(Alex's Pov)
The two weeks had passed and I was helping Marcy by bringing over the computer that Polly needed and she thanks us as Marcy gets to work on the computer. I was helping Polly putting together the portal and Anne comes over with some tea for us and I grabbed a glass.
"Thanks Anne." Polly says and I nod at this as I took a drink.
"Anytime, need me to help with anything?" Anne asked as she set the tray down on the side.
"Actually, could you hand me that hammer." I asked and she hands it to me and I get to work on the portal.
"So how are you guys?" Anne asked.
"Doing good, we're actually almost done." Polly says.
"Wait really?" She asked and I nod at this.
"Yep, just got to have Marcy put in the codes and we should be done." Polly tells her and I look to Marcy who was working on the computer.
"Yep, just tell me when you're ready." Marcy says and Polly and I finished everything up and Polly hops down and I back up.
"Alright ready to go." I say and Marcy put something in the computer and the portal opens.
"YES!" We all cheered and I chuckled a bit as we see the other side of the old storage unit from the previous one.
"Woah, how the heck." We hear and see Terri.
"Yo what up?" Marcy asked as she waves from her spot.
"How did you guys do this?" She asked and we see Mr. X as he sees us.
"Lilly Planters journal actually." I say and we look to the Planters as they give Anne a hug.
"We will be back in a few days." Anne says and I give the triplets a hug and we all go through and the portal closes behind us and I look to see other scientists looking at us in shock.
"This is amazing." Mr. X said and we nod.
"We will be back in a few days actually, right now only Polly can open the portal from her side until we can get it working here." Anne explained and Marcy was looking at their portal and was talking to Terri about how to program the computer and even gave them some notes.
"This will be great; we can get the portal working again in no time." Terri says and I look to Mr. X.
"So how did everything go back in Amphibia?" Mr. X asked.
"Well, I died and was brought back to life and we even have a house too." Anne tells him.
"Wait you died?" Terri asked and we nodded.
"That's why we haven't been back in so long, the gems were destroyed when I had to use them to destroy the moon."
"YOU DESTROYED THE MOON?!" Everyone yelled and we laughed.
"Yea but nothing bad happened, it was a fake moon to begin with basically, but yeah we're back just for a short while to visit the parents." Marcy says and I nod.
"Well, this is amazing information, ok so you'll be back in a few days so we will have everything ready, is this the only time you guys can come back?" Mr. X asked.
"No, actually we will be able to come and go as we please but right now we just want to visit Anne and Mary's parents." I explained.
"Well, this is great, mind if we take some notes?" He asked and I nod as does Anne and Marcy.
"Yea that's fine." Anne says and I nod at this. When we finished talking with them, we headed on out and Mr. X let us borrow his car and he would pick it up later. We thanked him and we go over to Anne's house and park the car. Anne hurries out to the door and Marcy and I also get out and head to the door just as Anne's parents opened the door.
"ANNE!" They yelled and hugged her like crazy and she laughed.
"Hey mom, hey dad, how have you been?" She asked.
"We've been good, what about you three?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"Great we've been helping all the people in Amphibia, and we are now working as coordinators for the frog newts and toads." Marcy says excited and I placed my hand on her back a bit and she smiled at me then looked to Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy.
"That's wonderful, come in." Mr. Boonchuy says and we all walk in and take a seat on the couch.
"What has happened in Amphibia all those years ago?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"Well… I died, but it's fine, I'm ok, and well… the gems ended up being destroyed because I needed to use them to blow up the moon, and that's fine too, no reproductions from that, I got the offer to be the next god, which is cool and… Alex, Marcy and I have been dating too." Anne explained and they look to me and I look down a bit at this.
"That's good, at least you all are ok." Her mom says.
"And… Mom dad… we're all getting married." She says and I shut my eyes ready to be told I wasn't good enough for their daughter, or that she's making a mistake.
"Oh… my god." I hear and open my good eye and look to them.
"Our daughter is getting married?" her dad says and he looks to me and Marcy and I nod slightly.
"THIS IS GREAT!" Her mom says excited.
"You're not mad?" Anne asked.
"No, why would we be mad?" She asked and I smiled slightly.
"So, who asked and how did the proposal go?" Her dad asked.
"Alex asked and well… it was by accident I found the rings and then Anne walked in and… well Alex just held his fist out and Anne fist bumped his fist." Marcy says and I chuckled a bit.
"I didn't know, he didn't ask me to hold my hand out." Anne says and we laughed a bit at this.
"This is funny, but that was sweet." Her mom says and Anne and Marcy show them the rings.
"So, are you having the wedding here?" Her mom asked.
"Well, we aren't to sure yet, we wanted to get married in Amphibia, but we didn't think about getting married here." Anne says and I rubbed the back of my head a bit.
