Chapter 51: Sig & Silvana: Mock Date by huskynator/kirbyvskirby

Sig may as well have been falling asleep during his last few classes for the last few days. No different during home economics. Professor Dapper Bones had to tap him awake with his pointing stick to get him to pay attention.

"S-Sorry." Sig apologized. He was definitely embarrassed about the tap this time.

The red-armed boy has been in a little bit of a funk ever since Lagnus and Arle got back together. Sig was hoping it was the last they'd break up.

When confronted shortly after being reminded, Sig just brushes it off. None of his friends wanted to push him on the subject. It's awkward to talk about.

(Un)fortunately, Sig's got a friend who's got the qualifications to just confront him about it whenever recess finally comes…

Silvana caught Sig and took him to the shady side of the school for a one-on-one chat. She sighed. "Sig." Her hands were pressed together and she slowly descended them in height as her sentence continued. "Is there something you need to tell me?" The beanie-wearing girl asked.

"Wha… You took me here."

"Sig… I saw you eyeing Arle again." She tried to say patiently.

"…" The half-human fidgeted, looking at the ground differently than normal.

"You can tell me, Sig. It's obvious you got the hots for Arle. You can't fool me."

"I… I-I wonder about me and… Arle. Y'know…" He had no coherent words. "I thought Lag and her were really done this time…"

Silv tried to mute her groan. "You and me both…"

"It's unfair." Sig lamented. "I don't wanna hurt Lag's feelings. But if I ask Arle too soon…" Sig winched, giving Silv a rare glance at his teeth. "And by the time I'm ready, Lagnus says he's gonna try again… And I'm not gonna stop him…"

"Not that you can stop him." She should know. "He's really smitten by her…" Silv clenched her teeth feeling sorry for him. And for Sig for that matter, as ill-advised as she thinks it is.

Not like she can't relate to daydreaming about being on a date but just hasn't had the chance yet.

"Ungh…" Silvana bit her lip. She got an idea, and they both might regret it if she laid it out there… But it might be worth it if they're both on board. "So, Sig, be honest. I know you're trying to move on. But you still wanna date her badly at least once, right?"

It took Sig half-a-minute to respond. "Please don't scold me." Silvana felt a little offended at that reaction, offended and a little guilty.

"I won't." She simply stated. The boy shyly nodded. "Then how about I'll just give you what you want just this one time?"

"A date with Arle?" He was peeved at himself that he responded that quickly. Silv had a morbid chuckle.

"Yes, and no. You get to date Arle without all the embarrassment of dating Arle. You get a sample."

"Uuuuuuuhm… How?"

Silvana raised her index finger and pushed it close to Sig's face. Putting her beanie in her pocket, turned around, did… something, and when she turned again she had Arle's eyes, she used her free hand to replicate her sister's ponytail on top. It's a little longer than her sisters, but there was a very strong resemblance.

"Oh. I forgot you were twins."

"Hehe, mission accomplished." Silv fist-pumped. "Are you picking up what I'm implying here though?" She said as she put her red-colored contacts back in, and the beanie back on her head.

"You wanna date me?"

"Uh. Yes, but I'm this more for you, and I just wanna remain friends with you. I just realized that I've set myself up for a lot of mixed signals…" She facepalmed and slowly rubbed her hand down her face. "I'll play the role of Arle, and you pretend I'm Arle."

"..."

"Again, I don't want a serious relationship. In general." The girl clarified. "And if you just can't do it, or don't like dating Arle, I'll drop the act. You got a taste if you like it or not, and we'll just have some fun whether you did or not."

"…" Sig was trying to think about it. "!" Silv put her hand on his shoulder while he was deep in thought.

"Message me, after school if you're interested in the mock date. Text me something like: "Hey, Arle (who's single)" and ask me(/Arle) out. Or if you just wanna hang out with li'l old me. I'd like that too. It's been a while."

"It has."

"…"

"…"

"…Well see ya in class, Sig. Don't worry. I feel awkward as &*%# too!"

That was relieving. Sig spent the rest of the day thinking about the offer.

Silvana was thinking about it as well. 'You really did it, Silv. I asked someone out on a date. Even if you have to be Arle to have it…' It riled her up a little. 'Screw it. It's a big moment. I get to experience a date first hand~ Oh, I hope Sig goes through with it~ I get to help him out and scare him off from Arle.' She grinned.

