Kent Farm

"We will be back in a few days," Jonathon said as he packed his and Martha's bags in the bed of the truck.

"No parties," Martha said giving her children a 'I know you thought of it" look.

"Sure no problem mom," Clark and Angela replied.

"Just enjoy your anniversary mom no worries won't be any parties or any situations here,"

"I hope not," Martha said getting into the passenger seat of the truck as Jonathon got in the drivers side.

"Be safe," Clark called out as their parents drove down the driveway to go to Metropolis.

"Party?,"

"Party," Clark laughed replying.

"I will have Lex take care of the police for the evening,"

"Thank's I will handle the rest,"

"You sure you don't want my help?,"

"You are helping worrying about cops busting up the party is the main worry for all high school parties,"

"True, ok i'm out I have to go get my car and bag from the mansion so we can get to school, if I see you I'll pick you and the others up,"

"Thanks sis,"

"No problem Clark," Angela replied as she began running down the driveway a bit before super speeding towards the mansion.

After getting her bag and a quick snack Angela hopped in her Audi and headed out for school. As she drove down the road she smiled seeing Clark, Pete, and Chloe.

"Hey guys hop in," Angela said as she pulled up beside them.

"Thanks Ang," Pete said as he and Chloe got in the back seat as Clark took the passenger seat.

"So did Clark tell you the news,"

"What news?,"

"Our parents are out of town for a few days for their anniversary and we are having a small party at the farm,"

"Oh nice I'm in," Chloe said eagerly.

"Me too," Pete said.

"I hope it stays small don't need a lot of people there ruining the house,"

"Even if there was Clark you and I can clean it quickly before mom and dad get home," Angela said giving Clark a look out of the corner of her eye.

As they arrived at school Clark took off to find Lana to make sure she was still happy after the special birthday gift he gave her last night, Pete took off to his locker, and Chloe left for the Torch office.

Angela parked her Audi and made her way inside taking it easy since she was still sore from the amazing night she and Lex spent together the night before.

After putting her stuff in her locker she took the books she needed for the morning and headed to class.

The day went by smoothly until Angela heard whispers from almost everyone in school about the party at the Kent farm. Angela knew then the party was going to get out of hand for sure and opened her iPhone sending a quick message to lex.

Lex, Clark decided since our parents are out of town for a few days to throw a party unfortunately it has gone from a small guest list to a whole school list. Things are going to get out of hand can you handle the cops tonight?

After firing off the text Angela made her way to the cafeteria to join her brother and friends for lunch.

Just as lunch finished Angela's pocket vibrated slipping her phone out of her pocket she smiled seeing it was from Lex quickly reading it before heading into class.

Cops handled and a extra something special as a gift to Clark for his first party to be a success. Have a good day Angel. I love you.

Leaning over in her seat in class Angela let Clark know things were set for after school.

Kent Farm

Clark regretted it now at least slightly. He had already had to use his powers to save the floor from being ruined by a puking party goer, there was a keg someone had brought, and Angela had spent most her time outside talking to Lex on the phone.

He couldn't blame her though he knew how much Lex meant to her and would have been the same way if he was in the same type of relationship. Plus he considered it lookout duty since he knew she didn't drink and didn't like most the people who had shown up to the party.

It had just turned dark when small explosions began going off outside. Clark practically ran outside with the rest of the party goers and was shocked to see fireworks coming from the field.

Angela smiled as she look down the driveway at the sound of a approaching car. She knew who it was and was up on her feet running towards Lex into his arms kissing him passionately.

"This is the sweetest thing you could have done for my brother lex,"

"Anything for family," Lex said smiling as he held Angela close walking up to where Clark stood.

"Thank you Lex for handling the cops, and for this,"

"It's your first party your reputation is on the line, you're welcome Clark," Lex smiled as he turned to watch the fireworks pulling Angela into front of him wrapping his arms around her waist laying his chin on her shoulder.

An hour later the guests were back inside as Angela noticed Whitney arrive looking for Lana. Seeing him find her she knew they had things to talk about. Cuddling up to Lex as they sat on the couch talking to a few of the guests who had the nerves to ask questions they had for Lex and taking the chance to.