"Well at least let us tell the Aunties at the temple, you should come, we were going to head out there today actually." Her mom says and I look to Anne.
"Come on it wouldn't hurt." I tell her.
"Ok, yea, we can do that." Anne agreed and I smiled and placed my hand on her shoulder and she placed her hand on top of mine.
"We have some extra clothes for you three if you want to change." Her dad says and I nod at this as we all get changed. I was wearing a pair of blue jeans and red polo shirt that Mr. Boonchuy let me borrow and I walk out and see Anne and Marcy wearing light summer dresses and I smiled at them.
"We're all ready." Anne says and we head out to the van and they take us to the temple. I was tapping my legs a bit as I looked out the window as we get close to the temple. I was feeling a bit nervous and I feel Anne place her hand on my hand and I look to her and then Marcy placed her hand on top of mine and look to her.
"It's going to be ok Alex, they'll love you, trust me." Anne says.
"I know but it's still nerve racking you know." I joked and I looked to the front of the van and cleared my throat.
"It's ok, trust us, the Aunties are going to love you and Marcy, they're going to be very excited as well." Mr. Boonchuy says and I nod at this and we finally get to the temple. I take a bit of time before Anne opened the door and we exit out and go inside the temple. There were many people here and some of the older ladies come over quickly to greet Anne.
"Oh, my goodness it's been so long Anne, how have you been?" One of the women asked.
"I've been good Auntie; oh, I'd like you to meet Alex and Marcy." She greets us and I wave a bit to her as she comes up to Marcy and I.
"Oh, my goodness you two must be Annes friend, it's so nice to meet you two." She says.
"Actually Auntie, these are my fiancés." Anne says and the woman looks to her then to us and I looked away a bit as she talked to Anne in Thai.
"คู่หมั้น? คุณกำลังจะแต่งงาน? โอ้ แอนน้อยของเราโตขึ้นแล้ว." (Fiancée? Are you getting married? Oh, our little Anne has grown up). She says.
"ใช่ ป้าได้โปรดทำตัวดีๆ หน่อย อเล็กซ์ประหม่านิดหน่อย มาร์ซีก็อาจจะเป็นเหมือนกัน." (Yes, auntie please be nice. Alex is a little nervous. Marcy might be the same). Anne says and I look to her a bit confused.
"นี่หมายความว่าเราจะได้เห็นเจ้าตัวเล็กจากคุณหรือเปล่า?" (Does this mean we'll be seeing a little one from you?). The woman asked and Anne turned red.
"What did she say?" I asked.
"Nothing." She says and turns to the woman.
"ไม่ใช่ตอนนี้คุณป้า." (Not now, Auntie.). Anne says to her lowly and the woman laughed a bit at this.
"Well let's go see the others and tell them about your engagement." The woman says and She takes Anne by the hand.
"You two should go as well, we're going to talk to the others have fun, be back here in an hour." Mrs. Boonchuy says and we nod and follow Anne. The Aunties were really excited about Anne's engagement and they asked to see the ring and Anne showed them it.
"Alex made it himself he also made Marcy's." Anne says and Marcy showed her ring as well.
"Oh, these are beautiful, are you a ring maker?" One of the Aunties asked.
"I um, no I'm not-."
"What do you do for work?"
"Yes, what do you do? Must be a good job, right?"
"I um… I work-."
"Alex use to be a commander, but he's a corresponder now." Anne says.
"A commander, oooh a military man." One Auntie says.
"And Marcy is an Adversary." Anne says and they all oohed at this.
"Such great jobs." One of the Aunties say.
"Yes, great jobs so no need to worry about me." Anne laughed a bit.
"Are the Planters going to be back soon?" Another Auntie asked.
"Yes, HopPop and the others will be back actually, he's busy with his farming right now, but don't worry." Anne tells them and I rubbed my arm a bit.
"I'm glad Anne is finally going to settle down, and with a husband and wife?" One of the older women say and I nod to them.
"Now don't go breaking her heart you hear." Another woman says and I nod again.
"Wouldn't dream of it." I say and Marcy nods as well.
"Well come, get some food, tell us about what you've been up to." One of the Aunties say and we walked around a bit looking at some of the food they had.
"สามีใหม่ของคุณสามารถจัดการกับอาหารรสเผ็ดได้หรือไม่?" (Can your new husband handle spicy food?). One of the women asked.
"ใช่ คุณป้าเขาทำอาหารเผ็ดได้ เขาอยู่กับการทำอาหารของฉันมาห้าปีแล้ว." (Yes, Auntie he can have spicy food. He has had my cooking for five years.). Anne replied back and I look to them.
"ฉันแค่สงสัย ไม่อยากให้เขาปวดท้อง." (I was just wondered I didn't want him to have a stomach ache.). The Auntie says.
