Maria's bedroom.
On the bed. Her head was on top of Eric's chest. He has his hand on her back.
"Thanks for coming with me. I couldn't deal with everything. Although grief sex can be selfish." Maria said
"It can be. But it's ok for now." Eric said
"I know you're not the relationship type. But...I really like you. You saved my life and..." Maria said as Eric cuts her off
"I like you too." Eric said
Maria looked at Eric and kissed him. Both smiled.
Saturday.
Maria woke up and heard shouting. She puts her clothes on, walked out of her room, and enter the living room.
"What the hell is going on here?" Maria asked her brother and sister
"Just taken what's half of mine." Jason said
"Those were Grans." Maria said
"A wedding present from her mother." Sookie said
"Yeah, well, I need the money." Jason said
"For what? You have a job and a house!" Maria said
"It's none of y'all's business!" Jason said
"Uhn-uh! Gran might have spoiled you rotten, but me and Rose won't! This is our house now! You put those things down and get out! (Jason looks at Sookie and Maria. He walks around both his sister's, still holding the paper sack and candlesticks. Sookie tries to take the sack from him. The sack tears open, spilling onto the hardwood floor other silver items, and a pearl necklace.) You were gonna sell her jewelry?" Sookie asked her brother
Empty-handed, Jason opens the front door and leaves.
"Dick. (Sookie cleans up some Grans candle sticks and jewelry. Maria helped her sister. She looked at her fang marks.) You went to Bill's. You're no longer a virgin. (Sookie doesn't say anything.) I'm proud of you making your own choices. Even if it is a vampire." Maria said
"Thanks, Maria. How can I have a trusting and supporting sibling like you?" Sookie asked her sister
"Actually I've been keeping something from you." Maria said
Maria explaining to her sister. Going through changes. About Eric.
"Weretigers? So you're not a werewolf?" Sookie asked her sister
"No." Maria said
"Gran saw you transform back into your human form this week?" Sookie asked her sister
"Yes." Maria said
"I wasn't the first person who met a vampire. You met Eric a year ago, he saved you from death, and you've been in contact with him ever since?" Sookie asked her sister
"Yes." Maria said
"Wait? Was he the one that was cheating you with Dawn?" Sookie asked her sister
"We weren't entirely together. But yeah it felt like that. Everyone's been doing grief sex." Maria said
"You slept with him?" Sookie asked her sister
"I still like him. But there's one more thing you should know. Vampires and the weres are forbidden to be together. A lot of vampires can never know. But I trust your Bill. He's descent." Maria said
Sookie smiles. She hold both of her sisters hands.
"No more secrets, Ok? Fresh start." Sookie said
"Ok." Maria said
Merlotte's
Sookie is wearing a green scarf tied around her neck. Sam is behind the bar, and Lafayette is cooking as Royce, Wayne, and Chuck walk in. Lafayette, takes notice of the three as they sit themselves down at a table. He leaves the kitchen and enters the dining area, and Maria walks up to him and stops him.
"Lafayette! Lafayette! This isn't the right way." Maria said
"When is there a right way?" Lafayette asked Maria
"Drunk neck. Is a stupid neck. There's other ways to pay them back." Maria said
Lafayette smiles at Maria as she thought of something devious. Terry carrying a red bus tub, walks up to Sam.
"Tara called. She ain't comin' in." Terry said
Terry leaves.
"What? Aww...hell, we're already short a waitress." Sam said
Sookie returns, walking quickly past Sam up to the kitchen window.
"Don't worry, Sam. We'll make it work." Sookie said
Sam leaves. Lafayette and Maria walked her sister Sookie.
"Well, goddamn! Look at you! All porn-a-licious. What kind of crazy mix you done and got yourself into?" Lafayette asked Sookie
Sookie has turned to face her sister and Lafayette. She smiles broadly.
"Can't I just be in a good mood without it bein' a big deal? It's a pretty night outside, and I'm glad to be enjoyin' it with my friends and my sister." Sookie said
Sookie takes another order from the window and walks past Lafayette.
"Um, hmm." Sookie said
Sookie walks past Sam, whose head turns as she walks with the food into the dining area. Maria kept serving tables. The bowl of a spoon is being heated in an open flame over the stove. A heavy black glove is worn on Lafayette's hand and holds the spoon.
