(Marcy's Pov)
When the door opened Alex's mother let us in and she took us to the back yard. I look to Alex as he held his arm, he seemed to be uncomfortable so I place my hand on his shoulder and he looked to me. he looked tired with bags under his eyes and I smile a little at him and he smiles back just a little. Alex, Anne and I take a seat on the outside couch and his father takes a seat in the chair.
"So… how are you son?" His dad asked.
"I'm fine, and you?" He asked.
"Fine as well." He says and they stopped talking for a bit.
"Ok look, you wanted to talk to us about something so hurry up." His mom says and I glare at her a bit.
"I uh… well I uh." Alex tried to say something but he takes a breath and looked to his mom, then back to Alex as I held his hand and Anne takes his other hand.
"I… Anne, Marcy and I are getting married." He says and a glass breaks and we look to his mom. She looked to us and I feel Alex grip my hand a bit.
"No, no, no, you are not getting married to these two." She says.
"Hey, the hell is your problem?" His dad asked.
"Look she is not-."
"He, that is our son you are talking about."
"I HAVE A DAUGHTER NOT THIS THING!" She gestured to Alex and I was about to stand up but Alex stopped me. I look to him and he smiled at me a bit then he looked to his mom.
"I just wanted you and dad to know that I will be getting married and I really don't give two fucks about you anymore." He says.
"Don't use that language with me young lady."
"Sure, whatever anyway, dad we will be back next month to see you-."
"No, no again I am not allowing you to get married to these two." His mom says.
"Well, that's not really up to you, I asked them and they said yes."
"It's illegal in the u-." She was cut off by Alex laughing and both Anne and I look at him.
"We aren't getting married here, I wouldn't even want you to be in the wedding anyway so don't worry." He says.
"Wait what?" She asked.
"What? You thought I was going to invite you?" He asked her.
"Well I am your mother."
"So?" He asked.
"I'm supposed to be in important parts of your life." She tells him and I was getting a bit mad at this.
"Oh really now? Why would I want you at our wedding? You've done nothing but belittle me for what I want to do with my life, you're doing it now, I love Anne and Marcy and we want to be together, I just wanted you to know, plus you were just saying how I shouldn't marry Anne and Marcy." He tells them.
"You don't understand, it's just… strange." She says to him.
"How the hell is it strange? Wives cheat on husbands, and husbands cheat on wives and still stay together." Anne says to her.
"Are you saying I cheated on my husband?" She asked and Alex laughs a little bit.
"No I'm just making a point, someone in a marriage goes and cheats on their spouse with someone else but stays with both people, least we know about each other and we all agree that it's ok for all three of us to be together." Anne says.
"You're to young to understand any of this." His mom says and I see his dad shaking his head.
"I forbid-."
"I'm in my twenties, you never cared about me, I'm marrying Anne and Marcy, and I don't care what you have to say or think about it, grow up and stop acting like an entitled bitch just because you can't have it your way, I love Anne and Marcy." He says.
"Alex." His days says.
"No, it's true, she is a bitch, and needs to grow the hell up." Alex says and I look to him.
"Get the hell out." She says and Alex stands up.
"You're just mad because I'm fucking right, you're a bitch that won't grow the help up and you can't get your way." He tells her.
"Alex, I think you need to stop." Anne says and I nod.
"No, fuck her." He says.
"Son, we need to go." His dad says and I grabbed his arm.
"You are the worst child a parent could have, you complained every time I got you some nice dresses, or make-up-."
"I HATED THAT BUT YOU DIDN'T CARE TO LISTEN!" Alex yelled at her.
"You never cared how I felt." His mom says.
"How you fucking felt? For fuck sake you never asked how I feel but I'm supposed to ask you how you feel? Talk to a fucking therapist for that shit, I was a fucking kid, it's not my god damn job to worry about how you feel when it comes to me and how I want to be happy, you are supposed to help me not the other way around." Alex tells her and I grabbed his arm.
"You never even fucking knew how desperate I was to be who I want, I had to talk to Anne and Marcy and they fucking helped me more than you." He tells her.
"Of course they would, they just wanted-."
