(Anne's Pov)
We got everything settled before we see another car swerve up to the front of the school just as we got to the van. Two people step out and I see that it's Alex's Parents.
"What the hell is going on?" His mother asked.
"Uh, big castle, giant newt, bunch of dead newts possessing your son, trying to save the world." Marcy says and I look to her then to Alex's parents.
"WHAT?! AND NO ONE TOLD US?!" His mom yelled and I look to her and glare.
"Of course, you wouldn't know you didn't even write back to me when I wrote to you." I tell her.
"I didn't have time-."
"TEN GOD DAMN YEARS?!... forget it we need to go now, Alex needs our help." I tell them and Marcy nods and I go up to her as did everyone else.
"No, we need to talk about this now." His mom says and I glared at her.
"You didn't care when your son was gone for ten years, you never tried to ask what happened, you don't care about him and you never will." I tell her in a deadly tone.
"I care about my daughter-."
"SON THAT IS YOUR SON WHO IS IN DANGER NOW DROP IT AND IF YOU DON'T HELP US THEN STAY OUT OF IT!" Marcy yelled at Alex's mother. Marcy gets out of the van and gets in her face.
"HE needs our help and HE will get our help, whether you like it or not HE is your SON." She says emphasizing on Alex's pronouns and I nod in agreement.
"How can I help?" Alex's dad asked and I nod as we let him in the van and leave his ex to herself.
"Look maybe if he thinks you're willing to help maybe it can knock some sense into him." Mr. X explained and I look to them.
"What all has happened to him?" His dad asked as he looked to me.
"He's a bit different than what you last remember, he's got a beard now." I say with a smile a bit and look to his dad.
"He's also been working with me on my army, has some trust issues, doesn't like it when people talk about his scars and such, also he doesn't like it when people don't try and work together, which would be new to you but we've gotten use to it." Grimes mentioned and I nod.
"He works with people?" His dad asked.
"Kind of, he still wants to try and work on his own… he's gotten to the point where he thinks he shouldn't ask for help." I explained.
"He's trying though." Grimes mentions and I nod.
"Yea, he is trying, oh and he's learned a new language and is basically a huge nerd." I joke and his dad laughed a bit at this.
"He was always so smart, he kept it hidden… he was trying to get our attention… or so my therapist theorized." He explained and he looked down.
"He still looked up to you… he just thinks you… it's best for him to explain." I tell him and he nods. We get to the middle of the town and saw all the buildings being destroyed by the giant Herons and then we look to the castle.
"Ok, Yunan, Marcy, Olivia, you all head up to the castle with Anne, Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy you will help us distract the herons with Grime and me." Mr. X explained and we all nod at this. The planters were to help my parents and Mr. X along with Mr. Waybright who they were going to have to help anyway. We all head out the van and Marcy and I run up to the castle with the others, just as we get close to the castle a heron gets in our way and Grime comes up and hits it with his hammer.
"Thanks Grime." Marcy says and I nod as we hurry up to the castle and I look around.
"How are we going to get up there?" Yunan asked and I look to Marcy and I closed my eyes a bit. it took a short bit but I was able to use my powers and I looked to Marcy who did the same. We grabbed Yunan and Olivia and shot up to the castle and we hurried inside and looked around a bit. it was dark and danky, wires were all over the place and some flashes of red and green were going around in slow motion.
"Well if it isn't Heart and Wit." We hear and I turn quickly only to be punched by someone and I turn quickly to see Alex as he grabbed Yunan by the throat. Marcy and Olivia tried to get Yunan and Alex laughed as a deep voice came from him.
"Your friends are more worried about this Newt than you hu?" We hear and I get up quickly and hit Alex square in the jaw making him let go of Yunan and he grabbed his jaw and smirked at me.
"Seem he failed to get rid of your powers." He says as he turns red as well and I look at him.
"Well if you can't get anyone else to do the job right might as well do it yourself." He says as we start fighting. I was able to dodge some of his attacks but he was able to get a few good hits to my face. It hurt like hell and all he could do was laugh at this.
"Seems I picked the best one of the three." He says and as he comes at me again, I blocked the attack and he gets into my face and I glare at him.
"Alex." I say and he smirked and shoved me back a few feet. A flash of green came past me and I see as Marcy distracted Alex and I hurry up and hit him hard enough to throw him out the castle and he smirked as I see a giant Mecha behind him.
