Rising Moon

Summary: A second chance wasn't something I, Aldrin Zevon, expected. I didn't expect to wake up in a five-year-old body in a forest, nor did I expect what would come after. A multiverse of possibilities has opened up to me, and I intend to take it for all it is worth. SI-OCxHarem, Fairy Tail/Multicross Story

Chapter 6

True to Selene's word, I quickly got the Crescent Talon down- within a few days given it was just the Lunar Fist but with my foot- and she then moved me onto the Moonlight Palm.

The Moonlight Palm was definitely the spell that was giving me some trouble. Given it used the concept of the fist and the wing attack, it meant I had to create an orb of magic in my hand and then fire it off using the concept of the fist.

Creating the orb was hard enough given I had to condense a lot of magical power but firing it off was very hard, and I often only got weak splutters, the attack backfired on me, or it did fire off, but I completely missed my target.

I grit my teeth as I tried once again, the orb floating within my hand before I pointed it forwards towards the rock and fired.

The recoil hit my arm again, sending it careening to the side and firing off to the forest, hitting and destroying yet another tree as I groaned and held my arm in pain, even as the demon healed it.

"Aww, you almost had it that time!" A certain blue haired dragoness called out from the side. "Keep going little brother, you can do it!"

Ah yes, this was something else that had begun in my life…

After calling her big sister, Qila quickly got over her shyness towards me and began to cuddle and dote on me happily. I didn't really fight very hard against it because it made my heart flutter.

Given Qila wanted to teach me her magic, we had three options on how to go about it. The first was the safe way of her slowly injecting her magic into me over a few days, the second was beating it into me, and the third was for me to empty my magic container and then have her transfer her magical energy over to me to fill my core with her magic, resulting in the two magics fusing together.

Qila had chosen the safe method of slowly injecting me with her magic over the course of several days. I didn't mind that since the process was painless, it just felt kind of weird.

What I did kind of mind was the fact that she kept holding me close, insisting I sit on her lap when not training and holding me like I was a stuffed teddy bear. Selene did not help matters either with her little giggles or cooing about how 'cute' we looked when we were cuddled up together, insisting on taking pictures.

Any other might be thinking 'aren't you happy to be so close to your crush?' Yes, I am, but it's precisely because she's close that I mind. I'm a five-year-old… No wait, it was October now, so my birthday had passed… Six-year-old boy, my mind is more mature so I'm able to think like that, but my body just can't really comprehend it properly due to not hitting puberty.

It left my body confused and left me rather uncomfortable as a result. Still, I endured it. Half because it made her happy, half because I really did enjoy cuddling with her. She was warm to the touch and was very careful with me. She acted like I was physically made of glass when we cuddled, and it resulted in some rather pleasant hugs.

"I thought Selene said you weren't clingy," I told Qila as the demon healed my hand.

"Only with her," she shrugged. "It's shameful for a dragon to cling to another dragon, even their parent. But you're human, so it's fine."

"Aren't I a dragon since I'm a Dragon Slayer?" I asked her.

"Dragon at heart, not in body."

It was always the shy ones, I swear…

"Are you done for the day?" She asked when she saw I wasn't moving a move to lift my palm again.

"Yeah," I sighed. "I'm done for the day; I don't feel like I'm gonna make any progress."

"Great!" She held out her arms. "Then it's cuddle time, little brother!"

I felt a blush rise to my cheeks, but walked over to her and turned, taking a seat in her lap, and letting her cuddle me. Her fingers ran through my hair, a happy hum leaving her hips.

It felt nice, but I was still so embarrassed and uncomfortable.

"W- Why are you so clingy to me?" I asked her.

"I always wanted to cuddle with my siblings and mom, but as a dragon I have my own pride that stops me from doing so," she told me freely. "But you are human, so I'm free to cuddle you all I like! I have hundreds of years of lack of cuddles to get out, and I'm gonna milk this for ALL it is worth over the next couple of days until your magic shifts…" She paused. "And maybe a bit after too."

I blushed a bit and grumbled. "Well, can you tell me a bit about Spatial Dragon Slayer Magic while we're here?"

"Oh, sure," she agreed. "My Magic has to do with Space and Dimensions, hence 'Spatial Dragon,' though I'm sometimes also called a 'Dimension Dragon.' The name is interchangeable, I'm just used to Spatial Dragon, you can go by Dimension Dragon if you want."

"I will," I told her.

She giggled in amusement before she continued. "Well, there are the basic of the basics. You'll need to do those a bit just to get used to using my magic before then moving onto the basics. The most basic spell for my magic is called 'Dimension.' Do you know about Re-quip magic?"

"Uh, yeah, I do," I nodded.

"It's similar to that, with the exception being that the user is able to enter their own dimension and bring others in with them. It is a dimension saturated with your own magic, allowing you to perform incredible feats. That being said if someone else's magic is stronger than yours, they'll be able to saturate the dimension with their own magic and take control, so to speak."

