked like he was paying attention, while Piccolo seemed slightly annoyed by the cat's intrusion.
"Do you believe the senshi are up for such a task?" Luna asked.
"Well it won't just be the senshi or Sailor Moon. I know Piccolo will probably be with us, and you've seen what Goten and Trunks can do," Gohan replied.
"And besides, the girls would want to finish this thing I imagine," Piccolo retorted with a sneer.
"What about Sailor Moon? What about her Gohan?" Luna asked, not appreciating the gruff response from Piccolo.
The teenager stood and thought for a minute. On the one hand, she would want this crisis stopped. On the other hand, the whole thing about that particular morning weighed heavily on his mind. Another factor was Queen Serenity, and how she said that an integral part of Metallia's defeat was Sailor Moon.
"Hmm...I guess I'm going to have to convince her," Gohan lamented.
"It's what a leader has to do Gohan," Piccolo added.
The young fighter took a breath. A rose appeared in his hand and in a split second the saiyan turned into his alter ego. The boy looked around while in costume and gave a simple nod to his best friend and the two felines. Taking off, he hoped that he could convince Sailor Moon to go to the Dark Kingdom Base.
Usagi looked out of the window at the moon. The girl felt a feeling of insomnia, something Usagi almost never feels. She was not alone for long, as she saw her boyfriend in the Tuxedo Mask guise approaching. The girl smiled as her Gohan had gotten close to the window. The young man managed to return the smile, but went back to a serious look afterwards.
"Usagi, I won't make you do this. Piccolo and I spoke and we believe it's time to take the fight to the enemy," Gohan spoke.
"Gohan….I don't know if I can.." Usagi replied.
"It's the only way I know how we can live in peace. We finish Metallia, get Vegeta back, and no more monster attacks," Gohan stated.
Usagi fell silent. The girl's thoughts raced through her head from all their adventures, to the latest battle. She thought about the fall of Queen Beryl and that dead officer that she saw from those few feet away. The monster's that she fell and all the good times she had with her boyfriend. A part of her knew that her friends would want to finish the fight the same as Gohan wanted. For the second time in the 24 hours the girl appeared to swallow her fear and look straight at Gohan's face.
"We'll do it," Usagi simply said.
Gohan nodded in understanding. Nimbus flew right in front of Gohan and it was like the cloud invited Sailor Moon to ride.
"Mobilize the senshi, I'll get Trunks, Goten and Piccolo. Nimbus wants to carry you it seems," Gohan said just before he left his girlfriend and the cloud behind.
Vegeta sat on the throne that Beryl once occupied. The Saiyan Prince held his head as if he had a neverending headache. Thoughts of his wife yelling at him, Gohan and Goku calling him weak, and especially Goku bullying him. The prince silently cursed everyone and everything that allied with him in the past.
'Look at the 'Prince', he's so weak,' the makeshift Gohan taunted.
'I always knew he was pathetic,' the mental illusion of Kakarot spat.
'You aren't even a fitting father! A complete loser,' shouted the construct of Bulma.
"I don't care about any of you...I will kill you all!" Vegeta shouted as the constant dark magic bombarded his mind.
The prince had no time to resolve his thoughts because Kunzite and Jadeite entered the room. The two general's knelt before Vegeta as if he were the new commander. Prince Vegeta looked up and saw the two kneeling former subordinates of Beryl.
"What are our orders, Lord Commander Vegeta?" Kunzite asked.
"Hmm….this is something I thought I would never see. People bowing to me. I think I can get used to this," Vegeta said with a smirk.
"You deserve it, Lord Vegeta," Jadeite said with an empty, soulless groan.
"Hmph, anyway we bide our time my generals. We will catch them or they will attack us one. Either way, we will crush those senshi...and Gohan will join his father soon!" Vegeta said, his voice becoming more demonic with each and every word. It seems that Metallia had firm control of the Saiyan Prince for the moment.
Usagi went to the headquarters with her sailor senshi. Ami went into the terminal and put in a search for the Dark Kingdom base. Makoto stood over the left shoulder of Ami, while Rei stood over the right shoulder. Minako stood a few feet back alongside Usagi as the mainframe searched for the enemy.
"I know it's in the North Pole...but I don't know exactly where it is," Minako told the group.
Ami narrowed her search to around the northernmost axis on the Earth. After a few moments, the program detected a huge pool of Dark Energy and pinpointed the location of said energy. A window popped up, the edges glowing a bright red. The bluenette typed in a command and the pop up came onto the big screen.