In his room, Sig stared at his contacts lists in between daydreaming about what they could do for a date with "Arle".

His heart was filled with envy seeing Lagnus and Arle at their best. There is somewhere between the two on a good day. And wanted something like that. Or at least know what it's like…

His face is red from embarrassment.

Real date or not. Real Arle or not, it's a bit much for him to think about.

Not to mention it'll get awkward if he slips up that he had a date with "Arle" to his friends…

His mind started slipping, fantasizing being at the zoo or something with Arle. A day where just the two of- Sig slapped himself out of it. He needs to let Arle go...

Meanwhile, the Nadja household

Silvana and Arle each thanked their mom for dinner and went upstairs to eat it in their rooms. Silvana gave Arle the stink-eye, and Arle gave her a look of 'So are you gonna tell me what I did wrong, or…?' And then Silv non-verbally replied in an agitated fashion.

Silv made herself comfortable in her room. She put on some headphones and listened to some music to calm her nerves as she ate.

Suddenly her phone vibrated in her pocket. She got a text from Sig. Her heart thumped. "We're really doing this, huh."

Sig Neroni: Uh r u busy this friday? Wanna hang out Arle?

'WHO ARE YOU CALLIN' AR!-' Silv backspaced the mess she was typing. She forgot.

Silv Nadja: Oh! Sure Sig :) It's been a while since it was just us.
Sig Neroni: Last week

Silvana chuckled.

Silv Nadja: Oopsie ;p
Silv Nadja: Whatever it is, Friday would work out great. Mom and Silv [and by Silv I mean real Arle] are out of town for a few days.
Sig Neroni: Cool
Silv Nadja: Sooo where do you wanna go?

Seems like Sig took his time thinking about it.

Silv Nadja: How about that new curry restaurant in rural Primp? . (Whistles)
Sig Neroni: Yeh sounds good
Silv Nadja: Hey since I just dumped Lagnus, how about we make it a date as well? ;)

Silv felt Sig needed that extra push.

It took him several minutes to respond. As much as Silv doesn't want anyone dating the real Arle. This seeming nervousness she found precious, it made her smile.

Sig Neroni: Id like that
Silv Nadja: Then it's a date ;p

Meanwhile, at Sig's…

The boy smiled while his face was red from embarrassment.

Sig Neroni: When?

They discussed when. A few days from now. Weekend.

Silv Nadja: Wrote it down. Looking forward to it ;p
Sig Neroni: Yay

Sig was happy.

Silv Nadja: [Good job, Sig. Next time maybe be a little more proactive in asking someone out. Real Arle wouldn't nudge you in this direction.]

'More proactive?' Sig lowered his phone-holding arm so it's lying on the bed beside him. He thought to himself staring at the ceiling. Not sure what to think about what just happened or "Arle's" latest words.

"Hey, babe! Let's go to the mov-" He couldn't finish that.

The next day during some free time at school, Sig, Lagnus, and Marvett sat in the commons room.

The three were watching a video on Lagnus' phone. It's a recording of a place he and Arle went on a date on. Sharing a taste of the scenery with his friends.

"Interesting place to take a date to." Marvett commented.

"Tell me about it." Lagnus nervously chuckled. "But we'd had fun."

"Arle more than you?" Marvett hid her intention in a dull tone.

Lagnus' face almost looked like he ate a lemon just now. "Hmmmrgh…" He wasn't gonna answer that.

"Just ask her out to some place you wanna go." Rabbie pulled out the tablet so Marvett could procrastinate.

"I'll think about it." Lagnus lied.

Sig just quietly listened. He had his upcoming date on his brain. He pretended to be in Lagnus' place to get a feel for it. It made him nervous having Lagnus display what it might be like.

"…ig. Sig!"

"Huh?!" Sig reacted to Lagnus' shaking him awake.

"[Something Something] date." The cyan-haired boy heard.

"What about my date?" He scratched his head with his normal hand.

"…Date?"
"Date?" Lagnus and Marvett had small but curious reactions.

"You got a date, Sig?" Lagnus followed up, a hint of happiness for his friend.

"Um…" Sig stammered. Hoping for no extra follow-up questions.

"With who?" Marvett dared.

His flustered head made Sig answer honestly. "Silv."

Lagnus, Marvett, and Rabbie's bodies were thrown a little back in shock. "Really?" Marvett tilted her head.

"You're dating a lesbian?" Lagnus said in a tone of disbelief.