Ah, that explained how Erza defeated Misaki then.

"My magic is also one of the more interesting ones, even among Dragons. The reason is that my magic is able to traverse to other Dimensions not our own. My mom didn't know about the existence of other dimensions until I accidentally cut a hole in reality to Elentear, and then Edolas when I was a child."

"Edolas? Elentear?" I questioned, even though I already knew.

"They're dimensions that run parallel to Earth Land," she explained. "Edolas is a dimension barren of magic, while Elentear is abundant with magic, having too much. Basically, Edolas is zero, Earth Land is fifty, and Elentear is one hundred."

I gave a nod of understanding at her words, before motioning for her to continue her previous explanation.

"Right, opening a portal to Edolas. I was just a kid when I did it, and my mom praised me for my strength. It's also possible to open a portal to other dimensions," she admitted. "Though I only tried once, I ended up in a world without magic, but it was very different to Edolas. There were buildings so tall that people called them 'Sky Scrapers,' and very different technology. They even had this weird thing called a 'phone.'"

… Wait, did she end up in the real world? Er, the world I came from, rather? That was… Interesting, very interesting… Did that mean it would be possible for me to go to other anime worlds, like DxD or such?

I would have to keep that in mind.

"My mom actually made a spell based on my magic that lets me travel dimensions, using water as a catalyst. It's all 'Aqua Aera,' and it allows the user to freely travel between dimensions and places, so long as they know where they want to go. As opposed to mine, which is a bit more random in how it works."

That was… Very interesting, I'd have to see if I could get Selene to teach me this spell at some point, it was too useful not to learn.

"Though, with that being said, you need to have been to the place you want to travel to," she added, almost as an afterthought.

And, just like that, back to square one… That meant my best bet for travelling dimensions was to cut open portals with Dimension magic, and then pray that I landed in a place that didn't kill me instantly…

Yeah, I wasn't going to travel dimensions for a while. I'd stick to Earth Land, thank you.

"Anything else?" I asked her.

"Mm, you'll find out during your training," she squeezed tighter. "Now, back to cuddling!"

I felt my cheeks flush red… This was gonna be a thing, huh?

.

.

.

"Alright!" Qila clapped her hands together with a smile. "You've no doubt felt the shift in your magical container, I know I did, which means you're now ready to start learning my magic!"

"Yes, big sis," I nodded, looking at how happy she looked to be teaching me.

'Damn it heart, not right now!' I told my fluttering chest, trying to focus on her words.

"Well then, we'll start with the basics," she told me. "The talon, the roar, the fist, and tail!"

"Tail?" I questioned.

"Oh yes, instead of a Wing Attack, my magic instead uses the 'Tail Swipe.' The 'moulding' aspect generally changes depending on the Dragon. Like an Iron Dragon will have instead use a 'sword' given they change their body parts, or a Shadow Dragon will use a 'Slash.' Things like that."

I hummed, giving a nod. It certainly explained why Gajeel's never used a Wing Attack in the show, it just wasn't part of how his magic worked.

"Now then, let's get started!"

We didn't train for very long with the basics, admittedly. It was just a case of making sure I could use my Dimension Dragon Slayer Magic without my Moon Dragon Slayer magic interfering.

Oh, I planned to overlap the two of them and use them together at some point. But for now, I was learning them both individually. It would hopefully make using them both together simpler that way.

The fist, talon, and roar were all easy. The Tail Swipe required a bit of work, but honestly it wasn't too bad to learn given I had the Wing Attack down, and the Tail Swipe worked off the same principle.

"Right, and that's enough for the day," she smiled. "You did good! Sure, you already knew the concepts thanks to learning them with mom's magic, but you still did really well! You didn't let any of mom's magic bleed into your attacks at all!"

"It wasn't too hard," I told her. I did plan to merge the two together eventually to become a 'Moon Dimension Dragon Slayer…' Or would it be a Dimension Moon Dragon Slayer? Not important for now. I planned to merge the two together for a dual element mode… Maybe I'd see if I could learn other elements down the line?

I knew that Dragon Slaying Magic could be learned from books and studying, given Elefseria managed it. I should be able to do it too, though it would take some time and effort.

… Come to think of it, wasn't I going to turn into a Dragon eventually due to the Dragon Seed? Or was Selene going to seal herself in my body and create anti-bodies?

I wouldn't mind becoming a Dragon, but it would kind of suck if my situation ended up being like Irene's… Though that might also have just been due to the method Zeref used to turn her back to normal, now that I thought about it. Selene never seemed to have issues with tasting food.

"Hey, are you paying attention to me?" Qila demanded, making me snap back to attention.

"Oh, sorry," I told her. "I got lost in thought."