Ahh! (Lafayette takes the spoon and places it in a bowl of soup sitting in the kitchen window. The heat of the spoon produces a small sizzle, and a small puff of smoke rises from the bowl of gumbo. Maria looked at Lafayette and he looked back at her. She nods at him. Terry is next to the kitchen window as he see Lafayette removing the black glove from his right hand.) Terry. Can you run that to them crackers, please?" Lafayette asked Terry
Terry takes the bowl away.
"Sure thing." Terry said
"Thank you so much." Lafayette said
Terry takes the bowl to Royce. Royce has been burned by the heated spoon in his gumbo. He drops the spoon onto the floor.
"Ahh! Goddamn it!!" Royce said
Lafayette, watching from the kitchen window, does not appear to gloat. Maria walked towards Lafayette and fist bump him.
"Nicely done." Maria said
"Many ways to pay them back." Lafayette said
Sam looks upset. Sookie turns and walks away from the table and he approaches her.
"Oh, don't go anywhere. I need two more pitchers of Bud. (Sam rips the green scarf from Sookie's neck, exposing her fang marks.) Hey, you keep your hands to yourself, Sam Merlotte! (Sookie hits Sam with her open hand and pushes him away from her.) You have no right to touch me!" Sookie said
"Oh, shit." Maria and Lafayette said
"You're a damn fool, you know that?" Sam asked Sookie
Everyone watches them.
"What I do on my own time is no concern of yours...(looking at the diners)...or any of y'all's. Yes! I had sex with Bill, and since every one of y'all's too chicken to ask, it was great! I enjoyed every second of it. And if you don't like that, you can just fire me!" Sookie said
Sookie slams her tray onto Sam's chest and walks away. Entering the bathroom.
"Do you think that was the perfect time to out yourself?" Maria asked her sister
"Why not? You haven't." Sookie said
"I can only out myself if I was with a vampire. Which I am. But I haven't done with humans yet. Including myself being a weretiger. I can out myself for being a fangbanger. But as a weretiger. If they want proof for me as a fangbanger then I need to prove it to them. Waiting for the right time." Maria said
"Ok." Sookie said
Maria is at the bar. Sookie is taking a pitcher of beer to Royce, Wayne, and Chuck's table. Wayne, Royce and Chuck smile and laugh. Three vampires, Diane, Liam and Malcolm, enter Merlotte's. Everyone in Merlotte's notices. Diane approaches a young man seated with a woman at a booth and leans over him as the woman cowers.
"Well, hey there, sugar." Diane said
Sookie looks worried and so does Maria. Sam walks into the dining area, where the three vampires are. Malcolm looked at Maria.
"You? Get us three Tru Bloods." Malcolm said
"Fuck you." Maria said
"Y'all need to go somewhere else. This is a family place. Locals only." Sam said
"Well, we just closed on a place up the road, so that makes us official citizens of Renard Parish. We're the new locals." Malcolm said
"My place, my rules." Sam said
"Discrimination against vampires is punishable by law in the great state of Louisiana. Personally, I don't give a... (Malcolm looks around the dining area, and sneers.)...but I...am...thirsty." Malcolm said
"You...are...not...welcome here." Sam said
Diane chuckles. She is still at the booth, running her fingers through the young man's hair.
"That only works in a private home." Diane said
"Oh! How nice to see you again, Sookie! You are looking delectable as always. (Malcolm walks toward Sookie. Diane frowns, pushes the young man aside, and leaves the booth. Maria grabs a knife slowly.) Well, well! (Malcolm notices the fang marks on Sookie's neck.) It looks like Little Miss Holdout has given up the goods. Brava! Did he leave enough for the rest of us?" Malcolm said
"I am his." Sookie said
"Well, he is not here, is he? And while Bill's away, Malcolm will always play." Malcolm said
Malcolm exposes his fangs to Sookie. She pushes him away from her.
"Don't you think for one second I'd ever have anything to do with you! I'm sure you were trash while you were alive, and now you're just dead trash!" Sookie said
"I'm gonna drain you so slowly, you're gonna beg me to kill you." Malcolm said
Terry runs from a booth in the back toward Malcolm.
"JIHAD THIS, MOTHERFUCKER!" Terry shouts
Diane vamp speed to Terry, grabs him and throws him across the room. He lands at the pool table in the gaming area. Maria walked slowly with the knife on her hand. Sam breaks a pool cue in half over his leg, and points the thick part of it toward Malcolm.
