(Alex's Pov)
I feel some movement on my chest and I take a deep breath as I slowly start to wake up. I look to the window a bit and see that it was still night out and I look down to see both Anne and Marcy laying on top of me. I take slow breaths so I don't wake them and I look up to the ceiling a bit.
"You, ok?" I hear Anne mumble and I look down a bit and nod.
"Yea just… woke up is all." I tell her quietly.
"We can get some tea if you need to go back to sleep… Marcy is a bit of a heavy sleeper so." She suggested and I look down a bit and shook my head slightly.
"Nah I'm good… why aren't you asleep?" I asked.
"Had a bit of a bad dream." She says.
"Want to talk about it?" I ask.
"I uh…. No, I don't." She says and I look to her.
"You sure?" I asked getting a bit worried.
"Yea I'm sure… maybe one day but just not now." She tells me and I nod a little at this.
"Ok… Ok I get it… I'll wait." I tell her and I feel her nod a bit.
"I'm sorry." She says to me and I stay silent for a bit.
"Anne… you and Marcy have nothing to say sorry about you two need to stop saying you're sorry for not telling me anything, you're allowed to keep things to yourself but… I would like for you two to at least tell me something when you can and not bottle it all up… keeping things bottled up isn't healthy." I tell her.
"I know, I know but… I don't know if I really could talk about something like this for a long while." She says and I take a deep breath.
"I get it, and it's fine but it's best to talk about it, heck if it's not even me or Marcy you're talking about you could talk to Sprig, he's you little brother, your best friend." I tell her and she laughed a little and places her hand to my chest and I clear my throat a bit.
"Yea, he's a good friend… I'll talk about it one day." She says and I rubbed her back a little bit.
"It's all ok Anne take all the time you need… and if you get angry, we could… spar?" I suggested.
"I'll stay by and watch." I hear Marcy say and I chuckled a bit as I stop rubbing Annes back but she keeps her hand placed to my chest.
"You little eavesdropper." I mutter and kissed her head.
"Hmm, I could feel you talking." She says and I smiled a little.
"Sorry Mar-Mar." Anne says and she puts her hand to Marcy's head and I look to both of them and I look back to the ceiling. I rubbed Marcy's back a bit and I take the time to just think. We stayed like this for a while to the point were the sun started to come up.
"Hmm." Marcy says and tries to cuddle more and I chuckled a bit.
"What's so funny?" Anne asked.
"You two being cute." I say and I get a slight slap to the chest and I chuckled more.
"You big softie." Marcy says and I rubbed her back more.
"Yep…. That I am." I say and look back to the ceiling a bit.
"Think we should get up?" I asked.
"Nah, let's be lazy for a bit longer." Marcy says and I chuckled and looked to Anne.
"We'll I'm going to get ready." Anne says and she gets up.
"Awww but Anne." Marcy and I say and she looks to us.
"Nah, you two be lazy." She says and I chuckle as she heads out and I look to Marcy and kiss her head.
"Come on, let's get up Mar-Mar." I say as I sit up but she stops me and I look to her as she get's up and sits on me and I look up at her.
"Daring?" I asked and she laughed.
"Sorry I just think it's funny how you react." She says and I laugh.
"Really now?" I asked and she nods a bit.
"Sorry if this makes you feel-."
"No, it's fine… I've just never seen you so daring." I say to her.
"Hey I'm pretty daring." She says.
"That's true but let's be fair you never really did this." I say.
"Ok, ok, I get it, but it's still funny to see your reaction." She says and then gets off and I look to her and I get up myself. We all get dressed up and meet down by the dining room and eat some breakfast. It was simple and we talked with Olivia and Yunan as they talked about what we could do to progress Amphibia as a whole and I agreed with them and said I could help with making some sort of a coordination building between the three areas.
"That would be wonderful." Olivia says and I nod in agreement.
"Actually, we had all been thinking if you three would be interested in working as the coordinators, we all think you would be great for the job." Olivia says and I look to Marcy and Anne.
"I mean yes, we all could but don't you think someone better qualified-."