"ANDRIAS! You know what to do." I hear and the Mecha suit lifted it's hand up and blasted on of the may buildings in the city.
"Anne, I have Alex, you take care of Andria's." Marcy says and I nod as I go after Andrias, but I hear a laugh.
"You can't defeat it… you'll lose." Alex says and I glared at him then went after Andrias. I was able to grab the Mecha's tail and throw it to the side.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT US?!" Andria's yells as he fixes himself and I glare at him.
"Yea I think we can." I say and I rush up to him to land a hid but he was able to grab me and throw me into one of the major big buildings. I went through that building and three more before I landed on a helicopter pad and I get up just a bit as Andrias came up to me and I glare at him.
"Why try and stop us? There is no point, Alex isn't even trying to save himself anymore." He tells me and I gripped the ground breaking the concreate.
"SHUT UP!" I yelled as I tried to go after him again. I was able to hit his outstretched hand but it didn't do anything.
"ANDRIAS STOP!" We hear and I look to see Alex holding Marcy who was struggling to get out of his grip. He comes up to us and throws Marcy at me and then puts his hands behind his back and smirked at us.
"W-What why?" Andrias asked.
"Are you questioning me?" Alex asked as he looked up to him.
"No, I'm just… wondering." He says to Alex and he looked to us as did Alex.
"No reason, other than this is boring… Heart and Wit, can't defeat us, I mean I was easily able to grab Wit." He says as he comes up to us and looks at us with the many eyes on the helmet.
"There is no point Heart, just let us conquer this world, not like it's done you any good." He says.
"That's a lie-."
"A lie? It seems to Alex that none of this matters, this world casted him aside, no one tried to help him when he tried to do this peacefully, they blasted their tanks at us, tried to kill him in the process, he's still in denial as well, that this world won't help him, I mean he had been gone for ten years." He says and crouches down to our eye level.
"This world would rather cast him aside and treat him like garbage when all we have done was embrace him for who he is, strong, smart, passionate, heck even kind to those who backstabbed him." He says and then laughed.
"You're going to backstab him in the end." Marcy says and they laughed again.
"Oh Wit, dumb in your own way, sees how much you know." They say as they stand up and look to Andrias.
"Keep destroying the town until they surrender, do not hold back." He tells the giant lizard and I look to Andrias then back to Alex who gave me a side glance.
"Alex, listen I know you can hear us." I say as I get up.
"Sorry but Alex has locked himself away-."
"LIAR, YOU LOCKED HIM AWAY!" Marcy yelled and Alex turned to look at us.
"He has kept himself locked away for a reason Wit." He tells her and I look at Marcy than Alex.
"He wouldn't, he'd listen to us." I say and he laughed.
"Try as you might but he doesn't want to speak to anyone." He says.
"ALEX!" We hear and I look to the ground to see that the Herons were defeated and it was Alex's dad.
"Hmm, who is this?" Alex asked as he looked to his father.
"ALEX!" Mr. Waybright yelled again and Alex smirked at this as he looked to us then activated Alex's powers and blasted down to the man. Marcy and I hurried and followed him and knocked him back away from everyone. He stumbled a bit but then stood tall as he looked to Mr. Waybright and smirked.
"Ah you must be the boys father?" He asked the man.
"Alex… what happened?" He asked as he tried to get past Marcy and I but we stopped him.
"That's not Alex." Marcy tells him.
"That is him, how is that not-." He was interrupted by Alex laughing and I look to him.
"Oh my, the things Alex wants to say to you." The core says and I look to him.
"How he felt like crap when you didn't defend him from his own mother, how he felt like you were faking the whole supporting him, but that doesn't matter now." They say and he looked to us. I look up to see Andria's destroying more buildings and I glared at the monster that took over my friend as they grin at us.
"I will say one thing, he only felt happy when talking to you and Marcy." They say and I go to throw a punch at him but he was able to grab my fist. His own hand flaming red with my blue making it purple and he smirks at me.
"Let him go or I swear-."
"Swear all you want Heart but It's been so long since we had a body, and we're enjoying that far to much, don't worry you can have Alex back… once his purpose is up." They say and blast me backwards into Marcy making us fall back and they go up back to the castle.
"We have to-."
"Wait." I hear and I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look to see Mr. Waybright looking at me.
"We don't have time-."
"I know, I know but we have to figure this out with clear heads." He says.
"MY HEAD IS CLEAR!" I yelled at him and he looked at me.
