Maria shows in Sookies car. She sees police cars and ambulance. She sees Sookie outside with Bill and Sam. She ran towards them.

"What happened?" Maria asked them

"Gran...she's...she's..." Sookie said as her sister cuts her off

"No. (Maria shakes her head in disbelief. She shed a tear. She turns around and seen her grandmother in a body bag. She was about to get in Andy and Bud's faces. But Sam stopped her.) Serve and protect my ass! She's gone because of you two! (Maria yells. She fell as Sam comfort her.) She's gone." Maria said

Sookie comfort her as well.

Maria was in her room crying. Her phone was ringing and she sees who's calling. It was Eric. She didn't answer it. He was at her window. She closed her door and locked it, she wiped away her tears, walked to her window and opened it.

"What are you doing here?" Maria asked Eric

"Can I come in?" Eric said

"I invite you in." Maria said

Eric crawled through her window.

"I heard your cries. What happened? Are you ok?" Eric asked Maria

"My grandmother was murdered. (Eric comfort Maria.) Can you stay here?" Maria asked Eric

"Just for a little bit." Eric said

Maria lay down on her bed and Eric lay beside her. She puts her head on his chest.

Thursday.

Everybody is at the Stackhouse Residence. Maria and her sister are in the kitchen. Maria was looking at the window upset while Sookie is sitting at the breakfast table, her back toward everybody else. Tara walks down the back of the stairwell of the kitchen. Sookie turns to greet the Maxine of the Covered Dish dressed in bright pink.

"Oh, uh...Mrs. Fortenberry, you shouldn't have." Sookie said

Maxine being melodramatically.

"I am so sorry for your loss." Maxine said

Sookie shakes her head.

"That's very kind of you. Um...Gran often talked about you, so...(Tara takes the covered dish from Maxine and walks to another part of the house.)...thank you." Sookie said

Tara is joined by Lafayette, wearing a purple tie-dye pullover shirt and black babushka. Tara turns away from Lafayette.

"Adele was an angel sent from Heaven, too good for this world. We're all gonna miss her so much." Maxine said

Sookie reads Maxine's mind.

"Excuse me?" Sookie said

She stands up and walks away from Maxine and immediately hugged by Arlene, who is crying. Maxine walked towards Maria.

"I'm sorry about..." Maxine said as Maria cuts her off

"Save your speech for terrorist." Maria said

Maria walked away and stopped by Lafayette and Tara. They both hugged her.

"We all know what you're going through." Lafayette said

The refrigerator door is opened and Sookie and Arlene turn toward it to see Maxine with a pie in her hands, peeling the plastic wrap from it. Maria looked.

"What the hell is she doing?" Maria asked them

Lafayette and Tara stopped hugging Maria as look at Maxine.

"MAXINE FORTENBERRY! YOU PUT THAT PIE DOWN RIGHT NOW! (Sookie shouts. Everyone looked at her stunned. Sookie storms toward Maxine and takes the pie from her. Astonished visitors, including Sam, peer into the kitchen from the dining room.) THIS IS GRANS PIE!" Sookie shouts

Sookie hearing their thoughts. Maria and Tara walk towards Sookie stands and escorts her from the kitchen.

"If yall excuse us...I need Sookie and Maria upstairs. (Tara, Sookie, and Maria pass the onlooking visitors.) Just give us a little girl-time. (Tara told Sam. She, Sookie, and Maria approach the front stairwell.) Come on, Lafayette!" Tara said

Tara, Sookie, Maria and Lafayette go upstairs.

Sookie's bedroom.

On Sookie's bed sits the half-finished pecan pie in a glass pie plate, wrapped in plastic. Maria sitting on Sookie's right side and Tara sitting on left side of Sookie's bed. Lafayette sits on rocking chair.

"I shouldn't have lost it like that." Sookie said

"Don't feel sorry for yelling at that snoopy old bitch. She's been stickin' her nose where it don't belong for years." Tara said

"A rude bitch." Maria said

"Say it. I mean, if she talked anymore she'd be shaped like a toilet. (Tara and Lafayette look at one another and laugh. Sookie and Maria looks at them with no discernible emotion.) I'm sorry.

"Gran's gone." Maria said

Tara and Lafayette quiet down.

"She's gone. She's really gone." Sookie said

Tara and Lafayette look downward.