"Are you kidding? You three are way more qualified than what you think Anne you saved the world, Marcy helped with the rebuilding of Newtopia, and Alex you helped with building between our communities, you all helped build the schools in Wartwood, you're helping with finding new continents and island, you all are perfect." Yunan says and I look to everyone.
"I mean… it's just… can we think on it?" I asked.
"Of course." Olivia says and I nod and we finish up breakfast and headed out for the day.
"Do you think we should take the job?" Marcy asked and I think for a bit.
"I mean we would still be doing the same thing we are now… so it wouldn't be do anything different." Anne says and I think a bit.
"Yea I mean we would still be doing the same thing." Marcy says.
"But what if we find a way back?" I asked.
"Well like we talked about before we could visit back to our world and then come back here." Anne says.
"I know but… what if… you have work back in our world and-."
"Hey, I haven't been there for five years, I bet they had someone replace me, no harm in it." She tells me.
"Yeah but… I don't know what I'm thinking right now." I say and they both stand in front of me, and I stop walking and look to them.
"Alex, are you rethinking everything?" Marcy asked.
"No, I'm just thinking about you and Anne-."
"Hey, we all agreed that it was ok for all of us to stay here, we are ok with this, we don't want to leave." Anne says and I look to them.
"But-."
"Alex… is everything ok?" Anne asked and I nod.
"Yes, everything is ok I'm just… look I just want you two to know you can go back home and that's ok." I tell them.
"But we can't even find a way back home right now, and even if we do we would just go to visit family, that's all, you don't have to go back home but you can at least visit mine and Marcy's parents…. Wouldn't you like to at least talk to your dad once?" Anne asked.
"Yes, I would like to talk to my dad once, but the thing is…-."
"Do you think you'll do something bad?" Marcy asked.
"Bad?" I asked.
"Yeah, like you might do something bad if you see him?" She asked and I look to the both of them.
"I know I won't it's just…. Look let's not talk about it-."
"No we need to talk about it… you told me I needed to talk about what I was thinking maybe you should take your own advice?" Anne says and I rubbed the back of my head.
"Ok look… I'm more worried about my mom just… trying to take advantage of the whole situation you know?" I asked.
"Just tell her off, Marcy went off on her." Anne says.
"Marcy did?" I asked.
"Yea, totally did, now if we do go back home just tell her off, if she's finally going to 'accept' you for this then she's not doing it for the right reasons." Marcy says putting quotations of accept and I think a bit.
"Look Alex, we don't have to go and talk to your mom, if she tries to say anything to you we'll just leave and get away from her, she's a bitch." Anne says and I chuckled a bit at this.
"Ok, I get it." I tell them and they nodded.
"If you need to talk you know you can talk to us… Right?" Marcy asked and I nodded.
"I know, I know." I say and we decided to head out of Newtopia for a bit and I look down at the water a bit but take a seat at the sanded area they had around the city.
"This is so nice and peaceful… why would anyone want to leave this place?" Marcy asked and I look to her as she takes a seat next to me and I look to her. I take a breath and mess around with the sand and I look over to Anne as she looked around as she stood in the water and I just keep watching her.
"No one would… I mean it's nice here, we travel a lot and it's fun… I kind of wish I had seen this when we were younger." I tell her. I look over to Marcy and she looks down a bit.
"I… Marcy I didn't mean to… look I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound like an asshole." I tell her.
"No, it's fine, I swear it's fine… I just… it's just that… I don't want to remember all the negative stuff that I have done when we first got here, I don't want to remember that I thought I could trust someone who ended up using me for their plans, and then they hurt you, and Anne…. Look at what… I did to you." She says and I look at her.
"You didn't do that, Marcy it was the core." I tell her.
"I just I still feel like it's my fault because I caused it all to happen, I showed you the box, I got us sent here-."
"Marcy that was my fault, I made Anne steal the box, I made her open the box." I tell her.
"But-."
"But nothing." I tell her and I rubbed my face a bit.
"Hey you two, ok?" I hear and look up to see Anne as she comes over to us.
"Yea just chatting." Marcy says and I look to her and then to Anne. I nod at this and we go and walk around a bit and Marcy picks up some shells and I grabbed a few myself and Anne also picked up a few.
