(Alex's Pov)
I felt nothing at this point, there was nothing for me here or there. There was nothing, there is nothing, I am nothing, and that's the way everything will be throughout my life. Anne, Marcy and everyone else will figure out how to defeat this thing without me. and that's ok, I'm ok with this. Everything will be fine.
"ALEX, YOU DIDN'T FAIL ANY OF US!" I hear someone yell.
"Who is that?" I asked out loud and looked around the dark room myself.
"ALEX YOU'RE NOT ALONE!" I hear again and I feel my hands shaking and I can see something in my vision as I move it away from the computer. I tried and tried my best to take control of any part of my body and I was able to get some form of control and I look to see Anne and Marcy.
"Get out now." I tell them but they don't move at all.
"Alex wait-."
"GET OUT!" I yelled at them and Anne looked to Marcy.
"Fucking idiots." I say as I go over to them. I was quick to think on what to tell Anne before they do go. Do I tell her that I love her? What do I say?
"Get out…. End it." I tell them and Anne nods in a hurry out of the castle. I slammed the door shut before I felt the pain in my head and I gripped it.
"You fool, you let them get away we had them beat." The Core says and I gripped my head at this.
"Shut up you fucking moron." I say as I head over to the computers and looked around the maps.
"I am no moron-."
"You are, you don't know what their parents will feel if they lose their families, my family doesn't care, they don't give a damn about me, I'm not important but they are, besides we don't know what will happen if they die with their powers, you want to fucking risk losing that power because your ego is at stake?" I asked pissed and gripped the side of my head in pain and looked back to the maps.
"What are you doing?" They asked.
"You want to rule this world, you only took over a fucking state." I mutter and feel the pain in my head.
"Shut it you fool." They say and I roll my good eye. I feel the pain as it gets worse and worse.
"They left you so easily, they don't care for you." They tell me.
"Shut up, they care they listened to me." I tell them as I get angry.
"Shut up you fucking-."
"I'M FUCKING HELPING YOU WHEN I SHOULDN'T SO FUCK OFF YOU IGNORANT BRAT!" I yelled and I feel the pain as it got worse and I gripped my head in pain.
"Shut up you brat." They say and darkness comes and I look around. I'm alone again, no one around, no one will be around but as I said I was ok with this… right?
"You think they care but they don't they just ran away…. Heheh they even brought Andrias with them." The core says and I look up to see King Aldrich as he glares at me and I glare back.
"You let them get away, you let them trick you-."
"Are you sure I didn't trick them?" I asked.
"How-."
"Think about it… they left us, they won't bother us for some time, it'll give us enough time to take over this world." I tell him.
"Hmm… seems we have miss judged you." They tell me and I nod at this.
"You always do." I mutter and I see some visions of the world now.
"Time is a bit warped here; you've been out for three weeks already." They tell me and I look around.
"We're still in California." I mentioned.
"It seems this worlds military is a bit more keen on keeping us here." He says and I look around more.
"Anne and Marcy haven't come for you once." He says. As if it would faze me in any way. I will be honest it did but I couldn't show it to anyone.
"They left you but kept my son with them." They say as they place their hand on my shoulder and I look at the visions in front of me.
"They would rather leave you and keep my son, who helped cause all of this to happen, to cause you to be in all this pain, to have caused Marcy all that pain as well." They say and I keep my eye to the visions. There was so much going on, though the time that was told to me seems to have also sped up because it looks like another week had passed in the blink of an eye.
"See… they didn't come." He says and I look down a bit.
"But it's ok… we're here." I hear multiple voices say to me.
"ALEX!" I hear and look around quickly.
"ALEX!" I hear again.
"Anne? Marcy?" I asked as I looked around.
"Hahah you still care for them?" The old king asked.
"I swear I heard-."
"It's one of the many newts pulling a fast one on you." He says.
"That's cruel." I state.
"More like they are testing you." He says.
"Testing?" I asked.
"Of course, you're going to be taking over this world and many others with us, we need to make sure you're not going to be emotional when you rule, you wanted to take over Amphibia, and I must say you did a great job with your take over, well planned and your manipulation skills."