"Uhh… Yeah." Sig nodded.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

"You do know what a lesbian is, right?"

"I know what a lesbian is, Lag." Sig replied a little annoyed.

"Does Silv know?" Marvett giggled at her own joke, almost sleep-deprived-like.

"Yeah, Uuuhh…" Sig tried to make things clear while also trying to have his dear friends back off. "It's less of a date and more… uh…" Scratched his head trying to come up with a word that frustratingly escaped him a moment.

Rabbie spoke, to which Marvett relayed what he was saying. "Just a two-person get-together?"

"Yeah!" Sig nodded twice. "Thanks, Marv. It's been a while since we've hung out." Referring to Silvana.

"Same." Marvett said. "Outside school at least. It's kinda what happens when you get a job I guess."

"Well have fun, Sig." Lagnus said earnestly to Sig. "Hopefully she won't talk about Arle all night." He chuckled out of guilt.

"…Same… Also please don't talk about this. Not sure if Silv wants people to know." Sig sure doesn't.

"Sure."
"'Kay."

"So… Heheheh. Are you two going out for subs on your date?"

"Shut up." Sig now hoped that curry place had subs.

"Anything interesting happen, Raf?" Silvana asked while the two sat underneath the school gazebo in the shade, waiting for School to begin.

"I bought a new one." Rafisol let a small husky peek out of her bag. It wore a handkerchief on its little head.

"Hi, li'l guy/gal." Rafisol made the small plush wave back. "Is this your 15th one?" Of this specific husky.

"12th." Rafisol's said with a very faint smile on her face. "I call her Buccaneer. I had a handkerchief I thought I could make it wear on her head this time."

"Looks cute enough." Silvana said to keep Rafisol's spirits high. Though she honestly did find her liking for these kinda cute. Especially since she didn't really show interest in much else.

"Silv."

"Whassup?"

"I wanna hang out with you again."

"Cool." Silv pulled out her calendar app. "When do you want to? I got my whole weekend booked."

"With what?"

"My job and a pretend date with someone I think wants to remain anonymous."

"Y-You're going on a date?" Rafisol didn't see that coming.

"Just a pretend one. Both of us haven't ever dated, and we're both curious about what it's like."

"There's no such thing as a "pretend" date." Rafisol asserted in her usual stoic tone.

Silv thought about that. "…Nah, I don't think so, it's my first date, but it isn't."

"Be careful, Silv." Rafisol pleaded.

"I told him I didn't wanna pursue it further than this one date. I'm not worried, neither should you."

'…"Him"…' "…"

"It's just a boy, Raf…" Silv rolled her eyes. "So when do you wanna meet up?" Silvana proposed a few dates to hang out. Rafisol lied and said she was busy on those days.

She regretted that.

"Heya, Sig." Silv greeted him as normal like it was nothing at school.

Sig was so nervous. He's gonna share a table with her! "'sup."

Silvana looked to the surrounding area. She then walked closer to Sig. "I know I'm usually against it. But you better treat me as if you would her." That wasn't a threat, but it sure felt like it. "'Kay?" That sounded a bit more cheery.

"'Kay." Sig agreed.

"Cool, see ya, around. Or earlier if you just wanna talk as friends." She said knowing that at the moment is a loaded statement. "Try to not act differently around me please."

"I'll try." Sig nodded.

Silvana just now realized she may have made a mistake making things so awkward between her and Sig… "Remember, if it gets too awkward it's just us two hanging out."

"Yeah." Sig nodded once again.

"Don't think about it too much."

It was the day of the mock date. Silvana's family was out of town, and she spent her morning preparing for her meeting Sig.

"Phone, purse, public transport card, my contacts in their case he wants to opt-out." She laid everything out on her bed.

She raided Arle's closet for suitable dresses for a date. Silvana was surprised to find three fancy dresses in there. One fancy dress? Big deal. Silvana has one too in case she needs it. But Arle is just as practicality-focused in clothing shopping as Silvana and she has three.

"Guess she likes him enough…" Silv felt her blood pressure rise. It made things worse for her.

She slapped her face a few times. "This is no time to be angry, Silv…" The girl looked at the full body mirror on her closet's sliding doors.

And in the mirror, Arle gave Silvana a stinkface. She was her spitting image of her sister.

Mission accomplished.

It annoyed her a little, but this was her fault anyway. She tried to relax her face muscles. Now she really looked like Arle. Back to a frown.