"I think Olivia would like these." Marcy says as she comes up to us and shows her collection and I smiled. I showed her the shells I found and she would talk about them as we head back to the castle. Marcy shows the shells to Olivia and gives them to her and I see the smile on Olivia's face and I look to the few I had found. Grimes wouldn't want something like this, I should really think on how I should give him a gift.
"Hey you think HopPop would like a new ascot?" Anne asked and I think.
"I mean he does talk about them a lot, plus if it's from you, yea he would like it more." I say and she nods.
"I think I'll get him one, as thanks you know." She tells me and I nod and think to myself some more.
"You want to get Grime a gift?" Marcy asked as she came over to us.
"Yea but… I honestly don't know what to get him you know?" I asked
"You could get him a sword." Marcy says as we head to the library in the castle.
"He has Barrel's war hammer though, that thing is wicked strong." I tell her as we grab a few books to read. I see some books based on other's traveling to different worlds.
"Hey he'd like anything you get him." Anne tells me and I think some more.
"I know he would but, I don't know I'll think of something." I say and we go and take a seat to read a bit. I flipped through a few pages and I see something interesting.
"Hey look at this Alex." Marcy says and she shows me a page in her book that talks about some of the inventions that were made to help the city out.
"Think we could use some of this for Toad Tower? Could help them out." She says.
"Yea actually some of these ideas could work." I say as I read more in her book and she hands it to me and I read more.
"Hah, nerd." Anne says and I wave her off a bit as her and Marcy laughed and I read more and I grab one of my journals to take some notes to show to Grime later.
"What book were you reading?" Marcy asked and I look up.
"Oh it was just some old journals of other newts who traveled to different worlds and stuff, maybe they have information on how they were able to." I say and hand Marcy the book and she looks through it.
"It seems like these were just common people." She tells us and I sighed.
"That kind of sucks." I mutter silently.
"You think Lilly Planter would have a journal we could look into?" I asked Anne and she thinks.
"Maybe, actually Polly said she found some notes of one of the family inventors, maybe we should look into it?" I asked.
"That would be great when we get back to Wartwood we can go look into it HopPop wouldn't mind at all." She says.
"And Lilly worked with Andris so maybe I can find something here." Marcy tells us and I nod and keep looking into helping everyone. We finished up the books we had and I go look around a bit more before someone grabbed my hand and I look to see Marcy looking at me.
"Hey, we can look into it more later, just relax for the rest of the day, we'll talk to Olivia and Yunan to see if they can help us look for any books." She tells me.
"Well can't Andrias tell us?" I asked.
"I don't think he will, he wouldn't tell anyone anything after got back to Amphibia." She says and I nod a bit. we head out and head over to the park for a bit. There were many Newts with their families walking around or heck even having fun with their families. There were even frogs and toads here too, I look to Anne and Marcy as we go and take a seat over by the fountain and I look to it a bit as Anne and Marcy talked about what they planned on doing when they get back to our house.
"Oh I'll have to ask HopPop if I could borrow some seeds, only thing we won't plant are tomatoes… actually dang it we should have brought seeds from our world would have made things easier." Anne says and I chuckled a bit.
"Hello." We hear and look to see a little Newt looking at us and I look to Anne and Marcy then back to the little Newt.
"Oh hello." Marcy says as she goes up to the newt.
"I'm Sally." She says and I nod a little at this.
"Nice to meet you Sally… are your parents around?" Anne asked.
"My mommy is over there; I've never seen you around what are you?" She asked us I see her mother coming over to us quickly.
"I am so sorry; she's never seen humans before." Her mother says.
"Hey it's nothing new, it's fine." Marcy says and the little newt looks to us more and she grabbed ahold of my cape a bit.
"He's from Toad Tower." She says as she flaps my cape a bit and I laughed a bit at this.
"Sally, I am so sorry-."
"No, no it's fine really she's just wondering is all." I say and look to Sally a bit as she kept messing with my cape a bit.
"I want a cape too mommy." She says as she goes over to her mom.
"Ok, I'll make you one when we get home." She tells her daughter.