"Yeah, she is." Tara said

"This sucks." Maria said

"I can't even think straight." Sookie said

"Of course you can't! You two just gotta feel what both of you are feeling." Tara said

"I'm not sure I'm...feelin' anything. I'm just numb." Sookie said

"I feel angry." Maria said

"Numb and anger is good." Tara said

"Yeah." Lafayette said

"Stop worryin' about being so damn appropriate. This is not an "appropriate" event." Tara said

"Thank you for gettin' me out of there. Haven't had a single minute of silence. Can't seem to...block anything out right now." Sookie said

"You want me to tell 'em all to shut the hell up?" Tara asked Sookie

"I wish it were that easy." Sookie said

"It is. Your wish... (Lafayette pulls out a plastic bag of pills from his pants pocket.)...is my command." Lafayette said

"Oh, no. I don't do drugs." Sookie said

"Sook. Relax! This is not drugs. This...is just a Valium. (Lafayette holds one of the pills up. Tara chuckles. Sookie says nothing.) Well, l, I tell you what: Put in on your nightstand...(Sookie takes the pill from Lafayette.)...Just in case you change your mind. I'm gonna go and check on the circlin' buzzards." Lafayette said

Lafayette gets up off the bed. Sookie has the pie in her hand.

"Lafayette?" Sookie said

"Yes, ma'am." Lafayette said

Sookie hands the pie to Lafayette.

"Would you mind...taking this downstairs?" Sookie asked Lafayette

Lafayette takes the pie from Sookie.

"I will guard it with my life." Lafayette said

Lafayette leaves the bedroom. Tara, Maria, and Sookie are laying on their fronts across the bed. Soft music playing.

"Anyone to call? Hadley?" Tara asked both Maria and Sookie

Sookie is seated on the edge of her bed.

"No one has heard from her for over a year, since she ran away from that rehab Gran paid for." Sookie said

"We don't even know how to get hold of her." Maria said

"What about Bill? You wanna invite him?" Tara asked Sookie

"Tara, he can't go." Sookie said

"Oh. Right." Tara said

"It's not like you've...known a lot of vampires. It kinda takes gettin' used to." Sookie said

Sookie reads her sister's mind.

"I came back. Everything going to hell. Dawn's dead. Grans dead." Maria thinking

Sookie hugged her sister. Jason throws open the door to Sookie's bedroom. Sookie and Maria stand up.

"Jason..." Sookie said

Jason almost slapped Sookie but Maria blocked him. She twist his arm behind his back and felt pain.

"Ow, ow, ow!" Jason said

"I don't know what's gotten into you lately. You don't pull shit like this." Maria said

"It's her fault! Gran is dead because of her." Jason said

"You tried to lay a hand on her." Maria said

"She's fucking a vampire. A fucking vampire." Jason said

"That vampire was here for her when you weren't." (Jason stares wildly at Sookie.) You oughta be ashamed of yourself." Tara said

"Did Gran raised you to beat up me or her? (Maria let her brother go.) Get out!" Maria said

"Get the hell out of here! (Tara pushes Jason out of the bedroom and closes the door. Maria looked at her sister and so did Tara. They walks over to her and she started to cry.) You OK?" Tara asked Sookie

Maria and Tara sits on the bed. Sookie reaches to the nightstand for the blue Valium pill she took from Lafayette, and puts it in her mouth.

Maria walked down the stairwell and enters the kitchen. She sees everyone gone. Lafayette and Tara stayed. They looked at dishes of food, brought (and half-eaten) by visitors. They turned around and looked at her.

"Gran wants this place to be clean. I'm gonna do it. You guys can pitch in." Maria said

Nighttime.

Lafayette sweeps the living room floor, Rose cleaning the windows, and Tara is looking out through a window. Tara picks up some plates, and approaches to Maria and Lafayette.

"Maybe we should go check on Sookie." Tara said

"Trust me. That child is dead to the world right now." Lafayette said

The front door bursts open and Bill runs upstairs with lightning speed. Tara puts down the plates she picked up, looks toward the stairwell.

"Bill?" Maria said

Maria, Tara, and Lafayette run upstairs. They enter Sookie's bedroom.

"What the hell are you doin'?" Tara asked Bill

"Wait!" Maria said to Tara

Bill shakes Sookie.

"Sookie! Sookie! Sookie! Sookie! (Sookie opens her eyes.) Soo..." Bill said

Sookie and Bill look at one another silently for a short while.