"D point," Minako said as she glared at the screen.
"So there's the location," a voice said behind them.
The group turned around and saw Gohan and three other fighters. One was Piccolo, a green skinned alien that's very hard to miss. The other two were Goten and Trunks in their respective costumes. Gohan was still in his Tuxedo Mask attire.
"Gohan!" Usagi said as she heard his voice point out the screen.
Usagi ran up and hugged her boyfriend. The boy reciprocated the hug before the two separated. The group looked on at the little scene and couldn't help but have a small bit of admiration for the two.
"Are we ready to go?" Piccolo asked the girls.
The senshi nodded at the Namek, confirming that they were prepared. The girls transformed into their senshi forms and stood in front of the group of four males. Gohan smiled as he was ready for the Sailor Teleport.
"Why don't we fly there? That place might have protection against teleportation," Piccolo suggested.
The group nodded and then teleported to the roof of the butcher shop. It was figured that it was as good of a place as any to take off from since they were familiar with the building. Upon arriving one woman stood in front of them. That woman was Gohan's mother, Chichi.
Gohan was surprised to see his mother, but not as much as the senshi and the two cats were to see her. The group whispered amongst themselves, worrying if the woman knew their secret identities.
"Don't worry, she's known about my abilities ever since I was a child. She hasn't revealed my secret as Tuxedo Mask, nor has she revealed the identities of my two little assistants," Gohan said in reassurance.
The group heard as Chichi drew closer. The woman looked face to face with her son and gave him a hug. Gohan returned that hug as he knew that she worried about them, despite their powers. The teen smiled at her, but the woman returned a stern look back at the hero.
"Gohan, promise me you will bring the boys back home when Metallia falls," Chichi demanded.
Minako tried to interject, but Gohan put a hand up. Sailor Venus huffed, but settled down as she knew that she was going to discuss things with Tuxedo Mask later.
"I promise mother," Gohan replied.
"Thank you, and Sailor Senshi...good luck to all of you," Chichi said before she walked away and went down the roof ladder inside the square on top of the roof.
Gohan and the group took off into the sky. The senshi summoned their energy spheres and took off along with the four Z fighters. The group were flying to the North Pole in hopes that they could destroy the Dark Kingdom once and for all.
Gohan and the group approached D point and it looked truly barren. The only feature it seems was a rock shed like structure over what looked to be a hole in the ground. The heroes touched down and looked over the point that Ami's computer said the energy was coming from. Two figures came out of the ground and a giant group of dark clouds with a purple glow grouped together in the sky.
Kunzite and Jadeite smiled at the nine as the cluster took shape. A huge pair of wide-eyes in a slanted shape appeared with a gigantic, evil smile. A four pointed star appeared on what one would call the forehead of the spirit creature.
The saiyan felt the energy of that creature. Gohan couldn't believe the raw power that the dark spirit was carrying. The senshi were frozen as they saw Metallia and heard her cackling.
"This creature…..it's pure evil," Gohan muttered.
Gohan was snapped out of his stupor however as he felt Vegeta's energy. A smile crept up on his lips as he felt the conflict of light vs dark within the Prince of Saiyans. Focus couldn't be kept upon Vegeta however, as there was a standoff between the two remaining generals and the five sailor senshi. Goten, Trunks, and Piccolo stayed behind them just in case the two of them went in for the attack.
Five Youma came out of the hole and stood behind the generals. The demon's form was similar to each other in the fact that they were in the shape of slender women who were scantily clad and wore high heels. The hair of each demon was in a different style and varying lengths.
"Hello girls," Kunzite simply said.
"Hello Master Kunzite," replied the blue-green skinned blond demon in the blue split one piece.
The girls then stood to both sides of the generals. The blond who was the leader stood closest to Kunzite with the purple skinned sandy blond and the red skinned ashen haired one standing beside her. The pinkish skinned one with brown hair and the green skinned one with the black hair stood to the other side of Jadeite. The girls and the generals gazed at the group, ready for the fight.
At that instant, Piccolo and the two boys joined up with the senshi. The two kids readied their Tuxedo Bo Staff and the Metal Bo staff respectively. Piccolo glared at the generals, while Gohan stood beside Sailor Moon at the front of the group of heroes.
"Jadeite, Kunzite, I know you remember your past. There is still time to reject Metallia," Gohan said.