"ไม่เป็นไร เขาสบายดี เชื่อฉัน." (It's okay, he's fine, believe me.). Anne says and I look to her then to Marcy who was smiling a bit and I rubbed my neck a bit.
"Don't worry they aren't saying anything bad." Marcy says.
"I wish I listened more when Polly and Anne were talking in Thai." I mutter a bit as I look to the food stand and Marcy laughed. We ate some of the food and I really liked the noodles they had.
"That's Pad Kee Mao." One of the women say and I tilt my head a bit.
"Drunken Noodles I think." Marcy says.
"Wait there's-."
"No, no it got its name because it's good for after drinking with friends. Or at least I think that's one of the many ways it's presented, I'll have to look into it." Marcy says and I nod at this and continue eating the noodles.
"I'll look into it too." I say with my mouth full and she laughed a bit at this. I guess I had something on my face because Marcy grabbed a napkin and wiped it a bit.
"So Alex, what made you want to propose to Anne?" One of the women asked and I clear my throat a bit as I swallowed the food.
"I mean, we've been friends for years and she's a wonderful woman, and Marcy too, they helped me so much as well, they've been so nice to me even after what… I've been through." I explained to them. Anne came over to us and I smile at her.
"You having fun?" She asked and I nod.
"Oh, yea this is so fun Anne, why didn't you bring us here sooner?" Marcy asked as she grabbed some of my noodles and ate some.
"Well, we've been gone for a while." She says and I eat some more. We were at the hour mark and headed back over to Annes parents and I helped them with their bags.
"Would you like to stay for the fireworks tonight?" One of the men asked the Boonchuys.
"Can we stay?" Anne asked.
"Well… ok, yea we can stay for the fireworks." Her mom says and I help take the bags to the van.
"How are you liking the temple so far?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"It's amazing, everyone is so nice here." I tell her.
"I wish Anne saw it when she was younger, after she came back though she ended up realizing how important the temple was for us when she disappeared." She tells me as we walk back to the entrance of the temple.
"At least she understood, she seems to enjoy it a lot now though." I say.
"Yes she does, and I'm glad you and Marcy are having a fun time here too, will you guys try to come at least once a month?" She asked and I nod.
"Yes of course, that would be great actually, I'll see if Anne and Marcy will agree as well." I tell her and she nods.
"Thank you." She says and I go over to Anne and Marcy. We had some fun and Anne took us to one of the Thai classes and I listen in for a bit. it was fun to learn a new language, we even got to see the plays they put on and as the night came, they set off some fireworks and Anne, Marcy and I watched them in silence for a bit.
"This is really nice." Marcy says and I nod.
"So, Anne your mom asked if we could at least come visit once a month." I tell her.
"That's fine, I miss all of this." Anne tells me. When the fireworks are done, we all get back to the van and head back to Anne's parents' house. Once there we all head inside and get changed for the night and Anne went to grab some pillows and blankets. When I saw her I grabbed a pillow and blanket from her and I start to head to the living room.
"Hey where are you going?" She asked and I turn to look at her.
"The living room?" I asked.
"Why?" She asked with a bit of a laugh.
"Well… I mean… wouldn't your parents not want us in the same room?" I asked and she laughed.
"It's fine Alex, come on." She says and I follow her to her room and we get everything set up for the night. Marcy was already in the bed reading and I smirk as I hopped onto the bed and she looks to me.
"Hey there." She says and I smiled as I grabbed the book from her.
"Nerd." I say and she takes the book back and hits my shoulder.
"Hey no fighting you two." Anne says as she gets in the bed too and I smiled at her too.
"We weren't fighting, just having fun." I say and she rolled her eyes a bit and I chuckled and she kissed my cheek and I smiled at her.
"So, what are you reading there Marcy?" Anne asked and I lay back a bit.
"One of your herpetology books." She tells her and I close my eyes for a bit.
"Oh yea? You liking it so far?" She asked.
"Yea it's interesting." Marcy says and they talk for a bit.
"So did you like the temple visit?" Anne asked and I nod a bit at this.
"Yea it was really good." I mutter a bit as I start to fall asleep.
"Alright time for bed you three." We hear and I sit up.
"I wasn't doing anything." I say as I lift my hands up and I hear Mrs. Boonchuy laugh.
"It's fine Alex, but if you do-."
"MOM!" Anne yelled and her mom laughs again as she exits out the room and I rubbed my head a bit as I lay back down putting my hand to my face as I groan a bit and I bet my face was really red at this point.
"Oh god." Anne says and Marcy laughed at this and I chuckled a bit as I move my hands down.
"That was eventful." Marcy says and I sighed a bit.
"That was embarrassing, wait till we have to talk to your parents." Anne says to her and I sit back up.
"No, we will not be doing that, I'm going to go on the couch." I say as I grabbed my pillow.
