It was the day of the big party at Crater Lake. Angela,Clark, and Chloe began to make their way through the party. Clark looked over and noticed Lana there unfortunatly with Whitney.
"Party was a real turn out,"
"Yea Angela I'm amazed you could come you been busy lately,"
"Lex had to work said as long as I had my credit card and phone he knew I was available to get ahold of in case of an emergency at home,"
"What's it like living with Lex Luthor?,"
"It's remarkable he is helping me alot with school and supporting me in my decision to do as I want I know it also takes a load off the farm having less to pay,"
"You know mom and dad miss you right,"
"i know Clark," Angela replied as they noticed Chloe being approached.
"Hey Sullivan,"
"Hi Sean,"
"Was wondering if you and Angela were busy this weekend?,"
"Sorry Sean I have a boyfriend,"
"And I can't Sean I have plans already made," Chloe replied trying to be nice about not wanting to go out with him.
"Ah come on Sullivan one date,"
"Here, here's my number give me a call tomorrow and we will see if we can arrange it," nodding Sean takes off to toss a football with Whitney as Clark begins teasing Chloe about giving him her number.
"I did it just to get rid of him," Chloe states finally explaining her reason for giving him her number.
As Whitney and Sean began throwing the football around Whitney threw a bad toss landing the ball on the ice.
Walking out to retrive it Sean was unaware the ice began to crack and as he picked up the ball the ice fully broke as he fell into the icy waters below. Without warning the ice resealed trapping Sean beneath the ice drowning in a watery grave.
Kent Farm
"This doesn't look good," Martha declared as she looked over the farm books.
"Could quit school, play professional sports, and make a ton of money off of endorsements,"
"Not funny Clark," Angela replied as she entered the kitchen smacking her brother up against the head.
"Trying to lighten the mood,"
"We know Clark dear you both should head to school,"
"Ok mom," Angela replied kissing her mother's cheek as she and Clark headed out to her Audi.
Heading down the road Angela pulled over as they stopped to pick up Chloe and Pete.
"So Sean didn't call today,"
"Knew he didn't want anything except the one thing he can't have,"
"You're right Angela," Chloe replied as she stared out the car window.
"Hey don't let it bum you out you know his reputation,"
"She's right Chloe," Clark agreed with his sister as they pulled into the school parking lot.
As they headed inside they were unaware to the fact Sean sat in the nurses office.
"i just cant seem to get warm," Sean starts as the nurse places her hand against his forehead to feel his temperture after taking it with the thermometer which read 38c.
Grabbing her hand Sean's colour returns as the nurse begins to complain about having the chills.
Kent Farm
Martha poured over the books more as a knock sounded at the door.
"Come in,"
"Good morning Mrs Kent,"
"Good morning Lex, and please it's Martha,"
"Of course I came by to purchase artichokes for the dinner i'm making Angela tonight, and I need enough for the farming community dinner i'm hosting tomorrow,"
"We'd be happy to provide you some Lex,"
"I'm hosting this cause i'm interested in investing in some of the farms, modernize them, and make them competitive again,"
"Sounds like a very honourable thing to do Lex to help the farms around here again,"
"I'd like you and Jonathon to be there tomorrow night,"
"I'll discuss it with Jonathon Lex but we know his attitude but if I could I would agree to it since you take such good care of my daughter,"
"I love your daughter Martha I will always take care of her,"
"I know lex, I know," Martha smiled as she set about placing the order to have the artichokes sent to the mansion, while sending him on his way with a small box for tonight.
The Beanery
Angela and Lex walk away from the counter after receiving their orders as they bump into Lana.
"Hey Lana,"
"Hey Angela, Mr Luthor,"
"Lex please,"
"What are you doing here Lana thought you and Whitney were meeting up tonight,"
"We were suppose to but he broke another date,"
"I'm sorry Lana,"
"You can do better Miss Lang,"
"You may be right Lex,"
"I'll see you at school tomorrow ok Lana,"
"Ok Angela, have a good evening Lex,Angela," smiling they clasp hands as they make their way out of The Beanery.
"Hey Clark,"
"Hey Lex and sis,"
"Lana is in there alone Clark," Angela pointed out knowing her brother had a crush on her.
"here Clark two tickets, take Miss Lang if you can make the date within the next sixty seconds I will always toss in a limo for the night," eyeing the tickets Clark smiled and took a deep breath as he entered the beanery making a straight line for Lana.
"Do you think he will make it?,"
"He already did love you owe him the limo,"
"How do you...never mind I forgot you know your brothers body language it was a fair deal he will also have a limo for his date,"
"That is why I love you Lex you aren't afraid to give and help your friends," smiling Lex wrapped an arm around Angela waist laughing as they head to the Porshe.
