Heading downstairs as she buttoned up two of the four buttons on her blouse Angela entered the study mid sentence not noticing Lex had company.

"Lex have you seen?, oops sorry hope I didn't interrupt something,"

"No Angel you didn't what were you looking for?,"

"My backpack for school?,"

"Inside the second closet from the front door our dear friend cleaned this morning she had one of those full clean days of every little thing,"

"Oh good means lunch is in the kitchen then," laughed Angela as she left the study and grabbed her lunch before snatching up her bag and leaving for school.

"Girlfriend?,"

"Yes and no questioning her Dominic, you're not wanted here,"

"Well perhaps you can explain then the insane amount of money you spent researching the car crash with a Mr Kent,"

"None of your business, that matter is dealt with and all materials that were left from it were reused where needed around the plant and property,"

"You won't like this audit Alexander but I will dig up your skeletons," as the man said then he turned and left a fuming Lex standing behind his desk.

The Talon

The school day went by fast Clark and Angela decided to head to the Talon afterwards. Laughing as they entered Angela was happy to see her love there hugging him tight as she saw him.

"How'd that thing go,"

"Audit,"

"Damn well nothing to worry about you always handle everything,"

"He asked why I spent so much money on the crash,"

"I'm sure you can take care of him Lex you're smart like that,"

"Thank you love, I know how this guy is I'll handle it but with him snooping around I sent clothes for you and accessories to the farm if you don't mind stay with your parents for a few nights,"

"If you think that's best Lex sure I will I don't want the man to have any way of asking me anything I don't do well lying around things well except my secret,"

"I know love it's why I am doing this to protect you," Lex replied kissing her temple.

"Dad wants to go fishing again this year but sis I've grown out of it I don't want to go this year,"

"I know Clark but you know how dad is that time is his father son time you can't take that from him,"

"How about this instead of fishing I'll give you two tickets to the Metropolis Sharks game,"

"Wow thanks Lex," Clark exclaimed in surprise but happy at the fair trade for that weekend of fishing.

The Farmhouse

As Clark entered the farm house he noticed his dad packing for the fishing trip.

"Hey dad, um instead of fishing this year how would you like to see a football game?,"

"I knew this was going to come up, outgrown fishing right?,"

"Sorry dad I know you like it but I don't,"

"It's ok Clark we can go to the game thank Lex for me for the tickets," Jonathon said as he placed the fishing gear back in the hall closet.

At the mansion Lex had placed the call to his contact at the box office and had set it up for Clark and their dad for the weekend. The game, a night at the penthouse, and a good steak house dinner.

Angela smiled and kissed Lex for what he had done for their family before hearing a person clear their throat in the doorway.

"I'll see you tomorrow," Angela said as she begin to leave walking around Dominic as he made to turn to talk to her leaving quickly.

Angela felt bad for leaving Lex to deal with that guy but she made her way to her parents house for the night.

At School

The next day Clark and Angela were at school when Chloe approached them.

"Did you guy's hear about Mrs Sikes,"

"No what?,"

"She passed away last night,"

"Damn she was a nice lady it's sad to know she's gone," Angela replied sadly at the news.

"I don't think it was natural though they say fire but the house wasn't burnt only she was found in a pile of ash," Chloe said explaining the weird nature of how she was found.

"That is odd," Angela agreed at the coincidence.

"I found a article a corner in Metropolis was found the same way, I want to go to her house after school to investigate,"

"Sure, well i'm in what about you Clark?,"

"Sure got to keep you ladies out of trouble," at the comment the ladies laughed as they headed to their classes.

Mrs Sikes House

After school Chloe, Clark, and Angela got into Angela's Audi and made their way over to Mrs Sikes house. As they entered the house they noticed a small pile of ash by the door.

"Damn, it's pepper," Angela said picking up the dog tag that sat in the ashes.

"So if that happened to pepper it wasn't a fire or spontaneous combustion something or someone did this," Chloe said taking notes.

"Who could be so cold hearted to do this," Angela replied as she spied the white rose in the vase.

Mobile Meals

Martha decided to take extra produce to the Mobile meals company, least she felt she could do after the loss of Mrs Sikes.

"Here let me help with that," Tyler said reaching out to help only to have the food turn to ash as he touched it.

"It was you?, you killed Mrs Sikes,"

"I was only trying to help her,"

"Hank call the cops," Martha said turning to the young man who worked there besides them.

Tyler became scared as he turned to run Hank made the mistake of touching Tyler to stop him only to turn to ash himself.

"I didn't mean for any of this to happen but you've seen too much i have to get rid of witnesses," Tyler said approaching Martha slowly.

As he reached out to touch her Clark arrived just in time getting between them. Grabbing one of Tyler's hands the other touched his skin surprisingly beginning to turn him grey before he tossed Tyler into the wall.

Taking his mother's hand Clark gets them out of the building but thinking about what he had seen. Tyler's heart wasn't beating.

The Farm

Clark stood outside as Lex approached to see Angela but speak to him first.

"I think you should go fishing with your dad,"

"What but what happened with the football?,"

"You can do both football this weekend, fishing the next,"

"You think that will work?,"

"Yeah Clark I don't want to get between you and Jonathon so do both,"

"Thanks Lex," Clark replied patting his best friend on the back as Angela came out.

"Will he be gone soon?,"

"I hope love," Lex replied as he held Angela close and kissed her forehead.

"I miss sleeping beside you,"

"It isn't the same in our bed without you," Lex said agreeing with his Angel.

The Fordman House

The next day Chloe sent a sos message to Clark and Angela warning them that Tyler had tried to kill his mother but had failed, that he was trying to be a angel of death. That his next victim would be Mr Fordman.

As they read that Angela and Clark sped over to stop Tyler. Thankfully they had arrived in time seeing Tyler in the room with Whitney's father with him knocked out.

"Your mother's alive Tyler, you don't have to do this you weren't trying to relieve anyone's pain you were trying to deal with yours," Angela said trying to stop Tyler.

"Where is she?,"

"At home let's go see her ok," Angela said getting Tyler to agree.

Tyler's House

As they arrived at Tyler's home they entered quietly and approached the bed.

"You were right about the pain thing, thank you," without warning Tyler put his hands together turning himself to ash.

As Clark handled the aftermath Angela headed home. Luckily she caught Lex before he pulled out of the mansion driveway. She didn't know where he was going but she trusted that he was handling their situation by the living body in the trunk.

"Dominic," Angela said nodding towards the trunk.

"Will be gone tonight come home,"

"Thank you love, also can you pull a few strings try to get the sharks to come to town do a little bit of football stuff for the Fordman's,"

"I can do that I know it's for his dad," Lex agreed before kissing Angela and driving off.

Smallville High

The next day the group got together to giving Mr Fordman a proper send off. The Sharks were playing a bit of football practices with Whitney on the Smallville High field. Clark, Angela, Chloe, Lana, Lex, Pete, Martha, Jonathon, Nell, and Mr Fordman sat in the bleachers watching. Mr Fordman's eyes were filled with pride for his son and they knew this was the right thing to do. To lose a parent or a member of their community was heart breaking but this would be how they remembered him proud of his son playing the quarter back role, and surrounded by friends.