"I'm not like that anymore." I tell him.
"But you are a great strategic, you know what you are doing." They tell me and I take a few breaths and kept looking at the visions for anything…. For Anne and Marcy.
"ALEX!" I hear and gripped my head and I feel the hand be removed from my shoulder.
"ALEX, CAN YOU HEAR US?!" I hear and gripped my head more and I opened my eyes to see Anne right in front of me. her hands on both my shoulders and I take some breaths and look around. This has to be fake, it's not this easy it's fake so I back up but she keeps me in place and I look to her.
"Alex listen to us, we need to get back to Amphibia." I hear and look to see Marcy. And I shake my head.
"This isn't real." I mutter.
"What?"
"This isn't real, this isn't real, none of this can be real." I say as I moved away from Anne and stand up.
"No wait listen Alex." Marcy says and I feel her put her hands on me and I look at her.
"We don't know how much time we have and you have to try and keep this away from the core, but we're going back to Amphibia, we have to go back." She tells me and I shake my head quickly.
"People will… people will die-."
"Alex listen to us, The core can't rule Amphibia and this world either, they are only one thing… an-an-and we have a plan but we need you to help us." Anne says panicked and I look around a bit and I think but nod.
"O-ok yea I can… I can try." I say and look to both of them.
"Just try to get them to Amphibia, we will be there, ok?" Anne tells me and I nod a little at this.
"Y-yea I can… I can try I don't know-."
"All three of us know you can… you're Alex Waybright." Marcy says and I nod a bit and take a few breaths. I felt like crying.
"Why him?" I asked.
"What?" Marcy asked.
"Why… Andrias?" I asked as I looked to them.
"We needed information, trust me, I didn't want to bring him after all he's done." Anne says.
"But I didn't see you guys at all… you two didn't come to help me." I tell them.
"Alex this is why we needed you to bring the Core back to Amphibia, they can't see us, they would have done anything to get us, and we had to make plans to make sure this works." Marcy says and I look at her and I look down a bit at this.
"Alex, please… please listen to us, we need you to do this, it's all we got going for us right now, and we need this to work." Anne begged and I look to her and I take a breath.
"I will try… I will." I tell them.
"We will meet you in Amphibia." She tells me and I nod at this. They end up leaving again and I don't know why but I felt hurt, I shouldn't feel hurt about this, there is no point in feeling this way.
"Why are you feeling like this?" I hear and look down.
"I just… realized that no one cares… not people here… no one in Amphibia." I mentioned and I look to the old king.
"Why are you thinking about that place?" They asked and I shrugged a bit at this.
"Guess after being there for ten years I got use to everyone there… but not even Grimes cares." I tell them.
"Hmm, would you like for them to suffer?" They asked. I look to the old king.
"Suffer?" I asked.
"Of course, make them pay for not helping you when you clearly needed it most." They say and I look to the ground a bit then to the king.
"How would we make them suffer?" I asked and they smiled.
"I think we have a few plans… what do you say?" They asked.
"When?" I asked.
"Today, right now." They say and I look at them.
"Right now?" I asked and they nod to me.
"Of course… what do you say?" They asked and I think.
"Why not a week from now?" I asked.
"I'd think you'd want to make them suffer as soon as possible." He says and I think a bit.
"I do but…what about this world?" I asked and they think.
"Hmm, that is true… but knowing you we can take over this world once we've taken care of your problems back in Amphibia." He tells me and nod.
"Fair… I could get more work done." I say and place my hands on my hips.
"That's the spirit." He says and I nod.
"Alright, let's do it." I say and head over to the computer and I think as I type in the coordinates and we wait a bit. But nothing happened.
"What's going on?" I asked as I looked to the keypad.
"Must be Heart and Wit." I hear and look to the old king.
"The box is fully juiced up I made sure-."
"They still have their powers." He says.
"But not all of it." I tell him.
"Must be enough, to keep us from going back." He says and I look to the music box and I look for anything and everything.
"No, we were able to get here…" I say and trail off and smiled as I put in the coordinates in again and the portal opens.