Clark and Angela thought tonight would be a normal night until Lana came running back inside.

"Guy's your barn is shaking we think something or someone is inside," Lana said breathlessly.

Sharing a look Angela got up and headed outside with Clark, with Lex behind her, and Lana to Clark's left.

Entering the barn they found Whitney standing by someone they were shocked to see there, their old farm aid, Earl Jenkins.

"Earl?," Angela said stepping towards him carefully.

"I can't control it, the jitters they are so out of control,"

"It's ok we'll get you help Earl why don't you come inside," suddenly Angela felt violently ill as she was closer to Earl as his jitters got worse making her drop to her knees in pain.

"Angela!," Lex yelled out as he darted forward pulling Angela into his arms and away from Earl.

"Love?,"

"I..I'm ok Lex just sick to my stomach, similar like what happened at the school,"

"I'm taking you home," Lex declared before turning his head and barking at Clark to stay away from Earl and call a ambulance.

Clark didn't understand until he saw how his sister looked and then he nodded at Lex and backed up. He knew that Lex knew the meteor rocks in any form made them sick, not why, or what they were, just that they made them sick. He appreciated that of Lex knowing he was watching his back in many ways.

An Hour Later

Clark stood in the hospital talking to one of the Sheriff's men about Earl when all of a sudden they heard a ruckus occurring inside Earl's room. Making their way to the room they opened the door to see Earl having a worse case of the jitters then he had before.

The jitters were getting so bad that anyone who got close to Earl was tossed across the room including Clark.

Being the friend he knew Earl needed Clark stayed the night at the hospital so he wouldn't be alone.

The Next Morning

Clark and Angela got to the farm at the same time and headed into the house. Angela stood in the kitchen pouring a glass of lemonade as Clark super speeded to clean the house.

All of a sudden sarcastic clapping came from the stairs.

"Well done but we're still angry you had a party," Jonathon said to his children.

"His party," Angela said.

"It's true Angela was here but she spent the night outside talking to Lex on the phone, and when he arrived spent it with him sitting on the couch,"

"We're disappointed in you but what is going on with Earl?,"

"He's wanted for murder," Clark said as he sat at the counter.

"He's what?," Jonathon said in disbelief.

"It's true," Clark said as he watched his dad sit in stunned silence for a moment before grabbing his keys.

"Take me to where he is," Jonathon said to Clark before kissing Martha on the cheek and together they left to check on Earl.

"It's bad isn't it," Martha asked her daughter.

"Yes, he has been effected by meteor rocks Clark and I couldn't be around him much he's sick and scared," Angela replied before seeing her phone vibrate on the kitchen counter where she had laid it.

Sliding it open she noticed the message was from lex.

Hired lawyer for your family friend Earl, will take care of fees tell your mom I say hi since I just saw your dad and Clark drive by me.

Smiling Angela showed the message to her mom happy that she had such a caring boyfriend.

"Lex is good for you, and he for you,"

"He is, the night of Lana's birthday he let her use his mansion for her birthday party and took me to metropolis for the evening. Last night he came here, made sure the cops didn't show up here, and even had fireworks set off for the party last night,"

"He is changing, he isn't like his father I can see that, and so does your father he is accepting him cause he see's how happy you are,"

"Thank you mom, I'm happy you both are," Angela smiled and came around hugging her mother for accepting Lex.

At The Hospital

Jonathon and Clark made their way into the hospital to visit Earl,being a friend of their family meant they would always come to see them when they were in need.

As they arrive at Earl's room they were met by the doctor exiting the room.

"Doc, how is he?,"

"He was poisoned by some sort of mineral, the mineral though has been implanted underneath his skin so it's impossible to remove cause the pieces are so tiny. But it's like his skin is trying to push them out, according to him he became like his from a explosion at Luthorcorp plant six months ago but no proof of the explosion exists,"

"Thanks doc," Jonathon said as he stepped around the doc and entered the room, Clark remaining outside so he wasn't effected.

"They think i'm crazy Jonathon," Earl burst out as soon as he saw his friend.