"No, it's fine Alex, her mom was just joking." Marcy says.
"Yes, she was just joking." Anne says and I look at her and take a breath.
"But you have to admit, it was pretty funny." Marcy says and I place my hand to my face.
"I want to die." I mutter and cover my face with my pillow.
"Oh, come on it's ok, it's not like we were going to do that." Anne says and I groan again. They laughed a bit and I take my pillow and lay on the floor.
"Alex."
"No, I'm laying on the floor." I tell them and I feel a blanket on me and I look up to them.
"If you want to come back to the bed there is plenty of room." Anne says and I nod a bit at this. I ended up falling asleep and when I did wake up, I was still on the floor so I get up but I see Anne and Marcy had come down on the floor with me during the night. I rubbed my face a bit and looked around from where I was and I yawned a bit.
"Morning." I hear and look to Anne and smiled a bit.
"You two laid on the floor?" I asked and she nods.
"Yea we couldn't sleep without you in the bed." She tells me and I looked down a bit.
"Sorry I just." I stopped and sighed.
"I get it we shouldn't have kept joking about it, and we're sorry." She says and Marcy mumbles in her sleep and we both look to her.
"Well, I'm going to help mom with breakfast." Anne says and I nod and I get up and make sure to cover Marcy up with my blanket.
"I'll come help." I say and she nods as we go down the stairs and help her mom with breakfast.
"Did you sleep well?" Her mom asked.
"Mom." Anne says and I look to them.
"What? I'm expecting grandkids but not until after you're married." She says and I turn red.
"Mom, we haven't done any of that." Anne says and she looks red too. I look to the ground a bit and work on the food.
"Alright, alright I'll stop with joking about that." Her mom laughed a bit and I rubbed the back of my head.
"Are you going to see Marcy's parents? They moved back to town last year." She tells us and I look to her.
"Well, that makes things easy and yes we are going to see Marcy's parents." Anne tells her and I look to them.
"What about… Your parents Alex?" She asked and I look back to the food.
"Just my dad and stepmom… maybe, I'm not to sure." I say as I finished up and put the food to the side.
"You know your dad has been calling and asking about you." She tells me and I look at her.
"He has?" I asked and she nods.
"Yes, he's been wondering how you have been and if you'd be back." She tells me and I look to Anne.
"We will visit him after we visit Marcy's parents." I say and she nods to me and Marcy comes down the stairs and puts her head on Anne's back.
"Why didn't you two wake me up?" She asked.
"You need your sleep Mar-Mar." Anne says.
"But I want to help." She says and I chuckled a bit and patted her back a bit.
"It's fine Marcy." I tell her and she looks to me and I smiled at her and she smiled back. We all got seated for breakfast we ate and chatted for a bit. Mrs. Boonchuy told Marcy about her parents and when we finished up, I helped with the dishes with Marcy and I splash her a bit and she laughed a little. When we finished, we all went to get changed and I look over to Anne and Marcy as they come up to me.
"Ready to head out? Mom and Dad are letting us borrow the van." Anne says and I nod as we head out. I take a seat in the back and Anne drives us to the house.
"You, ok?" Marcy asked and I nod.
"Yea totally fine." I say and wave her off and I look out the window.
"You sure?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea not worried at all." I say and we finally get to the house and we step out the van and head to the front door. Marcy knocks on the door and her mom opened the door.
"Marcy." She says and gives her a hug.
"How have you been?" She asked as she lets us come in the house.
"We've been fine mom actually we have a surprise for you and dad." Marcy tells her as we take a seat.
"Oh, so do we." Her mom says.
"Well… Alex, Anne and I… are getting married." Marcy says.
"WHAT?!" We hear her dad yell and I look up to see him looking at us.
"Marcy this is a big step-."
"We know it is but we want this." Marcy says.
"But to two people? That's not even legal." Her mom says.
"Well, we aren't getting married here so there is no problem." Marcy says and I look to her parents.
"But… wait I'm not understanding any of this, you're getting married but not here?" Her dad asked.
"Well yea, we're going to get married in Amphibia so problem solved there." Marcy tells them.
"Look, if you're not going to be supportive you don't have to talk to me ever again, I love Anne and Alex and we are getting married, I don't care." She tells them.
"No we are supportive it's just… it's a bit of a shock." Her dad says to us as he takes a seat next to his wife.
"So how are you going to have this wedding?" Her mom asked.
"Well like we said we're getting married in Amphibia, not like we can get married here anyway, but we aren't really sure just yet." Anne explained. I stayed quiet through the whole time they talked to each other, not like I had anything to say.
"Well make sure to take lots of photos, we have to show the other members of the family." Her dad tells her and I nod a bit at this.
"So, what was the surprise you had?" Marcy asked them.
"Well-."