"THEY NEVER WANTED ANYTHING FROM ME!" He yelled at her.
"Alex-."
"You shut it." His mom tells me.
"Excuse me?" Anne says and I look to her then back to Alex's mom.
"I said for her to shut it, she has no idea what it's like to be a mother who has to deal with this." She says.
"For your information, it doesn't matter if I have a kid or not but I would never treat my kids like this." I tell her and she glares at me.
"All you kids these days aren't thinking about how us parents feel, you're just a bunch of softies that have no idea what real struggles are." She says.
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE WENT THROUGH!" Alex yelled at her.
"Oh, you had a good life as a kid."
"I HAD TO GROW UP FASTER THAN YOU BITCH, YOU THINK IT WAS ALL RAINBOWS AND SUNSHINES WHERE I WAS? NO, YOU DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK THAT I WAS MISSING FOR TEN GOD DAMN YEARS!" He yelled at her.
"You think I didn't care?" She asked.
"If you cared you would have been with dad the day I…" He stopped talking and looked to me a bit then to the ground.
"You, didn't care that day but at least dad did." He tells her.
"You had a good childhood; you are still just confused is all." She tells him.
"Confused? I'm not confused I know what I want, you don't even know me, you never knew me at all, even when I was… you just never fucking knew me, you never took the time to know me, and you still won't, I thought we could talk about this like adults but you're just making it about yourself." Alex says to her.
"You act as if I made your life a living hell, I gave you everything you wanted." She tells him.
"No, you didn't, when he asked to wear a suit to your brothers wedding, you told him no and that he better wear a dress or he won't be able to go, and when he wanted to play football or hell baseball you told him he could just be a cheerleader or fucking pom squad, you never let him have fun, I had to take him to the god damn batting cages just so he could let off some steam and feel happy for once." Mr. Waybright says to his ex.
"Look I'm just saying they had a good childhood." His mom says.
"The hell I did, you wanted me to be the perfect little girl, but I'm not a fucking girl, I never was." He tells her and I try to calm him down as does Anne.
"Please stop arguing, this is getting nowhere." Mr. Waybright says.
"Oh, shut it, you are the reason Sasha turned out like this, you never told her no, you never disciplined her." His mom says.
"Alex, his name is Alex, and I was being a supportive father to his son." He tells her.
"Oh, here we go again, look we had a daughter not a son, so what?" She says.
"No, we never had a daughter, we have a fine young man as our son, who has two loving partners that love him as well, why can't you see that? You forced him to be something he isn't, you made him go into fucking… beauty pageants and cheerleading, so fucking what if he wanted to play football and get dirty? Kids are kids." He tells her and she glared at him.
"Do you know how that makes me feel?" She asked him.
"How you fucking feel?" Mr. Waybright says and we look at him.
"I didn't ask to have a child like this, disrespectful, ungrateful-."
"GET OVER YOURSELF!" Anne yelled.
"Ok everyone calm down right now." I say.
"Get the hell out of my house right now before I call the cops." His mom says.
"Gladly." Alex says as he heads out the door and we follow him. He heads over to the van and gets in slamming the door.
"I am so sorry about his mother." We hear and look to Mr. Waybright.
"It's fine, but… look let's go to my parents restaurant and all of us can talk, he really wanted to talk to you anyway." Anne says and I nod.
"Alright that's fine." He says and we head over to our vehicles and head to Anne's family restaurant.
"Alex, your dad wants to talk with you so we're going to my parents' restaurant if that's ok." Anne says.
"That's fine just… sorry I'm just tired." He says.
"It's fine." I tell him and I look behind to see Alex laying his head on the window. I look to Anne who was looking in the rearview mirror and then to the road. We finally get to the restaurant and I look to see Alex had fallen asleep and I look to Anne who looked to him then to me.
"After this he's going to get some sleep." She says and I nod as we wake him up gently. When he did wake up we headed inside and saw Anne's parents.
"How did it go?" Mr. Boonchuy asked.
"Well, she threatened to call the cops on us." Anne says.
"What why?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked worried.
"Because I called her out on being a bitch." Alex says as he takes a seat and lays his head on the table.
