"I hate this day,"Angela said rolling her eyes as they walked around Smallville High seeing all the people involved with Career day.

"This is going to help your future though," Chloe piped up excited about it.

"I don't have to worry Lex has already signed me to be in charge of his payroll and media departments when I finish high school,"

"That's a lot of responsibility," Pete responded surprised.

"It is but I can take it to where it needs to go, good PR, and better pays and benefits for employees,"

"True, I'm glad you're going to be in charge of it," Pete agreed at the good things that will come from it.

"Have you gotten any offers yet Pete," Angela asked curious.

"Yeah I'm now working for the re-election campaign for Mayor Siegel,"

"Nice job, what about you Clark?,"

"Danny Kwan has asked me to join the Air Force,"

"You know dad won't allow that, neither will I it's too dangerous bro," Angela said surprised that he given such a offer.

"I know sis it's why I turned it down,"

"Thank you bro," Angela gave Clark a small smile considering their secret that job would have been way too dangerous for their secrets.

"I'm nervous I'm trying to get one of the four positions for students at the Daily Planet,"

"I'm sure you will get it Chloe you're the only reporter here and the best,"

"Wow thanks Angela for the vote of confidence,"

"You're welcome," Angela said knowing she had to be somewhat nice to Chloe for Clark's sake.

"There's always the Metropolis Inquisitor too Chloe,"

"I know Pete but I have my heart set on this,"

"Well at least you can try again at the journalism convention,"

"Oops,"

"What Clark?,"

"I forgot to register for the tickets,"

"Nice going Clark you keep neglecting us for Lana and Lex," Chloe barked out in near tears as she stormed off.

"Way to go bro that was a big screw up,"

"How it was a accident?,"

"She really likes you man she had her heart set on going to the convention and being able to spend the day with you, she was also going to ask you to the spring formal,"

"Oh I had no idea,"

"Cause when it comes to women your clueless bro," Angela pointed out shaking her head.

The Torch Office

As Chloe sat at her computer she heard footsteps and assuming it was Clark ignored the person.

"Hey Chloe,"

"Justin! Hey I didn't realize it was you welcome back how are you?,"

"I'm ok but I wont be able to draw for the Torch anymore, the crash and the doctor ruined my hands i am unable to do much anymore,"

"Oh wow I'm sorry to hear that Justin that really sucks,"

"Thanks for understanding Chloe, why don't we go get coffee and catch up," Justin asked giving her a shy smile.

"Sure Justin," grabbing her jacket Chloe took off with Justin just as Clark showed up to talk to her.

A few hours later Clark went back to the office finding not only Chloe but Justin too.

"Hey Chloe, I was able to get us tickets to the convention,"

"I won't be going with you Clark, I will be going with Justin, and helping him investigate his accident without you,"

"Wow ok then I see where I'm not wanted," Clark replied angrily storming out after he went out of his way asking Lex for a favor to get to the convention for her.

Kent Farm

Clark stood in the corner taking his frustrations out on the punching bag Lex had installed for him in the loft when he heard footsteps on the stairs he stopped and turned to greet the person.

"Hey Lana,"

"Hey Clark, so what's going on between you and Chloe?,"

"How should I know i accidentally forgot to get tickets to the convention I go to Lex and ask a favor and instead of going with me she takes them and decides to go with Justin instead,"

"Wow that's not nice," Lana replied sitting down on the couch in the loft.

"From what I heard she liked me and honestly I felt a little jealous when I saw her with Justin there might be a chance we could be more then friends but she won't even talk to me now she is busy with Justin,"

"I understand Clark, I hope things work out between you both you deserve a chance at happiness too like Angela and Lex, and me and Whitney,"

"Thanks Lana," Clark smiled as he joined Lana on the couch.

Metorpolis Graveyard

Angela and Lex made their way to the marble tomb that sat in the quiet graveyard. It was the ninth anniversary since the passing of Lillian Luthor, Lex's mother and they had flown out to pay their respects.

Angela let Lex go ahead to give him the few minutes to talk to his mother as she stood back at a distance.

When Lex returned she stepped forward as Lex gave her the few moments as well to herself to place her roses in the flower holder on the tomb and to quietly thank his mother for the gift of him cause he grew up into a wonderful man that would make her proud.

Turning to leave Lex and Angela came face to face with someone from Lex's past.

"Pamela Jenkins, what are you doing here?," Lex asked wondering what reason she had to visit his mother grave.