"Reject her...she is our great ruler!" Jadeite replied.
"We are not traitors," Kunzite simply said.
Gohan heard their answers and knew that he would have to do what he did to Zoicite and Nephrite to snap them out of their spell. It was then Piccolo made his way beside Gohan. The namek cracked his knuckles and sneered at the possessed generals.
"Gohan, we can take care of this rabble. At first opportunity you and Sailor Moon go inside and hunt down Vegeta. We will join you as soon as we can," Piccolo suggested to Tuxedo Mask.
Gohan nodded, but then the youma decided to step to the side of the generals for the moment. The girls smirked at the opposing side as if they felt that the upper hand was theirs. The blond, blue skinned one started first.
"We are the D.D. Girls," blue skinned youma said.
"We are the strongest demons under Queen Metallia," said the pink skinned one.
"We will crush the Sailor Senshi," said the purple skinned one.
"And you filthy saiyans," said the green skinned one
"Metallia shall consume all," the red skinned one proclaimed.
"You know what….you girls need clothes," deadpanned Trunks.
"Trunks...maybe they're too poor for clothes," Goten innocently replied.
Reactions ranged from a sneer from red, a scrunched up face from the green, a huff from the purple, a glare from red, and a growl from gritted teeth from blue. Trunks's statement was one thing. Goten's, on the other hand, felt that it had struck the pride of these monsters deep down.
The generals were nonplused about the matter while the senshi snickered at the kids evaluation of their dress. Even Gohan couldn't hide a smile at Goten's unintentional put down. Piccolo smirked at the little insult for he knew that soon it would be serious. Jupiter was especially proud of her little buddy for the put down.
"What's a matter did Goten make you angry!" Trunks said before he gave the girls the bird.
The boy then proceeded to taunt the opposition by turning his back on them. The boy then threw his cape to the side and lifted up the back side of his tunic. The spandex was two pieces, like his father wore lately, as evident by him dropping his pants a bit. Trunks then proceeded to moon the generals and the youma to the shock of the senshi, Goten's indifference, and the embarrassment of Gohan and Piccolo.
"I'm telling Bulma if we get out of this alive," the embarrassed Gohan said with a red face quietly to himself, hoping she would give him a spanking.
"You do that Gohan.." Piccolo said as he was just as humiliated as Tuxedo Mask.
The blue skinned DD girl fired an energy ball out of her mouth. The blast hit true as it slammed into the exposed buttocks of Trunks, who leapt up into the air and then flung himself butt first into a snowbank. Relief was shown on his face as the snow cooled his backside before standing up and putting his pants back on.
"I think that was the first strike," Saiyaman said as he readied his metal staff once again.
Mars used her Akiyo Taisan attack in retaliation. The blue youma was on her guard and withstood the flame with only a single scorch on her head gear with wings on the forehead. Tendrils came out of the blue senshi and wrapped around Sailor Mars. Moments later electric shock came through the tendrils and struck the fire senshi.
A blast came out of the hand of the purple clad Saiyaman and slammed into the black tendril. The appendage broke in two and the wrap came off of Sailor Mars. The girl was stunned for the moment, but had gotten to her feet and recomposed herself.
"You didn't think it was going to be that easy did you," Trunks taunted, though he was much more serious and left out the gestures.
The five DD girls shot out their hidden tendrils at Trunks in response. Though Saiyaman was dodging the attacks, one of the tendrils wrapped around his foot. The little fighter paused, which caused all of the other tendrils to take advantage and wrap around his other appendages and one around his neck.
Trunks started gathering his ki. The little boy grunted and then screamed out a kiai, breaking all of the tendrils wrapped around him. Mercury put up a mist while the other three senshi fired their attacks at the girls. DD Girl purple was struck by the Akiyo Taisan and it did a good deal more damage than the same attack did against the blue one. The red one was struck by Jupiter's Supreme Thunder attack and the shock kept her in place for a bit before it stopped. Purple DD felt that attack for sure. The green one was struck by a crescent boomerang, knocking her on her ass. The demon sprang to her feet, but felt the pain on her forehead where the attack struck.
Blue DD Girl waved her hand and the mist dissipated. Chibi Tuxedo Mask flew at the blue youma with a kick, only for his foot to get caught. This surprised Goten as the monster threw him at Saiyaman, who caught him and the two were knocked into the cold ocean. The two saiyans shot back out of the water and hovered just over the landmass where the battle was taking place.
"These aren't going down so easily," Trunks said to Goten.