"Look I get it, he's your friend-."
"He's more than a friend… Marcy we need to get up there now." I say and she stopped me as another building is destroyed and I look to see Andrias.
"I'm done trying, we need to kick their asses now, look at what they are doing." I tell them.
"Yunan and Olivia are out of the castle right now it's not safe." Marcy says then looks to the side and so do I as I see them come up to us.
"They tried to take my head off." Yunana says as she looked to Olivia who nods.
"We can't get to him." Olivia states.
"We have to try something, anything at this point, I'll take it." I say as I look to the castle.
"Look, I can try to get through Andrias, Anne you need to try and get to Alex, I can't." Marcy says and I look to her and nod. We hurry up and Marcy goes to Andrias and I head to the castle, the door to the castle was locked and I punch it as hard as I can but it barley makes a dent. I get angrier and angrier as I keep punching the door and it breaks a bit before it was opened. I look to see Alex looking at me. No helmet on, but he's still smirking at me as I come up to him.
"Alex?" I asked as I come closer to him.
"Hello, Anne." He says and I see a flash of red in his eyes and I back up a bit.
"The core?" I asked and they nod a bit then shook their head a bit.
"A mix between both but I think we can work with this, trust us when we say that Alex still doesn't want to come out of his little corner in his mind." They say and I watch him as he paces a bit at this.
"He doesn't want this, you're manipulating him." I say to the core.
"Just think of it this way, He felt like he couldn't do anything right, he even feels like he can't do right for you and Marcy… maybe because he knows he can't stop us." They say and they chuckled at this.
"He's given up… and you should take his advice." The say as they grip my chin and I back up a bit.
"You can't hurt him, just like he couldn't do to Marcy, weakness in all of you, but I can break that." They say.
"Why the hell, would you do this? There is no point in trying to take over this world or any world for that matter." I tell them.
"There is always a point in conquering any world, to build up, to rule more than one land, you think we were born in Amphibia originally?" They laughed and I glare at them.
"No, we were from many different worlds, we took over Amphibia just like any other world and we will continue to do so because we can, this world will make a great investment." They say as they walked around me and I turn to never have my back to them.
"Investment? This isn't a business, you're hurting billions of people, you're hurting your own son for frogs sake." I tell them.
"Ah yes, Andrias, a weak man since he made friends with that frog and toad, never could forget them, even after they betrayed him, the kingdom, our vision." They say to me and I glare at them.
"He had friends at least; they must have seen something wrong."
"Hmm, yes indeed they did, the little pink one did think that what we were doing was bad for many, that's why they took the box and came to this world, broke Andrias easily thinking his friends were betraying him, casted out his toad friend, who died because of Andrias." They tell me and they tried to grab me but I dodged his hand and backed away from him.
"The frog did come back though, started her own family but she had left the box here, for three idiotic teenage girls to find and steal from a thrift shop, Marcy knew about it and basically tricked you into using it, just so she could have grand adventures with her friends, who didn't care to listen to her, Alex having been stuck there for ten years never wanting to leave because this world could never help him, not even you." They tell me as their eyes go red and they come at me but I was able to grab their arm and throw them into a wall and they look at me from the giant imprint in the wall. They laughed as they pull themselves away from the wall and I hold my hands up getting ready to block anything.
"Seems like you don't care for him." They say.
"I DO CARE ABOUT HIM, YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT YOURSELF!" I yelled as they come at me. they were able to get a few swings in but I was able to block most of the blows before they were able to grab me by my neck.
"I care for my people, why do you think we always had to leave our homes, people didn't want to listen to us so we had to make them." They say as they gripped harder and I grabbed their arm trying to burn them.
"They didn't want to listen so why should we? Why should we try to make things better for people who don't care about what we have to say." They say and I coughed a bit from the pressure.
"You're mad because no one wanted to listen to you? It's childish on so many levels." I say and they throw me into the wall and they come up to me and I pushed back from the wall and punched them in the face. I watched as they moved their hands from their face to show a slight burn mark and they smirk at me.
"No pain no gain." They say as they throw a punch at me and I blocked my face but then I get a swift punch in the gut but I look up before they were able to hit me again. I grabbed their arm and twisted it and they laugh.
"You can hurt him so easily." They say.
"Shut up, I don't like this at all." I say and they laughed as I pulled their arm more.