"Bill, what's wrong?" Sookie asked Bill

Bill exhales deeply.

"I thought...(smiling)...I had a dream. That's all. You go back to sleep." Bill said

"But I..." Sookie said

"Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere. (Bill and Sookie look at one another.) Go on." Bill said

Sookie turns her head and closes her eyes. She turns over onto her right side, facing away from Bill, who has his left arm around her waist. He removes his arm and kneels at the side of her bed, watching her.

Downstairs, Lafayette and Maria sits in the living room while Tara stands with her arms folded, looking out through a window at Bill, who stands in the front lawn holding a bottle of Tru Blood in his hand. Maria walks out there and approaches to Bill.

"Thank you." Maria thanking Bill

"For what?" Bill asked Maria

"You were here last night. Looking out for her. Sam was here too. You know what I mean." Maria said

"I'm sorry about your grandmother. She was kind to me." Bill said

Friday

Bontemps Cemetery

It is a sunny day for Gran's graveside service. Crows caw in the background. A woman sings the hymn "Softly And Tenderly" a capella.

"...tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, 'O sinner, come home!' (The service is well-attended. Everyone dressed in black. Several mourners fan themselves. Maria sits at Sookie's left side and Tara sits at Sookie's right side. To Tara's right sits Lafayette. Behind Tara and Lafayette sits Hoyt and his mother, Maxine. At Maria's left sits Jason. Behind Jason sit René and Arlene. Blue, pink, purple, and white flowers rest on top of Gran's closed casket. A blue bow bears the words "Beloved Grandmother". The singer has her eyes closed as she sings from a podium near the casket.) Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me. See, on the portal...(Sam is sitting behind Jason, next to Arlene, and looks off into the distance.)...He's waiting and watching... (Terry Bellefleur weeps. His cousin, Andy Bellefleur, scowls as he looks away from Terry. In front of Andy is Bud Dearborn.)...calling, 'O sinner, come home!'" Female singer

The singer closes her hymnal and steps down from the podium. A robed minister takes her place.

"Lord, we gather here today to remember the life of Adele Stackhouse. To celebrate the time that she enjoyed here on earth. (Sookie and Rose notices someone in a wheelchair being pushed along a path.) And to thank you for each precious moment..." Minister said

Sookie squeezes Tara's left hand tightly.

"Ow! Sookie, my hand." Tara said quietly

Sookie looks startled.

"Sorry...sorry." Sookie apologize

Maria feeling angry.

An elderly man is in the wheelchair. He is being pushed by Neil Jones, who pushes the wheelchair up to the left of Sam.

"...the family, the friends, the community. But even as we grieve, we shall be comforted, knowing that she is in peace now in Lord's kingdom. (Sookie stares at the elderly man. Jason greets him with a pat on the knee. Neil leaves.) And there shall not be more death..." Minister continues on

Sookie and her sister looks at the elderly man with a stern look on their faces.

"Uncle Bartlett, what are you doing here?!" Sookie asked her Uncle

Uncle Bartlett nods.

"She was my sister." Uncle Bartlett said

"You haven't been part of this family in a long time." Maria said

Sookie, Maria, and Uncle Bartlett exchange glares.

"Come on. Give the guy a break." Jason said

"...Sookie Stackhouse has prepared a few words. (Sookie and her sister stares sternly at Jason.) Honey? (Sookie realizes the minister is speaking to her.) You wanted to say a few words?" Minister asked Sookie

"I'll walk up there with you." Maria said

Sookie nods. She grabs her handbag, and both her and Maria stands up. They walks past Jason, Sam, and Uncle Bartlett to the podium. She takes a folded piece of paper from her handbag. She unfolds the piece of paper, and addresses the mourners.

"Adele Stackhouse was...everything to us. She wasn't just a grandmother. She was...a parent, a teacher, and a best friend." Sookie said

Sookie picks up some intermingled thoughts from the mourners.

"She'll be missed...just didn't cut it, 'cause...can't imagine a world without her in. She was always there, with a kind word, and a hot meal, and a shoulder to cry on. She taught us to be strong." Maria said

"SHUT UP! ALL OF YOU, JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Sookie yells

The crowd mumble among themselves. Maria takes Sookie's arm as grabs the handbag and runs away from the service. Their brother runs after them.

Sookie and her sister continues running through the cemetery.