Her phone made a notification. It didn't rumble, so it wasn't a message, but her head reactionarily turned towards the device anyway. And back to the mirror. And back to the phone. And back to the mirror. And back to the phone…

Silvana cackled…

Sig spent his morning thinking of what to say. He drew a blank, but not for a lack of trying.

Nervousness got to him. And his blushing face.

Instead he got to dressing himself properly.

White shirt. Black cotton vest zipped open. Box of chocolates. Pants.

Perfect.

Oh, wait. He tied the strings of his vest's hood into a bow.

Dapper as frick!

This was the most heart-thumping bus ride Sig has had ever, and nothing really happened on the ride to rural Primp City. But the mere notion of his "first" "date" made him feel like his heart was about to explode.

He sincerely hoped he didn't mess anything up. Certainly had a hunch that it would go awry… That he was gonna say and do the wrong thing.

The random people on this bus saw this red-armed boy shiver and shake with his face being 100% neutral and were weirded out. Sig was weirded out by them giving him funny looks.

A slow twenty minutes passed until Sig arrived at one of Rural Primp's bus stops. The spacey boy almost forgot to press the stop button. As he stepped out of the bus the evening's chilly embrace crept beneath his clothes. He wanted to find this curry place asap. This exceeded his cold tolerance.

It was a beautiful night though. Sig hoped there was a glass roof or something like that…

"Thanks again for treating me to dinner, Sig." Arle smiled lovingly into Sig's eyes. "Shame about the lack of an open roof though. That would've made this date picture perfect."

Sig sighed in agreement. "Yeah… I'm sorry." He said while chewing.

"No biggie, I'm having a great time, Sig. Wanna be my boyfriend?" Arle batted her eyelashes as she leaned in closer from the other side of the table.

Sig got nervous the more she closed in… "Uh um…"

"Madam, table 4." Arle suddenly sounded like the waiter Sig spoke to about 30 minutes ago.

"Hiya, Sig!" Sig snapped out of his daydream, a little stunned Arle put on a dress. Dream Arle was dressed normally, just less sweaty.

"H-Hey."

"So~ What were you daydreaming about?~" She cheekily asked as she got comfortable.

'Don't tell the truth, Sig…' "Boobs."

"Wuzzat?" Arle got distracted by all the curry options on the menu.

"Bugs."

"Ah. Caught any interesting ones recently?"

"No." Sig picked up the menu.

"Any reason why?"

"I've been spending a lot of time with friends and redoing homework. Not really much time to go to the forest to spend time with bugs."

"Oh, but spending time with friends can't be a waste of time, right?" Arle said, still holding the menu.

"No. I really like spending time with you."

"Snrk." That caught Sig off-guard, he was wondering if he had said anything was wrong. "And I thought what I said was cheesy. Hehehe."

"I didn't mean to…"

"I know it's the best kind." The girl snickered. She noticed the waiter walk up to her.

"What can I do for you?" He pulled out his notebook to write down the order. The teens ordered what they wanted. Arle chose a big, luxurious, spicy curry. Sig's curry was modest and mild. "Any drinks in the meantime?"

"Water please."

"More milk." Sig asked, lifting his empty glass.

"It shall be done." The waiter nodded and walked off.

Arle rubbed her hands. "Best cheat day~"

"You're cheating right now?" Sig tilted his head.

"What?! I mean kinda, on Lagnus, bu-"

"I forgot. A break in diet?"

"Yeah. I usually eat curry on my cheat days. I love this stuff~"

Sig smiled at the joy on Arle's face… 'Wait… Is this Silv?'

The two just chatted until the food was done. This is a restaurant, this takes a long while. "…What do you think of Lag?" Sig felt really guilty asking that.

"He's annoying and clingy. Can't take me dumping him. What a piece of trash." Arle formed a bored pose at the table.

"…" That was unnecessarily harsh, Sig thought of something along those lines.

"But I'm sure our date will go great. Lagnus doesn't wanna drop his hobbies to watch me train. You would, right?" She said without any irony.

"Um…" Sig took a sip from his glass of milk. "Sure?..."

"Cool." Arle gulped her water. "Wanna play two truths and a lie?"

"Sure?"

"I don't know, you sure don't sound sure. Are you sure you wanna play?" She said a little demanding.

"Yeah." The boy nodded his head.

"You first. Two truths and a lie."