"Sure, you don't, you want to tell me that you never wanted to hurt him? After all the things he's done to you, the times he's manipulated you, hurt you mentally, you're telling me he doesn't deserve anything that's happening to him?" They laughed as they got out of my grip.
"He doesn't he's… he's trying to be different." I tell them.
"REALLY NOW?!" They yelled as they came at me.
"How has he tried to change? You haven't talked to him in ten years, just because he acted that way to you just so he could date you?" They laughed and I watched as they paced around me.
"You really want to believe that he's changed but in reality, he's still manipulating you, he probably would have done the same if he tried to date Marcy, he knows she would do it easily just to be around him, he just thinks you're easy." They say.
"SHUT UP!" I yell as I take another swing at them and they grabbed my wrist as pulled me face to face.
"Alex, I know you're there, please listen to me." I say and they smirked at me but I see a slight flash in their eyes.
"Oh, how the mighty have fallen." They say as they tighten their grip on my wrist. It felt like it was about to break but I couldn't scream.
"You need to listen to me Alex, you have to fight this, your dad is worried, Marcy is worried, my own parents are worried about you Alex, we all are worried about you." I tell him but nothing happened and feel the grip tighten.
"For frogs sake Alex please, you have to snap out of it." I begged.
"He doesn't care, if he did, he would try to fight us." They tell us and they end up breaking my wrist and they let go as I gripped it in pain.
"D-damn it." I mutter and looked to him.
"He doesn't care, if he did, he wouldn't have let me break your wrist, HE DOESN'T CARE!" They yelled out and I glared at them as I got up.
"Haven't you thought about it, I mean really thought about it, why hasn't he come out to try and stop us? Why did he let us break your wrist? Why doesn't he try to stop us from destroying this whole world?" They asked and I look down to the ground.
"You… it's all your fault." I say as I look at them. They grabbed me again and threw me into the door making an indent they came up to me and put their hand to my neck and coming up to my face.
"It's not my fault he doesn't want to try and help anyone anymore, he's told me that he's tired of everyone asking for him to help them, he was just a kid when he took such a large responsibility." They say.
"And you think I haven't? I had tried to get back to them, it took years, I had to help the planters-."
"But what has he done compared to you? He's had to deal with the Toad, Newts, and Frogs arguing over mundane things, he's had to try and keep the peace, he's tried and failed so many times to save Marcy… especially after I've sliced his back." They say and smirked at the mention of hurting Alex. I punched them in the face and they smirked at me as they cracked their neck and pulled me back and slammed me back into the door.
"You're losing it…. This is fantastic." They say and I tried to punch them again but they grabbed my hand and keep their eyes on me.
"You know this is his body? This form that you're hitting… he's going to feel it, he is feeling it right now." They mocked and I tried to hit them again.
"He's wondering why you're hitting him, you're hurting him." They laughed and I tried to punch them again but I couldn't do it. I was hurting Alex's body, I was hurting him, but he would understand, he doesn't want this thing to hurt others.
"You're probably thinking, he's fine with you hurting him, but are you sure?" They asked.
"If it's to help others-."
"But hurting him? Even killing him?" They asked and laughed as they push me more into door.
"I wouldn't-."
"Oh, you wouldn't? I think that would be you're only option at this point, I no longer need the helmet to keep him in line, didn't you think?" They asked and I get angry before the one side of the castle is blown and they turn to see Marcy.
"ANNE! ALEX!" Marcy yelled as she hurries over to us but the Core ends up letting me go and blasting Marcy into the other side of the wall and they look to me.
"You can't stop us, you never could, you never will, and Alex is ok with this." They laughed.
"NO, HE ISN'T YOU'RE EVIL!" Marcy yelled.
"SILENCE!" They yelled at her and they go over to a computer and press a few buttons.
"I'll give you this Heart and Wit, you can try all you want, but now that I have full control of his body and even his mind, there is no point, he's said it himself, he's tired, let him rest." They tell us as I go over to Marcy and they look to us and smirk.
"Alex." Marcy says quietly and I look to her sadly then to the core.
"You've lost just admit it." They tell us.
"We didn't lose." Marcy says quietly and looks to me and I shake my head and look back to the core as a blast came from the castle itself.
"CEASE FIRE!" We hear and look to the screen as we see the destruction of the city, the video feed had come to show the tanks and military as they lowered their weapons and I look to see the Core smiling.
"It's easier to give up when you know you'll lose." They say.
"You'll lose one day." I tell them and they laughed.