"Sookie! Maria! (Their brother is still running after them.) Wait a minute! Just hold on a sec." Jason said

Maria and her sister stopped running and turns to face their brother, who also stops running, stopping a short distance from them.

"Go ahead, tell me it's all my fault. Tell me how you wish it were me in that coffin. I deserve it." Sookie said

"No you don't. No one should say such a thing." Maria said

"I'm sorry. (Jason tries to catch his breath. He walks up to Sookie and her sister as if he hug them.) I'm so sorry." Jason apologized

"Sorry isn't good enough. You almost hit her. What's worst is that you invited uncle Bartlett. How could you?" Maria asked her brother

"He has a right to be here! Look, I know he and Gran had their problems, but whatever they were, it don't matter no more. 'Cause that's what family does. We forgive each other." Jason said

"You have no idea of what you're talking about!" Sookie said

"Please? I mean, we're all we've got." Jason said

"Come on, Sook." Maria said

Sookie and her sister turns and runs away from their brother.

Sookie and her sister walking alone through the wooded sun-lit cemetery. Birds sing in the background. They come upon a small grave marker on the ground. It is partly covered by ivy, and has a lengthwise crack. Sookie kneels in front of it, and brushes away some of the ivy. She rears back upon reading the inscription: WILLIAM THOMAS COMPTON BELOVED HUSBAND...BRAVE SOLDIER.

Sookie and her sister stands rigidly at Gran's grave-site as Gran's casket, with a spray of pink and purple flowers on its lid, is lowered into the ground. Sam walks up behind them at Sookies right side.

"Hey." Sam said

Their eyes remain on Gran's casket.

"Hey." Sam said

"Hey." Maria said

"I was lookin' for the both of you." Sam said

"Well...you found us." Sookie said

"I liked your speech. What I heard of it, anyway. (Sookie turns her head to Sam. He looks at her. She returns her attention to Gran's casket.) I especially liked the part when you told the whole town to shut the fuck up." Sam said

"Yeah. I'm a real crowd-pleaser." Sookie said

Gran's casket has been lowered about halfway down into the grave.

"I'll walk you both home." Sam said

Sookie and her sister looks at Sam, and he holds out his left arm for Sookie and his right arm for Maria. They take it. They continue watching as Gran's casket is lowered for a short while, then turn and walk away. Maria, Sookie, and Sam walk up to the front door of the Stackhouse home. Sookie takes her keys from her handbag.

"We can watch some stupid movie on TV." Sam said

"We need to be alone." Sookie said

"Ok." Sam said

Sookie opens the screen door. She unlocks the door and enters the house and so did Maria. Maria shuts the door. They enter the kitchen. Sookie opens the refrigerator door and takes out the pecan pie made by Gran. Maria grabs a fork and sits down at the table. Sookie places the pie table and sits down as well. She removes the plastic wrap from the pie and picks up a fork. They were sharing the pie. Scooping small bites of pie onto their forks. They were starting to cry continuing to eat the pie. The empty glass pie plate sits on the kitchen table with a fork resting in it. Sookie stands up and walks, stops, turns toward the table, and turns and walks away.

"Sook?" Maria said

Sookie stopped and turned around.

"Yeah?" Sookie said

"Can I borrow your car keys?" Maria asked her sister

"Sure. (Sookie gave her sister the car keys. Maria stands up.) I'm going to Bills tonight. Where are you going?" Sookie asked her sister

"I just need to drive. Clear my mind." Maria said

Shreveport

Outside of Fantasia Maria knocks on the door. A woman opens it.

"We don't open for another hour." Woman said

"I'm Maria. You must be Ginger." Maria said

"Of course. Come on in. (Maria goes inside. Ginger closed it.) Can I get you anything?" Ginger asked Maria

"No. I'm good." Maria said

1 hour now.

"Maria?" Eric said

"Hey. You want to step out for a few?" Maria asked Eric

"I'll take care of Fantasia right now." Pam said

Bon Temps.

Stackhouse Residence.

"You already seen my room. So let me show you the rest." Maria said

Maria shows Eric the living room, the kitchen, Sookie bedroom and Grans bedroom.

"That's the whole tour." Maria said

Maria goes in her room. Eric follows. He kissed on the back of her neck. He took her dress off, in her underwear, and her eyes started to glow green. She turned around and gets his shirt off and started to kiss him on his lips. She pushed him on her bed and jumps on him. She continues to kiss him. He rolled on top of her.