"Can I play with the humans?" Sally asked and I look to her mother.
"I don't think we should bother them right now; they have important jobs." She tells her daughter.
"Awww." She says and I chuckled a bit at this.
"Maybe some other day, now say bye to them." She says and they wave to us and we wave back to them.
"That was interesting." Anne says.
"Well, that's kids for you, interesting little creatures." I say and I hear Marcy giggle a bit and I look at her.
"So, the Derby?" She asked and we nod as we head over to the center of the town.
"Man, it's been so long since I've been to one of these." Anne says and I watch as two newts bash into each other.
"Hey that's Priscilla, and her daughter Pearl." Anne says.
"You know them?" I asked.
"Yea, when Sprig and I got into the derby ourself to try and win my mom a gift we had to go head to head with her, it was amazing." She tells us.
"Wow she's really good." I say as we watch the game more.
"Yeah, her daughter is really good too, they're a great team." Anne says and the Derby finishes with Priscilla being the winner.
"I'm going to go talk to her real quick." Anne says as she runs over to the two and I look at Marcy who was drawing.
"Getting some new ideas?" I asked as I looked to her drawing and she nods.
"Yea I could probably use this for my comics, I have so much new stuff to add into it, I have a few drawn out already for anyone to read." She tells me and I chuckled. When Anne came back we headed over to Gerties for some food and I give her the coppers and we eat for a bit.
"So, after this the library again and then off to bed." Marcy says and I chuckled a little.
"Actually, I need to go somewhere after the library so you and Anne can head on back to the castle." I tell her.
"Oh well we can come?" Anne asked and I shake my head.
"Nah it's fine just a small errand nothing to keep you guys out." I tell them.
"Are you sure?" Anne asked and I nodded a little.
"Yea, I'm sure." I say and I we finished up eating and head to the library again. We looked around and I found some more books that were peoples journals so I grabbed them and went over to Anne and Marcy and we took a seat to read for a bit. We were here for a good few hours and I found nothing but just on how they lived in Amphibia so these must have been written by those born here in Amphibia.
"Find anything good?" Anne asked.
"Nah these are just journals of people who were born here or lived here…. Think we could find anything at the other library?" I asked.
"Probably, not sure though." She says and I sighed a bit.
"It's fine Alex, we will work on it, we will work on it but it'll take some time." Marcy says and I rubbed my neck.
"Yea, yea I know I know." I say and we finish up here. Anne and Marcy went back to the castle as I went into the city smithing area and got a few supplies before I headed on back to the castle. I head over to my room and I see Anne and Marcy in there already and I smiled as I go and take a shower and get changed. I look in the mirror and rubbed my face a bit as I feel my beard. I was thinking of shaving it off but I decided to just trim it up a bit. When I finished up I head out the bathroom and looked to Anne and Marcy as they look to me.
"Nice trim." Anne says and I smiled a little and go over to them and take a seat on the bed.
"Thanks." I say.
"I kind of wish you'd let me try something new with it, I have some ideas." Marcy says and I covered my beard a bit.
"Nah I saw what you did to Anne's hair, I'm not risking losing this." I say.
"Oh come on, I can style it really well, and you can tell me when to stop, I promise it won't be gone." She says and I think a bit.
"Come on Alex, no harm in her trying." Anne says and I moved my hands away and look to Marcy.
"Alright… want to try tonight?" I asked and she quickly got up and headed to the bathroom and grabbed some shaving and trimming supplies and came back into the room and then she showed me some drawings she had and I look to them a bit.
"I think that one." I say as I pointed to one where there was a bit of a goatee and mustache, it was a short goatee which was fine with me and Marcy got to work.
"So, what did you have to do in town?" Anne asked.
"Ah hold on." Marcy says as she moved the scissors away from my face.
"They didn't have what I was looking for so I couldn't get what I needed." I tell her and Marcy went back to work.
"Oh, that's to bad, I'm sorry." She says and she looked to me a bit and smiled.
"Looking good." She says and I smiled a bit at this and after a while Marcy finished up and showed me with the mirror and I smiled.
"Wow this is really good Mar-Mar." I say as I touched my face a bit and looked to her.