"You are a dead man." Malcolm said
"Maybe. But I'm gonna take one of y'all with me." Sam said
"Sam!" Maria and Sookie said
Sam runs toward Malcolm with the pool cue as Liam takes the makeshift stake from him, hurling it like a javelin to the stack of glasses behind the bar. A woman screams. Liam has Sam on his back over the bar, his right hand around Sam's jaw. Diane vamp speed towards Maria and put her in a chokehold. Maria dropped the knife.
"Maria!" Sookie said
"Let go of me you fucking bitch." Maria said
"Please! Leave them alone!" Sookie said
With lightning speed, Bill entering Merlotte's and walks toward Malcolm, and Sookie.
"Stop this! Now! (Liam and Diane releases their grip on Sam and Maria. Maria coughed.) You're here for me, not them!" Bill said
"We had to get your attention, and I do believe it worked." Malcolm said
"What do you want?" Bill said
"You never call me back. Now, if I remembered what feelings were, mine might be hurt." Malcolm said
Diane rushes to Bill with her vamp speed, and strokes his cheek with her hand.
"Join our nest, Bill. Forget these blood sacks. (Diane puts her arm around Bill and runs her fingers through his hair.) Let's party like we used to, huh? We used to have so much fun." Diane said
Sookie looks sadly at Bill and Diane. Bill looks at Sookie, downcast.
"All right. Let's go." Bill said
"What the hell are you doing?" Sookie asked Bill in confusion
"I should be with my own." Bill said
"But you're not like them. You're better than they'll ever be!" Sookie said
"I am not human, Sookie. I am vampire." Bill said
Bill and Sookie exchange a long stare. Liam and Diane leave Merlotte's, followed by Bill and Malcolm. Sam approaches to Maria.
"You ok?" Sam asked Maria
"I'm fine. A lot stronger. Check on Terry. (Maria walked towards Terry and bends on her knees. She taps his face.) Hey buddy." Maria said
"I've tried stopping them." Terry said
"Any one of us would've tried." Maria said
Maria at the kitchen. She puts ice on her neck. Sookie walk passed the kitchen and Maria followed her. They walked outside. Sookie is on her cell phone.
"Dammit, Bill. Please pick up. (Sookie leaves a message.) Bill, a lynch mob is going after those vampires. You gotta get outta there. Call me back, now! (Sookie looks at her phone, and closes it. She looked at her sister.) Could you sense him?" Sookie asked her sister
"It's the one thing I haven't developed." Maria said
Compton Residence.
Sookie and her sister enters through the front door. The house is unlit.
"Never been in his house before." Maria said
"Yeah. Just classic. Bill? (Maria closes the door behind her.) Bill?" Sookie said
"Bill?" Maria said
Sookie walks to a paneled wall and her sister follows, just off the front hall. Sookie presses the panel, and a door opens, revealing the space leading to Bill's sleeping place. She enters the small space, kneels, and opens the carpet-covered trap door, finding nothing. They walks into the parlor. Books with candles on them are on the coffee table. Sookie sits on the sofa.
"I'll wait for him." Sookie said
"You sure?" Maria asked her sister
"I'll call if anything goes wrong." Sookie said
"Ok." Maria said
Stackhouse Residence.
Maria sees a small box with a ribbon on it. She smiles and shakes her head. She untied the ribbon, open the box, and sees a key in there.
"You're trying to hard." Maria said
Sunday.
Maria was on her couch sleeping. A siren sound from a distance wakes her up. Sookie barged in.
"What's going on?" Maria asked her sister
"I think..." Sookie said as her sister cuts her off
"I'll drive." Maria said
Police and firefighters walk or stand around the burned, smoking remains of Malcolm, Diane, and Liam's house. Maria driving up to the scene. Some onlookers are present. News crew showed up. A police officer walks down from the house. Sookie and her sister get out of the car and makes their way to the burned house. The two police officers continue talking as Sookie and her sister runs past them to Sheriff Dearborn and Andy Bellefleur.
"Is Bill in there?" Sookie asked them
Sookie passes between the sheriff and detective and stares at the house.
"No way of knowin'. They're awful messy." Sheriff Dearborne said
Two firefighters unload a charred coffin from the house.
"But there was four of 'em." Andy said
Two firefighters place the charred coffin next to three other charred coffins.
