Kate's POV
Time seemed to stop completely as I stared at my lover, awake. I felt like I had been waiting for so long, like I would never see him again. I felt my body start to shake as I felt tears start to build as I gritted my teeth.
"Ri… Rick!" I cried as I ran over to the bed and scooped him up. I pulled him into a hug making him yell loudly in pain. I dropped him immediately. "oh , I'm so sorry, Rick I… I missed you" I cried, hugging him again but this time without pulling him. He grunted but then returned the hug the best that he could.
"You smell nice," He said. I laughed and then broke the hug to make eye contact with him.
"I'm so glad you're okay," I said.
"I told you that I wasn't going anywhere, I promised all of you that" Rick said.
"We believed you buddy, but please, don't do that to us again" Humphrey said. I started to rub his chest and then made eye contact again.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Sore, but as long as I don't push my body I should be okay" Rick answered.
"You were out for a long time, I was starting to think we wouldn't see you all week" Lilly said.
"What day is it?" Rick asked.
"It's Sunday," Humphrey answered.
"Sunday? I missed the whole weekend?" Rick asked.
"Well it's not like you'll have to go to school right away, if anything you'll most likely start christmas break early" Lilly explained.
"And I'll be with you, oh Rick I'm so sorry that I let this happen" I said.
"You didn't know it was happening, I'm just glad you're alright" Rick said. Of course he would feel that way. Always putting others before himself.
"So Rick… I don't know if it's too soon, but could you possibly tell us what happened?" Lilly asked as she sat down. I was sitting on the bed so Humphrey took the chair next to me.
"Garth he… he must have put something in my drink, there was some girl trying to get in my pants, I guess while I had my back turned he did it. He took me over to the silo down the street and beat me while I was unconscious and then…" Rick stopped.
"And then…" Humphrey urged.
"With the drugs, alcohol they shoved down my throat and full stomach I puked on him" Rick said. Humphrey began to laugh.
"You puked on him? Way to go" he said.
"That's why he stabbed me" Rick then said, making Humphrey stop. "He told me he was gonna go back to the house and drug Kate and then take her upstairs, he said I was gonna bleed out while he destroyed you" Rick said.
"I knew it," I scoffed.
"I had to make sure you were okay, after they left I called you, warned you, and then sent my location, thank God you found me" Rick said.
"I wish we would have been there sooner" I said.
"You said they… how many were there?" Lilly asked.
"Three… There were three. Hutch and Cando" Rick said.
"That's who we saw with him that night" I said. "Rick… the cops went after Garth, we told them what happened and they got him, now you have a court date, that date is not set though until they know you're up" I explained.
"What? You told them? How did you know?" Rick asked.
"The dumbass was stupid enough to show back up with a bloody hand, we saw it while we were walking out" I said.
"Thank you Kate, thank you all… you saved me" Rick said.
"Kate really put in work, she gave you blood when you don't have a lot" Lilly said.
"you?... " Rick started to ask but didn't finish his question. He pulled me into a hug and started to tear up. "Thank you" he whispered in my ear. I hugged him back as I felt my own tear roll down my cheek.
"Holy shit, we have to tell Angel, once she knows you're up she'll be so happy" Lilly explained as she pulled out her phone. She dialed Angel and then stopped. "Wait… you talk to her" Lilly said, handing Rick the phone. Rick smiled and took it and proceeded to put it on speaker. It rang one,two, three times until Angel picked up.
"Hey Lilly what goin on?" Angel asked. I snickered as Humphrey and Lilly smiled, waiting for Rick to speak. I felt excited as I waited for her reaction. Rick smiled as he held the phone to his mouth.
"Hey Angel," Rick said. The other end was silent for a moment until we heard a sniff from the phone.
"Rick?" Angel cracked. She was already crying.
"Did my baby sister miss me?" Rick asked. We heard light sobbing over the phone for about seven seconds.
"I grabbed it, it's in Kate's car" Lilly said. We all glanced over to Lilly and then Rick laughed.
"Good shit Lills" he said.
"You're jacket is in my car too, you're other clothes are in a bag over there" I said as I pointed to a bag on the counter next to my dirty clothes.
"Nice," Rick replied.
"So you were in a coma for a while, aren't you thirsty?" I asked.
"We got him some water while you were in the shower, believe me, he sucked it down" Lilly answered.
"I heard you didn't leave my side the whole time. Why didn't you go home?" Rick asked.
"Because… because I love you" I answered.
"I love you too, but I don't want you trapping yourself in here just because I am" Rick said.