Sig took his time thinking about it.

"C'mon, tell me." Arle kept bugging him.

"Uh… I'm adopted. I can walk in a straight line. I finished my homework."

"Hahaha. Easy; you can't walk in a straight line." She literally pointed and laughed.

Sig moaned a little on the inside. It hurt a little more than he's used to because Arle was saying it. He quietly sipped some more milk.

"So whaddya wanna do on a second date?"

"We haven't start-"

"Because I got a few ideas of what we could do." Arle pulled out her phone and scrolled unbelievably far down a list. Sig couldn't read it all. But what he did read sounded like he'd wake up sore the next morning.

"I was thinking we could go to the gym for 3 hours, or jog for 20 kilometers, or go hike that big mountain behind the school, or go canoeing for 10 kilometers, or go watch that awful movie, been meaning to do that, go biking to Suzuran and back, or OR! How about we go swimming? Or maybe we could suple-"

"Swimming sounds nice."

"Oh! I'm dying for a 1600 meter swim!" She looked so pumped.

"Oh. Umm… What else do you want to do?" Sig politely asked.

"What." It was a cutting what. It cut through Sig's natural stoicism, making him wince. "Swimming is not good enough for you now?"

"I didn't say-"

"Sure sounds like it though." Her harsh tone continued. "What? Don't like working out? Don't you like the things I like?!" She yelled without attracting attention from the other tables.

"N-No it's not like that."

"Ya gotta support your girlfriend if you wanna take a relationship seriously. Take relationship seriously ya gotta give or else I gotta dump-'

"STOP!" Sig shivered, a tear dropped into his milk. Taking the girl back a little. "Puh-please… Don't talk like that… I-I can't… take it…"

"Oh..." Her voice got a little deeper. "Did I overdo it?" It was Silv's voice showing concern.

"I…" Sig tried to hold it together. "Don't like being yelled at…" He admitted while remembering it was actually Silvana.

"I had no idea." She gritted. "Do you need a- Screw it, we're friends, I'm hugging whether you say yes or no." She scooted over to Sig's side. They both felt better when her moderately strong arms wrapped around him. "Hopefully you don't hate me now." Sig could hear her guilt in her quiet voice. He could hear and feel a quiet but nervous chuckle from her. "I've been told I'm a good actress."

"Too good." Sig didn't spend any time thinking about it, he just said it at record speed for him.

"Sorry about that…" She patted his back. "What has six limbs, a sense of style, and must always go through the door first?"

"What? Uh… A ladybug!" Sig happily exclaimed.

"Hehehe. What do you call a bug who's a stickler for rules?"

"A queen ant?"

"A walking stick up the ass."

Sig snrk'd. Silv felt from his breathing cycle that he was laughing way harder than he seemed.

Silvana smiled. "Feeling better?"

"Yeah."

"Good~" She gave Sig a tap on his back and broke off the hug and sat back where she sat before. "Heh. Your face is red."

"Is it." Sig scratched his head.

"Yeah. Never let a girl hug you before?" She teased.

"Mom, Marvett, Hilda, two random girls on the street wouldn't stop making fun of my arm, taking selfies, laughing at it-"

"What." The girl in a blue dress frowned and cut him off. "Lemme guess. They were full humans, right?"

"You know them?" The guy in a hoodie asked.

"Probably not. But it's an easy assumption. I don't see demi-humans or creatures making fun of your arm like that." Sig didn't notice, but Silvana frumpled her face. 'What am I saying? Of course they would…(?)' Silv grinned nervously.

Sig just stared at his crimson, overgrown, claw-like appendage. A thing he just tends to tune out most of the time in the hopes everyone else does…

"Excuse me." The currently orange-haired girl injected. "My phone is rumbling a ton." She pointed to her device. Sig could quietly hear it rumble too. "I'm gonna chat with Rafisol for a bit so I can remind her that I'm going out."

"'Kay."

Silv gave a thumbs up. As she looked it over. Smiled and chuckled a bit. Showed Sig a few of the photos and meme edits of her plushies.

"Yeah. I'm. Fine. Raf." She mumbled out loud on purpose. "Gonna. Be. A. F. K. K? Cute. Doggies. As. Usual." Silv showed Sig some more huskies. "C. Ya." The school athlete touched her phone a few more times and put it away. "There. 30+ plus messages."

"That's a lot."