"Just came to pay my respects Alexander,"

"That better be all," Lex snapped out as he guided Angela around her and left the graveyard.

"Not a friendly face from the past?,"

"No and one I'd rather leave there,"

"I understand love," Angela replied kissing Lex's cheek before they got back into their limo.

The Talon

As Clark entered the Talon carrying the pies he was asked to deliver he was surprised to see Whitney.

"Hey man how's it going?,"

"Good Clark really good dad is on the mend, and I got Lana and I tickets to see Our town at the Metropolis Play House,"

"That's great to hear about your dad Whitney I'm happy for you,"

"Thanks Clark," Whitney replied helping Clark place the pies on the counter after clearing some space for him before kissing Lana's cheek and leaving.

"You don't seem thrilled about the play,"

"It's not the play Clark, his dad's illness defined our relationship. now that Mr. Ford is getting better we have to redefine it and it isn't easy,"

"Nothing ever is these days even you know that,"

"True thanks for bringing these over Clark,"

"You're welcome Lana," Clark said as he accepted the money for them and made his way out of the Talon.

The Torch

Justin made his way into the office to give Chloe the portrait he recently made for her.

"Great news Justin I gave my contact at the DMV the partial license plate number you gave me and they are going to see if they can match it,"

"That's great, you know Chloe when I got hit all I could think about was you when I was laying in the road," Justin replied as he handed Chloe the portrait.

"Aww this is so sweet Justin thank you," Chloe said placing the picture on her desk.

"I have a crush on you Chloe and before the accident I regret not doing anything but now that I lived through it I don't want to regret anything else it's why I want to have a chance to be with you,"

"Oh Justin," Chloe was so touched she leaned over and kissed Justin.

As she opened her eyes she was shocked as she saw objects in the room floating causing her to break the kiss and the objects falling.

"That's another thing, I don't want to be apart of your wall Chloe but ever since the accident I've been telekinetic,"

"Don't worry I won't tell anyone your secret," Chloe said as she leaned over kissing Justin again.

All of a sudden Clark burst in without knocking interrupting the moment.

"Give me a minute," Chloe said leaving the room to talk to Clark.

As Chloe left the room the fax machine went off printing out a single piece of paper. Curious Justin took the fax out of the machine, and was happy to see the paper was from the DMV about the car that hit him. He had them and he would have his revenge.

Luthor Mansion

Angela was in the pool room swimming as Lex was in the office getting some paperwork done when the doorbell rang throughout the mansion. Deciding to let Lex answer it she continued swimming.

Lex sat at his desk as he heard the footsteps of his guest enter the room turning around his anger flared up again as he came face to face with Pamela Jenkins again.

"What are you doing here I don't want you in our home get out,"

"Lex will you just listen to me for two minutes. I didn't leave on my own your father made me leave after your mother's death,"

"I don't care what you have to say get out," Lex demanded.

As she left Angela entered the office and quietly made her way up to Lex's side kissing his temple while he sat in his chair again.

"Want to just relax tonight love movie and take out,"

"Please," nodding Angela headed to the kitchen letting Maria know they were going to order out and just have a them night to go home and eat with her family.

After heading upstairs and redressing while she called and ordered the food she rejoined Lex downstairs. Taking his hand she led him from the office and went to the small media room they had down the hall. Tonight was about them relaxing after the events of the last twenty four hours.

The Next Day

Clark spent the day in his loft after school trying to think about how to get Chloe to listen to him, and talk to him. He turned his head slightly when he heard footsteps on the stairs and was happy to see Lex coming up the stairs.

"What's going on Clark you got your thinking face on,"

"Funny Lex, trying to figure out how to work things out with Chloe,"

"Didn't those tickets help?,"

"No, well yes in a way but she decided to go with her new boyfriend Justin rather then me,"

"Ah you're jealous,"

"Am not,"

"Are too Clark, you like Chloe don't you,"

"Maybe, i admit I got a little jealous when I caught them kissing the other day but she is mad at me how can I tell her I want a chance with him around,"

"It might not last Clark don't count yourself out yet ok,"

"Thanks Lex,"

"No problem it's what brothers are for," Lex said giving Clark a pat on the shoulder.

"Clark hunnie,"

"Yeah mom up here with Lex," he yelled back as he heard her come up the steps.

"I just received the call your principal Kwan has died in a accident,"

"Thanks mom," Martha nodded knowing he had to accept it himself cause of everything that was going on in their town lately.