"Well you don't have to worry about that. It's not gonna happen again" I said. Just then the doctor came in. flipping through notes on a clipboard.
"Alright, glad to see you're finally awake, how are you feeling?" he asked.
"Sore but… okay otherwise" Rick answered. I rested my hand on his arm and he glanced at me for a moment. He then turned back to the doctor as I continued to hold him.
"We'll give you something for the pain, in terms of when you can leave we'll keep you one more night just to keep an eye on how you're feeling. If you feel the same tomorrow we'll prescribe you some pain meds and you'll be free to go" the doctor explained.
"Thanks," Rick nodded.
"Of course, and if you're hungry then the number to the kitchen is on the phone, or if you need anything else then call for one of us, other than that I'll be right back with a pill for ya" the doctor said. He then walked out of the room quickly.
"Well at least you're not on a liquid diet" I said.
"Kate, I know you'll want to stay with me, but you should go home, I'm fine, you don't need to spend any more time here" Rick told me.
"Like hell" I whispered. I gave his cheek a kiss and smiled. "Sorry but lips are gonna be for after you brush your teeth" I teased.
"Understandable," Rick smiled.
"I'm sure they'll have something for him," Lilly said.
"We'll just ask the doctor when he comes back," Humphrey suggested.
"Ask me what?" the doctor asked as he came back in the room with a pill and a cup. He handed them to Rick and then turned to the two. Rick took the pill and then sipped from the cup as Lilly spoke.
"We were wondering if maybe you had something like a toothbrush?" Lilly started making a motion as if she were brushing her teeth.
"We have a brush for him but it will be a little christmas tree brush" the doctor said.
"That's okay," Rick said. The doctor nodded.
"I'll grab ya one then" he was then off, leaving us alone again.
"While he grabs that lets see if you can move" Humphrey said as he walked over to the bed. I stood up as well and took the blankets off of him, walking around to Humphreys' side as Rick turned to him.
"Alright, just do it slowly, '' I instructed. Rick gritted his teeth and grunted as he turned his body. I put my hand behind his back to help him stand up and pulled him towards me. I held his hand to pull that as well while Humphrey mirrored me. With one quick motion, we helped Rick get to his feet.
"How are you feeling?" Humphrey asked.
"It hurts where I got stabbed but it's managable, it feels great to stand up though, fuck" Rick said. Just then the doctor came in with the brush and simply held it out to Rick. Rick took it and then the doctor spoke again.
"Call us if you need anything else '' he said. "Oh one more thing, I'll be calling your parents to let them know everything, just a heads up"
"Thanks," Rick called. The doctor nodded and then left the room, closing the curtain behind him.
"It's mint flavored, I still have some toothpaste though" I said as I walked over to the counter and grabbed it, meanwhile Rick slowly walked over to the bathroom door. I grabbed the bottle and handed it to him. "You gonna be okay in there?" I asked.
"Yeah" Rick answered and then went inside. It wasn't long until we heard the sink start running.
"So when did he wake up?" I asked.
"About ten minutes after you went in," Lilly answered.
"We couldn't believe it, it's like the one time you weren't next to him and he woke up" Humphrey said. I felt my ears flatten as I realized it was true.
"Humphrey" Lilly scolded.
"What? It's true" Humphrey said.
"It's just bullshit" I said. "Whatever though, I'm glad he's awake.
"Things are gonna go back to normal," Lilly said. I walked over and took a seat on the bed as Lilly sat next to me on my left and Humphrey sat in a chair on my right. The chair I was sitting in all weekend.
"It's a start" I sighed.
"Now that Rick is feeling better, we should all do something with him," Humphrey suggested.
"Well he has that court date, and then we'll have two thing's to celebrate" I explained.
"And Christmas is right around the corner," Lilly added.
"I'm on my way" Angel said in a whisper and then hung up.
"I guess she's on her way," Rick said as he handed Lilly her phone.
"What about your parents?" I asked.
"Angel will probably tell them on the way over here, but I dont have my phone on me. I left it on the ground" Rick said.
"We have a lot to celebrate, '' I said. To my right I saw Humphrey smirk at something Lilly was doing. I turned quickly to see her put her hands down. She was motioning something to Humphrey and apparently it was funny.
"What?" Lilly asked. I smiled and shook my head but before I could say anything we heard the shower start up.
"Is he showering?" Humphrey asked. I stood up and walked over to the counter where I grabbed the soap bottle and wash rag. I then walked to the bathroom door and knocked on it.
"Hey Rick? Take this" I said. The door opened up a crack and I put my hand through it to give him the items. I felt him take them.
"Thanks" he said before shutting the door.