"He's tired too, sorry." I say.
"No need to be sorry." She says and Mr. Waybright comes in. He goes over to Alex and rubbed his back a bit and I look to Anne.
"Come on, let's just talk with Mr. Waybright and try to cheer Alex up." I say and she nods at this. We head over to the two and Alex smiled at us.
"Hey, dad was just telling me about my brother." He says.
"Oh, how is he?" I asked.
"He's doing fine, starting his junior year in high school actually." Mr. Waybright says and I nod at his.
"Sorry about my mom." Alex says.
"No need to be sorry, she's never going to get out of her way of thinking, but who cares." I tell him and he nods a bit at this.
"Alright, now I want to know about this wedding, you're having it in the other world?" His dad asked and we nodded.
"Yea, we may have a ceremony over at the temple, I think the Aunties will love that." Anne says as she shoulder shoves Alex who smiled and he looked to me.
"Yea they would love that." He says and I look to Mr. Waybright.
"Well, if there is anything you need for the wedding just ask, even if I can't be there to see it-."
"You can come… I mean you don't have to but you can come." I say and Alex looked to me a bit and I nod.
"Oh I wouldn't want to be a bother, I don't even know if Alex's stepmom would be ok with the idea of seeing giant frogs that could talk." He says and Alex laughed.
"Oh, or giant spiders, ladybugs, Herons that eat anything in sight that's meat, or killer tomatoes." Alex listed off.
"Killer tomatoes?" His dad asked and Alex nodded.
"They are delicious though, I've had one… ok well we got eaten by one but we ate our way out." Anne says and we laughed.
"You… ok yea I don't think your brother should go, he's want that as a pet." Mr. Waybright says and Alex laughed more.
"Come on, actually let me bring him for the rest of summer, that way I can get to know him more." Alex offered and he looked to us.
"Actually, that would be great, we can even bring Milly too." Anne suggested and I nod.
"I uh… well ok if you're all ok with it, I can bring him over when you guys are about to leave." He says and Alex nods.
"Great now that we have that figured out, I'm getting hungry." Alex says and we laughed a bit and Anne gets up and so does Alex as they go to her parents and I look to Mr. Waybright.
"I'm glad Alex has you and Anne." He tells me and I smiled a bit.
"Thanks, he's a great man, he's been through a lot." I say.
"I… I wish I was there for him, he… his mom just made everything so hard and I couldn't take him because his mom made me look bad to the judge." He explained.
"He still looks up to you, you're his dad." I tell him.
"I know but sometimes I wish he didn't, I wasn't a great dad to him."
"Are you kidding? He was worried last night that he might have looked bad to you with what happened with the invasion, he thought you'd be angry with him or that you would be disappointed in him." I explained to him.
"Oh god, I would never be disappointed in him." He says.
"I know but he needs to hear it from you." I tell him and he nods. We get our food and Alex takes a seat next to me and hands me my food. When we finished eating Alex went with his dad to his car and they talked for a bit and I look to Anne.
"Well, this is going to be interesting." She says and I nod.
"Yea… I better go call my parents and ask if Milly could come." I say.
"Oh, right I didn't think about that." She says and I laughed a little. I go and make the call and they say that it is ok but we would have to bring her back our next visit which was ok. when I finish up Alex comes back in and comes over to us.
"I told my dad when we were leaving so he's going to bring Haden over." He tells us and we nod. We go about our day and the week passes us by and we had had fun while we were back home I also made sure that Anne got the tomato seeds for the garden, We had Haden and Milly with us and Alex was talking with them as the portal opened up so we head on through to meet up with Polly and Sprig.
"AUNT ANNE, MAR-MAR, UNCLE ALEX!" We hear and Alex is tackled by the triplets and we laughed at this.
"Ahh, no I have been vanquished." Alex jokes and I helped him up as the triplets hop off him.
"Aunt Mar-Mar, when will our legs come in?" One of them asked and I think a bit.
"Give or take three more months." I say.
"Who are these two?" One of the little one asked as Alex wiped the dirt off his shirt.