At School

Clark entered the Torch finding a upset Chloe typing away at the computer.

"Principal Kwan's memorial issue,"

"Yes,"

"Need help?,"

"Not from you," Chloe replied causing Clark to nod his head and leave again seeing she was still upset, but not before he saw the DMV paper that read that Kwan's car had the plate DDI, and he knew then that Justin had to be involved.

Kwan House

Clark made his way to the house to on one hand check out the scene, and on the other give his condolences to Danny Principal Kwan's son.

As he arrived and knocked Danny opened the door looking like he hadn't slept yet.

"Hey Danny,"

"Hey Clark,"

"Wanted to give you my condolences on your dad,"

"Thanks Clark,"

"You're welcome, Danny was Justin here last night?,"

"Yeah he thought it was dad that had hit him with his car it wasn't though Clark he was just trying to protect me,"

"I understand Danny I'll try to figure this out for you and get it handled ok, but for now it might be best if you at least go down and explain it was a accident with you being underage they will take into consideration that you were just scared,"

"Ok Clark thank you," as Danny closed the door Clark shook his head and began to investigate the scene to find out how he could help put Justin away for murder.

The Talon

Martha sat in the talon with Jonathon, Clark, Angela, Lana, and Lex discussing the Justin situation.

"You did the right thing Clark having Danny Kwan turn himself in it was the right thing to do,"

"i know at least that should keep Justin away from him for a bit til I can stop him,"

"I'm sure Justin will be stopped Clark just have to find the right evidence," Lex said as he sipped his coffee with one hand while the other was around Angela.

Suddenly Clark's phone began to ring. Pulling it out of his pocket he is surprised it says Farm when they were all there.

"Hello,"

"Clark help!," was all Chloe could get out before Justin arrived ripping the phone out of her hand mentally.

"I got to go," Clark said running out speeding to the farm.

As he arrived he was upset to see Chloe injured in the barn with Justin standing over her with a chainsaw.

"Justin! leave her alone,"

"No Clark she knows my secrets I can't let her stop me," Clark couldn't let this continue as he sped towards Justin and knocked him out by tossing him hard into the barn wall.

Rushing over to Chloe as she came back around he held her close as she began crying in his arms.

The Mansion

Lex sat in the office as Angela was working out in their gym when all of a sudden his father entered the room.

"What do you want father,"

"I came to inform you we're selling Cadmus Labs,"

"Must I remind you I own fifty percent of that lab and with veto rights. What I am more curious about is Pamela Jenkins, I received two visits from her,"

"She probably just wants money, she is currently dying from cancer Lex and couldn't handle it when I released her after your mother's death,"

"Thank you for letting me know father now you can get out of my home," with pursed lips Lionel stormed out.

Lex was surprised he had no idea she was sick pausing a moment to figure out what to do he noticed a book he had seen Pamela admiring.

Picking it up Lex made his way to the gym interrupting Angela's workout.

"I'll be back in a bit I have a errand to run,"

"Want me to go or just set up the media room?,"

"Media room I'm going to need it when I get back,"

"Ok love be safe," Angela replied as Lex kissed her and headed out to the hospital.

Pamela's Hospital Room

"Wish you had told me you were sick,"

"Didn't want you thinking I wanted money Alexander, I just wanted forgiveness for being away so long,"

"I do forgive you Pamela," Lex replied as he pulled the book out of his coat.

"Noticed you eyeing it enjoy it Pamela," Lex said seeing the smile that graced her lips.

"I'm proud of you Lex you have become a very good man different then your father,"

"Thank you Pamela," Lex said as he hugged her before leaving.

The Talon

"I'm sorry I didn't listen to you Clark,"

"I forgive you Chloe you were upset with me over other issues there was a lot going on,"

"True Clark at least Justin is in a psych ward and can't hurt anyone anymore," Chloe replied nodding her head.

"Will you come with me to the convention now?,"

"Yes," Chloe said smiling at the chance to say yes again.

The bell rang above the Talon door and in walked Whitney everyone paused in their conversations at the sullen look on his face.

"My dad's dead," those three words caused such a heavy feeling in the room no one knew what to say.

That evening it began raining as the town gathered to say goodbye to Mr Ford. He at least accomplished seeing his son do good things, and they would all miss him. It wasn't easy losing another member of their community and so it was going to be a sad time for awhile for everyone.