"Did you just give him You're dirty washcloth?" Lilly asked.
"I used it once, besides it's not like he hasn't been in and over me before '' I said.
"He's gonna smell girly," Humphrey said.
"I don't think he cares, a shower will probably feel so good for him" I said after sitting back down. Ithen pulled my phone out and messaged the group chat. I sent a quick. "He's awake girls' ' and then hit send.
"Who are you texting?" Lilly asked.
"My group chat, they've been asking about Rick ever since he's been in here" I explained. I then swiped over to Angel and dialed her again, putting the phone to my ear.
"You're calling her again?" Lilly asked.
"Just telling her to tell her parents, I don't have their number" I said. The phone rang for a biit and then Angel answered.
"Hey, we're almost there," Angel said.
"Yeah, I just wanted to make sure that you told your parents is all" I said.
"Yeah, that's who's driving me, I told Shaky too, he's on his way" Angel said. That's right, Angel went home last night, not over Shaky's. Whoops.
"Alright, I'll see you guys soon" I said.
"Bye" Angel said and then hung up. I looked at the phone again to see that I had a message from the girls.
W. really? That's great Kate. I'm so happy for you guys.
S. bet he's getting the royal treatment tonight.
C. good, tell him we said hi and best wishes.
K. will do, thanks girls.
S. you bet
W. you know we're always here for you.
S. so what's the plan now?
K. he has to stay one more night and then he's free.
C. Are you gonna stay with him?
K. yeah, I feel like we have so much time to make up for.
W. well just take it easy on him, you said he would be in pain when he woke up.
K. were not doing anything, I just want to be with him.
W. just saying.
S. just let us know when we can finally meet him, jeez Kate I never thought you would drool like this over a guy.
K. I wouldn't call it drooling.

K. I'm gonna go now girls, thanks for being there for me.
Before any of them sent a response I closed my phone and put it back in my pocket. Lilly and Humphrey were talking about something, not sure what but I didn't care. What I did care about was Rick stepping out of the bathroom. He turned out the bathroom light and kept the door open a crack. He turned to walk back to the bed, meanwhile me and Lilly stood up off the bed, except Lilly didn't wrap her arms around Rick and give him a huge kiss on the lips. I closed my eyes to savor it while Rick kissed me back, rubbing my back and playing with my ear like he always did when he kissed me or made love to me. He loved playing with my ear, and I always loved the feeling. It made me melt into the kiss even more than I already did. I eventually broke the kiss and smiled.
"I've been waiting to do that for so long," I said.
"I missed that sweet taste too," Rick said calmly. He then pecked my lips not once but twice, going for another long kiss until Lilly groaned.
"I'm surprised you didn't have a toothbrush on standby so you could do that" Lilly teased. Me and Rick laughed and then strolled over to the bed. Rick laid down again and then patted the spot next to him. I sat beside him but did not lay down.
"Shower feel good?" Humphrey asked.
"That, and brushing my teeth, never felt fresher" Rick answered.
"It's still gonna feel good to do it in our own homes though" I said. Before anyone could say anything else, Angel and her parents came into the room.
"Rick" Angel whispered as she ran over to the bed.
"No no Angel wait- AH!" Rick cried out as Angel practically jumped on him. She didn't seem to notice though and not long after he hugged her back and smiled. "I missed you too"
"No, not as much as we did," Angel cried, breaking the hug. "Never do that to us again" she sobbed. Delores and Dwayne walked over to the bed and Delores brushed Rick's cheek with her hand.
"My boy… thank God you're awake" she said.
"We missed ya bro" Dwayne said. Bro? Did he just call his son bro? This dude probably lives off of gatorade.
"Apparently I was out the whole weekend," Rick said.
"Yeah, and that's too long to not have you home, where you belong," Delores said.
"Rick I hope you don't mind but I slept in your bed a bit" Angel said. Not gonna lie my heart sank a little when she said that. Me and Rick really got into it in his bed, I know she definitely smelled us and what we did. Did she sleep under the covers? I sprayed all over them. Oh no…
"Not at all," Rick said with a smile. I guess he didn't mind.
"So they phoned us and said you should be set to come home tomorrow, are you okay with that?" Dwayne asked. Rick nodded.
"Oh I wish you could come home today, I could take you home if you want" Delores said.
"No mom, no it's… I probably should stay here another night, if that's what they think is best" RIck said. Delores sighed.
"Hey Angel, is Shaky on his way?" Humphrey asked.
"He was on his way to pick me up but we got the call from Kate, I told him what you said and-"
"Holy shit, have a good sleep my guy?" Shaky said as he walked into the room, cutting Angel off.