"Oh, this is my brother Haden, and Marcy's sister Milly." Alex tells them and I nod a bit at this.
"Woah, talking frogs, this is so cool." Haden says.
"Wait till you meet the toads." Alex says.
"Toads too?" Milly asked.
"And Newts, oh I have to go tell Olivia and Yunan that we're back." I say as we head out the workshop.
"So how was the visit?" Sprig asked as he came up to us.
"It went great, oh this is Haden and Milly, Alex's brother and Marcy's sister." Anne says.
"Hello, I'm Sprig Planter, welcome to Amphibia, lest you didn't get lost like these three." Sprig says.
"We didn't get lost we were teleported here, and one of us got locked up." I say as I look to Alex.
"Hey, least I didn't break my leg the first day here." He responded.
"Well let's just say we didn't get hunted down by the town like Anne." I say as we look to her and she shrugged.
"Eh, that's Wartwood for ya." She says as she gives Sprig a high five.
"WARTWOOD, WARTOOD!" They cheered as they headed into the house and I hear Alex laughing.
"So, Haden I'm going to take you to meet Grime." Alex says as he and Haden go to Grimes house.
"Alright, let's go find Olivia and Yunan." I say as Milly and I head over into the town to Olivia and Yunan's home. I knock on the door and Olivia opens it.
"Marcy, how are you?" She says and gives me a hug and I hugged her back.
"Hey Olivia, I'm doing fine, also this is my sister Milly." I introduced.
"Sister? But I thought you were an only child?" She asked.
"Oh, she is, blood related, I'm adopted." Milly says.
"Oh, I hope I wasn't rude."
"No, no, not at all it's not rude at all ma'am." Milly says.
"Well, how long are you staying here for?" Olivia asked.
"Only for a month." Milly tells her and I nod.
"Oh well we hope you enjoy it here in Amphiba, Marcy you should come back to Newtopia with us, Marcy helped rebuild the city, she's so smart and a wonderful daughter." Olivia says and I smiled at this.
"Really now?" Milly says and I nod.
"Yea I'm the advisor for Newtopia, well have been for a while now." I say.
"Yea fifteen years." We hear and I see Yunan.
"Hey Yunan, how are you?" I asked.
"Doing swell Master Marcy, and who is this?" Yunan asked.
"This is Marcy's sister Milly." Olivia says and we head inside the house and Olivia made some tea for us.
"So has Master Marcy told you about the time she sat in Andria's pocket when she first got here." Olivia says and I laughed a little awkward.
"Yes, after she broke her leg too." Yunan says and I laugh again.
"Ok, no more of that-."
"No, she didn't." Milly says.
"Well, it's a funny story you see-."
"Hey let's talk about how Yunan was the youngest newt to ascend to general." I say.
"Ohhh, no we aren't going to do that not anymore." Olivia says just as Yunan was about to do her speech.
"Aww, well it's true anyway." Yunan says and I smiled a bit as we drink the tea.
"Oh, this is wonderful, did you make this yourself?" Milly asked.
"I got it from Felicia she's known for her teas, you should take her to the Sundew inn one day Marcy." Olivia tells me and I nod.
"Olivia is more of a… juice person." I say and we laughed a bit.
"So, what are Anne and Alex doing?" Yunan asked.
"Well Alex took his brother to go meet Grime, and Anne is with the planters right now probably showing HopPop the tomato seeds she has so we don't have to find killer tomato plants." I tell them.
"Oh, that would be amazing." Yunan says and we talk for a while.
"How did your parents react to your engagement?" Olivia asked.
"Oh, they were fine with it, a bit shocked but supportive, Anne's parents are ok as well, we even met her aunties at the temple and they were so excited for it… Alex's mom on the other hand wasn't so supportive." I tell them.
"What? I thought she would be-."
"No, no she's the worse mother ever, she tried to make it about herself." I tell them.
"Why would a mother do that to their own child though?" Yunan asked.
"Lots of people in our world do that, she's not the only person." Milly says.
"WHAT?!" Olivia yells and I look to her.
"Does that not happen here?" Milly asked.
"No, not at all that's just horrible to do that to your own child." Yunan says a bit shocked.