"Mom Dad I'm home." We hear and look to the door and see a girl walk in and she looked to all of us.
"Oh, hello um… who are they?" The girl asked as she pointed to us.
"Oh Milly, this is Alex, Anne and your sister Marcy." Her dad says.
"SISTER?!" Marcy yelled and I look to her.
"Oh, um… nice to meet you." She says and waved a bit to Marcy who waved back just a bit.
"It's nice to meet you too." Marcy says.
"So, is it true that you helped save the world?" Milly asked as she comes over and takes a seat next to Marcy.
"Well so did other people, Anne and Alex here helped, and our other friends are in a different world." She explained.
"Wait another world?" Milly asked and we all nod.
"Oh yea, it's amazing, it's a place called Amphibia." Marcy says and starts to explain our home to Milly. She did look interested in what Marcy was saying.
"So, wait what did you two do there?" She asked as she looked to us and I clear my throat a bit.
"Well, I was trying to find these two to try and find a way back home." Anne says.
"And I was… busy." I say.
"Doing what?" She asked.
"I uh… well-."
"He was also trying to find us a way home, and helping the toads." Marcy says and I nod quickly.
"I thought he was possessed by a hive mind?" Her dad says.
"Dad-."
"Woah hold on a hive mind? You got to tell me about that." Milly says.
"I… we… um." Both Marcy and I say as we look to each other a bit worried.
"I don't think right now is the time to ask-."
"But wasn't that part of what happened when those things came to our world?" Marcy's mom asked.
"Yea I heard that he was working with that hivemind, well when they said it was all a movie promotion gone wrong but now that I know it's real I just have to know." Milly says and I get up.
"I need some air." I say and walk out the front door.
"What's wrong with him?" I could hear.
"Look we don't like to bring that… part of our past up, and… it was a scary time for all of us, especially Alex and I." Marcy says and I take a seat on the porch swing and place my hands to my face as I tried to breath. It was getting harder and harder for me to breath even as I take deep breaths. I feel a hand on my shoulder and quickly turn to see Anne as she looked to me worried and she pulls my head to her chest and rubbed my head gently.
"It's ok... just copy me." She says and I tried my best. She starts to hum a bit and I still tried to copy her breathing.
"I'm…. I don't know… why now?" I asked panicking even more.
"It's ok, just work on calming down a bit ok." Anne tells me and I hear the door open and I see Marcy and I look down as I breathed in a bit.
"Can you get him something to drink?" I hear and then it becomes distant sounds to me. I couldn't even hear Anne's heart beating and I gripped at something, just to make sure she was still here with me. I shut my eyes tightly and I keep my grip on Anne's shirt not caring if it got wrinkled or hell even stretched or tone, I just needed to know she was still here and then I feel a hand on my leg and my eyes shoot open and I see Marcy. She looks worried and I swallow a bit as I look down.
"Hey, you fell asleep." She says and I look up a bit and I let go of Anne's shirt.
"I… must have… I don't know why it got to me." I mutter as I sit up and look to them.
"It's fine, it's hard to get over it." Marcy says.
"How do you deal with it?" I asked her.
"Oh, trust me, I was freaking out internally when she asked about them… was it cause of what she asked?" Marcy asked me and I shrugged my shoulders a bit and she hands me the water.
"I wasn't… I wasn't working with them, I was… I wasn't." I mutter a bit.
"We know… look Marcy's parents made Milly go study we can say bye to them and head back to my parents." Anne says and I shake my head a bit.
"No, I just… I just need a breather is all, you two can still talk to them, I'll be back inside soon." I tell them.
"Are you sure about that?" Marcy asked and I nod.
"Yea, don't make me spoil the mood, I'll be fine… I'll come in and apologize in a bit." I tell them and they look to each other.
"We can stay for an hour, ok?" Marcy says and I shake my head.
"No, it's fine I swear… I shouldn't even be having these anyway." I tried to joke but they didn't laugh at it and I sighed.
"It's fine I promise you guys." I tell them and they look to each other. They then looked to me and I smile a bit at them and they look at each other than to me.
"Alright, but if we need to go home just pull on the end of my shirt ok?" Anne says and I nod as Marcy goes back inside the house and I look to Anne who stayed with me a bit longer.
"You can go in, I'm fine." I say and rubbed the back of my head.
"I just want to be sure is all." She tells me and I sighed and took a drink of the water.
"There all good." I say and smile at her and she still looks to me.
"We can talk more on this later ok?" She asked and I nod a bit at this. She gets up and pats me on the back gently and I nod and look to the ground a bit. I'm not sure how long I had been out here for but I get up and bring the cup inside the house and to the kitchen. I go over to see Anne and Marcy talking with Mr. and Mrs. Wu and I go take a seat with them.
"Are you ok?" Mr. Wu asked and I nod.
"Yea, sorry about… leaving." I tell them.