"Yeah." Silvana took up her glass and drank a sip. "I'm not saying I'm her friend out of pity. But she really doesn't seem to wanna make friends besides me. You have a friend like that?"

Sig thought about it. "I don't think so. What's Rafisol like? Lag tells me a few things, but I don't see it."

"Oh, Rafi's just a really sweet sheltered kid underneath her face." Silvana giggled. "She's like the sister I've never had."

"You're dressed li-"

"Never. had."

"But y-"

"No buts except for mine!" Silv growled. "We're not twins! My hair is red, my eyes are red, and my voice is deeper than her's! I REALLY WORKED HARD ON THAT!" She slammed the table with both her fists.

Silvana realized what she did. Sig is retracted like a turtle. Their fellow customers looked at them funny, concerned, and or scared. A waitress walked forward. "Madam." She spoke politely. "Is this an episode? Is it gonna take much longer?"

"Eeeeeeeh…" Silv slooooowly slid off her seat in embarrassment. "Just a small little outburst. It won't happen again…"

The waitress faced Sig. "Tell us if she starts getting violent." She non-verbally told all the other customers it was alright and she was off.

"Why am I always treated like the bad guy…" Silvana softly mumbled. Feeling down on herself… "Sorry, Sig…" She said audibly.

"…I really don't like yelling…"

"S-Sorry… Um… Out of politeness… What would you've liked for a second date?" She picked up a previous conversation. "Maybe we can just do it platonically." She suggested.

Sig took his time. "A-Am I-I still pre-pretending you're Arle on these?" The boy was shaking. Something Silvana admittedly wanted… But I had second thoughts now.

"No." She reflexively said. "Sorrysorrysorry. Justushangingout! Just us hanging out! That's all."

"…I can't think of anything…"

"Shall I hold you to that?"

"Sure." Sig shrugged.

"Man, dinner always takes so long in these places." Silv looked annoyed at the kitchen entrance. "So hungry."

"I don't think you gave Arle fair treatment here…"

Silv just gave him a look. "Sig, are you a twin in the shadow of your other twin?" She tried not to get a strike 2 from the restaurant.

"No. I'm no twin."

"Then you don't know what it's like." She folded her arms and looked away from Sig, making him feel guilty. She did as well. She took a big sigh. "Look. Let's just forget about Arle. Let's enjoy ourselves."

"Sounds good."

"Imma go to the restroom to put in my red contacts. brb"

"k"

A moment later, Silv came back. "I feel more like myself with these red eyes." She definitely sounded more serene.

"They are pretty." Sig said.

"Heheheh." Silvana blushed. "Thanks. I'm hoping to get my eye and hair color permanently changed someday." Her smile was as cute as Arle's. She really is her twin. "I think I've told you that before though… I like your red eye too." She pointed at the boy on the other end of the table's singular red eye on his left.

Sig gently put his red left arm's claw underneath his red eye. "Thanks. I guess."

"Ah… Oops. Tonight's been a wreck hasn't it?" She chuckled nervously.

"Uh… Yeah."

"Well good news."

"?"

"Can't accidentally say stupid stuff with your mouth full."

"Wha?" Silvana pointed her arm in the direction of the waiter coming with a dinner plate. "Oh."

"My apologies for the wait. Bon appétit."

"Thanks. Smells great."
"Thanks."

"Oh~" Not even a second and Silvana's mouth was watering. "Ican'twaittodigin." She grabbed the spoon. She grabbed a bite faster than Sig could blink. Silv tasted, chewed, digested, and shrugged indifferently. "It's good. But I have had better."

'Iunno, tastes great to me.' Sig also shrugged.

The two enjoyed their dinner. Had some laughs. Told some jokes. Shared some stories. Neither pushed each other's buttons. It was an enjoyable ""date"".

"I'd love to order more if the prep time wasn't so long. Sheesh." Silvana complained. She and Sig split the bill and left the restaurant in a good mood.

"Was good curry though."

"Have I ever taken you to Nicholi's place?"

''I don't think so.''

"We really should go to Smile Curry together at some point then.''

As the two walked each other to the bus stop chatting about some happenings at school and other assorted stuff underneath the beautiful, but cold, night sky.

"There goes the bus." Sig observed.

"Yep…" Silv read the times the next bus arrived. "The next stinking hour. Better pull out your phone." Silvana, in annoyance, looked to her side where she spotted a dancing club. "Or…"

Sig turned to his classmate in the jacket and the nice blue dress.

