Stackhouse Residence.
Living room.
"I had to put those clothes on the wash. It felt like the killer was all over me. Watching me, hating me itching for a knife or a rope or my neck." Sookie said
"You didn't get any sense of who it was?" Maria asked her sister
"No, just pictures. His thoughts were all red and black and snarly. But there was something familiar." Sookie said
"Like somebody from Bon Temps? Or somebody from the bar?" Sam asked Sookie
"No one I could recognize for sure." Sookie said
"Dammit! I should've been with you." Maria said
"It wasn't your fault." Sookie said
"Look, I think we should call the police." Sam said
"And what would I say? "Sheriff Dearborne, Andy Bellefleur, I saw a woman die. I just had to be in somebody else's brain at the time"?" Sookie said
"Did you get a good look at her?" Sam asked Sookie
"What was she like?" Maria asked her sister
"Young, pretty with an apron." Sookie said
"Apron. You mean like a mom?" Sam asked Sookie
"More like a waitress." Sookie said
"Was there a name tag?" Maria asked her sister
"Maybe." Sookie said
They sit on the couch.
"What did it say?" Sam asked Sookie
"I don't know. I was looking at her eyes. She was so surprised." Sookie said
"Well, do you wanna call Bill? I mean, that might make you feel better." Sam said
"No. He would've felt how scared I was. He would've known I was in danger. If he didn't show up tonight he's not coming back." Sookie said
"Eric would've heard me if I was in danger." Maria said
"You hear from Tara?" Sookie asked Sam
"No." Sam said
"Well, good night." Sookie said
"Night, Sam." Maria said
"Night." Sam said
Friday.

Sookie is reading the Yellow Pages. Maria making breakfast when Sam comes.
"Good morning." Sam said
"Morning." Maria said
Maria put a couple of eggs and sausages on three plates. She puts the plates on the table.
"Thanks." Sam thanking Maria
"Did Tara call?" Sookie asked Sam
"Not yet. Probably still sleeping it off." Sam said
"I still blame myself for what happened." Maria said
"Rose I'm your big sister. I'm supposed to be protecting you." Sookie said
"I know. But since I'm...you know...a weretiger. I use my powers to protect. That man was trying to kill you. Protecting you. I'm not doing it alone. Sam is also here." Maria said
"I wanna find that guy before he finds me again." Sookie said
"I wonder why he didn't try to kill me?" Maria asked in confusion
"It's a kill list. Maudette, Dawn, Gran..." Sookie said as her finished her sentence
"You and me." Maria said
"Yep." Sookie said
"So you're looking up killers in the yellow pages?" Sam asked Sookie
"No. I remembered. In my sleep, I remembered the girl. Her clothes, the apron, it was a uniform. She was a waitress and there was a tag. Her name was Cindy. And the restaurant name was something about pies. Party Pies or Patty Pies." Sookie said
"Wait, you mean Big Patty's Pie House?" Sam asked Sookie
"Yes." Sookie said
"Well, yeah, I know Big Patty's. it's off I-49, a way south, near Bunkie." Sam said
"Let's fuel up. We can't go without an empty stomach." Maria said
"I'm not hungry." Sookie said
"Eat up." Sam said
"You're not the boss of me. Oh, right, you are." Sookie said
"Yeah." Sam said
They eat.
Bunkie
Big Patty's
"No ladies, no, sir. I don't know any Cindy. But I can recommend the fried apple pie, the froze Hawaiian pie, the chocolate pecan praline pie, the chess pie, the seven-layer Jell-O pie." Waitress said
"They'll have the peanut butter pie and the Spunky Hollow honey pineapple pie. Please, Harley." Customer said
"Gotcha, Buster." Waitress said
"We will?" Sam asked Buster in confusion
"You won't get nothing from her. She's only been here two weeks. Comes from three generations of dumb as rocks. Hell, they named her after a motorcycle. And If you wanna know anything about Cindy Marshall, I'll talk to you. And I'll eat that pie too. Buster Boisseau." Buster said
"I'm Sookie Stackhouse. This is my sister Maria Stackhouse and this is Sam Merlotte." Sookie said
Harley brings the pies. Sam, Sookie, and Maria sit at the bar.
"Can you tell us..." Sam asked as Buster cuts him off
"First thing first." Buster said
Buster takes a bite out of his pie.
"You knew Cindy?" Maria asked Buster
"A little bit. Let's see, I met her two years ago. She moved into town with her brother a couple of months before..." Buster said as Sam cuts him off
"Before what?" Sam asked Buster
"Well, I hate to be the one to tell you, but somebody murdered that little gal. Just choked the life right out of her." Buster said
"Did they find out who did it?" Sookie asked Buster
"Nope. It's a mystery." Buster said
"Anyway we could find her brother? Maybe even talk to him?" Maria asked Buster
"Don't know how. He was gone by the time they found her body. The police thought maybe he's dead too or maybe he killed her. But there wasn't no evidence one way or the other." Buster said
"What was his name?" Sam asked Buster
"Let me think on that. Nobody hardly knew him. Let's see, D something. Dave. Drew. No, Drew. Drew Marshall." Buster said
"What was Cindy like?" Sookie asked Buster
"Oh, cute as a button, a little wild, fun-loving, always nice to me. But people talked, you know. About the vampires. They say she was carrying on with the vampires. I didn't believe her. I mean, what kind of woman would do such a thing?" Buster asked in confusion
Sookie, Maria, and Sam looked at each other.
Police station of Bunkie
"Hello?" Sam said
"Hold your horses." Officer said
Sookie reads the officers thoughts.
"Give him a second. He doesn't think so quick." Sookie whispers
"Hello?" Sam said
"Hello, officer. Sir. I'm sorry to bother you." Sookie said
"No bother. No bother at all." Officer said
Radio was on.
"Tom's coming up to that T.C. on Terra Ridge, about 5 miles out." Police radio
Officer observing Sookie's bite marks on her left arm.
"Are those vampires bites?" Officer asked Sookie
"With all due respect, sir, that's none of your business." Sam said
"That's a private life." Maria said
"Sir, we're looking for information." Sookie said
"Yeah, well, that's what the library's for." Officer said
"It's about Cindy Marshall's murder." Sam said
"What about it?" Officer asked them
"Well, there have been murders like hers in Renard Parish." Sam said
"Bon Temps, really. Hadn't you heard?" Maria asked Officer
"Can't say." Officer said
"She had a brother, Drew, I was told." Sookie said
"Could be." Officer said
"Do you have a picture of him?" Maria asked the Officer
"What for? We don't know he did it. More likely a vampire." Officer said
"I don't mean to tell you your business but a vampire wouldn't kill by strangulation." Sookie said
"Well, I guess you'd know. Good riddance to white trash is all I got to say." Officer said
Sam was mad and Maria was pissed.
"Buddy, you're out of line." Sam said
"Shut up. That guy killed our friends and killed our family members." Maria said
Sookie stepped up and Maria turned around as her eyes started glowing green. Sam calms her.
"Just hand me a picture of Drew Marshall and we'll go away quiet." Sookie said
"Well, that file's in storage. It's gonna take a while to get it, probably months." Officer said
Maria eyes were back to normal. She turned around.
"All right, then, we'll go to the library and I'll get your home address. Shouldn't be too hard to track down your wife." Sookie said
"My wife?" Officer asked in confusion
"So I can tell her you're sleeping with Debbie." Sookie said
"Yeah, Debbie." Sam said
"From church?" Sookie said
"You...how did...?" Officer asked as Maria cuts him off
"Blackmail is such an ugly word. White trash is way worst. Maybe I can explain this to the Vampire League of America about your attitude." Maria said
"Now, now, hold on a minute now. Hold on now. I can't just give you the photo. What I might do is fax it on down to the sheriff in Bon Temps." Officer said
"Fast." Sam said
"Yeah. Do my best." Officer said
"That's all we ask." Sookie said
"Thank you for your cooperation." Maria said
Night time.
Sam driving the car. Sookie, Maria, and Sam on the way back to Bon Temps.