"You may think that, and maybe you're right, one day we could lose, but we will be known throughout history for eons to come." They say and pressed a button.
"I'm going to assume you have finally decided to surrender, lucky for you we're not complete assholes." They say to the people. They gave up, Did Alex really give up so easily? Was he really that tired?
"ALEX I'M SORRY!" Mary yelled and they core looked to us.
"I'm sorry for not trying to get out of the Cores grasps for years, I was a stupid kid trying to be happy by having adventures with my best friends, I over reacted when my parents told me we were going to move I just wanted to stay with you and Anne, I… I wouldn't have been able to make friends like you guys, and I'm so sorry." Marcy says but the core looked unfazed at this.
"I'm so sorry that I basically forced you to grow up to fast, I'm sorry it's my fault that you had to take on responsibilities that you never should have, I'm sorry that I caused all of this." Marcy says and I look down a bit.
"I'm sorry for not listening to you Alex." I say and look up to see a confused look on the cores face.
"I left for ten years, yes I did try to get back to you and Marcy, but I didn't try hard enough, there were times where I didn't want to get back to you because I was mad at you still… after toad tower, after you tried to take over Newtopia, even though you and Grimes told us about the kings plans we should have listened to you but it… it was hard." I say to them and the video feed cut off and they walk up to us.
"So, you admit your mistakes?" They asked.
"Everyone makes mistakes, we were kids, and even as adults we will still make mistakes." Marcy says.
"Not me." They state.
"Look at what you've done to Andrias, he's modified himself to be a giant robot because of you." Marcy says and I look to her then to the Core.
"He needed to atone for his mistake of doubting us, he did it to himself, how else do you think he lived well over a thousand years? He did it to himself." They tell us.
"He did it to try and make you proud Aldrich." Marcy says and they laughed.
"After letting his so call friend betraying him, he would never make me proud, he was weak with his emotions, JUST LIKE HE IS NOW!" They yelled out as they got in our face and I look at them.
"That's what you're afraid of? Showing emotions? Having emotions?" I asked.
"Emotions? Ah yes, they make you weak, just like they did to your friend." They laughed.
"He isn't weak it's what makes you a person." Marcy says.
"Well, we aren't a person, or people, we're just a hivemind of the dead, but regardless we got what we wanted." They say and walk back to the computer.
"WAIT!" Marcy yells and they look to her.
"Does Wit have something to say?" They asked.
"W-What if I let you take me over again?" She asked.
"Marcy-."
"Hush." The Core says and I look to them.
"I'll let you take my body over if you let Alex go." Marcy says to them.
"Interesting… but no deal, you're smart yes but Alex here, well he knows how it feels to be in battle, he's felt pain and has kept everything to himself, he's smart in his own way, and sadly even if half of us agreed to want to be transferred back to you, the other half doesn't want to." They explained as they come up to us and in our faces.
"Plus we like to see his little girlfriend have emotional damage from having to possible kill her boyfriend." They say and smirk. I was angry at this, they think this is all a game, that we were just play things in their mind.
"Besides even if we wanted to, we can't, see Alex has allowed us to take him over physically-."
"THAT'S A LIE HE WOULDN'T-."
"Oh but he would, you don't seem to know him well enough, then again, you did slice his back." They tell us.
"I didn't." Marcy says and I see tears in her eyes.
"Cry and lie to yourself all you want, you wanted to hurt him, everyone does, even now." They say and back away from us and I look around for anything to stop all this, to get Alex back some way, somehow.
"You should know this is the end." They tell us as they go over to the computer again and the screen pops up showing Andrias. Who was broken and beaten, you could see the wires and robotic parts in almost every part of his body except his face.
"Andrias, you seem to have failed me." The Core says and the giant lizard looks up.
"Again… this is why you're no longer needed." They say and press a button electrocuting Andrias.
"STOP!" Marcy yelled.
"And why should I? this is so much fun." The Core says and I look to the screen.
"HE'S KEPT YOU ALIVE FOR SO LONG, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!" Marcy yelled and I held her back.
"He has failed me twice, he has failed us in the thousand years he's been around, he has failed that's all he is." They say and I look to see some tears in Alex's eyes.
"HE'S DONE EVERYTHING TO HELP YOU AND YOU TREAT HIM LIKE SHIT!" Marcy yelled as I keep her back.
"He deserves it, he deserves all of it." The core says and I look to the ground a bit as we hear Andrias yelling.
