Chapter 4

The next morning Angela woke with the sun and smiled remembering last night. Getting up she began her morning routine snatching the shower before Clark.

About an hour later Angela was making her way downstairs in her black yoga pants, black tank top, black sneakers, and her blue belt with her cell phone and headphones attached. Her mother was in the kitchen already as she slid a bottle of water to her and motioned her head towards the door.

Curious Angela headed outside early and was surprised to see Lex standing against the porch railing.

"Good morning my Angel,"

"Lex what are you doing here?,"

"Came to run with you, now that we are getting to know each other more I would like to spend as much time with you as possible," Lex replied as he walked up to Angela and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Smiling Angela hooked her water bottle to her belt and smiled as she began stretching for their run.

"Ready to run Angel?,"

"Yup," with just that simple answer Lex and Angela began her morning run. Starting from the farm they headed down the road, over their hill, through the cementery, and then through the cornfield ending up back at the fence to the Kent farm.

"That was...one hell...of a run," Lex panted as he bent over catching his breath as he leaned against the fence.

"I take it you don't run often,"

"Not as often as i should but if I continue to run with you then this will be a daily occurrence,"

"Well I enjoy your company Lex so I do hope you run with me every morning," Angela replied as she laid her hand on his cheek and kissed Lex.

Lex moaned at the kiss as he pulled her closer enjoying his reward for the morning. But Lex knew he had to stop it and pulling away he rested his forehead against hers and just held her.

"Angela I was wondering would you be my girlfriend?,"

"Thought I was?," Angela said laughing as she snuggled against Lex.

"Wise ass I meant officially,"

"Then yes Lex Luthor I will be your girlfriend," Angela smiled as she formally accepted it.

A half hour later Lex and Angela walked down the road towards the house and stopped at his car which was in the same place as the night before. Kissing her once more Lex got in and took off before her father could see them.

Making her way in Clark sat at the kitchen isle eating cereal. Ruffling his hair in joke she headed upstairs in a great mood and took another shower.

In The Kitchen

"Mom do I want to know what has her in such a good mood?," Martha smiled at Clark and shook her head as she set out her daughter's breakfast.

"She and you know who are dating but your father can't know," nodding Clark made the motion he would remain silent and went back to his breakfast.

Angela rejoined them a half hour later and pulled up the chair beside Clark and started eating as she smiled happier then ever but the day was still young and in their town the unexpected was now well expected at least for the Kent twins.

After the farm chores were done Clark and Angela grabbed their school bags and headed out. Before heading to school Clark and Angela stop off at the Farmer's market. As they were walking through they were stopped by Whitney.

"Hey Kent, I just wanted you to know the scarecrow incident was a joke,"

"Wasn't much of a joke when me and my boyfriend had to cut my brother down jackass,"

"I'm sorry look do you have Lana's necklace I need it back?,"

"If you want it back go talk to Lex Luthor," as Angela told Whitney where the necklace was she shoved Clark to walk around him and walked away from him. Angela was standing at a stall looking at handmade bracelets and rings when she jumped as two arms settled around her waist.

"Surprise my angel,"

"Hello again Lex this is a pleasant surprise," Angela giggled as she turned her head and kissed him.

"What has your attention so captivated baby," Lex asked peering over Angela's shoulder at the jewelry.

"I like this necklace and ring but I can only browse not buy," lex frowned at that and lifted his head and spoke to the seller.

"How much for this ring and necklace?,"

"Thirty dollars Mr Luthor cause that is real sapphires," nodding Lex pulled out his wallet and handed the cash over a shocked Angela watching the exchange.

Lex reached down and grabbed the necklace moving he clipped it around Angela's neck before taking the ring in his hand.

"My Angela consider this my promise ring to you to forever be yours," Lex said smiling as took the ring and slid it on her left hand middle finger.

"Oh Lex," Angela replied snapping out of her daze as she wrapped her arms around Lex placing a kiss upon his lips. As they celebrated their moment they were unaware Clark had left and something was about to happen.

Clark and Whitney

Clark was heading home with Jonathon and Martha thankfully they left before seeing what occurred between Angela and Lex. As they headed down the road they see Whitney's truck flipped over in the ditch.

Jumping out Clark ran towards the truck and bent down. Reaching in he reaches for Whitney's arm pulling him out of the truck. Picking him up bridal style he rushes Whitney away from the truck just as it explodes.

As Martha and Jonathon watch on they become stunned as when the smoke clears Clark is is bent over Whitney each boy unharmed.

Leaving Whitney on the side of the road after calling for help Martha and Jonathon drove away getting Clark away from the scene so his secret won't be revealed.

In The Loft

Sitting in the loft Angela sat snuggled up to Lex's side their hands clasped together just cherishing the time together. They jump as they so unaware and became startled as Clark came upstairs.

"Jesus Clark you scared the shit out of me,"

"Sorry guys didn't realize you were here,"

"It's ok so what happened after you left with mom and dad," Angela asked as she cuddled back up against Lex.

"Saved Whitney, don't know how but found him in his truck flipped over in the ditch got him out and safe with help before we came home,"

"I couldn't help but overhear your conversation earlier at the market Clark you're looking for that necklace they had on you in the cornfield?,"

"Yes, it belongs to his girlfriend and she doesn't know where it is or how he lost it,"

"I'll bring it over later when I come back, I have to go now anyways never ending meetings,"

"Aww must you?," laughing Lex kissed the tip of Angela's nose

"I must my angel I will return in a few hours,"

"Ok Lex," smiling Lex placed a sweet kiss upon her lips as he got up and headed out.

Sitting on opposite couches Clark and Angela just looked at each other and somehow they just knew today was going to be a long day with Whitney's unexplained accident as the first clue.
