Chloe and Clark were setting up for their official interview with Lex finally after waiting so long. Angela knelt on her knees on the sofa looking over the back of it giggling at Clark's clumsiness with the camera.
"Ok I got it working,"
"You sure?,"
"Yeah," Clark replied as Chloe sat down on the chair across from lex.
As Chloe began to start they were startled as three men just walked through the wall. Lex jumped up and quickly made his way to Angela as the guys faced them.
"Dude stay here and watch them," one of the guys motioned to the bulkiest of the group as the other two made their way to the vault.
Clark being Clark decided to try and stop them for the sake of his brother. As he went to attack the guy he was surprised as his strength weakened. Missing the chance the man gripped Clark in a headlock, punched him in the stomach, and threw him to the floor.
As he was occupied with Clark, Angela and Chloe ran for it. They had to divert upstairs as the other two came out near the front door from the vault. Reaching the fourth floor Angela and Chloe split up to find hiding spots.
Angela had just opened the door to the first room when she heard a sudden crash of glass. Rushing out she arrived at the broken window as the man who had followed them left down the stairs.
Sticking her head out the window Angela was dismayed to see Chloe laying in the grass injured. Pushing the rest of the broken glass out of her way Angela climbed out the window and jumped down to her unconscious friend.
Ripping her cell phone out of her pocket she had just called 911 as Lex and Clark arrived outside.
"Oh my god is Chloe ok?," Clark asked dropping to his knees beside their best friend.
"She has a broken arm, but I'm not risking moving her just in case ambulance be here soon,"
"The men left, I don't care about the vault right now I can check it later but I will make calls have the best brought here for Miss Sullivan," Lex piped up as he lifted his cell phone up to begin making the calls.
As the ambulance arrived Angela allowed Clark to ride with her with the promise that she would follow behind with Lex.
Twenty minutes later found Angela and Lex entering the hospital lobby. After retrieving the room number from the nurse they made their way into Chloe's hospital room.
"Hey Chlo how you feeling?," Angela asked as she made her way to the side Clark wasn't sitting on.
"Been better, said I have a broken arm and a concussion,"
"Damn, well you just rest I'll make sure Pete grabs your homework so you don't fall behind ok,"
"Thanks Ang," Chloe said with a small smile on her lips.
"The cops think the men who broke into your home Lex were the same ones who are responsible for the robberies throughout the country for the last six months,"
"I hope they find them. I will check the status of the vault for what they could have taken when we get home it can wait for now. The best doctors from metropolis will be here within the hour for Miss Sullivan,"
"Chloe," came the tired voice from the bed accompanied by a smirk.
"Chloe, it was the least I can do for any friend friend of yours," Lex replied sincerely.
As visiting hours ended Lex drove Clark home, and Angela decided to stay there for a bit to help her brother calm down. As Lex drove off with a promise from Angela to be home before it was too late she watched as Clark made his way to the wood pile.
"Clark you can't blame yourself,"
"I should have been there to stop that, to keep Chloe from getting hurt,"
"Clark something happened to both of us, I know you felt it too around them I just didn't tell Lex. Clark they are meteor infected," Angela explained as she watched her brother split logs with his bare hands.
"Then we deal with them, like we have dealt with the rest of them,"
"Clark how many people do you think we made sick coming here," Angela asked as she sat down against the log stump.
"Too many sis, but our parents wanted us here for a reason we must have a purpose,"
"I hope so I hate seeing how many people we made ill, and what our rocks cause,"
"I know sis, now come on up you get and get home," Clark said as he pulled Angela to her feet and shooed her off.
"I love you Clark,"
"I love you too Ang," he replied smiling finally as she took off running home.
The Next Day
Angela was walking down the street toward the flower shop from the beanery when she noticed Whitney and Lana in a deep discussion ahead of her.
"Hey you guys,"
"Angela did you know Lex bought my parent's places,"
"Yes but it wasn't him I bought them Lex just put his name on them,"
"Why?,"
"Your aunt needed the money and instead of seeing your memories destroyed I got them to save them,"
"Oh my god thank you Angela," Lana replied tearfully as she hugged her.
"Just make sure you have a good plan before you talk to Lex all he will want is a partnership as long as you can decide how to utilize the stores to make profits,"
"I will I promise," Lana replied as she and Whitney walked off.
Smiling Angela made her way to her Audi and got in to head to the farm.
At the mansion unbeknownst to Angela though as Lex spoke to the security firm he had for the lands he was suddenly corned by the masked men again.
"Luthor,"
"What do you want now?,"
"We have your special disc, you know the one that shows your scamming your father out of money to fund your private affairs, either you give us millions of dollars or we upload it to the internet," as the men gave their demands they exited the mansion again leaving a slightly concerned Lex sitting at his desk.
After picking up her brother Angela and Clark made their way into the medical center to visit Chloe again.
"Oh come now grumpy cat what's the long puss for,"
"He feels guilty for not being there for you Chlo,"
"Clark I don't blame anyone you were there for me after that's what matters,"
"You're right," Clark replied sitting on the chair beside Chloe's bed.
"I remembered something, the one that grabbed me had a octagon tattoo in green."
"I'll be back later I have to handle something," Clark said taking off suddenly.
"He ok?,"
"Yeah he will be once your back on your feet Chlo," Angela said taking the chair Clark had just got out of.
Fordman's
Entering the shop Clark was determined to get information out of Whitney.
"Whitney, the man with that octagon tattoo who was he?,"
"What does it matter to you?," Whitney sneered at Clark as he pushed past him to put stuff away.