Angela
Enjoying the drive Angela smiled as Lex took her hand in his the love shining so pure between them. She was sure nothing would ever break them apart unless it was a dire situation that causes it.
Lex knew as he looked at Angela that he loved her. She fit in his life and heart from the moment they met when Clark returned the truck. He never regretted a single thing so far maybe moving to Smallville was meant to happen all along.
Clark
"Chloe I can't decide what to wear,"
"You just have no fashion taste," Chloe laughed as she shoved Clark out of the way and began rooting through the closet.
Ring Ring
"Hello," Chloe answered as she threw a shirt at Clark to begin the outfit for the date.
"Hi Chloe,"
"Hi Sean, what can I do for you,"
"Can we meet up?,"
"Um sure how about coffee at the Smallville Torch?,"
"Sounds good meet you there,"
"Ok bye Sean,"
"Bye Chloe" as they hung up Chloe turned to find Clark looking at her surprised at what she did.
"It's only coffee Clark let him explain why he did what he did,"
"Just be careful,"
"Always," Chloe replied handing Clark a decent pair of jeans and leaving the room so he could dress.
Downstairs Chloe sat with Martha in the kitchen when she noticed a long black limo pull up.
"Clark! Lex's limo is here,"
"Coming!," Clark yelled as he made his way downstairs.
"Have a good night tonight Clark and try to enjoy it with Lana,"
"Thanks mom, thanks Chloe for the help," Clark smiled as he headed out.
"I'm going to head out too goodnight ,"
"Good night Chloe," Martha smiled as the door closed behind Chloe.
The Torch Office
Sean sat in the pool room in front of a fire as Chloe enters surprised by the trail of flower petals leading her from the door to him.
"Sorry Chloe I just can't get warm so sitting by the fire helps but the only thing that truly works is body heat," Sean said as he stood up and began to approach Chloe.
"Don't do this Sean," Chloe replied letting out a yelp as she fell into the pool.
Swiming across the pool Chloe starts to climb out surprised as Sean suddenly freezes the pool capturing her ankle. Scared she was about to be hurt or worse she closed her eyes praying things wouldnt go the way she feared. Thank god for small miracles though as Clark suddenly turned up.
"What are you doing here Clark you're suppose to be with Lana?,"
"I'm saving my best friend now go Chloe," Clark replied shoving Chloe towards the exit.
Turning around quickly Clark punched Sean who had made his way to the side of the pool they were on and with one punch sent him across the room.
"Go Chloe!," Clark repeated wanting Chloe safe from Sean.
Turning to face Sean once more Clark was stunned to see that he had vanished from the pool room.
Scrambling into the Torch office Chloe turned and locked the door before running to her computer and plopping down on the chair her fingers flew across the keyboard trying to figure out what the hell had just happened.
Turns out it was a case that had thankfully been documented having happened to another person before. Scrolling down the page she was surprised to know it was a situation where the thermosensitive cells in the brain are damaged.
The Beanery
Walking into the coffee shop Pete paused in surprise at seeing Lana sitting at the table. Walking over he sits as he notices her upset.
"Hey what happened?,"
"I don't fully understand myself what happened but Clark said something about Chloe and Sean and took off leaving me in the limo,"
"Wow messed up,"
"Yes it is Pete," Lana replied as she looked up seeing Whitney enter the shop.
"Pete you take the limo, Whitney will you take me home?,"
"Of course Lana," Whitney replied as she stood wrapping an arm around his girlfriend heading out.
Pete shook his head as he stood and purchased his coffee before making his way outside. Walking to the driver window of the limo Pete took the moment to explain the fact that Miss Lang gave him the use of the limo and had left already. Making it easy he told the driver all he had to do was drop me off at home and then enjoy the rest of his night.
Sliding into the back seat Pete relaxed as the limo made its way towards his family's farm.
Whitney's Truck
"So what were you so dressed up for tonight?,"
"Was going to go out to a performance with Clark since you were busy but he ended up having to take off so we didn't make it to the performace,"
"Kent? seriously ok from now on my weekends are yours I mean it,"
"Thank you Whitney," Lana replied giving him a small smile.
"Hey isn't that Sean," Whitney said surprised before he suddenly lost control of the truck having not seen that Sean had frozen the road while trying to flag them down for a ride.
Lana screaming was the last thing Whitney heard as he was knocked out as they crashed. Clark was stunned as he arrived at the crash site quickly checking on Lana and then Whitney. Turning around to see what could have caused the accident he was blind sided by Sean.