Qila pouted- oh god, that was too cute - and crossed her arms. "I'll only repeat myself one more time, so you better listen, okay?"

"Yes, big sis," I nodded. "Sorry again."

She uncrossed her arms. "Well, what I was saying is that mom wants you to focus on Moon Dragon Slayer Magic for now, my own will be secondary for you at the moment. Which means we'll work on it in your off time… But mom did give me permission to teach you one spell today."

"What spell am I learning then?" I asked her.

She grinned. "My staple spell. Dimension."

"Dimension?"

"Oh yes!" She clapped her hands together excitedly. "Let me show you."

She lifted her hand, and I watched as it was surrounded by a blue aura that glimmered and twisted around her palm. She swiped her hand to the side and where her hand passed, space distorted. A rift opened, unveiling a world of pure blue.

"What the…?"

"This is my spell," she smiled. "Dimension. By using my magic, I'm able to cut open a portal to my own personal dimension. It doubles as my home too, and I can go back and forth as I wish. I call it the 'Blue Dimension.'"

"Huh…" I felt legitimate excitement rise in my chest. My own dimension? Kind of like Kamui? Who wouldn't want that? "And what can you do there?"

"Oh, you can do a lot," she nodded. "But you'll have to supply the magical power to 'modify' it. So, if you wanted to build say… A house, you'd have to give magical power equivalent to creating the house. And you can't take things made in the dimension out of it, and you can't create things like food, that has to be provided another way."

Ah, so I couldn't just fully live in the dimension… Still, that was very good to know for the future, I'd definitely keep that in mind.

"Now, it's pretty simple do it," she told me. "Cover your hand in magic like with the talon, and then use the principle of the tail swipe to create a 'rip' in the world when you swipe your hand. And use the roar to supply the power, the natural effects of the magic should handle the rest."

I nodded at her words, looking down at my hand and focusing.

First, surround it in magic…

My hand took on a soft blue hue, wavering and flickering.

Then, shape it…

I cast my gaze forwards, picturing directly in front of me where I wanted the rip to be. I pulled my hand back, the aura within my hand taking on a sharp tint.

And then… Supply the power!

The aura around my hand ignited brightly and I swiped my hand across in front of myself.

Instantly, a rip formed in reality in front of me… But it wasn't like what happened with Qila's at all. Instead, it pried opening open slowly, unveiling an inky blackness that made me hesitate at what I saw… The way it opened was almost reminiscent of a Garganta from Bleach.

"Is that… Supposed to happen?" I asked her.

"Hm… I've never seen it happen like that before," she admitted. "But maybe it's different depending on the person doing it? Let's head on in. If needed, I'll overwhelm the magic in your dimension and make a portal back here."

I hesitated before I gave a nod. "… Er, will you hold my hand?" I asked her.

Shut up, I was nervous! This thing did not look safe!

Qila gave a soft giggle before she took her hand in my own. "I'm right here, no need to be afraid."

I took a breath and gave a hesitant nod before I stepped into the rip in reality together with Qila.

The portal snapped shut behind us, leaving us in a world of black. I couldn't see anything in front of me, the only thing that helped keep me calm from losing my vision was the fact that Qila's eyes were still glowing a soft blue, allowing me to see her partially illuminated face thanks to that.

"Hm, this is very different to mind," her voice mused, and it sent shudders down my spine. There was something sharper about it, perhaps it was the fact that there was nothing around us that made her voice much more pronounced. "How about you make it brighter?"

"Brighter? How?"

"This is your realm," she reminded me. "You have plenty of magical energy, from what I can feel, so just go ahead and flood this realm with your magic, give us light."

Give us light, huh…? I hesitated before I lifted my free hand and took a breath, closing my eyes and letting my magic flow around my body, focusing on letting it saturate this realm- my realm- and focused on two things. To give us light and change the colour of the dimension.

It took a moment, but eventually a brightness hit my eyes. I slowly opened them and gasped softly.

What was once a black void was now a beautiful silver realm, shimmering and gleaming like a new set of keys. More than that, I was actually able to see Qila as she floated with me in the realm, giving me a kind smile.

"Well done," she nodded. "This is your dimension now, truly. With time, you'll even be able to make a house and live here as long as you get your food from a difference source…" She paused. "Or if you bring some crops and such in here and handle them on your own," she added.

Huh, I'd have to keep that in mind for later too… Really, having your own personal pocket dimension where you can do almost anything was too overpowered.

I suppose that made Georg Raizen all the more terrifying given the man was able to actually kill Qila in the original timeline, despite the fact she definitely would have dragged him into her own dimension.

I slowly turned my gaze back to her. "So… Do you wanna go cuddle and have dinner?"

Her eyes lit up happily. "Do I ever!"

I felt my heart flutter again and I smiled back at her. It was the simple things in life.