"Cause we believe he was involved with shoving Chloe out of the 4th story window in Lex's mansion,"
"I dont care get out," Whitney snapped out as he lifted his right arm to shove Clark towards the door.
Clark's eyes widened as he saw the sleeve of Whitney's t-shirt lift revealing the same octagonal tattoo.
"You got to stay away from them Whitney they are bad news,"
"You don't know them now get out," Whitney shouted as Clark turned on his heel and exited the store before he could become ill from being around the tattoo too long.
Talon
"Lex, please I want to renovate the old theater to renew it back it's former glory as a pinnacle of the town,"
"You have yet to convince me Miss Lang, if you cannot then I will just have to turn it into a parking structure,"
"You will not," Angela said as she lightly slapped Lex on the arm as she sat the arm of his chair.
"Hey Angela,"
"Hey Lana, look I like the idea of restoring the theater but work on your concept, how to modernize it, to relive it,"
"Like what to add to attract?,"
"Exactly, you do that work on it a bit more then come to us ok?,"
"Yeah of course, thanks Angela," Lana replied smiling more as she became excited by the chance to save it.
As the meeting came to a close Angela left with a large Mocha and kissed Lex before climbing in her Audi to meet him at home.
The Mansion
"I have to meet them Angel,"
"Not alone you don't,"
"You sure as hell are not coming with me, did you not think I didn't see what their tattoo's did to you and Clark!,"
"Damn, hope you hadn't,"
"Nice try, I'll be careful love ok, I will even take the handgun this time,"
"Ok I can agree as long as you have that though I don't like you having it,"
"I know I'll be home soon," Lex replied as he grabbed the briefcase off his desk, placed a tender loving kiss upon Angela's lips and left to meet the blackmailers.
The Meatlocker
"Glad you were smart enough to come alone Luthor," the ringleader spoke as Lex stood in front of them.
"You have something of mine, I was willing to make the trade," Lex said as he patted the briefcase.
Passing them the briefcase it was suddenly tossed across the room as they became enraged at it being empty.
"You take us for fools Luthor!,"
"No I don't bargain with blackmailers, gentlemen I have now seen your faces either you return my disk or face jail time,"
"Never," as the ring leader said that he makes the motion to kill Lex.
"Guy's don't do this," Whitney began to beg as he watched what his suppose friends were about to do.
"You're lucky we got to go," the leader hissed at Lex as they grabbed Whitney and proceeded to leave.
Passing where Clark stood, having followed Whitney from Fordman's they notice him and hit him in the head with a meat hook as he called out Whitney's name. Who knew what these guys had in mind for them yet to come.
The next morning Clark popped his head in making Chloe and Pete laugh at his antics.
"Hey Clark," they said in unison.
"Hey Pete, Hey Chlo how you feeling?,"
"Better now," Chloe said as she began to turn her laptop towards clark.
"I think I figured out how those guys got through Lex's walls of his mansion,"
"Oh yeah how?,"
"Meteor rocks,"
"So the normal reason for most the things in this town," Clark said as he listened to Chloe's theory.
Suddenly Clark's phone starts ringing yanking it out of his pocket quickly before he got in trouble he hit answer.
"Hello?,"
"Clark, it's Whitney,"
"What's the unexpected call for Whitney?,"
"I wanted to give you a heads up since your so close to Lex as in your sister,"
"What about him?,"
"They are planning on killing Luthor," as Whitney dropped that bombshell he looked at his friends in worry.
"When?,"
"I don't know that just they are going to,"
"Thanks Whit..," but before he could finish his sentence Whitney had already hung up the call.
The Gang's Loft
Clark was concerned about entering the loft but he knew he had to do this to save Lex's life again. Scanning the room Clark spied the disk they spoke of in the ventilation ducts. Reaching up began to withdraw the disk as he heard the gang return.
"Looky what we got a boys a burglar give us the disk boy,"
"No," as Clark refused he crushed the disk in his fist so that if anything happened they wouldn't have their leverage against Lex no matter what.
All of a sudden a sudden pressure was against in his chest. Looking down Clark was scared for once as he saw Wade's hand in his chest.
Weakening from the effects of having a meteor infected hand in his chest he was reeling as they began to drag him out back to the old junk yard.
All he could do was watch as they threw Whitney on the ground, they thought it would be fun to try to put a car through him from what Clark could hear.
Suddenly there was a sudden buzz as Lex snuck up and tasered Scott. Wade seeing what happened weakened as their tattoos faded from bright to dull greens.
Rushing in Clark grabbed Whitney by the arm yanking him out of the way as the car fell crushing Wade.
Thankfully two of the three men were being arrested as Clark and Lex offered to get Whitney home.
The Next day
Angela wasn't too happy at what her brother and boyfriend went through last night but decided to push those feelings aside as they entered the Talon to discuss business with Lana again.
"Hey Lex and Angela,"
"Hey Lana,"
"Hello Miss Lang," Lex responded gesturing that they have a seat in a booth to discuss things.
"I've gone over business reports and tax breaks, and historical sites. My plan is to turn the Talon into a successful Cafe, bookstore, venue for local bands, and art house movies to turn income from multiple sources,"
"Im very impressed," Lex replied as he read through her documents.
"I have only one condition, for us to be made partners,"
"I know, Angela said you would want that so I am willing to do a 50/50 partnership for us,"
"I like that idea, Lex?,"
"As do I, you have a deal Miss Lang welcome to the business world," as Lex said that he shook her hand to finalize the deal. After a long few days this was a good end for once in Angela's opinion let's hope they continue this way.
