Chapter 40: Rafisol: Close to a Cold Heart by kirbymanx/huskynator
"NO WAY!"
"WAY~"
"GET REAL!"
"ALREADY REAL~"
"WICKED~" Amitie reacted to Ally. "Let's have playdate!"
"Oh! Wonderful idea. I think I got time to do it today even~" Ally pulled out her phone to check.
"I hope you do! That be so cool!~"
"I got free time!"
"Yay! My house or your house?"
"Your house. I don't think Rafi likes you much." The orange-haired cheerleader put it nicely to the blonde cheerleader.
"Yeah… I think so too." Amitie got out her phone to text her parents as Ally phoned her's.
Little did they know, as these two cheerleaders were talking, someone was watching them from the second floor in the commons room.
It was Ally's twin looking out of the window while Silvana just did her homework and drank some protein. Silv took a look at what her friend was looking at.
'What's there to be leery about? Ally. Amitie…' She knew. "They're just hanging out…"
"…" Rafisol didn't wanna reply.
"She hangs out with Amitie all the time, Raf."
"…"
"Amitie's a good kid."
"…"
Doppel sighed. "You know how Ally is supportive of our friendship?"
"…Yes."
"Shouldn't you be more supportive of your social butterfly of a sister's friendships?"
"No."
"Raf." Silv said is a snappy way. "Ally is your sister, Ammy is my family. You're the Ally here and I'm the Amitie, am I something to be worried about?"
Rafisol hunched over from her friend's harsh words. She slowly sat properly in her seat. The cyanette knew in her heart Silv was correct. But her heart also didn't agree. That makes sense.
The dark redhead softened her tone and scooted a little closer to her friend. Rafisol's face grew a little warm. "You gotta trust your sister, you gotta accept that you and your sister are just different."
Rafisol's eyes averted from Silvana.
"Those who you know now might leave you and-"
"No!" A reactionary shout from Rafisol.
"Uh. Sorry about that." Silvana threw her arm around Rafisol's shoulder to try and calm her down. "Or you might leave them."
She regretted finishing her sentence. She felt Rafisol sinking.
"Sorry… I'm really no different than Arle… I have no tact."
Rafisols mumbled something that is was alright in a positive tone. She subconsciously leaned in closer to Silvana.
"BLAFBLAFBLAF IS MY CRY,
IT'S MY LAUGH!"
Both the girls jumped a little at the cartoon theme song played from Rafisol's pocket. It was her phone. Rafisol pulled it out and put it on speaker.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Rafi~" It was Ally's cheerful voice on the other side. "Amitie and me are having a sudden playdate at her house."
"Oh." Rafisol did a good job hiding her disappointment.
"Wanna join?" Ally offered. The smiley twin knew her sister well, it was a rhetorical question.
"No."
"I always wanna make sure~ I hope you'll be okay. I'll be home late, luv ya~"
"Luv ya too, Ally." Silvana chuckled at her friend's embarrassed repeat of her love-obsessed sibling's closing words. Her face is so stoic usually. "Bye, Ally. Don't be too long."
"Bye, Rafi~ Take care~" Ally figuratively waved off.
As the colder of the Hearthwell twins pressed the end call button Silv quickly said: "Bye, Ammy!" to her cousin presumably still next to Ally.
"Silvie! Is that y-" Beep. Beep.
Silvana laughed. Are you even living if you don't playfully clown on your cousin?
"Can I hang out at your place after school?" Rafisol pleaded in a neutral tone.
"Not unless you wanna hang out at Hilda's place."
"Ah…" 'She's already hanging out with someone...'
"I'm sure Hilda won't mind, Raf." If anything Rafisol is the one who will do the minding.
"It's whatever." 'Pointless to even ask.'
Silvana shrugged it off.
And after a tough last few classes…
Rafisol went home, she waved Ally (and Amitie I guess) away. Ally left her with a hug which Rafisol returned.
Silvana just left her with a text message. It wasn't anything special, but it did make Rafisol smile. It was thoughtful of her.
Her sister and her friend still left her alone though…
It is often said about Ally Hearthwell and her parents that she is BURSTING with love for those around her, heck. Ally was named after her mother, sociability and love for others run in the family. Rafisol hated hearing that… She definitely felt the opposite about herself…
She barely liked anyone. Or anything for that matter.
The lonely twin was on her way to her room to entertain herself.
"Hi, sweetie~" The cuddling Momma & Poppa Hearthwell greeted their daughter from the couch. "Going to your room?"
"Hmmm, yeah…"
"Come to us if you need a hug. Know we always love you." Her father gave her her daily reminder.
"I know…" It was something she always appreciated.
She slowly walked to:
Ally & Rafisol's Room
After she closed the door. The sophomore just plomphed herself onto her mattress face first. She grabbed a few plushies of the Blaffie franchise she's surrounded with and hugged them. There were a lot of huskies and turtles in her grasp. Made her feel less alone.
Rafisol had her fill now. She gave each plushie one last hug and a head rub and put them back.
The girl grabbed her laptop and opened it up from standby mode. She was gonna spend the next hour not doing her homework and instead looking at a wiki of cute friendship doggies, or fanart of cute friendship doggies.
She typed in Versing (everyone's favorite social media platform that's probably only been mentioned when the chapters were in the single digits) in the search engine and saw all of the doggies (and turtles).
If only there was a way to speak with like-minded people on this social media platform…
Rafisol took three deep breaths and tried to engage with fellow fans…
Nope, can't do it. "Pointless. People are jerks anyway." To the girl, it is pointless to even think about, let alone even try. She just watched her favorite content creators instead while grabbing her game Husky Warriors: Definitive Edition to play.
Those who you know now might leave you and-
"No…" Rafisol successfully kept her gut reaction yell down. She didn't want her parents to hear.
Silvana's words dug deep. It's why Rafisol didn't wanna think about it. She has such a small friend pool, and no ability to make new friends… Not that she wanted to… Pointless to try.
She paused the video and her game and put those devices to sleep. A few tears escaped her face.
The girl grabbed two doggies, one that fits in in her arms, and the biggest one she has.
"Ally…" Rafisol wrapped her cute smaller Cupid Armor Blaffie tightly in her arms. Muzzling it with her tears.
"Silvie..." She made her cool life-size God-Slayer Blaffie hug her instead. She tried to muzzle him too.
Pretending those she cares the most about are there for her put her at ease a little. She wouldn't wanna lose them…
"Rafi~ I'm h-" Ally quickly shut herself up upon seeing her favorite sibling sleeping with her doggies. She smiled at the cute sight.
'Is she sleeping in her day clothes again?'
Authors' Notes:
HUSK: Next chapter we're introducing two new characters. I'm only saying this because I wish we could've foreshadowed them. There just wasn't a natural place we could put it.