"Thanks, I'm glad I didn't mess it up." She says.
"I was just joking about that, it's just hair it'll grow back." I tell her.
"I know, but still, I didn't want to mess it up even a little." She tells me and I helped her take the supplies to the bathroom and we head back to bed and I go in the middle as Anne turned the light off. I feel Marcy place her head back on my chest and placed my hand on the back of her head and rubbed it a bit. Anne lays her head by my neck and placed her hand on Marcy's head a bit then onto my chest. I couldn't sleep and I just look to the window a bit and saw the stars and I could hear the town as people talked and I closed my eyes a bit.
"Hey Alex?" I hear and tried to look to Anne.
"Hm? What's up?" I asked.
"Why do you want to try and get us back home so badly?" She asked.
"I know you miss your mom and dad, and Marcy can try and talk to her parent too." I say.
"But there has to be more to it though." She says and I think.
"I just… I…. I want to talk to my dad." I tell her honestly and she moved to look me in the eyes and I looked down a bit.
"You do?" She asked and I nod a little.
"I mean… the last time he saw me, I was helping a narcissistic mind hive of fuckers that just wanted to destroy our world… and I just… I want him to know that… I'm sorry, I guess… I don't know I just feel bad." I tell her.
"Do you think that he doesn't like you because of a stupid hive mind?" She asked me and I keep quiet.
"Alex?" She asked and I sighed a little.
"Alex?" She says again and I look to her.
"Maybe? I just don't… I don't want him to think that I actually was working with that thing, I mean… I helped them destroy our city and he must think badly of me for doing that-."
"Alex, you tell Marcy the same thing, it's not your fault, it never was your fault, that damn thing is to blame for all our problems, Andrias could have stopped it but he didn't-."
"I could have stopped it too." I tell her and she makes me look at her.
"You weren't at fault, you… look we were kids when it happened, yea as we grew up we could have done anything to stop it but how? How were we supposed to stop that thing when we didn't know what to do?" She asked.
"I don't know honestly, I don't but I feel like I could have done anything, maybe I should have beaten the hell out of Andrias, maybe I should have gone crazy and broken every machine they made I don't know I just… I just wish I could have done something." I tell her and she sighed and kissed my cheek a bit.
"Alex, you didn't want to hurt Marcy." She says.
"Of course I wouldn't want to hurt her, she's the most wonderful Woman in the world, same with you, I'd never want to hurt any of you… that's why I freaked out when you told us to give you the gems." I tell her.
"I didn't want you to get hurt again, heck I didn't know I would die." She says and she rubbed my cheek a bit and I look to the side a bit.
"Alex-."
"I just… I don't know I want to talk to him, I want you to be able to see your parents, I want Marcy to be able to talk to her parents, I just… I don't know anymore." I tell her.
"I get it, you want us to still see our parents, you want to talk to your dad again and you feel like you could have done more but you and I both know that you did just enough." I hear her say.
"But-."
"Alex, you did all you could, it's ok, it's all ok, don't worry." Marcy says and I look to her as she looked to me.
"You don't have to worry anymore, everything is fine, if we are able to go home that's fine and if we don't that's fine as well, we are ok with the life we have, because we have you and each other, we're happy." She says and I closed my eyes a bit.
"I just… look let's say we end up having kid-."
"You want to have kids?" Marcy asked and she gets up a bit and makes me look to her.
"Let's just say we do have kids… wouldn't you want them to meet your guys parents? Heck we could let them go to school in our world and even here too, and let's say that we can't get home, would they start blaming us for not being able to get them to meet their human grandparents?" I asked.
"I didn't really think about that." Anne says.
"But don't you think they would be ok if they have lived here for so long? It's not like they're instantly going to know that we tried and failed?" Marcy asked.
"I… No they wouldn't know but over time don't you think people are going to talk to them about how we failed?" I asked.
"They would ask questions and we will just tell them the truth, it's all we can do." Anne says and I lay my head back a bit.
"Look Alex, we can keep trying to get home but when the time does come and we do have a family they will do whatever we can to make them happy, and they'll understand if we just explain it to them." Marcy says and I nod a bit.