"You're telling me," Goten replied to his best friend.
The senshi fired their attacks, only for the DD Girls to dodge all three. The generals made their move and fired green energy blasts at the senshi, who put up a shield to protect themselves. The blasts kept hitting the shields testing the girls resolve.
Gohan and Usagi were able to get back and watch the fight from a short distance. Sailor Moon was rather confused as she was on nimbus while Gohan looked for an opening. Frustration set in as he couldn't find a way for him and his girlfriend to get inside to pursue Vegeta.
Piccolo joined the two of them and watched for a bit as the battle commenced. The namekian looked over to his right and saw Goten and Trunks.
"You two, turn Super Saiyan!" Piccolo ordered.
Trunks and Goten nodded and their powers flared up. Saiyaman lost his helmet and Goten's top hat and mask disappeared. The hair of the two of them stood up and became as golden as the two's surrounding aura. A light shone as the transformation happened, which distracted the two generals and the five DD girls.
Piccolo looked toward Gohan, who took it upon himself to duplicate the two little saiyan's transformation. The top hat was gone, but his mask did not disappear. The teen took off his mask and looked toward Usagi. The girl smiled at the now green-eyed Tuxedo Mask smiled back before the two of them focused on the battle.
"When we charge in, break off you two into the entrance," Piccolo said.
"Piccolo.." Gohan tried to argue.
"Gohan, we can handle them. You need to knock some sense into Vegeta. As I told you before, we will join you when we are able," Piccolo said in a way that left no room for questions.
The Z fighters and Sailor Moon flew toward the DD Girls. Goten and Trunks strafed to opposite sides, and Piccolo broke toward the generals. Gohan went low toward the youma while Sailor Moon readied her wand.
The girls dodged the sweep, which caused Gohan to smirk. Goten and Trunks slammed their feet into DD Red and DD Purple respectively, and utterly destroyed them as Super Saiyans. Sailor Moon did not fire an attack as she and Gohan evaded the girls and went into the hole.
Gohan landed on his feet inside the cave. Nimbus stopped and Sailor Moon hopped off the cloud. Nimbus left the cave, which left the couple to explore the cave.
Torches with a blue fire lit the way as Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask made their way deeper into the hole. Drips of water fell from the stalactite filled ceiling and one landed on Sailor Moon. The cold water drop startled the girl and she latched onto Tuxedo Mask quickly. Gohan laughed a little and scratched the back of his head at his girlfriends response. Usagi broke her hug and swallowed an imaginary lump in her throat.
The twosome ventured far into the cavern, only for a grand sight to stop them. What stood before Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask was a grand castle that looked like it had merged with the rock face. The two of them entered the palace and found the inside eerily empty. As they made it through the various corridors and gatehouses, not a single general or youma was to be found.
The two walked on the path toward the castle keep. On that pathway, Gohan felt the ki of his enemy getting closer. The two paused and the half-saiyan looked up at the top of the tower. The Prince of Saiyans was atop that precipice as he looked down upon the couple, both figuratively and literally. A smirk graced his features as, despite the distance, the eyes of Vegeta and Gohan met.
"So Gohan, still wearing that ridiculous outfit I see," shouted Vegeta.
"And yet you are still in Metallia's control. What a shame," Gohan replied loudly.
"Vegeta, you can still be redeemed!" Sailor Moon shouted.
"Woman, shut your idiot mouth!" Vegeta blared at the senshi.
"She's right Vegeta! Fight this darkness within you!" Gohan urged.
Vegeta transformed into a super saiyan after Gohan's statement and took it upon himself to charge. The saiyan warrior threw a kick, which Gohan blocked with his forearm covering the side of his head. Vegeta jumped backwards and flipped to his feet, onto the walkway and grinned at the boy.
"Looks like you aren't going to make this easy….good, I expect no less from the eldest son of Kakarot!" Vegeta said as if he were looking forward to another fight with the boy.
The two saiyans flew toward each other, the two of them exchanged a flurry of strikes. Gohan happened to catch Vegeta flush with a punch however, and sent him into the tower. The structure broke apart and crumbled into a pile, sending rock, and dust everywhere. Gohan flew toward sailor moon and expanded his arms wide, creating a shield. Rock and stone struck the shield, but was smashed into pieces by said energy technique.