"We're still technically on date. Wanna try and dance the wait time away?" She said a little sheepishly.

"Sure. Never danced before."

"I can believe that with how stiff your joints move." She chuckled. "Wanna try though?" The girl reached out her hand. "I'm not that much of a 1-2-3 dancer either. But I wanna try."

Sig without saying a word grabbed her hand with his regular human hand. And Silv grabbed his red hand with the other.

"It should go like: One. Two. Three. One. Two. Three in rhythm. And we step on time. I think. Again, not trained in waltz."

"So… One. Two. Three?"

"Yeah. Aaaaand go! One. Two-aah!" Sig fell over onto Silvana. "Owowow!"

The boy quickly got off of her. "Are you okay?" He helped her to get up off the brick ground.

She gritted her teeth, whining and hissing the pain away. "Don't worry. I stumbled harder than you falling on me ever will. Aaaaaaah… You're heavier than you look though." She laughed the pain away. "S-So cold." She talked about the ground.

"Sorry. Mom and Uncle tell me I have two left feet."

"Yeah… Yikes dancing was a baaaaaaad idea…" She held a booboo.

"Sorry."

"Don't be. If you didn't I would've. I've only taken breakdancing lessons."

"Really…? Can I see?"

"Hehe. Some other time maybe?" Silvana winked. "Even if you didn't just fall on me, I'd rip this dress doing some moves. Arle would kill me if she'd ever wear it. Heh. Got a funny video to watch?" She pointed to Sig's phone pocket.

The two alternated watching some videos and reading social media until the bus arrived.

The bus was very empty this late at night. Besides Sig and Silvana there were only one or two other people on board.

Sig and Silv decided to sit next to each other somewhere in the middle of the vehicle. It was cozy. The dim lighting, the warm air compared to the cold they've been in for an hour. It was a mood.

A mood Silvana felt comfortable and serene enough to bring it up, even if she'd rather just let the moment be… "Look Sig…" She took a big sigh. "I wish you the best of luck with pursuing anyone you want. But as someone who cares about you, don't date a Nadja... After today…"

Sig made some noise from his throat. "I'll… think about…"

"Please…" Silv said, drained. "Oh. Before I forget." She kissed Sig on the cheek. Surprising the boy. Silvana chuckled at the reaction from the usually stoic Sig. "Thank you for the date. I owe you big."

"Uh. I don't owe you anything." Sig said to be modest.

"Pffft. Nah, you owe a big favor from me. I needed the good parts of this night. This was fun, even if this kinda date isn't my style~ Maybe I should find a boyfrienuuuuurrrgh… No, no boyfriends… Don't wanna… You know…" She petered off the more she went along. Subconsciously leaned closer to Sig out of comfort.

"Yeah."

'I-I'd make a terrible girlfriend, just like Arle…' She reminded herself in her thoughts.

Sig had some thoughts himself: 'Primp's lesbian dating pool must be small.'

Both of them just enjoyed the comforting bus ride until Silvana's stop was reached. "Thanks again, Sig. What's an assassin bug called?" She asked as the door opened.

"Iunno."

"A termite-ator." She laughed quietly and waved as she stepped outside of the bus.

Sig didn't get it.

Sig lied on his bed staring at his ceiling. 'So that's what a date is sorta like…' He knew it probably wasn't the norm. Probably wasn't as much of a disaster either. It was basically just a more intimate hang out with a friend…

Sig wasn't sure what to think. He did think it was nice, though a part of him could still tell that Silv had her heart somewhere else.

A few loud notifications on Sig's phone went off. He lazily grabbed his phone.

Silv Nadja: Yo Sig! Forgot to tell you this on the bus. I mailed you something ;)
Silv Nadja: Be sure to keep it to yourself arle will kill me if she sees them X(
Silv Nadja: You can also share it with Lagnus if you want him dead
Silv Nadja: SO DON'T!

That raised a figurative eyebrow from Sig. He opened his Laptop and downloaded the you're_ file from Silvana Nadja's eMail.

Um…

It's a collection of photos of Silvana, convincingly in both appearance, and body language as Arle doing a photoshoot for ages 12 and up.

Sig doesn't know what to do with this…

Silv Nadja: Its worth it pissing off arle
Silv Nadja: wheather she knows it or not

HUSK: This was supposed to be Chapter 48. And then 50. Reminding myself more than telling you.