"Calm down Earl, how did this happen?,"

"I was cleaning level three of the Luthorcorp plant, they had begun experiments with a new fertilizer that would make corn grow twice as fast. It was unstable but they didn't care, I was in the room when the explosion happened when I became like this,"

"I believe you Earl, you're not alone in this,"

"Oh thank you Jonathon," Earl said with the first true smile in days on his face, and Clark could see from the window his dad was just what Earl needed.

The Next Day

Angela and Clark followed behind their school mates as they hung out during the field trip of the Luthorcorp plant they were attending. They didn't say anything cause it was Chloe's dad Gabe who was leading the tour but they were bored.

Angela could see this place any time she wanted to as she was Lex's girlfriend and Clark was always welcome too. Turning they gave each other a shy look and slipped away from the through a authorized personal only marked door.

As they walked down the hall from the door they jumped as alarms began going off.

"We didn't do that did we?,"

"I don't think so," Clark said as he looked around.

Focusing her powers Angela was stunned to see through the wall seeing their teacher, Gabe, and the other students being held at gun point.

The plant was quickly evacuated just as the parent's of the students began arriving worrying about their children inside. Jonathon and Martha stood trying to get past the guards as Jonathon began to yell how his daughter and son were inside.

Luckily it was at that same time that Lex arrived pulling up in his Porsche in worry about his girl.

"Mr and Mrs Kent!,"

"Lex oh thank god Angela and Clark are inside with their other school mates someone has taken them hostage,"

"I will handle this I promise to get them out safe," Lex said leading them towards the building stopping before the guard at the barrier.

"Mr and Mrs Kent here are to be granted special access to my plant, they are family they are allowed closer,"

"Yes Mr Luthor," the guard replied with no argument.

"Family?,"

"I'm in love with your daughter Mr Kent I consider you family now," Lex said before he swung open the front door and headed inside as Martha and Jonathon watched on in worry.

Angela shook as she made her way into the office as Clark had gone off to find the blueprints to the building.

"Earl?,"

"Miss Kent what are you doing here?,"

"Earl I came here on this trip with my school mates here. Why are you doing this Ear?,"

"I need to prove, I need to show everyone I'm not crazy that there is a level three to this plant,"

"Earl there's no level three," Clark said as he arrived holding up his hands revealing the blueprints he held.

"What are those?,"

"These are the blueprints to the building you can look yourself Earl there's no level three,"

"I don't believe it I need to talk to Lionel Luthor,"

"Trust me you don't want to go there," groaned Angela knowing if Lionel came to Smallville he would destroy alot of things especially her and Lex.

Lex slowly made his way into the room behind Angela with his hands raised. Just as Earl suffers another episode causing him to snap off the valve to the methane gas pipe.

"Mr Jenkins, I am here to make a deal with you me in exchange for the others let the children go,"

"I was never going to hurt anyone, they can go I won't keep them,"

"Very wise Mr Jenkins,"

"Lex I'm not leaving you,"

"I love you Angel please don't stay in here please for me go be safe outside with your parents,"

"I love you too Lex but I won't leave you be alone we do this together,"

"I'm staying too, after all he's a family friend he will need to know he still has friends,"

"True Clark," Angela agreed with her brother as the final student left the room.

Clark made it seem as he was leaving but had let Lex and Angela know he was going to see if he could find more proof for Earl that level three didn't exist.

Lex held Angela close as they waited on Clark as Earl paced back and forth waiting for Lionel Luthor to call him back to admit he knew about level three.

"Earl, It's Clark I found the closet you were talking about come to where you said it was you can't miss the elevator but Earl there is no button for a level three just a one and two," came Clark's voice over the intercom.

Earl waved the gun towards Lex and Angela. Signalling they were to go first ahead of him. As they made their way to where Earl said it was Lex and Angela was surprised when they saw that the elevator at least existed.

Earl stepped around them walking up the elevator with a smirk on his face knowing he was right and pressed on the spot under the two which to their even further surprise lit up like a button.

The door opened and Earl motioned for Lex to get in the elevator with him. Angela being stubborn though held onto Lex's hand refusing to allow her love go alone with Earl.