"It's fine, Milly just likes to ask a lot of questions and sometimes doesn't know when to stop." Mr. Wu says. I nod again and keep my head down. I look to Anne's shirt a bit and then back to the floor as they keep talking to each other. I hear footsteps come to the living room and I look up a bit to see Milly. I don't know why but I lightly grabbed Anne's shirt and tugged it a bit and she looks at me.
"Alright, we have to be heading out now." Anne says and we all get up.
"Oh, it's alright when will you be back?" Marcy's mom asked.
"We will be back next month, actually we will be coming back at least once every month." Marcy tells them.
"Oh that's wonderful, well we will see you three soon." Mr. Wu says and I nod at this.
"Wait before you go." Milly says and I look to Anne.
"I'm sorry if my question sounded rude in anyway, I just… I just ask a lot of questions and sometimes I don't really think about what I ask." She says and I look to the side.
"Hey it's fine, um, we will talk about that the next time we come back." Marcy tells her.
"Again, I'm sorry." Milly says and I nod and we head out the house.
"Are you ok Alex?" Marcy asked and I nodded at this.
"Yea just… I didn't want to… be asked anymore questions." I say to her and she nods.
"I get it, but thank you for letting me talk more with my parents, also they invited us for dinner the next time we come visit." Marcy says and I nod at this.
"Don't worry, Milly won't ask any questions about… the core." Anne says and I nod as we get in the van. I sat in the back and Anne drives to her parents' house. I stay in the van for a bit and I lay my head on the window.
"Oh no." I hear and look up to see my mom's car.
"What the hell." I mutter and we get out the car.
"Hello Alex." She says and I look to her.
"Mom." I say.
"Hello Mrs…. um." Marcy says.
"Waybright, still Waybright." She says and I look down a bit and I rubbed my neck a bit.
"Where's dad?" I asked her.
"Oh, he's with his new family couldn't bother to come." She tells me. I shake my head.
"Look I don't want to talk to you right now, not without dad." I tell her.
"Don't be like that." She says and I shake my head.
"I want to talk to you and dad… together." I tell her.
"Alright fine I'll try and get your father not like he will show up." She says and I get pissed off.
"HE SHOWED UP UNLIKE YOU!" I yelled at her. She looked at me shocked.
"You will not talk to me like that young lady." She says and I get even more pissed off and I clench my hand into fists.
"Alex don't." Marcy says and I feel hands on my shoulders.
"Do not call him that." Anne says and I look to her.
"Doesn't matter." She says and I glare at her.
"Marcy, you and Alex go inside." Anne says.
"Oh hell no." Marcy says and I look to her.
"You are not going to treat Alex like this, I can easily call his dad myself because we know damn well you won't, now why are you really here?" Marcy asked and I look to my mom.
"I just want to talk to Sasha-."
"Alex." Anne says and I rubbed my head a bit.
"Look I want to talk to Dad and you, not just you alone." I tell her and she rolls her eyes.
"You didn't even ask me how I was, you didn't fucking say 'Hey son, how are you, haven't seen you in so long', fifteen fucking years you bitch." I tell her getting pissed off.
"I did wonder how you have been, I mean look at you." She says and I look to her.
"The hell is that supposed to mean?" Anne asked and I stopped her.
"Don't-."
"No, she isn't going to treat you like this." She tells me.
"It's fine." I say.
"No it's not fine at all." Marcy says and I sighed a bit and looked to my mom.
"I will call dad and we can meet up somewhere." I tell her then look to Anne and Marcy.
"Fine, tomorrow my house." She says and hands me a paper with her address and I take it. She then leaves and I look to Anne and Marcy again.
"You, ok?" Anne asked and I nod.
"Yes, I'm fine, can we go inside please?" I asked and we all head inside the house.
"Who was that?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.
"Alex's mom, fucking bitch." Anne says.
"ANNE!" Her mom yelled.
"Well, she is mom."
"ฉันรู้ แต่อย่าใช้คำหยาบคายแบบนั้น." (I know, but don't use rude words like that.).
"เธอเป็นผู้หญิงเลวที่เธอเรียกอเล็กซ์ว่าผู้หญิง ทำไมเธอถึงรับไม่ได้ที่เขาเป็น." (She's such a bitch that she calls Alex a girl. Why can't she accept who he is?). Anne says back to her.
"ฟังนะ เราค่อยคุยกันเรื่องนี้ทีหลังก็ได้ ตกลงไหม? ฉันเข้าใจว่าคุณอารมณ์เสียเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้-." (Look, we can talk about this later, okay? I understand you're upset about this-.).
"No mom, she probably want's something from this anyway, Alex you aren't going to meet up with her." Anne says.
"Yes I am." I tell her.
"What? Why?" Marcy asked and I look to her.