"Wow this place is more progressive than our world." Milly says.
"Well it's even more progressive since Marcy, Alex and Anne came, Toads Newts and Frogs never really got along till they came." Olivia says.
"Oh, I have to know about this." Milly says and Olivia and Yunan explain all that has happened and I finish up my tea.
"So, when is the wedding?" Olivia asked.
"We were thinking sometime around next year in the summer time but we aren't to sure just yet." I tell them and we all talk about how we can get the wedding planned out, we hear some crashes outside and Anne and Sprig yelling so we head out to see that yet again a giant snake was after them.
"WE JUST WANTED TO SWIM!" Sprig yelled and I see the triplets as they chased the snake.
"ADVENTURE!" They yelled and we laughed.
"Oh my god are you going to help them?" Milly asked.
"Nah, this is pretty normal for Anne and Sprig." I say to her.
"But they could get hurt." She says.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" We hear and look to see Alex and Haden.
"DAMN IT ANNE!" Alex yelled as he went to help them.
"Ok maybe they might need some help." I say as I go follow Alex.
"How the hell does Anne and Sprig get into this situation?" Alex asked as we set up a trap for the snake.
"WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!" Anne yelled and I couldn't help but laugh a little at this. Alex was able to get to the snake and hop on it's back to wrangle it a bit and I and I was able to set the trap making the snake fall into the pit as Alex jumped off it's back and next to me.
"Well, that was easy…. How do we get the snake back though?" Alex asked as he looked to it in the pit and Anne comes over to us panting.
"We didn't do anything wrong; we just went to swim in the lake." She says.
"Yea, the snake just hates us." Sprig says.
"Awww we wanted an adventure." One of the triplets say.
"No that was dangerous." I say.
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" Haden yelled as he comes over to us and Milly does too.
"Come on what did you guys do?" Alex asked.
"Nothing, we just went to the lake and didn't read the warning sign… again." Sprig says and I look to them.
"Ok, well now that, that is settled we still have to get the snake back to the lake." I tell them.
"Alright we got this." Anne says and it took us a while to get the snake to the lake it was eventful to say and once the snake was back we all head back to the town.
"Ok I think we're done for the night." Alex says and we say bye to Olivia and Yunan, we head to our house and Milly along with Haden were in shock with the house as we walk in.
"So, wait, you guys basically run this entire continent?" Haden asked.
"Well, no, we just help everyone out when they need it, Alex works with the Toads, Anne works with the frogs and I work with the Newts." I tell them.
"So, you aren't in charge but are in charge?" Haden asked.
"I uh… well I suppose." Alex says.
"Anyway, I can make dinner for everyone so go wash up your hands." Anne says and Alex and I go and help her with dinner.
"Alex hold on don't put that in yet." I hear as I cut up the vegetables.
"What? Why? It's not going to hurt anything." Alex says and I turn to see him trying to put the noodles in the pot.
"It's not boiling yet." Anne tells him.
"I've done this plenty of times before, it still tastes the same." He tells her.
"Hey, my kitchen my rules, wait till the water boils then put it in." Anne says.
"Ok fine, how about I make the sauce." He says.
"I got the vegetables ready." I say as I bring them over.
"Marcy tell Alex he has to wait for the water to boil." Anne says.
"It doesn't change the taste." He says and I laughed.
"Look Alex do things Anne's way and we will all be good; you love her cooking right?" I asked.
"Well… yea." He says.
"Then cook it her way." I say.
"But it won't change the taste." He says.
"Come on, it won't hurt." I say and he groans.
"Fine." He says and I smiled and he helps me with the sauce.
"So how was Haden when he met Grime?" I asked.
"Oh, Grime likes him, we were thinking about taking Haden on our annual trip to the red island." He says.
"Wait isn't that a bit much?" Anne asked.
"No, not at all." He says.
"Red island has all those Herons and man-eating bugs though." I say and he stopped what he was doing and thought a bit.
"Damn it might be to much for him… well we can train him, no problem." He says.
"Alex, I don't think you should be taking him to do something so dangerous." I say as I place my hand on his shoulder.