"Thanks for cutting me off, dick" Angel said. Shaky laughed.
"Hello to you too" he said and then gave her a quick kiss. He then went to say hi to Rick but Dwayne interrupted.
"What? How long has this been going on?" he asked.
"Not long sir, about a week," Shaky answered.
"Shaky, you're dating Shaky?" Dwayne asked.
"Uh-huh," Angel said.
"Nice," Dwayne replied. He had such douche bag vibes and I loved it. Shaky started talking to Rick, catching up and such. Meanwhile Delores asked me a question.
"Kate, honey are you staying tonight too?" she asked.
"I was going to, unless you want to" I said, hoping that she wasn't. Selfish I know but I didn't want to leave him yet.
"No,no it's fine, he probably wants you here more anyway. Thank you for staying with him for so long" she replied.
"The pleasure is all mine," I said.
"Ohh, you're such a good girl, I'm glad my son is dating you" she said. Odd, considering what happened on friday night, maybe that's why her behavior has changed so much. Does she feel bad? Is she trying to kiss up to me to make up for it? Either way I'm just happy that she's happy. Everyone spent two hours there, until they left one by one. The first to leave was Humphrey and Lilly, I guess it was fair, they had already stayed so long. They said we would do something once Rick got out and left. The next was Rick's parents. Angel said she was going to stay with Shaky so they left to go run some errands. It makes sense, from what I've seen they work a lot. Now it was just me, Rick, Shaky, and Angel.
"So, court date. My guess is that you'll be doing it on tuesday" Angel said.
"Most likely," Rick answered.
"Oh my God I wish I could be there, but I gotta work at my Dad's auto shop on Tuesday," Shaky said.
"It's fine, you'll probably just miss Garth crying like a little bitch" Angel said.
"Looking forward to it," I said.
"So Kate, you and Rick sure have a lot of catching up to do, you all gassed up for it big bro?" Angel teased.
"Of course Angel, of course you're concerned about that," Rick said.
"Angie, always being a perv," Shaky smiled.
"I'm a perv? You sniffed the shit out of my panties that day" Angel said.
"You threw them on my muzzle," Shaky laughed.

"I was undressing, I was doing it to be sexy," Angel answered.

"Angel… stop," Shaky said. We laughed again,
"What I want to know," she laughed.
"Why? Why is that something you want to know" Rick laughed back. Once he stopped he sighed. "I gotta stop for a minute, this shit hurts to laugh"
"At least you're awake" I said as I brushed his cheek.
"At least I'm awake," Rick repeated.
"But to answer your question Angel, yes, he is going to empty himself and fill me up" I smiled.
"Well how sweet" Angel joked.
"So what's the plan for you two?" Rick asked.
"Well we got school tomorrow so probably some Dexter, chilling, plowing, and then home" Angel listed,
"Thank you for sharing," Rick said sarcastically.
"You asked… you literally asked me" Angel smiled.
"You did ask," I teased.
"When did you want to leave?" Shaky asked Angel.
"Hmm, I think we should let these two catch up, get nice and hot," Angel said.
"Yeah, that's not happening here," Rick said.
"I don't know bro, you caught yourself a horny one" Shaky said. Rick turned to me and simply stared. I then licked my lips causing us both to laugh.
"No but for real, we'll leave you two be, see you at home?" Angel asked.
"I'll see ya" Rick said. Angel walked over and they gave each other one last hug before leaving. Shaky waved goodbye, and we waved back. He was the last one out, shutting the curtain behind him. Leaving just me and my love.
"So… what's up?" Rick asked. I giggled and gave him a kiss. He closed his eyes and accepted it gladly.
"I missed you so much," I said softly. Rick then scooted over.
"Here, lay down with me," he said.
"Huh?" I asked.
"You heard me, lay down next to me, the fact that you've been sitting in that chair all weekend, you must really be hurting" Rick said.
"Rick no, the bed is for you" I protested.

"Kate… I love you, I could never hate you, believe me what happened, I don't blame you, you don't have to worry about that" Rick said as he continued cupping my cheek. I closed my eyes and nuzzled his hand. Everytime he touched me it was like I melted, his hands were truly therapeutic.
"Thank you" I whispered. I opened my eyes for a moment to see Rick leaning in, I closed my eyes again and leaned in myself. Our lips met and I melted again as I felt his warm lips on mine. I reached out myself and cupped his cheek like he was doing with me. I tilted my head a bit and started taking nips at his lips to let him know I wanted some tongue.