"Look, I get it my mom is… a bitch and all but I still need to talk to her and dad." I tell them.
"You can just talk to your dad, your mom never cared." Anne says.
"I know that but maybe we can have at least one civil conversation, if she wants nothing to do with me after the conversation then fine, but I want her to know that I'm happy with or without her, besides, I… kind of want to rub it in her face that… I'm going to be happily married with two wives who love me back." I tell them. They looked to me as we stayed quiet a bit and I sighed a bit at this.
"This is… if it will help you-."
"It will trust me, besides I still get to talk to my dad anyway." I tell them.
"Alright… but we will be with you." Marcy says and I nod.
"That's fine." I tell them.
"Ok we have this settled, let's make some dinner." Mr. Boonchuy says.
"Dad." Anne says and rolls her eyes at him as she goes to help them. I go over to Mrs. Boonchuy who was looking at some mail.
"Um… Mrs. Boonchuy?" I asked and she looked to me.
"Oh yes Alex, how are you?" She asked.
"I'm ok and you?" I asked.
"I am fine as well… but are you really ok?" She asked and I rubbed the back of my head.
"Do you… ehem well I mean… is… am I doing the right thing?" I asked.
"I think it's ok for you to talk to your parents, both of them… but I get why Anne and Marcy are a bit protective of you." She explained and I sigh a bit.
"But like you said, if you mom doesn't accept you then you are showing her that you can be happy with or without her, but I also understand that you would like to talk to your father as well." She says and I nod.
"I think it's ok, but a bit worried for you too." She says as she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry for making you worry." I tell her.
"No it's fine, I've known you since you were little, you and Marcy are like my children and well you will be in the family." She tells me and I look to the side then to her and smile a bit.
"Thanks for talking with me."
"Of course, anytime you want to talk to me you can." She tells me and I nod.
"Hey dinners ready." Anne says and we all head into the kitchen to eat. When we finished dinner Anne Marcy and I went to Anne's room and we get changed and I take my shirt off. I feel a hand on my back and I turn my head a bit to see Anne and I turn to look at her.
"What's up?" I asked and she looked to me.
"Are you sure you want to talk with her?" She asked and I nod at this.
"I know you and Marcy are worried about me, but you'll be there so it's going to be ok." I tell her.
"Yea but your mom-."
"I know Marcy, I know, she's a bitch and doesn't deserve to even have a conversation with me and know that we are going to be married, but I'd like to try something with her." I tell her.
"I understand but I just… I hate her."
"Hey hate is a strong word there Marcy." Anne says.
"Well I do, she doesn't even deserve to know about us getting married, and even if she does say she's ok with it, I don't want her near our kids, what… what if she does the same thing to them?" Marcy asked and I smile and kissed her cheek.
"She won't, I promise I'd never let her do that to our kids." I tell her.
"She'd never see the kids anyway." Anne mutters and I chuckled at this.
"Well that's fair, look, I'm just going to talk to her, if she says anything bad then we will just leave and talk to my dad alone." I tell them.
"Alright that's fine." Marcy says and we all go lay in the bed. We lay there for a while and I Marcy lays her head on my chest again and I kissed her head and looked to Anne who looked to me then to Marcy. Anne and I stayed quiet for a bit so Marcy could fall asleep and I look to her and rubbed the back of her head and then looked back to Anne.
"I love you." I tell her and she looked to me.
"I love you and Marcy very much, I'm sorry if I don't say it a lot or enough but… I just want you two to know that." I say quietly.
"Love you too." We hear Marcy mumble and I kissed her head.
"Love you too Alex." Anne says and I smile a little. I feel Anne rub my chest a bit and I laughed a little and she looks to me.
"You good there?" She asked as she smiled.
"Yea it just… tickles a little." I laughed a bit and she smiles at me.
"Is Alex ticklish?" She asked.
"No."
"Yes."
"Nuh-uh." I say.
"You are." Marcy says and I chuckled at this.
"Get some sleep." Marcy says as she patted my chest a bit and I nod.
"Alright." Anne says and I close my eyes. I don't know why I had to have this dream, why it happened but it was the same thing, the Core was in control of my body and I couldn't stop it. I could hear it as it mocked me. Taunted me, making me feel like shit over and over and I couldn't stop it. My eyes shoot open and I look around the room a bit and sit up.
"Hmm, you, ok?" I hear and look to see Marcy rubbing her eye and I nod.
"Yea just."
"You're sweating like crazy, was it a bad dream?" I hear and look to Anne.
"I'm fine I promise just… got to get up." I say as I move out the bed and head to the bathroom. I fill the sink with some cold water and I splashed it on my face and I look at myself in the mirror and I look at my eye and it was red and I back up.
"HOLY FUCK!" I yelled as I fell backwards and held my chest a bit.