"It's not going to be bad, plus he was all for it, we have rules too." He explained.
"We know you wouldn't let anything bad happen to him but I don't think you should be taking him to a dangerus island." Anne tells him.
"I get what you are saying but come on, he's got Grime and me looking out for him." He says and I sighed.
"How about you do that the next time you and Grime go." I suggest.
"Aww but he was looking forward to going." Alex says.
"We know but don't you think he should have more training under his belt before you take him to Red Island?" I asked.
"Sure but, he won't get much training here." He says.
"Yea but it's better than nothing." Alex says and Anne places her utensils on the counter.
"Hey Alex, want to spar for a bit?" She asked him and he looks to her.
"Wait really?" He asked getting excited.
"Yea why not?" She asked.
"Who's sparing?" We hear and Alex runs out the room.
"Alex and I are going to spar for a bit, dinner will be fine I have it set on low for now." Anne says as she goes to follow Alex and I look to the two teenagers.
"Is this an everyday thing here?" Milly asked and I shook my head.
"Nah they just started this, but we can go watch." I say as I hear the door open out in the back and we head out to see Alex holding his swords and Anne holding her own sword.
"Though it won't be as intense since we don't have our powers." I say.
"Who cares, I want to see what Anne's got." Alex says as he gets ready.
"We can set a wager?" Anne asked.
"Sure, why not, I'm going to win anyway." Alex tells her.
"How about if one of us loses we can't kiss Marcy for a week." Anne says.
"That sounds like a punishment for me." I say.
"Nah you'll still get kisses from me don't worry Mar-Mar." Alex says.
"Hey she's going to be the judge, stop flirting." Anne says and Alex stuck his tongue out at her.
"Alright let's go." Alex says and they start fighting. It was an interesting fight; Alex was great with blocking Anne's blows.
"Come on Anne you can hit harder than that." Alex taunted him and Anne backed up a bit.
"Nah I'm just going easy on you old man." Anne taunted back.
"Hey I am not old, we're the same-." Alex stopped when Anne pointed the sword at Alex chest an he looked to her.
"Gotcha." Anne says.
"Two out of three." Alex says and they keep fighting. Throughout the fight neither of them were able to land a blow and I headed back inside to check on the food. When it was good, I went back out to see they were still blocking each other's blows and I look to Haden and Milly who looked to be interested in the spar.
"GO ALEX GO!" Haden yells.
"GET HIM ANNE!" Milly yelled and I laughed a little and looked to my partners.
"Ok, I think your spar is over." I say as I go up to them and the stop. Both of them panting and sweating and they look at me.
"Ok who won?" Anne asked.
"Both of you, now go get showered and changed you both stink." I say and pat their backs.
"She means I win." Alex says.
"No, I still had one point over you." Anne tells him.
"Only 'cause you cheated." Alex says as they both go in the house and argue over who won. When they finished cleaning up and changed we all had dinner and Haden asked Alex about how he got so good with swords and Milly asked Anne about the food she made. When we all finished dinner, we took Haden and Milly to what was supposed to be our rooms but we decided to make them guest rooms. Then we went to our room and I laid in the bed as Anne and Alex still argued.
"I still think I won; I mean I am a way better swordman." Alex says.
"I still had that one point though, honor it old man." She says.
"We are the same age Anne, you calling yourself old?" Alex asked and I laughed a bit at this.
"Ok you two bickering nancies time for bed." I tell them.
"Come on Mar-Mar you know I won." Alex says.
"No, I won, didn't I Marcy?" Anne asked as they get in bed.
"Both of you won, now I demand my kisses from both of you." I tell them and they do kiss me and I smiled at this.
"I still won." Alex muttered.
"You both won Alex." I say and kissed his cheek and he looked to me then to Anne.
"Fine." He says and lays back on the bed. I smiled at him and grabbed his face and kissed him on the lips and he kissed me back.
"Hey I want Mar-Mar kisses too." Anne says and I smiled and I lean over and kissed her as well. We all lay in the bed and I place my head on Alex's chest and hear his heart beating softly. I feel Anne place her hand on Alex's chest and we all go to sleep.