Sailor Moon couldn't help but look up at her man in awe as this was happening. When the dust settled, Tuxedo Mask let down his shield and kept his eye on the pile. After a moment, Vegeta shot out of the rubble straight up and stood floating above the pile. The saiyan prince smirked at the young warrior as he floated there, trying to figure his next move.
While Gohan and Vegeta fought…
Trunks and Goten stood with Piccolo and the senshi. The Generals were reeling with the three remaining DD girls. The girls then attacked the group, only for Trunks and Goten to pick off DD Pink and DD Green. The saiyans stunned the girls with their gut punches.
"Jupiter Supreme Thunder!" shouted Sailor Jupiter as electricity struck the weakened DD Green.
"Akiyo Taisan!" shouted Sailor Mars as a fiery ofuda crashed into DD Pink.
The thunder disintegrated the green youma, while the pink one was consumed by the fires of Mars. This only left the blue youma, who smirked at her foes. The girl had tentacles shoot out of her body, which caused the girls and the saiyans to dodge.
What awaited the blue youma was a namekian, with two fingers onto his forehead. Sparks crackled from those said fingers as it seemed that he was charging an attack. After a moment, Piccolo thrusts his fingers forward.
"Makankosappo!" shouted the green fighter as a drill beam came to the blue girl. The attack went straight through the chest of DD Blue and caused the monster to cry out in agony.
"Crescent Boomerang!" shouted Sailor Venus as she threw her trademark boomerang at the youma. The attack struck true, which caused her to disintegrate from the impact.
The generals were stunned from their youma allies falling to the group. Kunzite and Jadeite looked upon the senshi and it seemed like a realization came. Memories came flooding back to the two commanders of the Dark Kingdom. The senshi saw this change and started to hope, which caused the saiyans and Piccolo to stay put and observe.
"Kunzite, do you remember?" Sailor Venus asked her paramour.
"Jadeite…." Sailor Mars said as she looked rather remorseful towards him.
"Yes….Yes I do...Sailor Venus," Kunzite said, the fog seemingly disappeared in his mind.
Jadeite however looked at Sailor Mars. His mental fog was deeper than Kunzite's since he was resurrected back as nothing more than a slave. As he started to remember, a name came to his brain as his scarred mind began to reverse the brainwashing brought upon by Beryl and Metallia.
"Mars…." Jadeite said, which caused hope to reach the senshi of fire.
Hope was quickly dashed by the dark purple mass in the sky. A light of the same color as the entity shot out at the generals and crashed onto the ground they stood. A split second later, their physical forms were obliterated, not a trace to be seen. The four senshi were shocked to their core, and the three allies with them were shocked almost to that level themselves. The girls cried out as if a part of their souls were ripped out of them. Mercury and Jupiter had their arms around Mars and Venus respectively.
The wailing went on for what seemed like eternity, but was only a few minutes. The evil spirit cackled at the despair of her enemies. Piccolo however steeled his nerves.
"Girls listen! We have an enemy still to fight!" Piccolo shouted.
"How can you think about that when the loves of their lives were snuffed out!" shouted Jupiter.
"There will be time to grieve later! We have to figure out how to stop that thing in the sky!" Piccolo urged.
"We can do that," Trunks said as him and Goten charged their attacks to throw at the energy monster.
Venus heard that and saw the boys about ready to fire a Gallick Gun and a Kamehameha at the spirit. The leader of the senshi fought back her tears as she broke free of Jupiter's hug and shouted mightily at the fighters.
"You want to feed that thing!"
This distracted the boys for a second, to which Venus continued.
"You fire those energy attacks at Metallia, you will just end up feeding her. We need the Silver Crystal, as it is the only thing that can do away with this spirit." Venus explained to the boys.
"Hmm….so we have to wait for Sailor Moon...and maybe Gohan….I just hope those two knock some sense into Vegeta and soon," Piccolo said.
Mars broke from Mercury's embrace and gave a nod. The rest of the group nodded with her and played the waiting game as it were for the three inside the castle.
Vegeta flew toward Gohan and feinted a kick. The prince disappeared and reappeared to land a punch to the gut, which surprised Tuxedo Mask. The teen blocked the left punch to the head and landed an open palm to Vegeta's gut, which surprised him the force behind the open handed strike.
The two saiyans engaged into a knuckle lock. The struggle was so great that the wall that the warriors stood on began to crumble. Gohan, hearing the structure cracking, shouted for Sailor Moon to distance herself away. The senshi nodded and surrounded herself with a shield as she flew away from the battle.