"Alex what's wrong?" I hear and look to the door to see Anne and Marcy and I point to the mirror.
"My eye… my eye was red like… it was red." I stutter and they come over to me and I back up a bit.
"No, no." I say.
"Is everything ok here?" I hear and gripped my head a bit.
"We got it mom." Anne says and I grip my head more and I feel hands on my shoulder and I look up to see Marcy.
"Alex talk to me ok?" She asked and I nod a bit.
"Can you guys leave for a bit?" She asked and I hear the others leave.
"Anne… Anne can stay." I mutter.
"Ok." I hear and the door closes and I rubbed the side of my head a bit. I keep my head down a bit and I take some deep breaths.
"Alex?" I hear and I nod a little.
"Yea?" I asked.
"You had a nightmare?" Marcy asked and I nod a bit.
"The Core… and the mirror… my eye was red and I freaked out." I tell them.
"What happened in the dream?" Anne asked and I shake my head.
"It… it wasn't… it wasn't bad but it was scary, just scary." I tell them.
"Ok." I hear and then feel one of them rub my back and I take a minute to myself.
"I think we should head back to Amphibia." I hear and I shake my head.
"No, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? Alex maybe… maybe you should talk to someone, if you won't talk with us." Marcy says and I shake my head.
"I was just a little scared that's it." I tell them.
"I really think you should talk to someone."
"No, I'm fine see." I say and smile to them.
"Alex-."
"Why doesn't Marcy have to go?" I asked.
"I should go, I agree I should too but we are concerned about you." She says.
"Worry about yourself." I muttered.
"Pardon?" She asked.
"You should worry about yourself, on your health, stop focusing on me." I tell them.
"Alex-."
"No… I don't… I don't want anyone to worry about me right now." I tell them.
"It was a dream about the Core right?" Marcy asked and I nod a bit.
"Ok, I had a nightmare a few weeks back about the core too, you helped me with that right?" She asked.
"Anne helped too." I mutter.
"Yes, you both helped me, and I talked to you two about how I felt and what exactly I was feeling." She says and I keep silent.
"How do you feel right now?" Anne asked.
"Scared." I tell them.
"Ok… why?" Marcy asked.
"I'm scared that… that the core will come back and I… I won't be able to stop it and I know it won't come back but it scares me that it will." I say and feel the back of my head and gripped my hair a bit.
"I know it won't come back I know it won't but fuck." I mutter and shut my eyes tightly.
"Hey, I get it, I get scared thinking it'll come back, but I just keep thinking to myself that it's not going to come back, the core is gone for good, Anne made sure that it wouldn't come back, that it couldn't get you or me ever again." Marcy says.
"And even if it does, we can all work together and kick it's ass again, it can't beat us ever." Anne says and I chuckled as I looked to Anne. She smiled at me and I look to Marcy and smiled to her.
"S-Sorry for freaking out over something stupid." I tell them.
"It's not stupid at all, trust me." Anne says and I take a breath.
"You know you haven't had a nightmare in a while, was it because of Milly's question?" Marcy asked and I look to her.
"No, no it's not because of that."
"Are you sure?" She asked and I nod.
"Yes, I am sure… I think." I say second guessing myself.
"Something had to have triggered it." I hear and I sit up a bit and my back hurt a bit.
"Fuck." I mutter.
"How is your back?" Marcy asked.
"Just hurts a little." I tell her and she goes to get me some pain medicine and I get up and grabbed the pills from her. I took the medicine and I look to them.
"Alright… I think we should really get some sleep." I say and we head back to bed. When we did sleep I would still have the dream and I would wake up here and there but I wouldn't move from the bed or disrupt Anne or Marcy as they slept. I feel Anne grab my hand a bit so I grip it back a little and I would look to the window and see that it was still night time or at least early morning. The last time I woke up I didn't go back to sleep at all and I feel Marcy shift a bit and I look down to her as she sits up rubbing her eyes.
"Morning." She says.
"Moring." I reply and Anne gets up as well. We take care of everything and I call my dad asking if he could meet me at my moms house, lucky for me he said he would and I get dressed up as do Anne and Marcy. We go eat breakfast which right now was just some cereal at least for me it was.
"Would you like some coffee Alex?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked and I shook my head.
"Nah I just… want something light to eat is all." I say and she nods.
"Well, if you want some later on the pot is fresh." She says and I nod.
"Thank you." I say and finish up my food.
"I think we will take it in a travel mug mom." Anne says and I rubbed my face a bit then go and clean my bowl.
"Here you go, I made some for you and Marcy too ok Anne?" Her mom says and we grabbed the mugs. Anne takes us over to my mom's house and I glare at it a bit. I take a breath and see my dads car pull up and we all get out the van and I walk over to him.
"Alex." He says and I nod and look to the house and we head up to the front door and I knock on it.