"What a load of horse pucky." Sookie said
"I disagree." Sam said
"I'm not a telepath. We're dying to know. I have ask. Do you love Tara?" Rose asked Sam
"Maria?" Sookie said
"I like her a lot and I care about her, for sure. I've been trying to love her, but she doesn't make it easy." Sam said
"Well, she can't help it. When you've never had much love." Sookie said
"Oh, I know. I know. Believe me, I know. But it's...it's not working. You know, we're friends, is all. I mean, I'm not so easy to love either." Sam said
"You're wrong. Everyone deserves love." Maria said
Stackhouse Residence.
Sam and Sookie are watching at the tv. Maria walked in the living room.
"I'm tired. Head off to bed now." Maria said
"Night, Maria." Sookie said
"Night." Sam said
"Night, guys." Maria said
Maria walked upstairs and enters her room. She takes her clothes off and puts her pajamas on. Maria heard some fussing. She ran out of her room, ran downstairs, and sees Bill and Sam fighting. Bill tries to strangle Sam. Maria nails turned into claws and she stabbed Bill in the back. She let go of him. While he let go of Sam. Bill looked at Sookie.
"He had his hands all over you." Bill said
"She's not your property." Sam said
"Sam, I can speak for myself. (To Bill) You left me alone with no promise to come back. Then you attack the man helping Rose to keep me safe. How dare you?" Sookie asked Bill
"He's helping because I asked him to." Bill said
"Get out." Sookie said
"If you knew what I had done to return to you..." Bill said as Sookie cuts him off
"I rescind your invitation." Sookie said
"Sookie, don't. Please. Sookie. Please." Bill begged
Bill goes out and leaves while Sookie closes the door.
"Can't you see what he's really like? How can you think about being with him?" Sam asked Sookie
"My living room's wrecked. I've got a killer, a vampire and a shape-shifter on my plate. Right about now, I'm not thinking about being with anybody." Sookie said
Maria's cell phone vibrating. She answers.
"Hello?" Maria said
"Meet me upstairs." Eric said
Maria hanged up.
"It's not your mess. We'll clean up." Sookie said
"Are you sure?" Maria asked her sister

"I've missed you." Maria said
"How many times you've tell me that?" Eric asked Maria
"Very funny." Maria said