"Got it." I say and look to the king.
"Interesting." They say and I look to them.
"Good?" I asked and they nod.
"How?" The king asked.
"I… I was able to tap into their powers." I mutter and I look to the king.
"Very interesting." They say and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"This is fantastic, how you're able to do that?" They say and I nod.
"I found out I can tap into their powers with the gems as long as we have the box, when I sent them through, I put a few… codes I guess that gave me the ability to do that… I can even stop them from coming to Amphibia." I tell him. Though that wasn't a complete lie I could do that but I needed to follow with the plan.
"Do that." They say and I nod as I punch in a few codes. It wasn't long till the castle was back in Amphibia I take a breath as I was able to see Amphibia again with my own eyes, or well eye. It had gotten better from all the damage that was once caused by this castle, by the Core, by Andrias. I hope Anne and Marcy come and get this thing out of my head.
"Hmm, seems so clean." The old king says.
"I mean… we haven't… we haven't been here for so long." I tell them.
"Fair enough… anyway think about it… this can be all yours, like you wanted." They tell me and I look down at the ground a bit.
"Are you not happy with that?" They ask.
"I am I just… how can I… I don't think I would be a good-."
"Leader? I'd say it's not a problem at all." They say and I felt like shit, what am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to fix all of this, how am I supposed to do anything when all I get is in trouble. There was a blast on the side of the castle and grabbed the computer to hold on and I look around a bit.
"The hell?" I hear and I look around. I feel a pounding in my head and I grabbed it.
"YOU LIED TO US!" I hear and I shake my head.
"I-I didn't, how?" I asked and looked around as my vision would go in and out.
"YOU LET THEM COME, YOU DIDN'T PUT IN THE RIGHT CODE ON THE BOX YOU THINK WE ARE IDIOTS?!" They yelled and I look to see the old king with many more eyes that were red with anger.
"THEY DON'T CARE FOR YOU, NO ONE CARED FOR YOU BUT WE WERE WILLING TO GIVE YOU WORLDS TO RULE OVER AND YOU BLEW IT!" They yelled and I gripped my head in pain at the yelling.
"YOU ARE AN IDIOT TO THINK THAT THOSE TWO IDIOTIC GIRLS WOULD EVER LOVE YOU!" They yelled and I look down.
"THEY WILL NEVER LOVE YOU, THEY WILL NEVER WANT TO BE WITH YOU, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, AND THEY NEVER WILL, THEY DIDN'T COME TO SAVE YOU BUT ALDRICH'S SON THEY SAVED HIM BEFORE YOU!" They yelled getting louder and louder.
"THEY ABANDONED YOU, THEY LEFT YOU TO BE IN PAIN AND ONLY PAIN THEY WANT YOU TO SUFFER!" They yelled and I look down. I felt like crying but I couldn't show my emotions, I wasn't allowed to. There was another blast and I hurry to the computer and look to see that Anne, Marcy and the others were by the cannon shooting at us.
"YOU'RE USELESS!" The core yelled and I feel a huge shock thought my body.
"GOD DAMN IT!" I yelled as I dropped to the ground and held my head where most of the pain was.
"WE THOUGHT YOU WOULD NEVER DO THIS TO US, YOU'RE JUST LIKE US!" They yelled and I keep holding my head.
"YOU ARE USELESS, WE COULD HAVE KEPT THAT DUMB GIRL MARCY, SHE WAS SO EASY TO MINIPULATE!" They yelled more.
"SHUT UP!" I yelled and another blast from the cannon hit us.
"GET THEM TO STOP OR I WILL!" They yelled and I look to the old king and I look down.
"Ok but no…. no core." I tell them and they look to me and nod and I nod as well. I hurry to open the door and there was another blast so I held the doorframe and looked around till I saw them.
"STOP!" I yelled.
"ALEX?!" I hear Marcy yell and I nod quickly.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!" Grime yells and I think as the castle was lowered down and I hurry out. Anne and Marcy ran up to me to hug me. I wanted to hug them back I really did but God I was so scared.
"How did you get rid of the core?" Anne asked and I look to her scared and she looked to me.