"ALEX YOU DIDN'T FAIL ANY OF US!" I yelled and I can feel Marcy looking at me.
"You made mistakes as a kid, a fucking kid, your parents were going through a divorce when you were younger and I know you blamed yourself but it wasn't your fault, yea you were manipulative but you wanted to feel some type of control in your life but you fixed that, you helped so many people in Amphibia, you worked and worked and I've seen it, and you have done so much." I tell them.
"SHUT UP!" The Core yelled.
"YOU DIDN'T FAIL ANYONE, AND YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS!" I yelled as I feel tears go down my own face.
"I SAID SHUT UP!" The Core yelled as they pressed a button on the computer making a laser pointing at us.
"ALEX YOU'RE NOT ALONE!" Marcy yelled and I look to the core. Their hand seems to struggle a bit when trying to press the button.
"Alex." Marcy says and the Core shook their head a bit and grabbed it.
"SHUT UP!" They yelled as they pressed a button on the keyboard but instead of using the laser they opened the door and I look to see that Alex was looking at us, not the core but Alex.
"Get out now." They tells us.
"Alex wait-."
"GET OUT!" They yelled at us and I look to Marcy who looked to me.
"Fucking idiots." They say as they come up to us.
"Get out…. End, it." They say and I nod as we hurry on out of the castle. Marcy hurries over to help Andrias and I just look to the castle worried and mad. I look over to Andrias who was no longer yelling and I go up to him.
"How do we stop the Core?" I asked getting pissed.
"There is no-."
"THERE IS A WAY AND YOU KNOW IT!" I yelled as I was about to punch him but Marcy stopped him.
"DON'T TRY AND SAVE HIM, THIS IS ALL HIS FAULT, HE'S THE REASON YOU AND ALEX WERE AND ARE IN PAIN!" I yelled at her.
"He's in pain too." Marcy says and the castle starts to move.
"No, no, no." I say as I tried to go after it but I was stopped.
"We can't do anything right now." Marcy says and I look to her. She was worried and I could see it.
"We can, he was there, he let us…." I stopped and looked to the castle again.
"We have to make a new plan, we at least know we can get to him." Marcy says and I look down and then I look up and glare at Andrias.
"If he doesn't help us fix this, he's going to wish he was never born." I tell her and she nods as we watch the Castle leave and we help Andrias to the school where we meet Mr. X and the others.
"We have the Herons back at the hideout." He tells us and I nod and deactivate my powers and take a breath.
"Where is Alex?" I hear and look to Mr. Waybright.
"We will get him back, and Andrias is going to help us." I say as I look to the lizard and he looked to the side.
"How, does he know?" Mr. Waybright asked and I watch as Andrias looked to the man.
"You must be the boys father." Andrias says.
"What did you do to my son?" He asked.
"I didn't-."
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SON?!" Mr. Waybright yells at him and both Marcy and I had to keep him back from Andrias.
"The Core selected him." Andrias tells him.
"CORE?! THE FUCK IS THAT?!" He yelled.
"Look we can explain it later but right now we need a new plan before the core decides to head to another dimension, if that happens, we will never see Alex again." Marcy says and Mr. Waybright stops trying to go after Andrias and I look to my parents and look to the side.
"We were able to get to Alex for a bit, he let us escape but we don't know what to do." I tell everyone.
"He might have had something in his book." Sprig says and I look at him.
"I know I might be the bad guy here but… he took a lot of notes and I just thought he might have had something." Sprig says as he hands us a few of Alex's journal and I grabbed them gently and look to Sprig.
"No this is good, this might help." Marcy says and I hand her a book and we read what we could as we got ready to head to the hideout.
"I remember Alex saying something about his temple-."
"It was destroyed though." Grimes mentioned and I nod.
"Yea, but maybe… there could be something." I say and groaned a bit. when we all get to the hideout, we get Andrias inside and we see the Herons as they were knocked out and I take a breath as I keep reading.
"Do you think he would have actually written anything down that could help us?" HopPop asked and I nod.
"He wrote pretty much everything down, remember when we were in the Olms cave?" I asked and he nods.
"That's true, but anything regarding the core?" He asked and I look through the book.
"The Mother Olm had said that the prophecy had changed, he wrote everything he could down about anything." I say and keep reading. Seeing some drawings from the cave in the book and reading what I could.
"Hey, look." Marcy says as she showed me the book and I read the page.