The wall crumbled, which caused the two saiyans to sink into the structure. A short time later, Gohan flew out of the rubble, as if he were thrown. The saiyan was able to adjust himself in the air so he wasn't forced into another structure or onto the ground.
Vegeta sped toward Gohan in the air and the two engage into another flurry. The exchange ended after a couple of seconds when the teen landed a front kick to his opponents gut. The Saiyan Prince shot upward through the ceiling of the cave. Ocean water rushed into the castle from the hole, which prompted Gohan to fly toward Usagi and scoop her up in his arms.
Sailor Moon smiled as she held onto Tuxedo Mask and the two flew toward the cave entrance with utmost haste.
The couple shot out of the entrance, followed by the torrent of frigid saltwater shooting upwards like a geyser for a moment.
The couple rejoined the group, who all were happy to see the two heroes. The girls and the little half-saiyans got closer to speak with the two of them, while Piccolo floated slower than the rest of the group.
The small reunion didn't last long however as a light erupted a short distance away. Gohan, Moon and the team looked toward the light and there stood Vegeta, glaring at the other saiyan. The Prince looked all over the group and couldn't help but notice his son amongst them, already in Super Saiyan like all the ones with said blood in their veins at the moment on the battlefield.
Gohan's words from their previous battle began echoing inside Vegeta's head. Trunks also couldn't help but stand still as he locked eyes with his father. Then, the pain that pounded the head of the Saiyan Prince returned, stronger than ever. Vegeta screamed as his resistance to Metallia's control became stronger and stronger.
"Dad, what's wrong" cried out Trunks.
Hearing his son's voice caused an effect inside Vegeta. The red eyes that indicated his possession turned back to their almost black color. The fight inside came at a fever pitch as Vegeta continued to howl in pain. The onyx eyes then looked upon Sailor Moon of all people.
Usagi's Legendary Silver Crystal glowed in response. Moon gazed upon the wand, somewhat unsure what to do next. In a moment however, Vegeta would give her very clear instructions on her next move.
"Damn it girl! Hit me with that stupid attack you do!" Vegeta rudely shouted as he clearly indicated he wanted to be free of Metallia.
Usagi looked over at Gohan, who cracked a little smile at his girlfriend. That was the only cue she needed as she pointed her glowing crystal and wand at the Saiyan Prince.
"Moon Healing Escalation!" shouted Usagi as a silver beam shot out toward Vegeta.
The attack struck true, as the light of the crystal enveloped the Prince. At first Vegeta yelled in pain, but as the dark influence began to dissipate inside his head so did his pain. The prince fell out of Super Saiyan and fell to the ground. The group watched as the Prince landed on one of the little patches of ice and fell down face first.
Vegeta slowly got to his feet as the group approached the patch of ice. Gohan and Usagi landed first, followed by the senshi, saiyans and Piccolo hovering nearby just in case of any funny business. The prince wearily smirked at the couple.
"Gohan, you just had to copy your father and my woman didn't you," Vegeta spat out at his fellow saiyan.
"What do you mean, Vegeta?" Gohan returned with utter seriousness.
"You just had to make me give a damn!" Vegeta said as a little crooked smile cracked his normally stoic exterior.
The reunion wouldn't last long however as a purple beam struck Vegeta out of the dark sky. The energy hit Vegeta and consumed him in a mere split second, shocking the group to their very core. The entire group couldn't come up with the words as Metallia cackled again.
"My, my, Vegeta was a good servant...but an even better snack," Metallia proclaimed.
Before any words could be said, another attack was coming. This beam was headed toward Usagi and Gohan. Before it struck however, the crystal lit up again. The light surrounded the couple and put the two of them inside a crystal like structure. This however did not stop Metallia's beam from striking them, causing the two of them to vanish as well.
The senshi cried out as their princess disappeared, along with her prince. Goten and Trunks froze, tears coming out of the two children as they howled at the disappearance of Usagi, Vegeta and Gohan. Piccolo growled as the dark spirit cackled in apparent victory.
The entire world was covered in darkness. Inside the creature however was the crystaline Gohan and Usagi. It seems the two of them weren't consumed as of that moment, though said info was unknown to their allies. It seemed that the group had to figure out how to defeat this creature without Sailor Moon and Gohan.
Or did they….
A/N: This chapter took a while. I had a small bout of writers block, but I did overcome it. Hard sometimes to add necessary changes so that it doesn't become a true one to one fic with the series or the Manga.