"Alex?" She asked and I shake my head quickly.
"You need to stop just stop." I tell her and looked to Marcy then back to Anne.
"Stop." I say to them and they look at me and I saw the book in Marcy's hand and I grabbed it quickly and wrote something down without looking to the book. I show it to them but forgetting they can't read how I wrote it. I was about to write like normal but Marcy stopped me from moving my hand and read the paper but made it look like she was looking at me.
"Alex… stop what?" She asked and I look to Anne.
"Stop trying to blow the castle up, there is no problem." I tell them and look to Marcy who looked to me and I flipped the page and wrote again without looking down again and I showed it to Marcy. I think she was memorizing what I had written.
"Alex." Anne says and I look to her sadly.
"My head hurts." I tell her and she placed her hand to my head and I felt like crying.
"It hurts so much… the yelling, the… the planning… it hurts." I tell her honestly and she feels the back of my head a bit and I look to her more. I then flipped another page and wrote down more words and showed it to Marcy.
"Alex, it's ok… it's going to be ok." Anne says and I look to her sadly.
"It's going to be ok." She tells me.
"It's not." I tell her. It was true, it was not going to be ok at all.
"I didn't… I didn't want to hurt anyone, I didn't want to do any of this, I thought I was doing good." I say and wrote something else for Marcy.
"You are, you're doing so good, be proud of yourself, you're doing so much and we are so proud of you, I'm so proud of you… we're going to help you just like you helped everyone here." Anne says and I feel tears down my face.
"I'm so sorry Anne… I'm so… so sorry." I tell her.
"Sorry for what?" She asked.
"Everything." I tell her and I feel another shock.
"LIEUTENANT!"
"ALEX!" I hear and I dropped the book and gripped my head. I could hear the laughing, the yelling, everything hurt. I opened my eyes and saw that I could see out of both of them. Like I couldn't control my body, my voice but I was able to see everything. I could hear myself laughing at everyone.
"Emotions… such pity he still has them." I hear and look around a bit at this.
"He's panicking right now… this is great." The Core says and I was panicking.
"Give him back." I hear Anne say but the Core laughed.
"Are you kidding? This is the best thing to ever happen, he's so easy to talk to, and a bit of a challenge too." They say and I felt sick to my stomach.
"YOU BASTARDS!" Anne yells and I look to her.
"Anne stop." Marcy tells her as she holds her back.
"Yes Heart, listen to Wit, now if you don't mind-."
"SHUT UP YOU FUCKED UP DEAD ASSES!" Marcy yelled and I was a bit shocked at this.
"Ah, be careful one wrong move and Alex here will feel everything, he's watching you right now." The Core says and I look at the as they back off.
"I knew this was a trap, but now that we have this all figured out." The Core says and snaps my fingers. There was a blast and we all looked to see something bust from the castle and head to the sky.
"What was that? What did you just do?" Anne asked and we look back to them. I feel the smirk on my face.
"You should know by now about our little… Surprise." They tell them.
"The moon?" Marcy asked and I hear my fingers snap.
"Correct, one point for Wit, so I would say you have about oooh, a few hours to try and stop the moon from…. Crashing into Amphibia and destroying this world and all the living things on it… we have new worlds to take over so there is no need to stay here." The Core says and we turn around.
"WAIT!" Marcy says and my body is turned around to look at her.
"W-We need Alex to help us." She says and the core thinks for a bit.
"Let's make a little wager… I'll let Alex have free will till an hour before the moon blasts into the planet." They tell them and look between Anne and Marcy.
"F…Fine whatever." Anne says to them and they nod. I felt like shit at this what are we supposed to do in a few fucking hours, we can't do anything in a few fucking hours, why the fuck was this messing up.
"Alex?" I hear and I look to the side to see Grime and I nod a bit at this and look to everyone.
"Alright we need to get to work now." HopPop says and I nod quickly and quickly looked around.
"M-my books, my books." I mutter and look around and I grabbed the one on the ground and looked through it quickly.
"Did the caves say anything?" Marcy asked and I think.
