"You've met Casey, Tatum, and Randy," Stu began as he led his new friend and the newest Woodsboro resident, Billy Loomis, to the water fountain where he and his group had their lunch every day. "But there is one more person that you haven't met, and I think she'll be your favorite."

Billy's eyebrows rose at that claim. Stu may not have explicitly stated it, but the brooding boy knew what the underlying message was: "You hate everyone else, but maybe you'll like this one."

It wouldn't be a lie if he had said it, though. Billy really didn't like anyone in Stu's group.

Casey Becker was Stu's girlfriend. The blonde was nice enough, he supposed, but that was also the problem. She was way too welcoming to every guy she set her gaze on, and the sugary sweet tone she used when she welcomed him to their town made his skin crawl. The girl had serious slut potential, and he knew it would only be a matter of time before she showed it. Stu may be a goofball from what Billy's seen, but the guy didn't deserve that.

Tatum Riley was also a blonde, but she looked like she was more in between a blonde and a redhead than Casey. She was also a bitch. Meeting her yesterday was about as pleasant to Billy as a conversation between just himself and his father. She was sarcastic, sharp, and icy and she always stared at him with this calculating gaze like she was trying to pick him apart. It bothered him.

One thing that he noticed that interested him, though, was how critical she was of Casey. Tatum never said anything, but he saw the way she'd glare at her whenever she and Stu were doing anything lovey dovey; she was jealous of them. And whenever Casey was talking to another guy…the girl's face would darken and her eyes would grow angry as if she was trying to make the phrase if looks could kill a reality. Casey being a slut was apparently the only thing the two of them could agree on.

Finally, there was Randy Meeks. Billy thought Tatum to be a pain in the ass already, but Randy…he only had one conversation with the kid and Billy was ready to blow the geek's brains out. He was a horror nerd and normally that wouldn't bother him because horror movies were his favorite and he knew a lot of movie trivia from that genre himself, but Randy took it to extremes. He always applied horror tropes to everything and was so matter-of-fact in his explanations that it sounded condescending. He despised everything about the little weasel: his voice, his hair, his eyes…everything. He had a feeling that he wouldn't change his opinion about Randy anytime soon.

"I hope she's here today," Stu mumbled as they approached the water fountain.

"Okay, who is she?" Billy asked.

But Stu didn't answer him. Instead his face lit up and he called out: "Sid! You're here!" He waved his hand wildly in the air before he rushed over to the brunette sitting between Tatum and Randy.

Stu was blocking his way, so Billy couldn't see who this Sid was yet, but judging by the taller blonde's excitement upon seeing her, she must be this "one more person" that he hasn't met yet who could very well be his favorite.

'We'll see about that,' he thought dryly.

"Hey, Stu," a sweet voice greeted the blonde who was still blocking Billy's vision.

Billy felt himself perk up a bit. He didn't know why, but he wanted to know the face behind that soothing voice.

"You weren't here yesterday. We looked for you and we were down one group member."

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that. By the time Mom, Dad, and I got back from our vacation, it was really early in the morning and we just wanted to sleep, so they let me miss school. Too bad, too, since it was the first day back from summer break. Did I miss anything?"

"You sure did! We got a new student!"

"Really?" Sid's voice went a bit high in intrigue, and Billy felt his heart skip a few beats. He didn't know why he liked the sound of her interest so much…

"Yeah! His name is Billy Loomis and he moved here a couple of weeks ago, while you were still on vacation with your folks, although yesterday was the first day anyone ever spoke to him."

"Is he here?" His heart beat a little faster when excitement mixed with the interest.

That's when Stu finally stepped aside and the second his eyes settled on this Sid girl, he swore he stopped breathing for a moment.

She was beautiful. Her long, wavy, brown hair fell down her back and around her shoulders, and he found himself wanting to reach out and take the strands between his fingers to see if they were as silky as they looked. Her skin was light and her brown eyes were bright and fascinated by the sight of a new person. Her lips were pink and full and he had this crazy urge to pull her close and kiss her. Staring at the brunette beauty before him, Billy wanted nothing more than to know her.

"Sid, this is Billy Loomis, the new kid," Stu introduced, glancing back and forth between them with an impish, almost knowing grin. "Billy, this is Sidney Prescott. She's Tatum's and my best friend since childhood."

Sidney. Even her name was beautiful.

"It's nice to meet you, Billy," her voice was like a siren song, pulling him closer to her. "I hope you like Woodsboro."

Billy stepped forward to shake Sidney's proffered hand, and he heard the hitches in their breathing when he felt the sparks that instantly ran through them at the contact. "I think I'm going to like this place just fine," he commented, giving the loveliest girl he'd ever met a charming smile.

Sidney returned his charismatic smile with a bright one of her own, and it lit up her eyes so they reminded him of milk chocolate. "I'm glad to hear that," she said.

Billy smoothly managed to sit beside her, shoulder checking Randy to the side and almost making the annoying kid lose his balance.

'Serves you right, you perverted freak,' Billy thought harshly, a flash of rage burning his blood when he remembered the way Randy stared at Sidney's chest whenever she wasn't looking.

For the entire lunch period, all Billy did was talk to Sidney and exchange information with her. He realized that he was sharing more about himself and his life before the move with her than he had with anyone, let alone a girl. Stranger still…he didn't care at all about it.

"So, man," Stu began as he leaned against the locker beside Billy's as the dark blonde was rifling through his own. "What do you think of Sidney?"

Billy looked at him once he exchanged one textbook for another. "She's nice," he answered.

"Is she your favorite?"

Eyebrows raised, Billy returned the question with one of his own: "Why? You trying to set me up with her or something?"

'You wouldn't be opposed,' a little voice in the back of his head piped up.

"Why? Do you want her?"

'Fuck yes I do.'

"Only if she wants me," he replied. He knew that she felt something, too. Sidney Prescott wasn't just going to be his favorite person in Woodsboro; she was going to be the one he loved the most, he could feel it.

"Oh, she does. I've known Sid all my life and she totally does."

"So, what was that earlier? You and Loomis were practically eye fucking each other at the water fountain," Tatum questioned her best friend as she enjoyed the tiny lollipop she pulled from her bag.

Sidney blushed. "Quiet, Tay," she laughed.

"Oh, please," Tatum rolled her eyes. "This entire hallway is filled with useless chattering. No one is going to hear us."

"You'd be surprised," Sidney claimed.

"You like him, don't you? I saw the way you looked at each other."

"Would it bother you if I said yes? You don't seem to like him."

Tatum shrugged, her lips popping as she removed the lollipop from her mouth again. "Jury's still out, but if you like him, give it a go. Just expect me to be very protective of my unbiological sister," she said, giving her best friend a smile.

Sidney let her hair hide her face, her cheeks painted red now with a deep blush. "I'm interested, but only if he wants me," she admitted. She felt the spark that ran through her entire body when their hands touched earlier. Billy Loomis was going to be a very important person in her life, she knew it.

"Oh, trust me, Sid…I'm an expert on body language and that boy already has it bad for you."