Throwing a few punches at each other Sean threw up his hand to begin pulling the heat from Clark. Stealing enough heat Sean took off towards Luthor manor not caring that he left Clark frozen upon the ground.
Luthor Mansion
"Are you sure you wish to do this love," Lex asked Angela shocked still at the plan she had told him about earlier.
"Lex I'm tired of hiding we love each other let's show them a united front how a farmer's daughter captured your heart,"
"As you wish love," Lex replied a smile gracing his lips as he hooked the cufflink on his right sleeve.
"You look beautiful tonight Angela,"
"Thank you Lex you look very hansome yourself," Angela smiled as she fixed her elbow length black gloves and made sure her sleevless black ballgown was perfect.
Placing her hand upon Lex's elbow they made their way out the room down the front stairs smiling at the stunned looks upon their guests faces.
"Ladies and gentleman welcome to Luthor Mansion. Tonight is a night to discuss possiblities of coming together as a united front in order to help save many of you from finacial ruin and the sad loss of your family farms. The time for business will be after dinner please follow us," Lex announced as he and Angela stepped down the last few steps and into the large dining room they had set up for tonight.
As dinner came to a end Angela turned to her mother who Lex had seated beside her to her right as he was on her left.
"I'm happy you could make it mom, even if dad couldn't,"
"Well I may not be able to make any business decisions or anything but to spend a night with my daughter is more important, Martha smiled as she patted her daughter on the arm.
"Well we are happy to have you here no matter what Martha you are always welcome here," Lex replied making sure she knew she had a open invitation to see her daughter any time.
"Ladies and gentlemen drinks will be served in the next room as we begin business," Lex informed his guests as he held his arms out for Angela and Martha.
Sitting in the lounge those who were just guests sat with Angela and Marta on the couches near the window as Lex and those who were in charge of their farms sat in front of the fire.
"So you and Mr Luthor?,"
"Yes Miss Lang, Lex and I have fallen in love and it was through a mutual agreement that to show that he is not like his father and willing to help those in Smallville he and I came up with this plan to offer deals with the farms to help them,"
"Well Angela it is a very considerate plan it is nice to see that Lex took your advice," smiling Angela took a sip of her champagne but coughed as she swallowed it as the power went out.
"Lex you all keep talking my mom and I can check on the generator,"
"You sure Angela,"
"Yes Lex," Angela replied as she and Martha made their way safely to the doors and carefully made their way out to the generator.
"Hopefully its nothing too bad and it can be fixed easily mom,"
"It can't be," came a voice from behind them scaring them.
"Who are you?," Martha asked as she grabbed Angela's arm.
"The person who will take everyone's heat,"
"Sean," Angela recogonized the voice.
Suddenly a blur flashed past them knocking Sean away from them.
"Get back inside,"
"Clark you need me,"
"No I don't sis go inside enjoy your party I can handle Sean,"
"Okay Clark," Angela agreed knowing her brother truly could handle it without her.
Taking her mom's arm Angela and Martha made their way back inside the mansion as Clark turned and faced down Sean.
"How dare you try to attack my mother and sister,"
"I don't care who it comes from but I need human body heat to stay warm," Sean bit out through his chattering teeth.
"Not anymore," Clark replied as he attacked Sean.
The fight between them was close each getting good shots in on each other lasting a good five minutes before Clark finally got the upper hand and taking the chance he tossed Sean into the pond and watched in shocked as it froze over him.
Later that evening
As the Luthor limo pulled up to the Kent farm Clark and Angela sharing a knowing look as she cuddled closer to Lex. As the limo came to a stop Clark exited one door as Lex exited the opposite.
Turning they each turned and helped Angela and Martha exit the limo.
"Lex love I'm going in for a minute to have a glass of my moms lemonade,"
"Okay love I am going to talk to your dad," nodding Angela, Clark, and Martha headed into the house as Lex made his way into the barn.
"Mr Kent,"
"Lex,"
"I'm sorry to hear you took a loan out for the farm,"
"I just don't know if i can trust you,"
"You allow me to take care of your daughter and I know she is precious to you, you can trust me Mr Kent,"
"We'll see,"
"Well the offer is always open if you ever need it," Lex replied as he made his way to the barn door.
"Thank you,"
"You're welcome," Lex smiled knowing he made a bit of a victory with earning Jonathon Kent's approval.
Smiling he saw Angela standing on the porch. Making his way to her Lex and Angela knew the future changed just a bit now and for that they were happy as they got back in the limo and made their way home.