"Other… other than using the gems… I don't I don't know." I say as I look through my book in a panic.
"Alex, Alex calm, down." Anne says.
"I can't we only have a few hours and even then." I say and I feel Anne place her hands on my shoulders.
"It's ok, it's ok, we got this, we always got this." She says and I nod and look to Marcy who looked to be down and I look to the ground a bit. I go over to her and she looked to me as I look to her.
"We… we got to fix this somehow." I hear her say.
"Marcy." I say to her and looked to Anne.
"This is all my fault." She says and Anne comes over to us.
"We…we got this ok, I'm just… I know I'm panicking and stuff right now but I mean… come on you're Marcy, you're… you're smart and, and brave and just… we got this." I tell her and she still looked down at this and I take a few breaths and I look through my book again as I tried to find anything. We all worked for over an hour or so and I just keep reading and thinking and I gripped my head a bit at this.
"What if we… blow up the moon." Marcy says.
"Can we honestly do that?" I asked.
"I don't know." She says and I think on this and keep looking through my books.
"Alex." I hear and look to Anne as she showed me something in the book.
"What is it?" Marcy asked and she comes over and I read it over and over again.
"Ok… ok yea I think we can." I mutter and look to everyone as they grabbed whatever they could, some people spending time with their own family and I gripped my arm a bit.
"What about… him?" I hear and looked to Anne and Marcy as they looked to me. I looked down. I feel ashamed, I feel scared, I feel worthless. I couldn't stop this on my own, I should have been able to stop this, Anne and Marcy along with everyone else should have never had to help me, they shouldn't be dealing with this at all, I should have stopped all of this, I should have saved Marcy earlier, I should have tried harder.
"Alex?" I hear and look to the side and see Anne and Marcy looking at me.
"We got this." Marcy says and I look to her then back to the ground.
"We need to get this done." I say and get up.
"Alex." I hear and shake my head. We all headed into the castle where Valeriana was. She looks over to me and I look to the side a bit as she comes up to me.
"Are you ok?" They asked and I nod.
"Yea just… I need help." I whispered to her and she looked to the other two and then back to me.
"The core?" They asked and I nodded.
"It's… in my head and I just…I can't get it out… the helmet isn't needed anymore and I just… how can I?" I tried to ask and she placed her tail on my shoulder.
"This is a big problem my child." She says and I nod.
"Very big." I mutter.
"Sadly, I do not know the answer." She tells me and I nod at this.
"I get it, it's… I get it." I tell her and she looked at me sadly and I look down to the ground and we head over to the music box. I was still panicking at the fact that we were doing this. I think and think on this and I look to the box as it started to glow a bit and I take a deep breath. I can't do this, I really can't so I back up a bit.
"Are you ok?" I hear and look to Anne as she looked to me worried and I nod and step back into place. I didn't want to worry her; I didn't want to worry anyone.
"Just lost my footing for a bit." I say to her quietly. The Gems started the glow and I take some breaths as the gems shined light at us. As I feel the power, I try to keep calm and the light fades and I look to see Anne and Marcy all powered up. I think just a bit and I go over to them.
"Ready?" Marcy asked and I nod and we head out the castle.
"You three be careful and come back safe you hear." HopPop says and I nod a little and look to Grime. He looked to me and I go over to him.
"Be careful Lieutenant." He says and I nod at this and then look to the ground.
"Are you ok?" He asked and I nod.
"Yea… I got… I got to go." I say and look at him again. He nods at this and I go back over to Anne and Marcy. My head began to hurt a bit.
"Alex?" Marcy asked and I look to her and nod quickly.
"I'm fine, really I am." I say and take a breath and looked to the moon as it got closer to the planet. Why was I feeling like this? I shouldn't be feeling this at all, this isn't… this feeling isn't a good feeling.
"Alex." I hear and look to see Marcy and Anne had already headed up to the moon and I follow them. It seems that they had a defense system set up and monsters came at us from every direction. There was so many to the point where I begin to feel tired.
"Give up." I hear and I shake my head as I keep fighting.