As the elevator made it's way up to the third floor Angela and Lex shared a look of disbelief at what his father hid.

The doors reopened and Earl walked out onto a catwalk that stretched out from the elevator to the wall on the other side.

"There use to be a enormous cornfield underneath here and every night they would spray it with green mist," as Earl said green mist Lex looked at Angela and noticed his girl wasn't looking good.

"Angela, love it's the same green that makes you sick when your around the rocks isn't it?,"

"Yes Lex please get me out of here,"

"Mr Jenkins if you care about the Kent's let me get Angela out of here the air in here is making her ill,"

"Of course put her in the elevator where she should be safe," Earl said showing the Kent's still meant a lot to him.

Lex led Angela back to the elevator where the doors still stood open and got her inside and sat down on the floor. Shrugging off his jacket he rolled it up and placed it down on the floor before helping Angela lay down to rest.

Standing back up Lex made his way back to the catwalk near Earl while glancing back at Angela every few seconds.

"You truly love her don't you,"

"Yes I do,"

"It's good to see Angela happy she was always a very alone girl, you're nothing like your father I'm happy you make her happy," Earl said with a small smile on his face.

Clark found another way to the third floor not wanting to leave his friend and sister alone with Earl. As he arrived he notices as Earl starts to have another fit. Angela's eyes widen is worry as she watches the catwalk shake badly before the whole thing snaps causing Earl and Lex to dangle thirty feet above concrete.

"Lex!,"

"Angela stay there I will help them,"

"Clark green mist,"

"Ok sis," Clark said as he slowly makes his way across whats left of the catwalk and bends down reaching out his hand to Earl and Lex.

"Take my hand come on," Earl grabbed it first and Clark pulled as hard as he could pulling Earl up onto the catwalk.

Then it was Lex's turn and just as he succeeded in getting Lex up onto the catwalk as well Earl began to shake again.

Clark pushed Earl and Lex towards the elevator and breathed a sigh of relief as they made it inside just as the rest of the catwalk falls.

Lex pulls Angela into his arms holding her close to soothe her fears that she almost lost him.

"I'm ok love I'm ok," Angela nodded as she huddled close to Lex as the elevator arrived back at the main floor.

Together they all made their way outside with Lex not letting go of Angela's hand despite his father being there.

As they got close to the Kent's Lex kissed Angela before letting her go with her brother to her family who was waiting to hug them.

Making his way over to his father as he made some speech about how level three was just a storage area Lex interrupted with his own speech.

"The best medical care will be provided for Mr Jenkins as he is a friend of my friends the Kent's who have become dear to me I will personally pay for all Mr Jenkins treatments," Lex announced before his father pulled him into a mock hug.

Looking over Lex wished it was Angela and the Kent's that were hugging him with true care and love.

Later That Evening

Angela made her way upstairs in the mansion as Lex made sure the place was locked up. Entering their bedroom Angela stripped off her clothing tossing them in their laundry hamper as she entered the bathroom.

Turning on the hot water Angela stepped under the faucet letting the hot water cascade down her tired body washing off the stress of the day. Grabbing her shampoo/conditioner Angela lathered up her hair massaging her scalp making sure that no traces of any airborne traces of the green mist from Level three could remain.

She was so engrossed in her shower she didn't hear Lex enter the bathroom but jumped as his bare arms slid around her waist when her back was turned.

"How are you feeling Angel,"

"Exhausted love,"

"Understandable Angel come on let's finish up in here and get a good night sleep," Angela nodded in agreement to Lex's idea as he grabbed the wash cloth and began to wash her back.

As she turned to rinse off her back she noticed Lex quickly give himself a good wash, and Angela motioned for him to turn so she could do his back as well.

Twenty minutes later after they exited their shower together Angela slipped into her night shorts and a tank top as Lex dressed in his silk night pants. Moving the covers Angela was happy to be able to rest dealing with meteor effected people was tiring now.

As Lex joined her he pulled her close letting her rest her head on his chest. Turning off the light Lex and Angela fell into a peaceful sleep.