"I just don't want to disappoint them is all."
"What are they going to be disappointed about?" Anne asked.
"The fact that I got us sent here." Marcy says.
"The fact that I was a control freak that tried to take over Newtopia?" I asked.
"The fact that I was easily able to be controlled by a hive mind and helped in the destruction of Amphibia, and hurting their dad." Marcy says.
"The fact that I hurt both their moms with being a manipulator and making them do stuff they didn't want to." I tell her.
"Now hold on you two-."
"What about the fact that I helped destroy parts of our hometown and got us stuck here after ten years?" I asked.
"Let's be fair I kind of caused that by using the gems." Anne says.
"Yea but, you did that to save both worlds and many others." Marcy says and I think.
"We got a lot of problems." I laughed a little at this.
"Yea but we can work through it, when have we ever backed down from big problems?" Anne asked.
"Never." Both Marcy and I said and we all laughed.
"See… and if we did have kids we have everyone help out, if they ask questions we answer them, they'll understand if we don't keep secrets from them." She tells us and I nod.
"Ok… but I'm still going to freak out here and there." I tell her.
"It's fine to worry." Marcy says and I look to both of them.
"My mom said to me one 'parents will worry about their kids but it's going to be ok in the end, as long as you love them and talk to them, they'll understand, even if it takes time.' And trust me, she's right." Anne says and I rubbed her back a bit.
"We don't have to have kids right now, we can wait when we are ready, heck we could even adopt too if we want, and we can help Sprig and Ivy with their kids to get a better understanding." Marcy says and I nod.
"Ok, we can do that." I say and she pats my chest a bit.
"See, we will be fine." Anne says and I nod and I sit up a bit and cracked my back a bit.
"Your back ok?" Marcy asked.
"Yea just needed to crack it, it's not good but it helps a bit." I tell them.
"You still need to get that checked out, when are you going to do that?" Anne asked.
"I don't need to get it checked out, I'm fine." I tell her.
"Alex." Marcy says and I look to her.
"It's ok trust me, I haven't felt any pain in it for a few years now." I tell them both.
"We worry about you too you know." She tells me and I rubbed the back of my head.
"I know but it it's not bothering me-."
"Would you be saying the same thing if it was Marcy or I?" Anne asked.
"Well, no but you guys know me." I say and she sighed a bit.
"Just get it looked at, at some point while we're here?" Marcy asked.
"Fine, fine." I say.
"Good, now let's get some sleep I'm tired." Marcy says as I moved down a bit and she lays her head on my chest again and I look to Anne as she held her head up with her hand and she looked down to us.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, just happy to be with you two." She says and I nod and she kisses me and I kissed her back. She kissed Marcy on the head and she lays back down and I closed my eyes and fall asleep. With the past week that passed us by I was able to work on the rings a bit and we told Olivia and the others that we would take the jobs and I would help with making the building, Anne and Marcy said they would as well. I was able to finish the rings but I was still scared about asking them, it was scary, they have been my friends for years.
"Hey we got the bags packed up ready to go." Anne says and I hide the rings in my chest pocket and I look to her.
"Oh, right heh." I go over to her and we head on out. Marcy was giving Olivia and Yunan a hug and HopPop was over by the fwagon and I go and set my bag right by them.
"Have you seen Sprig and the others?" He asked.
"Oh no I haven't actually I'm surprised we haven't heard him screaming or any destruction from the triplets." I joke and he laughed a bit at this.
"HOPPOP!" We hear and see the triplets as they hop over to us and Sprig looked tired as did Ivy and I go over to them.
"You two look like hell." I say.
"Hahah, wait till you have to raise kids." Sprig says and I chuckled.
"Sorry, actually I wanted to ask you something Sprig." I say and Ivy goes to help HopPop with the triplets and I look to sprig and he looks up to me.
"What's up?" He asked and I bent down a bit and showed him the ring I want to give Anne.
"I was wondering if… you'd be ok with me asking Anne to marry me?" I ask him.
"Wait really?" He asked.
"Well yea, I mean I'm asking them both but I already asked Olivia and Yunan for Marcy." I explained.