"MARCY WATCH OUT!" I hear and see a monster going after her. I was about to go to her but she was able to defeat the monster easily and I feel some pain on my side just as something hits me throwing me back a few feet.
"Damn it." I mutter as I look to the beast and I go after it.
"Almost an hour." I hear and we keep fighting. It got to the point where we did beat all the beasts and I look around.
"You think we can't have multiple forms? You were just a stand in." I hear and look to Anne and Marcy as we go up to the moon to stop it as best as we could.
"Even with our powers we can't." I hear and I think back to the cave drawing and I look to Marcy and Anne.
"Guys give me your gems." I hear and look to Anne.
"What why?" I asked.
"I'm going to use them-."
"NO!" Marcy yelled and my head hurts.
"Oh, does Anne know?" I hear and I look to both Marcy and Anne.
"No, no don't I know what-."
"I've got it… I've trusted both of you and you have to trust me this time." She tells us and I look to her.
"Anne, I know damn well what-."
"I'll be ok I promise." She says and I look to the moon and then to her as we keep trying to push it back.
"No, no don-."
"ALEX LISTEN TO ME!" She yelled and I look to her and she looked to the both of us.
"Give me your gems." She says and holds her hand out and I look at her.
"Anne, Alex what will happen if you use all three gems yourself?" Marcy asked and we hear some sounds and I look to see a bunch of robots coming at us. We were about to stop them till they came to our sides.
"Andrias's robots?" I asked as we kept trying to push back.
"They're helping?" Marcy asked and I look to Anne as she looked to the robots then to the planet.
"Guys, the gems." I hear Anne say.
"Tick Tock Alex." I hear and look to see the moon looking back at me and I look down.
"I NEED THE GEMS NOW!" Anne yelled and I look to her.
"Please trust me." She says and I nod and look to Marcy. We both hand her our gems and I look at her.
"Anne rethink-."
"It's fine Alex-."
"It's not fine Anne, think about it-."
"Alex… I'm sorry." She says and we get sent back to the lands and I start to panic.
"What's going on?" Sprig asked and I look to him.
"Y-Y-You have to stop Anne she's making a stupid mistake and she won't listen but maybe you can." I tell him.
"What mistake?"
"She's going to get herself killed, she's going to use the gems you have to help her." I tell him and he nods and goes over to Frobo and takes off and I look up.
"She's going to die?" Marcy asked and I look to her and I shake my head.
"Not if she doesn't use the gems, as long as she doesn't use them, we're good." I say as I look at the sky more.
"Time's u-." But before they could finish their sentence, we see the sky blow up in an array of colors and I kept looking in the sky for anything.
"Anne?" I asked myself as I kept looking for Anne. I hear everyone cheering but I kept looking for Anne.
"Where is she?" I hear Marcy asked and I keep looking and we see sprig come down with something in Frobos arms. I run up to them quickly and I know Marcy along with the others had followed and I see Anne but she looked like she was made of glass like she could break at any wrong tilt or turn. There were cracks on her face and I grabbed her gently and Marcy helped me as we set her down gently.
"Anne, it's going to be ok." Marcy says an I just keep looking at Anne who was looking at Marcy. She talked to everyone else but she didn't look to me once. But I keep looking at here even when she faded away into leaves and I didn't speak or anything.
"Alex." I hear and I stand up as I hear Grime. I take a shaky breath. I failed her, I failed her parents, I failed.
"She's gone." I mutter and keep my eyes down.
"She saved many worlds." HopPop says and I shake my head.
"SHE DIED SHE'S GONE SHE WASN'T SUPPOSED…. She wasn't supposed to." I mutter the last part hours passed us by and I was back in Wartwood with Marcy as everyone was setting up a somewhat party for Anne.
"Is that seat taken?" I hear and look up to see Marcy as she looked to me down to me and I move a bit so she could have some room.
"What are you thinking?" She asked as she took a seat next to me and I watch as Polly and Sprig were hanging up streamers.
"Why she isn't back yet." I say simply.
"Did something say she was supposed to be back?" She asked and I think.
"I don't know… I guess it's just a delusion I have." I tell her honestly and I get up and help as Polly couldn't get a streamer up so I picked her up to help her.