"He wrote down something but it doesn't look right." I say as I tried to read it.
"That's because it's a cypher." Marcy says as she grabbed an empty page and started to write it.
"A what?" Yunan asked.
"A cypher, it's to encrypt a message so no one can understand what the original message is unless they actually know what they're looking for." Marcy explained. I look to Mr. Waybright as he comes over to us and looks to the book a bit.
"Do you know how he encrypted it?" Oliva asked.
"I… I'm not sure, I could try all of it but it looks like a mix between two different cyphers." Marcy explained as she tried to get the message.
"Oh, he use to do this when he was younger." Mr. Waybright says as he takes a seat next to Marcy and grabs an empty sheet of paper and started to make a grid.
"How-."
"When he was younger, he would do this out of habit when he wanted to write negative thoughts, when I asked him to tell me about it, he didn't say anything at first but that was because his mother was nearby." He tells us as he takes some of the symbols and works with the grid and we watch.
"I have no idea what this says but I think I got it." He says as he finished it and handed it to Marcy, who read it.
"When did he write this?" Marcy asked as she looked to the paper.
"What does it say?" I asked.
"The Core, The Moon, Destroy The Moon, Amphibia." Marcy reads and I look to her then to Andrias.
"What's with the moon?" I asked him.
"…." He stays silent on this and it makes me angry, I wanted to punch the dumb lizard in his face.
"Andrias, if you want to do at least one good thing, then tell us what is with the moon." Marcy says and he looked to her then to the ground.
"It's… The moon is basically the final gambit for the core, they… we build the moon to basically be a giant machine and if we failed our mission then the core could use the moon to ram into Amphibia." He tells her.
"Wait hold on." Mr. Waybright says as he looked to the blue lizard.
"Your people created an artificial moon to ram into your home world if it loses? It's a sore loser at this point." He says and Andrias shrugged.
"More or less." Andrias says to him.
"This isn't something to take lightly, my son is in danger because of you." Mr. Waybright says and I look to Andrias.
"It's more complex than that-."
"The core can't use the moon though." I inturupt.
"What? Of course, it can." Andrias says.
"No it can't, the… the Core isn't a helmet anymore it's actually inside of Alex, he didn't have the helmet on at all, his eyes were like the Cores, red, how can it use the moon when it's in a physical body?" Marcy asked him.
"It's actually did it." He says.
"Did what?" I hear my mom asked pissed and I look to her.
"I… it… they have tried to take over Marcy physically but they couldn't I don't know how they weren't but… Alex… I don't know how it was able to do it." He says.
"You're a liar." Mr. Wu says and I look to him.
"That thing, is hurting our girls friend and you don't seem to give a damn about him, you want us to pity you? There is no way in hell we will." My dad says and I was a bit shocked at his language, he was a mostly laid-back kind of guy.
"I am being serious about this, the only way the core would have been able to do that is if he allowed them to do it, that is all I know." Andrias says.
"He wouldn't, The Core-."
"The Core is able to go into deep parts of the mind, must have found something that was able to keep Alex from trying to fight it, or he truly wanted this." Andrias says.
"I'll believe the first option." I mutter an we look to the TV as it showed the news of the castle's movement. They are trying to keep it in our area. I look over to everyone as we kept silent and they also looked to the TV.
"We don't have enough time to figure out a plan, we need to get them back to Amphibia." Grimes says and we look to him.
"We'd rather them be in our world then to destroy other worlds." HopPop says and I take a breath.
"How are we going to do that though?" I hear Marcy asked.
"Well they want to rule worlds but since there isn't anyone really there to… 'Rule' per-say maybe we can tell them there is a flaw in their… take over?" I asked.
"It could work, but I doubt it." Andrias says and I glare at him.
"Ok, you've been with this thing for a thousand years, what would your plan be?" I asked him and he looked to me.
"I think your plan would work, but we all know The Core would think this plan is a trap." He tells us.
"But Alex, would probably talk to The Core about how we're right." Marcy says and I nod at this.
"Do as you must." He says and I look to Marcy who nods and Polly and the others work on getting everyone through the portal and we were about to leave but were stopped and I turn to see my parents and Marcy's parents as well.
"Stay safe you two." My dad says.
"Please… save Alex." I hear and we look to see Mr. Waybright and we nod.
"We will, don't worry Mr. Waybright." Marcy tells him and he nods.
"Alright, let's do this… no big deal right?" I asked as we head on out.