"Shouldn't you be asking HopPop?" He asked.
"I mean I kind of did but you and her are best friends and basically siblings so… are you ok with this?" I asked.
"Of course, I am even if you are a toad brute." He says.
"Hey wait-."
"Kidding, kidding, but yes I'm ok with it, you make Anne and Marcy happy." He says and I nod a little.
"Ok… now I got to figure out the best way to propose." I say as I get up.
"Oh, hey I can help with that." He says and I look to him.
"You're willing to help?" I asked.
"Of course, now did you have anything planned out already?" He asked.
"Kind of, I mean we've been going on small date here and there and I have an idea but we're about to leave so I don't really know." I explained to him.
"Well you could do it in Wartwood it doesn't have to be here." Sprig says and I nod.
"Yea I get it-."
"Hey ready to head out?" Marcy asked as she came over to us.
"Yep, ready." I say and we head out and I kept thinking about how I was going to do all this.
"Well seems like you have to put your name in the book of losers." Anne says as she slightly shoves my shoulder.
"Oh, damn I forgot about that."
"I'm just joking it's ok you don't have to." She tells me and I rubbed the back of my head and we kept walking. It was a few days before we get back to Wartwood, Anne, Marcy and I went over to our house and unpacked our bags and I pulled the rings out and looked to them a bit. I had to plan out how to properly propose to them and I hear a knock on the door so I quickly hide the rings and look to the door.
"Oh, hey Marcy, what's up?" I asked as I go over to her.
"HopPop and the others want us to come over for dinner." She tells me and I nod.
"Alright that would be great." I say and she gives me a kiss on the cheek and I feel her place her hand on my chest a bit and then she backs up a bit.
"Hey what's this?" She asked as she pulled the items out and I quickly grab the rings.
"Nothing just… um." I stop and she looked to me.
"Rings?" She asked and I looked down a bit.
"Look I just… I wanted to ask you two but I didn't know the right moment and I… I freaked out-."
"Hey it's ok." Marcy laughed a bit and I look to her.
"I'm sorry for not-."
"Alex, it's ok, calm down." She says as she puts her hands on my shoulders and I look at her sadly.
"I just wanted it to be perfect for you and Anne." I tell her.
"Alex, we don't care, heck even if you asked us to marry you while you were covered in dirt farming, we would have said yes." She tells me and I chuckled.
"So, um… I guess you'd want your ring?" I asked and held it out to her and she takes it.
"It's beautiful." She says as she looked to it.
"That's good I made it myself; I couldn't find the right one at the store." I tell her.
"You made these?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea." I say and show her Anne's ring. Marcy's ring was more of an aquatic setting, on a silver band and a green gem in the center, Anne's ring looked more woods like on a gold band and a blue gem in the center.
"Oh, she is going to love this." She says and I smiled a bit.
"Who's going to love what?" We hear and I was about to hide the ring but stopped and looked to Marcy as she looked back to me.
"Um… well I uh… ehem well." I tried to say something but froze up a bit.
"Marcy is he ok?" Anne asked as she comes up to us.
"I think you broke him, Anne." Marcy joked and I hold my hand out a bit in a fist and Anne looked at me and gave me a fist bump and Marcy laughed at this.
"What? What did we do something wrong?" Anne asked and I smiled a bit and grabbed her hand and had it opened as I placed her ring in her hand and she looks to it.
"Wait hold on is this?" She asked and I nod quickly.
"Yea I um… I was to chicken to make it a big thing and I just wanted to do something simple and I don't know… Marcy found out just a few minutes ago." I tell Anne and she looked to Marcy.
"Honestly I wasn't supposed to it was an accident." Marcy says and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Hey stop that, you're going to rub your neck raw." Marcy tells me and I move my hand away.
"So, uh… What do you say?" I asked her.
"Yes." She says and I smiled a bit and she put the ring on and Marcy puts hers on too.
"These are so beautiful, where did you get them?" Anne asked.
"He made them himself." Marcy tells her.
"Really? Aww that's really sweet Alex." She says and I smiled at this.
"I'm glad you both like them." I say to them.