"Thanks." She says and I nod a little and go back over to Marcy after I finished helping her. I take a seat and keep looking around.
"Why didn't she look at me?" I asked and looked to Marcy.
"I… don't think she wanted you to even see her like that." She tells me and I look to the ground.
"…She… didn't even talk to me." I say.
"I know… just… don't think of it as a bad thing."
"How can I not?" I asked.
"She didn't want you to worry… when you talked to Valariana, I told Anne what you wrote to us." She says and I look at her.
"You could read it." I stated and looked to the ground.
"Your dad taught us… speaking of your dad." She says and I look to her.
"No." I say to her.
"But-."
"I don't want to leave." I tell her.
"But… what about your dad? He is so worried about you, your siblings too." She says and I sit up a bit and I take a deep breath.
"He's going to be fine without me… they have for ten years…and… I don't have any reason to go back." I say and looked to Marcy as she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"I read… your book… would you go home with me?" She asked and I look to her.
"I'm not asking to replace Anne in any way." She says and I shake my head and look to the sky as the stars were out and the lanterns were on.
"You aren't… but… I think I'm better off here then back home… this is honestly my home." I tell her and look to her.
"Are you asking me to stay?" She asked and I shrugged a little and looked to her.
"I think we all would benefit with you here." I say to her.
"I don't think anyone would be happy with me staying here." She says and I look at her.
"You kidding me? everyone understands, we know it wasn't you it was the stupid Core." I say and feel my head a bit.
"I just… don't think." She tried to say and I look to her.
"You're overthinking and putting yourself down." I tell her. She stays quiet for a while and I hear her pat her legs.
"Alright… I'll stay here too…Can't have you having all the fun." She says and I chuckled a little and think a bit. Everyone was talking with each other and I look over to Grime who was coming over to us and he hands me a glass mug and I take it and he offered one to Marcy who declines. I look to her as I take a drink of mine and look to everyone.
"You drink?" She asked and I look at her.
"Nah, this is my second drink… I'm not a drinker I swear." I tell her and she nods and I take another drink. And that is all I did was drink and drink as others partied and I just stayed with Marcy. I didn't say anything I just kept silent I know I was intoxicated I know but I wasn't doing anything stupid at least.
"Woah they sure throw a party." I hear and both Marcy and I turned and I fell to the ground as I see Anne.
"ANNE!?" Marcy yelled and everyone stopped and I know they were looking to us and I just look to her.
"How?" I asked and Anne smiles.
"Well, would you believe me if I told you I got to meet a god?" she says as she takes a seat and I rubbed my eyes a bit, thinking I was making all of this up in my head but Marcy was talking to her.
"A god wait hold on." I hear and then I see the Planters run over to Anne and give her hugs like crazy.
"How, What, why?" I hear and I get up and stumble a bit but grabbed the seat a bit.
"Ok, ok, hold on it's still so crazy for me too." She says and I just keep looking at her.
"So, you met a god that looked like your cat?" Sprig asked.
"Well, no it has a different form and all but it took the form of my cat… Anyway, we talked for a good while, and well… they kind of offered me to be a god too." She says and I look to her more. She still didn't look at me but I kept looking at her.
"Holy crud dude did you take it?" Polly asked.
"Well… no." She says and then she looked to me then to Marcy.
"Not yet anyway." She tells us and I still don't speak but I keep watching her as everyone listened to her.
"But you could have been a god dude." Polly says.
"Yea but… I think right now I'd like to spend my time with people I love… alive you know." She says and after a while everyone got back to what they were doing. Anne stayed over by Marcy and I but she doesn't really talk to me so I take a few more drinks and I look to the frogs, toads and newts as they talked with each other.
"So, I heard you and Marcy are staying here?" I hear and look to Anne as she looked to me. I nod a bit at this.
"Yea I just… yea." I mutter and look to the others again.
"Can we talk alone?" Anne asked and I nod as I get up a bit but I stumbled just a little and Anne helped me. we go over to the edge of where the party was and we take a seat on the stone wall.
"You're mad because I wouldn't look or talk to you." She says and I look at her.
"Domino God showed me." She says and I look down.
"I didn't… mean to… seem like I… I just… felt… I just wanted to know why is all." I say and look to her.
"But you don't have to tell me why, I'm ok, you don't need to explain." I tell her.
"I think you should know why." She says and I rubbed my head a bit.
"You… I thought I would have died up there… when I read from your book, I just didn't know what would happen…. And I saw what you wrote to Marcy." She says and I look to her.
"You were willing to… give up your own life to save everyone… you didn't think how I would feel." She says and I keep looking at her.
"You didn't think about me or even Marcy for that matter." She says.
"I did think of you two." I tell her and she looked to me.
"I… I was thinking what was best in the situation we were in, I know I didn't think and it was in the moment kind of situation." I try to explain.
"I get it… and I'm sorry for yelling at you." She says and I laughed a bit.
"It's fine really." I say and we looked back to the party a bit.
"Think you can dance?" She asked.
"Hah, no, but I think Marcy would like to dance with someone of her own height right now." I say and point to her. Anne looked to me and I nod a bit at this.
"I'll be fine." I tell her and she gets up and then I feel her grab my arm and I look at her.
"Come on, get up." She says and I roll my eye and get up. We go over to Marcy and both hold our hand out to her and she takes our hands and we go and dance for a bit. I stumbled a bit but I was ok. I was having as much fun as I could right now. For all I know this isn't real but I hope it was real. I don't know how long we danced and had fun but when everyone was tired, they all went home. Marcy Anne and I went out to the open fields and we all take a seat and I cleared my throat a bit.
"So, you had a mando crush on me?" Marcy asked and I coughed a bit and looked to her.
"Anne might have told me… and your journal too, sorry for reading it." She says and I shrugged.
"It's fine… and yeah… I uh… I still do." I say and looked to the sky a bit.
"Well… if you guys are comfortable with the idea." She says and I smirk and looked to Anne.
"Dude is Marcy asking us out?" Anne whispers loud enough for Marcy to hear.
"I think so… but why would this cutie want to ask me out?" I asked Anne.
"Hey I'm right here." Marcy says and I smiled and looked to her.
"If Anne here is ok with it, so am I." I say to Marcy and she looked to Anne.
"Hmm, cute nerd girlfriend and handsome jock boyfriend… I got a good deal there." Anne jokes and we laughed at this and I clear my throat a bit.
"So… is that a, yes?" Marcy asked.
"Of course, dude." She says and they are excited and planning dates out already.
"Alex, when we get Newtopia all fixed up maybe we can have a huge date there, all day no one to bother us at all." Anne suggested and I look to her then to Marcy.
"Yea, that would be great actually." I say and they nod in agreement and I think.
"Will we be able to go back to earth?" I asked.
"No… the gems are gone… even if we wanted to I don't even think we could, our powers are gone." Anne says and I nod.
"I'm sorry." She says and I look to her.
"No need to be sorry Anne… nothing to be sorry about." Marcy says and I look to Anne.
"No reason to be sorry… it's sad to say I'm… actually happy here." I admitted. And take a deep breath.
"Man am I going to miss home though." Anne says and I look to her.
"I still miss your moms cooking." I joked and we laughed.
"I'm going to miss my switch." Marcy says and laughed a bit and I look to her.
"Well knowing you, you'll be making game systems all on your own." I say and she nods.
"We are going to have some fun here." Anne says and I nod.
"Yea… wild adventures here we come." I say and rubbed the back of my head.
"You worried the core will come back?" I hear Marcy asked.
"A little." I mutter.
"Don't worry… they are all gone, no more core, Domino god made sure of that." Anne says and I look to her.
"I may have asked for a few favors in exchange to becoming the next deity or whatever." She waved off and I look at the ground a bit.
"Sorry you had to even ask for those favors." I say.
"No worries, I'm a little stoked on being a deity, you two can now joke that you're dating a goddess in progress." She jokes and I laughed and patted her back and then laid back on the ground and looked to the sky.
"We'll make it work." Marcy says and I nod in agreement.