"I just hope HopPop and the others don't freak out about this." Anne say and I laughed a bit.
"Oh, just imagine Olivia and Yunan's reaction." Marcy says.
"Oh they know already, I asked them about it, also Sprig and HopPop know too, I had to basically ask Sprig if he was ok with it and I had to ask HopPop how to propose to you Anne." I explained.
"Ok, so they won't be freaking out, thank frog." Anne says.
"Well Polly and Ivy might, not to sure." I say and she laughs at this.
"Well, we have to get ready for dinner with the family." Marcy says and I nod as we all get ready. We head over to the Planters house and Anne goes and helps HopPop.
"Ok no boom shrooms this time please HopPop." Anne says.
"But it's important." He says and I laughed at this.
"Hey where is Polly?" Marcy asked.
"She's in her workshop, she should be coming-."
"GUYS, GUYS, GUYS!" we hear Polly yell as she comes into the house.
"You ok dude?" Marcy asked.
"Yes, actually I'm great because I found something that will blow your minds." She says as she placed a book on the table and I look at it.
"It's Lilly Planters journal and look." She says as she opened the book and we read it.
"Holy crud is this?" Marcy asked.
"Yes, we can make a portal for you guys to travel back home, I started working on it a few days ago, I should have it done in about two weeks." She says excited and I read the book more.
"See I told you we would find a way." Anne says and I nod as I keep reading. I had to make sure there were no flaws in the whole plan.
"There is nothing wrong, I triple checked everything." Polly says and I look to her and nod a bit.
"Sorry I Just… Ok what do we need to do?" I asked.
"I'm going to try and improve it but I have everything I need, if you want you can help me build it." She says and I nod a bit.
"Ok yea I can help." I say.
"I'll help too." Marcy says and I smiled to her. We all got ready for dinner and we talked about how we were going to get the new portal working, plus I had to plan out where we were going to put the new corresponding building and Anne made some points too.
"Well, is that a ring I see?" Sprig says and I coughed a bit.
"A ring?" HopPop and Polly asked as they look to Anne.
"Yea Alex made them himself." She tells them.
"Marcy, can we see yours?" HopPop asked and she nods and shows him the ring.
"Wow you did a really good job there Alex, nice touch with the gems colors too." He mentions and I nod at this.
"Aunt Marcy and Anne are getting married?" The triplets asked and I look to them and nod a bit at this.
"Can we be in the wedding?" They asked quickly and I look to Anne and Marcy as they nod.
"Of course, you guys can, actually when do we want the wedding to take place?" Anne asked.
"That's up to you two honestly, I'm not great with planning… well weddings." I say as I think a bit.
"Ok, well Polly said she could get the portal in about two weeks but if we all work on it might take less time?" Anne asked.
"It's best to take our time on it, so we shouldn't rush it plus if I'm upgrading it, it's best to really take my time so we don't mess up on the programing." She explained to us.
"Well, when we get it done, we should tell our parents about this before we do get married." Anne says and I nod at this.
"Well, this is going to be wonderful a toad, newt and frog wedding." HopPop says and Anne laughed a bit.
"We aren't ac… you know what, yea I have the perfect place to have the ceremony." Anne says and I smiled a bit. We all finish up dinner and I helped clean the dishes for a bit.
"So how did you propose?" Sprig asked.
"I uh… well… I freaked out and hid the rings in my chest pocket and Marcy found them so…. Yea not the best proposal." I tell him.
"Oh trust me, remember when I asked Ivy to marry me?" He asked and I chuckled.
"Yea Anne told me you were freaking out so much that you went and dived head first into the lake with the giant snake just to be afraid of something else." I say and he nods.
"Yea… but in the end I was able to ask her to marry me… even if I tripped, and flubbed up my speech." He says.
"I froze up when Anne ended up coming in the room and it was just… it was funny in all honesty." I say to him and we finished up cleaning the dishes and putting them in their spots. Anne and Marcy were talking with Ivy and the triplets were bouncing all over the place especially by Anne and Marcy as they asked what they were going to do in the wedding and such. I go and take a seat on the floor and one of the triplets hop onto my head and we laughed.
